When you will accept only the best... Hire Tara

Tara is the absolute best photographer I have ever known or worked with, and being a makeup artist I have worked with many. She has an amazing eye, she always has interesting ideas, her taste is impeccable, I trust her implicitly. Her images always have a certain magic to them. In addition to her great photography skills she always keeps a cool head during chaotic times, she will keep your event on schedule while keeping it fun. It is so important for a photographer to be able to keep their subjects feeling comfortable and engaged so the photos come out looking natural and not forced, and she does this so well. Yesterday my husband and I got married in a tiny ceremony with only our parents there and it was magical, next year we will be having a larger ceremony and reception so all our friends and family can be there with us, and when planning both ceremonies the most important question was: is Tara available on this date? I would literally move the date of my wedding so she could be there to photograph it if I had to. She has been such a huge help during the planning process as well, any question I have, she has an answer. She has so much experience with weddings, she could easily be a wedding planner if she wanted to. She will undoubtedly add so much to the day, whatever the event. I can't recommend her highly enough. If I can I will come back and add images to this review when we get them back.

Book Tara now!

Tara was wonderful on our wedding day! Even with a chance of rain she was very chill and had a plan! I felt so comforted having her and knowing she had a plan for us if it was a rainy day! She fit seamlessly into the day and became such an integral part! She was super efficient at family photos (all of our family raved about how fast it was). We wanted someone who excelled at candid photos and Tara did not disappoint! Our photos turned out better than I could have ever expected and are so easy to download and share via her website. Book Tara!

It's been nearly two years since my wedding, but I'm still raving to everyone I know that Dixie Pixel is the best choice for a photographer! I figured it was about time I wrote a review here to help out future brides. Tara was so easy to work with, and made me feel so comfortable. My husband, who is notorious for taking bad photos, looked so great in all the photos! We had our wedding at the zoo, and Tara managed to take the most amazing picture of a giraffe reaching his tongue out for my bouquet. My friends and family still talk about that picture! I swear it should be entered in a contest somewhere. The wedding album Tara created is truly one of my most prized possessions. All I had to do was tell Tara which photos I loved the most and she arranged them beautifully into the album. Picking a photographer was one of the most stressful wedding decisions for me. I read every review and asked around and spent weeks trying to figure out who to pick. But I promise, if you choose Dixie Pixel as your photographer you won't regret it. Easily the best decision I made for my wedding, and I have gorgeous photos to treasure for the rest of my life.

Tara did an AMAZING job on our engagement photos. My fiance was so nervous about posing for pictures but she made us feel so comfortable. It more just felt like you were hanging out! I can't wait to see how are wedding turns out. She is worth every penny!

Tara's work is art. She is an incredible addition to a team of partners for your wedding day. She captures moments during the day that a bride and groom will treasure but that we would have never seen. She and James fit into our wedding seamlessly. They were great companions throughout our day, making us laugh and relax and enjoy our private time as a couple, despite the fact that they were nearby photographing us throughout the event. Tara finds beauty in her surroundings in ways we could only dream of. She was the first partner I booked... before I had a venue, a solid date and even an official engagement ring. I knew she had to capture our experience because her work would make our wedding memories so much richer than we ever could remember.

So happy I went with Dixie Pixel. Tara and her assistant James were absolutely amazing! She made the pictures quick and fun it really helped us be able to enjoy every bit of our wedding. Not to mention the photos were ready so quickly after the wedding. She was able to capture every moment and all of the pictures were unique!

