From the beginning James was incredibly friendly, responsive, and communicative, which made the planning process feel easy and stress-free. His online interface was also super user-friendly and made adding timeline details and Spotify playlists simple.
On the wedding day, James was professional, attentive, and kept everything running seamlessly. He checked in with us throughout the night, coordinated wonderfully with our other vendors, and truly helped keep the flow of the day on track without us having to worry about a thing. He also was able to read the room and played the best songs all night long to keep the dance floor busy! 10 outta 10 experience for our wedding night with DJ James. Hiring DJ James was the best decision we made for our event! His prices were extremely budget friendly for us, but he was worth 10x more.

Kept the fun going!
James was the DJ for my daughter's wedding on 2/21/26 and was absolutely fantastic. He was so fun and participated in all our family shenanigans. He kept the crowd engaged and got everyone's attention when needed. He did a great job with our music selections and knew exactly the vibe we were looking for. He is so much fun that it felt like he fit right in with our guests. I would recommend him for all weddings or large events and hope that we'll be able to use him in the future.

I cannot say enough great things. James went out of his way to make sure everything ran smoothly and comfortable for our wedding day. He communicated with me throughout the entire process and made me feel at ease. You cannot beat his pricing or his professionalism. He went above and beyond for our special day and kept everyone on the dance floor with great music and vibes. He also picked music for me for the cocktail hour and the seating prior to the ceremony. He was an amazing DJ and MC for our wedding and he involved our toddler into the music and had our whole wedding on the floor dancing all night long. The best DJ I could’ve imagined
I can’t say enough great things about DJ James. He was able to read a room so well and was so attentive to my husband and I, making sure everything was on schedule and according to our plan. He was the perfect MC and hype man. I will say- we had open dancing for almost 3 hours and the dance floor was packed the whole time!
He was so affordable and came with equipment for both my ceremony and reception. He had a disco ball which was so hype. Please please please book him, you won’t regret it.

Leading up to the wedding, he was quick to respond, very communicative, and clear with everything we needed. His pricing was better than anyone else we found, and the service far exceeded our expectations.
He even came to our rehearsal to make sure the sound was perfect and everything was set up correctly.
On the wedding day, he went above and beyond. He was organized, friendly, affirming, and completely on top of every detail. The music timing was perfect for every moment, and he read the crowd effortlessly, adjusting the vibe exactly when needed. Even our guests told us how impressed they were.

DJ James was absolutely amazing. He responded promptly to every email and even initiated conversations to insure our event came to fruition perfectly. His planning portal is easy to navigate and detailed. It allowed us to micro manage the evening as much or as little we wanted. We had some unique requests for our wedding and James was able to make the moments happen perfectly for us. His song selection is vast and he is able to add anything he doesn't have easily to his repertoire. If you need a reasonable price with the best results, James is your guy. James is the best DJ, hands down. We had our wedding at the BRIX on the Fox on September 13. We wanted someone who was very familiar with The BRIX, and he came highly recommended by their team. We could not be more thrilled with and happy with our experience with James! He has a super helpful website in which we were able to pick "must play," "play if possible," and "do not play" songs. We were also able to submit our timeline for the day of and special dance songs. Of all the things you worry about throughout planning a wedding, I had zero worries or anxiety with James. He is so calm, cool, and collected and knows exactly what he is doing with sound, lighting, volume, etc. On the day of, he followed our timeline perfectly and worked so well with our coordinators to make sure the day ran smoothly and we stayed on track. When the dance floor finally opened up, the guests did not leave the dance floor until the end of the night because of James. He followed our wishes and also through in some crowd pleasers that we completely forgot about. The whole day was amazing and we would recommend James to anyone who wants an incredibly talented, cost-effective, friendly, and professional DJ. We love you James!

