Fantastic Wedding Planner
Marcela was so professional, warm and welcoming from our first contact to the very end of the wedding. Our wedding was beautifully organised and stress free thanks to Marcela. Marcela was on top of every detail, no matter how small, and ensured all of our guests were looked after. Communication throughout the process was seamless and her experience showed when helping us decide on venues, decorations, schedules etc. She continuously went above and beyond and we will always be grateful to her for helping us have such a special day. -

Where to begin? Our wedding turned out to be a fairy tale come true thanks to Marcela Ban and her expert team. A portrait of poise, courtesy and such refined taste, Marcela is truly a master at making dreams come true. When we first imagined hosting a wedding overseas, our heads were filled with excitement and romantic visions of faraway locations. Warm turquoise waters, stunning lush coastline with a European flare. Our hearts were set on the magnificent Dalmatian coast of Croatia. But where to begin?
We were quickly inundated and intimidated with the daunting task ahead, all the moving parts of trying to organize an event for friends and family in a foreign country where we had not been before, did not speak the language, many time zones off our daily schedule. The cons quickly piled up against us and we became disheartened. Not to mention doubts from all corners that we could pull this off in time the way that we’d envisioned it.
We dreamt of a grand villa for all our family to stay at together that would serve as a homebase for a week of fun-filled activities. Of exciting daily excursions to explore the exotic seascapes, relaxing boat trips to sunbaked islands, exhilarating beach clubs and cove-side cafes, stirring ancient ruins. We wanted it all. And for a price that we could afford.
Enter Marcela Ban. We had interviewed several wedding coordinators who knew the region well and had put together many events there. Thanks to my wife’s uncanny intuition, we decided to work with Marcela. What a stroke of good fortune! Simply put, she is an artist. There is nothing beyond her grasp, her tireless work ethic is in infectious. And her vivid imagination knows no bounds. As high-maintenance Americans, we are admittedly demanding and expect the very best from people, the work they perform and an utmost measure of commitment. Marcel does not disappoint.
There was not the tiniest iota that she had not thought of and seen to with ease and passion. Her meticulous attention to detail and ability to seamlessly juggle so many endeavors, vendors, locations, rentals, etc. is almost super-human. And we came to trust her and her instincts implicitly.
First, she suggested a stunning estate, Villa Bruna that turned out to be the oasis of our dreams. A private hideaway a mere short walk from Old Town Dubrovnik, it’s powdery beaches and intimate rocky grottoes and lively cafes. The villa was awash with vibrant color from the lush gardens, a vast glimmering pool and many comfortable bedrooms, so deftly divided to either side of the house with their own bathrooms and staircases so both sides of our family could enjoy their own space to themselves. And right next door to a quaint café that baked us fresh croissants each morning!
Marcela organized a day out at sea aboard our own vintage vessel to explore the surrounding Elafiti islands that was simply enchanting. The rugged coastline with all it’s hidden bays and sparkling channels amazed us all, stopping for hours at a time to stroll the quiet islands and explore the pristine beaches together at our own pace. Similarly, our rehearsal dinner was a dining extravaganza right at the port at a cobblestone plaza overlooking the bay with a doting staff who catered to our every whim.
Our wedding was beyond our wildest expectations. We were married in a 16th century Renaissance palace right in the heart of Old Town Dubrovnik. The setting was straight out of a Vanity Fair shoot with it’s ornate floral arrangements, elegant furniture, rich drapes and runners and wide open canopy that filled the ancient space with sunlight and cool breezes.
While my wife and I took photos and captured footage with a friendly stills and video team whose work seems right out of a Cannes-quality commercial shoot, Marcela had arranged the guests to enjoy another cruise around the harbor to take in the sights over glasses of Prosecco.
A fleet of shiny new black Mercedes sedans and mini-buses awaited us at the Old Town’s gate and swept us up into the hills to yet another dazzling villa, impeccably decorated for our reception and catered dining. The scene was straight out of a Fellini film where a friendly staff poured cocktails and our party took in the sprawling gardens and a view of the glimmering Adriatic below that left everyone speechless. We dined together at a long table with garlands and candlelit votives and enjoyed a multi-course dining experience with wines and sparkling champagnes from an award-winning chef whose dishes were simply exquisite, picturesque masterpieces, some of the finest cuisine we’d ever tasted. The DJ played our favorites and our friends and family danced the night away on the stony plaza in between laughter and heartfelt moments together on the towering promontory and it’s hypnotizing vistas of the crystal blue Mediterranean and ancient terracotta skyline.
As avid travelers, we have been fortunate enough to see much of the world and it’s hidden beauty. And while we expect much from our carefully planned trips, we’ve learned valuable lessons over the years. That it is the unexpected that truly inspires us. That meeting friendly special people along the way who share their vision and lifestyle with us is the true currency of making your dreams come true. We placed our trust in Marcela and it’s been a reward that we will cherish for the rest of our days. No matter what the occasion or where in the world you decide to pursue, having Marcel at the helm will make timeless memories what will last a lifetime.

