Loved my dress

I had an amazing experience with Designer Loft. Unfortunately my stylist, Oscar, is no longer working there. I absolutely loved my dress, by Robert Bullock. Very classic, elegant and simple but high quality.

Fantastic selection and experience

I worked with Bianca at Designer Loft Bridal, and she was the absolute best! She made me feel so comfortable and took away the stress of dress shopping (which I was absolutely dreading). She really listened and know what would look great on my body shape. Although I didn’t end up getting my dress here, I cannot recommend it enough. The whole team there is great!

I felt celebrated

I had such a great experience here! Making a reservation was an easy and smooth process. I was a little early to my appointment and they were very welcoming and accommodating. Oscar was an AMAZING help. He listened to what I wanted, asked great questions, worked within my budget (which was tight), made great suggestions, styled the dress in ways that really pulled everything together, and was so easy to talk to and personable. Overall, I had a VERY positive experience. I came with one of my bridesmaids and we both agreed that we were really impressed with the store, Oscar, his manager, and the other employees he pulled in for this or that. I did not feel pressured in any way, and the whole experience was very comfortable, and I felt well taken care of and authentically celebrated. ALSO, the dresses were gorgeous! Thank you Oscar and Designer Loft!

i would give this place so many more stars if i could!! an incredible experience and where i ended up buying my dress from ❤️ everyone is so kind and welcoming, the showroom is gorgeous, and they have endless options to choose from. ask for jamie!! i went to a few other bridal boutiques but designer loft was heads and shoulders above the rest. highly recommend you come here if you’re looking for a wedding dress!

Wonderful Experience with Ella!

While I found my gown elsewhere, my mother, sister, and I had the best time at Designer Loft last week! They had a fantastic selection of a huge variety of styles, and were able to show me gowns across a spectrum of pricing options. I really appreciated my stylist, Ella, and her ability to pick up on what I was loving and what I was nervous about, and how quickly she understood my vibe and what I was looking for! The salon was clean and comfortable, and we had our own little alcove near my fitting room, providing some privacy.
I truly loved the gowns here, and really recommend it!

Amazing team from start to finish!

I got my dress at Designer Loft with the help of the incredible Jamie! I had seen my dress in a different fabric at another store and something just felt *off*. Jamie then pulled it in a matte satin (instead of sateen) and it was suddenly perfect. She was so helpful and attentive and pulled the most beautiful gowns. But the experience only gets better from here! The tailoring team of Nino and Natasha at Designer Loft are INCREDIBLE. They made some huge changes to my dress until it fit me like a glove. They even came in on days off so my mom could join me at times that worked for her work schedule. They pumped me up before my wedding and gave great advice (like skipping a last minute spray tan and bringing flat shoes and a second dress). I would recommend them to any friend looking for a dress in NYC!

The Best in the Business!

I cannot say enough amazing things about Designer Loft. I had my heart set on a specific dress for quite some time and went to the flagship store to try it on. I absolutely loved the dress but hated the mesh netting at the neck and armpits and how revealing the dress was in the chest area. The designer refused to perform any alterations on the dress and I thought I was going to have to say goodbye to my dream dress until I met Virginia at Designer Loft. She promised me that Designer Loft's in-house alterations department would be able to remove the mesh netting without ruining the dress and suggested I order extra applique from the train of the dress to sew into the fabric around the chest area. Thanks to Virginia's experience and understanding of exactly what I wanted and Natasha's amazing alterations, I was able to get married in my dream dress (which is also now one of a kind)! I highly recommend Designer Loft to any bride!

Truly Wonderful and Memorable Shopping Experience

Scheduling a Bridal consultation online was seamless and I am highly appreciative it was free! The day of my appointment, I stepped into Designer Loft and felt not only welcomed, but that down-to-earth energy that just can't be commercialized or faked. Either a place and employees give off good vibes or they don't, and from start to finish this place and everyone who worked there gave me good vibes.

My party (my mom and sisters) were running significantly late, so I was alone for the first half of my appointment. I am very grateful that there was not a single implied criticism or comment on me being alone trying on wedding dresses. I also appreciated that I wasn't made to feel out of place or somehow unfitting for the shop. As a curvy Black woman, I've had countless experiences where I was treated that way. It was obvious to me, who knows acutely what that feels like, that the Designer Loft staff I had the pleasure of meeting didn't give me that subtle grossness.

My consultant especially, Virginia, never made me feel out of place or uncomfortable, and made me laugh multiple times. Virginia made me feel listened to, respected, and beautiful. Her genuineness and active listening to what I was looking for, what I loved and what I didn't like in a dress, is what locked in my amazing Designer Loft experience. Virginia ultimately made my bridal shopping at Designer Loft truly wonderful and memorable.

Even as I found my dream wedding dress somewhere else, I wouldn't trade my experience at Designer Loft for anything. Thank you Designer Loft and Virginia for making the experience of shopping for a wedding dress so wonderful, memorable, and special.

My experience at Designer Loft was top-notch! My associate, Amy, went above and beyond to provide exceptional service. She remained patient as I tried on many dresses that were not right for me, and skillfully absorbed my comments and feedback to select dresses that brought me closer to my ultimate pick. She even started a text thread for us where we could share ideas in between appointments. She was professional, thorough, and always kept the mood light and fun! A dream for plus size brides!

I made an appointment on a whim. I called to see if they had a dress in stock and from the minute they picked up the phone every person I spoke to was so kind, so real, and had none of that pressure and fussiness that scares me as a bride and a plus size girl (I'm a size 16/18 normally, bridal 22++).

Every person in this company was just genuinely excited for me and felt down to earth and ready to help with whatever I was dreaming up without hesitation or fanfare. I came in at 5:45PM on a Tuesday for an appointment with Becky and IMMEDIATELY felt at home. As a full bodied woman it's so easy to feel out of place in stores with a limited selection - rest assured, Designer Loft will make you feel as incredible as you are, no matter your size.

