Beautiful Ceremony and Sincere Delivery
Didier did such a great job with our ceremony. Ours was somewhat of a last minute affair without a lot of time to plan. Didier was responsive when we first reached out and continued to be so throughout the process. He worked with us to develop a ceremony that was meaningful and lovely. We were concerned that because we didn't know him, it would come off as contrived and rehearsed but Didier is a natural and seems to legitimately care about what he's doing. He was a gentle presence who seemed to want the best for us. I believe Didier believes deeply in the bond of marriage. Our ceremony was very special and Didier was a huge part of that. We would highly recommend his service.

From the moment we spoke with Didier about the possibility of officiating for us, I knew we were going to ask him to officiate. He is very warm and engaging, and so easy to talk to. A Wedding That We Will Never Forget
My fiancé and I decided to have a wedding in the San Juan Islands in October, 2023. While searching for an officiant and venue, we came across Didier’s website. We liked his approach to creating a memorable wedding so we contacted him. Didier was responsive and intuitive, and crafted a personalized ceremony for us that articulated in things that we felt in our hearts. He also helped us to find the perfect photographer (Robert) to document our special day. On the day of our ceremony, the weather was less than optimal, but with a quick change of plans, we had a wedding that we will never forget. Our ceremony was both meaningful and fun, and we would love to do it all over again. We wouldn’t change a thing! We will always treasure our memories of our wedding on Orcas Island, and cannot recommend Didier’s services enough.

Having Didier as our day of coordinator was one of the best wedding planning decisions we made. Everyone who knows Didier speaks highly of him and love working with him, and we did too! Not only was he extremely organized and kept our timeline in check, he also has invaluable insight, since he has a ton of experience. Washington Park wedding !!
We wanted a small personal wedding on a bluff above the water in Anacortes’ Washington Park and Dedier came through for us by coming to Anacortes (on his e-bike) and made the day very special. Beautiful Elopement Ceremony
We eloped this past December (2022) and made the wonderful decision to hire Didier Gincig as our officiant. From our first conversation, it was clear that Didier took time and care to really understand us as a couple and what we wanted for our ceremony. He offered guidance which put us at ease and reassured us each step of the way. He was easy to communicate with, over the phone and through email. We planned an outdoor ceremony, rain or shine, and despite a winter storm hitting the day before, Didier was game for the mile hike in the snow! His adaptability and willingness to accommodate our wishes made our wedding perfect. Two weddings!
We were planning to marry at Orcas Island in September with Didier, but decided to marry in June through our county clerk’s office. We contacted Didier and told him about the change, but asked if he would still perform an unofficial ceremony, which he did. The ceremony Didier performed was beyond magical. His words and demeanor were so touching and meaningful. We feel so fortunate that he still performed our ceremony. Now as we look at our photographs we think of the beauty of the island, the emotion of the occasion, and Didier who made it all work. I would marry my wife over and over every day if I could, and at all of those ceremonies Didier would be present as our officiant.

The Perfect Officiant
Didier is kind, respectful and lots of fun. We couldn't have asked for anyone better to perform our ceremony and we're so glad that we found him from all the way across the pond. We were also very lucky to get to spend some time with Didier and his wife. They were both very warm and welcoming and made Orcas Island feel like home. Didier's wonderful friends volunteered to be our witnesses and the ceremony was all the more special for it. A dream come true!
My husband and I eloped this past weekend and were grateful to have Didier as our officiant. Cannot speak highly enough about him or the ceremony he provided. We reached out to him very last minute and Didier responded right away and was unbelievably flexible in making himself available for our day. Since we are not from the area, he was also extremely helpful in providing the best location suggestions. We went with the garden at the Outlook in and WOW it was everything I could have hoped for and then some. I also have to give a huge shoutout to his incredible wife for attending the ceremony as our witness (and ring bearer, flower holder, hairstylist, etc). You both made our day SO special, put us at ease, and walked us through every step with grace, enthusiasm, and expertise. THE best officiant!
We couldn’t have asked for a better officiant for our ceremony. Didier was very attentive and caring from the very beginning and made the whole process and planning a lot smoother as we encountered some hiccups. Despite some unexpected weather and travel delays, Didier made it a priority to make it to our ceremony and to support us on our special day! He was humble, gracious, has a great sense of humor, and is incredibly thoughtful. He knows everyone on the island and even helps coordinate for a VERY reasonable price. The effort that Didier put into writing our ceremony was so obvious! It was beautiful and heartfelt! He felt like an old friend who we were able just to pick up where we left off despite the time in between our last meeting! Which is quite extraordinary considering our schedules made it so that our first in person meeting with Didier was on our wedding/elopement day! My husband was deployed two months prior to our elopement and and we were hours away from Didier and so our conversations were limited to mostly emails and one phone conversation where all three of us were able to introduce ourselves!

