We are so grateful for the incredible experience we had from start to finish with Jim. He was a pleasure to work with throughout the entire wedding process. He was easy to communicate with and well organized. He arrived early for set up and sound check, and was the ultimate professional. He was responsive and available throughout the day. An ‘epic dance party’ was one of the bride and groom’s number one wishes for the wedding, and DJ Jim did not disappoint. The dance floor was full the entire night and the dance vibe was legendary. His emcee skills for the speeches and introductions were spot on. He is personable and friendly. We would highly recommend DJ Jim.

Best DJ!!!

Jim was recommended to us by our photographer. I could not imagine having any other DJ than Jim. He was so easy going, responsive, flexible, and made the entire experience stress-free and perfect. All our guests loved him, he kept the party going, and really set the perfect vibe for our wedding. He was on time with all his cues, played everything we ask, and was a pleasure to deal with! A month later, and we are still getting comments from friends and family about how great her was! I highly highly recommend DJ Jim Severance!!

Wedding - Sept. 2025

Jim was very punctual and professional. He played requested songs and everyone had such a great time. He listened to all of our preferences with music and provided the best experience for everyone. Jim’s service is super budget friendly especially for the quality service he provides. I would recommend his service to absolutely anyone!

Great experience!

I wish I could give more than 5 stars! Jim is so fantastic to work with and really made things as easy as possible. He played great songs and we didn’t have to worry about having a good time. I could not recommend him enough!

Jim was a fantastic DJ for our wedding. The entire process was easy and smooth. He gave us deadlines that were easy to meet leading up to the wedding. During our last meeting, he was very flexible with what we wanted for our ceremony and reception. His knowledge of event planning was amazing because of his experience of this for several years. Everything was great the day of and all prepared to our liking. He knew how to transition into different areas from the reception and really got the guests involved to make our day special. I'd recommend him to everyone who is planning a wedding or big company event.

Jim was the best choice!

Jim was an absolute professional from the start of our planning process through the very end of our day. He set up a meeting with us ahead of time to talk about our needs and covered all of our concerns, and also brought up a few things that we hadn’t thought of yet which helped to make our night even better than we could have expected. He was able to do both our ceremony and reception in different locations all by himself, he made sure to include the songs we had chosen, and was able to do all the things we asked of him seamlessly. We 100% recommend him for your future wedding needs, he is respectful, fun, and keeps the vibes exactly where you want them to be.

Not only does he exude professionalism from the very first contact, Jim is a joy to work with and is willing to go the extra mile to make your day special. If you want a reliable, professional, organized, and FUN DJ, book Jim!!

My husband and I worked with Jim for our happily ever after party (1 year anniversary party after eloping). Jim knocked it out of the park! We had family members who never dance actually on the dance floor, having a blast! The dance floor was still full when he played his last song.

Jim also helped us out by providing music for our vow renewal ceremony, our "happy hour", and the formalities during the reception portion of our evening. We had some very specific song choices, and he didn't miss a beat. Jim also helped us out by announcing tables to keep dinner service running smoothly, which was a huge help in getting dinner served quickly. All of his time on the mic was tasteful & didn't detract from the moment.

Leading up to our party, Jim was responsive and communicative. On the day of, he showed up on time and ready to go. I was able to relax knowing that Jim was making sure things were running smoothly, which was huge for me to be able to enjoy the day. Thank you, Jim!

The best DJ possible

We cannot say enough nice things about our experience with DJ Jim! He was so organized, professional, and most importantly kept the dance floor full the whole night. Other vendors told us that our wedding had the most dancing they had seen as well - really no one sat down the whole night. In addition to our reception, he also provided the microphone and speakers for our ceremony and helped troubleshoot amidst a surprise summer rain burst and then a short delay to our outdoor ceremony. He’s seriously the best and great value.

Awesome DJ!!!

