Food was great. Everyone who i spoke to throughout the planning process was amazing. Even with our many questions and sometimes months between contact everything was done with great professionalism. They had GF and Vegetarian options available to accommodate a few guests. Everyone loved the food (especially the meatballs). Definitely would recommend them. They even packed up the leftovers for us.

Experience Counts!
This was our second experience with Distinctive Catering, and they did not disappoint! We were very pleased with the catering services for our daughter’s wedding — food and service were both great!
I had great communication from Emily to plan all the details in advance and ensure we were on the same page. She was great in responding to my requests and showing flexibility to get us what we needed. To me, this pre-planning is key to a smooth day!
We had hors d’oeuvres, including the “Spectacular Charcuterie Display” and a plated dinner, and the beef, chicken, and vegetarian options we chose were all delicious! In fact, we chose the same beef and chicken entrees we had for another event 5 years ago, because they were that good!
I also appreciated the opportunity to lock in on pricing when I put down my deposit over a year in advance, protecting me from price increases and helping me manage my budget.
We had several guests comment on the friendliness of the serving staff — they did a great job!
I would highly recommend Distinctive Catering for similar events. Their experience in planning and executing is valuable and will lead to a smooth experience!

Distinctive Catering did not disappoint! Drinks came out quickly, pours seemed reasonable. Very accommodating group that did a great job with our specialty drinks (named after our cats). I would recommend them for anyone's wedding.

Amazing Experience for our Wedding Reception
I would highly recommend Distinctive Catering. The customer service was outstanding...all questions were answered quickly and thoroughly in the days leading up to the wedding. The day of the wedding was wonderful with the staff friendly and professional. We went with the buffet and the food was delicious and hot. In fact, we still get comments from those who attended saying it was the best food they have had at a wedding. The dessert bar was also very delicious. We have absolutely no complaints but instead the highest of praise for this company! We would absolutely use them again!

Great caterer for weddings
Distinctive Catering was amazing to work with. I emailed countless questions leading up to my wedding they catered and they always responded promptly and professionally. They were so easy to work with. DC also provided an extra table cloths even though we requested very close to our wedding date. Not only was the service great, the food was delicious. We went with the pasta/Italian buffet option and everything tasted great. I received multiple compliments from guests about how good the food was. Would definitely recommend Distinctive Catering for your event.

Wonderful Catering Company
We used Distinctive for bar service, cocktail hour, and dinner. Being able to taste the food prior to deciding to hire them was wonderful. It was well organized and made the decision easy. They were extremely responsive and answered any and all our questions. We did a buffet dinner, which was a good move. They brought out salads to each table, so that helped with tables being released to get food. All the food was hot and fresh. The brisket was amazing and we had zero left-over of it! The only issue we heard was about the bartender....not sure if he was just having a bad day or what, but guests didn't love him. He still did his job, but definitely acted like he did NOT want to be there. I would use Distinctive again for any event I would host.

Loved our Wedding Meal!!
Distinctive Catering catered our Welcome BBQ and our Wedding Reception. The food at both was AMAZING! Our guests couldn't stop raving about it. My 4-year old niece at four ears of corn bc they were so delicious. We also used their bartending service - perfection! Such a good value! Everyone was friendly and professional and barely needed anything from me (a real plus for a bride on her wedding day!). I would recommend them again and again!

Very professional, quick responses, and great food and service
You are always a little nervous about the food. You hear good and bad and take your chances. I can tell you we were so happy with the food that we choose for my daughter and son in laws wedding. Everyone seemed to love it. The only thing I would have done differently is not have a charcuterie display that was beautifully displayed and lots to choose from, however, we had a barn venue in August and the flies made it not such a good idea. Perhaps if we had gone with something covered, could have been a better choice. We went with grilled steaks and chicken and also had the brisket. With sides to go along with and a platted salad as well. Again, the food was wonderful. The service was great too. We also went with Distinct Catering for the bar and they were awesome and the bartenders were so much fun. Prior to our event, the service and professional was on par and were always quick to respond and help. The only issue we had was with the linen service and their supplier stopped supplying linens for cocktail tables suddenly. So a couple weeks before our event we had to scramble and find some for our cocktail tables, which turned out to be perfect anyways with the ones we found.

Great Caterer!!!
Distinctive Catering is awesome! I hired them as a vendor for my wedding. Exceptional service, hors d’oeuvres were outstanding (our guest couldn’t stop raving about them), and dinner was amazing! Only thing issue I had with the food was some (a couple pieces) chicken was dry and some pieces of beef was tough. Still VERY pleased with this vendor!