I had my appointment with Becky tonight and not only did she pull some dresses that totally surprised me (in a good way), she listed to ALL of my very particular wants for my dress, and ultimately the first dress she pulled is very likely going to be the one for me. I came to the appointment alone, but by the end of the appointment, chatting with Liz (the owner) and Becky, I felt like I just wanted to take them out for dinner and hang out.

Speaking of hanging out, not only did Becky call a designer to try to source a special sample of a particular dress for me that they didn't have in stock, Becky went the extra mile (or several) and stayed 10+ minutes after hours to answer all my questions and write down all the details, including a deal.

Also, there's no cost for a bridal appointment!!!

Honestly, I am telling every person I know to come here for wedding dress shopping -- you can't buy the kind of good energy this team brings to you. It's not just a bridal appointment, it's that little extra magic that helped me truly feel like a bride for the first time. What a precious moment they gave me - I am so so grateful.

Jamie Burke & Team, I love you

I visited 4 bridal boutiques when searching for my dress. Jamie and her team could have put me in a trash bag and I would have bought it and been thrilled with the experience. Luckily, they're all experts with a great eye, and I ended up with the perfect dress, instead. Jamie was energetic, positive, fun, and genuine, and she truly listened to what I wanted and why (not the case elsewhere). Finding a dress shouldn't have been that easy, and yet it only took a few tries for her to locate exactly what I was looking for (and their inventory is massive). Every visit back to Designer Loft for fittings, etc., was convenient and ran smoothly, and the entire team is engaging and friendly. I don't really have plans to need another wedding dress, but I will force every engaged friend I have to visit Designer Loft A) so I can come and B) because I have no doubts they, too, will find their perfect dress there.

Helpful and kind

It was my first boutique to come in for appointment. Michaela helped me go through what I like and everything. She answered all my questions, and made me feel comfortable.
She was quick to understand my taste and vibe, listened to me, and gave me plenty of time to try on the dresses. Manager was nice and clear about things, explained me about alterations as well.
I went to different boutique after but I felt right at this place and the dress I found was absolute winner. Very happy that I made appointment at Designer Loft.

Absolutely incredible experience!

My wedding date was set for 7 months after my engagement. I knew what brand that I was looking for. The manager of the store, Liz, went out of her way to make sure that she ordered some samples that she didn't have in stock from the new Rosa Clara collection. The communication was above and beyond. Liz was in touch with me while she was away on vacation to let me know that the samples arrived and that she was looking forward to meeting with me for my appointment. She had arranged for one of her consultants, Carly, to come in on her day off to accommodate me on a weekend when they were fully booked and had a trunk show going on. Carly was amazing. She was truly dedicated to helping me find my dream dress. At the end of the day, the dress that they did not have in the store was the one I couldn't stop thinking about.
After trying on several dresses, Liz took me into a special room to help me recreate what the dress of my dreams would look like on me. I had 3 different dresses on to assimilate the look of the dress I wanted based on pictures and from the Rosa Clara website with samples that Liz had in stock from that specific collection. From there, I ended up ordering the dress that I really wanted. I cannot wait to go back for my first fitting when the dress arrives. Liz and Carly went out of their way to make sure that I purchased my dream dress. I am so thankful to both of them for making it such an amazing experience.

The Most Amazing Experience

Designer Loft was the first bridal shop I visited and I'm so grateful for the wonderful experience. I emailed them a few days early to let them know I would be in the City earlier than expected and they went out of their way to accommodate my tight schedule and fit us (my bridal party and I) in on a Saturday afternoon.

My bridal consultant Brie was really a Godsend. She sat down with me to ask me my vision and totally understood it. She was kind, generous with her time, listened to my feedback, and was super positive about everything (her energy was so infectious we all left there feeling like we could conquer the world).

While I didn't say "yes" to the dress this time, I would certainly go back. I'd definitely recommend Designer Loft to every bride in New York City. The intimate experience, attention to detail, level of care, and all the gorgeous dresses are absolutely worthwhile.

Wonderful experience, found my dream dress

I went to many bridal stores in the city and Designer Loft was the best experience. Finding a wedding dress is a special occasion - you certainly want to feel special but also true to yourself. My stylist made me feel right at home. The dresses are beautiful and I actually had a tough time choosing, but ultimately fell in love with one. Tailoring process was *seamless* (pun intended).. despite many COVID delays and many fittings, Designer Loft worked with me to get the dress absolutely perfect.

Wonderful experience

After my sister had a wonderful experience buying a dress off the rack at Designer Loft I decide to go back for my wedding dress. With 3 months to plan I found an amazing dress off the rack with the help of Jamie. She was so wonderful to work with and even wrote the sweetest note to me before we left after saying yes to my dress. The team was amazing with the alterations as I wanted to remove quite a bit of layering on the bottom. After a few fittings my dress was exactly as I imagined and I couldn’t be happier!

Great Experience with Designer Loft!

From my wife for our November 2019 wedding: My mother and I went to Designer Loft Bridal in August, 2019, to start our search for my dress for my November 2019 wedding. We had ideas about what we were looking for, which I described to the staff member when I scheduled my appointment. I tried on about 6 dresses, giving feedback on each one. When I walked out wearing a Rosa Clara gown, my mom and I knew that there was no need to look further. I scheduled 2 additional fittings, and had no trouble having my gown on time. The staff at Designer Loft Bridal were attentive, helpful, and cooperative during the entire process. I can’t tell you how many complements I received on my wedding day.

