Best Wedding Florist

As someone who could barely articulate what I wanted in flowers and knew the names of absolutely nothing, Dara brought my exact vision to life! The flowers for our wedding were perfect and my favorite that I've seen in any previous pictures or any other wedding I've been to because she is so good at what she does. She is reasonably priced and doesn't push anything extra just to add onto the cost. She is so kind and easy to work with and I can't recommend her enough!

Amazing!

Dara is amazing. She brought my floral vision to life!!! My flowers were everything I wanted and more and it’s because she is so amazing. She is responsive, super helpful during planning and really put me at ease throughout the process. She is fantastic and I highly recommend her!! I couldn’t have asked for a better florist.

Absolutely amazing!

Dara was so easy to work with, and so patient and kind. When she was unable to find live gardenias for my bouquet, she tracked down the best silk ones because she knew they were my late grandmother’s favorite and it meant so much they were included. Very reasonable prices and since she only does event florals (not retail), she had no problem accommodating my Mother’s Day wedding. She saved the day in multiple ways!

Great experience

Dara was fantastic to work with! She was very knowledgeable and provided excellent guidance during the planning portion.

On the day of, we were so happy with everything! It was especially hot on my wedding day, so she came with enough water and mason jars to keep the bouquets fresh all day! The centerpieces were exactly as I had imagined as well.

STUNNING FLORALS! Dara was a dream to work with!!! She was so kind and patient with me as I obsessively reached out to her about my ideas / vision. And oh my god did she DELIVER! You could tell that she really put her entire heart into our florals and they were just beyond stunning. I'm tearing up just writing this thinking about how much work she put in and just how beautiful they turned out. We had a vision for our chuppah and she went above and beyond to make it happen. It was such a magical experience to stand under something so gorgeous while we said our vows. I cannot thank her enough for making our wedding so incredibly stunning.

Dara is a seasoned pro. She knows what she's doing. I know when I was initially planning the wedding I got swept away but different florists and their social media pages. I strongly recommend not letting those be the only factor when you book your florist. Dara's florals are STUNNING, she is so professional and kind, and she truly goes above and beyond for her clients.

Dara, thank you so much for making our wedding just that much more special. We so greatly appreciate all the hard work and hours you put in for us. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

I highly recommend using Designs by Dara for your wedding flowers. She does incredible work and her flower centerpieces and bouquets are gorgeous! She was so pleasant and easy to work with! My flowers on my wedding day were perfect and I cannot thank her enough!

She was timely in dropping off our flowers to multiple locations throughout the day and she created gorgeous bouquets and boutonnières as well as decor for our ceremony and reception at The Mill in Spring Lake.
I do not have one negative thing to say about Dara. I couldn't be happier with our choice! Thank you for helping to give us the best day of our lives!

Beautiful Florals

I couldn't recommend Dara enough. She did an amazing job with the florals for our wedding. The bouquets and decor around the venue and in the ceremony space were absolutely beautiful and what I had imagined. She was so accommodating, communicative, and responsive throughout the entire process. She was so sweet when she dropped off the flowers the morning of. I couldn't recommend her more!

She was very organized and picked such a beautiful selections for both my bouquet and the bridesmaids bouquets. When I arrived to the venue, the bouquets and flowers were already there ready to go. It was such a relief!

Talented floral artist

Dara made the most beautiful floral arrangements for our big day! She's not just a florist, she is truly an artist. She really listened to what my vision was for the day and she really came through, even though I had a pretty specific idea of my color palette. We would recommend Dara to anyone, and her price were very reasonable!

Perfect bouquets, centerpieces, and aisle decor

I worked with Dara for my wedding on 8/10/19 at The Oyster Point Hotel. Everything came out PERFECT! Throughout the whole process Dara was a pleasure to work with. She was able to stay within our budget while making sure we had what we wanted, she returned my calls/emails immediately, and got everything set up for the wedding with plenty of time.
We used her services for our bouquets, centerpieces, ceremony decor, boutonnieres, and corsages - they all turned out beautiful. I would highly recommend Dara to anyone looking for a florist.

