We decided to work with Nyika because she stood far out from the rest. We ended hiring her for decor and on the day coordination and she even helped with some of the planning with no complaints. She was present every step of the way with flexible timing like late nights which was the best for us. Her price was unbeatable and responsiveness was beyond expectations. Almost like she became a friend during the process and no matter how much I bugged her she always remained humble, attentive and helpful. She made us feel so special like we were her only clients (she had many others lol). On the day I met the rest of her team and they were just as sweet and easy to work with as her. Everything we asked for was done and more, making our day so much more special. Nyika you are now more than a wedding planner to us and we look forward to working with you again. From start to finish, my experience with my wedding planner NYIKA was nothing short of exceptional. Planning a wedding in Jamaica while based in England could have been stressful, but she made the entire process feel effortless.
There was truly nothing too big or too small for her to handle. She was always calm, pleasant, and incredibly patient, which made such a difference during the planning process. Her attention to detail is unmatched, and she brought so many amazing ideas to life, things I wouldn’t have even thought of myself.
She is so easy to work with, genuinely listens, and really understands your vision. I always felt heard, supported, and completely at ease knowing everything was in her hands. She is incredibly trustworthy, which is so important when planning from abroad.
Her team was just as amazing - professional, organised, and clearly a reflection of her high standards. Together, they truly made magic happen.

Where to start! Nyika and her team are the most professional and we have absolutely not one regret of using her service. From planning to execution, seamless! Not one guest had a complaint and most of all, us as the bride and groom, we were overly pleased. Nyika is one of the easiest person to communicate with…always responding to our messages and call in a timely manner.
What we liked and appreciated the most is that when it came to decision making, she always included us and asked our opinion without pushing her preferences on us; we always had a say.
She is also patient and works in a timely manner simultaneously, she gave us time to rethink and if we had to make a change last minute, she was always accommodative, she would always reassure us by saying “ I am very flexible so don’t be afraid to let me know the changes that you want” absolutely amazing.
Her work omg guys! It is breathtaking, unimaginable and overly satisfying. Her work literally speaks for itself. Being organized is an understatement for her. I know this may sound too perfect, but mark my words, she is perfect person to make your dream wedding come through. You can choose her to plan all your events with your eyes closed. 😌 AMAZINGGGGG.

Nyika was absolutely amazing and we wish that every couple planning their wedding in
Jamaica sees this and believes us when we say, "Look no further" when searching for
wedding decor, wedding day coordinator or an overall wedding planner.
Meeting Nyika:
We found Nyika on IG and reached out to her around February for a June wedding. From
the first conversation we knew we would hire her when we heard her passion for what
she does. Nyika's sharp and fluent responses to our questions captured us. She
sounded like a true professional who knows her job and values her clients.
After we hired Nyika:
We hired Nyika for decor and wedding day coordinator and we were impressed time after
time throughout the process.
Great communication and timely responses to phone calls and text messages.
Clear and detailed quotation invoice with reasonable prices.
She understood our vision and offered valid suggestions.
Great Collaboration with other vendors (Venue, Officiant, Cake decorator, Photographer
etc.).
Wedding Execution:
Nyika showed up at the venue the day before to unload decor and do a short but well
instructed rehearsal. This was the first time we were meeting in person and she was
everything we heard over the phone. She showed up early on the wedding day to start
setting up and was ready to roll on time. The entire decor was well executed from
ceremony to cocktail hour and reception to after party. Simple but elegant, exactly the
way we wanted it. Everything went smoothly without a bump and we wouldn’t do it any
other way or with anyone else.
To witness Nyika’s work in person was way better than we’re able to articulate. It was
more than a pleasure and we’re happy we chose Design VUs by Nyika. -

The most attentive, committed Planner
Nykia was recommended to me by a friend. I immediately spoke with her and looked no further, I was sold. She is very detailed, attentive, responsive and committed to what she does. As we are based in the UK, my daughter and her now husband wanted someone they could trust. After speaking to many wedding planners in Jamaica, they decided on Nyika. A relief and the best decision.
The reasons: Nyika is transparent, honest, realistic, listens, and actually hears, works within the budget available, contributes positively with suggestions, responds quickly to messages, extremely professional and calm throughout the process. Nyika is an exceptional planner and a part time angel on earth. I worked with Nyika for over a year planning the details of my wedding. She was able to provide recommendations for venues, vendors and work to find packages that were within the budget. Nyika is down to earth, realistic and authentic.
A few days prior to my wedding, Jamaica was affected by a hurricane. I was in distress, Nyika however kept me calm, assured me all would be well and allowed me a shoulder to cry on (literally!). Despite all the challenges leading up to the wedding, everything was beautiful, beyond my imagination and expectations. Nyika created an oasis that allowed me and my husband to forget about all the circumstances leading up to the day, and allowed us to immerse ourselves and enjoy our day.
We can’t thank Nyika and her team enough for all of their efforts, for taking on every challenge, no matter how difficult.