Wonderful Experience

Designer Loft was my first bridal appointment and with the help of the stylist Nina, I was able to find my dream dress and say "YES" to the dress. From the moment, my family and I arrived Nina was extremely helpful and pleasant. She was very patient with me and attentive. She sat with me and my family for a few minutes to ask me questions about what type of dresses I was looking for, when is the wedding, did I have any specific designers in mind and my budget. I showed her a few pictures and from there she pulled about 10-12 dresses pretty quickly. I tried on a few dresses and then Nina picked out this beautiful gown, which I didn't even think I was looking for. But, once I tried it on, I knew this was the one and my family agreed. She gave me ideas on straps, veils, meshing, etc. Nina definitely has a great eye and was wonderful to work with. Liz, the owner and the other stylist were great as well. Everyone was so friendly, helpful and complimentary. And I loved how Nina included my 10 year old son in the process. I had such a wonderful experience.

Kindness for a big day

When the big day came for me to shop for my wedding dress with my mother, I visited four different boutiques. Designer Loft was far and away the best of the bunch in variety of dresses and outstanding service. Immediately when I entered I was greeted with smiling faces who got us both comfortable. I was asked about my vision before being whisked away to a dressing room, my mom waiting in a viewing area. I was very nervous, but everyone person I met was warm and friendly, putting me at ease. I tried on four dresses, and with each showing, we were all able to narrow in on my ideal dress. The fourth dress, a sleeveless ball gown, was the clear winner. However, I had my heart set on an off-the-shoulder dress with a little less puff. Immediately, the dresser tucked away some of the tulle and pinned on temporary sleeves; I was amazed how quickly they could transform the dress into what I was envisioning. I purchased the dress confidently.
It took several months for the dress to arrive, but I was informed immediately of its arrival and scheduled the first of my fittings. For the next few months, I worked with their expert seamstress who made my dress fit me like a glove, even as I continued to lose weight. The sleeves she added were more intricate than they originally showed me and I was so thankful of the extra work she put in. Her attention to detail was astounding and it was clear to me that she treated every dress like it was her own wedding dress. Even when I asked for last-minute changes (making the sleeves removable), she got it done in three days, in time for me to pick it up for the wedding.
There was never a time when I walked in that I wasn’t overwhelmed by the staff’s kindness. Wedding planning is extremely stressful, but my visits to Designer Loft became a welcomed break from all the craziness. Here, I knew I was in good hands. They made me feel beautiful and confident, and by the time of my last fitting, I felt like friends with the entire staff.
Yes, Designer Loft is more expensive than other options in the city. However, they are willing to work with your budget, and their outstanding service was well-worth the added price. I assure you, you won’t be making a mistake picking Designer Loft as your wedding dress boutique.

I had only recently started my quest for the perfect wedding dress, I had barely made a dent in the process as I still didn’t know what style or fit of dress I wanted. I went into the appointment with no expectations and assumed I would just be continuing to try new things on and narrow down my choices. Upon our arrival everyone was very welcoming, they checked us in quickly and took us on time for our appointment. My bridal consultant, Jamie, was nothing short of amazing! She really took her time to get to know me, during our talk she made a list of all my likes and dislikes which she then used to pick out her selections of what dresses she thought I should try on.

While she hunted for her choices, I was instructed to wander the store and search for what dresses I wanted to try on. I appreciated this since many dress stores do not give you this option. Jamie picked out tons of different options, and since I am heavy chested, she even offered me a corset/bustier to wear which really made me so much more comfortable. When I tried on her selections, Jamie never appeared to be upset or offended if I did not like them. Instead she used the feedback to improve her selections. After trying several dresses, without any warning, she handed me the PERFECT dress. It hit the mark for every single want on my list, and I know for certain I would not have picked this dress out from the racks myself. I was so shocked that I found the perfect dress so quickly, the appointment exceeded my expectations! I am so thankful to Jamie and the whole team at Designer loft for their expertise. I would recommend this dress shop to anyone, as the whole experience was nothing short of amazing.

Great experience!

Working with Designer Loft was an absolute dream! Our first encounter was an email I had sent to them - I found the Rosa Clara Pravia dress online and was determined to try it on. I emailed every salon in NYC that carried the designer and without fail, I got an email back saying "we don't have the dress in NYC but would be happy to ship it in from Spain for you to try it on for $500+". I was about to give up and Designer Loft was my last email. To my surprise, their response was "Yes! We can get this beautiful gown for you to try!" - no. strings. attached. I was so excited! Turns out my hunch was right, I went into Designer Loft to try on the dress (after they shipped it in from Spain without any cost to me!) and it was the one. I purchased the dress! Working with their seamstress Natasha was so seamless - she was incredible! She was super flexible with scheduling and was willing to see me 4+ times before the wedding until the dress was just right. It turned out absolutely perfectly and I couldn't have been happier with the final product. Designer Loft - thank you for going above and beyond to make sure that I had the perfect dress for my day!!

You Made My Wedding Day!

Liz from Designer Loft is a life (wedding) saver! I ordered a dress from a bridal salon in Boston and was disappointed when the dress came in. With 3 months until my wedding, I was in a pinch, but luckily found the dress of my dreams a week later. The dress was over-budget and I was told it would not arrive on time. I reached out to many bridal salons that carried the dress to see if anyone could help me out and Liz was the first to respond. She was so sweet and assured me she would get me the dress in time for my wedding. She put calls into the designer immediately and gave me her personal cell phone number to keep me in the loop. Not only did the dress arrive on time, but it was a week early due to Liz’s persistence. She also was able to get it to me at a discount as the dress was part of her trunk show. I am so thankful for Liz for going above and beyond and for giving me peace of mind throughout the whole process.

