Amazing Event

Rod was amazing! We did not want the party to end! He had everyone on the dance floor and I mean even those guests who don’t ever dance! Rod communicated with us all the time and even met with us a few times to ensure our day would be perfect. He went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. I cannot recommend him enough!

Impressive!

Rod is super impressive and knows his stuff. I was instantly impressed by him and his knowledge of how to maximize parties and keep them going. Our wedding was a blast with so many people telling me how much fun they had for weeks after the wedding - I attribute this to Rod! He truly knows his stuff and makes the party the best ever!

We love DJ Rod!

DJ Rod was fantastic to work with for our wedding reception! During our initial planning consultation call, he gave us all the information we needed and worked with us to get more services still within our budget. He worked with our venue coordinator to make sure everything would run smoothly, he brought his own sound equipment and made the uplighting in the room look gorgeous, and he helped make our party a BLAST! We have gotten so many compliments on how fun the dancing was at our wedding, and we attribute that to DJ Rod's ability to keep a party going. If any friend of ours needed a DJ in the DFW area, we would highly recommend DJ Rod!

Best dj in dfw

Rod is just the best from start to finish! Rod provided the entertainment for my daughters wedding. An although it was a "dry wedding", Rod was able to keep the dance floor crowded and the guests energized! I would highly recommend Rod for your event!

Best dj ever

We hired Rod after my husband met him at Brik open house and basically fell in love. He took the time to really get to know us and our musical style, listen to ideas we had for aspects of the ceremony and reception, and really make us feel part of the whole process. Rod is extremely kind and professional and makes you feel like an old friend every time you see him! He knows how to work a dance floor and was so wonderful at reassuring my worrisome self throughout the night that he had everything under control- which of course he did! I cannot imagine our wedding day without him. All of our friends and family are still talking about “how incredible DJ Rod was” and many have made comments about it being the best wedding party they’ve been to! We are so thankful for everything he did for us and would hire him again for any other occasion in a heartbeat. He is truly one of a kind in this industry,

Dj rod rocks!

We had DJ Rod take care of our wedding ceremony and reception music, as well as our reception uplighting in the venue, plus a light up monogram- and it was AMAZING! His process for filling out the style of music we wanted was easy to use, and he totally got our vision and musical style for our wedding. The dance floor was literally PACKED the entire reception- there were no lulls in the dancing which was awesome and exactly what we wanted. It was truly a PARTY. He took care of us from beginning to end, and we couldn’t imagine our wedding day without him!

Don't choose ANYONE but Rod Baker for your D.J.

When your daughter is getting married - and you are in the wedding industry - you know the best and you want the best - DJ Rod Baker was that person for us! Honestly I almost didn't contact him because I couldn't believe he would be available for the price range we chose. Having him as the D.J. was a dream that thankfully turned into a reality!
He took time to interview my son-in-law and daughter to find out exactly what they wanted. He worked with them throughout the process. He was patient and professional and even worked with her dad on special music. Rod is the consummate professional - he cares about every detail - he researches the venue to make sure the sound will be perfect. I could go on and on - the dance floor was full all night and he mixed old and new perfectly.
You want to not have to worry about your wedding and your D.J. - you want to be stress free. The minute Rod said, "Yes." I knew that everything would turn out perfectly!
We are so blessed to know you, Rod. Thank you for making Scott's and Annabel's night everything they hoped and more!

Rod was amazing to work with from start to finish. He was so involved and helped make our day so perfect and fun. He even let me DJ a little bit ;). Our guests had so many positive things to say too about him and his entertainment style. He helped mix our first dance song, as well as the mother/son dance song—flawless. Perfectly Executed & PACKED Dance Floor!

We can't begin to say how thankful we are that we found Rod to DJ our wedding this past weekend and entertain our friends and family. He was immediately personable and easy to work with upon first meeting, and he did not disappoint the day/night of! Rod not only worked with our planner to make sure our ceremony flowed perfectly, but he was also perfect as far as smaller details such as lighting, cocktail hour music and helping to prep our toast givers.

Most importantly . . . the dance floor! Our dance floor stayed PACKED from the second Rod played the first song until our closing song. Our friends and family were having so much fun that we asked Rod to "encore" for 20 more minutes of dancing. The party was so fun that 90 minutes on the dance floor only felt like 10, and we wished it could've gone even longer! We would work with Rod again in a heartbeat and recommend him to anyone looking for a wonderfully executed and FUN event. Thank you, Rod! - The Drinans (Julie and Zak)

DJ Rod Baker III was FABULOUS!!! He ran all the music for our ceremony (flawless) and then hopped over to the reception where he made sure the schedule of events flowed seamlessly and those with dancing feet kept dancing. It was a Sunday brunch wedding, so I was worried we'd lose the fun party feel that comes easier on a Saturday night, but Rod did a great job and the Bride and Groom got the party they wanted. He was on time and professional and worked well with our coordinator and other vendors. He communicated with me prior to the event so that we were all on the same page come wedding day. 5 stars!!!

Rod made our wedding night a flawless experience. He was extremely easy to communicate with prior to the wedding and took into consideration any and all requests that we had. He was an excellent MC and had the dance floor filled and overflowing with dancing guests until the last minute. The quality of music was excellent, the upstage lighting was perfect. Our experience was fantastic! Rod is the perfect person to have on your side during your big day. We had a themed wedding mixed with traditional touches and he was really enthusiastic about the venue, the small details, and helped us incorporate it into the music and announcements. Having someone just as enthusiastic about making this day special as you are, is a huge relief. The best part is where I needed help/guidance, he gave it. Where I had something I wanted to incorporate, he did it. He is really good at making it YOUR day with YOUR vision, but making sure it's successful with his knowledge and his experience. Our wedding was an older crowd, so I was worried about the participation on the dance floor and the energy not being there, but Rod did an amazing job keeping the energy level high, keeping people engaged through out, and communicated very well with my other vendors to keep everything moving smoothly. I received tons of compliments from our guests on the music selections and volume level. I'm not sure how our day would've turned out if it wasn't for his expertise and knowledgeable suggestions. As the bride, I had never planned a wedding before, and I didn't have a wedding planner, so I had no idea what I was doing and Rod helped so much with planning the timeline for the night. On top of this, I had unique selections for our first dance and my walk down the aisle, but he made it work. You should definitely book with DJ Rod Baker.

