Absolutely Fantastic
Everything about Deer Creek was absolutely terrific, but the best part was getting to work with their staff. They were super helpful, and always trying to make our experience all the better. I would absolutely recommend this venue to anybody. -

My wedding day was absolutely perfect! This place is gorgeous and the people/staff are lovely! I was so, so happy with the way everything looked on the day of my wedding. I will recommend this place to everyone that I talk to! -

Everything was perfect on my wedding day, the food, the venue and the people from Deer creek were great!!! It's a little hard the comunication before the wedding, but you have to trust them, they really know what they're doing. I enjoyed every minute of it and me and my husband are really happy with our venue's choice. -

The coordinators at Deer Creek were awesome!! They responded to e-mail's promptly and allowed me to stop by whenever I needed to go over something. They understood my vision and dream and made it come to life on my wedding day. Everything was just beautiful and perfect! -

This was the last venue we went to and it met all of our needs perfectly! We knew right when we walked in this was the place we wanted our reception. They include food & bar, and have a great list of suggestions for vendors. This is a great venue if you're on a budget and need the best bang-for-your-buck! Absolutely stunning & great staff. Cannot wait to work more with them and have our reception here in a year! -

Alex and Ashley were wonderful to work with. The venue is absolutely beautiful for a wedding or any event. Our day was stress free, and the staff was so accommodating. there were zero issues during the reception, which is A++ for the bride :) Everyone kept talking about how beautiful the ceremony and reception were, and how awesome the food was. EVERY guest commented on how good the food was :) -

Love love love Deer Creek!!! Alex made our day so amazingly easy, fun, perfect, amazing, I could keep going! We chose them because we could have our wedding and reception there! We got married in July of this year and planned for an outdoor wedding, but the morning of it was pouring rain! The days leading up to it Alex reassured me of the back up plans and what our options were so when we got to Deer Creek the morning of the wedding I was at ease (as much as I could be) with how everything was going to proceed!! Our day was perfect! Oh and the food was fantastic!!!!!! -

I cannot say enough good things about Deer Creek! It's a beautiful venue, and it was perfect for our outdoor wedding. Alex was absolutely amazing, and helped us plan our wedding and reception from start to finish. She coordinated with our florist, DJ, and photographer, so the day was as stress-free as possible for us. The staff did all of the decorating and clean up, which eliminated a lot of extra work for ourselves and our families. The food at the reception was delicious, and we received many compliments from our guests. Truly....it was a great experience. -

Deer creek was the perfect choice when choosing our reception venue. It is beautiful, great workers, went above and beyond helping us set up and take down. The staff was very professional and helpful during the reception itself, everything was cleaned up and well maintained and the guests were very happy!

This venue was totally awesome for my daughter's wedding reception/dance. Alex and her staff were awesome to work with. The food was great! We had A LOT of compliments on the venue/food/setup and just everything in general. I will recommend Deer Creek to everyone! Thanks so much for helping to make the day/evening so special. -

We had a wonderful experience with Deer Creek! Alex was extremely helpful and accommodating. We had our ceremony and reception in the Seasons Room. It was a good size for our 138 guests. Everything went smoothly and several of our guests commented that it was the best dinner they'd ever had at a wedding. Would recommend Deer Creek to anyone! -

Our experience with Deer Creek was excellent. Alex was on top of everything and very easy to work with. We live 2 hours away, and she was always willing to help us out when needed. The evening of the event went smoothly and each staff person was professional and pleasant. Lastly, we received many positive comments from our friends and family regarding the evening. -

Alex at Deer Creek was wonderful! She helped me out a lot with the planning of our reception. She didn't seem to mind if I had last minute changes or notes - even on the day of! The food was great and the Seasons Room is absolutely beautiful with great view of the golf course. My guests raved about the location and the food. The service was great, I couldn't have asked for anything more! -

