We could tell during our first meeting, he’s not your traditional DJ, and after our first interview we knew he was going to the be the perfect guy for the job. We booked him a year out, so he really takes time to get to know you as a couple and plans precisely on how to perform on your special day. He knows exactly how to set the mood, get the crowd energized, and end the night on the perfect note. We love going to out to bars, clubs, concerts, and festivals; and our wedding very much felt like an amazing show. Everyone singing during dinner will forever be one of our favorite moments on our special day. Definitely worth the price. Very professional and extremely talented. -

Holy cow. A month later and my guests are still raving. DJ Troy is worth his salt! He will keep your dance floor packed the whole night. I had never seen a wedding where the dance floor was popping all night long and clearly neither had my guests. He has an art for feeling out the vibes of the crowd and plays banger after banger. Trust his professional judgement and no play list -- it works. -

Our first impression of DJ Troy was from our staycation at the Four Seasons. We were in the pool and noticed the wedding going on by the beach. We immediately clocked the live mix was so fun and impressive that we asked a Four Seasons employee if they knew who the DJ was. And it was DJ Troy. And after a call with him, we booked him.
My partner and I had a long list of must haves from a DJ / entertainment vendor. Our wedding lacked many of the more traditional moments, and we wanted our wedding to be FUN and full of laughter. DJ Troy more than delivered on it all. He was so great to work with from the beginning, and he helped create one of the best nights we’ve ever had. Nearly every single one of our guests had compliments for DJ Troy.
Leading up to the day, DJ Troy had a great music questionnaire for us to fill out and we had an in-depth conversation about what to expect from our guests and the event. He understood our vision for the day, and he wasn’t just going to press play on a playlist. He gave us examples and ensured we were all on the same page. He offered his help and advice with even some of the more stressful wedding details outside of entertainment. The fact that he shared his expertise of weddings was so appreciated!
On the day of our wedding. DJ Troy curated the perfect vibes. His live mix was so good, and his energy uplifted everyone else’s! Our guests were dancing from cocktail hour to the very end of the night. Not only that, but he was an expert with the flow of the event. DJ Troy knew exactly when the right time for certain parts of programming was, and he helped our coordinator move the event along in a way that made it even more enjoyable.
If you want to be dancing and laughing all night without a single worry, we would strongly recommend DJ Troy for your event. -

Dj troy 10/10!!!
DJ Troy was one of our best vendors and investments! He had the vibes up from the beginning to end. He was very personable from the start, able to integrate our likes, and vibe of music alongside read the crowd and mix in his own. He really is an artist. We wish we could relive the day again with him as our dj. Our guests had so many compliments for him following. My sister even joked about flying him to New York for her wedding in 2027!

DJ Troy was AMAZING as our DJ/host/party instigator. Prior to the wedding he was prompt with setting up meetings, setting up Google docs to configure out wedding songs, texts, etc.
The wedding itself was a grand ol time. He made sure to incorporate all the songs we wanted and even got impromptu karaoke sessions going! He kept the party going all night long with a wide variety of guests from the babies to grandmas. Would 1000x recommend again. -

DJ Troy Michael is simply the best at what he does! 10 out of 10! Our wedding was a vibe from start to finish, and DJ Troy is the reason. He set the tone with the music. He kept our party going nonstop! The dance floor was never lacking in fun. I had family members who NEVER dance, dancing the whole night away! People still keep messaging me saying our DJ was great and asking for the playlist. But that’s the best part!!!! We didn’t even give him a playlist! He is so good at what he does that we literally filled out a one pager with the vibes we wanted, must plays, do not plays, first dance song, etc. and then he took it and ran with it from there. He somehow nailed our music taste perfectly! -

DJ Troy is the BEST! He was a pleasure to work with both leading up to my wedding and on the day of. He has such a extensive knowledge of music (both current and past) which allows him to read the current vibe/mood and play the perfect song to match it. My request to him was to have people dancing throughout our entire wedding and he did just that! He brings the energy, but also somehow doesn't make it about him. We had so many guests comment on how great our DJ was and I couldn't agree more! I highly recommend him for any party! Thanks so much, Troy!! -

DJ Troy absolutely killed it, 100% would recommend hiring him for your event. His MC skills were minimal but he always kept the party going. His song transitions had our friends and family reeling - always trying to guess where he would take us next. His lighting was excellent and he brought the party to life with everything. On top of the stellar DJ work on the day of, Troy was incredibly helpful in the planning and coordinating before the wedding. He has lots of experience planning events and it shows. If you can, definitely bring him on to your wedding/event! -

