DJ Bill Lyons was absolutely AMAZING from start to finish. He did our ceremony and reception and we truly could not have asked for a better DJ. The ceremony music was perfectly timed and seamless, and the reception was everything we hoped for and more.
Bill kept the energy exactly where it needed to be all night , the dance floor was packed, the transitions were smooth, and he read the room flawlessly. He was professional, organized, and so easy to work with, which made our day completely stress free.
So many of our guests commented on how great the music was and how much fun they had. If you’re looking for a DJ who knows how to keep things flowing, keep people dancing, and genuinely cares about making your day perfect, Bill Lyons is the one. We can’t recommend him enough!

Best wedding DJ
Dj Bill Lyons was professional, respectful and flexible with our wedding schedule. As with most weddings no time lines are perfect and bill was willing to step in and help at every chance he could. He was very independent and showed up ready to give us a hell if a party, he had all of his equipment ready to go and required very little from the venue. He was also reasonably priced which was another win! Everyone at our wedding said it was the best wedding DJ experience ever as he really catered to the vibe of the dance floor! I can’t recommend him enough!

We had Bill as our DJ at our wedding on 9/6/25! His communication through out the whole planning process was exceptional and even better on our wedding day. He insured everything ran smoothly and in a timely fashion as we wanted it too. If times changed for anything Bill was able to adjust accordingly with no complaints. Bill was very communicative from the booking all the way until the wedding day. Always answered my emails within a timely manner and on the wedding day kept us updated on what he was doing and the timeline of things. Very good with music selection, no one stopped dancing until 10:30 pm.

DJ Lyons was amazing to work with! Would definitely recommend. We used his DJ services for our recent wedding at the Bar Harbor Inn and Spa on 6/21. He was very communicative from the beginning and transparent about payment schedule and pricing. He gave us the flexibility to put together our own playlist for the reception so that we could have the exact vibe that we were looking for. He did an amazing job curating the playlist and even though it was a morning wedding with an afternoon reception we were able to get a ton of people onto the dance floor. We would definitely recommend if you are planning a wedding in Bar Harbor or at the Bar Harbor Inn and Spa.

Bill was great to work with. Communicated very well with us, answered all our questions and concerns and was very responsive from booking to the day of the event. On our wedding day he was great and flexible with some of the venues hiccups and he was very easy going with our wishes and quick to adapt to changes. We had no worries with his equipment or set up and everything was taken care of without needing to involve us which is one less thing we had to worry about. We highly recommend Bill.

Wedding at camp Roosevelt
Right from the start Bill was great. One of the best things my wife liked was being able to put songs on a site for us to be played and also songs we didn't want played. That made things easy for us. Over time she developed a great list so wedding day was easy. On the day of Bill ran things smoothly for us. It made our day so much easier. Then you have the music, he absolutely killed it there. Our wedding was a party people are still talking about weeks later! I wouldn't go with anyone but now!

One of the Easiest Decisions in All My Wedding Planning
Working with DJ Bill was a no brainer for us. He came recommended as a preferred vendor through our venue (the Bar Harbor Inn) and had tons of positive reviews on Wedding Wire and the Knot websites. After our wedding, I could totally understand why. DJ Bill clearly laid out all the services he had available and never tried to upsell us on anything. His websites for choosing our music was easy to complete and he absolutely nailed the vibe on our special day. We even had some last minute changes in speeches, which he was easily able to accommodate on the spot.

From start to finish, Bill was wonderful to work with. He was always so prompt in responding to me. We had a smaller wedding of 42 guests but we had a lot of those guests up on the dance floor. Bill did a great job reading the crowd and playing songs in the best order to keep everyone on the dance floor. He also helped to arrange our reception in ways that I had not thought of. He aided in picking songs for certain parts of the ceremony such as when we entered the reception. He played a wide range of music for the event and played everything that we requested to be played. He helped bring into the room items that we forgot to bring in ahead of time as well. He was also reasonably priced. I would highly recommend him for any event you have planned and he was exceptional with the wedding reception!

I cannot say enough good things about DJ Bill Lyons! My husband and I recently got married in Bar Harbor, Maine, though we live in New Jersey. It was somewhat nerve-racking trying to plan a wedding from afar, but we luckily stumbled upon Bill Lyons online and he made planning our music a breeze! He was incredible to work with--super responsive, informative, and knowlegable in the run-up to the wedding. He has a great system online that allows you to fill out forms, create a timeline, and plan your music (everything from must plays, play if time, and do not plays) and my husband and I had an awesome time picking our playlist.
The day of the wedding he was beyond amazing! He timed everything perfectly--our first dance, family dances, speeches, cake cutting-- and he had our guests up and dancing the ENTIRE time. Seriously, and I guess I might be a little biased here, but it was the most fun I have had at a wedding EVER. He kept the energy up the whole night, was cognizant of our "no play list" (my dad requested a song we had added to that list and Bill made sure to check with us before playing it), and truly just went above and beyond to make sure everyone had a great time.
We absolutely loved working with Bill and would recommend him to everyone. If you're looking to have the BEST time, do not hesitate to hire DJ Bill Lyons!