Our daughter's wedding day could not have been better! The outdoor area and the Sunset and Seasons rooms were beautifully set. Alex patiently guided everyone through the entire day's events. Her patience and professionalism throughout the planning process were wonderful. She responded to all our queries promptly and provided hints and ideas when we were at a loss for items. The buffet and bar were excellent and the service was outstanding. Thank You Alex and the Deer Creek staff for a fantastic day! -

We were "over-the-top" pleased with our entire experience. From our initial visit to the day of the wedding, we were treated with extreme kindness and professionalism. Alex and Greg are wonderful, fun individuals. We can honestly say our stress was very minimal because of the assistance we received from both of them. It was a beautiful, fun, memory-making event! Deer Creek Golf Club provided a great wedding for our daughter! The location was scenic and the staff did a wonderful job with the guests and vendors working the wedding! The food was awesome!!! Nick was easy to work with and Alex was fantastic!!! Alex truly made the weeks prior and that day come together, guiding us along the way!!! She is one in a million!!! The only complaint I have is the room was way to HOT. Our cake was melting! The room needed cool down a couple of hours before our event started. We were told it was hot because our guest turned down the thermostat, I'm not buying it. Our cake look horrible and that I'm sad about.
I enjoyed working with Alex and she had her work cut out for her with our wedding and a golf tournament at the same time. -

Deer Creek Golf Club was the perfect place for our wedding reception! Alex is an exceptional wedding coordinator she is professional, flexible, reliable, and personable! Every time I met with Alex she was organized and efficient, our meetings were always productive and her eye for creativity never ceased to amaze me. She made sure every detail was covered and I knew on my wedding day I would not have to worry about anything because I was in the AMAZING hands of Alex and the Deer Creek staff! Our reception at Deer Creek was INCREDIBLE the entire night went seamlessly and I can't imagine celebrating such special day anywhere but Deer Creek!!! -

Our event was a wedding rehearsal dinner for approximately 80 people. Deer Creek Golf Club went above and beyond to make sure we more than satisfied. The event coordinator met every request made. Food looked as good as it tased and served hot. The number of staff was appropriate for size of party. I would highly recommend to a best friend and I would use their services again. -

It was a beautiful wedding at Deer Creek! I have always told my girls I would never allow an outdoor wedding with the unpredictability of the weather. Deer Creek offers an indoor facility in the event of poor weather. On wedding day morning...torrential rain. By afternoon, the sun came out and the ceremony was beautiful on the green (especially with all the rain). Alex was always easy to work with and flexible with all that we asked from beginning to end. I would highly recommend Deer Creek as a special place for your wedding. -

My husband and I had our wedding ceremony and reception at Deer Creek just last week. The venue is absolutely beautiful and everyone was very helpful and accommodating. Alex and Nick were always available to answer any questions, and were able to provide us with direction whenever asked/needed. The food is fantastic too! I am thrilled to get to go to another wedding there at the end of this month. I would most definitely recommend Deer Creek to all! -

I had my reception at Deer Creek. I couldn't be more happier. Alex was great! Planning was a breeze with her . She gave me options and suggestions. She made the venue look amazing. The centerpiece flower arrangement she did was absolutely beautiful. The whole place looks stunning. We love the fact that they let us use their golf cart so that we can drive around the golf course to take great photos.All of my guest was so delighted with the food. Everybody thought it was delicious. And indeed it was. If you are looking for a wedding venue , ceremony and/or reception, look no more!Deer Creek is your best choice! -

The staff were extraordinarily helpful and flexible. We had three events in one weekend ( shower, rehearsal dinner and wedding) which all went extremely smoothly. From set-up to clean-up the staff were there to help. The quality of the food was excellent as well. The setting of the venue is beautiful. It was convenient as well, with plenty of on site parking, and a quality hotel just across the parking lot. We couldn't have picked a better venue. -

