Top caliber DJ. DJ Royale

DJ Royale was absolutely amazing. Made the process super easy and stress free. We had very productive meetings to set expectations, schedule, music, logistics, payments, etc. These were super helpful and Benny even brought up items we didn't think about. His knowledge and expertise in the wedding world was invaluable. When we met about the playlist, we went over songs that we had to have and genres that we preferred. DJ Royale did a phenomenal job of making a playlist that flowed and representiled us well. The dance floor was the place to be all night.
In short, I would recommend DJ Royale to everyone. His pricing is very fair.

Epic Wedding and Dance Party

DJ Royale was incredible, responsive and thorough. He tailors his set to your needs. We wanted more of a folk/oldies vibe for our reception with a hip hop dance party afterward and boy did he deliver. He checked in several times prior to the big day, providing a detailed list of specific songs we may want (bride entrance, couple exit, wedding party, etc) which was nice as we were not the most prepared. Smooth sailing on the wedding day. 6 stars would hire again.

Great DJ all around!

Spinning Our Love Story Just Right! 🎶🕺

DJ Royale was absolutely great! He was so open to our music tastes and didn't bat an eye at our extensive playlist suggestions...lol. He curated a wonderful selection of music that kept everyone on the dance floor throughout our afternoon wedding – it was truly a blast! We also really appreciated his help in choosing the perfect introduction songs for all the special moments including first dance, parent dances, cake cutting, etc. On top of everything, he was flexible with pricing and worked with our budget to reach a fair agreement. Couldn’t recommend more!

Benny/DJ Royale couldn’t have done better at our wedding. He was extremely easy to work with right from the start and jumped on multiple calls with us in the months leading up to the wedding to make sure he shared our vision for the night. We knew he was a perfect fit right from the start when he told us “I’m not a wedding DJ, I’m a DJ that does weddings”. That was the perfect description. It felt more like a dance party than a wedding which is exactly what we wanted. We couldn’t keep the bride off the dance floor if we wanted. 10/10 for Royale, you should absolutely book if you can!!

Created an 'Epic' evening of dancing!

We would certainly recommend DJ Royale to others he was very professional and made us and our guest feel very comfortable. Our legs are still recovering from all the dancing! It is always a concern when hosting a wedding whether you can get people dancing...do not worry it will be more about how to end the fun evening.

We LOVED working with Benny and we know you will too. After postponing a year due to covid, Benny made it super easy and was incredibly flexible and patient with the process. The day of the wedding, he was prompt, communicative, and easy. He played the right music to get the group dancin’ and played our favorite jams without us even having to ask - he’s a wizard I think. We like him because he doesn’t give off traditional “wedding DJ vibes” - he’s not a showman or an emcee, he hangs out w the mic and the music and does amazing.

We had the pleasure of enjoying Benny’s work at one of my closest friends’ wedding and we both fell head over heels for him.

Benny puts 200% into helping you and your guests have a memorable time. He puts so much love in and it’s palpable. Over the course of the weekend, all of our guests loved him as much as we do. We truly can’t say enough about him and how much we appreciate him.

The music for our wedding was unique and tailored to our party. He was on top of organizing equipment and everything was seamless.

We could have not asked for a better DJ for our wedding ceremony and reception!
DJ Royale took the time to meet with us prior to our wedding and go over timeline, offer suggestions, and really listen to our requests for music and overall ambiance. We have continued to receive compliments from family and friends of all ages what a GREAT job our DJ did. Benny has a talent of mixing music from any genre and making it flow seamlessly. Our dance floor was the life of our reception and kept going well past the bar closing ..... which is a true testament to the music and DJ! In what can be such a stressful day, Benny was a vendor we could rely on and even depend on when things got stressful.

