Highly recommend the DP team!

Jeff and the Design Perfection team were a dream to work with for my recent wedding at the Brooklyn Arts Center. The florals from my bouquet to the centerpieces down to the bud vases were perfection! It looked like they fell straight out of my vision board. The bar, chandeliers, draping, and ceiling greenery truly transformed the space into the wedding of my dreams. I cannot recommend the DP team more highly to any other Wilmington brides!

Easiest wedding day ever

Jeff with design perfection is amazing. He was struaght to the point in our meetings made everything easy. Even though I have the lowest package for planning it was amazing. Him and his team made the whole day seamless and made sure my groom and I were fed and hydrated! They were amazing even providing sparklers for our exit! It was so easy to know he set up everything and they were so so so kind!!

Dream team!

Design Perfection was an incredible addition to our vendor team! Jeff, Kenzie and the rest of their team was very kind, professional and helpful! From our very first meeting with Jeff (designer/florist), we knew our wedding would be beautiful! He is incredibly knowledgeable and offered guidance and suggestions throughout the entire process. When Covid hit, Jeff was very patient and flexible with us as we drastically changed our guest count, design vision and venue. He worked hard to bring our second vision to life, despite the changes and challenges associated with Covid-19. When we finally met Kenzie (coordinator), we knew we could put our trust in her to perfectly execute our wedding day! She was highly organized and efficient. On the day of our wedding, the remnants of Hurricane Delta passed through, forcing us to change venues (for the third time) on the DAY OF the wedding! Without missing a beat, the Design Perfection team moved into action. In a matter of hours, they built us a dream wedding in a completely new venue. We were blown away by how gorgeously decorated it was and how much it still aligned with our vision! Design Perfection is well worth the cost. They made our wedding day one that we and our guests will NEVER forget! We are so glad that we chose Design Perfection to be a part of our Dream Team!

More beautiful than I had imagined

Design Perfection was out of this world fantastic! They saw our vision for my daughter’s wedding and executed it flawlessly. Simply Stunning

We used Design Perfection for our daughter's wedding in March and the work they did was simply stunning. From the bouquets, to the hanging flowers, to the table arrangements, to the unbelievably beautiful floral arch at the entrance, it could not have been anymore perfect. The flowers were beyond amazing and it really was a fairy tale wedding. Our daughter, Katie was so, so happy and didn’t stop smiling all evening. We would highly recommend using Design Perfection for events in the Wilmington area....they are just great!

The best day

I hired Design Perfection for day of coordination, limited service planning, and floral design. They knocked it out of the park on all three. My wedding guests couldn't stop talking about how beautiful the flower arrangements were and the day of coordinators made sure my every need was completely taken care of. The planning process was seamless and any changes I wanted to make were immediately done. I didn't have to worry about anything the day of, because as soon as I spoke something out loud, there was someone working to make sure it happened. Wedding planning can be stressful, especially with a wedding guest list of 250+. They made everyone, myself included, feel calm and like everything was under control (because it was). I can't recommend their services enough!

Design Perfection will help make your big day PERFECT!

I hired DP for my day-of coordination and I could not have been more thrilled with the job they did!! HUGE shoutout to Chandler for answering a million questions for me throughout my entire wedding process and for being so responsive. Another HUGE shoutout to Ebony and Kenzie who made my wedding day PERFECT!! They executed my vision so well. They handled everything on the day-of and I was able to relax with my girls and enjoy the day. Ebony and Kenzie are so organized, kind, and professional. 10/10 would recommend DP for your coordination needs. You will be SO glad you did!!!

After my florist fell through a few months leading up to our wedding on 6/22/19, I franticly contacted Chandler at DP. I met with Jeff and was instantly put at ease. I showed him a few pictures of what I wanted and he knew exactly what to do!! The bouquets were absolutely stunning and better than anything I could've imagined. The venue looked beautiful. Jeff exceeded my expectations!! I was also so happy that Jeff worked with my budget and made my dreams come true for a great price.

Lives up to the name - perfectly designed!

We are so grateful to have worked with the DP team - they handled our flowers, draping, lighting, decor, and coordination; and we couldn’t have been more impressed with how everything turned out!