Tara is a pleasure to work with, and her packages carry a phenomenal value. Every package includes an album and a flash drive of all your digital files. Her albums are absolutely stunning, and the flash drive comes packaged in a small wooden box with one of your photos printed on the top; we actually keep the box out as part of our decor because it is so beautiful. Additionally, Tara always brings an assistant who will also be taking photos for weddings. Tara captures the essence of your celebration; somehow, she finds the perfect candid shots that truly demonstrate what your day felt like. She is unobtrusive during the ceremony, and she does a wonderful job of floating around during the reception capturing the most beautiful moments. She also has a great eye for detail shots, individual portraits and bridal party/family shots, first looks, etc. Because Tara works so many weddings, she has also developed the ability to diffuse any tensions/stress that might arise for the bride and/or groom, especially those that originate from the family. I HIGHLY recommend Tara. She is passionate about photography, extremely talented, and is one of the nicest people you will ever meet.

Tara is AMAZING!!! Our wedding pictures are so BEAUTIFUL (and were ready VERY quickly after the wedding). My husband and I were not from the Knoxville area, but that was not a problem. From the venue to the florist, she recommended everything. She went out of her way to make our wedding day perfect. By the day of the wedding, it felt like she was a member of the family.

Where do I begin! With all the things to worry about with a wedding, my photography was not one of them. Tara has a perfect balance of professionalism while being funny, personable and relaxing. She's very easy going, which I attribute to her really knowing how to do her job. She seems to enjoy trying unusual/atypical ideas for a session but doesn't sacrifice capturing the classic moments. When she first showed up to start photographing the bridal party getting, she was so sneaky I didn't even notice her already snapping photos! I can't wait for another excuse to have her take photos of my family. After everything is said and done with your wedding, the photos are one of the few things that will last forever. I have no regrets!

I would 100% recommend Dixie Pixel. Tara is wonderful and so talented. She made me feel so comfortable and took the most amazing photos of myself and loved ones. We were blown away at the quality of the photos we received. We knew we were getting an amazing photographer but we were totally in awe of our wedding photographs. When your wedding is over you have your memories and your photographs. I will always be grateful of the wonderful photographs we have of our special day.

Tara is amazing. She listens carefully and really gets to know you. It is evident that she wants your event to be special and unique to you. She really cares. Also, if you're not exactly sure what you want, Tara just intuitively figures it out and it's perfect! She also is very helpful with recommendations of other vendors for your special day. We fell in love with dixie pixel from day one. The photos are timeless and breathtaking. She is the very professional and so easy to work with. My husband and I were very comfortable working with her and she made the photo sessions a breeze.

Even before I was engaged I knew I wanted to use Dixie Pixel for our wedding photography--her eye, sense of lighting, and ability to capture emotion and tell stories through images attracted me to her work even before I met her. Once we started working with her, her professionalism matched her artistic excellence. I appreciated her prompt responses, the research she put into location selection, her guidance through the entire wedding-day scheduling, and her overall easygoing, friendly demeanor that put us at ease every single time we interacted with her. And of course, the images from our wedding were just amazing, I feel so grateful to have had someone there who was able to intimately capture not just our happiness, but some of the best moments of our favorite people . They will be images we treasure for our entire lives.

Working with Tara was by far my favorite part of the wedding. She put my husband and I at ease during our engagement shoot and it made everything on the wedding day that much easier. Her creativity and eye for a great shot is what attracted me to her in the first place, but meeting her and seeing just how personable, professional and easy to work with she is made it even better. I will suggest her to everyone I know who is getting married or is in need of any other type of photography work.

The first thing I did after I got engaged was contact Dixie Pixel photography to see when she was available to take my engagement pictures! I knew before I even got engaged that's who I would use as my photographer! I met Tara a few years ago at a friend's wedding, then a few years later she was my sister's wedding photographer and my sister actually moved her wedding date to a day Tara would be available!
Dixie Pixel not only did my engagement pictures and my wedding but I even did a boudoir shoot with her to give to my husband as a wedding gift. My sister had done a boudoir shoot with Tara and even though I thought they were so cute I didn't know if I would be brave enough to do them. Tara made me feel so comfortable that I wondered why I was even nervous in the first place!
As soon as I have a baby I know I'll contact Tara once again to document yet another important event in my life!

