The Best DJ Around!

We are so happy that DJ Kurt was recommended to us by a friend. He really did a great job at getting people onto the dance floor and keeping them there! We have never seen so many people participate in The Chicken Dance! :)

Kurt kept the music clean and was very professional. His ability to Emcee the evening was flawless and we could tell that he had a lot of experience. He was lively and engaging without being annoying.

We would not hesitate to recommend DJ Kurt to any bride & groom!

Daughter's Outdoor Wedding Reception at Our Home

Tim was our DJ; Kurt was not available, but the quality was just as fun as it was 17 years ago for our eldest daughter's wedding! Tim brought selections from Sierra Leone, which was a hit for some of our guests who traveled from afar. Thank you Tim!!

Highly recommend!!

My husband and I hired DJ Kurt after our friend recommended him to us and we loved him! He was so professional and was always making sure we were taken care of. He checked in with us all night and made sure we were on schedule for dancing and photos and kept the flow of the whole evening. He played a great combination of our music selections along with his own and people were dancing all night. We highly recommend him to any couple searching for a DJ!

Perfection

DJ Kurt Lewis was nothing short of INCREDIBLE. He made our wedding so smooth, walked us through every detail, and was there for whatever we needed. He made sure the dance floor was packed all night long and even let us keep the photo booth longer than agreed on. I could not recommend him enough! Thank you, thank you, thank you Kurt!

Hands Down the best DJ

Kurt is super friendly and knows what he is doing! He knows how to read the room and plays music that you want and that works, and will also take song requests. Super easy to work with and talk to. He helped make the whole night run smoothly. One thing that we loved was at the end of the toasts/prayer, he acknowledged military vets that were present.

Amazing DJ

I could not have asked for a better DJ than what I got from Kurt Lewis! He helped keep us on time to get all of our special moments with our friends and family completed. He helped our dances and songs come together better than we could have planned it ourselves. He is truly the best! Outstanding!!!

Kurt was phenomenal!!! Not only the music but the professionalism, hospitality towards us and our guests, people skills, science of what to play and when to play it, transition between genres and excellent customer service. He went above and beyond what we ever could have expected. His 30 + years of experience also helped guide us and give great advice for all parts of our big day (timing, food, songs ect). We learned a lot and he helped to make our day the best it could be!!!!! Having him narrate complimented all our hard work! Highly recommend, without a doubt!!!!

Kurt is the best!

Kurt was without a doubt our favorite vendor from our wedding day. Not only did he do an amazing job during the ceremony and reception, but he was just so wonderful to work with. He was so kind to everyone and even took the time out of the day to speak and get to know our parents. He was so much more than a DJ. Our day would have not of been the same without him. He kept everyone on the dance floor and listened to all of my crazy and last minute requests. He was so great about communicating with us during the reception and keeping us on schedule without every making us feel rushed. He always reminded us that it was our day! He continuously offered us mints before we went around to speak with guests and always offered to get us a drink at the bar. I really cannot say enough amazing things about him. Stop your search and hire Kurt! He is truly the best!!

We wanted to use him from our first experience.

We went to a wedding that Kurt DJ'd and saved his card for later, knowing we wanted to use him before we were even engaged. Kurt does an amazing job with music selection, and leading and directing the planned moments of your day. Plus, as my husband says, he has a great DJ voice. We would both definitely recommend him!

Wonderful DJ and MC

Kurt was a great DJ and super easy to work with. Beyond doing a great job with the music, he really helped with the flow of the night keeping everything on track, brought us snacks/drinks while we were getting pictures done during cocktail hour and kept checking on us throughout the night, had a very natural way of talking to the crowd and running the show and was overall an amazing MC. He was a helping hand and seems to have mastered weddings - I didn’t really have to worry or have to ask anything of him since he seemed to already be on top of it. All of our guests had great things to say and we would 100% recommend!!

Kurt is Awesome!

My older brother and sister had Kurt DJ their wedding and when it came to picking a DJ for my wedding I didn't have to think twice. He is professional, experienced, and knows how to keep your reception fun and exciting. He is also really helpful the day of the wedding and does everything he can to make sure things go how the bride and groom want. I had multiple people tell me that they really enjoyed Kurt DJing. With Kurt, you don't have to worry about your reception being unorganized or awkward. He makes everything go smoothly and his years of experience really show. On top of all this, he is very fair and honest with his pricing. You will not be disappointed by choosing Kurt Lewis to be your DJ!

