Tommy and Diverse Catering are absolutely awesome! They made our Power Plant wedding in October a huge success. The team recently had some transitions that I was concerned about, but Tommy quickly stepped in and gave me absolute confidence throughout the entire planning process. Not only was the food for our cocktail-style reception delicious (received tons of compliments from guests), but they also played a critical role in the day-of logistics. Diverse even helped manage our Pittsburgh cookie table on top of everything else, which was a lot of extra work.

Diverse has a lot of heart and the skills to back it up on all fronts. I am so glad we had the opportunity to work with them and would highly recommend them for any event!

More than just catering

Diverse catering provided more than just catering services. They helped make the ceremony, dinner, tables look like it was out of a magazine. Jess is so personable and makes you feel at ease. She was the most relaxed wedding vendor I worked with and her calm demeanor makes you feel less stressed! The food was amazing (we had a bbq wedding). Jess accommodated all of our dietary preferences and every guest cleaned their plates. We are so happy we chose Diverse to cater our wedding!

The very best

Our experience with Jessica at Diverse Catering was nothing short of phenomenal. She was professional, kind, and on her A game at all moments. Diverse was willing to work with our limited budget while delivering a memorable experience. On the day of the wedding, she did the role of a coordinator by helping to set up the venue and break down. This was such a helpful bonus that we are forever grateful for. Our guests couldn’t stop talking about the food and how amazing her staff was! Go with Diverse Catering, I can’t imagine a better caterer for a wedding. (P.S. - I have celiac disease and her chef and team were able to accommodate me perfectly with gluten free options. So thankful!)

More Than Just a Caterer

Diverse Catering came highly recommended from our venue - and it only took me speaking to Jess once to see why. From the first interaction, Jess was warm, helpful and professional. My now husband and I had a strict budget, and Jess was extremely creative and flexible with us on how to adjust, without sacrificing what we ultimately wanted. When we had the tasting with Diverse, my parents, husband and I were blown away. The food is incredible, and the tasting session was a full meal that we had a great time at! I can't express how above and beyond Jess and her team went. She helped with setup (which looked INCREDIBLE) and breakdown, and the team, while it seemed like they weren't even there and they blended in, made the whole experience so amazing. They were friendly, courteous, and always looking to help. People are still raving about the steak we had! Even the pickiest of eaters told us that our cocktail hour was the best cocktail hour they had ever been to, and they ended up full from it. I would recommend Diverse Catering to anyone - from a limited budget to an endless budget. I hope to work with them in the future if I have another type of event!

Good food, excellent service, warm and professional team

The food at our wedding was great, but more importantly I'm not sure how I would have planned this event without Jessica and her team.

Jessica was flexible from the beginning as well as helpful and transparent about budget. She helped us find a menu we loved that we could afford. The day of, her team set up and took down everything in the venue. The staff was warm and professional, and helped to make our wedding perfect. The bartender gracefully accommodated my request made only a few days before to make mulled wine as a signature drink. Everyone was friendly and attentive.

Also, try the cheesesteak pierogi hors d'oeuvres.

Jess was amazing and really helped make our wedding day come together. We had a mid-day wedding and wanted a brunch-style reception, and she was flexible and willing to work with us to make that happen. We had salmon, waffles, frittatas, bacon, veggies, and more, and it was all so delicious. We didn't have a day-of coordinator or wedding planner, and Jess coordinated with all the vendors the day of to make sure everything went off without a hitch! Jess was also easy to work with, friendly, responsive, and upfront with pricing. She and her team also set out our decorations the day of and had decorations of their own to add around the venue.

Weddings can be a stressful experience. Catering can feel like an especially stressful piece of that. Jess and the Diverse Catering team helped to remove all of that stress while providing a phenomenal catering experience. They worked with us to build the perfect menu for the evening, from the passed hors d'oeuvres to the stations-styled dinner. They were thoughtful throughout the night, helping to make sure that both us and our guests were taken care of. When we arrived at the reception venue, they ensured that we were immediately provided with hors d'oeuvres. One of the members of their team was assigned to us throughout the night to make sure that our needs were catered to, checking in throughout the evening to make sure that we had food and drink as needed. Leading up to our wedding, they helped to coordinate with the rest of our vendors, once again removing a bit of stress from our plate. Beyond removing stress, the food was top-notch. Since the wedding, family and friends have been extremely complimentary of the food. We would highly recommend working with the wonderful team at Diverse Catering!

Jessica and the Diverse team were incredible for our August wedding! We found Diverse through a list of preferred vendors provided by our venue (Colonial Dames in Philadelphia). Since we were a long-distance couple (residing in NYC), Jessica and I had LOTS of phone chats and emails throughout the planning process. She was always incredibly prompt whenever I had a random question to ask, and I always felt like I was in great hands. Jessica was also extremely knowledgeable with the set up for our venue because they are frequently hired as caterers there - we really looked to her to be the expert and she helped us time and time again. She was always super positive and upbeat, which was so needed when planning got stressful and hectic! Jessica was also very flexible with scheduling our tasting since we were traveling in from NYC, and we were so glad we had the opportunity to taste the (delicious) food before the wedding. On the actual day of the wedding, Jessica's team really delivered - they were so attentive to me and my husband and made sure we were well fed and happy. (We were both - and I know that the former isn't true for many couples on their wedding day!) The food was not only delicious, but the service from the whole team was AMAZING. Everything was flawless and we could not have asked for more. Thank you, Jessica and Diverse!

We had a fantastic experience with Diverse Catering for our wedding. We went to several tastings with other caterers, but it was obvious Diverse was the one before the main courses even came out. They had me at the cheese fondue with pretzel bites, really. Ken was super easy to work with, and he provided a really generous spread and variety for us to taste when we came in to meet him. The food was outstanding and the menu options were varied enough that we could have an eclectic mix of foods that would make everyone happy. I'm vegetarian and I like spicy foods, so Ken made sure to provide several vegetarian options for us to choose from, even adapting a few vegan versions of meat dishes for us. Our guests really enjoyed the variety as well, and people definitely went up for seconds! Overall, I would definitely recommend working with Diverse. Their food is fresh and delicious, they are super easy to work with, and their prices are very fair. Love them!

You really weren’t what we expected (for the better), getting a wedding organiser as well as a caterer really REALLY made the day work better than we thought it would. Not only was all the food and your staff amazing on the day, you just went above and beyond to help with everything and it really means SO much to us. That salmon….wow!! I wish I had more time to eat more of it during the night but it flew by, that’s for sure.

i would recommend anyone in the area to use Mike and his team for their function and especially wedding after the experience we had with him and how much it helped on the day in not having to think about how things ran and leaving it up to him.

Diverse Catering’s Mike Schmidt was a pleasure to work with. We were very worried about our wedding budget at first, and Diverse was very responsive to our concerns by offering several different price plans to us and explaining how different items would affect the total price, so that we could pick and choose which items we wanted to splurge on or cut back on. (Compare this to some other catering companies that just laughed at us or wouldn’t respond to our budget concerns.) As we worked with Diverse, we came to realize that they really do more than just food. Mike helped us plan out and coordinate the entire event—from making a wedding timeline, choosing linens, planning when to drop off and pick up everything…Mike coordinated with our DJ, officiant, and photographer when needed—and always with a smile and sense of humor to help break our wedding-planning-tension. Mike even made the day of the wedding fun, by keeping us relaxed and laughing—we knew we were in good hands. At one point, Mike or our DJ had asked the dinner party to sit down already, but I had planned on a large group photo of the event at cocktail hour. I said, “No, no. It’s fine. I don’t need the picture. They are already sitting.” Mike wouldn’t take my semi-feigned surrender to the circumstances. He insisted it was no big deal and got the all the guests back up for a picture and seated again in 5-10 minutes flat! It’s a great picture. I am glad Mike insisted we follow through with the original photo plan. The entire event went off without a hitch and we were so happy with how beautifully Diverse set up and served the dinner. Our guests raved about the delicious food, awesome bar drinks, and friendly bartenders. We highly recommend Diverse Catering.