It's been a year since our wedding and we still think that DJ Troy helped make our wedding so memorable for us and our guests. When my now-husband and I decided to have a wedding, the main reason was because we wanted to have a dance party with our friends. We knew that hiring a high quality DJ was one of our top priorities. After recently attending a couple weddings with DJs who played what sounded like a Spotify playlist (complete with spaces in between songs... what the heck...) but still charged thousands of dollars, we knew that it was important to find the right person for the job. I reached out to several DJs for quotes and got a corporate or cheesy feel from many of them. Then we had our intro call with DJ Troy. Troy used the call to explain his approach to DJing, his experience and his process, and learn more about us and our guests to make sure it was a good fit. His professionalism, attention to detail and true understanding of his craft persuaded us on that call that he was the DJ we had been searching for. We booked him during that initial call. A couple months later, we had our second call with him to go over some music choices (he gave us a google doc to fill out ahead of time). At no point did we give him a playlist or even a very long list of songs or artists we wanted to have played -- we chatted with him about the overall vibe we wanted to create at different points, chose songs for select moments (bride processional, first dances, etc), gave him a short list of certain songs and artists we like, and let him work his magic for the rest! There were so many points during the event when a song would come on and I would think, I love this song! He expertly wove together all different kinds of music throughout the night and it all culminated in the final dance party, which felt like being at a super fun night club with our friends and family. He kept our guests dancing for nearly three hours! I had so many people tell me afterwards he was the best wedding DJ they had ever experienced.
A couple of big pluses -- he brought his own sound system, which was super high quality. He put lavalier mics on the officiant and my husband during the ceremony so the guests could hear what was being said. We used his mic and sound system for the speeches during the reception, which was great because our venue has a horrible sound system that renders speeches unintelligible. DJ Troy also served as our emcee, making announcements when needed but not hamming it up or telling irritating jokes. He also brought his own lights, which really enhanced the experience on the dance floor. I think the price he charges is more than reasonable given the high quality of his work and all these extras he provides.
If you love music and want a professional DJ who you can trust to do his thing and not have to give a whole playlist to, I highly recommend hiring DJ Troy to work his magic. -

Booking DJ Troy was easily one of the best and easiest decisions we made for our wedding. We're from NY and had our wedding in Hawaii so had to take a lot of leaps of faith when booking vendors. DJ Troy was the first vendor we booked and was incredibly helpful from the start, offering suggestions ranging from other vendors to local haunts to check out while in town. He was familiar with the Moana and helped us with the seating and table arrangements for the reception for optimal flow/experience. We absolutely love all kinds of music and DJ Troy did a masterful job bringing together a bunch of different sounds into a cohesive musical experience. He said confidently his goal was to get everyone out on the dance floor and he succeeded hands down; the entire reception was on the floor! The music was bumping so hard there were literally people dancing in their windows and balconies to join in on the fun. Knowing that we were from NYC, as the closing track DJ Troy mixed in Empire State of Mind to send off the night and end on a perfect high note. I highly recommend DJ Troy for your wedding as he was incredibly easy to work with, clearly loves his craft, and goes above and beyond for his clients. Go DJ, cause that's my DJ! -

I can’t say enough great things about DJ Troy!! He goes above and beyond and surprised me at how detail oriented and thoughtful he is! He is so easy to talk to too! :) He made amazing suggestions that we didn’t even think about, was so responsive and seriously the best DJ we could’ve asked for! I was constantly following up with other vendors and he was the only one actually following up with me and kept me sane. Everyone at our wedding kept coming up to us saying that the music was so good and he definitely knew what songs would hype up our crowd. We’re from the Bay but he knew exactly what to play to make the dance floor poppin. I can’t thank him enough for all that he has done. Troy was an AMAZING DJ for our destination wedding in Hawaii!!! I was a bit nervous about who to hire for a DJ since me and my husband live in California. However, working with Troy was a breath of fresh air!! Troy was very friendly, warm, and approachable, and you can tell that he clearly knew his stuff!!
Not only was planning out the music super easy to do (Troy was very organized and gave us a music document to fill out ahead of time), but he also gave great suggestions on what to do in the Oahu area, especially if you are coming to Hawaii for a destination wedding!
We got SO MANY compliments on Troy's DJ'ing throughout the wedding ceremony!! He did a great job of staying on top of the schedule and also playing all the songs we wanted to be played throughout the ceremony and reception. Troy also added in some songs in addition to what we wanted to have played, and was very intuitive in terms of what music to add to the part.
His music lit up the dance floor, and seriously... it was a CRAZY wedding lol!! My friends and family were on the dance floor the entire time!!
(In addition, his DJ table set-up was awesome and we were able to share our engagement photos on his LCD screen, which was a nice elegant touch!)