Jeff blew me away with the bouquets he designed (you must see attached pictures!) - they were extraordinary. My flower crown, the mothers corsages, and the guys boutonnières were exactly what I imagined.

The team also did an amazing job decorating the ceremony and reception at Brooklyn Arts Center (photos also attached). I had an image in my head what I wanted it to look like, and they knocked it out of the park!

And I cannot forget to give a big shout out to Chandler, our coordinator - she was an angel. Everything was perfectly organized and the whole day flowed seamlessly thanks to her. She was an absolute joy to work with 😁

Design Perfection is the best

Wow, I don't know where to start. Jeff is an amazing designer who basically took my daughter's vision and made it come to life. People are still talking about his designs. The flowers were magnificent but the icing on the cake was the design of the interior of the large tent. Jeff did an installation of flowers, chandeliers and draping that was simply breath taking. He and his crew came early and stayed late. And, did I mention that my daughter wanted one design and changed 6 weeks before the wedding? Jeff never even skipped a beat. He made it happen. I highly recommend Jeff and Design Perfection. They are top of the line. And, Jeff, I can never thank you enough for making Hillary's wedding magical.

The flowers at my wedding were BEAUTIFUL! Jeff and his team did an amazing job! After only one meeting, 10 months prior to the wedding, Jeff and I sat down and squared away almost every aspect of the floral look that I wanted. We are very thankful we were able to rent candles and decor instead of buying everything since we live in California and had a destination wedding in Wilmington. Jeff at Design Perfection was our first stop in researching florists. I had seen a sample display he set up at Party Suppliers. We discussed the basic needs of our day and where the wedding and reception were scheduled. He quickly sketched up a floor plan for table and dancefloor placement, a very helpful thing and I hadn’t even hired him! He had a huge smart TV hooked into his Pinterest and was able to back up his ideas with visual examples on the large screen. In a brief time, I felt like he totally got our vision for wedding and reception décor and flowers. I’m big on doing my homework and comparing estimates, but in this instance I didn’t feel the need to look anywhere else. He and his A+ administrator, Hannah, were very responsive during the planning process. He has a huge storage facility filled with every style of vases, candle-holders etc. imaginable. Jeff also provides and hangs drapery – an essential venue accent. At the last minute and upon strong recommendations from other recent MOB friends, I hired Hannah to be our reception coordinator. I was able to relax and enjoy my daughter’s wedding with Hannah managing the details and timeline in a way that would have been impossible without her!

Hannah was our day of coordinator and I can't even express how grateful I am for all that she and her team did. We had multiple meetings leading up to our wedding and Hannah was able to take what I had envisioned and execute it beyond what I had imagined. Our day was beautiful and it ran so smoothly. Jeff Bryant and his team at Design Perfection provided wedding planning and floral design services for our daughter and son-in-law's wedding. Look at DP's body of work and you will find comprehensive and beautiful designs unlike anyone else's. From the floral arrangements to dining room and outdoor seating , the interior and exterior lighting, and table decor, every element was beautifully conceived and perfectly executed. They can deal with unexpected circumstances as we had a power outage and fire alarms blaring the afternoon of the wedding. I was truly blown away by the beautiful floral and decor provided by Jeff and his team at Design Perfection. Our bouquets were more beautiful than I could have imagined and all of the centerpieces came out gorgeous. My only desire was to have donuts at the wedding and Jeff created a custom wall to display the donuts in the most unique way. Everything was absolutely perfect! Jeff, Hannah, and the whole Design Perfection crew absolutely exceeded all of our expectations with the floral arrangements and event design they provided for our wedding a few weeks ago. Jeff has an insanely creative eye when it comes to both of these services. Coming from someone who has a very rudimentary knowledge of flowers, with very little help from me, Jeff put together a floral design that literally took my breath away. The attention to detail was truly incredible and they put together what was a very intricate layout in the dark as the power at the venue was out for 3 hours prior to the ceremony! There is not nearly enough room to express how amazing Jeff and his team were for our florals and design. My wife and I threw ideas and colors at him and he produced one of the most beautiful weddings I have ever seen, and I'm not just saying that because it was mine. The original pitch he showed us was a bit pricier than we anticipated and he scaled back and didn't compromise his vision or our requests. His designs and professionalism are second to none and to top it all off, he's just a really nice guy. Do yourself a favor, don't settle for anything less than Design Perfection because it was just that...perfection.