Staceys Bridal Luncheon

Breathtaking arrangements that wowed everyone when they walked in the unique venue which was a greenhouse so it was a challenge to create more beauty on top of the organic beauty already provided by the venue but Designs by Dara did that with amazing success and added other wonderful touches. The venue owner texted me for her information the next day! A real pro and I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the floral crown wreath she created for the guest of honor, stunning and was the cherry on top!

Wonderful experience!

From the moment my husband and I met with Dara, we knew she was the perfect florist for our November wedding. She was personable and listened carefully to what we liked. When she gave us her suggestions for bouquets, we felt like she really understood what we were looking for. What sealed the deal for me was the fact that she did not try to up sell. Even when I asked about extras (altar arrangements, archways, etc.), she gave me her honest opinion about whether or not I really needed them. She stressed that the most important part of my wedding was me and my husband...she didn't want the extras to take away from us! I appreciated that she was looking out for US. The bouquets were absolutely beautiful, and I couldn't be happier!

Creativity and Intuition = Exceptional Floral Design

Working with Dara for my wedding floral design was both a breeze and a pleasure. We had a meeting in person and from that she was quickly able to perfectly capture the decor and ambiance I was picturing in my mind for my wedding. For the smaller budget I had she delivered a stunning, elegant, and romantic overall design that exceeded our expectations. She is very easy to work with and very intuitive and helpful. I was able to call her with thoughts and concerns and she advised me and worked with me, putting any concerns I had at ease any time I spoke with her. It is very nice to work with someone like Dara during your wedding planning as this can be a time of stress for any couple planning their own wedding! We are very pleased we found and chose Dara and would recommend her to any of our family or friends in the future! Thanks again!!!

I LOVED working with Dara!!! She is such a sweetheart. I told her my wedding vision and although I edited my ideas quite often, she always loved them. She truly helped make my day everything I visioned. It was a botanical theme, fairy tale like.

Thank You Dara! The Flowers were absolutely gorgeous!! The center pieces were perfect, they were exactly what I envisioned! I am incredibly grateful for all the work that Dara did for our wedding. The Welcome mirror was picture perfect!!! Dara was very pleasant to work with, quick to respond and flexible when I changed things or added them even up to the last minute. Dara is really a top notch floral designer. She was so easy to work with and the flowers were outstanding. The bouquets were breathtaking. The centerpieces were elegant as were the flowers for the ceremony. Dara's personality makes you feel very relaxed and you know that you are in good hands. Choosing Dara for your wedding would be a very smart move! One less thing to worry about! As with all affairs things could go awry. When a gust of wind blew my daughter's veil into the Navesink River never to be seen again. Dara stepped up and found a bridal shop close by and my daughter had a new veil and the wedding was beautiful! I can't thank her enough!

My daughters 9/16/17 @ The Mill Lakeside Manor was magical. Dara made the impossible a reality. Hurricaine Irma made it impossible for Dara to get our flowers. Dara was not daunted. She went above and beyond to make sure my daughters vision came true. Dara delivered all she promised and then some under very difficult conditions. If you are looking for the best Designs by Dara is your kind of florist. We couldn't have been happier with Dara.

Dara truly is one of a kind! Not only is she creative, but she is such an amazing person to work with. She asked what my vision was for my wedding and she started to rattle off ideas; all that I loved. She was able to make my vision come to life. I collected my Grandma's Brooches and I asked Dara to incorporate them into my bouquet and it came out better than I envisioned. Her attention to detail and the love that she puts into her designs surpass any other florists I have worked with in the past! You will not be sorry when you choose Dara!

We had a wonderful experience with Designs by Dara's Dara Ellis. She provided us with beautiful bouquets, corsages, boutonnières, and centerpieces, as well as chair, chuppah, and temple decorations for our wedding on June 10, 2017. I was stunned when I saw them. She is very accessible and very creative. She will take whatever decorating ideas you have and build on them. She would be a great florist to choose for any special event!