Rod Baker is a fantastic DJ. He really is fun to work with and listens to how you want the event to flow. He has done this a long time and knows how to read a party and adjust the music as needed. I have used him for both of my daughter’s weddings. My older daughter was married in January 2018. She and her husband had specific songs for a few things but in general just left it up Rod. He had the dance floor hopping and everyone, from 16 to 90 years old was having a really fun time. My younger daughter was married in May 2018. She and her husband had Rod do the ceremony music as well as the reception. They had specific songs for everything, from Prelude to final dance. For the reception they had a lot of songs they didn’t want played and a few that they definitely wanted played. Rod worked around their rejects and used their definites to create a fantastic party. They wanted a full on party and he gave them that. The planners kept saying the dance floor was way too big, but Rod kept everyone dancing all night long. He has done this a long time and knows how to read a party and adjust the music as needed. He doesn’t try to be a part of the party, but just does his job and emcees as needed. You cannot go wrong booking Rod for your event. He is great. He really is fun to work with and listens to how you want the event to flow.

You really can’t beat Rod! Great resources provided for pre-event planning, the entire process is set up to allow for a tailor made experience for your special day. Rod was available and responsive for any questions, and open to find anything we needed. Very professional at all times. We planned our wedding from 1100 miles away, to have something as important as your DJ perform so well with such little hassle was a blessing. Highly recommended!

Rod Baker was AMAZING. Everyone at our reception had a blast! Rod kept the party rolling and the dance floor was literally filled the entire time. He responded to our emails quickly, had great advice during our wedding planning process, and created an amazing reception timeline for us. Rod is probably one of the best, if not the best DJ in DFW! We interviewed several DJ's, and after meeting with Rod we had no doubt he was the one for us. He was so well-prepared for our first meeting, asked us a ton of questions, answered a ton of our questions, and even had a preliminary timeline prepared for us. It was obvious he knew what he was doing. He had so many great ideas that we never would have thought of. He sent us a link for a planning form and website where we could choose songs for our reception and also give him genres we wanted played for each part of the evening. During our reception, he coordinated all the evening's events and kept everything on schedule. He did a great job reading the room and knowing when to play what music. Everyone loved him! Also, his equipment was absolutely the best quality and everything could be heard from every corner of the room (he even had a speaker in the bar area connected through wi-fi). Rod is a super cool guy and such a professional!

Rod was absolutely awesome! He did our wedding on 9/22/17 and we're still getting compliments about the music selection at our wedding. I have a pretty eclectic taste in music and wanted to play some of our less popular choices, but still get all of our guests excited. Rod did just that! Our dinner music was awesome, included Radiohead, Vampire Weekend, The Civil Wars. Our reception music was awesome! I honestly wasn't expecting our wedding to be so fun, and Rod really made it awesome and dance-worthy.

Rod was incredible from start to finish! My wedding planner set-up a meeting so I could see Rod's personality. As soon as I walked I out, I knew I wanted to hire him! It was one of the best decisions of the entire wedding planning process. He really cared about my vision for what I wanted for the wedding. My fiance couldn't make the meeting but Rod called to talk to him to make sure he had a good feel as who we were as a couple. Rod wanted to make sure he incorporated both of our personalities into everything. Anytime we had a question, he was quick to respond. Anytime we wanted to do a quick meeting or walk-through of the venue, he would work with us to make sure he could be there. He helped us find great versions of several songs we wanted to dance to. Come the wedding reception, everything was amazing! We gave him a few songs that we wanted played and then he created the rest of the playlist. My husband and I had many, many people come up to us ask who made the playlist because they loved it. All we could say was that it was Rod because he is the one that did it. He has an incredible knack for reading the room and knowing what to play next. Without him our wedding would not have been a success. Rod was a huge part of everything and we cannot thank him enough. He went above and beyond our expectations!!

Rod was truly the MC for my daughter's wedding. They forgot to submit a play list and he did a phenomenal job. He kept the party moving and included all of the important elements. I would ask him for future to contact the couple if he is still not in receipt of the playlist. All was great though.

Rod was so amazing! From the moment I spoke to him on the phone I knew he was a great match for our wedding! My husband and I are not from Texas so I planned my wedding by phone and email - Rod was so easy to work with and accommodating of my schedule. The night of the wedding, I was so impressed at his professionalism and the music he selected for the night fit my husband and I perfectly! We only had 35 of our closest family at the wedding and there was not one song where the dance floor wasn't going crazy. You will not be disappointed!

The atmosphere at our daughter's wedding dinner/reception was memorable and truly perfect, in large part due to Rod. The respective moods his music created at different times was 'spot on'! Everyone, and I mean everyone, had such a wonderful time --people were out on the dance floor that hadn't been on a dance floor in years -- what a tremendous credit to his talent to be able to draw people out like that, particularly at a 'dry' wedding reception. He was absolutely incredible!!!! Our wedding was almost one year ago to the day and we will talk about how amazing it was---a large part of that had to do with Rod. He was so great at keeping the flow of the wedding going; keeping all the events on time/on track--he had the perfect plan for anytime their was a "lull" in the dancing. He was extremely accommodating at meeting all of our requests for songs/traditions/etc. My wedding coordinator had a baby 7 days before my wedding so she left early on our actual wedding (totally understandable) and Rod stepped up and did an amazing job at essentially taking the coordinator role at the end of the night as well! He is worth every single dollar and I recommend him to every single friend of mine that is engaged in DFW.