He has lots of knowledge about music and can adapt easily based on his assessment of the crowd. He met all of our music and speech cues and kept the dance floor going all night. Our wedding was at a venue he had never been to before, but his many years of experience showed in the way that he was willing and able to adapt to the new environment. We can’t say enough good things about Jimmy! He was so easy to work with throughout the planning process. He gave us ideas on the flow of the night, allowed us to make Spotify playlists and send them to him for music ideas, met with us multiple times at the venue and on the phone so we felt confident with everything and most importantly the dance floor was PACKED at our wedding!!! DJUj was the best! He was the DJ at our wedding and he made the entire day perfect! He worked great with our officiant and venue! The process was also so EASY! Once we were booked we picked a lot of our songs through his website and it made the whole process not feel like a chore (like all the rest of wedding planning). I could not reccomend him more! I planned my wedding date around DJUj's availability!
I fortunately had the opportunity to see Jimmy a handful of times at events over the years. When we got engaged and were looking at our venue's available dates, I immediately reached out to Jimmy to see if any coincided with his availability as I would not plan my wedding without him being a part of it! I still have people complimenting the music and how wonderful our DJ was. Multiple family members and friends with weddings in various stages of planning have already reached out in hopes to lock him in for their wedding dates. Jimmy provided the uplighting for the dance floor as well as a rotating disco ball - we did not even have to hire an additional vendor for lighting. Having great music and getting people to dance was one of my major MUST HAVES for our celebration and with Jimmy in charge I didn't have to think about it twice. Such a great party and we couldn't have had the same success without him!

We had a great experience on our wedding day this past November. Communication was prompt throughout my entire wedding planning. I had trouble using the Spotify app and he guided me thought it several times and accommodated everything we needed! We chose some uncommon songs and he was able to find them and play them during all of our special moments throughout the night. We were going for a specific vibe and he executed it perfect! Jimmy was amazing to work with! His online planning tool was really easy to navigate and helped ensure we had all our must haves and do not plays organized. We used Jimmy for our ceremony and reception, making it beautiful throughout. He kept the dancefloor going and his lighting was an added bonus for us! The Best DJ!! 100% Recommend!!
DJ Jimmy was absolutely amazing for our wedding!! I don't think there was ever a dull moment on the dance floor - every time I looked over, it was packed! Our guests were dancing up until the very end. We had also requested a lot of Polish music (we had a half Polish wedding) and he incorporated all of our requests so seamlessly. So many of our guests let us know afterwards that our wedding had the best music out of all the weddings they have been to recently.
Jimmy was also the perfect emcee - he announced our grand entrances/speeches/cake cutting/etc in such a great way, it truly kept the night flowing very well. He made sure that all of our special music requests were granted, and he arrived super early to set up. We were even able to use his microphone during our ceremony.
We truly can't recommend DJ Jimmy enough!! Couldn't have asked for a better DJ. Our biggest THANK YOU Jimmy!!

Jimmy is a fantastic choice for a DJ! Throughout the wedding planning process, he was very prompt in communicating and answering any questions I had. The party of the summer!!!!!
We can't thank DJ Uj enough for being part of our day! We told him we wanted an insane party and that is exactly what we got! He kept the music flowing all night long and the dance floor FULL! We love that he took our playlist and played all our favorites along with mixing in some wedding essentials. He also took part in all the wedding fun which we loved! Perfect DJ / emcee for weddings!!
James was our DJ / emcee for our wedding, and we loved working with him! He kept the dance floor alive, while catering to our family / friend group’s diverse music tastes. We appreciated his ability to work off of our song recommendations, while mixing in his own crowd pleasers and songs requested by our guests. James brought his own complete set up including audio equipment, microphones, and colorful dance floor lighting!!
James also did an outstanding job as our emcee. His clear, engaging announcements kept the evening flowing smoothly (transition to dinner, bride/groom grand entrance, and so on). His great sense of humor added a delightful touch, making everyone feel comfortable and entertained.
Working with James was an absolute joy. He was professional, responsive, and genuinely invested in making our wedding day special. The Cassidy Wedding
James was the absolute BEST DJ we could have asked for! We got super lucky having a family friend recommend him to us! He stayed in contact with us, and had an extremely easy-to-use site to build a playlist and have the dances/names/announcements all planned out which made everything go so smoothly on our big day. While the Bride mostly made the playlist, James was flawless in the transitions between songs and keeping people on the dance floor and involved. He immediately came up to us in the afternoon prior to everything to introduce himself, was beyond professional and had a wonderful attitude. It was clear he was willing to do whatever was needed for us throughout the day and he did just that. Anytime we needed a question answered or wanted to request a certain song, he was on it. James was absolutely dialed in for everything and ready to go. Most of our guests also approached us and told us the music and dancing and overall vibe of the reception was the best that they’ve seen, and that the DJ was even having fun with the guests! He did a SUPERB job, and we’re beyond happy with his work. We would 110% highly recommend him to anyone, and honestly everyone if they want a wedding or event to even come close to as much fun and have an amazing experience as we did!