Marcela helped organize our dream wedding! We had a 4 day luxury wedding with about 75 guests, and the sheer amount of organization and attention to detail was superb! We had never been to Croatia before, (we wanted our wedding to be a fun and new adventure!) and so I trusted and relied on her advice and recommendations on everything from venues, menu choices, decorations, and details like transportation and accommodations. Every recommendation she made exceeded our expectations. The entire wedding weekend from start to finish was absolutely magical! The first night we sailed into the sunset on the famous Karaka boat with a live Klappa band singing lovely acoustic croatian music. The tables and venue was beautifully decorated with gifts for each guest, the entire evening was magical! The following day we had private 5 course lunch and wine tasting in the Peljesac Pennisula, followed by a candle lit rehearsal dinner at Nautika Restaurant. The transportation to and from each events involved cars, buses, and even speedboats, but everything was smooth and seamless! Communication and organization was excellent! Nobody was ever lost or confused about where they should go or where they should be. Our guests did not have to lift a finger or stress about anything the entire weekend!
Our wedding day ran so smoothly. We had a very large bridal party of 8 bridesmaids and 8 groomsmen, and the communication and organization was top notch. The bridesmaids had no problems getting hair and makeup done, the groomsmen had beer and snacks in the old town before everyone arrived. The string quartet was already set up and playing when the guests arrived, the decorations were perfectly in place with candles lit--it was breathtaking!! The organization and coordination of everything from transportation, decorations, arranging the first look and pre and post photos with the photographers and videographers was seamless, the entire ceremony flowed and was stress free for us! It was magical! Our guests were treated like celebrities as they were transported from Old Town of Dubrovnik to the reception by professional drivers in black suits in luxury vehicles.
The reception was held at Copacabana Beach Club and we were blown away by the decorations and how much details were taken care of for us. Fresh floral arrangements adorned every table, there were hundreds of fairy lights and candles; it was breathtaking. The weather was perfect, it was 72 degrees with a gentle breeze right off the sea, and our guests were in awe the whole evening. Marcela worked with the head chef and owner to custom design served a 5 course dinner with wine pairings for each dish. During the cake cutting we surprised our guests with fireworks! All the city permits and paperwork were taken care of for us. The fireworks were breathtaking! The dJ, music and lighting was wonderful and everyone had a great time! There were drivers to take guests home on standby after dinner so nobody had to wait or lift a finger trying to decide how to get home.
The next morning we ended with a farewell brunch. The food and setting was beautiful, it was a lovely way to end the celebration weekend.
Overall, I cannot put into words how amazing our wedding was. The amount of coordination, organization, and attention to detail really surpassed all of our expectations. Marcela and her team were by our side the entire weekend. None of our guests had to stress or worry about where they were supposed to be or how they were going to get to each event. Everyone was able to relax and just have a good time. The venue and decorations were breathtaking; it truly was magic from start to finish. If you are looking to have a luxury wedding where every single detail is taken care of you, then hire Marcela and her family, they will take care of you and give you the wedding of your dreams.