Rod was SPECTACULAR!!! From the moment I first emailed him, I had a feeling he was the guy. I was so nervous about picking a DJ because I know they are the ones that drive the party! Rod and I met at a coffee shop for our first meeting and he was just as amazing in person. He is genuinely happy, upbeat, excited, right to the point...just what I needed. Rod made sure to find out exactly what I wanted and how I envisioned my wedding reception; he then went right into structuring the night for me--at our first meeting!! From then on, he was super easy to contact. He was the most amazing DJ I could have ever asked for--he made my wedding night SO much fun!!! He was great at giving advice to my toast givers, telling us all what to do, coordinating with my coordinator, and then making the night the most fun I could have ever imagined. Rod was great about making suggestions and helping me with decisions on how I wanted the night to run. He did great with my 200 guests and the normal lulls that happen at every wedding reception--he kept the party going, which is exactly what I wanted! He even tolerated my ornery grampa giving him a hard time!
One of the best things about this guy is he always has a big ol' smile on his face. I could go on and on about this guy but I'll end with this--Rod is your guy!!!!!! From music, to lighting, to a monogram projected onto a wall...he's got everything. I wish I could get married again, just so I could have him DJ again!

We hired Rod to DJ our wedding after hearing great reviews from some of the coordinators at our venue, Piazza in the Village. Once we had picked our venue and wedding date, we knew that choosing our DJ would be our next important decision.. and we without a doubt made the right decision! When we first reached out to Rod he asked us to meet in person so we could be sure that there was a fit on both sides... Although I'd never expected anyone to want to interview us before accepting our business, it made me respect Rod all the more! He isn't in this just to win business and make money, he's in this to make each client happy and each wedding (or other event) memorable, and making sure we had a good personality fit was very important to how our night would ultimately turn out. By the time our wedding rolled around, we had been working with Rod for just about 1 year. We didn't speak every day or even every month early on, but about 3 months before the wedding, our communication picked right up where we'd left it. Rod made suggestions on how our entire evening should flow, from first dances to cake cutting and speeches, right down to our final exit. What I didn't realize when we started this process was how influential Rod would be in the tone and flow of our entire evening. He knew exactly when to pick up the speed in our music, and when to bring it back down so that our guests knew something important was happening (cake cutting, etc). Our dance floor was packed for the entire evening and there wasn't a single guest there that wanted to leave when he called for the last song of the night. Unbeknownst to me, or anyone else in the room, Rod's laptop actually went into an automatic update with about 20 minutes left in our reception. This could have been disastrous for someone less experienced, but Rod knew exactly what to do to keep the party going without skipping a beat! I can't speak highly enough of Rod and his services - he is worth every penny!

When my wife and I were planning our wedding, one of the biggest concerns was finding a good DJ that would read a crowd well and play the right type of music for our crowd. Well I can tell you Rod hit a home run out of the park! We are just so thankful that we went with Rod to DJ our wedding, it couldn't have gone better. Rod was awesome! I knew from our very first meeting that he was a pro and was going to be great! He was super friendly and easy to work with. He takes the time to get to know you and goes over every detail of how the night will go once he knows what you want. Rod has great ideas to make your party incredible. One of my favorite parts of the night was Rod's suggestion of a private last dance for just my husband and I at the end of the reception! Rod knows what it takes to run a reception/party and I would hire him again in a heartbeat! Thank you Rod for everything!

My wife and I can't recommend Rod enough. We scoped out a number of DJs before we met Rod, and we both knew half way through that first meeting that we wanted Rod at our wedding. He has obviously been working at his craft for many years, as he knew the right questions to ask, what vibe we were going for and what we wanted (and absolutely didn't want) played during our wedding night. He hit all the favorites and lot of classic songs, and kept our dance floor bumping till the finale at midnight.

Rod was a pleasure to work with and we had zero concerns about how the night's entertainment would go. We would absolutely recommend Rod to anyone for their wedding. Thanks, Rod!

We were told by friends that Rod Baker was the best in the DFW area, and they were correct! Rod is an awesome DJ. He kept the wedding flowing and fun. The dance floor was packed with guests all night. He comes highly recommended! He made our day perfect!

If I could give more than 5 stars I would!! Rod was AMAZING. Not only at the wedding, but leading up to it - he was exceptional at our initial consultation, and revealed to us that he is so much more than just a DJ. He knew exactly how to keep the party going, and really wanted to get to know us and our music tastes. We had a large amount of open-dance time with only about 115 guests (which we all know means only about 80-90 by the time open-dance starts) so we were a little nervous that the dancefloor would be empty - but Rod ensured that didn't happen. We had so many people on the dancefloor, we actually had people OUTSIDE dancing! Not only did he keep the party going, he was so open to any "out of the ordinary" requests and executed them without batting an eye. My dad wanted to surprise me with his father-of-the-bride/welcome speech and incorporated some music in his speech, which was very unorthodox, but Rod pulled it off without a stitch! & it ended up being a moment that meant SO much to me, but also a speech everyone remembered and loved because it was so unique. I cannot say enough about Rod - he was everything and made our day even better than we could have expected. If you're on the fence, don't think twice - just hire him immediately!