Stumbled upon this shop and it was perfect

This was the first place I tried on my dress and had a super pleasant experience (unlike many other stores). After though I continued to try on 100 dresses at other stores and ultimately still came back here because I couldn’t stop thinking about this dress. They totally helped me customize it to make it perfect and even though it took 5 fittings, each time the seamstress was able to work with me to make small adjustments to make the dress exactly how I envisioned. She had a bunch of different ideas on how to make it more comfortable (particularly since my dress was long sleeve) and even sewed my fur shawl (not from the store) for me in a way that would stay up all night. So amazing!

Exactly what you would hope for!

This was a last minute appointment after 5 failed attempts in other locations. I was looking for something simple, classic, flattering that had a little something special and after trying many styles I felt like I needed to settle on one even though nothing felt right.

As soon as I walked in the customer service was like no other salon I went to. Alison asked me questions about what I had already tried, looked at pictures and did everything she could to help me find what I was looking for. She had me walk around and pick some dresses on my own while she also pulled some. She was really good at helping me narrow down the ones I liked and within the first 30 minutes I had it down to 3 that I loved which I never found anywhere else. She didn't push me or rush me into anything. I ended up with my dream dress by Yumi Katsura and would highly recommend her and Designer Loft to anyone who is looking for a relaxing and fun experience with unique dress options.

Had my dream Rosa Clara dress

I found this store because they carried Rosa Clara, which I had fallen in love with online. They have a really good Rosa Clara selection along with some other international brands that aren’t as commonly found here in the US. I had only good experiences in that store. I ended up choosing the first dress I tried on and then when I had doubts about the dress the next day they let me come back in to try it on again and confirm my choice.
Eileen did my fittings. She did an absolutely wonderful job and I wouldn’t hesitate to hire her again if I needed a dress fitted/hemmed.

Let me preface this review by saying that I am VERY picky and have VERY high expectations. Throughout this process, I knew what I wanted and so many times I walked into other stores in NY that had great reviews or were famous (cough Klienfelds cough) and the bridal attendants just didn't get it. They heard but they didn't really listen so they brought me options that just weren't what I was looking for. Or they just didn't have anything that was in the realm of what I was looking for. Or they straight up just didn't care and seemed preoccupied. But the Designer Loft is different. The unassuming location does not represent the quality of service and dresses there. From the moment I had my first appointment, Liz was my hero. She got me. She asked questions, she listened, she tried to be creative, she tried to mix and match dresses, show me overskirts, create the perfect dress. And all, might I add, being extraordinarily budget conscious. Here, they don't try to rip you off. Which so many other places do. (Umm $800 alternation fee at Kleinfelds??!!) Liz was so phenomenal that even after I left my appointment without a dress, she would email me links to new dresses coming in that she thought I would like. She was so thoughtful and she was right there with me on my hunt. She was in my corner. It turned out, I found THE dress at a random store in upstate NY when I wandered in there on a whim by myself while on vacation. But when you find a good person and a good place you want to order the dress through them. Even though they didn't carry this designer anymore, they used to, and Liz called in a favor and got me my dress (a few days before they discontinued it, I might add). She was a miracle worker. But this review wouldn't be complete without mentioning Natasha, the most competent, talented seamstress there. In addition to carefully and perfectly tailoring the dress to fit my body, she built FROM SCRATCH an overskirt to help complete my vision. She literally got fabric,

We went to 4 other places to look at dresses before arriving at Designer Loft. The staff there was really professional and took a lot of time figuring out what exactly I wanted. I loved a strapless dress from Pronovias however I hate strapless on me so I was having a hard time figuring out what my other options were. Instead of pushing me to something else Designer Loft found a vest (it buttoned in the back) that matched perfectly that made me feel comfortable on the top and was really unique. Other bridal stores didn't put this much care into making sure I was comfortable. The alteration process was also very seamless. I was able to custom design my own veil using my mother's veil and a new veil.

I really enjoyed my time working with everyone there.

Designer Loft was the only place that didn't make me feel crazy for asking for my ideal dress at a less than $3K price! They asked me what dress they had to beat when I walked in defeated about the price of my "perfect" dress and they beat it! They cap their alterations and provide everything you need throughout the whole process. They were reasonable and responsiveness and "got it". Highly recommend.

I had a great experience working with Designer Loft from start to finish! I came in last September, depressed after a particularly upsetting fitting at another place (hello sample size 0?!?). That’s when I met Virginia who totally turned my day around! She was so helpful in selecting gowns to try on and making me feel super comfortable. She easily stayed within my price range ($1500-$3000) and helped me visualize all of my options for alterations. After about 45 minutes w her – I found my dress – a beautiful Pronovias gown!! Seriously, if you have the opportunity to work with Virginia – do it!! She was also there for my first fitting and it felt like I was reuniting with a friend - she’s the best!

My dress arrived in February and I started fittings in May – Natasha was a dream to work with. Super talented and I feel like she went above and beyond to make sure my dress was absolutely perfect (and it was).

Fell in love with my dress at Designer Loft! I initially came for the Pronovias trunk show but fell in love with Matthew Christopher's dresses, and returned the following week for his trunk show. This was only my second time dress shopping, and I instantly found my wedding dress. I had 5 fittings with Natasha, who did a fantastic job making the dress fit me perfectly. She created a beautiful bustle and also made sure to give the dress a final steam minutes before I picked it up so that it was looking perfect on my wedding day.