To me one of the most important aspects of a wedding is the music. DJ Bill Lyons was amazing- I loved all the songs he played. DJ Bill Lyons is everything you need in a wedding DJ. From start to finish, Bill made every step along the way a breeze. He has a great system online that helps you plan the entire night, as well as make playlists for the event! The form was super easy to use and I found it extremely helpful in the planning process. Bill was there to answer any questions I had leading up to the big day, and he was flawless throughout the wedding. He checks in frequently to see if you need anything, and knows how to keep the crowd entertained. My guests stayed on the dance floor until we were kicked out of the venue at the end of the night!

DJ Bill Really Knows His Crowd
DJ Bill was one of the 1st vendors we hired back in 2019. We met him at a wedding show and after chatting with him in person, had no need to look anywhere else. He is fun, personable, easy to talk to, and provides a wide variety of DJ and lighting services for any event. He was understanding and flexible when we had to postpone our wedding an entire year, and he was very helpful as our new plans were being finalized. His relationship with our venue's staff and all of our other vendors was immensely valuable. They all worked together seamlessly and made our wedding festivities come together without a hitch.
Bill really figured out who we are from the small sample of music we sent him. He picked the coolest arrangements to play for a modern, low-key cocktail hour and kept our entire crew on the dance floor all night long. Our guests all complimented his style and everyone had a great time. We would 10/10 recommend DJ Bill to MC any event.

I heard about this dj through friends of the dj that recommended him while I was looking for a dj. I was very happy with his responsiveness and his attention to detail. Rock solid, amazing dj!
DJ Bill Lyons attended our wedding and was so crucial to us being able to have a wonderful event. He was so open and easy to talk too about issues and problems that arrived, and you could tell he cared to get the job done correctly.
Quality of service:
Bill came and setup his equipment and the sound quality was excellent. He was easily able to pivot from an indoor wedding to outside due to coronavirus restrictions. Bill did an amazing job on both the lighting effects. We ordered the optional name up in lights package which came out beautiful in our photos. Bill also provided us with the metal cutout that he uses to accomplish this! (Made for an amazing scrapbooking item for the future)
Responsiveness:
Bill was always responsive in his communication and flexibility. If you are looking for someone with a calm respectful demeanor, then Bill is your guy. He never once dismissed our concerns and always took them into consideration when trying to work through an issue or discussion.
Professionalism:
Bill was extremely professional and didn't miss a beat when it came to what we asked of him.
Value:
Bill's prices are competitive and, in the end, well worth the money we paid for him to attend our wedding.
Flexibility:
I couldn't praise Bill enough for being flexible and rolling with the punches right now with the coronavirus. He was always willing to try and work through an issue and in the end met directly with our venue to figure out what would meet the needs for the event.
Coronavirus:
Like many people out there we were forced to delay our wedding and postpone everything. Due to the uncertainly around rescheduling and trying to work through issues Bill didn't once say he was giving up on having our event. He was laser focused on trying to figure out how to best accomplish meeting our needs. My wife and I can’t thank Bill enough for his handling of this situation. He went out of his was way to work with our venue for us and figure out a date and time that he would be available. It wasn't our ideal date and time, but it was at least a start to getting things rescheduled.
All in all, an amazing person and DJ and we highly recommend his services.

Bill Lyons did a fantastic job DJ'ing my wedding in August 2019 at The Manor Inn in Castine, ME. Bill provided music for our outdoor ceremony and indoor cocktail hour/reception. My husband and I worked with Bill for about 2 months leading up to the wedding to determine our music playlist and confirm logistics. Bill was very flexible and was able to add several songs that we hoped to play for our first dance, etc. to his music library. This was greatly appreciated. Bill kept the party going all night - to the point that our guests were chanting "One More Song!" as he drove away at the end of the night. For the value and service that he provided, Bill is no question. If you're looking for a DJ in Maine look no further than Bill Lyons. We couldn't recommend him more.