Excellent DJ!

DJ Kurt was absolutely amazing! He was so easy to communicate with leading up to the wedding and had us fill out a detailed list of music that he went over with us prior to the day of. He was so thorough and made sure everything was perfect. On the day of the wedding he came extra early to set up and go over the music with me one last time because I was a little nervous about the songs we picked. Throughout the entire night he was checking on us and made sure we always had a drink in our hand and were having fun. Our guests all had so much fun and we received so many compliments on the song selection. The dance floor was always packed and everyone looked like they were having a great time! He was incredibly professional and really seems to enjoy what he does. Would highly recommend!

Kurt Lewis is the best in the business

Kurt was amazing for our wedding. He went above and beyond and I could not thank him enough! He reached out about a week before and asked if I had uplighting and sure enough, I had forgotten! He got in touch with someone he works with and when he wasn't available he somehow got the equipment and brought all the uplighting with him! During the reception he kept the guests on the dance floor and the night running smoothly! He kept in touch with my husband and me all night - getting us drinks when needed, even bustling my dress when no one else could figure out how! At the end of the night we had a few guests still dancing and he agreed to stay another hour - until almost 1am. I will definitely use him again! Thank you so much for everything Kurt!

Above & Beyond expectations!!

We had Anthony (Tony) for our wedding yesterday and we absolutely loved him!! He was so nice and caring about our wishes and wants and absolutely made our wedding a great time!! So patient and did things on our pace and just made the night so great!! He was also super easy to get ahold of if we had any concerns and we loved him!! He went ABOVE & BEYOND our expectations, so thank you again Tony!!

We also rented our tuxes from Kurt and he also went ABOVE & BEYOND for everything!! Our tuxes turned out amazing and all of the groomsmen, ushers, Dads and our little ring bearers looked so good!! He was so patient with us and if there was any changes we wanted or needed, Kurt was so great at taking care of them!!

I highly recommend this place for tuxes and DJ services because they both made our day just absolute perfection!! Thank you again!!

WE LOVED OUR DJ, KURT! He was fun, accommodating, knowledgeable, helpful and very friendly. He definitely knows what he is doing! We got so many comments during and after our wedding about our dj. He was very thoughtful and kept asking if my husband and I needed anything, as well as the bridal party. We wouldn't have wantes any other dj for our big day and would highly recommend his services to anyone.

We LOVED having Kurt as our DJ for our wedding on 8/4/18! We got married on Mackinac Island and it was not easy for him to travel there with all of his equipment, but he did it with a smile. He made sure to play all of our favorite songs that we requested but also accommodated other guests' requests as well. DJ Kurt Lewis at Above and Beyond Tuxedo made our wedding planning simple and he did a great job at helping us pick things out. We got everything through him - he was our DJ and he measured and ordered the tuxedos and the bridesmaid dresses. He also had cake knives and servers and cute boxes for wedding cards available for us if we needed! Being able to get all of these services in one spot was extremely convenient, but besides that Kurt went above and beyond when it came to customer service. He was our DJ, so after the wedding he took all the guys tuxes and they didn't have to worry about returning them, during the wedding he carried my husband and my plate of food to our table for us after he had gotten the entire bridal party our drinks and he even made sure to get my husband and I some gum after we had eaten. He does an AMAZING job!

Kurt is phenomenal! I’ve worked with Kurt in both a professional a capacity as an event coordinator as well as attended several events he’s DJ’d as a guest. There is no DJ more professional, more engaged, more personable or more skilled at their professional. Kurt doesn’t just provide music - he emcees the event in a way that engages even the most reluctant guests making a memorable time for all. I would recommend Kurt to anyone and everyone. I even convinced my brother and his fiancé to pick their date based on Kurt’s availability. They were so grateful!

The dance floor was full all night! We received an abundance of compliments. One of our wedding party members booked him for their wedding after hearing him at ours.
This guy has been doing weddings for a long time and his experience really makes a difference. He knows what to play and when. I would recommend him to anyone because of his experience and willingness to play what you want.
He also has a photo booth and tux service.