We met Mike Schmidt of Diverse at our venue, the Power Plant, while he was setting up for another wedding. We were impressed right away with the care he takes to design the event beyond just the food, and that proved true throughout the process. Each time we met with him, we felt like our wedding was in good hands. The tasting was so much fun, and we really loved the food. In each of our meetings with Mike after that, he helped us think through our other choices like linens and table settings, and offered really valuable input and fun ideas. We wanted to offer iced coffee at the bar throughout the event, and he suggested we have Bailey's on hand to combine with it - that ended up being the most popular drink at our wedding! He met with us the day before the wedding while we were setting some things up at the venue, and we walked him through our boxes of decor and what was going where. It totally put me at ease, knowing he understood my vision for the space. When we arrived to cocktail hour on our wedding day, he took us into the space to see everything set up before guests were brought to the tables, and I was blown away. Throughout the event, Mike and his staff kept everything flowing perfectly. Our guests loved the food, especially the salmon station. They even had a small quantity of vegan food ready for a couple of our friends, so everyone had offerings that worked for their preferences. We heard nothing but rave reviews about the food. Overall, Diverse was fun and easy to work with, and they helped us have a wonderfully memorable day.

Mike Schmidt and Diverse catered our wedding this August at Power Plant Productions in Philadelphia. I can not say enough good things about him and his entire team. We met with Mike upon recommendation from our venue and we knew from that first meeting (and then definitely after the tasting!) that we had to hire Diverse! He took our ideas and built a menu entirely of what we wanted and did not hesitate to accommodate any special requests. We felt that he truly understood what we wanted for our wedding after just one meeting. He was very upfront and honest about things that would tack on unnecessary cost and made sure we had everything we truly needed. Mike is very knowledgable about the entire wedding process and stepped up and made sure everything ran smoothly since we did not have a wedding planner. He came to the venue and ran our rehearsal the previous night and then kept the entire wedding day on schedule. He made us feel comfortable and prepared during a time that can be very stressful. He was very responsive and accommodating throughout the entire process like when I asked him two nights before if he had table numbers he could bring (which he did) and when he offered to verbally announce table numbers and make a card box when our place cards and box were running late with my dad and groomsman. Mike and his staff were very attentive the day of wedding and made sure we were taken care of and from what I have heard from my guests: they were taken care of too! My friends and family cannot stop raving about how wonderful the food was, and I have had so many of them tell how nice the waiters were and how much fun they had with the bartenders. I could not be happier with the job they did and would highly recommend Mike and the Diverse team to other couples on the hunt for a caterer! They will not disappoint!

We cannot speak highly enough of Ken Correll and Diverse Catering. Ken was a fantastic caterer and also the person who coordinated among all vendors to make everything run smoothly--our wedding hero! Ken designed a delicious, abundant menu of vegetarian and vegan foods, locally sourced and well-priced. Ken knows the ins and outs of Bartram's Garden, and it is impossible to imagine having a wedding at Bartram's without Ken. He knows the Bertram's staff, knows how to use the space and manage flow, has a plan B in case of rain and a plan C, and gets along with everyone. He helped manage family, coordinated the flow of the event with the DJ, and somehow still attended to us individually at our reception. We loved our ceremony and reception, and Ken played an integral role in each. A great guy with a great manner. You want Ken on your team!

I worked with Ken Correll of Diverse Catering and words cannot describe how fantastic he is. We met several times over the year leading up to our wedding (obviously, more of them concentrated in the month before the big day) and it was always a pleasure. He knows how to do his job well! The food that Diverse provided was awesome (they catered the rehearsal dinner as well) and Ken was incredibly responsive to any changes that we requested. When it comes to the actual wedding day: Ken and the rest of the staff is AMAZING. Every single employee was attentive - not just to me, my now-husband, and our families, but to the other 150 guests as well! I have gotten so many compliments about the wonderful men and women that bartended, served dinner, and helped with a billion other things (that may or may not have been in their primary job description). Ken and his staff solved every hiccup as it happened and allowed us to just enjoy the food, the company, and the party! Now that wedding planning has ended, my husband and I are looking for other opportunities to hire Diverse.

Diverse Catering came highly recommended to us by our venue (and several other venues we looked at.) From the beginning, Mike worked with us to curate the perfect menu and was able to keep the price within our budget. The food was excellent and we got many compliments from our guests.

The menu selection is very comprehensive and they accommodate many different diets. We had quite a lot of vegetarians attend our wedding and were able to provide vegetarian options for each of our stations. Most of our guests were quite surprised with the variety of food available since most weddings only have a few options for vegetarians.

Mike also helped run the wedding since we did not have a planner. He ran the rehearsal and ceremony, assisted with announcements (letting the band know when to make them) and helped to resolve problems such as, running out of bourbon early in the night and forgetting our cake knife.

Overall, we were very pleased with the food, service and level of professionalism and would highly recommend Diverse Catering to other couples.

Couldn't have been happier with Mike Schmidt and Diverse Catering. After reading all of the glowing reviews we simply had to meet Mike, and I have to say- the reviews were right. After our first meeting with Mike I knew we could trust him. I was a very organized bride and Mike stayed with me every step of the way. My husband and I really just wanted our wedding to be a big party, so we opted for a "cocktail party" style reception with buffet stations around the room and no assigned seating. This posed some "dinner flow" challenges for Diverse, which they tackled like pros. Mike met with me a number of times to ensure I felt comfortable with the layout of the reception, and was never short of suggestions to address any of my concerns. We made some asks of Diverse that were probably not ideal- we brought some of the food in from another vendor and we asked Diverse to buy some of our food from a specific store in our South Philly neighborhood. Not only did Mike not bat an eye at my requests, he worked hand in hand with the other vendors to ensure we were getting exactly what we wanted. On the day of the wedding Mike and team were absolute pros and the service was fantastic. I am still getting compliments on the food, including "the best salmon that I've ever had." We highly recommend Diverse!

Not only did Diverse Catering provide delicious food, incredible staffing for the event, amazing event planners, and more, Mike served also as a therapist on the side during a very anxiety provoking time!!!! I loved working with Mike and Diverse Catering as a whole. Everyone who attended the event would not stop raving about the food, the table layout, and overall ambiance created by Diverse Catering! Mike at Diverse Catering deserves all 5 stars. The food was incredible, his staff was attentive and fun and my husband and I knew we were in good hands every time we met with Mike. Mike had to bring in a kitchen to our reception site (Boathouse Row) and set up completely out of site. I have had multiple people tell me that the food was the best wedding food they have ever had, a huge compliment!

I would recommend Diverse Catering to any bride and groom, especially those who want delicious food, excellent service and to put their wedding into expert hands.

After reading all of the awesome reviews of the Diverse team, we knew we had found the right company for us. We wanted food that was different from the typical food you would get at a standard catered event. We wanted something that reflected our style and taste. Mike, Rick, and their team were all extremely easy to work with. They were a comprehensive catering and event design company and helped us with everything from arranging our loose bulk flowers for the centerpieces as well as the ceremony space, to ceremony chair rentals, to coordinating the order of events and cuing our wedding party during the actual day. They helped us plan and execute our day and we cannot thank them enough. We have heard nothing but compliments on the food and service from family and friends and would not hesitate to recommend them to others.