I wish I could give Designer Loft more stars than just five because I had the BEST experience with their company. For me, buying a wedding dress brought on a lot of anxieties and worries. Prior to my appointment at Designer Loft, I had several bad experiences at other stores which made me even more uncomfortable searching for my dress. From the moment I stepped foot inside Designer Loft, I immediately felt relaxed and at ease. Their space is on the smaller size and they only have one appointment at a time -- a huge bonus in my opinion. I never felt rushed during our appointments and they really made my mom and I feel at home. Frey was absolutely incredible and helped me pick out my dress. I then worked with Natasha to customize my Pronovia's gown and it turned out just how I wanted. I'm so pleased with my experience at Designer Loft and have already recommended them to every bride I know. Throughout my appointments, I also noticed how much they embrace diversity and cater to brides of all shapes, colors and sizes -- this, to me, really exemplifies the character of the company. I loved, loved, loved getting my wedding dress here!! Eileen helped my find the perfect dress, exactly what I wanted! I worked with her for about a year. I found my dress last Oct and was married this past August. She helped tailor my dress each fitting (total of 4 fittings) and it was perfect by the end! I bought my wedding dress at Designer Loft and I could not be happier with it! I'd already fallen in love with a dress at another store earlier in the day, but had an appointment at Designer Loft and figured I'd go through with it, but I didn't expect to find anything. Lindsay worked with my mother, my maid of honor, and me to try on all sorts of dresses. In the end, I was pleasantly surprised to find a dress I loved even more! It truly is the perfect dress for me! And Lindsay was the one to pick it out and suggest that I try it on. She was great at listening to my feedback about styles and also very respectful of my budget. She's also been extremely responsive to my emails. Designer Loft's in-house tailor, Natasha, also did an amazing job of altering my dress to make sure it fit me perfectly! I can't say enough about Designer Loft, as well as the tailor I worked with through this store, Natasha. I came to Designer Loft with an idea of what I wanted in a dress, and left after trying on some gowns and mulling them over. I decided a few weeks after my visit that I wanted to purchase a dress I had tried on - only to discover that the designer had discontinued the line! Designer Loft took it upon themselves to work with the designer, and arrange to have one more dress made for me! As if that weren't enough, Natasha worked with me tirelessly over the next few months to transform this dress into one that fit me perfectly - while staying attentive to my comments and questions as she worked on alterations. I lived out of the city, and the store was also flexible about scheduling fittings during times when I was able to make it into New York. I loved my dress so much, as did everyone else at my wedding. I got so many compliments and I could not have felt better all day. It was just amazing! And while I was picking my dress, I couldn't have been happier with the service. I thought I knew exactly what dress I wanted (and ordered it)--Designer Loft was amazingly patient and accommodating as I did a major alternation to make my dress strapless (despite starting with an illusion neckline). They continue to ensure that all my alternations were done on time and continued to allow for minor adjustments as I needed the dress to be taken in or otherwise altered. I found my dress while they were having a Rose Clara (soft collection) trunk show but they had so many beautiful gowns, and their staff are super friendly, professional, and will work with your schedule. I would highly recommend this store for your bridal gown needs!

Designer Loft was amazing from the start! It was the last place I went to to look for my dress, and that is where I found the one. It is also the place my sister found her wedding dress, which was kind've cool and sentimental.

My attendant was great, she let us look through the dresses, and I found the exact Pronovias dress I had pictured in my head (after trying on many, many Pronovias dresses, and designing the perfect one in my head- they had it!) As soon as I put it on, we all knew it was the one.

After that, they were excellent about letting me book appointments around my schedule, especially since I had to travel from out of town. The seamstresses were amazing. At my final fitting, my hem was still too long (the bottom was a little complicated with many layers!) They fixed the hem right then and there so we could make sure it was perfect and that I wouldn't have to come back! They steamed and packaged the dress beautifully, and I couldn't wait to wear it.

I loved everything about my experience at Designer Loft from the time I tried on dresses to the day I picked it up.
When I went to try on dresses with my girlfriends, the sales person was experienced, smart and brought me out of my comforrt zone to find the perfect dress! It was not what I was looking for but it looks like it was made for me and she knew it. Plus, unlike other bridal salons, they were not phased by my friends taking pictures of me in gowns. That was so refreshing and helpful.
When I picked up the dress, Liz, the owner helped me get the perfect finishing touches and didn't mind staying way after closing to make sure I was happy with everything. She then followed up the next day to make sure everything was ordered on time.
I am happy with my experience at the Designer Loft!

Designer Loft not only has a great selection of dresses, but they also have great customer service and really seem to care about their brides. I was planning my wedding in NYC in ~7 months and probably started my dress search a little on the late side. I was assured that my dress would arrive and I could get alterations on time which I did. I even added a blingy belt to my dress about 3 weeks before the wedding and they were able to accommodate. I had a wonderful experience with Designer Loft and would highly recommend them.

I tried 20+ places in NYC to find a dress and was completely exhausted by the process. When my mom dragged me to Designer Loft I thought it would be another warehouse with rack after rack of dresses in bags stuffed together. Instead, we found ourselves in a beautiful space with very friendly staff and all of the dresses displayed gorgeously throughout the loft. They had a unique selection of gowns, along with very pretty accessories. It was small and intimate and didn't feel like so many of the appointments I had previously been on- rushed, falsely sweet and impersonal. I couldn't be happier with my dress and accessories I purchased here. They're also doing all of the alterations in house and I'm getting creative input on all the changes. I would recommend Designer Loft to any bride in NYC looking for a beautiful dress and shopping experience.

I loved my dress so much, as did everyone else at the wedding. I got so many compliments and people asking where I got my dress. Just amazing! And while I was picking my dress, I couldn't have been happier with the service. All the dresses I tried on fit me wonderfully and were comfortable but my ultimate decision was perfect for me. I only had a couple months to get the dress done and altered before my wedding and they rushed it for no extra fee and I had plenty of time for alterations. As with Designer Loft you will be paying more than David's Bridal but it was worth it to have a unique dress that nobody had seen before and especially when it is designed by San Patrick

Designer Loft was the first place I visited when shopping for a wedding dress. Their staff was very, very helpful in suggesting flattering styles of dresses I never considered - I ultimately chose a dress that I never envisioned initially, but immediately fell in love with. It was a perfect fit, just my style, and accentuated my figure without much help from foundation garments. Further, their prices are incredibly affordable. I spent much less on my dress than I budgeted, including the cost of on-site alterations.