We are so glad we had our wedding ceremony and reception at Deer Creek! Alex was amazing to work with while planning and her and the entire staff made our day so easy! The whole day went off without any problems and was absolutely gorgeous! I can't thank them enough for everything they did so I wouldn't have to worry about a thing - a bride's dream!! ;) On top of everything, the food was delicious, the course was in great shape and everyone was nice and professional! Alex at Deer Creek was so amazing and integral in making my night a true fairy tale. Her staff, including her husband (talk about the perfect couple in the perfect job!) made everything look so effortless. We were a little behind schedule due a snafu with another vendor, but thanks to Alex and her professional and attentive staff, everything went more than smooth. If there were any issues, I never knew of them because everything just looked perfect from the morning mimosas while my girls and I got ready to Alex making sure my new husband and I actually got to eat the amazing food we had picked out! It truly was a dream come true and a night to remember that wouldn't have been possible without the amazing people at Deer Creek. Oh and if you have an event there, make sure to request Justin Vargas to be your bartender! He has the patience of Job and a smile that can light up even the darkest day.

Deer Creek furnished an excellent buffet spread for the price. Many guests commented on how nice the room was for the event, especially having the buffet line in a separate area away from the seating. Alex Sherf was very attentive to any questions I had before the event and her husband, Greg, handled everything asked of him on the day of event. Overall everything went great and I would not hesitate on planning another event at Deer Creek. -

This is the second time I have hosted an event at this venue. I had my wedding and reception at this venue and then I recently had a Baby Shower hosted by my mother at the Deer Creek Golf Club. Our experience was exceptional! The staff went above and beyond our expectations. Alexandra, the event coordinator, was well organized, professional, and even added small touches that helped make our experience perfect. She was very prompt with responses and was just as detail oriented as I am!
When we arrived to the venue, the room had already been setup beautifully and we simply added our finishing touches. The wait staff, especially Andrew, was very attentive to our guests and made them feel comfortable. The food prepared was more than enough for our 60 guests. I received a lot of positive feedback from our guests regarding the shrimp and cocktail sauce (it was amazing!!!), the meatballs, the chocolate covered strawberries and the raspberry drizzled cheesecake. The venue even went above and beyond by creating a pink colored alcohol-free punch for the shower. Like I said, everything was perfect! I would recommend the DCGC to anyone looking for a venue to host their special occasion. Our experience was unforgettable!! -

We absolutely loved our experience with Deer Creek! Jessica and Ashley both worked on our event and did a great job of helping us plan. The staff a Deer Creek worked well with our vendors to set things up and Ashley was there throughout our event making sure things ran smoothly. We recieved so many compliments on the food and event space (both indoors and out). Initially we were concerned about there being another event at Deer Creek on the same night as ours, however it was not an issue at all. Both parties had their own deck spaces and we couldn't hear anything from the other room while inside. In addition to all of the great things that Deer Creek had to offer, having The TowneSuites Marriott so close by was a big selling point for us as we wanted to make sure our guests were able to stay the night at a nice place close by. (they could litterally walk across the parking lot to get safely home!) -

We had our sons rehearsal dinner at the clubhouse. All event managers were very professional and easy to work with. They made you feel like you were their only concern. Questions were answered quickly and event managers kept in touch with us throughout the entire planning process. They were eager to help with the little extra's we wanted and volunteered to set them up. The waitstaff were all outgoing and helpful toward all our guest.
Our guest were very impressed with the room as well as the beautiful view it provided. Food was fantastic! We can't say enough about the entire process! We would recommend this venue without any hesitation. -

All the staff were extremely helpful and courteous. They were very accommodating as we had to change our dates. The menu selection was excellent considering we were on a tight budget :-)
In particular, Ashley Dowgwillo and Jessica King were wonderful to work with. Our captain for the evening was Mike and he and his staff were very attentive and pleasant.
We will definitely consider Deer Creek for future events.

I began working with Jessica at Deer Creek Golf Club last June for our May 2013 wedding. The experience working with this venue was amazing. Leading up to our big day, I would think of things that needed to get done so I would call up Jessica and she would take care of my issues. We had our final meeting 2 weeks before the wedding and she was able to go through our entire ceremony and reception reassuring us everything would go as planned.
May 26th was the best day because our venue took care of all the little details throughout the day. I did not have anything to worry about. Jessica went above and beyond and it meant so much to us.
We used Deer Creek Golf Club for our caterer as well. The food was absolutely amazing. All of our guests raved that it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding and I would definitely agree!