My daughter and new son-in-law were married on 10/4/14 at the Fairmount Rowing Club on Boathouse Row in Philadelphia. They worked with Mike Schmidt and the wedding reception was fantastic. Mike and Diverse staff could not have been more attentive and welcoming to all of the wedding guests.
The food was delicious - well presented and no matter where you were in the Boathouse the staff found you to offer scrumptious hors d'oeuvres. Dinner was served family style with fall vegetables, pumpkin ravioli, moist seasoned chicken and beef.
Mike Schmidt kept festivities going on a subtle time line - and the evening flew by.
The bar staff were jovial and very efficient. No lines waiting for a cocktail or draft beer.
At the end of the evening - the Fairmount Rowing Club was returned to original order and you would not have known that a wedding reception was held in the Club.
I work in a church in Villanova and we use caterers frequently. Diverse Catering now ranks at the top of my list for terrific service and value.

We met mike over a year and a half ago when searching for a caterer for our 250 person wedding. Mike impressed us with her professionalism, flexibility, and great food and service. Throughout the time that we worked with him he met us multiple times to go over details and planning. He was so much more than a caterer but an event planner. He even came to our rehearsal to run it for us. I did not have to worry on the day of the wedding and I knew things would be taken care of. There were maybe a few minor issues on the day of but everything was taken care of quickly.

My husband and I met with five potential caterers during our planning process and none tasted nearly as good (not even the several that were more costly) as what Ken prepared for us. On top of the fact that we wanted our food to be delicious, we also had to work around the obstacles presented by having our wedding for 170 guests in our parent’s backyard. Ken made us feel confident in his abilities to get the job done and helped add to the vision we already had. He brought up many amazing ideas – food and decor related – that I hadn’t thought of on my own and that truly made our day all the better. He was patient in explaining every angle and scenario to our family well in advance. He made several trips out to the house to see the venue and stood in the rain outside measuring areas for tables and tents all with a smile. He coordinated the order of our rentals from multiple locations to ensure we received what we wanted at the best price. He constantly asked how we were feeling throughout the process. He set the tone that this was our wedding and his goal was for us to have the best time possible. His staff was extremely attentive, professional and friendly. Guests not only commented on the amazing food but also on smiling servers that undoubtedly contributed to the overall happiness of the day. I truly can’t give a high enough endorsement of Diverse. Ken is passionate about his work, sincere about helping a couple get what they want and more than capable of orchestrating a flawless wedding. We had power issues during our wedding and Ken not only made sure the food was out on time and hot but also resolved the power trouble for our band, while managing our space heaters. He was 10 places at once the whole night and our guests never knew it. Diverse didn’t just provide us food for our wedding; they provided on-site coordination that couldn’t have been topped. I am absolutely certain our wedding would not have been nearly as well executed had we chosen anyone else.

We used Diverse Catering and Event Design for our daughter's wedding. I cannot thank Ken Correll and his entire staff for everything they did that made our daughter and son in law's wedding such a wonderful event. In addition to the food tasting delicious, we want to be sure to let everyone here know how much effort Ken gave in advance of the wedding with the "event planning" part of his business. In addition to communications via email and phone, Ken met with us a a couple of times in advance, and when he met with us, we were never rushed. His suggestions were well thought out, creative, and when the wedding day arrived, it was clear how great his ideas were. Everything from suggestions on the wedding ceremony itself to the decor and design elements were all made in a way that took into account our wishes--they were never forced.
Finally, his team that worked for the event could not have been better. In addition to the quality of their work, every person we met from that team was incredibly friendly. It was clear that they wanted the wedding day to be special. They also went to great lengths to insure that some of the older guests with physical limitations were taken care of. At the end of the evening and throughout the next day, we kept hearing from our family and friends who wanted to tell us what a wonderful wedding it was, and how much fun they had.
As I told Ken afterwards, our daughter and son in law were thrilled with the entire afternoon and night—and in the end, what more can the parents of the bride ask for?

We used Diverse Catering and Event Design for our wedding and I am so incredibly happy with everything they did for us. From the very beginning, Ken Correll was thorough and attentive and helped us to figure out exactly what we wanted to include. He met with us several times and did numerous walk throughs at our venue (Bartram's Garden in Philadelphia PA) to map out exactly where everything would go and the flow of events. For food, we had international stations (Cuban, French and Eastern European) and it was AMAZING. Everyone was raving about how delicious everything tasted. Even more importantly, I was blown away by how truly cordial the entire Diverse Catering event staff was towards our friends and family. I saw Ken himself making my grandmother (who is in a wheelchair) a plate! They were truly remarkable and went above and beyond to help us plan, and execute, the wedding of our dreams. It would not have happened without Diverse Catering and Event Design and I would absolutely recommend them to everyone.

I cannot say enough good things about our experience with Diverse Catering. Ken and Mike were wonderful to work with. When we first met with Ken and started planning our wedding, he tipped us off to some other great vendors that we wouldn't have known about otherwise. He understood our vision and helped us create a wedding better than we could have ever hoped for! The week leading up to the wedding, the forecast was not looking great. Ken and Mike were in constant contact with us, updating us on the inclement weather plans. I knew that we would be in good hands even if it rained!

The day of the wedding, Mike was present the ENTIRE time, working harder than anyone there! They went above and beyond for us, to make sure that everything was just as we wanted and that we had a great time. The reception was beyond stunning and the staff were extremely friendly. Some of our guests commented that the staff was so friendly and welcoming that it felt like they were eating at a friend's house.
Mike and Ken are caterers, but they are almost like wedding planners! They set up all of our decorations and tables, and really made everything look spectacular.

I can't say enough how glad we were to have used them for our wedding!!!!

We were lucky to work with both Ken and Mike for our wedding at the Free Library in Philadelphia last weekend. Not only are they fantastic caterers, but they are both wonderfully nice people that made us feel instantly comfortable with them. They were very flexible and open to our suggestions; it was clear from the beginning that they pride themselves on delivering a quality, custom experience for the couples that they work with. We didn't have a wedding planner, but it turns out we didn't need one because Ken and Mike knew our venue inside and out. We didn't worry about a thing because we knew we were in very capable hands. That kind of peace of mind on such a hectic day is priceless.

And the food! It was delicious, diverse, and plentiful. We got so many compliments about how fantastic the food was, both during the cocktail hour and for dinner itself. These guys can make pretty much anything. We had three stations: PA Dutch Harvest, Italian, and Moroccan. The food was different enough at each station that there was something for everyone, though quite a few guests told us that they tried a little bit of everything from each station, all to rave reviews.

I also wanted to say how fantastic the rest of the staff was as well. Everyone was incredibly helpful and they worked really well as a team. I can't say enough good things about this company. We're recommending them to all of our friends who are getting married -- partially so that we can eat more of their delicious food, but also because Ken and Mike deserve all the success in the world.

We could not be happier that we chose Diverse Catering for our recent wedding at Power Plant Productions. It was perfect!!

We worked with Mike Schmidt, who works alongside Ken Correll at Diverse. After meeting with them and explaining our vision and the number of guests we expected, they quickly helped us formulate the type of menu we wanted. We didn't want the typical boring chicken entree served with vegetables type of wedding food. The hor dourves for cocktail hour were creative, delicious, fresh, and plentiful! We had three stations for our guests with different themes at each- Thai curry station with romaine and toppings, Mediterranean station with salmon, couscous and BBQ brisket station with mac n cheese. All three were a hit! The mac and cheese was out of this world and the BBQ was amazing. We got so many complements about the awesome food. We are huge foodies who live in center city and eat out all the time so you can rest assured that Diverse knows their food. In fact, their stellar food, reasonable price quote, and personal attention to what we wanted were why we went with Diverse over other options.

In terms of decor, we did it all ourselves, packed the centerpieces into boxes according to table number, told Mike how we wanted it laid out across the tables, and he and his crew did all the hard work and made it look just as I had envisioned! Mike was very thorough making sure he figured out exactly how I wanted the reception to look.