My husband and I used Distinctive Catering for our wedding on Oct. 7th. We had the fajitas and they were AMAZING! Our guests made frequent comments about how good the food was. Excellent food and service - would definitely hire again
We hired DC for our daughters wedding on 9/24/22 for a headcount of 180. Everything went smoothly - the set up, apps, clean-up were great. The quality of the chicken chardonnay was outstanding and so was the beef tips. We also offered prime rib on the buffet and that was good. Not quite as flavorful as we had hoped but it was very satisfying. There were 0 complaints about the food - only positive comments from the guests.
The only surprise at the end of the evening was that they took all of the leftovers with them. I guess we were supposed to sign a waiver but that was never mentioned to me and I did not know to ask about it.

We hired DC through our reception venue for our wedding on Sept 17th, 2022. The staff was incredible! They were professional, friendly, accommodating and truly helpful throughout the evening. The food was phenomenal - we had the pasta buffet and it was delicious! They even worked with us on switching the salad due to allergies when we initially selected our choices. Get the pretzels and queso
Distinctive catered our wedding on 8/13/22 in Holland and we would highly recommend them. They were amazingly flexible when we had to postpone our initial wedding/relocate due to the pandemic. They were responsive with any and all questions we had, and very reasonably priced for the high quality of food and service. Our guests raved about the greek pasta salad and the brisket (and there were Texans there who know their brisket…) Everyone working our event was kind, helpful, and professional. Our other vendors were also quite excited to hear that Distinctive was catering our event, they all mentioned having great experiences with Distinctive. One word of advice to those planning to use Distinctive Catering – get the pretzel and queso for an appetizer, you will NOT be disappointed.

The best staff and food/ drink

Had a great experience with DC! They catered our wedding and did a fabulous job! We could not be more thrilled with how smooth everything went. From the food tasting, to commutation between tasting and wedding, and then how well everything went on the special day. It was absolutely awesome.
Highly recommend the chicken pot pie. I know, not very “wedding food” type, but you will be amazed and your guest will not stop complementing it! Meatballs are also a must! For the amount of food and the quality of it, it is worth the price. Self serve so you can try everything as well and get as much as you want. We absolutely loved DC!

We had about 150 people at our wedding. The food tasted great, nice and warm. We chose the ultimate buffet: chicken Marsala, beef tenderloin with Bordelaise sauce, wild rice, duchess potatoes, and green beans. The green beans were a little over cooked in my opinion but maybe that’s how they cook them as softer. The chicken was only a little dry, but I would order it all over again if I could other than the green beans. Everyone was pleased with the food. The bar staff was so nice and attentive to my needs as the bride. Very friendly! The wait staff was amazing with clearing plates and the buffet in a timely fashion. As well as some rocking out to our last song of the night, Bohemian Rhapsody! Price reviewed is for 164 people bar and food, both the top packages.

Amazing food, setup, communication, etc!
We got bar and food catering for our wedding and we cannot express how happy we are with everything. We did the Italian buffet for dinner and we got so many compliments on how good the food was. We also served hors d'oeuvres which was set up beautifully and guests loved it. This was not your typical wedding food, it was so much better!! The bar service was fantastic and their bartenders were so friendly the entire night. The communication before the wedding was so easy and they were happy to answer all of my questions so quickly! I am so happy that we chose Distinctive Catering for our bar and food service as it helped make our wedding day absolutely perfect.

Distinctive Catering was so easy to work with for our big day even through multiple times of postponing our event due to the pandemic. Lindsey at Distinctive answered any questions we had quickly which made the entire planning process so much smoother.
The food that we had on the day of was great and we had multiple guests tell us they also thought the food was great. They went above and beyond!
I wish I knew exactly what the names of the individuals who worked our wedding were. They went above and beyond. We did a buffet style which didn't include them serving or picking up people's trash. They did both of those things for us without even being required to. We also had a downpour of rain and those people were out in the rain, soaking wet, getting more food and serving our guests. We had pulled brisket, rib tips, salad, mashed potatoes, fruit salad, Mac n cheese, and rolls with butter. Everything was delicious and our guests kept complimenting how good our food was. I highly recommend Distinctive for your catering needs!

