He made our dream wedding come true!

AMAZING DJ, AMAZING PERSON! We loved Guy and he was such a blast for our wedding! Before the wedding, he had a very professional presentation and helped my husband to choose songs that would fit our wedding theme. His respectful, professional and fun manner helped a lot during the wedding reception planning process. His thoughtful music selection, robust announcement abilities and general showmanship contributed to such a wonderful wedding for us! He does many military events and this helped to make our military wedding an even bigger hit with the perfect music selection and his transitions between events (the flower toss, garter throw, etc). He has your genuine interests at heart and will make your event flow so smoothly! I will add that he is also the most affordable DJ we could find. We went with the add-ons of the LED lights, wedding cake spotlight and smoke show for our first dance and they were all AMAZING, well worth it and they were well put together! Thank you again, Guy!

DJ Guy was awesome!

DJ Guy was great to work with. Leading up to the wedding, he was responsive to all my questions & requests both on texts & emails. He made us feel very comfortable on our initial consultation call & was so helpful during the timeline planning call. I sent him a sheet with all my song requests and he made sure to play the majority of it on our wedding day. I had a last minute change on the day of, and he was flexible & made sure my special request was met. He took really good care of us on the wedding day and even checked up on how we were doing multiple times. Overall, such a great guy and an amazing DJ/MC that kept the party going. We loved & highly recommend DJ Guy!

Amazing Service exceeded our expectations

From beginning to end, Dj guy exceeded our expectations. From our first interview, he was very professional and friendly so we decided to hire him. A month or so before the wedding. He reached out for a final interview. In that interview he made sure to capture every detail of our day as well as took notes. On the day of the wedding we showed up for the ceremony and he had everyone lined up and was coordinating the whole thing. He also made sure to coordinate our grand entrance first dance cake, cutting and everything in between. He got all my family up on the dance floor multiple times with his energy and I can recall him having a lot of fun with the Macarena. For a cake, cutting song, he played the two songs I had asked for and cake by the ocean will always be a fond memory now. Towards the end of the reception, I asked him to please play country Road by John Denver before my grandma left and he made sure to do so right away. That was a memory I will share with my grandma forever. He was not only our DJ, but also a wedding coordinator throughout the entire day. Without him things would not have run as smoothly. He even made sure we had our first meal at the reception and offered to go grab us our first drink from the bar. If you are looking for a DJ look no further. Dj guy is your guy!

Amazing service and music

DJ Guy are professionals from start to finish. I had no idea what to expect, as I don’t have much experience with weddings or getting married. I emailed them asking for a quote and Roy emailed back within a minute! All our email and phone correspondences had a quick turnaround; he is highly responsive, no matter what time of day or night I was emailing with a question. Roy is very cordial and helped me feel at ease because he handled everything. He explained things in a way that made sense and was clear and straightforward. When it came time to discuss the wedding day, he told us how the wedding day schedule was going to go, since we were having our venue at a Navy Base. He also had a lot of good ideas for the music for different parts of the wedding as well as got a feel for what music would suit us as people based on our tastes. We handled payment very well and was easy and no hidden fees. We got the package that included DJ, photo booth, uplighting, and photo booth album. Roy was very kind and also included glow Wands, dance lighting, and our monogram initial on the dance floor.

They have a neat system for selecting music for the couple as well as guests. If the song is not in their system, you can request it personally.

On the event, our DJ was Nicolas and he was amazing! He’s very personable, nice, and ran the wedding because we all didn’t know what to do. He made sure we were in place and knew what to expect. He worked very well with the wedding party, us (bride and groom), and the guests and made sure everything felt comfortable and was having fun. He was also very flexible with the schedule and played great music for each part of the night.

The photo booth operator was also very nice and personable. There is a personalized printed photo strip with our names and date on top. They print two copies; one for guests and one for the photo album. The guests can write a note in the album and we take it home at the end. We also receive a digital version of the album.

Everyone complimented the DJ, the music, and loved his work! My parents and family members were beyond happy and my guests had a lot of fun.

Music, Photobooth and Lighting

We received the package that included DJ and MC, a photobooth, and uplighting. From first meeting with him all the way to the end of our wedding day DJ Guy has been very responsive, flexible, and patient with us. Obviously both my husband and I weren't around for all of the music and such but from what I heard back with my guests they loved what he was playing and kept people on the dance floor. People loved the photobooth as well and kept going back for more. The uplighting he provided for us just helped tie in everything for our reception and made it look beautiful.

Quality DJ

Highly Recommend!