My wife was looking for a wedding dress for her sisters wedding and stopped by Designer Loft to check out some dresses.
Elizabeth the Manager was so helpful that my wife decided to order a dress right on the spot.
Designer loft did the fitting and alterations and the dress was beautiful.

I always check reviews before I buy at places, and was admittedly nervous about some of the negative reviews this place had. However, they were one of the only shops that sold the brand of dress I wanted to try on for my wedding. Within moments of arriving, I was in love!

I worked with several wonderful women since early summer 2011. They let me try on LOTS of dresses and wanted me to feel beautiful and comfortable... bonus, they are a shop that is OK with you taking photos. This is a huge deal to anyone who has family members not living in NYC.

Natasha was an amazing seamstress and Liz and all of her sales staff are truly a wonderful bunch that really just wants to ensure every bride has a perfect dress and day. They are organized, caring, helpful, and lovely. I can't rave enough about this place.

Even if you go with another shop in the end for your dress, it would be a mistake to miss this shop.

I was planning my NYC wedding while living in Spain, and I flew to NY for one week to look at dresses. Designer Loft is one of the few salons in NY that carries Jenny Packham dresses, and so I had high hopes for my appointment. They did not let me down! I don't consider myself a princess bride. I wanted something classy and different, and they have so many dresses that fit this description. I was lucky enough to find a dress that fit my personality and the event perfectly, and it was on sale for half price! The atmosphere is friendly and intimate, and the people were very accommodating. Because I was only in town for a couple of weeks before the wedding they squeezed three dress fittings into two weeks. I loved Designer Loft! I went to Klienfelds and to Wedding Atelier, but I found the one at Designer Loft. They have a great selection of new and not mass-market designers, along with more popular brands. They also let you touch the gowns and go through them yourself, rather than only having an attendant bring you what she thinks you would want. I found an amazing La Spousa dress. It was very unique and I got compliments on it all night long.

The service also was great. Making alteration appointments were easy and they always started on time. The alterations came out perfect as well. The dress couldn't fit better. Go to Designer Loft!

My experience with Designer Loft was fantastic. I had my heart set on a specific Jenny Packham gown, but I was working on a cruise ship and was not able to come in to try on and order my dress.
We communicated via email up until it was time to order the gown, and they were very patient with me, helping me to choose the right size based on my measurements.
I called to place the order when we ported in Guatemala, and they ordered the gown and shipped it to my father in Florida. It was a very unusual way to order your wedding gown, but they took it in stride and were more than helpful.
The gown fit perfectly, too. No alterations necessary!

I got my gorgeous dress from The Designer Loft in New York City. My rep was Alana and the moment she saw me, she knew the designer that I would fall in love with...Jenny Packham from London. I was not into "frothy, confections" nor was I into anything that looked even remotely traditional...what I went with was a most ethereal, silk charmeuse w/a sheer silk overlayer w/aurora borealis crystal and natural pearls dangling from the low v-cut decolletage. My dress was gorgeous and everything I ever wanted.

I got my dress at a Rosa Clara trunk show. The shop is super cute and has a small boutique feel even though it's in the middle of NYC. Oscar was my consultant and made the day so much fun! Alterations went so smoothly with Natascha. She was always smiling and making me feel beautiful. Everyone said the dress was made for me, and I have Designer Loft to thank for that.

I had a wonderful experience at Designer Loft, from the initial appointment to my final fitting. I worked with Logan, who was incredibly sweet and responsive. She worked with me to find the perfect dress within my budget. I was able to come back a few times to try on the dress, while I made my final decision, and Designer Loft was super flexible about letting me do so. Logan was attentive, and followed up with me, but I never felt pressured. Natasha, who does the alterations, was also wonderful--super sweet and easy-going.

I had probably tried on two dozen dresses, many from popular designer stores, and was ready to believe I'd be walking down the aisle in my pajamas! On a whim my mother had me meet her at Designer Loft one Thursday night and I ended up finding my dress! The store is full of beautiful dresses of every style. I was taken through each one and never felt rushed, even trying on my top 2 choices twice. The price was way better than some others I had tried on at other stores which made me feel like I was getting a gorgeous dress for a steal! Since then I've had two fittings and felt the staff is just terrific each time I go. Highly recommend Designer Loft for your wedding dress!

I went in to Designer Loft and had Raquel as my consultant. She was great, listened to what I wanted and once trying on multiple dresses, she found one from the back that she thought I would like. I tried it on and fell in love with it. It was very different from what I thought I wanted but she was right to bring it out. I love it. And was very flexible with the fact my family are in a different country and needed to have their opinion before I said yes to buying the dress. I was there over the time I was supposed to and did not feel rushed at all. I would recommend any bride to go here as the staff were very friendly and great to work with.

I have visited a number of bridal salons in NYC in search of the perfect dress, and I found Designer Loft. This salon has a large selection of bridal dresses and gives brides the flexibility to browse the dresses and make their own selections. Melissa was extremely helpful along the process. She was very patient and accommodating, even after I asked to try on the same dress two times in a single appointment. I never felt rushed or pressured to make a decision.

My only dissatisfaction was on the scheduling process. It seems like there was always a discrepancy between the time I recorded and the time that the salon put down. While the salon was always able to make accommodation, it would have been helpful if the salon could call the brides the day before the appointment to verify the times.

I went to designer loft after I already had a vision for my wedding dress. But after going to them, I fell in love with a different look and found my perfect dress! Logan, my consultant, is a life saver. She is professional, caring, has a great sense of style and made me feel at ease. She listened to my needs and found me a beautiful dress. She gave me her number and coordinated her schedule so she could attend my fittings. I also had a great experience with Anastasia and Eileen, the professional seamstress/tailors. They are so sweet and lovely. I couldn't be happier!