He stayed in touch with me up until the day of our wedding, including personally calling me the week of the wedding to review the plan, create a schedule, and make suggestions. He played music for our ceremony and reception, and we also used his lighting package. The ceremony music went on without a hitch. I was a little worried because I only gave him vague instructions over the phone, but it was perfect and he knew exactly what I wanted. For the reception, he did a great job introducing the wedding party and keeping the night on track. He kept everyone on the dance floor all night--even the venue staff were dancing as they were cleaning up tables. Bill was beyond amazing! He kept everybody up and dancing! I could not have asked for a more helpful DJ when it came to picking out songs and helping with time frame to keep things moving.

DJ Bill Lyons was a hit with Travis & I from the get go. He was very quick to response with any questions we had, gave great suggestions on music we struggled to pick and was huge on making sure that the night was about US. He was a hit with our guests, playing a variety of music for everyone to enjoy. If you're looking for a fun, upbeat and entertaining DJ for you and your guests, he is definitely perfect! DJ Bill Lyons was flexible and responsive when handling my last minute requests, and able to provide excellent service during my reception! He provided a wonderful lapel microphone for my ceremony which enable us to avoid using a bulky microphone stand. He worked closely with our incredible wedding coordinator Ali, "the wedding angel" and made all of our thoughts and ideas come to life! We gave him last minute requests during the event and rose to the occasion without a second guess! Would highly recommend him to DJ any wedding or event. Thank you Bill <3

DJ Bill lived up to his reputation as being the best in the business. He was very responsive, helpful, easy to work with and really knew how to work the dance floor. Our guests had so much fun! His uplighting was perfect as well. It really made a difference in our venue. He well exceeded our expectations! Thanks for a wonderful night! You're the best!

Bill was absolutely amazing. From day one, he walked us through everything step by step and made sure we were well prepared. From our ceremony-to the reception, everything was incredible. We literally got comments all night long about how great Bill was. We had Bill recommended to us from a friend, and we are so happy we listened. Bill gets an A+ In our book.

Bill was an absolute joy to work with. Very professional and responsive to calls and emails. Bill provided the speaker/mic for our ceremony as well as DJ services. He made an amazing atmosphere at our wedding and I highly recommend the uplighting option. Our guests were on the dance floor the ENTIRE night right from the start. I had heard amazing things about Bill and booked him for my Wedding over a year in advance....and we are so glad we did. Out of 5 stars this DJ is a 6!!!

Bill listened to us and provided us with exactly what we wanted! He was very knowledgeable about the flow of wedding events and provided us with great feedback when we were bouncing ideas around in the planning process. He helped us achieve the wedding we envisioned and made sure it was a representation of us, while assuring our guests had a blast. We could not have asked for a better DJ!

Right from the start of us choosing Bill as our DJ, he went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable with the event and music planning forms. Bill was more often than not available to answer questions and if he couldn't answer in the moment, he always responded in a timely manner. Bill helped create our entire wedding timeline and made me feel 100% better about how the events of the evening would take place. At the wedding, Bill checked in several times to see how we were feeling about the events, and to let us know what was next. The music was great, and the dance floor was full the entire night!! I highly recommend Bill as a DJ for any event!

DJ Bill was a pleasure to work with! Throughout the entire planning process, he was extremely helpful and quick to return all emails. When I was having a hard time with song choices, he happily assisted me with finding the perfect song. He was also open to new ideas that I had (i.e. The shoe game). I think the shoe game was a huge hit with our guests! The day of the wedding, DJ Bill was very professional and made sure the events of the day flowed together seamlessly. Overall, I would highly recommend DJ Bill to anyone looking for a professional, experienced DJ!

He took our vague requests for music, read the tone of the room, and delivered a great mix of songs to please our whole crowd. He was very professional and managed the people side of the equation just as well as the music. It was a top-notch experience!

Bill was incredible! Was extremely professional and flexible with me and my procrastination and my last minute decisions. He returned every call/email faster than any other vendor I've worked with. At first glance the price may appear high, but when factoring in his quality and selection of music, professional MC for the entire night to make sure the night went smoothly, music for both ceremony and reception locations, and the added light show and up lights - this was a bargain! Definitely worth every penny!

If you are looking for a complete professional who will read your mind on what type of music best fits your event, DJ Bill Lyons is the DJ for you! We gave some general guidelines but really left it in his capable hands, and he did a great job MCing the event and reading the room to provide the perfect song for each moment. We are very happy with the service, and would absolutely recommend him!

DJ Bill is a well seasoned professional. He was our DJ for our weddIng and we are not from Bar Harbor so wedded by planning can be a bit daunting. DJ Bill was patient with us and helpful. He made this one thing very easy for us - played our song list and played similar music that we like - perfect! Everyone danced and had a great time. Thank you DJ Bill for helping me and my new husband have a fun wedding!!!