We are so happy with DJ Guy.. and we were so blessed to have DJ Roy at our wedding. DJ Guy was recommended to us by a family friend. When we first met Roy for consultation, he played a song sample for bride entrance. I immediately cried because he chose a perfect song where I could imagine walking down the aisle to meet my groom. The consultation process was easy, and made connection right away. The song selection process could not be more simple as well. DJ Roy was organized, to the point, and heard our needs.

Wedding day was a lot of fun!! Roy looked great and talked with me before the ceremony. He gave me some words of encouragement and told me to have fun!! It’s my wedding!! During ceremony, the music went flawless. At the reception, he made sure everyone was having fun. We requested personal music choice and worked out perfectly. Our guests were so pleased, and there were a lot of dancing going on until the very last song! DJ Roy’s the talent behind it.

We also booked our photo booth with DJ Roy. Some of our guests didn’t know there was a photo booth so we asked for DJ Roy to announce it. It came with a photo book for us to look over later. It came out great!

We absolutely could NOT have been more happy with DJ Guy! Our schedule for the day was extremely high and tight beginning with a cocktail hour followed by our wedding down on the beach, then back up the stairs for the reception. We had to make everything happen in a four-hour window, and they even were able to provide us with two systems--one down on the beach for the ceremony and one up at the top for the cocktails and reception. Our DJ was extremely polite, beyond professional, we are pretty sure that "accommodating" was his middle name, and we could NOT have asked for one more thing. We highly recommend DJ Guy!

We hired DJ Guy Inc for my daughter's graduation party in May & they made sound & lighting an absolute breeze. Our planner suggested that we provide market lighting, since the venue was outdoor & next to the ocean. Instead of paying $1,000 for market lighting, DJ Guy made recommendations about up-lighting. The up-lights that he recommended provided ample lighting throughout the evening & saved me money. THANK YOU DJ GUY!!

DJ Guy was great at communicating before the event, & working with me to finalize my DJ timeline, slideshow, reception flow, request lists, you name it. He also did a really good job of prepping the speech givers & putting them at ease (letting them know how far away to hold the mic, etc.). He is very professional, & an amazing DJ! He answered my never ending text messages even when he was out of the county (in Oslo) on vacation.

As soon as we met DJ Guy from the Admiral Baker Event Fair, we immediately had a call from DJ Guy. We booked an appointment & discussed the vibe & our taste in music. We followed up about 90 days before the big day with a song list & recommended schedule for DJ Guy & it was smooth sailing from there.

Everything ran so smoothly at our party, & everyone had a blast!

Our dance floor was packed with such great energy & multiple guests commented on how great the music was & the light wands was a HIT! We'd absolutely recommend DJ Guy Inc. The party was everything we hoped for & more! God bless you DJ Guy.

We had a smaller wedding with about 40 guests. We had been planning on just using a spotify playlist to save money, but at the last minute changed our mind and decided to book a DJ, and I am so glad we did!! Our DJ was Nicholas, and he was awesome! Very professional, kept the timeline on schedule, played a lot of the songs we had suggested, and was great at announcing the different parts of the wedding. He also played the music at our ceremony. We were very impressed with how upbeat he was, and his ability to help keep guests out on the dance floor, even with a smaller crowd! Roy of DJ Guy is a true professional! We did A LOT of research when searching for our wedding vendors, meeting numerous other DJs, and he stood out in terms of his enthusiasm, flexibility and knowledge. Leading up to our wedding day he was really organised and prompted us to think of many creative ways in which we could incorporate music throughout the ceremony and reception. He worked well with our wedding coordinator and his services as an MC ensured that the whole day ran smoothly. He went above and beyond the call of duty throughout the day - for example he would ask if he could get us food and drinks when he wasn't DJing. During our reception, he had the dance floor full which was especially impressive given that we had a smaller wedding (60 people). We had guests visiting from a number of different countries and his song selection ensured that everyone felt involved. DJ Guy offers a professional services and provides fantastic value for money - we would definitely recommend DJ Guy for any wedding!