When reviewing Marcela’s work as our wedding planner, it goes without saying that she did a fantastic job. In fact, you could insert almost every superlative in the English and Croatian dictionary to describe the incredible job she did making our wedding day feel so special. Coordinating a wedding from nearly 6,000 miles away can definitely have a number of challenges but Marcela made herself available whenever we asked and delivered on a wide range of requests, including dealing with several last minute changes. She did it all with flawless execution which was one of the many reasons we look back on our wedding day with such joy.
Outside of making our dreams come true with fantastic recommendations for a wedding reception venue and multiple dinner locations, her ability to deliver a picturesque decorative setting for both the ceremony and reception was unbelievable. The Instagram worthy decorations were truly remarkable and definitely exceeded even our wildest expectations. Her relationships with multiple vendors, including the amazing photographers and marvelous DJ, helped make the entire time a once in a lifetime experience for our guests and us.
We would confidently recommend Marcela’s services to anyone who wants to have a truly memorable and special wedding. You won’t regret it. -

Happiest day of our lives, thanks to Marcela (D'Inspiration)
From the moment, Marcela at D'Inspiration responded to our initial enquiry email we knew she was the right person to plan our dream wedding. We had never planned anything like this before, never mind abroad, but she made the whole process really simple & stress-free so ultimately we could fully take in the day and share the occasion with our friends & family.
She has a great network of vendors that she recommends as well as letting you know all the local insight to share with your guests to ensure they are all catered for.
On our first meeting she introduced us to photographers, Dean & Boris at Foto Adria & videographer, Miso from Unique Films. After meeting, we had no hesitation that we wanted them to record our wedding memories and the quality of the pictures/ videos we received back were exceptional.
We communicated regularly via email/ skype and made a couple of trips out to Dubrovnik (1. to choose the venues & 2. Food/ wine tasting plus hair/ make-up trials).
Throughout she kept a step by step file that we can put our visions in, as well as on Pinterest, and she would also share her experiences/ ideas with us to consider. This also came with a costs file so we had an idea of what we could have within our budget.
She was hands-on during the whole day to make sure everything ran smoothly (which it did!) and it gave us chance to take in the whole breath-taking experience. We both had an unforgettable day.
The whole wedding party was astonished at the lengths Marcela had gone to, to put our ideas into reality, and at such a reasonable cost for us.
We will be forever grateful to Marcela and her incredible family team at D’Inspiration for creating the happiest day of our lives.

Katelyn Sent on 10/11/2018D’Inspiration truly made our dream wedding come true.
During our first visit to Dubrovnik Marcela provided us accommodation in the area of Lapad which was great! We got to meet her family who are part of her team, everything was so personal.
She arranged for me to have a hair and makeup trial, followed by wedding tasting session at our venue. This experience got us so excited for our big day.
She was on hand to give us advice about what to do and where to go during our whole stay.
In the run up to our wedding Marcela was available to Skype us whenever we needed her, she gave us advice about which vendors to select and discussed our vision for the day.
Even though our wedding was abroad, I still wanted to be hands on with some little touches, that wasn’t a problem to Marcela, and she incorporated the details I made into her creation.
She really made the planning process enjoyable, we don’t know what to do with ourselves now!
Not only did she help plan our wedding day, she was available to book anything we needed during the week – including our hen/stag doo and after wedding party!
Our wedding day was just breathtaking, it brings tears to my eyes thinking about it! Marcela brought my Pinterest board to life!
She was on hand from the start of the day, making sure everyone was in the right place at the right time; making sure all of the boys had their button holes on properly! We had nothing to think of, nothing to worry about.
My bouquet was just beautiful, she really captured my vision, it was perfect.
We had the most magical day, and it would not have been possible without Marcela and her team.
Marcela isn’t just a wedding planner, she becomes a friend.