Jeff and his team provided the flowers and decor for our wedding at Brooklyn Arts Center on December 20, 2014. The ceremony spaced had to be flipped for the reception, and the both areas were beyond gorgeous. The centerpieces were the most beautiful floral arrangements I have ever seen! I showed him some of my dream pictures on Pinterest, and his flowers knocked them out of the park-seriously. He also made some candlelight centerpieces for alternating tables with flower petals, and they were stunning! Hire him now- you won't regret it! The quality of their work is outstanding!

We cannot say enough good things about our experience with Jeff at Design Perfection. Our wedding looked beautiful! We planned our wedding from California and Hannah was great about responding to emails and phone calls and having Jeff call us back for more specific questions. I literally showed Jeff three pictures of ideas I had in mind and he turned our cocktail hour area and reception into something amazing! My bouquet and the girls' bouquets were so beautiful, using all the colors and textures I had hoped for. Our guests commented on the gorgeous flowers and table decor all night and the rest of the weekend. My mom has heard many compliments about the sprays at church. Design Perfection made our wedding a beautiful fairytale come true! The entire staff is so pleasant, kind & caring. They made sure our every desire was met while working hard to stay within our budget. The flowers were stunning & the event planners did so well we were oblivious to any glitches that may have occured on the wedding day. Our guests were so impressed with the staff and with the decor...many said it was the most amazing wedding they had ever been to. I just simply cannot say enough wonderful things about the Design Perfection crew. We used them for design and day-of coordinating.

Hannah was great at keeping in touch with us, answering any questions we had, and making sure we were aware of all the things we needed to do. She is so sweet and kind, and she was such a reassuring presence the day of the wedding.

Jennifer was there the day of our wedding with Hannah, and she was unbelievable. She has this amazing ability to keep everyone in line while remaining super calm and super sweet. Our wedding day ran so smoothly because of her. Jennifer even made sure to set a plate of passed hors d'oeuvres aside so that my husband and I would be able to eat a bit after we were done with pictures.

Jeff did all of the design and decor for our wedding. I really have no words for what Jeff is continually able to do for every event he works. There is a reason everyone speaks so highly of him. He really is the best in town at what he does. Our wedding was breathtaking. Our flowers were beyond beautiful, and the altar-like area he created for us using hanging antique gold picture frames was perfect for our venue and personality.

I would highly recommend using Design Perfection. They made our wedding beautiful and stress-free. They are sweet, caring, understanding, patient, knowledgeable, and talented. They should be the first vendor you call when you start to plan your wedding!

Love Love Love Design Perfection! They provided the Draping and Chargers for our wedding. They were incredibly professional and provided impeccable customer service. They made us feel very confident, and were all around incredible. I have seen pictures from other weddings that had more in depth designs from them, and they are breathtaking. Their name says it all. From the first time I met with them to tying up loose ends after the wedding, everything was Perfect! Jeff and his entire team did a fantastic job of keeping me on track and making my "day of" experience stress free--not only for me, but for my entire wedding party and family. On the design side of things, Jeff worked magic. I had a vision of what I wanted my wedding day to feel like, but couldn't put it into words. He brought that vision to life in a way I never thought possible. The creativity, time and care put into every detail was amazing. I booked Jeff/Design Perfection early on in my two-year engagement. Naturally, my theme changed more than once and Jeff took the ride with me the entire way. He was great at making suggestions and ensuring we got the best value for our money in regards to quality and options. I'm not very knowledgeable about flowers, nor was I very particular about the types used, but Jeff was able to identify perfect options in the color scheme and theme I wanted, and executed it flawlessly.

Design Perfection did exactly as they promised, and had excellent follow through and timeliness. I didn't have to worry my flowers or decor would be late.

The quality of the flowers were beautifully bloomed and lasted fully until the next day. I truly thought that I would have paid a lot more than I did for what I got! Was it free, obviously not! But Jeff was great at making sure it was reasonable and beautiful. So happy with my choice and can't wait to see my pictures!