Additionally, on the day of, Mike served as an excellent coordinator, helping our reception move along super smoothly. Again, we could not be happier that we picked Diverse for our wedding!

Yes, people commented on the beautiful bride and the lovely venue and perfect weather, but the compliment we heard most was how wonderful our caterer was. Ken correll is a godsend. He brought our vision to life, created a space which vibed perfectly with our aesthetic, and delivered incredible food and impeccable service. He went above and beyond, getting our flower girls a tantrum-averting snack of sliders, cared for our elderly guests and delivered a sampler plate of horsdoeuvres to their table. We unequivocally recommend him to anyone who wants a caterer to bring their dream wedding to life.

In complete honesty, words cannot describe how impressed my wife and I were with Ken and Diverse Catering; nothing we write here will ever explain how well he ran our event. But of course, I'll try.

For starters, Ken was extremely flexible with our budget. We started off with a slighter tighter budget than we ended with, and felt like he gave us exceptional packages in every category. Then, along the way, he served as our very own wedding consultant, answering every question thoroughly and thoughtfully. He knew our venue (Bartram's Garden) better than anybody, and was able to walk us through all the details with strong clarity. Ken was so detail-oriented we entered our wedding day without any concerns--and that was huge!

And of course, the food was delicious. I can't tell you how many guests came up to us and commented on the quality of the food. Ken helped us craft an elegant menu that everybody enjoyed.

I'm missing many of the little details that make Ken and Diverse exceptional--like his individual care for each of his couples, his knack for taking care of EVERYTHING on the wedding day, his beautifully-decorated buffet table, his communication with other vendors, and his overall kindness--so you'll have to find out for yourself.

I can't imagine that caterers come better than Ken. Highly, highly recommended.

Expert detailed attention to our daughter's wedding at Ridley Creek State Park Hunting Hill Mansion. From the pre ceremony set up to the ceremony to the cocktail hour, dinner, cake cutting, special dances and so on, Mike Schmidt, was professional, organized and attentive especially to us so we would not miss any precious moments. In addition, the food was delicious, presented well and served by a wonderful staff who were ever so helpful as the wedding bliss came to a close. We loved our experience with Diverse Catering as everything was absolutely fabulous from the food to the service! Mike Schmidt was wonderful to work with. He was able to work with our budget and our ideas of what we wanted our wedding day to be. He graciously made recommendation for both the food and and the organization of the event. His knowledge of our venue (Colonial Dames in Philadelphia) as well his close relationship with the overseer of the venue was indispensable. When it came to the big day we were a little nervous because Mike was unable to attend however he put us in the equally expert hands of Rick who skillfully helped make everything run so smoothly despite our own disorganized and chaotic families. The staff were professional yet down to earth as was evident when one of the serves let loose on the dance floor for just a moment. Did I mention the food was absolutely wonderful? Its been a month and our friends and family are still raving about the delicious country mashed potatoes, salmon with ginger ratatouille, and (my personal favorite) the blackened catfish with spicy honey sauce. We are more than thrilled with how the day turned out and we would love to recommend your services to as many people as possible

Diverse catered our wedding at Ridley Creek State Park. We met with several caterers before choosing to go with Mike and his team at Diverse. It was the easiest decision we made during our planning.

Mike is truly gifted at what he does. From the first meeting, it was clear that he puts his clients' needs above all else and lets the rest take care of itself.

My wife and I are both working professionals with little interest in event planning. We didn't know exactly what we wanted. Mike listened carefully to our preferences, budget, and got a sense for our style and tastes. He then took his notes and came up with an incredible menu that was well within our budget.

Furthermore, in the days leading up to our wedding, Mike embraced the roll of planner/coordinator. He worked with all of our other vendors and our wedding party to make sure everything went smoothly the day of. Its hard to imagine how we would have handled day of logistics without Mike.

We have been receiving complements on the menu for several weeks now. A few of our guests have told us, without provocation, that it was the best food they've had at a wedding.

The wait staff, the bartenders, and the chefs were all exceptionally courteous and accommodating. The service was seamless, and they made absolutely sure all the guests were being taken care of with a smile. Very professional and warm.

I've probably missed a lot of great things I could say about Diverse. Just read the other reviews and you will get the idea. Its all true. They are awesome. We had a perfect day and Diverse was a big part of it. Look no further.

They decorated, planned, organized, cooked, did it all. Honestly, if something went wrong... I had no idea, because it was handled. They are amazing.

Diverse Catering made what is known to be a very stressful process, and turned it on it's head and helped make not only our wedding special, but the time leading up to it as well. When you decide to go with Diverse Catering, you are not only getting a caterer, but you are also getting a group that takes charge, and helps direct the flow of the day and all the other parties that are involved. We had a very rainy day at the Colonial Dames, and Mike and his team helped coordinate a day that we had to make up as we went along due to weather restrictions.

But Catering is all about food right? The food was spot on! Often times you hear stories of people having these tasting sessions, but then the food is entirely 'off' when it comes time to the big day. I couldn't be happier though, as self proclaimed foodies, it meant a lot to my wife and I to have people ranting and raving (even to this day) about how good the food was at our wedding. We had a very traditional American theme for ours, but nothing about it was blasé.

I wish we could do it all over again, or have another big event just so we can hire Diverse.

The food was a very important part of the wedding for me and my Italian family and it was AMAZING!!!! If I wasn't wearing a wedding dress, I would have stuffed myself to the max. The family style was great because everyone could eat what they wanted, they could ask for more food, and they didn't have to get up out of their seats. Mike was so helpful and energetic in the whole process. He took part in the rehearsal and was essentially a wedding planner for me too. I would recommend his food and services for anyone. The only thing I would have changed was to ask for a doggy bag after the wedding!

We had our wedding at the Power Plant Productions and you are able to choose any catering service you would like. We looked a quite a few different companies, but once I spoke with Mike at Diverse, I knew we had found the right caterer. Having really great food at our wedding was so important to us, but we also didn't have an unlimited budget. Mike worked with us to fit our budget and still have an outstanding menu. He was there to answer any questions (not just about food) during the planning and served as more of a wedding coordinator than just the caterer. Ken was with us the day of the wedding and he was calm and collected at all times. Everything ran so smoothly and Ken even brought some additional decorations for the place card table at the last minute. I can't recommend Diverse Catering enough for a wedding or any other event. What a fantastic company and great owners!!

Ken and the Diverse Catering Staff are EXCELLENT! Ken was there for our family and friends throughout the whole process. We had a Family Style Rehearsal Dinner and Food Stations at the Wedding Reception, both held at the Crane Arts Ice Box. I don't know where to begin.... Rehearsal Dinner- Sesame crusted Sea Bass and Chicken Breast, both equally melt in your mouth, delicious! Topped off with a rich, decadent Creme Brûlée for dessert. The Food Stations at the reception offers family and friends multiple choices to be adventurous and try new dishes and accompanients. We had Four Stations- Tuscan, North African, Thailand and Mashed Potato Bar. Choices were Teres Filet, Grilled Salmon, Massaman Curry and a mashed potato bar . I loved the bordelaise sauce and candied bacon!. Every dish was accompanied with multiple side dishes, all perfectly done. Ken kept the stations fully stocked and displayed beautifully. The buttered Horse d'oeuvres were a big hit! Mini fish tacos, Bite size Grilled cheese Tomato soup shooter, shrimp salad in cucumber cup, cheese steak pierogies, mini burgers and Tom Yum Soup shooter with Shrimp Sword. Then Dessert-- fresh baked pies-- Apple, Peach, Pumpkin, cider donuts and ice cream!!! We can't thank everybody enough at Diverse Catering for a phenomenal Wedding Reception!