Jessica King took over our wedding planning about 2 months out- and she was a complete game-changer. She met with us for 2 hours right after she took over to go over every detail to make sure she was knowledgeable about every decision. She replied to most of my emails in less than 5 minutes!
She ran through the rehearsal with us the night before our wedding and then was at Deer Creek the entire next day for our event. She did enough work for a team of coordinators on the day of! A few highlights:
* We had to move our ceremony indoors because of a storm on our wedding day. She borrowed floral arrangements from previous weddings and sent her team out to buy a new arch for us because she knew I was disappointed about the situation.
*My mom caught her on her hands and knees perfectly arranging the flower petals on our aisle!
*When I went into her office to sit down during our cocktail hour I found my bridesmaids sitting at her desk with drinks and a platter of our cocktail hour food! All of which Jessica had brought them! She brought us another round of drinks and more food (I was starving!) and enjoyed a calm moment with us.
*My family was talking about her just as much as they were talking about my new husband and I the next day at our brunch- everyone could tell how much effort she'd put in and how she had truely made a rainy mess into our dream wedding.
I have already asked her to coordinate other weddings (the "bride" isn't even engaged yet, but we have to have her!) and have recommended her to my friends. Book with her now while she's still affordable and not off in LA or NY planning celebrity events! ;-)
Also- the food at Deer Creek is perfect and the prices are competitive! -

We had an amazing experience at Deer Creek. It was by far the best decision we made for our wedding. I'm an event planner so I have very high standards in service and food and beverage and this facility exceeded all of my expectations. The food was amazing (we keep saying we wished we'd eaten more!), the service was perfect, the bartender was fun and did a wonderful job. The captain that evening (Martin) was wonderful and so helpful.
The Catering Manager left shortly before our wedding and we had a difficult time getting ahold of anyone for about a week. Once I did speak with someone they were all very helpful (Jackie) and did everything they could to assure me they were prepared for our event. And the certainly were. I would reccomend them to anyone and everyone. The value for the money was amazing as well. Thank you! -

My daughter had chosen Deer Creek for her wedding because of it's casual elegance. She had been to another wedding there and was very impressed. THis is the place to have a wedding! The food was delicious. The room has beautiful views of the golf course and has just the right feel of comfort yet special features to recognize this is a big event. The recommended vendors list helped us find some of the people that made our day fantastic. Top among them were Kelly and Susan Howe who served as Dj's ( and much more ) for the evening. Alex, our event coordinator was professional, responsive, and worked so hard to make our night extra special. Thank you ,all, for making this the night of our dreams. -

Alex was amazing! She helped with every detail including helping me cut borders and attach pictures to them for the tables as I was scrambling to decorate before my daughters party. They let us use several of their decorating pieces without any extra charges. She is a great communicator and her first concern was definitely for my daughter to have a fabulous “Sweet 16th” birthday party.
The fire in fireplace and the large windows were perfect looking out at the snow especially with the weather turning so badly so fast. They had the parking lot shoveled and iced so there was no issue with that what so ever.
I will, and have, recommended Deer Creek to friends searching for a venue with these criteria. Clubhouse is definitely dated in some areas but overall it was a wonderful evening for my daughter and the perfect venue to dance and celebrate. Prices are reasonable and food was very good. A+ service as well!! -

Deer Creek was an absolute DREAM. I loved working with Rachel for my wedding. She was so responsive and easy to work with. She went above and beyond for us prior to and during our wedding. The kitchen was accommodating to different dietary restrictions at no extra charge. It was an absolutely beautiful day and we have received so many compliments on the food, bar, and venue. Deer Creek allowed up to have everything we wanted and still stay within our budget. The package deal they offer is hard to beat for an inclusive venue with an open bar and that was a "must" of ours.
Only issues we had:
It was extremely warm the night of our wedding, even though we were inside and the venue staff said that the AC was as high as it could go.
During our pictures, we were taking some photos on the golf course and were asked to move by some golfers. This was totally fine, but it would have been nice to have a DC representative with us to help us navigate this with the golfers as we felt we should be given priority. -

