Hiring Jess as our month-of/day-of coordinator was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! From the moment she stepped in, she was calm, organized, and completely on top of every detail. Even though she was hired just for the final stretch, she answered all of our questions, helped us make decisions, and was extremely responsive throughout the entire planning process.
Jess handled every timeline, vendor question, and last-minute change with total grace and professionalism. She anticipated needs before we even realized them, solved problems quietly behind the scenes, and made sure everything ran flawlessly from start to finish. Because of her, we were able to fully relax, enjoy the day, and soak in every moment.
Our families and vendors all commented on how seamless everything felt, and that’s entirely thanks to Jess. If you’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented, kind, fun, and genuinely cares about making your day stress-free and perfect, hire Jess! We truly can’t recommend her enough. -

Our best decision was hiring Jess!
My husband and I have continued to say that meeting and working with Jessica was our greatest wedding gift. Her cool and calm demeanor immediately impressed us. Jess never failed to quickly answer a text or phone call. She was always happy to help us find a solution to any problem, no matter how big or small. It truly can’t be overstated enough how much trust we had in her that our day would be perfect because of her hard work. Thank you Jess for making our wedding truly an amazing experience. If you are hesitant on needing a planner, do not pass on working with Jess. She will be the best decision you make. -

Our day would not be as perfect as it was without Jess! She was simply amazing. Any question I had, whether it was a big decision or a small decor question, Jess was more than helpful and happy to help! She was so responsive, professional & knowledgeable with everything! A Wedding Essential
Do yourself a favor and hire Jess as soon as you get engaged. I am a Type A person and thought I could organize everything myself. That was a joke.
There are so many details that I didn't think of. Jess was there to make sure everything was seamless. From our first call to the last moments of our wedding, Jess was my saving grace. She didn't pressure me to sign a contract. She made me feel seen and understood. She got our vision and embraced it.
Jess is patient, kind, and an essential part of any wedding. I used Jess's day-of coordinator services, but we called and emailed months before the big day.
Jess is incredibly organized and kept me (any my family) sane. She was there for the final walk-thru at the venue, the rehearsal the day before the wedding, and at our hotel bright and early on the wedding day.
Our wedding was an absolute dream! No one bothered us! We just got to be present with each other and enjoy the special moments of the day.
We couldn't have done it without Jess setting up everything with vendors, making sure we had drinks and food, and moving everything along. I can't thank her enough for making our dreams come true. -

Hiring Jess as our Day Of Coordinator was the best decision we made!! She was always extremely responsive to our questions and provided insightful suggestions, making sure we hadn’t forgotten any details leading up to our day. Jess seamlessly took over communications with our vendors and put together a perfect timeline for the day. She put all of our families so at ease during rehearsal and orchestrated a perfect day. She took care of all venue preparations, picked up lunch for us as we got ready, held us to our timeline, handled rowdy guests, supported all our vendors, made sure the bride & groom actually ate both appetizers & dinner (lifesaver!), and handled little emergencies (ie, fixing a broken bustle on my wedding dress in record time) with incredible poise under pressure. SO many of our guests told us how impressed they were by Jess’s coordination & we are so thankful that she was with us on our wedding day! -

Jess is the absolute best! We had a small wedding (around 50 close friends and family), and Jess was a huge help with every step of the process as our Day-Of coordinator. She was also available prior to the wedding date to help with timeline and the final walkthrough (which was fantastic, because we did *not* know what we were doing!). She's super reassuring, chill, and very easy to work with. Our big day was everything we wanted, and went extremely smoothly. We'd happily recommended Jess to anyone. :) -

Working with Jess was by far the best wedding decision we made. She was responsive, knowledgeable, and detail-oriented. On the day of the wedding, Jess had a relaxed demeanor that made us feel so at-ease - I really felt like Jess would be able to handle anything that might go wrong. We were blown away by how fantastic Jess is. She is on top of literally everything and nothing gets past her. She was able to deal with our family and friends, many of whom have big personalities, to manage the entire wedding day seamlessly. For a large portion of the night, our DJ was completely MIA and Jess filled in for him like a true pro. She made us feel confident and taken care of all day. -