Words can't even describe what an incredible job Ken and his crew at Diverse catering did at our Bartram's Garden wedding. During the wedding planning process Ken was actually the first and only caterer that we met. He was so awesome at our first meeting that we actually canceled all of the other meetings that we had scheduled. From the very beginning, Ken understood our vision and how to execute it on our wedding day. When I saw everything set up the day of the wedding, I was almost moved to tears at how beautiful it all looked. There were little touches that he added the day of that we didn't even discuss that were amazing. When rain was threatening leading up to the wedding, Ken had a great rain plan and made us feel completely comfortable. During the wedding itself, if any guest even had a puzzled look on their face for a second, Ken was there to ask them if they needed anything. And the food...I haven't even mentioned how awesome it all was! Ken was able to deliver on everything from gourmet to the comfort foods we wanted. Everything, particularly the mac and cheese and cheesesteak pierogis got rave reviews.

Ken is a caterer/wedding planning extraordinaire. I would recommend Diverse to anyone planning a wedding without hesitation!

We had our wedding on 7/19/13. Mike and Ken from Diverse Catering were absolutely wonderful! From the moment we sat down with Mike to do our tasting we knew Diverse Catering was the one for us! Our experience was wonderful. Mike and his team were extremely professional, helpful, and on top of everything the whole night! It was one of the hottest days of the summer and everyone from the Diverse Catering staff was very professional, friendly, and welcoming to our guests. The food and service was superb! We could not have asked for more. Our guests were calling us the next day to let us know how wonderful the food and service was. Do yourselves a favor and hire Diverse Catering! A truly wonderful experience for my husband and I.

Working with Diverse was one of the easiest and best decisions we made for our wedding. We had been referred to Ken & Mike through multiple sources, and we knew from the very first meeting that they were the perfect fit for us as a couple and our guests. Working with Ken & Mike was like working with old friends. They truly care about every client, every detail and the product and service which they are providing. Their relaxed attitude and friendly demeanor was extremely comforting and allowed us to speak candidly about budget, likes and dislikes and to work as a team throughout the entire process. Ken & Mike went out of their way on many occasions to meet us, our other vendors, take our calls, conduct walk-through, coordinate tasting for our family and collaborate on menu, design and other creative aspects of our reception. The reworked our budget and menu as many times as requested and addressed every request timely and with pleasure - they even purchased supplies and ingredients for my father, allowing him to use their catering kitchen and make 250 cannoli's for our wedding - now that is customer service!! Service was excellent and our guest went our of their way to rave about how spectacular the food was at our wedding. We had complete confidence in the diverse team from day one and would recommend them for any and all occasions.

Fathers of the bride want no hassles before or during the wedding. They don't expect much help. We were guided at every step and there were zero hassles. The best was the food and the staff. Ken seems always there but in background. The staff at all times anticipated our needs. The food rivals the best of any restaurant in the area. I overheard two people on the cell phones telling people they missed the best they had ever been too. People are still calling us to tell us how great was the reception.

Wedding was a smash success.

Mike and the Diverse Catering team are without a doubt some of the most amazing and professional people I have every worked with! I would classify myself as a wee bit of a control freak and had a very specific vision when it came to my wedding. Somehow Mike managed to keep me calm and relaxed and actually was able to tell my vision to his team and they had everything PERFECT on our wedding day! He even miraculously popped out of nowhere with an umbrella when we had a freak 5min downpour! The man is magic! If you decide to go with Diverse (which if you don't...you're crazy), you won't have to worry about wanting for anything nor worrying about anything on your big day. I had so many friends telling me to "make sure you get some of your food, brides and grooms never get to actually eat", but that will NOT be a problem if you go with Mike and his team. Every time one of our glasses was empty someone magically appeared asking if I needed anything or if my husband needed anything. They even made a tray of two of each hors d'oeuvres waiting for us at the receiving line! Mike himself even come to ask which sorbet flavor I wanted he was so afraid I would miss out on it during the late night dance hour. Diverse is truly amazing! I had such a great time working and planning with them it made me wish I worked with them on a daily basis! They are all truly wonderful and dedicated people. I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone!

My wedding recepetion was nothing short of amazing! Thanks to the team at Diverse Catering I was able to relax and enjoy my big day. Ken Correll was awesome, he took control and handled anything that needed to be handled, he we on top of everything from coordinating vendors to serving and not to mention the most amazing food!!! My guests are still taking about how good the food was and I have to agree!! We found Diverse Catering through the list of recommended caterers from our venue - Ridley Creek State Park. After researching and meeting with a few - we scheduled a tasting with Mike Schmidt from Diverse. The food was absolutely amazing, and we signed with him on the spot.
From the very beginning, the way Diverse does business was above and beyond. Mike sent us a few quotes with different menu options to work with our vision and budget. He wouldn't take a deposit or even a signed contract until after we tasted his work, which was a sampling of the menu we were leaning toward. He was always very responsive with emails, and also very patient with our questions and unusual detail requests. He made everything so easy! We met with him a few times at the venue for walkthroughs - these were all fantastic brainstorming sessions where the 3 of us would throw an idea on the table and fine tune it until the vision was crystal clear. We didn't want a cookie cutter wedding and were nervous about our grilling station and s'mores firepit happening - but Mike was right there encouraging us, even supplying the firepit, along with a few other items, so we didn't have to buy one.

The food:
I can't say enough good things. As soon as our car pulled up after taking photos at the church, Mike met us with a tray of delicious hors d'oeuvres that our bridal party and we devoured before taking more photos. We had a 3 station menu - Tuscan with pastas, chicken and bread, Moroccan with a huge salmon on display as it was served, and a grilling station that was set up outside during cocktail hour, (piquing our guests' interest) with beef, chicken, and shrimp kabobs, and also a mashed potato bar. You always hear that you never get to eat during your own wedding but my husband and I were served first and we both ate our entire meal. Our guests LOVED the food! We saw people with towers of food, going up for seconds. People couldn't stop talking about it.

We had our wedding and reception at Ridley Creek State Park, which works with eight contracted catering services. We met with a number of the vendors, but we chose Diverse Catering for their great food options and down-to-earth customer service. We never felt as though our wedding was being “project managed,” although they insured every detail was in place along the way. Our coordinator, Mike, was more like a supportive friend than point-of-contact, and he and his excellent staff made sure our guests were taken care of throughout the evening (in particular, they took wonderful care of my mom! She was delighted.) During and after the wedding, we received many compliments about the service. We chose a buffet approach with multiple cuisine options, and we heard from dozens of our guests that it was the best wedding dining experience they could remember. Our wedding was a fantastic experience, and we are grateful that we chose Diverse Catering to oversee it.

We had the pleasure of working with Mike Schmidt through Diverse Catering this past September for our wedding. Please do yourself a favor and work with him! He is a calm, down-to-earth and very pleasant individual who loves what he does and loves to make people happy. He provides service much more than just a caterer, he is like a wedding planner! He helped plan the day, helped with the procession and movement of guests, and was more than willing to step in wherever needed. Mike encouraged us to personalize the wedding and made it possible to do so.

The food Diverse Catering provides absolutely delicious. We had dozens of compliments about it after the wedding (which is unusual because nobody really remembers the food)! Mike will always answer his phone and be happy to accommodate any requests or answer any questions. He goes out of his way to make everything convenient for you! We were so happy to see that he goes above and beyond to cater to the needs of guests. The team helped the elderly get their food instead of walking up to the buffet.

Most importantly, Mike provides a sense of calm and happiness for both families in the wedding. He was out there dancing with my parents and making sure everyone had a great time! His energy is absolutely amazing and it shows that he's in the right profession. The next day, he even called to share his best wishes and thanked us.. but really- we are the ones who are full of gratitude for his great services!!!