Benny is the BEST DJ!! We just had the most magical destination wedding in Tulum, Mexico with 90 of our closest friends and family and everyone keeps on telling us how much their loved the music. Great music (and a great dance party) was one of our top priorities. Benny is fantastic and we couldn't have been happier or more appreciative of all that he did for us. He is professional, dependable and great to work with. Benny has an intuitive and responsive sense for the party vibe and what people like and want. Our guests enjoyed interacting with him and putting in requests, and he certainly delivered a fun, energetic and long-lasting dance party!! Beyond the music, we were also very impressed with how skillfully and artfully he MCed / facilitated the many moments in the evening. He generously met with us ahead of time to talk through the run of show we had put together, and helped us refine our plans. The night of, he adeptly managed the natural flow of things (and where things took longer/shorter than expected), and helped us stay on track with the general schedule and order of events. We had a small, intimate wedding in November 2017 and used Benny as our DJ. Since it was such a small occasion, we originally planned to just use our own playlist and let it run. Benny was recommended by our photographer so I thought it couldn’t hurt to give him a call. We ultimately decided to hire Benny to free us up on another thing to worry about. I’m so THRILLED we did. He was professional, polite, read the room like a champ, and picked the perfect time for the perfect music. Sweet, inspirational music while waiting for the wedding? ✔️ The exact ceremony music we selected at the exact right moments? ✔️ The exactly perfect background music during cocktails/appetizers? ✔️ Relaxing and romantic music through dinner? ✔️ Some good stuff to get the party going and the drinks flowing? ✔️ Saved the good stuff until right after the kids and older folks left for the evening? ✔️ His instincts are good, his remixes are on point and his ability to see what really gets people moving is spot on. I’m so glad we invested in hiring Benny because he literally built the party from the ground up. He was also reliable, communicative, professional and on time for every interaction and brought all the equipment. We highly recommend him. And if you’re on the fence about whether to use a pro or your cousin Ed who is an aspiring DJ, do yourselves a favor and get the real deal. He was worth every penny.

Benny did an outstanding job. He was a huge part of our special day. We had him set up two different locations, one for the ceremony and a different area for the reception, which was not a problem for him. He also provided a lapel mic and a handheld mic for our ceremony, which was great. We had a family member do a reading and the handheld mic worked great for that. It also was a good back up since my experience with lapel mics, haven't always been the best. His setup worked amazing.

He came highly recommended from our friends so we didn't give him a ton of direction for the reception. We gave him a list of artists that we liked and let him mix the songs to go with the flow of the reception. This was great for us, because after meeting with him initially we felt that we could trust his knowledge and skill as a professional to provide a good atmosphere for our party. It also took a lot of stress off of us in picking every single song we wanted (but if you want to do that, I am sure he can accommodate).

He is very laid back and easy to work with. Our main goal from all of our wedding vendors were to limit the amount on our plate and let them do what they do best. This is exactly how our experience was with Benny. He exceeded our expectations and I would recommend him to anyone looking for a great wedding DJ.

DJ Royale did an amazing job at my recent wedding. I did not know a lot of stuff while planning my wedding and did not have a coordinator and Ben was able to make suggestions for me and help me through the process. For my ceremony i had found music online and Ben was able to get those specific tracks for me and use them which i thought was amazing because i did not know that was possible. I did not pick out specific songs for my reception, all i could do was just tell Ben my style and some specific type of music to play and he was able to hand pick all the great songs from each genre. He knows his music and he knows people. He was able to get the crowd to dance and move the whole night. Not only did he provide me with great music and entertainment, he did a great job at maintaining the timeline and making announcements when needed. DJ Royale is good at his job and knows his music but also has a great personality and is easy to talk to which i think is a must when hiring a great DJ. Ben Christiansen was fantastic! Great communication from the beginning. We had a lot of requested music we wanted played during our dinner/ cocktail hour and then gave him an idea of what kind of dance music we liked. Not our first marriage so we had some older music and classics we love. He was so accommodating and put together an evening of music that was exactly what we were looking for and that kept our guests dancing all night! He is a pleasure to work with and his attention to what we were looking for was very much appreciated.