A True Wedding Blessing!
I don't even know where to start with Abe and my experience with Jessica other than a literal angel coming down and saving us from any stress for the wedding day. I hired Jessica for the month of the wedding planner because I had a long engagement period where I decided on most of my vendors and details and I can truly say that having her that last month was the biggest breath of air I got during my entire planning process. Wedding planning can be stressful, especially when it's the first time you ever have one and Jessica knew every possible detail there was that you could potentially forget. Even though I had hired her for the month before the wedding package, if I had any questions prior, she was ready to answer me quickly over email. Her communication is amazing, so fast at responding and it was super easy setting up Zoom calls to discuss details. Overall, she was so friendly, nonjudgmental of any questions I had, professional and great at communicating. I couldn't of ask for a better person to have and trust on my wedding day. April 2023 Wedding
Jess and her team at Dear Summer events provided day of coordination services for my wedding in April. Jess was super easy to work with. She helped me navigate vendor communications, did a great job making a detailed timeline, and was quick on her toes to help with a last minute venue change due to weather, along with many other things that she handled without even having to let me know :) Jess allowed me to let go on my wedding day and really enjoy the day. She was very friendly and my wedding party noted how great she was. Thanks Jess! -

I could not recommend Dear Summer Events and Jessica enough. I do not think my wedding day would have went NEARLY as smooth if I didn’t have her. I hired her for month of/day of coordination and the month before my wedding I felt an immediate and huge weight lifted off of my shoulders because of her. Look no further than Dear Summer (Jess) for your wedding! My entire family agrees that she was the best money we spent on our entire event. What are you waiting for?! Book Dear Summer! Jess was IRREPLACEABLE. I mean it when I say that we could not have had our wedding without her.
Jess excelled at all of the basic wedding coordinator duties- she's prompt, responsive, she deals with overly ambitious brides (me), she sets up the venue, and coordinates the ceremony and the rest of the wedding day schedule. But what makes her stand out is how well she does under pressure and unpredictable events.
We had a fierce storm roll in at the very last moment, right before our outdoor ceremony started. I was adamant about having our ceremony outside and so I was completely crushed, watching table arrangements being knocked over by the wind, broken glass, and of course, all of our guests running for shelter from the rain. I stood there in our reception tent with all of our guests looking at the dark sky, thinking that our wedding had been ruined. I literally could not move.
And this is the moment where Jess is worth her weight in gold: your wedding will be unpredictable, even if you have a 100 page document (me) to plan everything out, and you will need someone to think on-the-fly. With our permission, Jess swapped the cocktail hour with the ceremony time so that we had a chance to wait out the storm and still have the ceremony outside. It actually ended up being a great idea and everyone told us that they wished all weddings were in this order! She quickly got to work toweling off chairs, notifying vendors on site, and fixing decorations, while me and my (now) husband stood there unsure of what to do. Jess knew how important it was for us to have our ceremony outdoors and was willing to bend over backwards for us to make this happen. For the rest of the day, we looked to Jess to tell us where to go, what was next, and what we needed to do. If we had a request, she got it done. She was never more than a few feet away from us, yet somehow also conducted the entire event single-handedly.
All night, we had people coming up to us saying that our coordinator was incredible, level-headed, and organized. She was constantly walking around, scanning the venue and anticipating everything we needed and where we needed to be. At the end of the night, all we had to do was grab our car keys from Jess and leave. The entire venue had already been cleaned up and she had packed up our car for us, not to mention she had placed 2 water bottles in the front seat for us. My husband and I turned to each other multiple times in the night to say "thank god for Jess." -