I would absolutely recommend this caterer to any of my closest friends and family. Using a small company and working with one of the owners makes everything a little more personalized and special. Besides, Mike will make you smile every time you work with him! :)

We found Diverse Catering through the list from our venue - Ridley Creek. After researching and meeting with a few - we scheduled a tasting with Mike Schmidt.
From the beginning, the way Diverse does business was above and beyond. Mike sent us a few quotes with different menu options to work with our vision and budget. He wouldn't take a deposit or even a signed contract until after we tasted his work, a sampling of the menu we wanted. He was always very responsive with emails, and very patient with our questions. He made everything so easy! We met with him a few times at the venue for walkthroughs - these were all fantastic brainstorming sessions where the 3 of us would discuss an idea and fine tune it until the vision was crystal clear. We didn't want a cookie cutter wedding and were nervous about our atypical detail requests - but Mike was completely onboard, even supplying the firepit for smores.
I can't say enough good things about the food. As soon as our car pulled up from the church, Mike met us with a tray of delicious hors d'oeuvres that we devoured before taking photos. We had a 3 station menu - Tuscan with pastas and chicken, Moroccan with a whole salmon on display as it was served, and a grilling station with beef, chicken, and shrimp kabobs, and also a mashed potato bar. You always hear that you never get to eat during your own wedding but my husband and I were served first and we both ate our entire meal. Our guests LOVED the food! We saw people with towers of food, going up for seconds. People couldn't raving.
Not only is his food unbeatable, but Mike acted as our DOC, running the whole reception. The decor was 100% as we imagined, and the events of the night all went off without a hitch. From beginning to end, Mike had everything taken care of so we didn't have to worry about a single thing but enjoying our day. Our wedding was nothing less than perfect and we will always remember what an impact he was on implementing our dream wedding.

Not only were my husband and I thrilled with Diverse Catering & Events services at our wedding, our guests also complimented us on their food and staff. Ken, Mike & team offered us many valuable suggestions for our menu, venue set-up and schedule, down to the nitty gritty details of where our glasses would be for the toasts.

Our outdoor cocktail hour quickly had to become an indoor event due to the weather and Ken and team handled it all without even having to bother us as we got ready for our wedding.

Throughout our wedding, ken and staff checked in with us to make sure we had everything we needed and if they needed to make any changes.

"This was the best food I have ever had at a wedding!" said all of our guests. Everyone at Diverse Catering is very good at what they do. Ken and Mike worked with us to make sure that the food was exactly as we wanted it throughout our wedding reception. They also went beyond our expectations by helping to pace the days events make sure everything stayed on schedule. Ken and his team were absolutely wonderful! So many other caterers I talked to were overpriced and into doing things their own way without a lot of options. Ken had great ideas to stay within our budget, our vision, and our special requests (like using local food and compostable plates). He was a wealth of information about all of the details of our wedding and basically orchestrated the day for us (ceremony included) so that we didn't have to worry about anything. I've recommended Diverse Catering to many friends since and everyone has been more than pleased!

We just experienced a magical event for our daughter's wedding. Prior to the wedding Ken Correll gave great attention to planning the wedding just as our daughter wanted. Mike and his team at Diverse Catering and Events catered our wedding at the Mansion at Ridley Creek in June. Not only did they do an extraordinary job, but they were also fantastic to work with. For an out of town bride, Mike made planning as easy as it could possibly be and pulled out all the stops to work flexibly with me. In addition, he managed/coordinated the rehearsal and all activities on the wedding day, allowing my husband and I (plus our families) to be able to relax and enjoy the day. His team provided fantastic food and service – I received so many compliments both during and after the wedding, even from our foodie friends. Mike’s experience, attention to detail, and suggestions were invaluable during the planning stages as well as on the wedding day.

Our entire experience with Diverse Catering was fantastic, but here are some examples of why I think they’re in a separate league to other caterers:

- Mike was incredibly responsive and accommodated my schedule. Mike was willing to provide a tasting for us on a Sunday because during my one visit to town (I live abroad) before the wedding week, that was the only day that I could do it.
- His team was able to specially create a specific hors d’oeuvre for us that wasn’t part of their standard options and was fantastic!
- On the wedding day, Mike was able to coordinate a last minute change with our musicians after I had made a mistake, so that everything went smoothly and I didn’t need to worry about anything.
- It rained right before the (outdoor) ceremony, yet Mike monitored the weather forecast, waited and his team quickly dried off the seats so we could proceed when the sun came out
- While being photographed during the cocktail hour, my husband and I were brought hors d’oeuvres and drinks so we didn’t miss out on anything
- His staff were so attentive that when a relative of mine went to leave to put a baby to sleep, they noticed and boxed up her meal for her to take without anyone saying anything
- Did I mention the food was outstanding?

I could go on and on about the fantastic experience we had with Mike and Diverse Catering. Hiring them was one of the best decisions I made for our wedding, and I would strongly recommend them.

Michael Schmidt from Diverse Catering was excellent. We have already recommended him to two friends who are in the middle of wedding planning.

Diverse Catering was one of many per-approved caterers for a venue that we were pursuing, but which ultimately fell through. We were initially attracted to Diverse Catering because of their outstanding reviews and the fact that they do more than just catering. Diverse Catering will take care of rentals and even step into role of event planner. We were looking at non-traditional venues that would require everything to be brought in, and having a caterer take care of all of this responsibility was really important.

Mike was very easy to work with. We primarily emailed, but he always picked up the phone when I occasionally called. To help manage costs and give our guests more options, we went with a buffet. Mike helped work with our budget and offered some cost saving advice which we took. We found his prices to be very reasonable and significantly less than all the other center city philly caterers. The food was outstanding - all of our guests raved about the food and many went up for seconds. Our wedding coordinator said that our tasting was the best food tasting that she has ever been to.

Mike did more than just cater. He took care of chair rentals, helped us find a different venue when our first choice fell through, provided a cake, and helped que the bridal party as we went down the aisle. He did full set-up and break down of the ceremony space, cocktail hour, and reception hall. He also provided bartenders and helped us figure out how much alcohol and mixers to provide - we came home with almost empty bottles - his estimates were dead on.

A number of guests, including my grandmother-in-law, mentioned how attentive and courteous the staff of Diverse Catering were. Mike had his staff in and venue set-up in a few hours and were out in 1 hour. Our venue was very picky about the floors, and Mike was able to provide felt pads on the feet of the rental chairs and his staff did a full wet mop of the floors prior to leaving. I do believe Mike left the venue cleaner than when we found it. Lastly, the wedding coordinator said this was the easiest wedding she has done so far, and I think Mike and his staff played a huge role in helping the event run so smoothly.

Our food: Terres Filet (cuts like a fillet minon), Moroccan Grilled Salmon (presentation was outstanding), Gorgonzola Pasta, Poached pear with Caramelized cashews Salad, grilled vegetables, yukon gold potatoes. For the after party, we served make your own cheese stakes and philly pretzels with beer infused cheese.

Ken, Mike, Suzy and the rest of the Diverse Catering team did a phenomenal job catering our wedding on Sunday! The food was delicious! The service was superior! Many guests raved about both and expressed that they were extremely impressed by the professionalism and seamless execution of the entire event. As the bride, I was able to completely relax and enjoy the experience. They were so exceptional that, even when our daughter injured herself during the Best Man's speech, Mike immediately brought me some ice for her arm. He was so attentive and went above and beyond not just for the groom and me, but for every guest. I highly recommend Diverse Catering. We used Diverse to cater our wedding and could not have been happier with the results. Ken went above and beyond all expectations, with all aspects of the event. From designing a menu that had a vegetarian option for every station to helping plan and execute that layout and decor, Ken was there with numerous tips, insights and suggestions for every step.
The food itself was amazing. We have had a lot of friends, both vegetarian and meat eaters comment that it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding.
The reception was held on the roof of the Philadelphia Free Library; Ken and his staff handled the set up and decorating. They did a fantastic job, including locating vendors for the all the extra details that we wanted, such as chairs and lighting. He also surprised us with special touches from his own "prop" closet that fit in perfectly with our theme and decor. As I mentioned before, Ken went above and beyond; he got the Cotton Candy machine that was mentioned on a whim months before the event.
We strongly recommend using Ken and Diverse for your event.