Designer Loft Bride is a small quaint bridal shop for those brides who seek an intimate and personal feel to their bridal gown shopping experience. This bridal shop is also unique in that no one is forcing you to purchase a dress on your first visit. They are very respectful of your price range and the specifics of the gown you are seeking to get. I recall my first visit was on a whim after visiting several other bridal shops which left me annoyed and frustrated. Such was not the case at the Designer Loft. I arrived and was greeted with respect and pleasantness. The staff were really friendly and not pushy. After providing my price range for a wedding gown and the gown details and specifics we started to choose styles off the dress rack to try on. I immediately fell in love with a Paloma Blanca wedding gown. I had returned to the store a total of THREE times before deciding to purchase and each and every time I returned to try on the gown before making my final decision, the staff remained friendly, patient and pleasant, which is exactly what a bride needs. My alterations were also a pleasant experience. The seamstress was very talented and patient with me. I had to go for a total of 4 dress fittings because I am so petite in stature but at the end it was a beautiful and elegant result. I truly fell in love with the Designer Loft staff team and my Paloma Blanca wedding gown. Thank you, Designer Loft Bridal!

I had a great experience at the Designer Loft. I got my dress and all of the bridesmaids dresses here. They have a wonderful selection of quality dresses at reasonable prices and the sales women are not snobby. I have heard horror stories about brides getting their dresses ordered too large so that the bridal salons can make more money in alterations. This was not the case for me. My dress was sized perfectly with minor alterations.

The Designer Loft Bridal boutique is the perfect place to go for a down-to-earth place with plenty of options to choose from. As soon as I arrived for my appointment I was given a questionnaire to get a sense of what I was looking for & my budget. The lady who helped me showed me all the different options available within my budget & was totally honest about what looked good/great & just okay on me. I fell in love with a dress from Matthew Christopher from the second I saw it on the hanger & I knew it was the one when I tried it on. I was a bit skeptical of going into NYC to buy my dress since I've heard of sales people being too pushy or snooty but that is not the vibe that Designer Loft has at all. They allowed me to take pictures which not all boutiques do. I'm so glad I went there & my bridal dress shopping was a smooth fun process.

I loved loved loved my sample La Sposa dress I bought here and got so many compliments. It was truely unique and so me. Alterations by Natasha were amazing, I can't believe how I was able to take the huge ballgown that the dress started as and turn it into the figure-flattering dress that was perfect for my destination wedding! She was extremely flexible for my half-dozen fitting appointments to get my dress just right; even staying late on Friday nights just to wait for me when my bus from Philadelphia was late on more than one occasion. It was a totally different dress and just perfect - exactly what I was looking for and dreaming of!

Designer Loft provided a great wedding dress shopping experience. They were one of few boutiques that sold Rosa Clara and Aire Barcelona dresses and just so happen to be having a trunk show the weekend I was in town. After visiting about 20 other boutiques in 4 other states, I was able to find the exact dress I wanted for the BEST price I had seen. I travelled to the boutique alone since I was travelling with my fiancé and when I had "my moment" the team was there to celebrate and comfort me.

The dress arrived exactly the time they said it would and didn't really need any alterations. The whole team was nice to work with and made my experience very memorable. I LOVED my dress and the shopping experience will always be special to me.

I came to this boutique about three times--each time to look at the same dress that found me. I had been elsewhere and felt completely overwhelmed by the "pick it yourself" aspect of two other boutiques I had gone to and found it a huge turn off.

So I came back here--each time I looked at the same Janet Nelson Kumar dress. I originally had a very different dress in mind, but there was the dress--on the rack--asking me to try it on.

The 3rd time I went back to try on the same dress, it was no longer there. The designer herself had picked it up so that she could re-work the sample. Seeing me crestfallen, the ladies of the boutique actually called Janet and asked her to bring back the sample! I made another appointment, and two days later Janet herself came in with the MORNING GLORY sample for me to try on.

Well. As I said, my dress found me. I am not only petite, but I have a short torso. And Janet is what I would call “old-school”. The dress was made to fit my exact dimensions. This is not a factory-made dress—which had it been, the seamstresses who work at the boutique would have had to completely dismantle the dress to shorten the torso.

I had a really good experience here and was greeted with friendly smiles and good humor. I’d recommend this place in a heart beat.

So happy to have chosen Designer Loft. My favorite part is the size of the salon, it feels like you're visiting a small boutique. So much better than the bigger salons where you have to wait for attention. Designer loft feels like youre working directly with the designer. I purchased a Cristiano Lucci Gown which made me feel like a dream. So happy with Designer Loft's services, they were so helpful with the fitting and made sure i was happy with the fit.

I bought my wedding dress at a Designer Loft sample sale and had a really painless experience. I had actually had a regular appointment at the store the day before, and just did't find anything that was quite...me. But my MOH, mom and I showed up early for the sample sale and found my dream dress. We even got a cleaning thrown in for free. They were fantastic with doing a few minor fixes for free when we came to check it out before picking up. Full disclosure, I didn't do alterations here because of their mixed reviews on this front but for purchasing a dress I couldn't recommend them highly enough.

I bought a dress from Designer Loft in October 2013 for my wedding in May. The owner was able to give me a discount as I puprchased it during the trunk show. The dress was gorgeous (well, I think every bride says it, lol). Service was good, alterations required 4 meetings. Natasha is a great professional in alterations and she met all of my requirements. My only copmlain was the fact that the dress was ready only on the night right before my wedding (I came in the morning a day before the wedding to pick it up and the length has not been altered, as they claimed, they forgot). But they hurried up to do it! My second BIG complain was the veil: it was complimentary with my dress and i never knew i had to check the way it's made because on the day of the wedding my hairdresser had to do magic to make it look nice (the veil wasnt even on the comb). All in all, everything was ok and if you are looking for a good deal for Rosa Clara or Aire Barcelona, go there!