DJ Troy did an amazing job for our wedding; we hired him for both emcee-ing and DJ services. We would highlight the following areas where he did an especially great job and are very happy that we hired him for our wedding.
- Great communication, responsive, and easy planning process; he provides a simple planning document to capture your music and song preferences for your wedding and is quick to respond to any questions leading up to your wedding day
- Excellent at reading the room during our wedding night and adjusting the music and songs accordingly to keep the dance floor full and all of our guests happy; while DJ Troy did build on the song preferences we provided as a base, he also made multiple very intentional, real-time music adjustments to maintain high energy throughout the night that was particularly spot-on. DJ Troy is a pro!
- Professional and energetic emcee capabilities; DJ Troy lent just the right level of enthusiasm and warmth to our reception and also provided several good suggestions leading up to our event on the timing of our program and room layout that we wouldn't have thought of ourselves
- Aesthetically pleasing set-up; DJ Troy has modern equipment, great lighting, and a cool booth w/ a customizable digital screen that added to the ambiance of our reception
Because of DJ Troy, our guests were still going crazy on the dance floor much later into the night than normal weddings. All of our guests had such a fantastic time and he was critical to helping create that atmosphere for us. Thanks, DJ Troy! -

Troy was amazing, it’s like he read our minds on what we wanted to hear. He didn’t require me to give him a full playlist. He asked for preferred artists and songs and fed off of that. And he did it perfectly. A great DJ can make or break your reception. If you don’t have a great DJ to feel out the vibe of the crowd then you might as well just pull up a Spotify playlist. Troy is the best and his other reviews are no joke when they he’s the best DJ on the island.
One of our friends who got married in Hawaii hated the music their DJ played. I loved every minute of Troy’s mixes. He exceeded my expectations and a lot of our guest were requesting the playlist.
If you’re looking for the perfect DJ for a wedding, party or just anything, I would highly HIGHLY recommend DJ Troy. I didn’t include any photos cuz I didn’t take any. I was having way too much fun dancing with my family and friends that I didn’t take out my phone. He’s that good! -

Troy was the first vendor we booked, and that was even before we signed off on our venue! Troy is hands down the best. My husband and I always looked forward to chatting with Troy because we loved talking music. We like all kinds of music: 70s, 90s, 00s, disco, r and b, Salsa, boy bands, and Bay Area rap… Troy had everyone on the dance floor all night long! He helped us with our ceremonial songs, even assisting with last minute changes for mics the day of, and when I lost the garter as the song starting playing for the garter toss- he took control and no one noticed what emergency just happened. My only request to Troy was to keep everyone dancing all night long, and the dance floor was packed the entire time. We even saw people at the hotel dancing from their balconies He was having everyone dance! Choose Troy for your wedding, it’s a no-brainer. Did I mention, he also takes the best videos and pics from his DJ booth, he is so fun! We honestly still have guests saying he was the best DJ they’d experience at any wedding, and to me, that’s saying a lot. -

DJ Troy was a blessing and gave us the perfect wedding!
When we had to postpone our wedding a second time due to COVID, one of the vendors we had to replace was the DJ that we originally hired, this is when our wedding planner suggested DJ Troy. This was a total blessing in disguise, as we believe DJ Troy was the wedding DJ we always needed.
We are very particular with music and had specific songs we wanted played, we also had a surprise dance planned that Troy teed up and nailed perfectly. The cool thing about Troy is that he also has great taste, and he sold us on his abilities to feel the crowd and also on the fun of him not just playing from our specific playlist but also bringing some of his own flavor to the table based on our taste. I feel like this worked out perfectly. We had dozens of guests saying the music was great.
Throughout the preparation process Troy was always responsive when needed and after our calls with him we always came away even more excited for our event.
All in all, I would highly recommend him to anyone. -