Let me start by saying all the reviews you see on Nyika are all true! She is truly one of the best out there and makes you feel special. Not only did she save our wedding, but she took my vision and made it better than I could have ever imagined. After spending months trying to work with planners who came with good recommendations from Facebook groups and Instagram we were struggling to find a good fit due to our 6-month timeline (which I wouldn't recommend having in general) and feeling like we were just a money grab to some planners. Then Nyika was recommended to us. This was the best turning point in our wedding. I was able to tell her our budget and vision and she worked her magic! She was available when we needed her, kept us on time with planning and even was able to help me with my last-minute decisions. Nyika was recommended to me by a family member and It was the best recommendation I’ve received! I was already following Nyika on Instagram but just assumed I couldn’t afford her because her work was so nice LOL!
I reached out to her last minute ( 4 months) before my wedding & you would have thought we’ve been talking for years. She was so sweet & down to earth. She asked if she could take the wedding decor in her hands and I immediately told her yes! I trusted her just from the little time speaking with her lol. I just felt it in my spirit that she would do an amazing job! It can be stressful planning a wedding overseas, but to be honest this far from stressful! I stressed more about my guest list than the actual wedding itself lol. It went so smooth!

The team was amazing and made sure all the vendors worked seamlessly for my big day. If you're reading these reviews because you're not sure whether to hire Nyika and her team or not - this is your sign to do it. She made our wedding day EXCEPTIONAL. Not only was she extremely professional, but she was always calm, collected and patient no matter what - even when we experienced hiccups during the planning process. We had a long planning process (about a year) and Nyika was there for us every single step of it, day and night. She listened to our vision, always answered our calls and replied to our messages on time despite the time difference, and communicated to the vendors on our behalf. All vendors that she recommended provided excellent service, and all our guests wouldn't stop raving about how beautiful our wedding was - because she had everything under control. There's not enough words to express how grateful we are for Nyika and her crew for giving us the wedding of our dreams. A wedding planner that actually loves what she does
I remember speaking to several wedding planners and feeling defeated as one after another said my budget was too small. One day as I scrolled through instagram, the Lord brought me to Designvus by Nyika instagram page. I immediately contacted her and I remember telling her we don’t have that much money and we won’t be able to do a fancy wedding and she stopped me and said “No, you will have a fantastic wedding no matter your budget.” I was sold from that point. Nyika is very transparent and she tells you the prices of everything and will tell you what she believes is necessity and what she believes is optional. The choice is still yours but she will always go back to the budget and remind you of your priorities. Most people would want us to go big and choose the most expensive and fancy options she was always thinking of our best interest and always advocated on our behalf. It took us one year to plan our wedding and Nyika was with us every step of the way. She even made herself available to our family and wedding party who had questions. Our wedding was beautiful, we’re sure Nyika added more things than what we paid for. But that’s who she is, she wants your day to be beautiful and she won’t pressure you but if she sees something that can be done on the day to make the wedding look aesthetically pleasing…she’s going to get creative and get it done. Nyika and her team are amazing. Also we were in need of a ring bearer and we asked Nyika would she allow her son to be apart of the wedding and she said yes. He did a great job. He wowed the crowd with his unique routine. We hired a wedding planner but gained so much more. Nyika is family now. She treated our wedding as if it were her own. I would recommend Nyika and her team again and again and I look forward to her doing our anniversary party. Listen wedding planning isn’t easy and I thought I would’ve been able to do it by myself, I will be the first to admit that I was wrong and I’m glad I chose Nyika as our planner. If you want to start your wedding planning journey off right, hire Nyika and her team. You won’t regret it. She’s more than a five star wedding planner. She’s an amazing human being and we are blessed to have even been able to experience this beautiful of a person. Thank you Nyika, from Ruel, our family and myself. You did your thing girl!!!! My husband and I decided we wanted to get married in Jamaica, we have never been to Jamaica before. I didn’t even know where to begin during the planning process. I ran into Nyika on wedding wire and I contacted her. From the very beginning she has always been very responsive and reassuring. When we would speak she would always listen and she was able to work around our budget quite a bit. Even with a tight budget we were able to get everything we wanted with awesome vendors.
Overall Nyika made our night super special, she exceeded our expectations and more. They did an excellent job on the day of the wedding because we had to change plans because of the weather, we got crazy winds and the reception location had to change. They were totally flexible and everything turned out phenomenal. Our guests had an amazing time. Some guests said it was the best wedding they have ever been to, some called it epic.
Nyika, her crew and the vendors she recommended are all amazing. Give her your vision and she will turn it into reality. -