PHENOMENAL service!! DJ was easy to work with from the beginning, and they provided a DJ service that was far beyond what we could have imagined for our wedding. They took care of both ceremony and reception music, announcing, and coordinating with both guests and wedding party. Nicholas was our DJ, and he was absolutely perfect. He would always let us know what was going on and what we should expect, but stayed out of the way and provided a night of flawless entertainment. He played songs and genres we had selected, and also made sure guests were where they needed to be and made the night flowed in a timely manner. I had my wedding ceremony at La Costa Resort and Spa followed by a traditional Chinese Banquet reception at Emerald Chinese Restaurant in San Diego. Our guests were a mix of friends, family, youth and elders. So with that we knew we needed to find a DJ that was not only in our price range but could cater to a variety of musical tastes. And since I have never needed to look for a DJ the search began. I am so pleased with DJ GUY. We met with the owner Roy and he was great. He took time to discuss what we envisioned and gave us an amazing package where we could take advantage of all the amenities that DJ GUY offered (up lighting, dry ice during our first dance which guests were pleasantly surprised by and the pics came out great!, lighting monogram, DJ GUY glow sticks during the dance and pin drop light on cake so the whole night we and our guests could appreciate the yummy dessert to come-our wedding cake!). Although Roy was not our DJ for our actual ceremony he was great in getting everything organized for the event. The actual DJ, Joe for our ceremony was great! He was professional, personable, and able to be flexible with certain song and activities that came up during the reception. We were so impressed with Joe’s ability to get the crowd on their feet as I mentioned our wedding guests were a variety of age and cultural background-he even joined in on some of the dances to guide those guests that might have felt hesitant to participate! Thank you DJ GUY, I only wish I was not so busy talking with guests otherwise I would have danced some more myself!

Absolutely fantastic service! This company is truely the best in San Diego and I will be using them for any event I have in the future. They did an amazing job, even had to pick up the slack for my TERRIBLE caterer, and I couldn't be more thankful for hiring them. They went above and beyond to make our wedding our own, give you a very large variety of songs to choose from and allow you freedom to pick and choose to cater to any guests you'll be having. This company is filled with very nice stand up guys!!!! they are extremely reasonably priced and if it were not for my DJ I would have not eaten anything that day. He was so sweet as to bring me out a plate of food while we were taking pictures and that was my last chance to eat. He went above and beyone everything!!!! I have absolutely nothing bad to say about them and I reccomend them to the fullest. Trust me you will not be disapointed with this company!!!!

Djguy was outstanding at my wedding. The music was everything I could of ask for. My Dj was on time, had everything set up great, but most of all he was so helpful in making my guests happy as well az myself and my husband. He played all of our music we asked for, and when my guest put in request he played them right away. When I asked him to do our cake cutting early he was more than happy to. Initially I was going to book a harpist and a band, it got a little difficult to juggle between both, so I decided to got with the DJ Guy's...they happened to be within walking distance of my home and I never even knew it. When the DJ arrived at the Bahia i wasn't sure what to expect but by the end of the night I was convinced that DJ Guy is the best wedding DJ in San Diego!! Our DJ was Nik and not only was he friendly and well dressed, but he took care of us all night long. He frequently came by and made sure we were happy with the music, and even came by before the reception ended to ask if we had any last requests!! I am so glad we hired DJ Guy based on the Bahia's referral because my guests are still complimenting me and my husband on our wedding

These guys were referred to me by a lot of my friends and by my photographer as well. We decided to hire DJ Guy when we checked out their website! We love the presentation and the part where we got a discount for guessing the tunes. The wedding itself was so romantic!! I love how DJ Guy set up lights around the room so the whole room was the same color as my flower arrangements. The music of course was perfect and my DJ Witz was a dream. All of my bridesmaids loved him.

The DJ Guy handled our wedding with ease. We have since also hired them for a new years party that we hosted. Our DJ was really good at choosing the right mix of music to play at both our wedding and our new years party. Our wedding ceremony music was also beautiful. We ran out of time when choosing our ceremony music, and when the DJ Guys let us know they typically do ceremony music it made our last minute wedding plans really easy. My husband and I were very pleased with the superb entertainment provided by the DJ Guys. They offered us quality, professional, music entertainment that made our ceremony and reception even that more memorable. I really liked that our DJ paid special attention to detail and played music both from our play list and he also took requests from our guests. I've had many complements this past week from our wedding guests regarding the music and the MC. We are very pleased that we chose the DJ Guys to DJ our wedding.

I was the maid of honor at my sister's wedding this weekend and I can definitely say I hope my wedding is as good as hers was. I just need to get a fiance first!
The DJ that she had was soooo good.
The bridal party introductions were amazing, I felt like a star. He really got the guest in to it. All thorugh night it was a really happy and fun wedding.
DJ Guy did a fantastic job and had all our friends dancing their butts off. Even our older family members were acting like kids out on the dancefloor!
They are definitely going to be my choice for DJ when the day comes.

DJ Guy really came through for me and my wife. We had a pretty big wedding, even

bigger than we originally intended. There wree so many family and friends I don't even

know if I had a chance to see everybody. From all the people I did get to talk to, one

thing was repeated by almost all of them, and that was how wonderful a wedding we

had and how much fun all them were having. I feel I owe a lot of this to our DJ.

