Jyl was absolutely instrumental in pulling off our wedding smoothly. From the moment we hired her, Jyl went above and beyond with sage advice, coordinating with the venue, quick responses, and helping us figure out what we needed to still do and when. When it came to two months before our wedding, Jyl was indispensable, coordinating between vendors and putting together a timeline that factored in so many moving parts with ease. By the time it came to our wedding day, it was clear from chatting with other vendors that Jyl had put in work that we weren’t even aware of, making our lives easier without us even knowing or asking for recognition. And on the wedding day, she kept us on schedule, was there every step of the way, and managed to anticipate hiccups before they even happened. No small blip was not swiftly remedied - one too few bridesmaids bouquets, a button falling off the groom’s tux, a small stain on the bride’s dress, family portraits that felt overwhelming at times, or a bride’s headache. We still remark to ourselves that we are in shock at how smoothly things ran, and are still waiting for something wedding-related to go wrong, because nothing really did. And that’s the magic of hiring Jyl — she will make sure that’s the case for you, and if something does come up, she’s the best person to rise to the challenge of fixing it. If I could go back and change one thing about my wedding, it would be hiring Jyl for the full planning services instead of day of/month of. Jyl was an absolute life saver. The second she started getting more involved about 1 month out from our wedding, my stress levels dropped significantly. She knew all of our vendors personally, had planned and executed multiple weddings at our venue, and just operated with an air of confidence and ease that every bride needs in their life. The day of our wedding, Jyl took complete control of the reins, and I just got to enjoy the day. She navigated the uncertain weather, my semi-dysfunctional family, assembling our DIY centerpieces and hundreds of other details that I am not even aware of to ensure the day was perfect. She even drove off-cape to pick up and drop off our rentals, which saved us hundreds of dollars. I could not be more grateful for Jyl - do yourself a favor and pick Deering Events for your wedding! -

Without Jyl and her team, I know our day wouldn’t have happened so smoothly. Jyl was accessible to us throughout the planning process to answer questions, give insight, and help us prioritize the details that made our day so special. Fast forward to the day of and we had zero stress because she handled everything. We got to show up to our wedding and just enjoy it! We cannot recommend Jyl enough, she was incredible. If you’re looking for a stress-free wedding day, then hiring Jyl and her team is the right decision! -

So many good things to say about Jyl (and her assistant Megan) I don't even know where to start! Navigating planning a wedding during a pandemic was no easy feat, but Jyl made us feel at ease and taken care of completely. Our wedding was at a venue that required a lot of our own set-up as well as bringing in all our vendors, but both Jyl and Megan made us feel as if we didn't have to worry about a thing the whole weekend! Everything was thought of and I am so appreciative for their help. Our wedding went off without a hitch and I totally credit that to Jyl and Megan for their help!! -

If wedding ninjas exist, Jyl is one of the. She put forth an incredible, herculean effort into making our wedding a show stopper. The compliments from all our guests were never-ending and we could not be happier with how the day went. From day one, she worked with us to help bring our vision to life with advice, research, responsiveness, organization, and other big and small gestures. We are so thankful that Jyl mentored us through the insane process that is planning a wedding. We are truly touched by her positive spirit, are eternally grateful, and will forever look back on our wedding with affection and amazing memories. Not a day goes by that we don't remark how absolutely wonderful, fun, perfect, and smooth our special day was! None of it would have been possible without Jyl. Jyl made our day and our overall wedding experience incredibly blissful. Planning a 140+ person wedding at a private residence in the midst of the location (Nantucket) being 32 miles out to sea, could not have been an easy task. Jyl served as equal parts visionary, designer, project manager, and friend. Her ability to translate our ideas and wishes into a vision was endlessly impressive and her continual excitement regarding all things important to us reaffirmed our decision to hire her as a planner time and time again. Her ability to break down the daunting task of planning a wedding into bite-sized pieces made the whole process that much more fun, enjoyable, and meaningful. Jyl was nothing but understanding and patient with our busy schedules, as well as providing gentle reminders when we fell radio silent, she kept us on track and always moving forward. Jyl became so much a part of our lives and cared so much for us that we knew she would do everything to make our day special and meaningful - which she absolutely did! Before hiring Jyl, stereotypically, I feared the wedding day would be filled with phone calls, texts and inevitable interruptions - not a phone call or text the entire wedding! I would recommend Jyl and Deering Events to anyone who wants a professional and personally designed wedding. The wedding felt like it was custom made for us in the most wonderful and expertly executed way possible - which was the greatest gift Jyl could have given us. Thank you for everything, Jyl. -

Our wedding party and family all commented on how calmly and smoothly our wedding day was - and that's all because of Jyl and Deering Events! From the first phone call Jyl was great to talk to and kept me and my husband on track and organized - and most importantly took a lot of the stress out of the wedding planning process. Jyl was invaluable when 48 hours before my wedding my make-up artist fell through. She assured me we would find a replacement and called her contacts and within a few hours had found me a great replacement vendor.
Inevitably something unpredictable will happen during your planning process or on your wedding day - and Jyl is the person you want on your vendor team to help you through it. She loves this business, cares immemsely about her clients and their vision and she is a true professional. Jyl took our vision and implemented it to make our wedding day exactly as we imagined it would be (and better). I cannot recommend Jyl more highly for your big day!! -

Jyl made our day perfect. From day one, she was completely dialed in to what we were looking for and for the 1+ year we worked with her she always kept our best interests in mind while also helping us figure out how to plan the best time for our family and guests. She knows all the right questions to ask, brings to light crucial details you may not have thought about, and is just so positive about everything. She took away all my fears and concerns and made sure my husband and I were able to truly enjoy our special day. She loves this work, and it truly shows, as do her years of experience. Jyl knows what she’s doing!