Absolutely PERFECT experience!!
My husband and I honestly could not have asked for a better elopement experience! We highly recommend Didier for any ceremony! He was extremely communicative and timely and took the time to really personalize our ceremony. Even though we just recently met him it felt like we had known him for years. Wonderful Wedding on Orcas
Didier was an incredible officiant and day of coordinator. The vows he wrote were so moving and special. He was great with coordination too. We had a mix up with one of the vendors on flowers, and he handled everything perfectly. My husband tore his ACL 3 weeks before our wedding, and Didier provided a wheelchair and made sure he could get around safely. I feel so lucky that we had Didier for our wedding, and I would gladly recommend him to anyone getting married on Orcas.

Nothing short of spectacular: don't think twice, have Didier officiate your wedding.
Wow. There's not enough words to describe how crucial Didier was to our special day. He worked with us for months prior to really get to know us, both individually and as a couple. Everything important that he learned about us he managed to weave into our ceremony, which was poetic and lovely (definitely made the moms tear up!) He was responsive, kind, and flexible all the way through. He made our ceremony work on a tight schedule and was an absolute joy to work with. He even rowed over from Orcas island to Shaw for our ceremony!!
If you want an amazing officiant who makes the process both easy and meaningful, pick Didier.

Didier was truly amazing. In the months prior to the wedding, he was generous with his time, spending hours with us on the phone to plan the perfect words and flow for our ceremony. He proposed ideas, but was always focused on making sure that the ceremony was exactly how we wanted it. During the ceremony, he was outstanding. He has a gentle, but confident tone of voice and our guests commented that he make a concerted effort to make eye contact with every guest, which made everyone feel special and included. Didier is the best and made our wedding day everything we hoped for. He comes very highly recommended.

The perfect Officiant for our small wedding!
After having to delay our original wedding date due to Covid, my now Wife and I decided to have an intimate ceremony with our immediate family only. Could Not Have Asked for a Better Fit for Our Elopement!
We could not have asked for a more perfect officiant to perform our elopement ceremony! Didier was professional and timely, even with a 3-hour time zone difference! He took the time to really get to know both of us so that he could create a ceremony that neither of us would ever forget! He was extremely knowledgeable and caring and made the entire process seem like a piece of cake! Charismatic Officiant!
I cannot recommend Didier Gincig highly enough. We changed our wedding plans to just two witnesses and a photographer 6 weeks prior to our wedding and our DJ recommended Didier. How lucky were we! He is an amazing thoughtful person whose extreme compassion and calming presence were so helpful throughout the planning and execution of our ceremony. We had to plan our wedding remotely and he helped us through a phone call and emails express our backgrounds and goals. He provided a great ceremony draft to review and adjust, then added some great personal touches prior to the wedding based on our discussions. He is a true wordsmith and insightfully ad libbed a few details based on what we said prior to the wedding. With our wedding being live streamed during COVID19 so our family and friends could share in the occasion really helped our family notice the nice touches, like my bride wearing my grandmothers pearls. Didier is a tremendous person who would add greatly to any wedding. I feel he has the tremendous emotional intelligence to make any ceremony special, whether in person or remote. He was extremely easygoing with our wedding videographer and photographer and perfectly articulate.

AMAZING! Highly Recommend.
Our wedding plans changed last minute due to Covid from a big wedding to an elopement. We reached out to Didier (he was HIGHLY recommended by EVERYONE we talked to) He was quick to respond, and made the process as seamless as possible. We had multiple calls leading up to the wedding, he got to know us and our style and you could tell he put a lot of time into creating our ceremony. Extremely genuine and loves what he does. Intimate Elopement at Friday Harbor
Like many couples hoping to marry in 2020, we found ourselves doing some last minute adjusting due to Covid. When we started looking at eloping to Friday Harbor, everyone suggest Didier and we are so glad they did!

Didier was fantastic! My fiance (now husband) and I reached out with very short notice, as we were trying to get married on the date of our original wedding (which was postponed due to COVID). Didier was very communicative and responsive. Wedding Change of Plans
What a week my fiancé and I had, we found out that due to the circumstances of the world right now (March 2020), we had to cancel our wedding in Costa Rica only 3 days out! We decided that we would elope and have an intimate ceremony on Orcas Island, our favorite spot in Washington, if we could. We contacted Didier 3 days before we wanted to get married on Orcas to find out if he was available and would be able to accommodate a small/short ceremony in such a short time. From the onset, he heard our story, and worked with his schedule to ensure he was available and really understood our story so that he could create a special ceremony for us. He even met us in person (while remaining 6ft apart :) ) on orcas the day before the wedding for an hour to talk with us about our love for eachother, and what we wanted out of the ceremony. The ceremony was perfect, and Didier managed to create something that was tailored to us after only knowing us for less than a few hours. We absolutely recommend him to anyone looking to get married on Orcas! He is genuine, kind, and makes the entire situation as fun and comfortable as possible. We are so grateful we were able to work with him!