The music was just right and really satisfied a wide variety of tastes. He was very

nice when requests were made and managed to play a lot of the many, many

request I saw our friends coming up to him for.

We also had quite a few extra service providers, like our coordinator, the

photographers, the videographers, and they all seemed to work well with each other.

Our DJ even got positive comments from the other people we hired.

We really did good by choosing DJ Guy. Two thumbs up!!! Thanks!!!

My buddies & I thought DJ Guy did a great job.

The night was one great song after another.

All my favorites were played and our DJ, Nick, really made

the night.

My wife had a great time and she's still talking about

how much fun the night was.

I had my wedding last month and was so happy with the turnout.

I spoke to a lot of my family I hadn't seen since the wedding, over this

Guys, where do I start?!

Hiring DJ GUY was probably the best thing I could have done to make my life easy and also make me and my fiance (hubby now) look like rockstars at our wedding. It was really due to the work of "Tyler" from DJ GUY who doted over us the entire time and was very consciencious about playing the exact songs we had requested throughout cocktail, dinner and dance time. But, let me do this easier for everyone and allow me to break it down how things transpired throughout the day so you can appreciate everything Tyler did for us.

First, he showed up extra early, I think about 2 hours before the wedding! I was really surprised to see our DJ show up that early, but it did feel VERY reassuring to see that he cared enough to be there with lots of buffer time to speak with our minister and COORDINATE all of the bridal party. Yeah...that's what I said, COORDINATE the entire thing!! He spoke to my parents, the groom's parents, the bridesmaids and groomsmen and even the flowergirl and ring bearer. I was a little surprised that DJ's could do that! But, he did a wonderful job and the march songs sounded so beautiful, so I will never forget that part of the day.

Then, after the ceremony, the DJ zipped over to the reception hall which was about a 2 minute walk and hustled to get things ready for our introductions. When we came in, it felt like we just arrived at a Laker's game and WE WERE THE TEAM...you had to be there to appreciate ti. It was so fun coming into the sports theme that was chosen out for us weeks before at the DJ Guy studio.

For dinner, Tyler released every table in the room without being asked and the caterers loved him for that. These guys do a really class act at everything that I would have expected a Wedding Day Coordinator to do...all for free:-))))))

Dancing came along and he launched the dance floor so smoothly I didn't even realize that time was flying by so fast. So, it's 9pm and we still have to finish Boquet, Garter, and some other stuff...and so he comes over to me and my husband and asks to be able to get things done earlier because our photographer was out of contract and needed to go soon. I really appreciated him taking that initiative and saving us a potentially costly extra pay to the photographer.

But, that's not all. We paid a little extra for the name monogram to be projected on the wall and was it AWESOMEEEE. You have to go check it out at their music studio. I think in our review of over 8 DJ's, DJ GUY was the only one with an actual MUSIC STUDIO you can hear and see the sound system and lighting effects. It was a great experience and I will be
ready to plug these guys at every chance I get to all my girlfriends getting married.

I met Nik and Roy in the office too and they were very nice, but Tyler was our hero!

I was tasked, by my wife, to find the entertainment for our wedding. Thank God for DJ Guy! It had to be the easiest part of all the planning. After searching for some companies I saw a lot of mention for DJ Guy. We went to their studio and were instantly impressed. The speakers sounded great and you could tell they knew what they were doing.
The wedding night went off with out a hitch and was a lot less stressful than I imagined.

September 20th was the most beautiful day of my life and I owe a lot of that to DJ Guy.

During the planning of my special day, my husband, Greg, and I looked at a lot of venues and finally settled on The Faulkner Wineries. Faulkner and other venues we looked at were very helpful in recommending other service providers, and more often than not, DJ Guy was suggested for our entertainment. We decided to take their advice on our choice of DJ and for the photography. We were very happy with both decisions.

Our wedding photos turned out wonderful and DJ Guy really helped the night run smoothly and played the best music. The sound was so clear, and all my songs I like to listen to in the car sounded so much better that night. It was definitely a night to remember.

I just had to come here and tell you all how great my wedding was. We had the ceremony and reception at Tom Hams this summer and it was a wonderful day and night. The ceremony started right when we had planned and the DJ that came from DJ Guy helped out with the whole procession and made sure everyone knew what to do.
Once the reception started I noticed the DJ continued to interact with the guests, the staff, and us to make sure everything went as planned. The music was great and our family and friends danced the whole night. Id been plenty of other weddings in my life, but no DJ Ive seen has compared to DJ Guy and how helpful he was.