DJ Kurt Lewis is THE MAN! I saw him DJ a few times and decided to try him out for my wedding, and he was PHENOMENAL! After he set up he was making sure I had drinks, asking if I was comfortable: He really goes above and beyond to make sure you are having a great time on your special day! In addition to the awesome music he even provided a bunch of lighting for the dance floor- All of my pictures (especially my first dance) looked straight out of a movie.

Will never ever book another DJ in my life, and will recommend him until he retires (hopefully never!). 10/10!

Dj Kurt Lewis was amazing!! He was the DJ at my daughters wedding this past weekend and he knew just what songs to play to keep the crowd dancing!! He was so good. Everyone kept coming up to me and telling me how good he was. He did not disappoint!! When he introduced the wedding party he didn’t miss a beat. Whenever I had to talk to him or text him he was very reassuring about any concerns I might have had and very professional to work with.
It’s been two days since the wedding and I’m still getting Texts from people telling me how much they loved the DJ. A DJ can either make or break a wedding reception and DJ Kurt Lewis definitely “made” the reception so much fun for everyone! Thank you Kurt Lewis for making my daughters wedding day perfect! I highly recommend him!!

DJ Kurt was amazing! We were married this past April in South Haven, MI, and through my fiance's family (a majority of them reside in the MI thumb area) he came highly recommended. The entire reception almost everyone was dancing due to the music choices! He was super easy to work with and with his years of expertise knew how to read the crowd. We also rented our tuxes through him and it was such an easy process and we were fortunate enough that he was able to match our bridesmaids dresses to everything else. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Kurt and his services. Thank you Kurt! You were absolutely amazing to work with!

WE had Kurt Lewis DJ for my daughters wedding. He was totally amazing, more like a Master of Ceremonies than just a DJ. We had the ceremony on the beach and he was there with all the wonderful music playing as guests arrived and all the music for the walk up and down the isle. He made announcements telling guests what was coming and what to do next.
He then moved all the music and his equipment 40 minutes away to the venue. It was all so smooth and worry free. He actually has a program set up that we discussed at least 3-4 times to make sure it was tailored specifically to us. He covered everything, all the speciality dances, and played all the music we had on a very long list for him. His MC skills were excellent, he made all the introductions for speeches and the special dances... He also has many fun things he can make happen along the way. He has a very good sense of "reading the crowd." Kurt kept everyone dancing but when the older crowd got tried and sat down, he changed to more current music for the younger crowd they danced until the venue closed. They were so fired up they loved it. He was always professional, polite, attentive, creative, organized, and again totally amazing. We all loved him... Many guests came up and gave us compliments on our choice of DJ.
Now days later all the feedback we have gotten is so positive, many saying it was the best wedding they have ever been too. So if you are having a wedding this is the DJ to hire!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DJ Kurt exceeded all of our expectations on our wedding day! You can tell how much pride he takes in his role as a DJ. From accommodating our last minute music requests to bringing us drinks throughout the night as we chatted and danced with our guests to making sure our wedding timeline went smoothly, DJ Kurt was amazing. Kurt was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. Just speaking with him on the phone, you could tell that he was professional and knew exactly what he was doing. Once the wedding day came, he was super attentive and made sure we were happy the entire night. He did a fantastic job and got so many compliments from our wedding guests. Kurt was our wedding DJ at Waldenwoods Resort on October 22. He was extremely professional and accommodating. Not only was Kurt able to keep everyone on the dance floor, he was extremely attentive to our every need. Kurt continuously checked on us throughout the night from bringing us appetizers and drinks or just to make sure we were doing good. We are so extremely happy with the service we have received and highly recommend Kurt as a wedding DJ.

Kurt was our DJ at Waldenwoods in Hartland on November 6, 2016. He did an amazing job! Not only did Kurt perform all the DJ duties in an exemplary manner, but he was also instrumental in coordinating all the other vendors, such as the caterer and the photographer. He's been working Waldenwoods so long he was able to recommend some of the best shots to the photographer. He even thought about the little things. For example, after dinner Kurt came up and offered my wife and me some gum so our breath would be minty fresh for our first dance! We definitely recommend him. -Michael and Morgan Vizard

Just book him - he's great! He took charge when we didn't have anyone to direct our bridal party at the wedding which we were thrilled with. His music was perfect and he was eager to please. Definitely worth every penny!