Amazing amazing amazing! Every moment was captured perfectly and was authentic. I look at my photos all of the time and they take me back to each and every moment throughout the day. This was the best money spent at my wedding...AND she is so fun and great to work with!

I can't say enough good things about Dixie Pixel Photography. Tara is an artist. Her ability to capture all things beautiful in such a creative manner is truly a gift. And to top it off, she is professional and fun. By the end of our wedding we felt like she was more like one of our friends attending the wedding with an added bonus she was capturing every moment perfectly. Tara started as our wedding photographer, but that definitely won't be our last shoot....her personality, creativity, professionalism, and quality of product are unmatched.

Dixie Pixel is not just your typical photographer. Tara's talent is out of this world. She has this insane ability to capture all the little special moments that you can cherish forever. Tara's artistic style is one that cannot be copied & can only be found within her. We are extremely blessed to have had her there on our wedding day. We cherish every single photo taken that day. When I started planning my wedding, my first priority was having Tara of Dixie Pixel as the photographer. I had seen her work in the past, and nothing compares to her talent. She didn't take pictures of us being the bride and groom- she captured us being Andy and Regina. She joked us into loosening up, and kept us that way by not making us pose. When we received the pictures, I knew it was the best decision ever made; she caught the moments I didn't even realize were happening, and even more, she caught all the complete love we have for each other. It's been 4 months and I still get all emotional when I look at my pictures. And it's kind of hard for my husband and I to stay cross with each other when we look around at all the joy from that day framed and hung around our home. There are a million photographers that are good at what they do, but Tara creates absolute magic.

Tara with Dixie Pixel was the first vendor I booked for our wedding!! I had to book everything else around her availability - NO QUESTION! Even before I was engaged, I stalked her blog. She is a true professional. She helped me out with sooo many wedding details, referred the right people, and became such an asset!! She makes every couple, every wedding, every backdrop look A-MAY-ZING. Tara is someone you want as a friend, not only a photographer. If you have budget issues -- dont take it out on the photographer. You get what you pay for --- and you should get TARA!!

I had secretly been stalking the Dixie Pixel blog for a year prior to even getting engaged. I had researched dozens of potential photographers. Thing is, every time a event was posted, I'd look through every single one, over and over. I never felt the need to do that on other photographers' sites. That's when I knew I had to have her. She made me crave more of the story.

Tara, the woman behind the lens at Dixie Pixel, is nothing short of amazing. The first time I met her I had the privilege of also meeting her husband Brian and her children, too. Because Jim and I brought our toddler along to the meeting, as well, we were immediately thrown into a play date in addition to an interview for our wedding photographer. Being able to feel at ease like that right off the bat, combined with her professional presentation of the packages she offers, her comfort, confidence and the examples she showed us, sealed the deal for me.

You may find "better deals" in terms of what you might be able to get from other photographers, but there's no way you'll get the quality, the story, the emotion that Tara and her pictures portray. Guests at my wedding thought she was just another guest with a HUGE camera -- that's how well she fit in. She was seamless, she was courteous, she was patient, and she guided me when I needed her to do so.

For someone like me who rarely lets anyone take my picture, I still gaze at these photos every day. She has mastered the use of Holga, lighting, black and white, color, perspective and mood. Our shots range from vintage-looking 1950s Havana-style to shots that look like they came straight from the pages of Vogue. Being able to candidly capture a day, story, memories like that is awe-inspiring.

Friends, family, co-workers, Facebook stalkers have told us they are the best wedding photos they've ever seen.

One recommendation I would make to any couples out there -- Don't get the cheapest package like we did. You will be kicking yourself. Do not cut corners on your photos. Cakes, while beautiful and delicious, are ultimately perishable. Your dress, while it makes you queen for a day, is only worn once (yes, I know -- sacrilege). However, your photos last a lifetime. These are what you'll refer back to time and again. Go all out. Splurge here -- on the photos. And definitely book Dixie Pixel.