Let me fist start off by saying that Dj Guy gave my wife and I the most memorable wedding that anyone could ever ask for! Last weekend at our wedding Dj Guy did a wonderful job of coordinating a great portion of the ceremony and worked very well with the other banquet staff. We had numerous people compliment on Dj Guy's outstanding performance and sound equipment. They appreciated the dinner music and dance play list. We feel that Dj Guy helped make our day extra special. They have our recommendation in the future and thank them for everything!

Gary was wonderful - he was very accomadating and the music was so fun - many people came up to me and said that it was the funnest wedding they had been to. People would not leave the dance floor and we ended up having to pay an extra hour (which was no problem) because people liked the music so much.

From the first meeting with DJ Guy at their music studio, we knew we had found a real wedding expert who would guide us through the music and events of our wedding day...all a very reasonable price unlike many other outrageously priced(!!) DJ's in San Diego. I was so relieved to find that they had so many original music ideas to "supercharge" our wedding, it was really fun and my fiance had a blast too! The website account was a great tool for us as most of our guests were from out-of-town but were able to make their requests known long before the wedding day. They did a beautiful job at the ceremony with very nice sound and even more impressive finish at the reception. I couldn't have asked for a better DJ...thank you DJ GUYS!

It gives me great pleasure to write this review. We had DJ GUY for my son's Bar Mitzvah. Roy was unbelievable, talk about above and beyond. Not only did he come early to set up, he checked with us to make sure everything was exactly how it was suppose to be. He was a great, I mean great DJ. Positive, enthusiastic, you could tell he really was passionate about his job and his business. He played a DVD n also made us copies, he brought these cool foam things that llit up that the kids loved, he also made sure the DVD was going work perfectly days before event. He was on top of everything. He had a spectacular light show, and the fog along with the emblem on the floor that read Bar Mitzvah, let me tell you that Roy didn't miss a beat. He really interacted with the kids beautifully, and very patient. My son wanted some lincoln Park songs, and Roy made sure the cuss words were turned off so the little ears were not listening. He even checked on us several times to ask how we were doing. I have never, ever been to an evernt with such professionalism and quality, yessss we would def use DJ GUY in the future,and we highly recommend him. Thank you DJ GUY

We had the best dj! I believe his name was Daryl... an African American man. Anyway the whole process of picking music, etc was perfect. Everyone always remembers the dancing! It was awesome. If you are in San Diego you must call Witz at DJ guy!

I got their number from work and my husband did most of the dealing with them. DJ guys were very flexible with us from the very beginning. The only few complaint that I have was when we initially booked with them we asked them if they've ever done reception at our location and they said yes. But the day of the reception, they were unable to get the music to the cocktail area and unable to get the monogram on the dance floor. Otherwise this is a great group of people. We worked with Witts and he's funny.

We booked Dj Guy Services for our wedding this July. Our Dj was Roy, and he did an amazing job at our Ceremony and Reception. He was very flexible with his availability to meet with us prior to the wedding. He customized our playlist to have the perfect mixture of our favorite songs, and songs to get our guests up and dancing all night. We also had a photo slide show for our reception and Dj Guy cervices put it together for us and it was ready to go for our wedding. We also used Dj Guy services for our photo booth. The guests and the bridal party enjoyed using the photo booth and we got to keep a copy of all the photos taken inside the booth! We highly recommend Dj Guy services.

Our DJ was fantastic. Gave me pointers on cake cutting and asked me for approval of everything he did that evening. He was great in that he asked to step outside to eat his food, and did so quickly. He kept the group dancing and was great at reading the crowd. He made one mistake in that he did not announce the father daughter dances right, but understandably I asked for 3 (father, step-father, then father in law), so I did not mind. The only issue we had was that we asked him to say for an extra hour, to which he agreed and said it would be $150, then said he needed a $180 tip, and now. My husband was not okay with this and told him that he would not see a tip of any kind until his job was done. Other than that he was wonderful, and very helpful. I would recommend, especially now that they have been informed to never ask for a tip again, unless someone asks what's appropriate first.

If you are looking for a great night of fun, look no further because DJ Guy, more specifically Julio, is your best choice! They are flexible to travel, provide convenient time for personal meetings, and professional suggestions, and better yet they give you more for your buck. DJ Guy was very affordable. Julio from DJ Guy came recommended by my photographer and I am glad we were able to get him for our wedding. I wanted someone who was going to listen to me and play the music of my choice. I also wanted for the evening to run smoothly and for guests of all ages to get out on the dance floor. That goal was achieved and I, as a bride, loved seeing the joy on my guest's faces. We were so impressed by our dj the night of the wedding. We were very specific on what we wanted and they totally delivered! We had DJ Julio for our wedding. He was amazing! The whole night the dance floor was packed which is what we wanted. We even had a hard time leaving the dance floor!