DJ Royale was incredible. We knew going into the whole planning process that a DJ can make or break the party. From the get go, Ben was responsive, thoughtful and totally in touch with our wants and needs for the big day. He came well in advance to make sure everything was setup and ready to go. He was incredibly warm and friendly to all of our family and friends. We had people go out of their way to contact us and tell us how fantastic he was. I've been a bridesmaid 15 times and been to or coordinated numerous weddings and I have never seen that many people on the dance floor - and for 3 hours no less!!!! Highly professional and highly, highly recommended!

Looking for a DJ for your upcoming event? Quit reading this review and call DJ Royale right now! Benny was energetic and provided a great atmosphere for our group to have an awesome night on the dance floor. He was a great emcee for our reception as well, keeping things moving and hitting all the high notes. Our night ended with our entire group of friends dancing in a circle around us, and we have never felt so happy. Great music choices by Benny were instrumental in this, and our guests were impressed that he was able to provide transitions between songs, as well as mix music from many decades to keep everyone happy. He was on point with our requests and overall provided the best DJ experience we could have asked for. Seriously, quit reading this and call him!

We had a destination wedding outside of Portland so we had to coordinate a lot of components remotely. Ben was such a great help for any tips/recommendations on the wedding day plans since he was very familiar with the venue. He was always very receptive to our questions and eased our minds about any concerns. This dude knows what he is doing. He's got the system under control and you won't be disappointed.

During the entire ceremony and reception we didn't have to even think about the music. He showed up early. Set up his gear. And we never had to give the music a second thought from that point forward. Everything was seamless from intro ceremony music to late night dance party.

I would undoubtedly recommend Ben (DJ Royale) to any friends, family or random internet people.

Benny, aka "DJ Royale", did a really great job DJing our wedding. He also did the music for our ceremony to include pre-wedding music, processional and recessional music. I loved how he played music that our guests wanted to dance to and everyone had so much fun. The best part was dancing with my new husband, my family, his family and our friends while Benny made it fun. So much fun! Awesome DJ! Thank you Benny! Ben did a fantastic job DJing our wedding. I'm definitely using Ben again for the next big event I host! DJ Royale was the perfect vendor for our wedding. Easy to get in contact with, quick to adjust details and most importantly he threw one hell of a dance party. During the planning process, he was super adaptable to our needs (music at ceremony site and reception) and provided us with a killer playlist for background music that was just what we imagined. Prior to the wedding, he told me that he would have every single person on their feet and dancing at the reception. I kid you not, there was a point were 95% of the guests were dancing their tails off. We had the best time and could have danced for hours longer if we didn't need to be out of the venue. You get what you pay for. If you want a quality DJ that listens to what you want/need/don't want and you want to seriously dance, DJ Royale is your guy.

Benny is awesome! It all started when Benny DJ'd a few events I was at, including a wedding, I knew he'd be perfect for our day.

When I first contacted him he told me exactly how the process worked - very straight forward. He also asked me questions about our event I never had even thought about - I thought "he's clearly done this before." I booked him immediately for our reception, but had other ideas for our ceremony.

When our ceremony musician fell through I contacted him and asked if he'd be willing to control the music for the reception - he said of course. We also had an hour or so for cocktail hour while we did pictures, we had a playlist set that just needed to be monitored for any glitches, he also gladly took on that job - which was a HUGE stress reliever.

A week or so before he sent us a worksheet that essentially served as a timeline for him, when to start music for dinner, when to announce bride and groom, cake cutting, speeches, do not play songs, definitely play songs, etc. - very organized!

The day of: Ben showed up the day if very prepared and was set up with plenty of time to go before go time. The ceremony instructions were followed exactly and everything went smoothly the whole night. He picked awesome music and we had an epic dance party. I felt that the music he picked was geared toward everyones likes and all sorts of people were dancing that night.

Overall he was super easy to work with and everything went smooth the day of, he was organized, prepared, and professional, and he has a great personality - perfect for being an entertainer!