I purchased my wedding gown from Designer Loft a few months back, a sample sale gown by Alexis Georgio.

On the day of our appointment, we were greeted in their 2nd floor space and given free reign to peruse through their racks of dresses while their sales person (I forget her name, short blond hair, super friendly) also pulled some dresses. She was really helpful and immediately picked up on the style I was going for.

The only issues I ran into were after I purchased the dress -- I also paid to have the dress dry cleaned and small fixes made (few beads had fallen off) and when they called for me to pick up the dress after a few weeks it clearly had not been touched -- no dry cleaning or fixing of beading, etc. This actually happened TWICE -- the first time I noticed it in the studio and told them immediately, but the second time I had to return the dress to them after getting it all the way home which was really annoying as it's not easy getting around NYC with a wedding gown.

I'm honestly not sure to this day if they actually dry cleaned the dress, as it seemed to be in the same exact plastic wrap through the entire process but oh well!

Anyway, it was still WAY LESS than most gowns go for, SO, I would recommend them but advise that you have to be vigilant about calling them and making sure things get taken care of. If they were a little more professional post-sales they would get 5 stars all around. I'd still recommend them to a friend though for the bargain!

I drove 5 hours to shop for dresses in NYC, The only concern I have with this establishment is the way they treat you when you are a younger bride. My first impression of the place was a bad one. "When don't do prom", was all she said, I am happy that I considered even staying there. They turned out to be wonderfull and I love every dress I tried on. I would recommend this place but FYI .. Do make an appointment, they weren't pleased with me. But I love my dress and It turned out to be a great experience

I ended up with a perfect gown however the fittings were a nightmare. They were accomodating, but I think maybe between the dress fabric and seamstress, it was a bit more challenging. They were very understanding, but it still added a lot of stress. Love how the dress ended up looking and wouldn't change my choice if I had to again. Liz is a sweetheart :-)

I bought my wedding dress at Designer Loft when I was visiting from out of town. They had the one I had previously tried on and I'm so glad I went to Designer Loft to buy it. I went on a Friday morning so we were the only ones there, and Elly was extremely helpful and patient with us - letting me try the same dresses multiple times. I couldn't make a decision that day so they let me come back on Sunday to buy the dress I wanted, which I did. Their shop is adorable and they have a really wide selection. The only thing I would've changed is telling them an earlier wedding date. I bought my dress in December and told them my wedding was in October. Elly told me it would take 4-5 months, so I expected to get it in April or May. By mid-May I hadn't heard anything from them so I called and they told me it was on it's way. After plenty of follow-up calls, they told me that they place the order depending on the wedding date, not when you order the dress. I guess it doesn't pay to plan ahead and buy your dress early then. I didn't end up getting my dress until mid-July, and I know I still had plenty of time, I just wish they would've told me 7-8 months in the first place and it would've saved me a lot of worry.

I liked Designer Loft, but you don't always get the best service over the phone. In person, however, they treated me like a star. (And I wasn't always the easiest person to deal with, to be honest.) I got a Jenny Packham dress, and they had all the accessories I wanted (NOT cheesy ones either!) for a great price and looked fab on my wedding day. I had my doubts about the dress though - but remember: they don't do exchanges, or returns. So be SURE when you're buying. I would go back & recommend my friends.

At the end of the day, my dress was beautiful, but it was a stressful road to get there. When I first visited Designer Loft, I thought their selection was outstanding - really unique dresses that weren't a fortune. I live in Chicago, but bought my dress in New York. I ordered a dress that was to be made in Spain and I was told I would be called when it arrived so I could fly in for my fittings. A month or two later, I received a call that my dress was ready. So, I flew from Chicago to New York for my fitting. Upon arrival, they take the dress out of the box and its completely the wrong color! I obviously wasn't going to alter the wrong color dress, so they said they would call me in a few days once they sorted this out with the Spanish designer. I was freaking out at this point, because the wedding was approaching and I didn't have a dress. Then I received word that the dress doesn't even come in the color I ordered! (Keep in mind that I have already paid in full for my dress and veil - which were two different colors). As a solution, they told me that they would custom make the dress and "I would never know the difference." Well, believe it or not, they were right. They emailed me pictures at every step of the dress making process to show me how it was coming along and when I flew back to New York again, I looked at the dresses side by side and really could not tell the difference. The dress was beautiful and they turned what could have been a disaster into a great solution. My only real gripe is that I wish they would have caught the color mistake early in the process so I didn't have to waste airfare and hotel for a fitting that never happened. They ended up comp-ing all the alterations.

I was looking for a Rosa Clara dress and this was one of the few or only local places that carried them. I had an excellent experience looking for a dress. Ellie was so kind and helpful and I didn't feel any of the pretentiousness or pressure that I felt at the other bridal salons. I was totally comfortable and felt that I ended up with a great deal on a dress that I absolutely loved, after trying on many at several different salons.

I would totally recommend shopping for your dress here- - HOWEVER, I was very unhappy with my alterations. My dress was still too big on me on the day of my wedding, despite my expressing concerns numerous times about it being too loose around the bust, waist, etc. They kept telling me that it was fine and I listened because I didn't really know any better, but looking back (and looking now at my wedding pictures!), the alterations were definitely subpar (and yet still expensive) and the dress was not fitted to me anywhere close to how it should have been.

Underwhelmed by the dresses under $2500. The consultant bruised my back with a clip which was really painful. Lighting in the fitting rooms made my size 4 frame look pregnant. Not the most confidence boosting atmosphere.