Jim was incredible!! First and foremost, he is so friendly and is a true professional. I immediately knew we were in good hands after our very first conversation. He really listened to us and understood and respected our vision and choices. He communicated with us, arrived promptly on site and was flexible due to the weather, and created such a fun environment. When our reception started, I couldn’t believe how many people were up and dancing during the very first song! Our dance floor was packed the ENTIRE night! I highly recommend Jim to anyone planning an event. He truly made it wonderful.

Flexible and responsive

We didn’t give Jim a lot of direction and just let him do his thing. He played the room well and everyone loved the music. Great for all ages! Jim was open to either just playing off a playlist or making it up as he went along. It was ideal for us because it gave us one less thing to plan! Thanks again Jim!

Fun wedding DJ!

Jim was great! He was super flexible with a lot of last-minute changes from our venue and was great at crowd-control of some family members. Everyone loved the balance of the music selection and had a great time on the dance floor! Super fun party energy

DJ Jim Severance was Great!

We hired Jim about a year in advance, and since then he was communicating with us about what we wanted. He even kind of took on a wedding-planner-ish route to make sure events at the wedding kept rolling. The music he played really got everyone at our wedding dancing, the bridal party to great uncles; I have never been to a wedding with such a wide variety of people dancing. Truly, Jim was great. If you’re looking for a DJ, do yourself a favor and hire him!

We could not have asked for a better DJ! Throughout our planning process, Jim was professional, kind, and very easy to reach and communicate with. He handled music for our ceremony, for our cocktail hour at an outside venue, and for our reception in a barn – everything ran smoothly thanks to his preparation. Amazing DJ!!!

DJ Jim kept all of our guests on the dance floor until the very end of the night! He was so flexible with our last minute song changes and made the entire process so easy. DJ Jim was amazing! He was very flexible when we had to postpone our wedding from August 2020 to August 2021 and was very understanding and so easy to work with. Our experience with Jim was absolutely amazing! We didn’t end up giving him a song list and he played the crowds vibes and it was all anyone could talk about. Even when the night was over and people wanted him to stay later he still delivered! 100% recommend for any wedding.

Absolutely awesome DJ!!

Jim helped make our wedding day perfect! He made everything so easy before the wedding, he was flexible and was able to play the songs we wanted and also kept the flow of the wedding and reception going smoothly. He kept the “dance floor” busy all night with our own playlist and a fantastic wedding playlist of his own. I know I was pooped from non stop dancing. We had compliments from everyone on what a great job Jim did and how much fun they had. It truly was a perfect day!! Thanks so much Jim!

Outstanding

Jim was outstanding! With covid happening we had to cancel our first ceremony. Not wanting to there as no choice, Jim was super flexible and was able to accommodate our second date! He as professional and courteous from the beginning. He was always there for our daughter and future husband! He did exactly what they wanted. He spoke to them a few times before the wedding to make sure they had everything they wanted. At the venue he was fun, energetic and just made the day so much fun! We can’t enough great things about Jim! Thank you!

Highly recommend!

We could not have asked for a better DJ than Jim! He completely exceeded our expectations (and music is a huge deal for us) so that's saying a lot! He was easy to communicate with during the planning stage, he helped us structure the "order of events" as we weren't sure what was best, he arrived plenty early to the reception to make sure he was ready when our guests arrived, and he helped rally everyone into the tent for our entrance. The songs he played were perfect for all ages.. our dance floor was full the entire night! I would recommend him to everyone!!

Jim was absolutely amazing he got the crowd involved and did a great job with music selection. He was willing to do what ever needed done honestly he helped us out a lot being as we planned the wedding ourselves and really did not know all that much about weddings. Jim was a great resource if you don't book Jim you are just plain silly.

August 17th, 2019 Wedding!

Jim was amazing! The selection of music he choose was perfectly fitting with the style of music we wanted at our wedding! The entire evening Jim assisted to make sure there was a smooth transition with certain events happening while also ensuring our guests were up dancing. Jim did our ceremony music at a separate location which was so helpful. He was also very useful in planning our wedding day and timeline. Great DJ that had everyone on the dance floor!