Ben is hands-down THE BEST DJ you could ask for! He truly made our wedding day amazing, and it just wouldn't have been the same without him there. From stepping up in key moments to keeping the dance floor going all night, he was AMAZING!

We had a hiccup with the slideshow my father-in-law was playing (not Ben's fault it was my father-in-laws computer) and the music kept skipping even though the video kept playing. Without even having to ask him, Ben jumped in and turned off the music on the slideshow and played the exact same music over his system. He even faded the music in and out during the transitions perfectly. He's prepared for every little thing that could happen and knows exactly what to do. Like I said, Ben is AMAZING.

He was so accommodating as well. We had originally planned to have him set up at the farmhouse and we'd dance up there. However after he had already set everything up we asked him if he could move his equipment down to another location at the venue. He just said "what ever you guys want I'll make it happen". He had a great attitude about it as well and didn't push back at all.

For the actual dance portion (our favorite), he kept the dance floor packed all night. Just when people would try to leave to go get a drink, he would play the perfect song to get them to turn around and go right back to dancing. We had a few specific requests for songs/moments during the dance and he played them at the perfect time and made it amazing.

Lastly, Ben has an amazing personality; is easy to get along with; and my friends and family loved him. You want a DJ that will make the day about you & your bride not themselves, and that is exactly how Ben was. Like I said, he was amazing and I truly couldn't have asked for a better DJ for the wedding. If you're looking for a DJ for your wedding, event, or party and don't use DJ Ben Christiansen (DJ ROYALE) you're an idiot. Book him now!

What can I say!? Benny was amazing throughout this whole process. As wedding planning can be high stress, he made the DJ/music part of it a breeze. He was took direction well, was flexible, professional and laid back! From last minute song changes to ordering dance lights the night before, it was flawless. Benny made it happen! My husband and I only requested one thing, that the dance floor was packed and people were unable to leave because each song kept on bringing them back. He not only packed the dance floor, but people were coming up to us afterwards and saying it was the best dance party they ever had and that Benny was "Killing it!" If you have any event, I hope you make the right choice and hire on Benny! He won't stray you wrong! Seriously made our wedding a night to remember!

We loved having Benny as our DJ! He was great with communicating on the days
leading up to our wedding and asked all the right questions to make sure
everything went smoothly and there were no surprises. I especially liked that he
made a playlist for us on Spotify with all of the songs for the ceremony to
ensure we had the right versions and allowed me to make last minute changes without stress. The ceremony music was flawless and he made sure everyone was up and dancing during

My husband and I got married in SE Portland at Lakeside Gardens. We selected DJ Royale to provide our music at our wedding because we heard such great things from friends. He was very helpful and experienced when meeting prior and during the wedding. We selected all the music that we wanted him to play and he created exactly the atmosphere we were looking for on our special day. DJ Royale also was very attuned to other parts of the event such as when people were giving speeches or making announcements. This DJ did an awesome job of playing all the songs we requested. Though the songs that were special to us ranged across all different genres -- dance, country, rock, crooners -- he blended them seamlessly and kept the dancing going all night. Everyone was having a great time: our friends, family, grandparents, kids, there was stuff for everyone. There wasn't a song that played where people weren't out on the dance floor. We received so many compliments on DJing. Awesome job! Would highly recommend if you want to see everyone having a great time.

DJ Ben did a fantastic job creating a fun atmosphere and dance party for everyone. My husband and I had a blast and felt like we really just got to sit back and enjoy the evening because Benny was doing such a great job running the show, without being overbearing. I think the best review for Ben came from my guests. I had countless guests at my wedding come up to me during the reception to thank me for playing such good music at our wedding - music that they actually wanted to listen to and liked. Personally, I don't know if I've ever attended a wedding and liked the music enough that I wanted to thank the bride and groom for it, but I literally had COUNTLESS people who approached me to thank me for the music!