Simply Amazing. Jeff took our pieces of our vision, colors, and feel and brought them to life. We were taken away when we entered the space both for the ceremony and then again for the reception. His attention to detail is unparalleled. He helped us create a special tribute to my wife's mother that was so unique and tastefully done. I cant say enough about Jeff & Jackie at Design Perfection. They were truly a Lifesaver for me!!! At the beginning of my wedding planning I was trying to do without a wedding planner. But after much stress and many bridezilla moments later, I was lucky enough to find these 2. Gorgeous flowers!!! When we met with Jeff about the flowers for my wedding, I explained to him without pictures that I wanted soft and romantic flowers and I received exactly that and more!! The flowers were absolutely breathtaking and I received many, many compliments on them!! My bridal and bridesmaids bouquet were exactly how I pictured them to be in my head!! I could not say enough positive things about Jeff and his team at Design Perfection! When I started wedding planning I knew I would run into a money issue with flowers and what I was expecting for my "dream wedding." I envisioned a large, all white bridal bouquet for me, and tons of white and deep purple flowers for my ceremony and reception. I have always heard from friends in the past who have planned weddings how expensive flowers are so I was a tad skeptical before my meeting with Jeff. He sat down with me, my husband, my mom, and my wedding planner and went straight to work. He asked what I was envisioning and I poured my heart out in what I loved and knew I definitely didn't want. He then asked if I had a Pinterest account and pulled out his iPad and started following my wedding board. I showed him my dream bouquet and let me tell you what...HE BLEW MY MIND the day I walked into my ceremony and reception room! I could not have been more impressed with him the minute that I left the first meeting with him and he more than impressed me on my wedding day! It was a truly magical feeling that rushed throughout me when I saw his masterpiece and amazing talent show through in the flowers and presentations at my ceremony and reception. I have dreamed of my wedding day since I was a little girl. Though my idea of all the details has obviously changed since I was a child I have known one thing to always be true and that was that I wanted a beautiful wedding that felt like a fairytale and that is exactly what I got working with Design Perfection. First of all I was getting married in Wilmington, NC where I had grown up but I was living in Fort Lauderdale, Fl which made things a little more challenging to plan.

When I first met with Jeff Bryant from Design Perfection there were few things that I knew I wanted for sure from my wedding, little details like the colors or what kind of flowers I wanted and where the whole event was going to be held (at my parents home in Wilmington, NC on the intracoastal waterway). My thought initially was that it would make things easy being able to get married at home, however my mother and I didn't think about the fact that EVERYTHING was going to have to be brought to our home. Jeff kept us calm and when we would make decisions with him about things we wanted that was really as far as I had to worry and he made sure it was all there on my wedding day.

I started a pinterest board for my wedding and he started following it and would see my ideas that I had and the vision that I was starting to see in my head. I remember at one of our meetings when I had come home it was finally time to see his vision for what the interior of the tent was going to look like and I was so excited. When he showed me his sketch it was like he had gone inside my head and taken a picture of exactly what I wanted and drew it. He got me and understood exactly what I wanted.

Everything Design Perfection did was first class and customized to be one of a kind for our wedding. The day of they kept us calm and made sure everything ran smoothly. The night was a dream come true and everyone has been saying it was so beautiful and the best party Wilmington had seen. I have to agree :)

Design Perfection's work was stunningly beautiful. Jeff took my thoughts and made them better. More importantly, the proposed design matched the actual product. If there were any revisions or tweaks needed, Jeff reached back out to the me and discussed.

While Jeff did not do a "full service" event for us, I would highly reccomend Design Perfection for that. As a vocalist, I have participated in many weddings and helped plan some. If you don't have that background, then a wedding planner like, Jeff Bryant of Design Perfection, is a must have. It will will maitain your sanity and you will enjoy the process and the day even more.

I also think that a great deal of my success with Design Perfection, was that Jeff started working with us a year in adavnce of the wedding. This allowed all of us to really assess what was needed and look a cost efficiencies for all involved. I love a vendor like, Design Perfection, who do not try to upsale you on everything and speaks directly.

Desgin Perfection is perfect for those who want a more sophisticated, metropolitan wedding. While they can do the beach and shabby chic look, not all other designers understand metropolitan sophistication.