Jim had our guests on the dance floor all night! I had many guests tell me they loved the music. Jim was great to work with and he listened to what we wanted in a DJ/song choices and did an amazing job. He helped keep the night on schedule but wasn’t on the mic too much he.. a perfect balance. Would definitely recommend him!!

Such a great DJ!

Jim took into consideration all of our ideas and what type of music we wanted played to create the perfect playlist that flowed seamlessly throughout the night. He made the process so simple and stress-free. The price was also very affordable compared to many other DJs we researched. The music was one of the main reasons why we enjoyed our wedding day so much! We are very happy with his services and highly recommend him.

Such a fun party!

I am so pleased with Jim's DJ services for our wedding. He was super helpful in planning our event and did a fantastic job MCing and keeping everyone dancing all night long! Jim was even able to accommodate a last minute request for a mic hook up for our ceremony. Even better, Jim was extremely reasonably priced. I would absolutely recommend Jim for your event!

Captured Our Vision

Jim Severance was an amazing DJ at an affordable price. My husband and I were resigned to have to do our own music due to budget constraints but then we found DJ Jim Severance. He was very thorough in gathering details and our musical tastes, which was great because my husband has very particular tastes and he actually danced more than I've ever seen. We were unable to meet in person but Jim was flexible and able to discuss details over the phone. Overall we were very happy with the quality of his services especially for the price!

DJ Jim is amazing!!!!

DJ Jim was great to work with. He was very flexible when we had to change the start of the reception due to rain and he was able to keep the guests dancing all night. He took our song list and was able to add additional songs that complimented them very well. Since the wedding we have been told by many people how amazing and fun our DJ was. Highly recommend!!!!

Jim is wonderful!

We would highly recommend Jim as a DJ! I was nervous about our outdoor wedding site and having access to power sources, what equipment we would need and where it would go, etc., and Jim was kind enough to come out to the wedding site to problem-solve with us and make a plan we felt confident about. He also really took time to listen to the wedding song requests we had, and to make a timeline for the day. He was great at emceeing and is definitely talented at keeping the dance party going. Our guests had a blast and danced for about 2.5+ hours just as we'd hoped! We got many compliments from guests on the DJing. Thank you so much Jim for the great party!

Jim was fantastic, he had a long phone call with me and my wife to work out the details. He listened carefully to all of our requests to make sure he was playing the music we wanted and the style we wanted. We specifically asked him to not play any slow songs because we wanted people dancing all night and he delivered!! Would recommend Jim to anyone.

Jim is a fantastic DJ!!!! Having a great DJ for a wedding is often overlooked but REALLY important for a great wedding reception. DJ Jim got everyone on the dance floor and made it an amazing reception. We booked him after seeing his work in action at our friend's wedding, and we were so impressed with him. I highly recommend DJ Jim Severance. He was fun, flexible, and created exactly the musical enjoyment I asked for. He was so great, I spent much of the evening answering "Who is this DJ? He's so fun!!" It seemed he had whatever songs we asked for and kept us on the dance floor until we just couldn't dance any more. I'd book him for my next event without hesitation!

Jim was amazing. Our top concern was making sure all of our guests were excited by the music. We had guests from all over the country and of all ages, and he somehow knew how to keep everyone engaged and dancing the whole night. He suggested we meet prior to the wedding, and I suggest you meet with him as well to collaborate and walk through the timeline together. He was great at melding our ideas with his expertise to make it a perfect night for us and our guests.

Our wedding was a couple of weeks ago and we cannot say enough good things about DJ Jim Severance. Throughout the planning process, he was very accommodating to our schedule and responded to questions almost immediately. He listens to what you want and even takes it the next step further to give ideas on how to make it better. Jim Severance was our DJ at our wedding reception recently. I was extremely impressed with his professionalism and that he was willing to work with me from over 1000 miles away as I was planning my wedding from a different state! He was so flexible, responded quickly to emails, and helped me figure out the timeline for our wedding day. I can honestly say I loved every song he played during our reception, and he was so accommodating to a few special requests that I had! He did a superb job, and I could honestly tell that he loves what he does. Highly recommend!