My only issue was prior to the wedding. They have several DJ's so they are managed by one person who is hard to get a hold of most of the time. The only thing I would suggest is making sure you are excellent in following up with them until you finally get a response. If I wouldn't have called multiple times then I fear our DJ would not have been informed about our changes. Overall, they made our night amazing. They obviously have so much experience with weddings that they have so many great suggestions to make your night flow smoothly and keep everyone happy.

DJ Guy did a great job of keeping the party going & keeping our guests entertained. The one thing that we didn't like was that, when we initially signed up for their service, we were informed that we would find out which DJ has been assigned to us 6-8 weeks before the wedding, while in reality we only found out a week before. Everytime we came by their office, it was a different person that we talked with, so things didn't seem too organize. We were relieved that things went well on the wedding day, but the suspension of not knowing who your DJ is until very close was a bit uneasy for us. If you are cool with this, then i would definitely recommend them.

Ron was a good dj. He did a great job the only thing I would have liked was when we met I gave him the vibe i wanted for dinner and it wasn't really what we got. It wasn't bad just not what I originally wanted. Also we spent so much time putting together the song list which alot of the songs didn't get played. I know you limited on the time but alot of the must plays didn't even make the cut. but over all Dj guy was a good choice.

These guys really put on a great variety of music. I really have no complaints. I did have to book fairly early because I knew they were a popular DJ business but if you know that going into your wedding you should be fine.

The DJ Guy gave a great presentation and that's why we booked them. Their rates seemed to be pretty competitive with other local DJ companies, so we didn't feel cheated. The equipment quality is great. Selecting the music through their website is a bit of a challenge because there are limitations and sometimes songs are not in their database. They selected the right DJ for our wedding and the music that we enjoyed to hear. They did make one minor error and played a song that we had on our DO NOT PLAY list. One other thing is when you go in to their office for the final consultation, they kind of put you on the spot because however many hours you initially booked them for, they're going to try to add one hour to include the set-up pre ceremony to finish. They got us with that one, but we were still able to negotiate a little bit and they were able to throw in a GOBO light with our 'W' initial since we had also referred another client who booked with them. Overall the DJ Guy was a great company to work with and we really didn't have any worries with the music.

I enjoyed working the dj guy. I liked the usuabilty of the website. I live on the east coast, and was married in CA, so everything was done by phone. The person who I "met" with over the phone , who took down all of our info and requests was great to work with. However, he couldn't promise who would actually do the dj work at the wedding. I would have liked to meet the person before hand.
In the middle of the first dance song, the equipment stopped working for a moment, but he was able to start it back up again, so we ended up doing 1.5 first dances.
I wish that they would have given the minister who was performing the ceremony a body mike to wear instead of having a stand mike. There was some moving around in the ceremony, so people couldn't hear that last part of the ceremony, b/c the minister was not near the mike.

The DJ Guy was amazing, they went over every part of my Wedding from start to finish making sure I was getting what I wanted. They played an amazing picture slide show and made my reception perfect. Everyone has told me what an amazing DJ we had.

Right on time with every song. Didn't have to ask to play anything at a certain time. Ran the show without making me worry. Great professionalism.

My bridesmaids and I loved Julio, so I booked him! Unfortunately, as my wedding date grew closer (almost a year and a half later), it turned out that he had moved away. Thankfully, Roy, the owner of the company, booked another DJ he felt would be a good match for my fiance and me. I was super nervous about having a DJ I had never met with show up to our wedding, but it turned out that Roy was definitely right! Joe Abad was our DJ, and he did an absolutely incredible job!! I am so glad we ended up with someone who knew what he was doing. Everything was perfect!!! My only complaints have to do with planning - first of all, the lady who calls prior to the wedding never truly identifies herself - she says, "Hello, this is DJ Guy!!" (awkward!) rather than, "Hello, this is So-and-so from DJ Guy" ... she also originally called us a year earlier than she was supposed to... which made me concerned about what OTHER information was incorrect on our file. It was also awkward having no contact whatsoever with our actual DJ - we only spoke directly to Roy. Roy is extremely knowledgeable and very helpful, but it was a little stressful up until the day of our wedding not knowing what to expect... again, thankfully, everything turned out perfectly, but it would have been comforting to have some level of direct contact with Joe. My only other complaint would be that although Roy was great at steering us away from planning something that might not work well, it was upsetting that he did not seem to understand or respect the fact that I had chosen a song that was special to my father and me, just because it wasn't exactly your typical father-daughter dance song (sorry, "Butterfly Kisses" isn't our thing!) ... sure, it might not have been the easiest song to dance to, but it had special meaning to us. Unfortunately, it was VERY obvious that Roy thought I was making a HUGE mistake by choosing it. He continually tried to urge me to choose a different song, but I am glad I stuck with it.