We use Designs by Dara for our wedding flowers....everything from the bouquets to the room décor to the table arrangements. Dara is amazing. She has a great eye for what looks appropriate and for different ideas. I was blown away at how beautiful everything was on the day of our wedding. She captured our vision perfectly and made it even better! Her responsiveness is almost immediate and her prices are very reasonable too!! I wasn’t sure where to start with my flowers, but picking Dara to do my flowers was the best choice I made for my wedding. Dara was welcoming and had amazing ideas when we first met. She really understood what I wanted. I had a mix of low and high assortments which incorporated beautiful white pumpkins and gorgeous flowers. The flowers were so fresh. I highly recommend Dara.

We used Dara for our wedding at The Mill in July. She was amazing! From our consultation, I felt she completely understood what I wanted and she executed the all of the flowers PERFECTLY. She was so helpful during the process and I felt her price and value was very reasonable. She is a true professional.

This florist does weddings, but I used her for a baby shower. I didn't give Dara much time (a week), but she really came through with beautiful flower arrangements. My guests admired them and wanted to take them home! Dara also gave me the option to rent table runners so I did not have to buy them - the room looked great! She also delivered to my venue, so the process was so convenient. I would definitely use Designs by Dara again.

LOVE LOVE LOVE Dara! She is great to work with, she is easily reachable, and responsive, creative, and super friendly. She brought my ideas to life. The flowers were fresh, everything from bouquets to corsages were breathtaking. My guests loved the centerpieces and couldn't believe the little details involved. I worked with Dara for my wedding at the Mill on 8/1/15. She was recommended by the venue and I had met her at their bridal show. When I went to meet her to discuss what I wanted she had tons of photo albums with ideas and I brought pictures of things I liked. She asked me my budget and then later sent me a "vision board" type document with pictures of what we had talked about along with the breakdown of cost. I do not know much about flower types and costs so this was VERY helpful to be able to visualize what we had discussed. She did the outdoor ceremony space, bouquets, boutonnieres, center pieces, and table runners all within my price range. When I first saw the bouquets I was speechless. They were exactly what I had envisioned, but better. The flowers at the venue were amazing too and helped tie together my theme. Thank you so much for helping making our wedding day so beautiful!

I used Dara for my April wedding at The Mill. She came as a recommendation from Amy. I am so happy I asked for her recommendation because my flowers came out exactly how I pictured them in my head! Not one flower wilted the whole day. Dara also decorated the gazebo for our ceremony, which looked like a dream. We just had 3 small clusters of pale pink roses at the center and each corner with draping fabric. The way Dara made those roses, we were able to move them into the reception room to reuse and they looked like they were additional pieces we ordered. We had them around our cake and card/gift box. We were on a budget so I couldn't order these pieces from the start. Dara also made sure we stayed within our budget, which was a great help. My bouquet was made up of white roses and stephanotis with pearls. The size of the bouquet and ratio of flowers were perfectly proportioned. The guys' boutineers were double stephanotis and my husband had a triple one. For something very simple, it looked like a million bucks, so elegant and classic. Dara was even able to incorporate the lace from my mom's wedding dress into the bouquet. I would highly recommend Dara and would definitely use her again for future events.

Dara created the most beautiful table arrangements for our wedding celebration at The Mill on 5/30/15. I told her my budget and a few ideas I had and she did the rest. I know I got far more for my money with Dara than I would have gotten from other vendors I talked to. It took my breath away when I saw how beautiful her arrangements made the room look. Every wedding vendor should be as great and easy to work with as Dara. I highly recommend Dara - you will not be disappointed!!!

Designs by Dara - Dara was the first vendor I booked. I loved her work shown on her website, and felt she would make a great fit to our style. Dara was very responsive to my ideas and offered suggestions as well. She clearly knows her stuff, from look and feel of the flower arrangements to time lines needing to be kept, etc... Dara was quite lovely to work with and her pricing was more then reasonable. I would suggest any friend/family member to use Designs by Dara for any occasion that calls for flower arrangements!

Dara is wonderful -- and an ARTIST - not just a flower shop!