Kurt was awesome! Leading up to it, he answered any questions I had. Full filled any special requests myself or my guests made, and was very go with the flow. He made the music part of the night completely effortless, and worry free. My husband and I have nothing but good things to say!

If you want a fun and exciting party you need to hire Kurt. He will make it a all around great time. He is also a wonderful kind and generous person. If he says he will do something he will do his best to do way beyond your expectations. He has performed at several functions for us and may use him again for a wedding in two years.

Dj Kurt Lewis definitely exceeded my expectations. He went above and beyond his "duties" as a DJ and made sure that I and my husband were well informed, taken care of and comfortable. He did a great job moving the reception along and keeping things fun and interesting. I received so many great comments from my guests about him.

Kurt and his partner Steve made our wedding a day we\'ll never forget. Kurt did great with the lighting and was extremely personable and quick with responses. \r\nWhen we found out Kurt was booked for our day we were bummed but he set us up with his partner DJ Steve. Steve went above and beyond in every way possible and played every song on our \'must play\' list. He even played some of the more obscure ones and it made the night! He was extremely personable, I loved his humor, and he was great with the guests. At one point I had a drop in blood sugar and I felt faint (The tight dress didn\'t help!) and he was patient and went with the flow while I took some time to myself to bring myself up back to speed and get out on the dance floor. All of my guests said they loved him. I\'d hire Kurt or Steve any time. I even have a friend who is hoping to use them for her wedding coming up. Thank you!

stop reading this and BOOK KURT NOW. he books up fast and you'll be glad you did! honestly, where do begin? he was a rockstar from beginning to end. we had our wedding on a small northern michigan island and kurt gladly made the trek and even came up a day early to walk through everything. he was an awesome dj - playing what we wanted (we requested a 90s sequence) and respected our do-not-play list (pretty sure a cousin tried to request something off it!). he also knew how to read the crowd and play fun, not-cheesy music for three generations of guests. he was also an amazing MC and made the flow and energy of the reception go off without a hitch. we also had a band and he worked with them to create a smooth and easy transition. he was 100% present, aware, and fully engaged the entire day and really made us feel special. he went above and beyond (even carried our plates and poured champagne!) and could easily produce a wedding himself (move over wedding planners!). we received so many compliments on the music and everyone had a blast dancing the night away. i cannot recommend him enough. he is so talented, kind, thoughtful, professional, responsive, and fun! seriously call him NOW before it's too late!

Kurt did an amazing job at our wedding! He went above and beyond anything I ever expected! After the ceremony our guests enjoyed cocktail hour while the bridal party got pictures. During this time Kurt brought out a plate of appetizers for my husband and I along with a couple drinks. Something so simple yet greatly appreciated. . During our reception he kept our guest rocking on the dance floor. Our night was perfect and I cannot thank Kurt enough for his awesome services! I highly recommend Kurt for any event as he truly cares about each client and spends time on making their day flawless.

We worked with DJ Kurt and Steve. Kurt was very helpful in the year of planning and talked me through my many breakdowns as a bride. Steve was our actual DJ the night of the wedding and he rocked the show. He was fun, energetic, and completely involved in making the music appealing to all of our guests.

DJ Kurt Lewis was truly amazing!!! He went above and beyond just being a DJ. He made sure everything ran smoothly, kept checking in on us if we need anything before, during and after the ceremony & reception. I booked him over the phone, sent me the contract by mail and haven't actually met him before the wedding. But when I met him for the first time few hours before the ceremony started, I felt I've known him for so long, very accomodating, interacts with the guests and would do anything you requested. I highly recommend DJ Kurt and I would rate him 10 and more if only possible. :)

The initial reason I wanted Kurt to DJ my wedding was because he DJ-ed my friends wedding and I really liked the music he played and he got the crowd going. Kurt did just this and more. My husband and I were pleasantly surprised on the big day when Kurt offered to carry our plates back to the head table and asked if we needed drink refills during dinner. Also when it came time to do the bridal dances he didn't pressure us to get going, he just gave us genital reminders about the time and helped keep us calm while we were running around talking to and thanking our guests. Kurt was very easy to work with, he is just a nice guy.
We also got our tuxes from Above and Beyond Tuxedo. They looked great. My husband and several groomsmen, said that the tuxes were the most comfortable tuxes they had ever worn. My husband liked his shirt so much that he bought one.

