Great food! Wonderful Service!

Designed Events impressed us from the Menu Tasting through our Wedding Reception! Mark surprised us by not only bringing linens (we forgot to order linens for the buffet tables) but he also brought some greens to dress up the buffet line. Our guests commented on the high quality of the food. We are very happy with the service we received from Designed Events!!

Wonderful food!

Mark and John are wonderful! We had the chicken Marsala at our wedding and it was phenomenal. They truly put so much thought and effort into their menu. We would recommend Designed Events to anyone needing catering services!

So Amazing!

Personalization to a T

John and Mark HAVE to be the best in Jacksonville! This is the second wedding they have catered for me and there is a reason. They are exceptional when it comes to food and design. They are always concerned with your needs and end everything with, "don't worry, we will take care of it". If you haven't already booked these professionals, what are you waiting for?
I have gotten text after text of how wonderful the reception was and the food. They even got juice boxes for the kids and offered chicken fingers!! If I had another daughter, they would be my choice again! The day was magnificent, the service was extraordinary! Thank you again John and Mark and God Bless You!!

Competent, Personable, Amazing

Karma? Grace in all that is Holy?!
Imagine arranging a destination wedding….
I asked my friends on Face Book and a high school friend responded.
Orange Park? I spent too much time looking for local caterers. A mere 23 miles away was
Designed Event in Jacksonville.
The food was amazing. The staff was amazing. The cost in comparison to anything you’d find in NJ, was half.
John took care of everything, he told me to arrive and know it would all be set up!
I will upload pics when I get them from the photographer.
I felt compelled to tip the staff over and above what was included in our contract.
That is exactly how wonderful of a day they presented.

The best in northern and central Florida, hands down

We can't say enough good things about Designed Events, which was recommended to us by a top-notch restaurant that could not cater our event - let's just say we're grateful they were booked! We asked Mark and John for a St. Augustine/Florida-themed menu and approach, and they gave us all of that and more. We had guests who flew in from Europe who were blown away by it, and went home with great memories and a unique taste of Florida. Best catering staff we've ever seen as well - no guest's glass was empty, no request ignored. We book them again in a heartbeat.

Prefect reception

My daughter wanted a party like feel at her wedding. It was being held at a local brewery. John and Mark were wonderful to work with.They were flexible ,dependable and came up with the prefect menu for our budget. Would recommend them to everyone and use them again.

UH-MAZING all around

When I tell you I am in love with Mark and John is an understatement. These two are amazing. We had to reschedule our tasting probably 5 times throughout the pandemic and just simply life getting in the way; they were so understanding through every step and honestly so helpful (with even more than just catering), and even had recommendations for other vendors as well. Now to the food.... everything is to die for. When I tell you people are still talking to us about how amazing our food was at the wedding, people were going back 2 and 3 times for more food! We had nothing left to take home even with a large amount of people who didn’t end up showing up. Even our other vendors who received vendor meals made comments about how amazing the food was. I am SO OVERJOYED we decided to go with designed events for our wedding. Seriously, you need to hire them for any event your having..

Amazing Food & Service!

We are so glad that we worked with Mark and John at Designed Events to cater our wedding reception. They were very easy to work with throughout the planning process. When I initially reached out about our wedding reception, I couldn’t give them very specific direction on what I wanted served at my wedding, so they proposed a menu based on my wedding venue and tastes. From there they were very accommodating to my requests to customize the menu to perfect it even more. We also upgraded our mixer bar to include mojitos as our signature drink. The food and mojitos were a huge hit and we got so many compliments from our guests. They made sure that the food in our buffet line was presented beautifully which was such a nice touch. Finally, the service they (and their staff) provided on the day of was amazing as well. I wholeheartedly recommend them.

Such great service!

The guys at Designed Events were so great. The tasting was such a fun experience, so we knew they would do everything they could to make us happy at our wedding. Our guests raved about the food. I was a little upset because they didn't serve the amazing mushroom sauce we tried with the beef at our tasting, but nevertheless, the food was incredible and everyone loved it! They served 250 guests buffet style in under 30 minutes. The presentation was beautiful. The bartenders were quick and made great drinks. You hardly knew the servers were there. And they even served our late night snack for us. These guys are amazing and will go above and beyond for you! We're so glad we went with Designed Events for our wedding and would recommend them in an instant.