I found Dara at a bridal show and met with her when she had the most beautiful portfolio and best prices!

Dara worked with me to achieve just the look I wanted, and even offered suggestions about how to select flowers so she could make my vision fit my budget. She is super down-to-earth and really easy to talk to. She also worked with me to finalize details long-distance over email.

My best friend just got married in May 2014, and I was a bridesmaid. When I saw the bouquet I'd be carrying that day, I said, "these remind me of my bouquets... Did you use Dara like I suggested?!" She sure did! And her flowers were equally beautiful and unique!

If you are creative and want something classic or whimsical (or anything in between) call Dara because she will make your dream flowers a reality!

Dara is amazing!! She did a beautiful job for our fall wedding. Her ideas were perfect. We gave her some of our ideas and she took off with them. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! I cannot come up with enough positive words for Dara! I came to Dara about 2 months before my wedding because my original florist bailed on me, (via text). I was a flustered nervous bride and Dara was just what the wedding gods ordered. Her work is BEAUTIFUL! Dara responded to my contact right away and reassured me that no matter what we would make things work for my wedding. I met with her at her home office and I felt so COMFORTABLE and welcomed! We talked for about an hour and she was so interested in my style and the feel I wanted for the wedding. She helped me figure out exactly what would work for my venue and my style. Very FLEXIBLE with a budget, something tough to find in Monmouth County. Changes were made literally up until the day before my wedding and all Dara would say is "you do not worry a thing about your flowers for your wedding day!". And boy was she right!! The moment I saw the bouquets I cried! They were EXACTLY what I pictured. That was nothing compared to the centerpieces. My ballroom was ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!! Dara knew exactly what I wanted and did the job efficiently and with confidence! I cried again!! As you can tell I cannot say enough WONDERFUL things!! Thank you Dar!!!

I met Dara at a Bridal Show and am so happy that I did. I liked her right away so I decided to schedule an appointment. We met at her home office, which was adorable. Her peaceful gentle nature put me at ease. She made the whole process so simple for me. She had great suggestions and it felt like she was in my head, seeing just what I was envisioning. She was so good about working with my budget and had an estimate to me the next morning that was spot on.
She was there bright and early setting up on the day of my wedding. I walked in to the venue and the centerpieces and my bouquet took my breath away. The flowers really are my favorite part of the whole day! I couldn't have asked for anything more! It was just beautiful!

Dara was a FANTASTIC florist. I met her at a bridal show case. I was not very in to the whole bridal-show thing so I was skeptical. However, I am very glad I went to this one!

My fiance and I went to see Dara at her home office. I was having a hard time describing to people the theme of my wedding. I knew I wanted something vintage, rustic, but also fun and boardwalk themed. Tricky. The second I saw Dara's home I had a good feeling she would understand me. She talked me through options, gave me suggestions I never thought of, and came in under budget!

I never even had to send her pictures. This worried me at first but when she showed up with my bouquets, I was actually floored. They were exactly what I had envisioned and I did not even know it. They were perfect. She also decorated my venue with vintage mason jars, beautiful fun colors, arches of flowers on the beach, and more! She was professional, on time, and made my day a truly special one!

I would 100%recommend her to any of my friends or family getting married.

From the first time I met Dara she was wonderful to work with! We met in her home and discussed ideas and went through pictures with us for a couple of hours! She had a price estimate to us that day. Throughout the planning she made sure to stay in touch and send me pictures and ideas through Pinterest. The flowers the day of the wedding exceeded my expectations! The bouquets were absolutely beautiful! The center pieces were one of my favorite details of the entire wedding!

Dara did the flowers for our ceremony, reception, and wedding party and she did a great job! She was more affordable than other florist that I had spoken with. She was also very patient and helpful while I tried to figure out what my vision was. I changed my flowers and colors a lot, meanwhile she was always there to listen and respond and send me pictures and never got frustrated with me. I really appreciated that! I had daisies in my bouquets and really wanted them for the groom and groomsmen boutonnieres too, I was so happy when she suggested silk daisies for the boutonnieres because the real daisies would be too fragile and fall apart. She did an amazing job finding daisy boutonnieres to match the daisies in the bridesmaids bouquets. I also love how well she setup the centerpieces and really displayed my vision well. I got lots of compliments from guests about how much they liked the centerpieces. Everything she did looked great!