Jim was a great DJ for our wedding. He was easy-going, flexible, and personal. My husband and I met up with him and discussed the overall feeling and tone of our wedding. He took notes, made helpful suggestions, and made a real effort to get to know the two of us and just we wanted for our wedding day. We instantly felt like we had chosen a great DJ; he made us feel at ease right away and we left the initial meeting feeling confident and worry-free about his services.
From then on--from the first meeting to the wedding day--he was communicative, responsive and incredibly flexible with our needs and desires. He set up in two locations (private residence), and everything sounded terrific and flowed perfectly. We had a flashmob right after the first dance, and he really played along with it--made it feel spontaneous and fun!
He had a wonderful energy during the reception and he got everyone dancing. Really, everyone. There wasn't an empty seat. He read the crowd, played all the right songs, and kept the energy high the entire night. He was a great vendor through and through.

Jim was perfect. We were in constant contact for 3 months plus leading up to the wedding. We were unable to meet in person before the wedding because of my location but we talked on the phone and made a very detailed timeline. Jim took great notes and sent me all his notes for review. I reviewed, filled in the blanks of things I had left missing and he was able to accommodate everything we wanted.
Jim was very flexible, our timeline changed more than once throughout the night and he was able to adjust on the fly and it did not bother him at all. He played great music during dinner and had everyone up on their feet dancing during the reception.
He was very nice and was always checking in with to make sure things were to our liking.
I highly recommend Jim for any event that requires a DJ, he was excellent!

Jim was the DJ at our wedding reception, and I couldn't be happier with our selection. Leading up to our wedding Jim was very organized and helped us outline our special day. He was very responsive to emails, and accommodating of our last minute song changes and selections. Everything during the reception went so smoothly (wedding party announcements, toasts, first dances, cake cutting, bouquet toss) and that's all thanks to Jim and his organization and preparedness for our event. The dance floor was full all night and he did an excellent job with feeling out the crowd and playing music to keep everyone entertained. I personally danced the night away and had an unforgettable night! Thank you Jim for an amazing evening you're the BEST! Highly recommend:)

Jim was a great DJ. He was very responsive about our song requests and also mixed in a good number of dance songs to keep people up and dancing throughout the evening. He was very helpful as we were not very familiar with the wedding music process (i.e. choosing appropriate songs for our entrance, cocktail hour, pie-cutting, etc.) and he offered some thoughtful suggestions. Jim was great with our guests and played a wonderful blend of music that everyone enjoyed. It was a great night and we could not have asked for a better DJ!

Jim Severance did an excellent job, working with me ahead of time to make sure we were on the same page of what our expectations were and what he could/would provide. He is easy to work with, very laid back and professional. He even found a song I wanted at the last minute the day of the wedding reception party!! Jim was awesome and very accommodating. Neither my wife or I had been to a wedding and sort of relied on him to help things go smoothly. Jim was wonderful! He took the time to come out to our venue in advance since he had never worked there before to make sure that he understood the logistics of everything and that he would have all the equipment he needed. He was very flexible in making our day the way we wanted it while also providing suggestions on how other couples have structured their wedding days. He avoided all the songs on our do not play list and stuck with our do play list exactly how we wanted. We were nervous that because we had a smaller guest list that the dance floor would feel empty, but this was not the case. He really stuck to our vision in every way, we highly recommend his services!

Jim was a FANTASTIC DJ. I found him online after months of putting off booking a DJ because they were all so expensive. Jim's rate was so much more reasonable than some of the other DJs I found - literally almost half other quotes. We signed a contract 6 months before my wedding. Over the next few months, I gathered requests from family and friends, especially some Haitian music requests from my family. Jim was not exactly familiar with the Haitian music (and to be honest, neither was I), so I was a little worried about his ability to combine it with the Vermont-y music and top 40 songs I was hoping for, but he did a GREAT job. From the moment that dancefloor was opened to our guests, it was packed. Jim's style of speech announcing each shift in the night was not ostentatious in the least, and his ability to read the crowd for the music choices was fantastic. I am so so so glad Jim was the DJ for our wedding.