Rod was amazing! We knew right away when we met with him that we wanted to book him for our wedding. His energy and knowledge of how to run a wedding made us feel at ease. We would also tell he liked our eclectic tastes in music and had an idea how to get the Beatles to fit with 80s pop and current hits. He helped make our event special by listening to our music requests but using his expertise to make the dance portion of the night a fun dance party. Our guests had a blast!

Rod was awesome! He really does know how to make a wedding run smoothly and all of my guests had a BLAST!! We met with Rod before the wedding and at this time we could tell her really loves what he does! We emailed back and forth before the wedding and he was so patient when I kept adding or changing last minute songs. He was so much fun and so easy to work with. Everybody should use Rod!!

Rod came highly recommended by my planner, and after interviewing several DJs, u knew Rod was the one after just a few minutes of our initial chat.

Rod is extremely personable and it was very clear he was experienced. I had heard that my venue had some sound issues (it was a large ballroom with marble floors and high ceilings), but Rod assured me he could work around this and he sure did!

We had a mixed wedding with some Indian traditions, so we wanted some Bollywood songs mixed in with our dance floor tunes. We also requested a shortened version of songs for our first dances. I also included a surprise dance for our guests at the last minute - Rod was able to accommodate all of this!

Leading up to the event, Rod was really helpful in responding to all of my questions and explained everything I needed to know. He also has a website set up so you can request the songs you like, list the ones you don't, etc. This made it super easy to make sure we loved all our music.

Day of, Rod arrived on time and was totally ready to rock when our guests started arriving. He also kept us on time with our schedule and made sure people had a great time.

I'd highly recommend him to others, he's fun, knows how to throw a great party, and is very affordable. He definitely made our reception memorable!!

I LOVE ROD!!! He totally gets how the evening should move. He was a perfect MC and had complete control of the room. My only complaint is that something special that he does for the bride and her dad was supposed to make my dad cry, NOT ME!!! But I guess I can overlook that since the evening was perfect. He offered to bring in lights when my lighting company was acting really sketchy about whether they were going to show up or not. He even kept a guest from making an awkward toast in the middle of the night. Sometimes we just have to save people from their good intentions. Thank you so much, Rod. You were perfect!

Rod was great to work with. He had done several weddings at our venue and had lots of great ideas to use the unique space well. He also suggested some unique additions that really meant a lot to our family, and to the two of us. When we met with Rod prior to the wedding we told him we wanted a fun party where everyone wanted to join in the dancing, and he definitely pulled it off. To our surprise the crowd on the dance floor even included some of our parents and their friends. Rod and his assistant were also really helpful with smaller details too like dismissing tables for dinner and making sure everyone got a parking pass. He was great to work with and did a wonderful job.

Rod was without a doubt the best DJ I have ever heard at a wedding. He is amazing!! I had so many people tell me they loved my wedding and specifically mention him as their favorite part. He felt out the crowd and knew exactly what to play throughout the entire night. If you can get him on your day, don’t even think twice about it. Just book him.

Rod was the best wedding DJ ever! He is so personable and professional. I knew that I would have absolutely nothing to worry about at our wedding reception with Rod in charge. He helped me planned the timeline, made sure my husband and I knew what was going on and where we were supposed to be, and most of all made our night fun for everyone! We knew we wanted Rod to be our DJ the moment we met him. We loved his warm personality and energy. He took time to get to know us and find out what kind of reception we wanted to fit our personalities. He has a huge song list website that allowed us to listen, view, and pick songs easily for different parts of the ceremony and reception. His equipment was top notch, which allowed everyone to hear ours vows perfectly, and also allowed the dance floor in the reception hall to be bumping. He was very responsive and a joy to work with. The dance floor stayed full till the very last song. He read the crowd perfectly. There was never a single dull moment during the entire night. It was perfect. He kept things running smoothly the entire night. He even took the time to make a voice recording for the mother & son dance, that was a very special & intimate part of the reception. He took all of our ideas and molded them to perfection. He is one of the best DJ's in the DFW area & working with him proved why. We highly recommend Rod for your wedding or event!!

Rod's the best. He was the first vendor that we selected and we had absolutely no worries with him. He is a professional in the truest sense and he seriously knows what he is doing. Our wedding music was perfect and we had SO many people come up to us and say "I can't believe you're playing this song! I LOVE THIS!". Rod was always so responsive and he took complete control of our reception and it was fantastic. If you're looking for a DJ for your wedding, look no further. I've received a ton of comments from friends saying how awesome our DJ was and a couple of them asked for his name/info so they could hire him for their weddings! He kept the party going the entire time - and is great at doing that without needing to rely on playing 4 line dancing songs back-to-back. He also upholds the play/do not play list VERY well!! We couldn't be happier with his services!

Amazing!! Rod was a delight to work with for our NYE'13 wedding (I'm very overdue with these reviews, I know!).

His tools for song selection, or songs to avoid, were helpful and easy to use. I had questions about some songs, and he was always very quick to respond to any question or concern that I had. He also had great insight in creating a nice 'flow' of the event, and it was incredibly helpful.

He was on cue with every song for each event (garter toss, dances, etc), and always had a smile on his face. He graciously took requests from guests, even if it was for a cheesy line dance (he and I both agreed we weren't into that, but it got the crowd going, so you can't win them all)!

I have no complaints with Rod and the services he provided. I had one DJ subtly complain about having a NYE wedding while I was interviewing him, whereas Rod smiled and was eager to work with us. I continue to recommend him for all of my friends that are/will be getting married. He's top notch!!