Designed Events Catering is hands down The Best in Town. We worked together on every detail of my wedding menu. We got married on July 19, 2019. We still receive text and calls about the food. We wanted a traditional meal with a southern twist. My co-workers are still talking about the collard green won tons and crab cake hors d'oeuvres during cocktail hour. We had to add Shrimp & Grits to our main course. My family declares it was the best Shrimp & Grits they've ever had. It's hard to make chicken that good for that many people The chicken breast were flavorful and juicy. The Jack Daniels pork tenderloin was so tender the groom thought it was ham. The staff was attentive, friendly and very professional. John and Mark (owners) made the entire process stress free. I was confident their company would make my dream meal a reality. I was RIGHT!!! The food was wonderful!!! I can go on and on about Designed Events Catering. I give this company my HIGHEST recommendation. You won't be disappointed.

Yummmmmmmmy!

Designed Events was absolutely everything we ever wanted in a caterer...and more!! John was so responsive to my emails, even when things were changing within the same week of the wedding, he had me covered.
We were doing a destination wedding so we never got to taste the food ahead of time, but being vegetarians, when we saw the spread he suggested for our wedding, our jaws dropped. It was mouth watering even hundreds of miles away!
The staff was so incredibly friendly and professional, it was so lovely. Our guests raved about the food, even though we had several meat-eaters in our family, none of them were unsatisfied with the all-veggie/fish menu! They kept raving at how delicious everything was!
The best part of Designed Events that really set them apart from other vendors was the fact that they didn't treat our dietary request as just another run of the mill boring diet. They jazzed up the menu so much and provided so many options, enough to really please every pallet.
We are SO happy that we booked with Designed Events!!! Thank you!!!

10/10 perfection! Way beyond your average "wedding food"

Wow where to start.. what an incredible company & group of professionals. From our initial emails, and meetings, numerous phone calls and tasting, Mark and John were extremely responsive and very very accomodating to everything we wanted for our big day. Alice is a phenomenal chef and they created a menu that many many many guests are talking about even after the wedding. They were extremely friendly, punctual and their food is TOP QUALITY. That is what we loved most. They created a special menu just for us. We did a family style for over 135 guests and everything went perfect. We decided to do an Italian Wedding soup after our salad, and HOLY SMOKES IT WAS THE BEST IVE EVER HAD. We heard numerous comments throughout the night saying "This is not your average wedding food...can we get the recipes?". For weeks following we are still receiving compliments on our delicious our food was. It was something different than your traditional buffet or plated, and it was worth every penny! The steak was perfectly cooked, the bread warm and soft, soup large portion and very unique, the shrimp cooked to perfection with a dash of spice and the veggies and pasta complimented the proteins perfectly. Their staff was very friendly, dressed professionaly, never was there a dirty dish or glass left on the table. They were very considerate during speeches and always ensuring we had everything we needed throughout the night. I couldn't have asked for a better caterer for our wedding. Thank you all so much for being a HUGE part of our wedding day and the dream it was!

Outstanding food!

Mark & John and their team did such an amazing job at our wedding. From presentation to taste to service it was top notch. I first went to them with an idea of a large antipasto table and chef pasta station. They made that idea come to life and our guests raved about it. The display was fantastic!

When I started to plan my daughter's wedding I asked the venue coordinator a simple question... "Who is the BEST caterer you know and who would you hire for your daughter's wedding?" Without hesitation she replied, "If it were me I would only used Designed Events". Well, that was certainly some of the best advice I took navigating my way thru the planning of a very formal wedding. Mark and John are NOT your ordinary caterers....really more of a personal chef and concierge team.
They get it...Working with them was an incredible experience and joyful event as we meticulously crafted an awesome menu. And the results? It truly was a 5 star dining experience in every way. We are beyond grateful to them and their team for the exceptional service and food they provided. Highly highly recommend!