We could not of ask for anything more. When I first called to plan sons wedding I had no idea what we wanted. Mike and Ken were a big help. From the ceremony to the reception Ken was very helpful. The cocktail hour was great. The hors d'oeuvres were great everybody said how delicious they were and plentiful. The dinner was wonderful even the vegetables that the bride and groom picked were great and everyone loved them. Considering we had three choices for the entree and a sit down dinner Ken was great. I can't say enough about him. Everyone received what they ordered and there was more than enough food between the cocktail hour and the dinner. The wedding was beautiful and very good. The sweet table was great to. If it wasn't for Ken I don't think the evening would of turned out so good. He was also right there if we needed anything during the entire affair from beginning till end. I can't thank them enough for everything they did for us. I am very happy that we went with them and the Holiday Inn they also helped us with reserving our block of rooms. We will never forget the night that Ken made for us. There is nothing bad we can say from the planning to the night of the wedding, Ken helped to make it a special day for us. Over all it was an amazing experience working with Ken and Mike. I would most certainly return to the Holiday Inn for future affairs.

Mike Schmidt and Diverse Catering are simply fantastic! We were so lucky to find Mike and have him as our wedding planner and caterer for our wonderful fall wedding at Colonial Dames in Philadelphia, PA. Mike, from the moment we met him, was so easy to talk to. He clearly loves his job and is amazing at what he does! Mike was available whenever we needed him for questions, ideas, and always seemed to have the answer. Mike suggested our venue, he had all the supplies needed to make our day picture perfect. Mike helped us make the necessary decisions at the appropriate time and kept us calm and collected. He met with us at our convience to discuss the menu, linens, etc for the reception. We also had a great time at our tasting at the Holiday Inn where Diverse Catering is located. Mike was so much fun and kept us smiling through all the planning. In the weeks leading up to our wedding, Mike was always prompt with his responses to our many questions. Mike was at our rehearsal and really showed us his wonderful planning skills and kept us focused. The day of our wedding Mike and the staff of Diverse Catering went above and beyond any and all of my expectations. All of our favors, decorations and everything we brought in were set up exactly the way we wanted them. The servers and bartenders were so friendly and were so excited for us! Our guests had nothing but rave reviews of the service they provided. The food, the atmosphere, everything was perfect! My wife and I had no worries that day. Mike and the Diverse team were a DREAM COME TRUE on the day of our wedding and provided services extending far beyond catering. From our very first meeting, Mike was intent to incorporate all of our ideas and wishes into the day. He worked with us to create a stunning menu, provided a sit down tasting for the immediate family, coordinated with the other vendors to make sure the day ran smoothly, attended our rehearsal the night before, and managed the set up of decorations/prep on the day.

As if that’s not enough, the food and service is exquisite! Guests raved about the “family style” serving, the attentive wait staff, amazing food, and the much appreciated pre-service snack for our guests (suggested by Mike) featuring mulled (spiked :)!) cider with sweet treats from our families favorite recipes.

We are still receiving glowing compliments from our guests about the warm/ inviting atmosphere and personalization on our wedding day. I completely attribute the flawless success to Mike and the Diverse Catering team.

We will ABSOLUTELY be using Diverse Catering for future celebrations and WHOLE HEARTEDLY recommend them!

I chose Mike and Diverse bc from the onset I could tell that he cared and took my wedding as more then just a paycheck. He went above and beyond offering services even the venue and other vendors stated are out of the realm of normal caterers. Diverse volunteered to be at my rehersal and acted as planners the day of. Simply put, they were my peace of mind that my wedding would go off without a hitch. I received treatment i would never imagine receiving from the most expensive and coveted caterers at such a gracious price. Not to mention mike and his staff were a pleasure the day of and guests all commented on their pleasant, sociable and fun personalities. Such a jewel that is so hard to find! superb food, excellent caterer

I was lucky to find Mike Schmidt's business card for Diverse Catering at my venue, and he was excellent to work with! All the guests loved him and the food--3 months later people are still saying that ours was the most beautiful wedding they've ever attended, and that Mike was incredible. Mike was utterly professional and never intrusive, just gently guiding, and we agreed on everything--he has great taste! He even stepped into the role of wedding planner and coordinator when needed, without my asking. I was not able to fit a tasting into my schedule and he assured me he was known for his food--he was right! Our only snafu was that he forgot I had already ordered a wedding cake from the awesome Papa's Pastry, so he supplied us with a second cake that we didn't need...which our guests enjoyed at the hotel the next day anyway. Otherwise Mike made sure everything went smoothly, and all his servers were particularly attentive to myself and my groom. We were even able to offer our guests 3 choices for entrees for no extra fee, and he brought a couple vegetarian meals by request as well. Mike made me feel that everything was under control at all times and I had a lot of fun working with him.

Thanks to Ken and Mike of Diverse Catering and Event Design our daughter's wedding was a classy and memorable event. Although we hired Ken as our wedding caterer, he ended up being so much more. As the nervous mother of the bride, I wasn't sure how all the pieces to my daughter's garden wedding would come together. But each time we met with Ken, and he was always available to us, I felt more comfortable that he had all aspects of my daughter's wedding well in hand. And on the day of the wedding, everything came together perfectly, from setup to finish. The food was amazing as were all of the personal touches including the attentiveness of Ken and his staff to everything going on.

Ken and Mike from Diverse Catering were a dream to work with. Every time we met with Ken leading up to the wedding we left feeling cool, collected, and in control of our plans for the big day. He listened to our ideas for food, style, and atmosphere and carried out the event with finesse, down to the smallest details. He also had wonderful suggestions for us along the way; from what kind of food to offer, to the colors of the linens (even small details for how to incorporate our "honey bee" theme into the linens by adding a black runner to the yellow table cloth to make it look a little bit like a bee!). He even surprised us by including some small details into the wedding that he knew we wanted but didn't have time to supply ourselves (ball jars for people to drink out of pre-ceremony).

The wedding day was also spectacular; Ken's staff was incredibly attentive to me and my husband, our family, and all of our guests. They were professional, and warm and approachable at the same time. I really can't say enough about how thrilled we were with the entire event. I would absolutely recommend Ken and Diverse Catering to anyone who is planning a wedding or event in the Philadelphia area.

A month after our wedding, and all of our friends and family are STILL talking about how delicious the food was. We picked Diverse because we'd loved their food at a friend's wedding, and they delivered for us ALL THE WAY. The food was not just tasty, but really unique--they went out of their way to craft a menu that genuinely reflected US as a couple--even going so far as to use our recipe for one of the hors d'oeurves. Each special little touch was a delightful surprise and a great way to add real personality to the food. They accommodated special dietary requests completely and happily, and provided prices that were UNBELIEVABLY competitive. We will ABSOLUTELY be using them again in the future, and will recommend them enthusiastically to all of our friends who get married down the road...mostly so we can eat their great food again!

Mike Schmidt from Diverse Catering was exceptionally professional and easy to work with. He created a custom German menu for us that rivaled anything we had eaten in Germany. His presentation was beautiful without being overwhelming. He was quick to respond to our questions and very accommodating. My guests had only glowing reviews of his staff and their professionalism as well.
My mother was too ill to travel so we video conferenced her in to the reception. Mike took time to carry the computer around and make sure she could witness all the important events and had good views of the entire venue.