DJ Troy was incredible. Prior to the wedding he took the time to get to know us as a couple so he could cater to our wedding timeline, music preferences, and the overall vibe we were hoping to achieve. DJ Troy Needs a Vegas Residency!
My husband and I love music, seeing DJ's, dancing, and having a good time. The music was by far the most important part of our wedding, and we didn't want a boring wedding DJ playing all the same things you hear at every wedding. DJ Troy blew the roof off. We had our own nightclub that was all about us... from the photo of us on his DJ booth to a setlist made just for us. I love dubstep and rap, my husband loves 90's rock and mainstream EDM, and DJ Troy mixed it all. When the wedding ended at 1 a.m. nobody was ready to go back to our hotel rooms. It was so good that multiple of our guests asked if they could get the setlist, and one couple who's getting married in LA considered seeing if he would fly out. Can't recommend more! -

I cannot even begin to accurately describe how amazing Troy's playlist for our wedding was. From the very beginning, he asked us what type of songs we preferred to hear. Not only that, but he also inquired as to which songs we would like to have banned from our wedding (some people might be able to relate better than others, but we all know that certain songs just drive us crazy at the first beat--Troy was absolutely receptive to that). From the commencement of the ceremony to the last dance of the night, everything Troy played was exactly what we wanted.
I have never before met a DJ who takes so much time to get to know a couple before their special event. Troy was sensitive to our desires. He was accommodating, professional, and ever-so flexible. He was everything you could ever ask for in a DJ.
When it comes time to choose someone to play those special tunes for your magical day, I highly implore you to look no further than Troy Michael DJ LLC! My husband and I hired Troy as the top call DJ in Honolulu for our February 2020 wedding, and he did not disappoint. Troy carefully incorporated all our must-plays and guest must-haves into a seamless playlist, including some unique remixes and surprises that everyone cheered on. Additionally, Troy is happy to avoid any artist or genre entirely if asked, making it easy to cut out artists that you may not want to endorse because of negative allegations or bad behavior.
Plus, Troy’s DJ stand comes with an LCD display that he’s happy to use for photos or video presentations. My father insisted on pictures and videos for his wedding speech, and Troy helped him get set up for his presentation. If you’d like to show a short video at some point during your event, this is a good way to do so without buying extra setup materials like screens and projectors.
If you want a DJ who can actually read your crowd’s energy and keep everyone excited and feeling great, there’s no one better than DJ Troy!

We were hoping a family friend could hook us up with a DJ for our wedding. About two weeks before the date, we were still looking for a DJ. I found DJ Troy Michael and reached out to him. Not only was he available but he provided everything we would need to have sound during our ceremony and reception, as well as dance floor lights. It was more than we had budgeted for but in the end it was worth every penny! DJ Troy was easy to talk to on the phone. Planning a wedding from afar is nerve-wrecking but he was reassuring and easy to work with. I gave him a brief overview of our musical tastes and he excelled at providing the right music at the right time. It was amazing to hear songs that I didn't specifically tell him I wanted to hear but he intuitively knew to play them. My guests were on the dance floor all night! HIGHLY highly recommend! -

From the very beginning We knew Troy was exactly who we were looking for!! We worked with Troy for our wedding in November at Paradise Cove at Ocean Garden in Oahu Hawaii. From the moment we had our chat with DJ Troy Michael, we knew that we found the right DJ for our wedding. He has a really good philosophy on maintaining and directing the flow of a wedding, and this was very evident on our wedding day.
He kept things lively by giving tables different challenges to put themselves in contention to go to the buffet for food. That was extremely entertaining. He played music within the desired genre that we had in mind, and I was receiving compliments about the music all night from our guests.

We booked DJ Troy for our destination wedding in October 2019. Troy was quick to respond to my inquiry and we schedule a phone call that same week. During our first conversation, I knew he was the right person to book for our wedding. He also asked about our guests and what music they might like to hear. DJ Troy Michael made all of our wedding dreams come true. He was professional, easy to work with, and most importantly (for us), fun! He made everyone feel welcome at the wedding, took care of all housekeeping and MC jobs without seeming pushy, and kept the timeline flowing smoothly. When the music started, my guests couldn’t stop dancing! I’ve been to weddings where there are two awkward people on the dance floor, but our wedding felt like the hottest club in Vegas. 1. He was always available for a call and gave great advice on how to flow our timeline smoothly.
2. He did not vamp or tell corny jokes or make himself the center of attention. He is a very natural on the mic and knew how to keep the guests focused on what it needs to be focused on.
3. He checked out our venue months before our wedding to make sure that he knew the space.
4. He worked with our other vendors to know what their plan and schedule was for the day of and he helped whenever there were unforeseen things that we had to push our timeline out for. 5. He played all of the songs we requested and a great mix of other music that got all of our guests dancing. I never felt that there was a time when that the dance floor wasn't full.
I would hire Troy a hundred times over and absolutely recommend him!