Dara designed the bouquets, center pieces, ceremony decor, wristlets and boutonnieres for my November 22nd wedding. After our first meeting at her home, I could tell she grasped my vision and was able to identify the flowers I was gravitating towards before I even recognized it. At our second meeting, after a few months of planning, some things had changed and she welcomed the changes without any problem. On the day of the wedding, she arrived about 15 minutes earlier than planned (which was great, didn't have to stress about where my flowers were). Everything looked fabulous and I didn't have to worry about whether the church or reception site was decorated as I knew she was totally on it. She also designed table #s for me and I was relieved to have one thing off my list. Her prices were really reasonable and the flowers held up all through the night. Very kind, friendly, and drama-free. Never felt like she was pushing me to do anything bigger and more expensive than what my visions where. Definitely recommend her work! Pleasure to work with.

Dara was amazing!
She took the time to sit with us to really understand what we envisioned for our day. She made suggestions that we didn't even think of and made sure every little detail was just perfect. From my bouquet to the welcome sign made from reclaimed drift wood. We loved it all!

Dara was amazing - from our first meeting, to the day of the wedding, I was super impressed her.

When we first met, I was at her house for over an hour, discussing what I was looking for, and the overall feel of the wedding. I didn't actually know much about flowers, I was more focused on colors, and Dara gave me some great suggestions for flowers we could use to achieve the look I was going for. Beyond that, her estimate was INCREDIBLY reasonable - I know friends who spent 3x as much for their flowers, so I felt like I got a really great deal.

When the bouquets arrived, they were gorgeous, and were even more beautiful than I envisioned. The centerpieces also exceeded my expectations. Dara also created a unique design for table numbers, which were so lovely - people actually took them home at the end of the night!

I give Dara my HIGHEST recommendation - you will NOT be disappointed with her work!

Designs by Dara did a great job on all of our floral arrangements. Our ceremony decor was perfect and I loved my bridal bouquet. It was exactly what I wanted. She was very easy to work with and I just told her what my vision was and she was able to create exactly what we were looking for. She recommended that we should do 3 different centerpieces and we loved the way it turned out. It really gave our reception room a nice balance. All of the bridesmaids bouquets came out beautifully as well. She really did a great job. Thanks Dara!

Our bouquets, boutinneire's and centerpieces cam out amazing.

I remember the design session with Dara and our wedding planner (Bella Bridal Consultants). Dara had a bunch of books marked based on a few pictures I had sent prior to our meeting. My bouquet was picked out in record time and it was beautiful. The groomsmen had love knots with pink spray roses and the girls bouqets were bright and colorful.

The centerpieces were what really blew me away. I wanted something simple to go with my marina/preppy nautical theme and Dara came up with mini stained crates that stood as the stage for small lanterns, burlap wrapped votives and mixed bottles of single roses (we wanted them to look like a "message in a bottle", bottle). The little bits of color were just right and they were placed on top of nautical striped table runners.
She not only "Got my style" but took it to the next level...in a simple yet sophisticated way.

Five out of five on everything! Dara read our minds when it came to the flowers for the wedding. She quickly picked up on our style and described exactly what she could do for us. The flowers were very competitively priced, and I had no worries about Dara delivering a quality product. She was very flexible with several changes we made at the end. She showed up early and everything was set up on time. Most importantly, the flowers were gorgeous. Dara is extremely talented, and we are so happy that we found her for our floral needs.