We were so pleased with the seamless operation that Michael and his staff provided for our same-sex wedding. The location was in center city Philadelphia on a Sunday in the community room of our high rise co-op. He preformed an amazing transformation of the space; turning it into a beautiful banquet room. Our guests were stunned at how beautiful his team made it. The food was raved about; the quality, the professionalism of his staff and presentation were beyond our expectations. He provided the florist for the flowers and they to were perfect. All-in-all, I cannot highly recommend any other caterer other than Michael's group.

the food is AMAZING! my now husband and I are all about food! and I'm a designer who always needs things to look great, but we also have a small budget. I could not have been more excited with the way our venue looked on our wedding day, I did the decor myself and dropped it off for them to set everything up and it looked just the way I wanted to, they also added some of their own touches and they looked great with my decorations. All of our guests could not stop talking about how good the food was and I could not stop being excited about how smooth everything was going!

I was recently married at the Crane Arts Center. We started planning about a year early and did our tasting with Ken and Diverse the December before our wedding. The food was amazing! Food was definitely the most important part of the wedding to me and Diverse did not disappoint. We ended up liking the tasting so much, we booked Diverse for my mom's 60th in August.

My mom and I did most of my wedding planning so the day of we did not have a coordinator. Mike and Ken were AMAZING. Mike came to our rehearsal the night before and got everyone in line and let them know what they needed to do. They worked with the band to coordinate the music, the photobooth, everything.

While the food and bar were both amazing, it was the fact that they handled everything that went above and beyond. After we said our vows in the garden, they rushed us into the reception area, so we could have a couple private minutes and eat some apps.

We got SO many compliments on the Philadelphia neighborhood stations, the passed apps, the bar (never had a line) and how smooth the wedding was in general.

The coordination between Ken and Mike handling everything the day of was amazing. Highly recommend!

We booked Diverse Catering over a year before our wedding. As soon as we met with Mike, we felt very comfortable booking him! He found out that my favorite food was mac and cheese, so he offered to create a mac and cheese bar for my cocktail hour (complete with toppings such as bacon!). After tasting the food we booked him right away! During our wedding planning, Mike was always polite and responsive, although sometimes it did take him a bit of time to get back to me, and he didn't always completely answer my questions. Overall I was very happy that I chose to work with Diverse Catering. 2 days before the wedding, we discovered an error with the food order, and Mike handled it in a very professional manner. He was always concerned with giving me the best possible service for our wedding day and was very accommodating to all of my requests. He was also flexible with the pricing and was willing to cut back some items to fit into my budget. On the night of my rehearsal, Mike and his partner, Rick, ran the rehearsal and did a great job keeping everyone focused and on task. At that time we learned that Mike, who we had been communicating with all year, would not be coordinating my wedding as planned and that Rick would be working with me instead. At first I was worried, because there were so many details about our wedding and I was concerned that something would be overlooked. On the day of the wedding, everything went so smoothly and I had no reason to be concerned! Rick did a great job setting up the room the way that I wanted and all of his staff members were very polite, professional, and looked genuinely excited for me and my husband. All of my guests raved about the food, especially the bacon wrapped dates and the mac and cheese bar! In fact, people are still calling me to talk about how delicious the food was! I would definitely recommend him to other brides!

We honestly would not have had the wedding that we did without Ken and the staff at Diverse Catering. Ken was absoluetely committed to realizing OUR vision for the wedding, not maintaining the company's image. Ken drove out to our home to meet us, met use twice at the Reception site and provided an amazing menu tasting, complete with tableclothes, china and silverware. The day of the wedding he coordinated with all the other vendors, made sure every detail was just as we asked, and personally took care of of our needs as well as the needs of two disabled guests. His entire crew were professional, personable and really well informed. The food was also terrific! One eight year old guest was overheard telling her firiends, "The food is just fabulous." It truly was. Keb worked very hard with us to make sure we had quality for our money. We can not thank Ken and the staff at Diverse Catering enough and we would higly recommend them.

Wow, Mike Schmidt was AMAZING for my wedding. I orginally found him because one of the venues had strict caterer policy, but I am sure glad I came across him. I ended up not going with that venue but DID go with Diverse Catering.

My actual wedding day and the planing leading up to it was amazing. People are STILL telling me how much they enjoyed the food at the wedding. My friends asked him for his card at the wedidng because they loved the food so much. People were sooo surprised that he was able to have such wonderful, hot and tastey food on a buffet. I feel like the food at the wedding was EVEN better than the tasting and at the tasting we enjoyed it so much that we chose Mike! ALso, Mike's staff are extremely professional.

Mike is a planner as well as providing the food. He was able to assist me with finding a FABULOUS venue that was in our budget, he was able to be fleixble with our diets (we had a few vegans) he was able to meet us at the venue whenever we requested. Mike and DIVERSE catering was GREAT.

Ken at Diverse Catering was amazing to work with! Extremely flexible during the planning phase and very friendly! Definitely recommend working with him for special occasions.

Mike Schmidt helped my event run as smoothly as possible. He takes weddings seriously, and visited our venue to get things just right on four separate occasions. He volunteered to run the rehearsal, lined up my bridal party, and made sure that the reception events ran on schedule. YOU NEED A CATERER WHO MAKES YOU FEEL CALM! And, I knew he had everything under control. His staff is professional and timely. My room looked gorgeous and the cocktail hour, 4-cheese baked macoroni, and sauteed spinach was divine. I especially appreciate how Mike worked within our budget and catered to my every request (gum paste flowers on the cake last minute--CHECK). He is truly great.

Ken & the Diverse Crew catered our wedding at Bartram's Garden June 2016. I can't say enough good things about our experience. Ken helped us with details we didn't even think about. When we had requests that we thought were borderline unreasonable, Ken went further than what we requested to really accommodate all of our needs. The service on the day of our wedding was excellent, all of the staff was cheerful, helpful, attentive and graceful. The food was excellent. We expected decent wedding food (weddings are never about the food, right?) but we were absolutely impressed (especially our BBQ station with smoked chicken, coleslaw, mac & cheese and white rolls).

Thank you Ken & Crew for the flawless execution of our wedding!

WE used Diverse Catering for our wedding at Bartrams garden. If you are going to get married at this venue, then this is the caterer you want to use. Their knowledge of the venue and their great relationships with the venue staff is priceless. They also have incredible relationships with oceans party rentals, so that was also extremely valuable. Ken and Mike are really nice and worked with us to create the menu we wanted. We did go over budget, but I thinking that is really because of what my husband and I wanted, not because of the catering company. There were very open and honest in regards to what we needed for staffing and they were very transparent about what everything was costing. The food tasted GREAT! all of our guests commented on how good it was, they even said the coffee was good. It is always nervewracking, you go for these tastings and then you never know if the food is going to taste the same the day off, and it did!!! They were also very flexible and helpful with what we wanted and had some great ideas,especially in regards to the venue and how to best use the space.

The only thing that wasn't overwhelmingly positive was a few months out, they were not the most responsive with emails. I was planning my wedding out of state and that really made me nervous. My friend used them and reassured me that she had the same experience but leading up to the wedding, they were very responsive. This was also my experience. Once we got closer, my emails were answered within 1-2 days. So if you work with them and months out you don't hear back for awhile, just remember these guys are great, and they are busy, and they are giving someone else special attention on their wedding that is happening that weekend. They were there for us as we got closer, so don't worry.

Ken worked absolute magic at our wedding. Even creating a plan B due to the weather that was more spectacular than what we ever could have imagined.

While they talk a good game, Diverse Caterers fails to deliver. Their business practices are unscrupulous, they fail to return emails, phone calls and texts. It its often like herding cats trying to get a response from Ken. The food is good, if you can put up with the total lack of professionalism and disorganization.