"I do" choose him
This man went out of his way, above and beyond anybody we know. He rose to the occasion, overcoming obstacles to help us with our wedding. We had last minute wedding plans from Los Angeles. We had no idea who to call and we found him via the web. We called him up and he answered the phone late in the evening. He was gracious and listened to our plans. We had to rush our marriage license to San Juan and he told us not to worry. That he would have someone pick up our license and get it to us to Orcas Island. The day
it self was surreal and amazing. The ceremony was gracious and attended to all our needs and requests. He was polite, courteous and understanding and gave us complete unconditional love. We cannot recommend him enough. We had a very small wedding with about 12 people. We had compliments afterwards, saying that if they were to marry they would do it exactly the same way. We loved his interpretation of our wedding vows. He honored all aspects of our special day. We could not be more grateful for Didier and his ability to create magic for us. The Perfect Officiant For Us
Didier officiated our wedding at Roche Harbor on June 8th, 2019. He is a very kind, genuine and easy going person and was the perfect officiant for our wedding. We had him come to our rehearsal the day before the wedding and even though I offered to put him in a hotel because the ferries were no longer running to Orcas for the day he hitched a ride with someone back to save me the money on a room. He was right back at Roche the next day with the same smile on his face, he truly enjoys what he does. From beginning to end he always put our wishes first, in fact we probably sent ceremony speech revisions back and forth about 10 times and it never phased him at all, he was happy to do it. Throughout the whole process he was probably the most responsive vendor we had, never going more than a few hours at most to respond to emails and phone calls. From the moment we spoke to him on the phone we knew he was our guy. Now that the wedding is over we consider him to be more of a friend than a vendor.

Professional and Caring Man
My fiancé and I were planning a little vacation to the San Juan's and then later as the date got closer for our trip we decided we wanted to do an impromptu elopement type wedding during our stay.
Anyway we quickly did some research and came across Mr. Didier Gincig. We started corresponding and things started to fall into place. We made arrangements to meet with him on a Friday and by Sunday we were married. And it couldn't have turned out better. He listened to our wishes, got to know us a bit and gave him license to put together a beautiful ceremony. Since it was only my wife and I we also needed two witnesses which he provided (his wife & daughter). Didier is a very humble man and cares about his craft. I would strongly recommend him to anyone who is looking for a true professional.

Professional and spot-on Wedding Officiant
Having Didier Gincig officiate our wedding was a great decision! He came recommended by our venue (The Friday Harbor House on San Juan Island) and they were right. Didier does an excellent job! He was responsive and took the time to get to know us. He walked us through every detail of our ceremony in advance. The day of he arrived early so we could connect, and in the end it felt like a cherished friend was officiating, not someone we met only months prior. We both loved his wisdom and insights about marriage, and the personal touches he added to the ceremony about our love story and lives. We could not have been happier! And, I should also add, he recommended our photographer who we also really enjoyed working with. Our day really came together, and was everything we had hoped for. We are thankful to Didier for his help in making our day special!

Didier was the perfect fit for our elopement. He was genial, was very communicative and really crafted a ceremony that was specific to us. He's a great, honest, genuine human being, with a big heart and a real dedication to what he does. My wife and I really felt the whole process was bespoke, and not once did we ever think we were getting anything other than Didier's complete focus. Thanks Didier! We could not have picked a better Officiant!
My husband and I are loners and a little shy by nature, which is one of the biggest reasons why we wanted to elope. Didier was the perfect Officiant for our wedding and we are so happy we picked him! He is a very funny, and personable guy and he helped to make our wedding day perfect! He is very understanding and in-tune with how we wanted to put together our ceremony. We both appreciated Didier's calm and warm personality and he completely understood that our wedding day nerves stemmed from excitement, not doubt about what we were doing. We loved every minute and were so happy with how our ceremony was put together and how flexible he was with us up to and including our wedding day. The first time I spoke with him during our planning phase, I knew that he was the person I was looking for. Didier is truly passionate about what he does and he honestly cares about making your wedding day special and memorable (memorable in a good way!). We would recommend him to anyone!