I felt very flattered to receive these compliments for the music, but really all the praise goes directly to Ben. Ben listened to me and my fiance's ideas and crafted a beautiful soundtrack for our wedding day that really helped to set the tone and get everyone in the mood for a festive day of celebration and fun.

And people danced! We had people at the end of the night saying they didn't want to leave, because they were having such a good time dancing. I can't say enough good things about Ben! Ben was fantastic! My husband and I live in London and did the majority of our planning from abroad. We had a few skype calls and a lot of emails with Ben and he was always helpful and responsive (more so than me with everything I was juggling!). He was very detailed about what our needs were and ensuring he had all the logistical info he'd need for the day of. We didn't give much specific input on the music, we trusted him to read the crowd and play music that would get people dancing. The main thing I wanted was a great party where our guests were dancing and enjoying themselves, and Ben delivered. I've been to two other weddings he has DJ'd and he's done an amazing job at both. They had different vibes and both had full dance floors, which is why I knew he be great at reading the crowd.

Ben was also just great to work with, relaxed and professional, and able to handle things without any fuss, he just had things covered. A few examples...The week before the wedding we realized we needed to have a mic for the ceremony and our venue didn't have one that would work. Ben had no issues adjusting and provided the necessary equipment. I had our pre-ceremony music, processional and recessional on my phone but when none of us could find the pre-ceremony playlist as guests were arriving, he stepped in and played some of his own stuff. I also didn't think about getting my phone back from him later, and when I remembered he had already sorted it out with one of my bridesmaids to get it back into my bag. Lastly our photographer got in touch with me the next day as she'd left one of her lenses behind. Ben had realized, picked it up for her that night, and before I could start calling around they'd sorted it out without me needing to communicate between them. Ben was on top of things all night and took it all in stride.

Ben is a great DJ and a great guy, and from experiencing three weddings he's done, one as the bride, I can say he is a fantastic choice!

Ben met all of our expectations and then some. He met with us prior to our wedding to get a feel for our musical taste as well as what kind of mood we wanted set for our reception. Benny was everything we wanted in a DJ, and more! He was very easy to communicate and get along with before and during the wedding. We met up with him and discussed our vision for the event as well as emailed and chatted about the details through the planning process. Before our Special Day:
Ben insisted to meet with us to discuss our ideas and suggest some of his own, his "Do's & Don'ts" of the wedding dance party was entertaining and realistic. This settled alot of my nerves about the reception, Ben excudes an addictive smile and assuring confidence. In the coming months before our wedding Ben consistently touched base with us to make sure everything was in order as far as music, what we wanted to hear, and just to reassure us that everything was good as gold.

Day of Our Wedding:
Ben was over an hour and a half early and already set up even before any of the bridal party was there for pictures or the catering finished their set up. He had two locations for sound which I'm sure isn't always the easiest thing to accomodate but it was flawlessly done making my wedding day much less stressful. The reception was amazing, his background music after our live band finished really set the mood for a summer evening at a winery. When it came time to dance Ben's choices of music were to say the least awesome and he kept the dance floor packed until literally the very last moment the venue allowed. He even squeezed one more slow song in for good measure.

I hope this review brings Ben's DJ Royale services many other fun events to do, since I never wanted my own to end thanks to him.
I would've paid even more had I known Ben would add such a lasting impression to a monumental night that far exceeded my expectations

Ben did a great job at our wedding. His sound equipment was very professional and sounded great. He handled the sound for the ceremony and party and it was great that he could take care of everything. The guests loved the music and the dance floor was packed all night. Well done!

We chose Ben to be our DJ because we did not want "typical" wedding music (no YMCA, Celebration, etc.). Ben was eager to jump in and figure out just the right mix we wanted. He met with us beforehand and reassured us that he would not play anything we did not want. He also came to the rehearsal so he knew how the day was supposed to go.

At the wedding Ben announced different parts of our wedding and even helped cover for some hiccups in the wedding. My very particular groom was very pleased with the music Ben put together for our cocktail hour. Later, we had so much fun dancing to the music!

