Wedding Reception Master
John proved himself to be a true master of ceremonies rather than "just" a DJ. He displayed a unique ability to create and enhance special moments during our wedding reception. John took the time to get to know us and our story as a couple and weaved it into the night to share it with our guests so well that one of my coworkers asked how we are related to John. He brought years of event planning experience to the table, had creative ideas to keep the day rolling smoothly, and kept the dance floor full until the party was over. He took care if any issues that popped up over the night. My wife and I are both very thankful we were able to work with John. -

My husband and I 'interviewed'/spoke to FOUR different potential DJs before finally being connected to John through another rec that was already taken on our wedding day. I swear my husband's eyes glazed over in every other chat we had, but when we met John, it was literally a 180 from the rest and SUCH a relieving feeling! That feeling carried on through the rest of the process after we booked with John (which was honestly a no-brainer after speaking with him for just 5 minutes). He is everything we were looking for - someone who is an expert and can give us advice, but also will be flexible to our needs and wants; someone who can carry through the wedding itinerary smoothly and swiftly, without awkward pauses or struggling to get the guests' attention; someone who didn't have a million ridiculous additional fees for little things we'd need his help on!
Seriously, John helped with everything. I went to him for advice on food for the wedding. He helped our violinists and singer set up sound for the ceremony, he played transition songs perfectly on cue and he adapted to scenarios which otherwise may have been a bit awkward for us. He's perfectly respectful and kind and professional, but also tons of fun and feels like another friend or family member at your event (same with his wife - she's lovely!) OH and he heeded to ALL of my special requests, including letting my friend guest-DJ LOL - iconic.
I can't recommend John enough. I had a hard time making decisions and did a lot of things last minute, and John was patient and sweet and genuine through the whole thing. He knows how to handle and speak to a couple planning a wedding, and he sure as hell knows how to throw a kick ass ENTIRE wedding day.

We choose to hire DJ Cox after seeing him at a friends wedding. It was one of the best weddings we had ever been to, because of him, so when it came time to hire someone for our wedding we knew who we wanted. We had other friends who also hired DJ Cox before and after our wedding, and it was nice to get to see him. In addition to being great at his job, he is also a great person. We were at four weddings total he was working and had a blast at each one. -

Outstanding Job
Hiring John was one of the best decisions we made planning! He helped with the rehearsal ceremony the night before and helped our live musicians. We had our ceremony on private land and reception in a backyard tent without any venue or planner. John was an absolute godsent for any questions we had throughout the process and went way above and beyond the call of duty. On the night of, he kept us completely on schedule too. Aside from the other extras he provided, John’s prior experience DJing showed! The dance floor was so crowded we had to move tables for more room. So many people approached us saying it was the most they had ever danced at a wedding because the music was so good.
Could not recommend John any more!

John was absolutely incredible, attentive to every detail, personable, and made our night one to remember. We had tons of family and friends buzzing afterwards talking about their experience. I am so thankful he had our date available because I don’t think there’s anyone else that can throw a party like John. He was so much more than a DJ. He felt like a part of our family that night and through the whole process. He was so attentive during our day and made our dances and toast so much more special. He brought my dad, me, and my husband aside before the reception and got our thoughts from the day and used our adjectives and thoughts to create such specials dialogue, we were blown away. DJ Cox made our whole wedding day easier, better, and more fun. He's a genuinely kind and caring professional who also throws a great party. In the process of planning our day, DJ Cox shared his experiences and offered recommendations that helped the event flow smoothly. He offered us lots of great advice while also reminding us that our wedding day is about us, our love story, and how we want to celebrate it. He was a great source of support through the concerns and chaos of wedding planning during the Covid-19 pandemic. When a lot of things were uncertain about our big day, we were always confident in DJ Cox because he not only never added to the stress we felt, but he reassured us that no matter what our wedding day ended up looking like, it would be a blast with him in charge (and it was!). During our wedding, he was the true master of ceremonies, helping move everyone from ceremony to cocktail hour and through every magical moment - even troubleshooting through an unexpected fire alarm at our venue. His song choices were perfect - I never left the dance floor, and my husband danced more at our wedding than I had ever seen him dance before. The entire evening felt like OUR party, rather than a generic party. We had several people ask us if the DJ was a close friend because he seemed to know us so well. DJ Cox offers a truly personalized experience to the couples he works with, and that extra care and effort truly shows on the big day. He will help you prepare for your wedding, and you can fully put your trust in him to create the atmosphere you want for you and your guests. In terms of value, DJ Cox is so much more than an awesome wedding DJ, and he earned every penny our family paid to hire him. We couldn't have asked for a better master of ceremonies for our wedding, and we highly recommend his business! -