Jeff is a wonderfully artisitic and creative designer. I was resigned to whatever was available since the summer season of color and selection was over. As the mother of the bride, I didn't really know enough about flowers to choose so we just said, "simple, refined and elegant to compliment the ivory and black theme". That is precisely what we got. The most exquisite bridal and attendants bouquets, chapel arrangements, towering centerpieces and candles in shades of ivory, crimson and ruby red. Texture, color and placement transformed the reception dining room. Jeff collaborated with the talented event planner at the country club to produce a visual delight. Jeff, is so organized and dependable from beginning to end. I was confident that we had made the BEST choice.

I don't want to use the word "incredible," because that does not even touch how wonderful Design Perfection- Jeff Bryant, really is. Breathtaking. Whimsical. As my mom, the mother of the bride said, "the draping of the material, candles and arrangements MADE the reception." I don't know of a higher compliment. Let me clarify: I did not see myself as much of a flower girl. I have loved tulips my whole life, but I didnt want a simple white tulip arrangement for my bouquet. My mom and I sat down with Jeff and went over some options. The best part, and the part that sets him apart from other vendors, is that he knows what will look good and he will tell you if it is unbalanced, too many colors/textures, ect. He basically just handled it and did it with perfection. I said, "Jeff, I am thinking different shades of deep red, but I am not a huge fan of simple red roses." Well, my bouquet is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. I don't know of the names of any of them, but it is just stunning.
I really value his suggestion to mix it up a bit, so my reception and wedding arrangements were all ivory and whites, stacked at different levels and with some floating candles. It looked, and I felt, like I was Grace Kelly at my wedding and at my reception. He is the kind of person who also knows how to deal with your mother, so choose him. Let him make your day perfect. He went the extra mile for us to make sure that the groom had his flowers so that the photographer could shoot, then made a second stop at a different location for the bride's family. We are so grateful to him because it was a destination wedding and none of my family could have helped deliver the flowers.

Design Perfection was incredible. Jeff was the only florist I talked to who actually gave me what I wanted and stayed as close to my budget as possible. All other florists told me the flowers I wanted were not going to be available in my price range. He also showed up at the end of the reception to collect the vases where other florists require you to bring them back within a couple of days (when you are on your honeymoon making it one more thing you have to ask someone else to do). All in all Design Perfection was not only the best bang for your buck they did an excellent job and I recommend them to anyone!

Jeff was wonderful to work with! He listened to my wedding vision and was able to interpret exactly what we wanted and more. He did flowers and overall decor for both our Rehearsal Dinner and Wedding. I've been to weddings that were highly "valued" in much larger cities than Wilmington where the flowers were lacking or the decor just not complete- that was not the case with Jeff's eye for quality and details. He was outstanding and several guests made a point to say it was the most beautiful wedding they've ever attended. Granted, I'm sure guests tell the bride that all the time, but the number of details that people appreciated throughout our big day were quite suprising!

What to say about Jeff, other than he is an excellent designer. He did not only design our wedding, he executed everything that I could have ever wanted and more. He came up with the design, took my suggestions into account and executed the entire plan flawlessly. The cocktail hour ambiance was beautiful with many details that made everyone feel relaxed. The reception was stunning. It gave an overall feel that we spent more money than what we actually did. Our guests noticed all the details and they were all very impressed. The entire night all I heard was how beautiful everything was and we still are. The photo booth was a hit, at first guest thought it was a decorative wall, when they realized what it was they were amazed. It was awesome how the photo booth served as a decorative piece as well.

Thinking back I am so glad that I walked into Party Rentals and saw your gorgeous display/set-up and picked up your business card.

I am sad in a way because all of the planning and hard work that you put in is all over, but we will have fabulous pictures to look at and will always remember what an extraordinary job you and your team did for us on our special day!!!!