Rod is the man! I am such an awful bride--my wedding was over 8 months ago and I am just now writing this--but better late than never! When I was planning my wedding, I knew that the most important piece for having a successful reception is the music. Unfortunately, I did not know anyone in Dallas who could point in the direction of a good DJ, nor did I know how to select a DJ. So my mother-in-law and I went by what we would read in reviews like the one I am writing. I am so grateful we did! I was in China when I read about Rod and he agreed to have our first meeting over Skype. That is when we "clicked." He answered all the questions I had and all the questions I did not have and truly tried to get to know me and my expectations in order to deliver. And he definitely delivered! Rod knows his craft and masters it. What he brought to my wedding was priceless... his talent goes beyond music. Rod planned my entire reception timeline! From the lighting, to the grand entrance, the cake cutting, the bouquet toss, etc... everything was perfect and smooth. Rod brought me peace of mind on one of the most important days of my life. He was my rock when my florist announced me that she completely failed me less than an hour before the ceremony started (she did not have any of center pieces I had ordered nor my ceiling decors). Rod is simply awesome and if you are still looking for a DJ, stop here; you have found the one! Thank you Rod!

Hiring a DJ can be the scariest part of the wedding planning, since there's not really any way to experience how the DJ will be ahead of time. But brides, trust me - hire Rod! He was amazing from our very first meeting - which was on skype since I was planning a Dallas wedding from California. He walked me through our whole timeline, and he was completely receptive to my ideas and to the tone I wanted for my reception. He was able to edit several songs for us in under a week, and he was nothing but friendly and professional during the entire planning process. I had told Rod that I didn't have a wedding planner, and he was so gracious in helping run the reception the entire night. I honestly didn't worry once about when certain things like the bouquet toss, etc. would happen, because I knew Rod would handle it. And every single guest who I've talked to since has mentioned how amazing the dance songs were. I'm not exaggerating - there were people dancing up a storm the entire night. With every song, guests would yell "I love this song!" Seriously. The dancing was my favorite memory of the entire reception. I've been to other weddings where there are always a few musical "duds" throughout the night, but it just didn't happen with Rod. Brides, ensure that your reception will be so non-stressful and so FUN - hire Rod!

DJ Rod was awesome! From our first meeting, he listened to what we wanted and immediately came up with a plan as to how things should go. He was super easygoing and flexible with what we wanted. I kept making changes and adding things to the timeline all the way up to the day-of and Rod quickly replied back to all of my requests.

The day of the wedding, Rod's calm and collected attitude made things run smoothly from the ceremony through to the reception. He played all the tunes we wanted and kept all of our friends out on the dance floor. Not everything went as planned, but he was super adaptable and did whatever was needed to make the party go well.

You can tell Rod loves what he does and it comes very natural to him. I would definitely recommend DJ Rod and would hire him again if had the chance!

When my fiance and I first met with Rod, we knew it was going to be a good match. He's so laid back, easy going and yet you can still tell he's an absolute expert at what he does. He has methods and procedures for everything that really and truly work to make sure that everyone at your event has a fantastic time. We even managed to get my grandmother out on the dance floor when I NEVER thought would happen!

He worked with us on some of our more "non traditional" requests and made everything absolutely perfect for the ceremony and the reception. If we ever need a DJ for a party in the future, Rod's our first stop.

Rod truly made our wedding night the most perfect night of our lives. He did an absolute FLAWLESS job and we can't thank him enough. We had Rod as our DJ for our wedding, and I can't say enough amazing things about him!! From the first time I talked to him, I knew he had a fun personality, just the kind of person you want to "run" your party! I went back and forth between wanting a band or a DJ, but one of the things that made me want a DJ was because you can get whatever song or music you want-- and Rod is incredible at this! I am so glad I went with him! I made so many special requests: from random, obscure songs I wanted played, songs edited to remove singing, and playing a recording of my grandpa's music as our exit song. We recorded a surprise message for my father/daughter dance, and my dad was shocked and loved it-- brought tears to his eyes. Even for the father daughter dance, he combined two songs for me. I am SO glad I went with Rod for our wedding-- it would not have been the same without him and he added so many touches throughout the night that kept things fun and special. The main thing we wanted for our wedding was for people to have fun and dance, and Rod kept the dance floor packed, many people never leaving for a single song (my husband and I included, as well as our parents!). He is easy to talk to, responds very quickly, reads the crowd in order to keep the flow going, and knows all the little details that need to be taken care of (including things that you won't remember, or even think about). He is truly a professional who excels at what he does. People kept saying how much fun our wedding was, and I know that is because Rod kept the party going. Thank you so much, Rod!!

Rod was amazing and knows his craft! We met him at an open house event at our venue, heard great things about him and knew that he is a very busy man. I knew that if he was a DJ that was busy, that meant that he had a lot of bookings, which meant that we must be a fantastic DJ!! Rod was available for our wedding date and from the moment we booked him, he worked his DJ magic. Rod was accessible to email and would respond so quickly to our questions (still baffled at how he did this with his busy schedule). When we met with him to go over our ideas and timeline, he knows his stuff!! Rod helped us coordinate particular add-ins to the reception and took care of all of the details. The day of our wedding, Rod had everything planned out and everything was perfect. He put my mind at ease and I truly appreciate his enthusiasm, kindness and attention to detail in making our wedding day absolutely amazing! I highly recommend Rod!!! He helped me out in a big way. I had talked to another DJ prior to signing with Rod. That 1st DJ called and said he would no longer be able to DJ my event. I was frantically looking for a DJ. I emailed Rod and he responded with in the hour that he had my wedding date available!!!!! He was very flexible with my work schedule and was able to meet with me later that week. Once I met Rod, I knew that I wanted to hire him. He was just as excited as I was when he found out that I was getting married at the Ranges Ballpark!! He had lots of questions and ideas for me!!! I loved this, b/c I honestly did not know which place to start as far as music for the ceremony and reception. He came up with a draft for the timeline for my wedding and where to play music and start dancing. I told him that this sounded perfect and that the timeline would work with my day!!! During the months prior to the wedding, Rod would check in and make sure that things were still going good and if I needed anything. He sent me an outline prior to the wedding so that I could make sure everything was still good for the music. I met with Rod 2 weeks before the wedding and I had yet to figure out ceremony music. He knew that I did not want traditional music. He asked me what songs I was thinking and I told him. He had 2 out of 3 instrumental versions and I absolutely fell in love. The third song he did not have yet as an instrumental, but he told me that song would be perfect for me to walk out to and he found it for me while he was sitting with me!!!! I was so excited that he could do that and I knew that my wedding would be perfect!!!! I don't think he truly realizes how much he helped me by having theses songs!!!!! Once the wedding came Rod was available when ever I needed him. He helped with little things through the wedding if I needed him. He was more then willing to Help with anything!! I could not have asked for a better DJ!!!!! Rod is AMAZING!