I hired their catering services for our rehearsal dinner that we hosted at a hotel. They were so reasonable, professional, and provided excellent services to our guest. Designed Events really know what they are doing when it comes to food! Everything was cooked fresh on site, tasted perfectly and we even had left overs the next day! They seriously delivered. The appetizers were delicious and the main courses were talked about all night long. They were easy to work with, super friendly and as I said everything they prepared was perfect. Their staff were extremely accommodating and laid back. They provided a special entree for just myself and the groom as we don't eat meat but wanted all the other meat-eaters to enjoy themselves. They even packaged up the left over food and left it in the refrigerator on site (private residence) for us to each the next day. I highly recommend them!

If I had to sum up our experience with Mark and John of Designed Events in just one word it would have to be: Perfection! From our first tasting, where we were not only crazy about their food, but instantly felt at ease with what we knew would be perfect execution of our wedding to the pre-wedding appointments where they were fully invested in making sure the layout of our venue space was perfect to the day of our wedding where they treated our guests like royalty, the attention to detail, the professionalism, everything was completely 100% with these guys!! Our guests have been raving about our food, even now a week later! The service staff were absolutely amazing, always there with exactly what every guest needed, so kind and helpful and professional – they were seriously everything! If you are looking for high quality food, that is made with pride and attention to detail, if you are looking for your guests to be well taken care of, if you’re looking for the best, then you have found them!! I don't even know where to begin. I know many of you are reading through so many reviews but please take a second and hear me out.... planning your wedding is tough. especially when you don't know how everything will turn out on the big day. I am freshly back from my honeymoon and here is where I stand.... The planning process with John and Mark was easy, yet detailed. I loved that they heard our vision but molded the menu into a 5 star dining experience. The tasting they offered in the beginning gave you a great idea of what to expect. They are not just any caterers. They are passionate about their business and their art. Leading up to the big day, I was emailing them with question and last minute changes and they accommodated quickly and helped guide my indecisive mind. Which leads us to the main event... EVERY single person I spoke to that attended the wedding was floored by how incredible the food was. So many kept saying they are so used to the food at weddings being so-so and nothing special but not ours. Designed Events! Designed Events! Designed Events. I could not scream their name enough. They are incredible and I will definitely be recommending anyone I know to them, as well as hopefully using them in the future. Thank you guys for truly making our day special. We love you guys!

Not only was the food absolutely delicious but it was beautifully presented! I LOVED everyone at designed events especially Jon he is just the sweetest. I would book them for any event in the future and appreciate everything they did to help make our day the best day ever. All of our guests tell us how it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding!!

Designed Events catered my daughters St. Augustine wedding a few weeks ago and I can't say enough great things about them. Guests are still contacting us raving about the food. They put together such a unique, fresh menu, not typical wedding food. From the appetizers to desserts, it was all phenomenal and the quality was equal to that of any fine dining establishment.. Everyone wants to know how they cooked the turkey and beef tenderloin because it was truly the best we've ever had! And not only was the food incredible, just dealing with Mark and John was so easy. From our very first conversation one year prior to the wedding, right down to the day of the wedding, was just a great experience. Even during the last week when I bombarded them with 100 emails, they responded quickly and really put me at ease. Thank you so much Designed Events....you knocked it out of the ballpark!!

Designed Events was the caterer for my daughter's wedding last weekend. To be honest, I chose Designed Events after a couple of recommendations, I didn't really do a lot of research. I've never been to a wedding where the food was very memorable, so it really wasn't one of my top priorities. From the beginning, Mark & John were very easy to work with and they helped me select a simple yet sophisticated menu. At the wedding reception I was so impressed with the professionalism, the beautiful presentation of the food, the speed of service, and last but not least, the delicious food! My husband and I were truly shocked at how great the food was - it was not your typical wedding fare. In the days since the wedding, family & friends have continued to mention the delicious meal when they talk about the wedding. I couldn't be more pleased! I have a younger daughter, so when the time comes for her wedding, I will surely work with them again.