Ben was one of the very few wedding vendors we hired that was always on time and always professional. With all the stresses of a wedding, this was such a relief.

I cannot recommend Ben highly enough. He definitely knows how to throw a party!

I would highly recommend Ben Christiansen for a wedding or any other venue requiring music or microphones. He was the DJ for our wedding ceremony and reception which were at two different locations at Bridal Veil lakes in the Columbia Gorge in June, 2008. Ben was extremely professional and flexible throughout the process. He agreed to meet with us months before the event to discuss our specific interests in terms of the playlist and our needs at the venue. He also agreed to be present at the wedding rehearsal. On our wedding day, he was both punctual and perfect during the ceremony covering the seating music as well as the entrance of the wedding party. He also provided sound for microphones used during the ceremony without a glitch. He then raced over to the other side of the venue to set-up for the reception and was perfectly on cue during our entrance as well as throughout the evening. His quality of service is remarkable. His value for the cost, outstanding. Ben is a good friend to whom I entrusted a very important job on my most important day. He delivered better that I could have ever expected.

Pacific North Fresh Inc, aka Ben DJed my wedding at the Wonder Ballroom on March 14, 2009. For starters, Ben is a consummate professional, a great listener, and an all-around fun person to work with. He seamlessly kept the evening moving through dinner, speakers, first dance, and parents' dances, while maintaining a low profile onstage. As if that wasn't enough, he proceeded to throw down and kept the dance floor packed all night long. Almost two years later, my friends and family are still talking about how much fun they had dancing at my wedding and I have Ben to thank for that. Even the staff at the Wonder Ballroom was impressed by Ben's musical selections, diversity of his playlist, and his ability to read the room and keep the party going. I would highly recommend Ben to anyone who wants to ensure that their dance party is a complete success.

Hiring a great DJ was super important for us on our special day. Lucky for us, we remembered Benny from an event many years ago where he DJ-ed! He did an excellent job and listened to all my concerns and wants for the wedding day.

Benny is da bomb!

Benny knows how to bring down the house! He has incredible talent in actually mixing songs and sick beats, not just hitting "play" from a pre-made playlist. Moreover, he was self-sufficient in setting up the equipment and made all the music, from the ceremony to cocktail hour to reception, transition so seamlessly. He was punctual, professional and nice.

DJ ROYALE was helpful, cheerful and dependable.
My daughter struggled with music choices. He made some suggestions but let her be the guide. The day of the wedding it was 90 plus, very hot! We had a nice area set up but it was still extremely warm. No complaints just a "can do" attitude. Super nice guy!!

I hired Benny because he is a longtime friend, and because he has performed DJ services for other friend's weddings. We had a little bit of glitchy communication at times, but nothing that wasn't easily resolved, and Ben always made sure to come through for us. He did a fantastic job at our wedding and we couldn't be more pleased with the end result!!!

Communication with DJ Ben from beginning to end was easy and helpful. He did a great job with the music, kept people dancing (on the dance floor and in line at the photo booth), played the music we requested, and stuck around a bit longer while the party was still going. As things died down he slowed things down a bit for one last dance before we hit the road.

DJ Royale did as promised! I wasn't expecting people to dance much as our wedding was mostly an older crowd, but the dance floor was popping! Would definitely recommend him for your wedding or other events.

Extensive experience, high quality hardware and can feel a room out. I would recommend Benny to anyone...even though he didn't play my favorite song "Shout!" He also takes incredible photos when he can during the whole event

Benny was great! He was super friendly to all of our guests and made the party come alive. He did what we needed him to do and did not feel the need to take the mic and "MC" the evening. Benny is the BEST DJ!

Was a low light of a great experience.

Booked DJ Royale for my wedding, was unimpressed with the music selections. For a cross cultural wedding many of our guest complained about the basic music selection. Even after being given a very detailed playlist. It didn't take away from the experience but it was a low light.