Design Perfection helped me to transform my reception venue from parking garage to an industrial paradise. Although they only provided a drapery, I never felt as though my job was too small for them. Jeff/Design Perfection was absolutely phenomenal. My flowers/centerpieces were absolutely stunning. Jeff is incredibly talented and I just sat down with him for 15-20 minutes and showed him my Pinterest board and he knew exactly what I wanted. I was going for classic and elegant with beautiful roses and peonies and he went above and beyond. We definitely paid a little more than we wanted to but it was worth every penny! Hannah, the office manager, is an absolute gem. She responded to my many emails, worked with the contract to make sure it was just what we wanted, and was so helpful and friendly. I can't wait to see pictures because during the day, I really only got to pay attention to my bouquet and the centerpieces at my table, but everyone raved about how beautiful the flowers were. Jeff is a true artist! They also have the cutest storefront in Wilmington, NC!

As a bride who had a very general idea of what I wanted, I went searching for a florist who would be able to listen to how we wanted to feel at our wedding and somehow translate that vision into decor and wave a magic wand so it became reality. Jeff did just this for us. We didn't come in with many stipulations aside from wanting a romantic feel. Our very first meeting, Jeff surpassed our expectations by first getting to know us and our style a little more and then it was as simple as him waving a magic wand. He was easy to trust with our vision and he offered such great insight for what truly works and what doesn't. He also helped us have realistic expectations for our budget without once saying that we would have to sacrifice our dream. He made it work and we loved him for it. He worked tirelessly on the day of and to this day we still hear raving reviews about our flowers that day. The ambiance that he created brought tears to my mom's eyes and just like that, our day was just as I had always dreamed it would be.

Loved the designs and working with DP!

We rented drapery for my daughter’s wedding at the Brooklyn Arts Center. After the venue denied us hanging a piece that was made by a family member, we reached out to Jeff with only a few weeks to go to create something similar within our budget. He exceeded our expectations and turned a bad situation into a beautiful joyful event. So many compliments on the ceiling decor!

Stunning Decor, exceeded my expectations

We hired Jeff and his team for both as the florist and the planner at our wedding. He also handled all the rentals (design, chairs, etc.) The planning package was the 2nd package (~$3200). I found most of our vendors but after our month before meeting, they handled everything. The day of, everything went perfect, and I didn't have to pick up my phone once! The design by Jeff was absolutely breathtaking. It was everything I could have imagined and more. We received so many compliments from our guests on the decor. It was a night I will never forget, and I will give most of that credit to DP.

Stylish touches

We hired Design Perfection for some draping to cover existing red curtains in the Annex of the Brooklyn Arts Center. They did a great job! We also had a few small rentals from them; their staff was easy to work with and really helpful in sending us photos of things when we couldn’t come down to see things in person (we live about 4+ hours away from Wilmington). Didn’t have a ton of contact with them (we did the bulk of our rentals through another company based on cost) but they were good overall!

My husband I chose Design Perfection for our Wedding Ceremony and Reception Decor for our Wedding on 07Feb2015. Looking back at everything I cannot think of ANYTHING that I would have done differently or could have been done differently. Jeff took my vision and brought it to life.

My colors were silver and white and Jeff made it look like the Winter Wonderland that I wanted. His extra ideas that he gave me brought everything together. Using Design Perfection I didn't have to worry about anything. They did the setup, flipping the room and the break down.

I received a lot of compliments about how our wedding looked as if it could have been in a movie. Jeff's vision is over the top and if you want a movie or magazine ready wedding. Jeff at Design Perfection is the place to go!

Working with Jeff and staff produced an amazing rehearsal dinner floral display. Each table was simply breathtaking. I hadn't used this florist before, but was SO pleased. We did all coordinating by email and yet the centerpieces produced were exactly what I'd hoped for. Everyone loved them. They were unique and contained a wonderful variety of textures, colors and light.
I had a friend who is a professional flower preserver in attendance. She works with florists from all over the country, and said that these arrangements were some of the most beautiful that she'd ever seen.
Highly recommended.

Design Perfection did a fabulous job on our venue design and floral arrangements! We were extremely pleased with the outcome of their work. The owner, Jeff, was extremely knowledgeable, creative, and responsive to our ideas. His vision was exquisite and he provided exactly what we had planned together in our meetings prior to the event. His office manager, Hannah, was very helpful, courteous, and wonderful to work with. The only detail that was concerning at all was that our final proposal was received the same month as the wedding, and this was difficult for us in not knowing exactly where we were within our budget guidelines. That being said, we were thrilled with the final outcome of our design and event preparation.