DJ Guy is without a doubt a very talented man! He truly did make my wedding a fun and exciting event! I would recommend DJ Guy to anyone who wants a lively and energetic wedding reception! It was quite obvious he had expertise because of his confidence and organizational skills!

DJ Guy was a good pic for me and my budget. He was prompt in responding for the most part and very flexible with our musical requests. He was also accommodative when in terms of pricing and patient when it came time for us to provide him with our movie that we wanted to play.

He also did his best to meet our needs on the day of the wedding when it seemed that our wedding coordinator and "Guy" didn't seem to see eye to eye. While he was very sweet and expressed to me that he was making decision based on our previous conversations, it was rather unfortunate that their disagreements where shared with me on the day of. He remained as professional as he could be throughout, but this was one aspect that I felt should not have been shared with me on that day.

That said, I WOULD still recommend him to anyone who wants to have someone fun, responsive, and accommodating for their DJ. OH and the fog for our first dance was a HIT! It was fantastic and the photos for that portion of the wedding turned out great! I would STRONGLY recommend that. No smell at all... it was just dry ice! It was great.

This is the feedback we got from our friends..."wow, we thought you guys only picked 5 songs..." he repeated songs all night. Another friend commented that he made sarcastic comments; he played songs from our do not play list; we had pre-picked several hours of songs online and he did not have that prepared when we went to our meeting. We had to do this all over again at the meeting. people danced but our top artists that we had requested were not played. our favorite band, I did not hear one song from and we had selected at least 8 songs from them. very disappointing and hearing it over and over from friends is worse

Shady Business

We interviewed with DJ Guy back in Sept 2019 and gave him our deposit for our Aug 2020 wedding. We reached out to Roy back in April 2020 to cancel our wedding due to the uncertainty of Covid-19. DJ Guy texted he would refund our deposit closer to our wedding if our venue, Rancho Bernardo Inn could not hold our event. Turns out our venue can now hold small intimate ceremonies but under CA government mandate, receptions are Not legal. RBI cannot accommodate 182 of our guests and have refunded our deposit in full as did the officiant, the wedding planner and our E-wed insurance.

DJ Guy is the only one who refused to work with us. He blind-sided us by trying to keep half of our deposit when initially he positioned himself to be fair and refund us in full. Out of his vindictiveness, he claims the interview took up his time so now he's keeping our full deposit. Had we known he was going to charge us for an interview, we never would have hired him in the first place! We tried to appease him to say that he can keep some of the deposit but not the full deposit for the "work" he claims by uploading his music template on the web. We tried to call, text and email him but he has refused to communicate with us and hung up on us 3 times.

Attached is a screen shot of my texting with DJ Roy on April 23rd which proves that he was going to refund us. It reads:

We tried to call Roy but he didn't pick up so we texted :

Roy:
"In a meeting, could you text plz"

Me:
"Hi Roy,
Hope you are well. This is Oanh Nystrom. We reserved you for our wedding Aug 22, 2020. After much thought, we have officially canceled our wedding due to these uncertain times. Can we please get our down payment?

Roy:
"Hi Oanh. DJ Guy allows postponement of wedding dates of course, but outside of extraordinary circumstances, refund of the deposit only applies if an unexpected quarantine or similar impacts the actual contact wedding date. So it's too early to give you an answer on a refund at this time.

However, if you are sure about cancellation with no possibility of rescheduling, I will mark your contract for consideration of refund at a date closer to August."

Furthermore, after DJ Guy accused us of canceling our wedding on our own "volition" and that we now have to take responsibilityS which means he's keeping our full deposit! It is our prerogative, our right to cancel our wedding and we have EVERY RIGHT to do so. We emailed him to say that "our reality is based on mandates by our governor, Gavin Newsome and San Diego city officials. Fact: California government also states “Dance floors shall be closed and live performances such as musical or dance acts shall be discontinued”. Wedding ceremonies have been approved by the county of San Diego with restricted guidelines but wedding receptions are not permitted. Fact check: sandiegocounty.gov.

We understand times are hard due to the pandemic but that should call for more understanding and empathy, NOT the shady and greedy business practice from DJ Guy. We are not asking for anything more than what is rightfully ours. Bottom line, DJ Guy only created more stress to an already stressful time and magnified his lack of understanding and sympathy to a day we were looking forward to.