I can't say how truly thankful I am for having Rod Baker as our DJ. He was so helpful and was very flexible to all the changes that come with planning a wedding. He was there on time and ready to go, so it was nice not having to stress as a bride. He had his own suggestions that were very helpful in the planning process. Everything I wanted he did it. He even made a very special song for the father daughter dance, it had everyone there crying and my dad absolutely loved it! It was perfect! I can't say thank you enough!

It's been a month now since my wedding and people are still telling me what a fun time they had at the reception because of our amazing DJ. Rod was recommended to me by my event coordinator, who spoke so highly of him. I feel blessed that he was available for our date as many brides I know had wanted to book him, but his scheduled was already filled (... if you're considering Rod as your wedding DJ, don't wait 'til the end of this review-- call him now and book him!)

Our year of wedding planning was on the stressful side and we ended up cutting our guestlist significantly shorter. I was very concerned that the reception wouldn't be lively due to the smaller crowd, but Rod was more than prepared. He has an incredible intuition for feeling the "vibe" of a room and knowing what music will gravitate the partygoers to the dance floor. As an emcee, he was perfect-- professional and charismatic, but not obtrusive. He kept the spotlight on us, and helped to shape the reception program into a seamless transition from one event to the next.

Our "small" crowd of ~70 filled the dance floor all night and went home happy with tired dancing feet (my idea of a successful evening!) Thanks to his professionalism and wisdom, I was able to take a step back from my usual type-A controlling tendencies and dance the night away with my loved ones.

He had great ideas for special touches and surprises that really made the wedding personal and memorable (without being over-the-top or cheesy). From a recorded message to my dad before our dance, to being the best sport when I emailed him at the last minute wanting to sing a solo to my groom as a surprise-- and being completely supportive of our geekiness in wanting to walk into the reception to the Star Wars theme song and end the night with a private sweetheart dance to the Jurassic Park theme.

While I'd definitely consider his services affordable, the caliber of professionalism he has is absolutely priceless. Thank you, Rod!!

We are "three-peat" customers. Rod provided his DJ/MC service for our daughter's wedding in Aug. 2011, Christmas office party in Dec. 2012, and our son's wedding this past weekend. And every time, our guest have shared how much they enjoyed themselves, dancing the night away. I'm a perfectionist, I admit it, and I truly appreciate his professional manner, organized ways, and attention to details. I guess you could say Rod Baker is our "go to guy" anytime we have a party.

My husband and I were fortunate to have what I believe are the best vendors in DFW for all of our wedding services. Rod specifically was an absolute pleasure to work with. He was very responsive to all of my random thoughts emails, and did his best to personalize the entire night for us. The dance floor was packed all night and our guests raved about him. He was well in tune with the staff of the venue as well as my husband and myself to make our wedding night run seamlessly. He hit the nail on the head with the music and entertained EVERYONE at our wedding. I have never seen my parents on the dance floor as much as they were that night! One of the highlights of the night was the anniversary dance. I looked so forward to this moment as it is a dance where all married couples are on the Dance floor and as the song goes by we have to leave the dance floor based on the length of our marriage. The last 3 couples on the floor were my Parents and both of my Mom’s siblings. It was such a cool moment :) It was all of the little touches exactly like this that make Rod the best DJ I have ever seen at any event. What a great guy!

Rod is absolutely the best DJ ever! The party never stopped at our wedding, and by the end I was completely exhausted from all the dancing! He knew just when to mix in the songs we requested with the hit dance songs to keep everyone going. He is incredibly organized and had everything planned out perfectly, so I never had to worry about a thing! He even kept my garter safe at his DJ table and gave me a 5-minute warning before the toss so I wouldn't have to wear it the whole time. :) Rod thinks of everything! When he announced that there were only 3 songs left, all my guests were so disappointed. I would absolutely recommend Rod to anyone who wanted to have a fabulous party and be worry-free in the process! Thanks, Rod!

Ok, there is one thing everyone remembers from your wedding and its the party. The ceremony is great, the food is good. But its the party everyone talks about. I have to say with Rod Baker you will have the most memorable night you can imagine. He was amazing at keeping the party flowing, there was literally not a dull moment. We have had so many people tell us how much fun they had our wedding night. If you want to have an amazing night that you will continue to remember for years to come. Rod Baker can make that happen.

Rod was the perfect fit for our wedding! We did not have a wedding coordinator, so we wanted a DJ who would take change and guide us trough our reception. Rod did that beautifully. The reception flowed flawlessly, the party was fantastic, and everything was perfect. I would hire him again in a heartbeat!!!