Designed Events catered my wedding on 11/21/15 and I have experienced their service at several other events. The team at DE goes above and beyond! They are not your traditional caterers and it was certainly not your “typical” wedding food. The menu was tailored to our needs and liking and was the quality that you would expect from a high end restaurant. They checked in with me several times before the wedding to make sure everything was taken care of before the event. The day of, the food was amazing and just as I remembered it from our tasting appointment. Mark made sure to come and check on me the day of to make sure I was satisfied with everything. All of their staff is extremely kind and went above and beyond to ensure our day was perfect. All of our guests raved about the food and commented on how nice the staff was. In addition to the amazing food and service, their prices are very reasonable compared to other caterers. You will not be disappointed if you chose Designed Events for your catering needs!

Designed Events did an OUTSTANDING job at our wedding. We read stunning reviews of the food and service from this company so we were hoping they would be available for our big day. The first time meeting John & Mark at the tasting we were immediately welcomed into their beautiful store front and were blown away by the food we tried. They were great with food recommendations and pairings. They even helped us determine alcohol amounts to purchase since we were providing our own.

These guys are AMAZING! All of their staff was so friendly and helpful on the day of the wedding. While we were taking pictures after the ceremony, we could smell the steaks being cooked at the venue and it smelled AMAZING! All of our guests RAVED about how amazing the food was for the appetizers, salads, and the MAIN EVENT. The surf and turf, steak and shrimp combo was delicious and our vegan friends/family were very impressed with the vegan plate option! The presentation was absolutely beautiful; like artwork on a plate. The mark of an impressive caterer is how well the steaks were prepared for 113 guests!! Everyone at my table noted the steaks were cooked perfectly (And we have some picky eaters in our group). :) That Chimichurri sauce is TO DIE FOR!

Designed Events ALSO had the most excellent idea of booking Kilwin's for a Ice Cream Sundae bar which was such a special treat for our ice cream loving families.

If you want food that is DELICIOUS, served to perfection with folks that have the warmest and most fun loving personalities, then Designed Events is absolutely who you should call for all of your wedding/events/catering needs.

On a personal note, we so enjoyed how Mark and John made myself, my husband, and my parents feel like part of their family. Good food and service is one thing, but having such a personable connection with the caterer makes the big day even more special. They provided top of the line service and food and I will always recommend them very highly.

I am still dreaming of the food served throughout our wedding day, and it has been over two months since I had a bite of the delicious offerings! My husband and I were completely overwhelmed by the wonderful meal served at our wedding. Designed Events knows what they are doing when it comes to catering an event-- their reputation is impeccable and through our experiences, it is evident as to why! I was so very impressed by each aspect of the menu-- everything from the hors d'oeuvre to the buffet! I primarily interacted with mark, and the ease in which him and his team worked to continuously consult and re-work the menu to ensure we would satisfy our diverse guests' tastes, while also accommodating my husband's picky eater tendencies. They managed to create the perfect menu!! We opted a buffet option and Designed Events ensured that the food was hot and fresh just as it would have been prepared for a plated meal, but the staff of Designed Events managed to get all of our Guests through the line in record time! I could talk about the food for days... and find myself referencing it most days; however, it is necessary to say that the only thing that could rival the wonderful taste and presentation of food would be the service. As I mentioned, Mark's detail and response to all of our questions made us feel that we were his sole focus (we recognize that Designed Events is a highly in-demand group, and we were most certainly not the only client); however, it was more than just providing food for one-day. I think the occasion that most exemplifies their level of service is when we were having some difficulty finding a florist. Not only did Mark recommend a florists, but he physically drove my mom, sister-in-law and me to the florist's shop and sat with us throughout the whole consultation. His dedication to our event was truly appreciated, and we will most definitely keep Designed Events in mind for any future events and highly recommend the caterer to any other couple!

Locating an exceptional caterer for our daughter’s wedding reception was a must, as we wanted our guests to be served a meal they would remember! Designed Events exceeded our expectations! Even though the wedding was two months ago, our guests are still RAVING about the FABULOUS FOOD…..from the hors d’ oeuvres served butler style through the beautifully presented buffet dinner! They spent countless hours helping us customize our menu as they offer a wide variety of selections. Though we worked mostly with Mark, both he and John made us feel as though we were their only clients, which is far from the truth! Now, we know why Designed Events is in so high demand….their food and service are second to none! A bonus for us is that they are very familiar with River House in St. Augustine, so they were totally at home while preparing the most delicious food EVER!!! Their attention to detail and their surroundings helped create the ‘dream’ reception for our daughter and her husband.