Book with Distinctive Catering...you won't be disappointed.
The team at Distinctive Catering was so easy to work with. Trying to plan a wedding during a pandemic was nerve wracking to say the least. We were lucky it was during a time when things opened up a bit. Through all of it though Lindsay was a true professional . She answered all of our hundreds of questions in a very timely manner.
The staff who was at our wedding was so nice!! We had the pig roast and added roasted chicken. During the months since we keep getting messages from our guests saying it was the best food they've had at a wedding. We had the option of taking all the leftovers home or they will donate to a local homeless shelter. We asked if we could have half and donate half and they were very accommodating. At several points during the night they even asked us if they could get us anything; they really went above and beyond.

Distinctive Catering was such a great choice for our wedding! Originally we planned on having our reception at one of their venues, The Waddell Center, but with the Covid restrictions we had to move everything outside and Distinctive made all of that so simple! I truly appreciated how easy they made changing locations for us. We got to have all of the same foods/drinks we had already picked out and they built their own bar at our reception so we didn't have to worry about that. The food was SO good! Best Caterer in Michigan
Distinctive has a stellar reputation for being one of the best caterers in Michigan and we were not disappointed. Our wedding festivities was a weekend long affair with multiple events where Distinctive was leading the effort on all things related to food and beverage. We first had a boat party for close friends where we catered light food and beverages. They arrived promptly and set up the food quickly for our trip. While we came with empty stomachs, we had enough leftovers for late night food that day. On the wedding day itself, the bridal party had breakfast and lunch catered along with beverages. Distinctive then pulled out all stops for dinner. We had an international strolling buffet featuring cuisine from all over the world – American, BBQ, Italian, Polish and Indian. The food was outstanding – the menu was tastefully designed and the spread was elegant. We also had a unique ask where we wanted to design 5 custom-made cocktails. While we had sent the menu beforehand, Distinctive hosted a tasting session for a small group of family and friends so that we could tweak the recipes and ensure they turned out exactly the way we wanted. At the end of the wedding night, we had a late-night taco bar for all the hungry guests. Distinctive also went out of their way to ensure the table setting and décor was on point and was consistent with our unique wedding themes – Winter theme and Indian theme. The wedding day food and drinks were a hit with the guests, but there was more! The next morning, we had brunch in a beautiful outdoor setting for close family and friends that had a huge spread ranging from eggs, biscuits and gravy to smoked salmon and prime rib, along with a bloody mary bar. Overall, the food was fantastic – tasty, well-made, fresh and elegant. The staff at the various stations and the bar were extremely friendly and professional. In this time of Covid, we were a little anxious about the ensuring social distancing measures, but Distinctive had planned ahead to ensure that the food was well-spaced and set up for social-distancing purposes to prevent crowding across the buffet stations. Guests felt comfortable and safe and were able to enjoy the food. The food is one of the few things people remember from weddings and our guests have been raving about it for days after. Distinctive came highly recommended and now we know why!

Tip jars were requested not to be out so our guests didn't feel obligated to tip, and we would tip ourselves. They were out. Our guests didn't seem to care and this is a common practice in our area. By the time I realized it, I figured it didn't matter. We paid for glassware through dinner. Our venue required plastic after dinner. We were the first to be served dinner. The bartender came and asked us for our drink orders (so thoughtful and appreciated), but she gave us plastic. So really glassware was only though cocktail hour. Not a huge deal, but I assumed we would be served glassware until dinner was over and dancing started. All in all nothing major, great service, and I'd hire again.

Priceless memories!
We used Distinctive for our bar service for our wedding! They did a fantastic job! They were flexible with their options, and their drink packages can not be beat! People could not believe it was unlimited for the price we paid! The bartenders were awesome (did not catch their names) but anytime the groom and I went up they always made it a priority to serve us! So happy we picked them!

Distinctive Catering is absolutely fabulous. We used their Grandville Banquet Center for our daughter's wedding. They were great to work with ahead of time, and even allowed my daughter to taste-test the menu items. Setup was easy and they had the place looking great. The event itself went perfectly and my daughter commented that it was better than she ever dreamed it would be. We had many comments from guests about the great facility, food, service and provided-DJ - and I agree! Great team and value for the price
In the beginning planning stages, we chose Distinctive Catering for our wedding pretty much solely based on cost, availability, and good online reviews. We paid the deposit before attending a tasting, and crossed our fingers that it'd be the right fit. Lindsey, who helped us coordinate both the tasting and the day of, was beyond helpful. She answered every little question I had as a bride with no wedding experience, and was pleasant and honestly seemed happy to help the whole way through. At the tasting, we were admittedly a little nervous, because they didn't have much of anything we were in love with. But when it came down to the big day, Distinctive exceeded all of my expectations. The staff arrived and set up with perfect timing, made the buffet line look polished and professional, and even arranged our cupcakes on our stand for us as they'd noticed we hadn't had a chance to "make them pretty". The food was good, everything was the right temperature, and we got quite a few compliments on it all after dinner. Plates were cleared as soon as our guests were done eating, and the kitchen staff were quickly working behind the scenes to clean them as they were cleared. When it came time for cleanup, they left the place exactly as they found it, if not cleaner. Everyone from Distinctive, from the waitstaff to the kitchen staff, was really kind to us on our wedding day, and I would not hesitate to use them again if I were hosting another event!