He was super responsive during the entire year of planning and we had one final call with him the week before to go over all of the final details. He definitely helped calm a lot of nerves knowing that he knew exactly what to do and when. He was amazing by playing every song we had given him for the correct times during the ceremony and he created the best dance floor vibe. There was the perfect mix of songs and he kept our dance floor lively the entire night. We would definitely recommend him to anyone planning a wedding or event!

Great energy
James helped from the start keep us at ease that he can do it all and he really did! He helped play music for the ceremony through cocktail hour and reception, it was upbeat and so fun the whole night. Great with the kids that we had and really just kept the night going! He is so nice and responsive and flexible with whatever you want to do!

We absolutely loved working with James for our wedding! His energy is incredible! He was super easy to communicate with, professional, friendly, and organized. On our wedding day, he checked in with us regularly to make sure things were going exactly how we wanted them to. He kept the party going all night and made sure everyone was having fun. Amazing dj!
DJ UJ went above and beyond for our wedding. He made the whole processes nice and simple for us. Prior to our day, he was available over the phone or in person to help answer all our questions and his website was easy to navigate. Dance floor was packed the whole time! Jimmy is the best DJ I have ever heard! Well priced, if I messaged him he would answer back if not the same day next morning! Always kind! He did what WE wanted not what he thought was best! Jimmy will forever be the one I recommend to my friends and family!! Thank you Jimmy! The wedding list was easy to navigate and fill in! People were on the dance floor literally every song! He’s good at switching songs when it isn’t getting the crowds attention! he let our 3 year old sing Let It Go from Frozen for a “wedding gift” to us 😂 And played songs for the kids (with our approval) Jimmy didn’t do anything without our approval before hand! Great DJ with lots of energy
James from the start was so responsive and respectful. Right away I asked if a same sex wedding is ok, and he made sure to make my fiancé and I felt comfortable. He helped us put a playlist together of songs and he made our wedding night so amazing. James has tons of energy and is great at being an emcee. Everyone had a fantastic night! Thank you James!!

James was so amazing to work with!! From our first call, his energy was unmatched. The online planning form he uses was so easy to navigate and as a Type A bride I felt relief knowing I could put every little detail in there. James let me share my Spotify playlists with him so he could really feel the vibe I was going for with ceremony,cocktail hour, dinner and dancing. He was SO HELPFUL to my photographer during family photos, grabbing the shot list and announcing the family members we needed. James definitely knows how to work the dance floor, switching genres when needed and always keeping things going. We can not recommend him enough!!!!

Incredible job by an incredible DJ!
We had our wedding yesterday at the Brix in Carpentersville and DJUj absolutely killed it! He was incredibly responsive during the planning phase. He answered all of our questions and was willing to accommodate a couple of special requests we had. During the event, he was incredibly professional. He played all of the "must-play" songs that we had requested and was able to read the room and play the perfect songs at the best times. And overall, he's just a very nice person. If I could give more than five stars, I would. Thank you for making our special night awesome!

Best Wedding DJ
When my husband & I first spoke with Jimmy over the phone, we knew we wanted him as our DJ. We want someone who was not only a DJ but an MC and someone who kept the dance floor alive all night- he did not disappoint! So many of our guests have commented that the music was awesome! You need to hire him!
As a bride, I was very nervous about finding the perfect DJ who would keep the night alive and be able to read the room. I talked to many DJs and was just not pleased with their overall demeanor. I was getting nervous until I met James Mastrino! After having one conversation with him I knew he would be PERFECT! He is so enthusiastic and extremely passionate about his job! He is able to adjust quickly to random situations and I would recommend him to any bride that is stressed and looking for a good time!