I can't say enough wonderful things about my experience with John and Mark at Designed Events ... everything was SPECTACULAR! From the kindness and professionalism to the attention to detail, they were incredible. The food, however, stole the show! With the most unique and beautiful presentation, each and every dish at my daughter's wedding reception was perfect and delicious. I can't say enough good things about these guys. They bent over backwards to accommodate last minute issues and the food was amazing. I had tried them at another reception I went to and gave them a shot and the dreaded first meeting was relaxed, informative and we knew by the time we left that they would help make my daughter's day spectacular. And...they did NOT disappoint! They pay such attention to detail. My only regrets are that we did not know about them 3 years ago when our other daughter got married.

They also handled the bar service for our venue and the bartenders were awesome! We provided the liquor, and they provided everything else including pleasant service to all of our guests. I have a friend that has asked for recommendations and I proudly gave Designed Events information.

Our School has been working with Designed Events for the last several years, using their catering services for function sizes ranging from small groups to large gala dinners for 300. Mark and John provide a wonderful experience for the customer. They excel at creating interesting and creative dishes while using their vast knowledge to ensure that the menu will be well-executed and well-received. These caterers are simply the best. Mark sold us when he listened to our broad thoughts and then ran with planning a menu. He could describe exactly how everything was prepared and even where the ingredients were sourced. I could not imagine better food or service from anyone. All the wait staff were professional and fun. Everyone is still talking about the best wedding food ever. Now if I could just figure out where I could use them again, I would do it in a heartbeat. Where do I begin to sing their praises!? Mark shine, John and Rosemary are the most fabulous team with the most incredible supportive staff. Designed Events didn't do my wedding but did a huge grand opening for my company. We had a 3 day event with everything from a nice upscale event with food for realtors to a cookout for our employees. As the wedding planner, it was an honor to work with the staff at DEI. Their professionalism is beyond reproach. From the tasting, to the rentals to the food and event services, Mark and the DEI staff exceeded every expectation. The bride, groom and their guests were made to feel like royalty with butler served Hors d' Oeuvres, Marketplace Display and a beautifully appointed buffet setting. Designed Events is FANTASTIC!!! I immediately from the first meeting knew both of them knew exactly what they were talking about, and how to "cater" to my every want and need!! The tasting was unbelievable, and I knew I was going to get an amazing meal on my wedding night. They did not disappoint on our special day!! We plan to throw a party soon just so we can hire Mark and Designed Events. I swear any time a described a vision to Mark, he showed me exactly what I was looking for. We ended up using Designed Events for flowers, furniture, lighting and food for both the wedding and rehearsal dinner. All the guests raved about how delicious everything was. Mark and John at Designed Events are such a pleasure to work with! They are so attentive with unique, tasty menus and have been in the catering business long enough that they have many options to customize your table setting, glasses, and so forth. I interviewed a few caterers and part of the reason I went with Mark and John is their ability to provide so many of the services for the evening, including the bartending. All their servers were so nice and fun, and everyone enjoyed the food tremendously. I love Designed Events and I cannot recommend them more highly.

Designed Events went over and above for my wedding reception. I did a lot of research before picking a caterer, and I would make the same decision over again. Designed Events is the way to go!!!!! :)

I used Designed Events for my daughter's graduation party and everyone raved about the food and several people asked for their number. It was so easy. I walked in and the food had been set up in beautiful dishes each with serving spoons and the presentation was amazing. It was the EASIEST party I have EVER thrown. I HIGHLY recommend them.

The wedding reception is about the bride and groom but, more importantly, it is about the food and that is why we used Designed Events, Inc. The food is amazing and I'm still receiving compliments from guests about how great the food was; people especially liked the dessert table. Mark and John were wonderful to work with from the planning of the menu to making sure my groom and I had to-go boxes to take home wedding night (since we barely ate at the actual wedding, this was greatly appreciated). They even made sure the table decor matched the theme for my wedding. It looked and tasted wonderful! If I could re-do the wedding I would have them cater all over again. Amazing job!!