So future brides and grooms, please take this review seriously and give someone else your business who is honest and kind.

Roy was supposed to DJ our wedding on April 7th, on May 31st he backed out claiming he had back surgery 2 months prior. We had met with him 6 weeks prior (2 weeks after spinal fusion surgery) and no mention of surgery or any issues walking/standing and he confirmed that day he himself would DJ our wedding. I emailed him stating that it was unprofessional to pull out a week before and if had major back surgery then he should have let us know as soon as possible that he it was possible he couldn't make it due to back surgery. His response was "I did explain to you in correspondence that we had only one spot left and weren't sure which DJ would serve your wedding" which is what he may have said over the phone but not when when we met (Note: Bad Excuse #1). As for the DJ himself. He was ok musically however we had 2 issues 1) No one could understand him 2) We specifically asked him over the phone if he knew how to direct the chorah (a very common jewish dance) and he said yes. Surprise, he didnt, and everyone was lost on the dance floor because it was an interfaith marriage. So these aren't the biggest deals, overall, the reception went well but it is annoying when you ask for something specific, someone agrees, and they can't do it. At this point I still would've given DJ GUY 3 stars but I emailed him to let him know about the issues with the DJ at the reception. Rather than apologize for the issues these were his responses: "I'm not sure why Joe was muffled, but I know that I will often have to make announcements multiple times if it's a packed house and space is tight in the barn due to sub-optimal acoustics." (Note: Bad excuse #2, everyone could hear the speeches just fine, it was only when the DJ no one could understand)

The first meeting I brought my mom (my husband is stationed overseas) & Roy kept addressing all questions to her as if she were footing the bill & ignored me. From the start he was angry we hired live music for the ceremony and said guests would tune them out. His attitude put me off so I was hesitant to hire DJ Guy, but he kept offering freebies to get me to sign. I went home & slept on it & since he offered such a good deal & told me one of his employees would be DJing our wedding, I felt okay about signing.

At the last meeting he condescendingly asked if my fiance let me make all the choices & didn't bother coming & I reminded him again that my fiance is stationed overseas. He kept trying to up-sell us & again bashed our choice to hire live music. He said they'd take multiple breaks & I said our contract stated they would only take 1 break. He literally laughed at me & said “I've done a lot of weddings so I think I know what I'm talking about”. I felt uneasy about my decision to hire DJ Guy, but we were just a couple weeks out & I took solace in the fact that Roy wouldn't be at my wedding.

Wedding rolls around & who shows up? Roy. He was awful. He had pre-mixed CDs with terrible transitions, played bad music (after assuring us he got a good feel of what we liked by the song choices we'd given him), snapped at least 1 guest when they tried to request a song, acted like we were putting him out when we asked him to make announcements, & played maybe 10% of the songs we put on our “must play” list/played songs we specifically asked him not to. Worst of all was he was rude & bad mouthed us in front of guests. He told a group of people we “bought the cheapest package, but I'm still going to give them good service”.

At the end he became suddenly very nice to get a tip. We were appalled at the service & didn't give him a cent. If our money wasn't good enough, he should have suggested we go elsewhere. You're not a DJ, you're a salesman & you should be ashamed.

Not sure how to give an actual rating on a DJ company that just decided three days before our wedding that they weren't going to do it. Many calls back and forth working out pricing, timing, being rude, cutting us off in mid-sentence saying that they'd call us back, never to receive the calls, etc etc etc. Once we decided that we were not happy with how we were being treated and addressed, we decided that we would just ask DJ Guy to take the $200 we had already paid them, and simply play music for the ceremony only, which all told would be about a half hour including set up time. Chris agreed to this not only with me but with my now wife. About a week later, in another telephone conversation, Chris now said he wasn't sure that he could do just the ceremony but he'd call back to let us know. Again, another example of the call that never happened. I called him the last time on Tuesday July 27th, at which time he asked me about a half dozen times my name, my then fiance's name, the wedding date etc etc, all the while acting like he didn't know who or what in the world I was talking about. He asked, again, for my number to call me back, and yep, you guessed it, never got the call. So yeah, we had no music for our ceremony. In time time since first agreeing to do only the ceremony, we managed to put together a few good playlists on an iPod and rented equipment through our reception site to play the music through their speaker system, which we did. So we did have music for the reception. Horrible dealings with these guys. We were also warned by our wedding coordinator, who is apparently familiar with them from having worked with them in the past, against using DJ Guy, but since we had already paid them money, tried to make the best out of already paying them SOME money. Well, we see how that worked out. Horrible horrible. I hope they read these reviews. yeah guys, you still have my number, maybe this time use it.