The prices were extremely reasonable for a a great dinner menu and appetizer selection as well as a great bar package. The staff was helpful, friendly, and provided wonderful customer service. We received so many complements on the food as well as the open bar. We had a plated dinner and the timing was perfect - everyone was eating at almost the exact same time and the food was hot. We had my daughter's reception at the Waddell Center. Located very centrally for out of town guests, the menu we chose was the Mexican Buffet - which catered to several Gluten free and Vegan guests. The food was hot and they had 4 lines serving line flow quickly. The value was very affordable and the room was delightful. The service all night long was exceptional and friendly. The day of staff for both were professional, fast and also a lot of fun. From the head table, I barely had to speak up for a napkin before a staff member was right there for me. The lady running the show that day for us noticed we were leaving to go get pictures taken and she made sure we had cake waiting for us when we got back. The food was great and everything was served right on time. The leftovers were professionally packed and labeled for us. We used Distinctive Catering for Bar service for cocktail hour and reception. We selected a plan for beer, wine, and 2 signature cocktails (red and white sangria). The staff was so responsive and helpful during the planning process and helped us make selections and customize recipes easily by email. They matched a competitors plan in order to provide us with additional time for serving. On the day of, everything went off without a hitch, the sangria was served with fruit garnishes that looked and tasted amazing. The staff even walked around during dinner to provide the head table with drink refills and checked in with us frequently. We were so pleased with their services and would definitely recommend them!

I may be biased, but for us, our daughter’s wedding was nothing short of incredible. And I would love to take the credit for giving her the wedding of her dreams … but I can’t. She had a specific dream in mind and the staff at Distinctive Catering knew how to make that dream a reality. No detail was left undone, no question left unanswered, and no job was too big (or small). I tried so hard not to be the overbearing mother of the bride, and I may or may not have succeeded, but not once was I made to feel like a bother. Kim, Nicole and everyone else at Distinctive Catering helped set our minds at ease during the wedding planning process. On the day of the wedding, as we walked into the Waddell Center, we couldn’t believe our eyes. It took my breath away and my husband could only say … Wow! From that minute on, everything went off without a hitch. The bar was set up and staffed with amazing, professional, and friendly bartenders. It was a fairly large wedding and they handled the crowd flawlessly. The wait staff was no less friendly, professional, and proficient. The food was, simply put, impeccable. How “Chef Tom” and his crew were able to get the steaks/chicken grilled to perfection, plated, and served in such a short amount of time is mind-boggling! Four months later friends are still making comments on how good the food was. Thank you to everyone at Distinctive Catering for making our daughter and son-in-law’s dream wedding a reality. I would strongly recommend using Brann's Distinctive Catering. I had my wedding reception at their Waddell Center in downtown Grand Rapids. During my 11 month engagement I called and visited the reception hall many times, and each time the staff was very friendly and helpful. Every detail for my wedding was taken care of, and they even changed the menu to cater to my food allergies. Pricing is really great. For the buffet you get a lot of food for a really great price. The servers were very polite and the food was delicious. All of my guests (175) got through the buffet in 15-20 minutes. The bar tenders were also fabulous and went out of their way to check on guests at their tables to see if they needed more to drink. Absolutely wonderful. Could not be more happy with the service I received from Brann's Distinctive Catering.

Brann's was amazing to work with! They made the planning process a breeze. We worked with all three managers there and they were nothing but friendly and organized. We had a big bridal party and they were able to work with that and set up a new table arrangement that would work for us. They have a great buffet package that includes the bar as well. This turned out to be one of the most affordable places for us. The package also included tables, chairs and linens. Brann's allowed us to bring in chair covers and any extra decor we had, which I had a lot of little extra things. The day of our wedding was definitely stress free. The staff was there to help my aunt set all the little things up. They lit the candles on our centerpieces and did very well serving our guests with anything they might need. When we arrived, which was later than planned, the servers were right there to get our drinks. They kept checking in with us all night long, which was very reassuring things were going smoothly. The food was DELICIOUS! We loved it and so did our guests. They loved the fact that it didn't taste like regular "wedding food." It was more like thanksgiving food!
Overall, Brann's made our day very special and were very easy to work with. If you are looking for a stress free planning process, then book this venue!