It has taken me five months to do this, sorry Kurt. But even after all this time I felt I needed to do this. We absolutely loved working with Kurt. From the beginning he was a pleasure to work with. My daughter lived in one state, I, the mom, in another and we had to plan the wedding in Michigan where neither of us had ever been. Thank you to the wonderful staff at waldenwoods resort for recommending Kurt. All of our interaction until the actual wedding was done over the phone and he made it all so easy. I really liked his phone manners but was totally impressed when I met him at the wedding . I like him instantly. He was so much more than a Dj. Acting as a go between with the staff, especially the kitchen and making sure everything ran smoothly and tried as best as he was able to keep things running somewhat on time. Thank you Kurt for all you did to make our evening so special. You added so much just by being you.

Kurt was hands down the BEST DJ I have seen. Was very professional and always checking on us to see if we needed any drinks or food and even gave me and my husband a piece of gum to chew after we ate:)) my brother sang before the ceremony and Kurt made sure everything was set up correctly and on time. I was very impressed and would highly recommend him to anyone.

Kurt did our wedding this past saturday and we couldn't be happier. His music was great and there was always people dancing. He also kept checking with us to see if we needed anything and he was very profesional. He helped make our night a fairy tale!

We would highly recommend DJ Kurt Lewis for any friend's wedding or special event. Kurt is so professional and good at what he does, he went above and beyond what is expected to make our wedding day extra special! Kurt got everyone out on the dance floor and our guests were very happy with his song selections. He also set up our sound system for our outdoor ceremony. We think he is amazing :)

We were very happy with our choice of booking through DJ Kurt Lewis for our wedding. His associate Steve actually DJ'd our wedding and did a fantastic job. Steve was professional and fun. He was very organized and went out of his way to find out what we wanted. We had an outdoor ceremony and Steve arrived very early to make sure the sound for our ceremony ran smoothly, coordinating with our pastor and pianist. We also did a photo slide show and short presentation during dinner, which Steve brought the equipment for and made it happen. He kept the music going all night and was very easy to work with.

DJ Kurt Lewis was exceptionally more than you could ask for in a DJ! I normally read reviews like these and feel that they are fluffed, but words can't describe how much Samantha and I appreciated everything Kurt did for us on our special day. If you have the time to read, please do because I'm about to explain why you can't go with another DJ:

Our string quartet was running about 30 mins late and they were scheduled to do the music for the processional and the ceremony. Because of this, DJ Kurt Lewis set up his speakers last minute and took care of our processional music, as our string quartet came just in time for the ceremony.

Our wedding day was a scorcher, and while we were taking pictures with the photographer, our DJ turned into our savior as he constantly came over bringing us drinks and cocktail food that we couldn't have enjoyed otherwise! He even made sure the bride and groom had everything they needed.

We also messed up the order of the wedding party intro, and our DJ was kind enough to take the time to re-organize the order last minute on our behalf...

The music was everything we asked for and he brought everyone on the dance floor! Everyone had such a fun time dancing, and the DJ's sense of humor was the icing on the cake.

Samantha and I couldn't have asked for a better DJ. I thought we would've missed not having a wedding planner, but Kurt surely made us feel like we had one every minute of our wedding day! I can't thank him enough.

This is why you can't go with with another DJ!