Beautiful flowers and very responsive to our requests to create a traditional romantic and southern setting. The resulting layout and table decorations set the scene for an elegant evening.

Jeff and his team executed the vision for my wedding reception perfectly. It was absolutely breathtaking and we received so many compliments throughout the evening on the decor and that it looked like a wedding in a magazine.

Worst wedding planner ever

This is the first review I have ever written in my life and am just hoping to help someone not make the same mistake we did! When we hired Design Perfection, we already had a lot of the wedding planned (venue, catering, design theme, etc). We lived out of state and were traveling to Wilmington, NC for our wedding so after speaking with Jeff, thought design perfection would be the perfect planner for our wedding which was 8 months away. My fiancee and I have busy schedules, so we told Jeff our vision and color scheme and asked for him to give us two or three options for everything and we would just pick one. Since we didn’t have a budget for our wedding, knew what we wanted and were 8 months from our wedding day, we thought this was going to be the easiest wedding ever planned. We could not have been more wrong!! Our experience started off strong with a couple of phone calls going over the vision for our wedding. The first few months we spoke maybe twice and then had back and forth emails with Jeff's assistant. When we were three months from our wedding date, we still had no official design plan, no floor plan, and had no rentals. We started to voice our concerns and were reassured that there was still plenty of time and not to worry. One more month went by, still no progress. We were two months away from our wedding with no floor plan, design plan, had never even had a conversation regarding what flowers we wanted, nothing. We had no chairs or tables for guest that would be attending a wedding weeks away. At this point, I had such anxiety I was losing sleep almost every night. My fiancee and I began trying to contact Jeff but, our emails were ignored for weeks and he would not return our phone calls. It was just blow off after blow off. I reached out to our venue, Wrightsville Manor (which was amazing!),since they were the ones who referred Design Perfection. The conversation was basically, “Hey, should we be freaking out because I feel like this isn’t normal?!” The Wrightsville Manor team was shocked and said that everything should have been reserved and finalized MONTHS AGO! We began calling Jeff and sending emails with this news and he finally responded. Never in my life have I been spoken to more unprofessionally. He even mocked about the fact he was ignoring our calls and emails and with an apathetical and patronizing attitude told us we were upset for no reason. At this point, even if Jeff could have delivered with rentals and planning. We couldn’t imagine having to deal with someone on our actual wedding day who could be so unprofessional and apathetical over something as important as someones wedding day. In full panic, with prayers and the help of local friends, we were able to find a last minute planner (Steele Magnolias) and rental company (White Birch) who saved the day. We were told by multiple people that there were two other couples, who had similar experiences with Design perfection, during this time as well. Supposedly, Jeff agreed to give them a refund in exchange they had to sign a non-disclosure agreement that they could not write negative reviews.

Incompetent, Rude and Uninspired

Part of me feels horrible for writing this... but I'd feel worse not warning other couples. Design Perfection's owner, Jeff, was the biggest source of stress for my now-husband and me during the planning process. We had two contracts with Design Perfection for our wedding weekend (event planning + design, plus a secondary event) and Jeff not only repeatedly failed to meet deadlines, but he also failed to deliver on ANY design-related services (among other services) contracted for in the critical 5-9 month period leading up to the wedding. We were also rudely dismissed whenever we asked for guidance or suggestions on event and floral design during that time. He never had ideas or solutions to offer, and his client service was atrocious at best - the most common response we heard from him was “I don’t know.” For someone who is an event “planner” by trade, he never seemed to have a grasp on… anything. He then cancelled our contracts 4 months before our wedding and REFUSED to give us any of our deposit back unless we signed a NDA agreement (we obviously declined this offer and filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau instead).

Luckily, we were able to work with another planner who was able to get us back on track (with the utmost professionalism, creativity and care, for what it's worth!), and we had the most amazingly wonderful and epic weekend. Despite the stress and frustration Jeff initially created for us, I'm so relieved things turned out the way they did. The thought of having Jeff there on my wedding day makes me absolutely cringe - his bad attitude and energy would have put a damper on everything!!!

Avoid at all costs.