My husband and I could not be happier with our decision to have Didier officiate our wedding ceremony. Beforehand, Didier spent time getting to know us and what makes our relationship special to customize the ceremony. He worked hard to create a beautiful, memorable and meaningful ceremony that resonated with us. Didier is particularly skilled in creating a sacred space for us, the couple, and all of our guests to genuinely feel the love present. All of our guests raved to us after ceremony, many saying it was the best they have ever witnessed. Didier is an exceptional officiant and we cannot recommend him highly enough.

Didier is a breath of fresh air and a fantastic human being. He curated an amazing summer elopement ceremony for my husband and I. We were so happy with the process from beginning to end. We both wanted something simple, yet memorable and we could not be any happier with the result. He was so kind, flexible, and very knowledgeable about his magical home in Eastsound. Our experience with Didier was exceptional! We decided to marry on the 4th of July on Orcas Island and were so luck to find Didier who worked with us long distance to create the wedding and ceremony. We searched high and low for an officiant that would meet our needs. We wanted a certain amount of gravitas, but also humor, as part of our ceremony and Didier delivered. From our first Skype meeting to our in person meeting on Orcas Island finalizing our details over breakfast, to our last phone call before the wedding day, we felt accommodated, heard and like we were in great hands. Didier was able to write us a wonderful ceremony for us after talking to us and having us write up what we love about each other. My husband and I then reviewed it and edited particulars to our liking and then Didier delivered the best ceremony we could have asked for. We planned Avery simple, quiet, and private ceremony. Didier was our officiant and was so warm and calming in his words and actions. He brought his wealth of experience, but also allowed for us to share our own input and made it all feel really authentic to our relationship and our ceremony. One thing we loved was how seamlessly he merged the time before our ceremony, to our ceremony, to our celebration after. It all felt unforced and graceful. Didier brought both a sacred quality to our union as well as humor and deep insight. He also made our guests feel part of the ceremony. It was all just magical!

This review is long overdue and even though my wife provided her review already, I wanted to add my appreciation for Didier and the ceremony that we all shared together over a year ago.
My now wife and I decided to elope after going back and forth with wedding ideas. To make a long story short, we made the decision to elope on Orcas Island and after a bit of research found Didier.
Our contact with Didier was meaningful and authentic from the first phone conversation all the way through the ceremony and even beyond that! Didier was very easy to build a real connection with and we found his true interest in getting to know us on a deeper level days prior to our ceremony to mean a lot to us both. We appreciated the process, the conversations along the way and especially the guidance he provided for some last minute adjustments due to weather.
We consider ourselves very fortunate to have spent a special week on Orcas Island enjoying the Island as well the company of Didier, as well as the people he introduced us to along the way. We wouldn't change a thing about ceremony and even the last minute change of plans created a special magical moment that will last a lifetime.
We would highly recommend Didier for anyone searching for a Wedding Officiant on Orcas Island!!

Didier was like a member of the family he was amazing so personable and very flexible. My husband and I planned our wedding from across the country and when we arrived on Orcas Island we met up with Didier and had a great talk and finalized details. Didier made our wedding planning and execution very easy and stress-free. Our goal was to make it fun for us and our guests. We wanted simple and non-traditional. Didier was ready, willing and able to jump in and work with us to create the exact type of experience we wanted - he even wrote (and performed) limericks, raps and various other fun accompaniments that made our joining of two lives memorable and in keeping with our personalities. He went above and beyond for us. We met Didier in Anacortes (the first time) as he was coming onto the mainland for some business and we were headed out to Orcas to scope out sites for our ceremony. Immediately, we were both drawn to him. He has a calm, confident, gentleness about him. We collaborated with him on how long we wanted the ceremony to be and the feel we wanted and he nailed it. He gave us some ideas on sites to scope, things to do and places to eat while we'd be on the island. Then the day of the ceremony, he and his wife (a witness) came with a bouquet of flowers from their garden so that I would have some flowers to hold. His wife even volunteered to take a video of the ceremony with one of our phones. We truly wanted something for us to remember and no pomp and circumstance that often surrounds a wedding and this was exactly that. Thank you, Didier! We'll be back to visit soon!

“When my fiancé and I decided to go away for a private destination wedding, we chose the Rosario Resort on Orcas Island. The resort’s wedding coordinator sent a list of several officiants on the island and we immediately called each on the list in search of the one we felt was the best fit for us. After several conversations with each of our options, we chose Didier and were very happy with the service he performed on our wedding day. I was most impressed with his desire to make the ceremony what we wanted and his sensitivity to our preferences. I would recommend him to any couple looking for an officiant at their Orcas Island wedding, or wherever you may be getting married.