Kurt was excellent from the beginning. Being a college student in my last semester of school with a fiance 3,000 miles away in another country's army I was a bit overwhelmed with all I had to do. When I spoke to Kurt for the first time I was instantly comfortable and felt as if I had a friend that I could rely on. The day of the wedding Kurt showed up early and set up microphones and a sound system so my mom and grandmother could sing during the service. Throughout the night things went smoothly and he checked in with us constantly. He had every person in the room up dancing and having a good time. We received many compliments on his work throughout the night and since the wedding have had so many people tell us that it was the first really fun family wedding they had been to in years (and my family is picky, let me tell you). Kurt is also a very economical person, and in our opinion (student with plenty of loans, and military income) he was extremely well priced and interested in the quality of his product above and beyond others that we spoke to who wanted more for less time. Kurt also helped us to connect with our tuxedo shop and our videographer and photographer. He has tons of connections and I wouldn't trade our experience with Kurt for anything. I'm already recommending him to friends who are getting married.

Kurt is an AWESOME DJ and I would recommend to anyone that you hire him for your wedding! He had a great selection of music, great ideas for the order of events for the evening and is just an all around nice guy! He goes above and beyond what I would have expected of a DJ and it really helped to make our day special. He offered to help us with our ceremony rehearsal when our minister wanted to charge us a fortune for it and at our crowded reception when he could see that I was having trouble navigating through the crowd to get my plate back to the table with my hands full from picking up my dress all while trying not to spill, he quickly stepped up, carried my plate to the table and even pulled my chair out for me! :) None of those things are something I would expect from a DJ but am certainly grateful that Kurt provided. The dancefloor was packed all night and everyone kept saying how much fun they had dancing. Thank you Kurt!!

Kurt was awesome!!
He was easy and fun to work with and had the dance floor packed all night with all of our requests and latest and greatest dance music.
We even had people crashing our wedding from across the hall because “our music is so much better”!!
While we were out taking pictures in the hot sun he brought out water for the entire wedding party. He did not have to do that and I think it just shows what a considerate and accommodating guy he was.
I would recommend him to anyone!

DJ Kurt Lewis is by far the best DJ in the Michigan area. He helped us with every little detail, including finding other vendors. He had everyone dancing practically the entire night. He wouldn't even let us get our own drinks. We loved him so much he will be the DJ for my wife's sister at her wedding. Book him now, he is too good to pass up.

Kurt was AMAZING! I talked to him 2 days before the wedding and was a bit apprehensive, but he got everything PERFECT!! Not only did he run everything smoothly, but got people on the dance floor, and when things died down except for my 3 year old niece, he ask her what song was her favorite. She said "Winnie the Pooh". Her mother stepped in and had him play another song she liked, knowing that Pooh Corner is not a song that a DJ would have. Kurt FOUND this song and played it next! It totally made the day! Everyone thought he was a WONDERFUL DJ!!! I would recommend him to anyone!

Kurt was amazing. Totally professional! My videographer still talks about how Kurt was one of the best DJ's he's seen. He was just super professional, and played great music. Made the day special for us :)

Amazing dj

Kurt did a fantastic job DJing my 8/10/18 wedding! He was a huge help in making the day run as smoothly as it did- whether it was directing our guests for a group photo or capturing everyone's attention for the toasts. I really appreciated his attention to detail- even offering to grab my husband and I drinks at dinner when they were running low! He's a treasure in the industry!

Kurt was great! All our tuxes were perfect. He had a good selection, professional attitude, and worked around our crazy schedule. He even helped us make some last min. adjustments and even ordered 2 jackets for one of our attendents with unusual measurements to asure a great fit. Above and Beyond also provided our DJ, Eddy Fury. We still get complements on our music at our wedding and everyone says they remember how much fun they had dancing the night away. Only one little hang up with getting the music started for taking off the garter, but over all a great night was had by all!

Kurt was awesome. A little hard to get a hold of a few weeks before the wedding, but in his defense, he had a wedding or a prom every single weekend before. We were kind of worried about his work since we never met him in person until the day of the wedding, but he really pulled through and did an awesome job. The one thing we were a little disappointed about is that he didnt do the garter toss. We did something different and did the anniversary dance, and I gave my bouquet (well, a BMs bouquet) to the longest married couple there. Then Kurt had Keith give the garter to them too. We had planned on throwing the garter, so we were kind of bummed. But oh well. Anyway, he was so helpful throughout the entire night and guided us through all the steps of the cake cutting, first dances, etc. He also brought us and the BP drinks and food right after the ceremony was over before we took pics, which was great. His prices are great and Id recommend him!