Deer Creek went above and beyond to make sure our reception went off without a hitch. I got sick during the reception and Alex stepped up to coordinate with all my other vendors to ensure I got all the photos I wanted, the party kept going, and that people were taken care of. Highly recommend Deer Creek! -

Beautiful venue and awesome staff/service! Food and drink was delicious! I would recommend bringing your own DJ or speakers because sound system was not as strong as we would have wished, however other than that everything went perfectly! -

Deer Creek was a tremendous place to have our wedding. We had originally planned on having the ceremony out on the first tee, but of course it rained. The staff was more than accommodating to have everything setup indoors. Everything was crisp and clean looking. Alex, the provided coordinator, was a blast to work with. She made sure she had every detail covered and without her we would have had a train wreck to deal with. We went with one of their inclusive packages and it was worth the money. Having the bar, food, setup/tear down, venue and planner for one set fee made our lives so much simpler. The food was absolutely delicious and the drinks were made just about right. I didn't have any complaints from any of our guests. -

We had our reception at deer creek and received so many complements. Alex and her staff are wonderful to work with, they made our reception perfect and I didn't have to worry about any details that day. The food is wonderful and the golf course looked great in all our pictures. Justin the bar tender did an excellent job and knew what everyone was drinking. I would recommend deer creek to any bride! -

It was a great night for all. It is the perfect place for a wedding reception and the staff went overboard to make it special. They are very proffessional and organized which allowed us to enjoy our daughters wedding. She was thrilled and said it could not have been more perfect and in the end that is all that matters. All I can say is thank you to Deer Creek for helping make this a perfect night for everyone. -

Deer Creek was amazing. The food was incredible--people were commenting on the quality all night and even the next day! Linda was great to work with. She's there to help you create your day 100% the way you want it. It was a great deal to go with Deer Creek since we wanted our reception to be in Overland Park. It wasn't the most expensive place, but the quality and attention to detail was there, which made it a good value. Plus, you can't beat the beautiful surroundings and perfect picture opportunities in & around the clubhouse. The staff there is very serious about doing the job right and wanting people to leave with a good experience. The day of our wedding, our cake toppers fell down the side of the cake (b/c they weren't secure) and ruined part of it. Luckily, Deer Creek's chef used some of our cupcakes we had to fix the problem and made it look good again. And sadly, there was a second issue with stability when moving the cake off the dance floor, so needless to say, there wasn't much left of our cake after we'd cut it. However, Deer Creek didn't have to take full responsibility for the mishap b/c it was definitely not all their fault, but they did and they had one of their highly recommended bakers make another top tier for us to freeze. I just can't say enough about their customer service. We are so pleased that we chose Deer Creek for our reception. They made it a day we won't ever forget. -

Deer Creek Golf Club was a beautiful venue. We had our ceremony outside and had our reception in the 'seasons room'. We had breakfast buffet for dinner and it was delicious - all of our guests really loved the food. Ashley Cowan & Alex Sherf were easy to work with and were always very easy to reach with questions throughout the entire planning process. They were helpful in setting up our reception space, and were able to match our colors for the napkins and chair sashes which definitely helped create the look we were going for. They were very accommodating with changes we needed, floor plan set ups, and working with us to make sure the wedding is everything we wanted. The staff was great at the reception. The girls getting ready space is full of natural light which was very helpful when getting ready and when taking pictures. We also were given golf carts to use to take bridal party pictures on the golf course - which made things way easier. The only thing to note is if you do have a cash bar - the bar only takes cash. There are ATMs available which is convenient, however the alcohol was a bit pricey in comparison to other venues we had looked at per drink. We also did have some cash stolen out of 2 of the bridal party purses when they were stored away during the reception. I would make sure that if you have valuables such as purses, move them to your car once you're done with them rather than keeping them in the offices for your reception. Other than that, things were great. -