WOW, this woman is soooo talented! The floral designs on my wedding day were breathtaking. Everyone commented on how gorgeous the flower arrangements were. She really listened to what I wanted and then created something even more beautiful than I could have imagined. The room where our ceremony was held was a little drab with no windows but Dara really helped to spruce it up nicely. And the ballroom, oh my goodness, the table were centerpieces were incredible. We played with different heights and lots of crystals hanging, floating candles, and orchids submerged in water in clear vases. The value was great. I had asked a couple florists if they could do what I wanted within my budget which they said wasn't possible, but Dara made it possible. She's also very nice and has a really cute dog ;-)

I got a bit creative buying a couple inexpensive decorative items and got experimental with hanging some costume earrings off of something that looked like a bell. We tried to decide together if this stuff was going to look tacky, but actually it ended up looking amazing. She took the items and hung them with tulle from the ceremony arch at different lengths. I was beyond impressed with her designs.

At the end of the wedding, the centerpieces that we were allowed to take home were snatched up in like 2 seconds! My bouquet was awesome, I wish I could have frozen it in time.

I visited several florists before I met with Dara. Dara spent so much time with me looking through bouquets, pictures, and making sure she knew what I was really looking for...even before she knew we were using her at our florist. Her bouquets and centerpieces are absolutely gorgeous and exactly what we discussed. I would highly recommend her.

Stunning Arrangements & Bouquets

Dara was so lovely to work with! She quickly understood my non-traditional view on flowers and was excited to work with me on a unique artistic concept for the flowers. She worked with both natural and paper flowers, and everything came out so beautifully. The flower arrangements were visually stunning and impressive, and super durable! My mom still has a couple of arrangements laid out three weeks after the wedding. My bouquet and the bridesmaids' bouquets were all made with paper flowers, and the boutonnieres were also made out of comic book pages. It was an extra special touch for the bridesmaids to be able to keep their bouquets as souvenirs. There was a tiny miscommunication about the throwing bouquet not being added to the contract (we missed it as well), but we worked it out and it was just a tiny hiccup during an otherwise seamless process. I would absolutely recommend Dara's creations to any bride who is looking for a truly artistic approach to their flowers.

Dara was so easy to work with for our wedding in August and so accommodating! Plus, she's a really great value. Honestly, she was one of if not the best-priced florist we looked at, but her work was just as good if not better than the others. We didn't look for much in terms of flowers; just bouquets of Gerber daisies, boutonnieres and a couple corsages and small bundles of sunflowers. Honestly, we were pretty much looking at the bare minimum of flowers, and simplistic ones at that, but Dara never made us feel like any job was too small. She was more than willing to work with us, and even gave us a few ideas that ultimately ended up in our final floral design. (For instance, we had rainbow bridesmaid bouquets, and instead of trying to dye and match indigo, she suggested subbing in bright magenta Gerberas instead. It was perfect!) She also helped give us a ton of centerpiece inspiration! We did not end up using her for centerpieces and instead DIY-ed them, but she does beautiful work and gave us plenty of inspiration and ideas.

She also uses water holders for all the bouquets, so they stay fresh and healthy all night long, especially important with sometimes delicate flowers like Gerberas. They held on for days after the wedding and looked fantastic the night of! We were very happy with her work! She even tied matching ribbon around each bouquet to match the color and corresponding ribbon around each boutonniere. Her attention to detail really made it all come together.

We also ended up using her for the cake flowers at almost the last minute. But for a super-reasonable price, she gave us extra flowers from the bouquets and she decorated the cake with them. It came out lovely and made our cake just perfect! Again, she was just so accommodating and made the whole process really easy.

I was a little worried using Dara because she operates her business out of her house and there weren't a lot of reviews on her - but my flowers ended up being perfect. She was great to work with. She picked up on my "style" before I even knew it myself. She was flexible and didn't mind that our order was very small. Prices seemed reasonable for the bouquets.

For someone who knows nothing about flowers, Dara was excellent at reading my vague vision and creating beautiful flower arrangements for my wedding day. The flowers were gorgeous and I would recommend her to others. However, she is not very responsive and is not big on signing contracts. She did not follow up after our initial meeting to ensure I was happy and if I wanted to make changes, but she did respond when i reached out to her. She works well and created beautiful arrangements, although many bouquets started to fall apart by middle of the day.