Literally the absolute best!
We have been to one wedding where Jimmy had DJ’d and we were hooked! The online forms were so easy to navigate and so helpful for me to really have the songs/timeline make sense(and when I filled something out wrong he was so quick to clarify with me before even the entrances so that it was smooth sailing) We were lucky enough have him be available and he killed it seriously the most helpful person kept me on track of what was going on and when things did have to pushed back he made it so fluid we didn’t even notice the hiccups. I cant thank him enough for everything , everyone loved him and kept talking about what a great job he had done and how nice he was to everyone there! Jim is truly fantastic! My husband and I hired him for our wedding on 6/30/23. He was amazing throughout the whole process and kept everything running smoothly the day of! My wedding was perfect and a lot of it was thanks to this amazing DJ James! He was so easy to talk to and helped us with every question we had! If you go in not knowing what the heck you are doing he is there to support you! He thought of things I didn’t even think of! He was so accommodating with everything we needed and did I mentioned it was the best party in the world! You can definitely tell he loves his job and he is right there having fun alongside you! Amazing dj - better than i could have dreamed
When I approached James with the request of doing Karaoke at our wedding, he was immediately excited and thrilled. Many other DJ's turned us away or charged us astronomically more. James took our idea and ran with it and made our wedding better than I ever could have imagined. He knew EXACTLY how to work in the karaoke all night and also played the perfect songs between. There were no awkward pauses waiting for the next karaoke singers because James knew how to time things perfectly. I didn't submit an extensive list of songs either but James played nothing but BANGERS all night. And in typical Bride fashion, when I requested to play my last song earlier in the night, he found a song just as amazing and perfect to fill in that place. I would trust James with EVERYTHING you need. He made my day perfect and went over and beyond I could have imagined. I even sprung on him doing streamers inside and he helped organize it all. Afterward, I thought "oh no this is a mess and people may fall", but DJUJ was ON IT!!! He started a conga line which allowed everyone to move off the dance floor so it can be cleaned. DJs truly make or break a wedding and James made sure to MAKE our wedding the best ever. Almost a month later we still have everyone raving to us about how awesome our wedding was and how much fun it was and that was all due to James.

Jimmy was fantastic throughout the whole process. We chose him after he DJ'd my sister's wedding, so we made sure to book him well in advance. Needless to say, we were never disappointed. Jimmy was very responsive to all communication and made sure to anticipate any potential issues to figure out ahead of time. He was able to do the music, sound system, and mics for the ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception, and it all went great! He also provided uplights for our reception, which saved us a lot of money rather than going with the venue's uplighting. We gave him some song suggestions for different parts of the day, but he did an amazing job choosing what to play when and making everything flow so well. The dance floor was packed until the last song and we had the best time singing and dancing the night away with our friends and family. He helped make our special day everything we wanted and more. Make sure Jimmy is one of the first vendors you book – he's the best!

DJUJ is the best!
We hired DJUJ for our wedding on 3/24. He provided music for both our ceremony and reception for an incredible price. The dance floor was full most of the night and all music for the ceremony was perfect with no hiccups. Definitely choose DJUJ for your next event!

DJ Uj was absolutely incredible. We could not have found a better DJ for our wedding. He was prompt with communication and was kind, full of energy, and such a fun person to have on the microphone. I've been at weddings where the DJ was just too much - like they're trying to steal the show or be the center of attention. DJ Uj was not like that. He took all of the requests we made for the day and crushed it. His website made building a playlist super easy. I would highly, highly, highly recommend him, you will not be disappointed!

Nailed our Quirky Vibes
James did a fantastic job nailing our quirky, nerdy vibes. Our guests loved the homages to our favorite video games and movies and he handled it all with an excellent sense of humor. I particularly appreciated his use of the venue lighting system, it really added to the mood and contributed to great wedding photos.