If you are looking for a DJ who will get to know you and make your wedding day as unique and amazing as you are as a couple - DJ Cox is your person! We actually had to postpone our June 2020 wedding to July 2021 due to COVID, and DJ Cox was not only understanding, but flexible and supportive as well. He set up a few virtual meetings to truly get to know the two of us, what sort of experience we were looking to have on our wedding day, and all the ways he could personalize it to us. DJ Cox not only handled the music for our ceremony and reception, but was a true master of ceremonies for the entire night - ensuring the flow of events occurred flawlessly. We are also HUGE music fans with a broad spectrum of artists we love - and DJ Cox made sure to incorporate it all during our wedding day. He got to know the stories behind why we chose the songs we did so he could share with the rest of our guests the meaning of each of our special dances. He also listened to us when we had specific music cues we wanted to hit during parts of the day - and made custom edits just for us! My favorite part of our DJ Cox experience was the surprises. I wanted to surprise my partner with videos of friends and family who couldn't make it for the weekend and DJ Cox worked with me to pull off such a meaningful moment for us and our loved ones. Finally, DJ Cox was open, inclusive, and understanding with any and all suggestions we had. I can't recommend him enough! -

DJ Cox was amazing! He answered all of our questions and gave us ideas for things we hadn't even considered to make our day that much more perfect. DJ Cox is absolutely worth the investment. He is a complete customer service professional and an adept entertainer.
My wife and I researched a lot of DJ’s. It was a priority that we knew and trusted our DJ to be our spokesperson and custodian of “fun” at our wedding & reception. From our first research meeting, DJ Cox gave a lot of great feedback about our plans. He didn’t sell himself to us with a pitch, but instead built our trust and confidence with his passion for his craft.
DJ Cox emcee’d our reception with grace and professionalism. He filled the dance floor with a strong start, continued to set the mood through ‘downtime’ when guests were distracted by the sunset and beautiful weather, then finished strong with a dance floor that was just as full at last call as it was the first song. He even helped coordinate between our other vendors to make sure our mood and focus weren’t interrupted. Cox deftly catered to obscure requests, surprises to and from the wedding party, and was a fantastic representative for us to our guests.
From our first meeting to tear down, DJ Cox provided everything we were looking for. Our guests raved about his work, and he is someone we would hire again in an instant. -

Choosing DJ Cox Entertainment was one of the easiest and, looking back, best decisions we made while planning the wedding. There was no stress or anxiety throughout the planning process or the day-of. Both my wife and I would like to thank John for all the time and effort he put into helping make the night a blast!
My wife and I talked to different vendors in the area. As soon as we left the prospective meeting with John, we knew we wanted him to be our Master of Ceremony - and are so glad we did. He's professional, fun, and dedicated to making your special day stress free. He is personable, well organized, and was easy to contact. We appreciated his experience and knowledge with the planning leading up to the wedding day. During the reception, John did a fantastic job reading the room and keeping the fun going throughout the night. Guests did not want to leave the dance floor. Over the days and weeks afterward, we've had a lot of friends and family tell us how much fun they had throughout the night, which would not have been possible without him. A DJ/MC is not something to skimp on and can make or break the night. DJ Cox Entertainment is well worth it. -

My now husband & I were pleasantly surprised with DJ Cox. We had no idea how good someone could be- very professional yet down to earth. Our guests were also very impressed with his professionalism and creativity.
He goes above and beyond with customer service, personal detailing to taste and with his equipment.
You can tell he is passionate about giving the bride and groom the best experience he is able to so they and their guests have a special party to remember.

We had an amazing experience with John. He made our wedding day exceptional and was amazing throughout the entire reception. I would highly recommend him for anyone looking for an excellent, responsive and professional DJ that understands how important it is to set the mood for a wedding reception. Additionally, John helped set the reception hall with his additional back lighting and his own sound system. -

He has a lot of ideas. He keeps your day and night flowing perfectly and knows how to keep the crowd dancing. Perfect!