Music was very important for us as a couple - Troy was an easy pick. He took on our ridiculous request of a “rave” wedding and made it amazing! Not everyone can appreciate electronic music like us but he some how got our guests moving on the dance floor. He is a great DJ that can easily read the crowd. Loved every song he played and would def recommend him to anyone who is picky about music. The night went so smoothly and I had a blast. My friends could not stop talking about how amazing the music was! -

Based on his website (first impression), I had a feeling that DJ Troy would be our DJ for our destination wedding. After speaking to him on the phone for the first time, we immediately clicked and we were on the same page when it came to music. We had the same tastes. He was so responsive and organized. He gave us a Music Planner on Google Docs to fill out and submit prior to the reception.
The day of the reception, the music was ON POINT. I have never seen so many people sing so many songs before! We were non-stop! Troy knew exactly how to transition and mix and it was INCREDIBLE.
Aside from being an incredible DJ, he is such a great person. Talking to him in person for the first time felt like talking to a friend I haven’t seen in a long time and that made the experience even better.
I would highly recommend him for anyone planning their wedding on Oahu! -

Troy is the best, period. From the first consultation phone call up until the day of the event, Troy has been super helpful every step of the way. He always starts by trying to understand what kind of event you want to throw, and continues to work his magic from there. For our particular wedding we were working without a wedding planner but Troy helped us feel very prepared by providing his own insights into several areas beyond just DJing and music. His experience really shows, and he definitely understands the ins and outs of running a ceremony and reception. His performance the night of was exceptional, his mixing was phenomenal and everyone reacted super well to his song choices. I can't say enough great things about this man. If you're having any sort of event in Hawaii, be sure to check him out, he has so much to offer. -

DJ Troy was the very first vendor we booked when we started planning our wedding. He had DJ'd a friend's wedding and we knew that we wanted him to DJ ours. Troy was extremely helpful throughout the entire planning process—from meeting us in person, to answering questions about shuttles and catering and other things that had nothing to do with playing music. I hadn't looked at other DJs before talking with him on the phone, and instantly knew we were going to book him before he even finished talking about what type of DJ/emcee he is.
I hadn't found a DJ/emcee for our destination wedding which was about 4-5 weeks away (I've had about a year to get things settled and somehow managed to save finding vendors one month out). Friends of mine who had their wedding on Oahu highly recommended him. We are so very happy that they did! We were lucky that he was available for the date of our wedding. Setting up communication with him was so easy using his site which showed his call availability based off your time zone. This made it super easy to get in touch since we live in Denver.
My husband and I felt like Troy was the perfect fit for us right away. After we spoke on the phone and he let us know a little about his style and services, we really felt like there was no need to look any further and asked for a contract ASAP. He is worth every penny. As an emcee he easily helped to keep the wedding program running smooth and quick. As a DJ, he delivered phenomenally! Troy and I had talked about what kind of music my husband and I wanted, and everything that he played for our reception was so spot on. All of our guests raveedddd about his music selection. While our guests didn't spend much time dancing on the actual dance floor, they were dancing everywhere else in the venue pretty much the entire time.
We really wanted someone that has the ability to read the room/vibe, not be forceful or obnoxious, and play great music-Troy did all of that more. He offered great suggestions to fit what we needed to in a small amount of time. It was a total plus that he has worked many other weddings with the photographer that we chose, so coordination and communication between them was a breeze.

Recel Sent on 07/03/2018I was planning our destination wedding in Oahu all the way from NJ. I had found Troy on a preferred vendors list so I decided to check out his Instagram. Immediately I was like THIS IS MY DJ! I saw how much fun people were having, glow sticks, and when I went on his website to check him out and he was like not the typical wedding dj, I knew he was perfect. Me and my fiance like more upbeat dance music, EDM-electronic dance music, when we had a conference call with Troy and told him some of the edm djs we liked, he knew exactly who we were talking about and was getting hype, so then we were getting hype! We had him for the ceremony and reception which was amazing because we wanted our guests to dance all day long - and they did! I wanted a different type of song for my entrance and all I had was a clip from a podcast on youtube, he was able to make it work for us! All our guests commented that we had the best dj out of all the weddings they've been to on the mainland and we completely agree! Thank you Troy!!