What a fantastic DJ, I would highly recommend him to any bride. He understood exactly what the reception needed and made everyone that came feel like they were family. You should only hire Rod Baker if...you want a perfect reception that flows seamlessly and effortlessly all night! He has a talent for what he does and the best part is he enjoys himself and makes sure everyone else does too! He is great with reading people and, more importantly, the Bride and Groom. He knows exactly what to play and when so everyone can't help but to get on their feet and have a good time! Our wedding was during the worst ice storm the DFW area has seen in a while. I had vendors calling all day offering to cancel or reschedule because they didn't want to get out in the weather. But not Rod! He was one person I wasn't worried about cancelling! I knew he would be there for us one way or another and he was! Thank you Rod for everything you did to make our day perfect as Mr. & Mrs. We won't forget it!

If you want a DJ that will turn your wedding from a mismatched question mark to everything you thought you could want, and more, then Rod is your guy.

He is there to make you happy. His dedication to making the night as enjoyable as possible is really a great quality. He has many different ideas for many different occasions, and will even help you out if you've got no clue (like me). He does the whole Master of Ceremonies thing, and does is very well.

He is also very creative, and will do everything possible to fix problems! The microphone was not picking up our Officiant's mic, so Rod jumped up with the antenna and got it working!

He will listen to everything you want, and will give it to you. We wanted trivia during our dinner, and needed him to announce winners at the end, and he did a great job! He even gave us a great suggestion of handing out signed photos as prizes, which everyone that won LOVED.

He's great with communication, and won't leave you hanging. He's on Facebook, so that made it easy.

He's all for traditional, but he's also great at non-traditional as well (My husband and I are total nerds and I walked down the isle to the Operatic part of the Diva song from "The Fifth Element", our recessional was from the throne room of Star Wars, and got it perfect.

Totally worth the money, if you can snag him!

We initially couldn't decide if we wanted a DJ or a band for our reception. After I met with Rod, I knew we HAD to have him just to keep the party running smoothly and to tie in small details that would truly make our reception unique to us. (He has great ideas to make sure your party isn't anything like the last 10 parties you attended...and he includes things that make your event memorable to your guests) Although Rod was more than willing to work with a band if we had decided to go that route, we opted to go without the band and we have zero regrets. His Type-A personality put me at ease because I knew he had everything under control and wouldn't let anything slip through the cracks. His outgoing personality and extensive knowledge and experience put my fiance (now husband!!) at ease because "he just knows what he's doing!" You can't go wrong with Rod Baker/DFW Parties...and you won't find anyone better! Oh! He also did all the sound for our ceremony as well....totally flawless, he even had the songs we (parents, grandparents, bridal party, bride) walked in to timed just right. I'll never know how he did that! :)

Rod is fantastic!!! Everything on the big night was perfect from the music for the ceremony through the last song of the night. Several of the guests commented that it was the best wedding ever - no one wanted to stop dancing. If you are looking for a DJ, Rod is definitely the one to book!

Rod was amazing! He met with the bride, groom and MOB and planned the wedding reception down to the minute. He thought of everything! The wedding was amazing - the bride and groom wanted lots of dancing and that's what they got! I have already had several inquiries from guests who want to use Rod in the future. Rod Baker is without a doubt THE DJ to book your wedding or event with! Right from the beginning my husband and I knew he was going to make our reception one to remember. Rod is extremely friendly and outgoing, he is always easy to get a hold of and makes sure that everything goes perfectly! My guest kept coming up to me all night saying how wonderful the DJ was, there wasn't a single body not moving on the dance floor! I will definitely be recommending all brides to book with Rod! Rod was amazing!!! I was worried about a Sunday evening wedding and the tone of the night..I knew I needed the best DJ so I booked Rod. So easy to talk to in the meetings leading up to the big day and I could tell he has soo much experience doing what he loves! He made the timeline part of the night effortless for me and worked with my vendors on how the night would play out! My husband and I are so glad we picked DJ ROD as our DJ!! From the first appointment, we knew he was our guy! We felt a connection with him and he shared our enthusiasm in preparing our wedding. He helped us create a timeline for our wedding that kept it running smoothly for us and entertaining/engaging for our guests. Our reception was bursting with energy and people packed the dance floor. He is NOT a cheesy DJ!! He does not just pick a song and press play. My husband really appreciated his skills on the "one's and two's"! He even helped my husband incorporate a surprise dance into the reception!

If you want an awesome reception, see Rod. We received so many compliments on how our wedding was the BEST wedding they had ever been to. Did we mention this was a THURSDAY NIGHT WEDDING??

My wife and I were VERY happy that we chose Rod Baker as our DJ.

Our wedding was on a Sunday afternoon, so at first we didn't think we would need a DJ. But a friend told me that 'you don't hire a DJ just to play music - you hire a DJ to control the pace of the event.' And as it turns out, that's exactly what Rod did.

Rod can read the energy of the room, and guide it - he can pep up the crowd, when there is a lull, and discover when the best time to wrap it all up, so you end on a high note. A playlist and an ipod can't do that!

We submitted our song list (complete with a few obscure picks) and he acquired every one of them! He's punctual, professional, and most of all - I cannot stress this enough: He is NOT CHEESY. He made sure that we were the center of attention, and helped craft the reception to fit our personalities.

If you are considering hiring a DJ for a special event, call Rod. Set up a meeting, and speak face-to-face with him about your needs, desires, and vision. I whole-heartedly recommend Rod Baker, and would definitely hire him again.

Rod Baker did my daughter's wedding. Just Amazing - he ran the show from start to finish. He read the crowd, acted as the MC, played a great variety of music. He is also an amazing value - two people there to handle this very important part of the reception. Everyone commented on how good he was and how they stayed til the end because it was so much fun.