Designed Events did such a beautiful job from the buffet table decorations to the food. We had so many compliments on the food. The menu was very different from any wedding I have been to and it made my daughter's wedding a memorable one. Thank you John and Mark for making my daughter's wedding a wonderful memory!! I hope to use you again in the future.

My husband and I searched high and low for a great caterer and we are so glad we stuck it out until we found Designed Events! My husband has Celiacs and he cannot eat gluten or dairy. Mark and his team gladly stepped up to the challenge and created dishes that were delicious for him and all our guests. He even reached out to local vendors to get gluten free bread for sliders on our menu! My guests raved about our hor d'oeurve menu. Designed Events developed a menu that worked with our small budget but still fed people what felt like a full sit down dinner. They were very professional and flexible through the planning process and the day of. I would highly recommend Designed Events to anyone looking for an amazing caterer!

John & Mark with Designed Events to a wonderful job! The food is delicious and the service is top notch (great staff!). I trust them to execute a fabulous event and they keep me (the host) stress free. I've used them for several events over the past 4.5 years and will continue to work with them.

John & Rosemary are so pleasant to work with -- very accomadating and they seem to understand what I am looking for very easily. This takes a big burden off me and I know they will give me and my event the perfect touch! I had not been able to attend the last two events they catered for me so left them in charge with what needed to be done and got great feedback from those that attended. I have confidence in there execution and delivery of their delicious food and services!

You put together a menu that was exactly what we were looking for to fit our fall theme. The responsiveness to my original request and the menu was better than anyone else that I contacted for this event. The food was fresh and delicious. Designed Events is the cream of the crop catering company. The guest are still ranting and raving about how amazing the food was at my wedding. Mark and John exceeded me and my husband expectations! DEI is a wonderful company to hire for your event, especially for a wedding. John was very helpful and constantly went above and beyond what I hired him to do. Before my wedding, I did not have any experience with planning a wedding. John gave me wonderful advice on food and on the flow of my wedding. He designed my room layout and took care a lot things that he didn't even have to. He is a truly wonderful guy to work with. John and his staff honestly care about you and your big day, and do everything they can to make it what you want. On top of all this, John was able to cater to my tight budget and still provide me with top quality service. I wouldn't go with any other catering company. Thank you so much John and the DEI staff!

Designed Events, Inc. catered our wedding on Cinco de Mayo this year. We were looking for a catering company that could serve us upscale Mexican food and these guys were the perfect fit. They are extremely nice and the food was amazing!! My guests along with my husband and I couldn't have been more pleased! All I can say is don't look any further because you have found your caterer with Designed Events! Mark and his staff went above and beyond any expectation that my husband and I could have ever had. And the food; the food was phenomenal! It was all I heard about the whole night and it's what I'm still hearing about days later. I've had people call me up that couldn't make it to the wedding saying how they heard the food was so good. Mark came up with a fantastic menu that was completely different from anything I had ever seen or tasted at a wedding. I would definitely recommend them to anyone!

We highly recommend Mark Shine and staff with Designed Events, Inc. We were bringing together Italian, Polish, and Jamaican families all for our wedding reception. We were a little nervous at first about being able to please everyone's individual tastes. Once I found Mark Shine with Designed Events our concerns were immediately put to rest. After one conversation with Mark and after having our tasting we knew that our wedding reception food was going to be the talk of the evening. Mark managed to incorporate all the different cultures and was very knowledgeable regarding the food selections. Mark and his staff have extreme professionalism and attention to detail. Our wedding was a month ago and people are still talking about how wonderful the food was at our reception and we know that they will be talking for making more years to come because many of our guests have expressed that our food at the reception was the best food that they have ever had at a wedding!

I didn't get a chance to tell you and your staff what an exceptional job you did! It is such a peasure to find a company that can come in and not have to be 'managed'. Amazing choices

We planned a buffet style reception.. Designed Events helped with customizing our menu and bar. After a few months of finalizing our menu I had found out that I had a gluten issue. They were totally understanding and made our buffet Gluten Free! I would recommend them to anyone wanting to design their own menu with the help of Designed Events... you wont be dissapointed!!