We had Brann's Summer Picnic Menu for our wedding and it was amazing--they grilled the hot dogs, hamburgers, and brats on site and the hamburgers were some of the best I've ever had. Our guests loved it! We got the buffet with the full service level and Brann's did a fantastic job running dinner--they provided all of the table linens, set up place settings, set up a beautiful appetizer bar, released tables for the buffet, and bussed tables smoothly and efficiently. They took care of everything and left us free to enjoy the reception! They even packed the leftovers for us to take home at the end of the night.

Brann's did a wonderful job. The only little glitch was when we were setting up the afternoon before the wedding, we noticed we were not given the correct size of table cloths. We were so pleased with Brann's! They were always prompt when contacted regarding questions prior to the wedding, and the service and food were excellent at the reception! We continue to receive compliments on how delicious the food was from our guests. Everything seemed to flow nicely with all of the guests making it through the buffet lines and there was plenty of food for anyone who wanted seconds (or thirds!) I would definately recommend Brann's to everyone!

Brann's Catering catered my summer beach wedding on Lake Michigan on July 23rd 2011. The food was amazing. It was outstanding quality for a good price. I had a fajita buffet and taco bar that was self serve and the dinner portion went off without a hitch. The caterers were on time, the food was ready at the hour we requested and the staff was very polite and well dressed. One of the men caterering even gave me a little pep talk to calm my nerves about falling because I was standing where the food was before I began my walk down the aisle. The food was delicious, the staff was outstanding and the price was perfect. I would recommend this caterer to any bride that wanted a worry-free, amazing dinner with great presentation and great service.

Brann's was amazing. We went with a buffet style dinner and it went flawlessly, the food was hot and never ran out. Water and lemonade, as well as salad and rolls were provided for each table. The price was very reasonable, and I highly recommend this caterer to any bride looking for excellent food and service without breaking the bank!

Brann's was a great place to get the catering from. They were great and very flexible. They solved some of the issues we had about the food with ease and I was very happy. The food was delicious and the level of service was very professional. Thanks for everything!!

Brann's Catering was the best catering company for the price. Compared to the other vendors around the city of Grand Rapids, Branns' Catering was affordable, great food, and good location. The Conference center was just the right place for my wedding reception. The decor was very elegant and the just what I was looking for.

we got one of the low end options so it was in a buffet style however the food was amazing what was supposed to be hot was and what was supposed to be cold was, they kept bringing in food when it get low they did a very good job.

I was throughly impressed with the service that Brann's provided on my wedding day and with the meetings that were held previously. The food was amazing and the price was unbeatable. They catered their services to my parents farm where I had the reception. They made the tent look so elegant and the food service was fantastic. They made me feel totally at ease and I did not have to worry about a thing.

Our wedding dinner was fabulous. We had steak and chicken with a white wine sauce, salad, green beans almondine and crusty rolls. Something for everyone. Even my uncle, who eats like a bird, cleaned his plate! Can't recommend Brann's highly enough. We fed about 80 people for our price.

We actually couldn't attend the tastings as the groom & I lived out of town. Our parents attended in our place and every single one of them ranked Brann's as the best tasting and best service. We booked with Brann's and we were not disappointed at all! The price was good for plated meals and the meals were good sized. They were also flexible enough to let us pick up the linens ahead of time to decorate.

Great food!
We used Distinctive Catering for our wedding this past weekend. Everyone loved the food and the bar service was awesome! The only issue we had was the staff started throwing away our guests party favors away at the end of the night (which still had very expensive truffles in them). Other than that everything went great and staff were very helpful.

Highly satisfied newlyweds!
Distinctive Catering was very timely in their communication and very flexible throughout the process. We had many people with various allergies and DC was right on top of it all!! Their staff was VERY professional and shared in our joy of the day!
We did find that our table cloths came in stained and so a few of the table cloths we had to flip upside down when we were decorating. However, the manager was onsite the day of our wedding and informed us that he would quickly take care of this.
This is a fantastic bang for your buck and I highly recommend!!

Easy to work with and great prices. Guests loved the food, but definitely go to a tasting and pick your favorites. Bar tender Kristine was awesome!