If you want a great reception, one that people will stay until the very end then DJ Rod Baker is who you need to call! He helped us create a plan with our favorite music and with only the activities we wanted to include. He kept the reception flowing smoothly, it was so smooth sadly the night flew by so fast nobody was ready for it to be over! Going with Rod as our DJ was the easiest and best decision we made planning our wedding. He had such great energy from the moment that we met him and made the whole process really easy. We have received so many compliments from our guests on how great Rod was and that they loved every song he played. Overall, I don't have a single evenly slightly negative thing to say about Rod. My husband and I had the time of our lives at our reception, and it was in large part due to him. From start to finish, Rod was fantastic to work with and well worth his fee. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a rockin' wedding reception!

Rod did a spectacular job as DJ for our wedding. The event was done so seamlessly without any hiccups and we could not be more pleased with the results. Rod was extremely professional, had very quality equipment, and always made sure to keep the bride and groom at the center of everyone's focus. Rod was always attentive and prompt when we needed him. When we needed Rod to perform a favor during the ceremony, he did so without hesitation and we could not be happier with the results. I could not imagine having anyone else perform at our wedding and certainly don't think that anyone could have done a better job. I would recommend Rod's services in a heartbeat.

I cannot recommend Rod enough! He was absolutely wonderful to work with and was so helpful (and honest!) about what works during a wedding reception. I'm convinced that he has this DJ thing down to a science ;) We left every meeting with Rod saying, "We can't wait for the reception! It's going to be awesome!" Someone else made the comment that they felt like they were the only client Rod had and we felt the exact same way. He was super personable and attentive.

Rod made sure the flow of the reception was flawless. The music during dinner (a lot of which we hand picked) was great! He played our requests and filled in the rest with classics. We actually heard several people during dinner compliment on how good the music was. I cannot even begin to explain how much fun we had during the dancing part of the evening ... I barely had time to mingle with my guests because I was seriously dancing to EVERY SONG. The Cupid Shuffle and Wobble got everyone on the dance floor, but he also threw in some goodies like "Gangsta's Paradise" and Spice Girls that totally hit the spot with our crowd, too! I mean, he couldn't go wrong! We had tons of guests tell us that it's hands down the best reception that they've ever been to. We have to agree :) Thank you, Rod!!!

Absolutely a MUST BOOK. Rod didn't just create a playlist, he created the FUN atmosphere for our reception. Everyone from my Groom's grandmother to our youngest niece were breaking it down & backing it up until the very last song. He controlled the reception flow and coordinated everything with our day-of coordinator, taking us out of the go-between equation when we were at our busiest. We didn't go crazy with the playlist requests, we just picked a few songs so Rod could get an idea of what we wanted & let him take it from there. He told us at our first meeting his goal was to keep the energy in the room up & that's exactly what he did. We got complements on the music from all generations of family at our reception. DJ Rod was an excellent addition to the wedding. I very highly recommend him. I got married three days ago and I've already heard rave reviews from my guests. He went with the flow of the wedding rather than trying to adhere to a strict schedule. That really worked out well for us. He gave me plenty of warning for the major parts of the wedding, like the bouquet/garter toss and the traditional dances. He was very prepared and organized, completely professional and fun. Even my grandparents were out on the dance floor! Everyone had a blast. Thank you DJ Rod!!

During the reception he was organized and kept us on track to execute a beautiful reception and be able to meet with all our guests. He got the party started on the dance floor and no one left until after the last song. Rod, thanks so much for an unforgettable night!!!

Rod was above and beyond what we had hoped for in a wedding DJ. I'll admit I had low expectations - DJs play a few songs, say something corny, take requests, blah, blah, blah - but that's just because I've been watching DJs do it WRONG at every wedding I've ever been to.

He met with us well before the wedding to go over our likes and dislikes. He listened intently to our suggestions (even coming through on an idea we had for an out-of-the-ordinary introduction). We met a few other times leading up to the big day so he could get to know us better, which was great building that personal relationship. Then, on the day of the wedding, he executed everything to perfection.

Rod not only played great music, but he kept everyone entertained throughout the night without coming off as forced or contrived. He gave quick, easy tutorials of some of the more popular dances so everyone could participate, plus he had a few unique surprises I won't spoil here. Just know the surprises were a big hit with our guests and talked about long after we returned from our honeymoon.

Being honest, I wasn't so sure a DJ should cost what Rod charges. But what he does is way beyond simply playing music. He got nearly everyone out on the dance floor (a feat I would have thought impossible judging my side of the family), took every request from the wedding party and helped make our night an amazing, memorable experience.

Since our initial encounter with Rod we've stayed in touch and are happy to call him a friend. I can't find enough wonderful things to say about not only the job he did for us, but for him as a person. I promise you that you WILL NOT find a better wedding DJ. He is - by far - the best I've ever seen.

If you're looking for a responsive, energetic, accomdating, professional DJ- minus the cheese- look no further!

I have to say that finding someone to be our "master of ceremonies" was one of the most daunting tasks while planning my wedding. After all, they do set the overall tone for the ENTIRE evening. Simply put, Rod was amazing! He provides an inital planning session with every bride/groom, and for someone as type-A as myself, that was a welcomed addition to his otherwise great service. Myself and my bridesmaids also required a few additional special requests, to which he not only accomodated, but also met with us in person prior to the wedding in order to make sure everything went off with ease for the big day. Above and beyond!

My advice- just meet him. Experience, and someone that actually listens to your wants/needs for your wedding or other specialty occasion, it's a no brainer!

Rod was great at organizing and running our wedding reception. It went so smooth and was so nice for us to not have to think about anything and just do what he told us. All of our friends and family had a great time and it turned out to be a big party which is exactly what we wanted.