The Dream Team
Nyika and her team are THE BEST! from start to finish they did not disappoint. Nyika literally held my hand up until I had to walk down the aisle. Never panicked, never got upset at the amount of changes I made and ALWAYS answered a call even with a 17 hour time difference and on her birthday. She is an amazing person and her work speaks for itself. I loved my decor and had so many compliments. She suggested wonderful vendors and they all were professional and great to work with. Most importantly she is very honest and will not steer you wrong or try to rip you off. I NEVER leave reviews but Nyika, the Dj, MC and pastor she suggested exceeded my expectations! I would Recommend her and her team everyday! She’s going to go far, I can see it. So glad I was able to work with her! 💜💜

My Wedding Planner was not just a wedding planner......her professionalism was above and beyond normal. Everything was awe-inspiring
There is a saying that says "no expectations...no Disappointments....". My Expectations was above 100% and there was no Disappointments whatsoever. The execution in the planning of The Thompson's wedding was superb. I had no plan i only had the venue and one colour. Nyika did it all from finalizing the colours to giving us our dream wedding. Best Believe we are family and nyika maintained her professionalism i was not treated like a family i was treated like a client. Words can't explain how beautiful our wedding decor was. Everyone was in a aww moment because my dream came through. My first dance was inpressive i felt like i was dancing in the clouds. Best Believe i had my gender of my baby being revealed at my reception and it was well planned out by nyika. Nyika is the World's Best wedding Planner no other can contest. She executes, makes you comfortable and DELIVER!!!.

Dream come through!
#Awesome is the only word I can think of to describe Nyika. I was sold from our initial conversation. The most important thing is for you to trust your wedding planner. I knew our wedding would have been good BUT with my vision, Nyika's creative mind and her dream team (Big Up Rose the florist) we were blown away when we walked into our venue. The entire setting exceeded our expectations.
Nyika was tasked with full planning and she did EVERYTHING! We basically showed up for the wedding NO CAP! She was always reachable, super easy to talk to. Felt like I knew her all my life and I legit met her the eve of the wedding.

If You Can Dream It, They Will Deliver It
Nyika and her team are the absolute best at what they do. When I first reached out to Nyika, she was very responsive and professional. That was a good sign. I shared with her the vision that I had for my wedding and she was quick in sending me sample pictures of rentals available that would match my theme. She captured everything AND MORE that I envisioned for my big day. It was absolutely perfect. It was beyond anything I could've ever imagined.
Along with being the decorator, she was extremely helpful in the planning process. She walked me through everything that needed to be ready for the day. Again, I don't know what I'd do without her!

Nyika gave me an awesome experience ever since I met her.
Nyika is an angel sent in disguise! She was so professional and all her jobs were to die for. I met her on instagram and I remember liking her pics in the Middle of the night with no idea she would have responded. We immediately started to text and before you knew it we were on those late night phone calls. She placed so much time and effort before she even got the job. This assured me that Ms Taylor and her team was indeed the chosen one for this Job.
Nyika who I now address as my fairy God-mother made my husband and I dreams came trough. We were absolutely "beyond" pleased with her performance. My decor was everything I imagined. My guest were very impressed, they kept asking for her details and with no estimation I have been telling them all about her. Some guest even asked us to get married again because it was just too beautiful 😍.
Nyika played the role of a friend, sometimes my husband when he had enough 🤭, my confidant, my decorator, my coordinator and sooo much more !

Nyika was everything I could have asked for in a decorator/event planner. Planning a wedding during covid-19 and outside being in another country was harder than I thought it would be but from the moment I contacted her she came right in and changed it all. She guided me through everything while making it look so easy and was effective enough to ease alot of stress. She's so kind and thoughtful and treated me as if it was her little sister that was getting married. My decor was absolutely stunning and I was in total awe when I walked in, I couldn't believe it was my wedding!! Not to mention the bouquets omg! Her attention to detail and organization is top tier! Words cannot express the gratitude I have for Nyika. We began working with Nyika in 2020 and, that was the best decision that we could have made. Funny enough my husband found her on
instagram and said he loved her work. I was skeptical at first (as I only saw pictures) but, from the first conversation, I knew she was the one for us.
Nyika has been with us through the ups and downs. She encouraged us when we got frustrated through the pandemic and my gosh, did we change dates. She is efficient and is always available to answer any queries (or just simply be there to listen to my random ideas). My indecisive nature was tolerated to my pleasant surprise and no matter the hour she accommodated me. Sometimes I wondered if I was her only bride because of her commitment.
On our wedding day, it was pure joy to see all we desired come together- she's like a fairy godmother. When I look back at my pics from September 11, I marvel at the work the team put in- making my day what it is.
Hire her, you won't regret it!!!! She is certainly more than a planner but a friend that puts her all in making your dreams possible. -