From my first conversation with Jess, it was a no-brainer that we had to hire her for day-of coordination. Her calming demeanor and knowledgeable approach is exactly what I was looking for and needed for our wedding day.
Throughout the planning, Jess was always available for phone calls to help chat through any kinks, solidified a timeline and was there for moral support. She is such an encourager and provided great feedback for all of my many questions.
Jess knows how to corral a restless crowd in an extremely polite way. She solidified a timeline into a flawless event. Jess brings a calming sense to the chaos and knows exactly how to lead when things need to get done. Our day wouldn’t have been as seamless without her coordination and sensibility to jump in wherever needed. We couldn’t have imagined our wedding day without Jess! She made it a stress-free experience where we could really be in the moment. We can’t recommend Jess and Dear Summer Events enough! -

I found Jess on Wedding Wire and based on her previous reviews it was clear that I needed to reach out to her! She was quick to respond and we right away set up a call to discuss what I needed! We hired her for both my welcome party and wedding, and because of her both events were amazing! Her eye for detail is incredible, she listens to your vision and bounces ideas off with you, she responded right away to every question I had! She was truly amazing! If you are in the Virginia area and want your wedding to be zero stress you need to hire Jess! -

Jess (owner of Dear Summer) was our coordinator for the day and was absolutely AMAZING! From helping us to navigate a COVID reschedule and deal with a difficult vendor, to letting me vent a little and answering questions about appropriate tip amounts, she went above and beyond to make sure the few month before the wedding were as stress-free as possible, and made our wedding day effortless for everyone! I cannot recommend Dear Summer Events enough for a worry-free and seamless pre-wedding/wedding day experience. I also can't wait to visit the Dear Summer shop in Newport News, VA soon!

What would we have done without Dear Summer Events' help!! Jessica was our Day Of Coordinator for my daughter's wedding and I can only say wonderful things about her! She is so sweet, friendly, easy going, and knowledgeable, and immediately we put our trust in her and knew that she would make everything perfect! She was so reliable in meeting with us, and following through with all the details that she would be taking of! We always enjoyed our telecons with her because she was so attentive to our questions and concerns, and always provided sound advice to ease our wedding nerves; plus she was just so much fun to talk to! On the big day, she had everything under control while we just relaxed and enjoyed the day. Her biggest accomplishment that I have to mention was her quick flawless manner in which she handled our situation of converting the outdoor ceremony to an indoor ceremony! Without hesitation, she quickly orchestrated changing the tented patio, set up with guest tables, to have rows of chairs and an archway for the perfect ceremony site! Without a beat, she quickly got the wedding party on point for this new processional. The whole experience with Jessica was amazing, with no detail missed!! She is such a warm sweet person and I highly recommend her with 5+ stars for your wedding experience! -

She took care of rehearsal and it went like a breeze. We hired Jess for our day of coordinator, which was required by our vendor. I can't say enough positive things! We interviewed a few people prior to hiring Dear Summer, but after speaking with Jess I could tell she was the perfect vibe. Cool, calm, collected, and somebody I didn't feel like I would have to manage...I felt like we would even be pals outside of the craziness of wedding planning.
Jess was incredibly responsive prior to the event date, was always willing to jump on the phone if I needed anything (questions, advice, etc). She helped with our timeline and she took charge of all the vendor communications at the perfect time. We had a friend officiate and Jess helped my friend with the ceremony planning as well.
The day of our wedding I barely saw Jess but I knew she was constantly working behind the scenes to make everything perfect. I off-hand mentioned that I would probably want to get rid of my heals in 30 minutes and like clockwork she came back to grab them and had my flip flops. She was consistently paying attention to the details. It was a pleasure working with Jess and I would highly recommend to others. Thank you so much for help executing our day! -

We hired Dear Summer Events for its Day of Coordination services and I cannot be more pleased with that decision. Our first in-person meeting with Jessica, the owner of Dear Summer Events, was during our venue walk-through with our venue’s on-site coordinator and our caterer. Jessica immediately demonstrated her value by suggesting changes to our menu that saved us money and helped to make the flow of guest during the cocktail hour less congested. Her high level of service continued from that moment on. Jessica is a complete professional! Many people commented on her cool, calm, and collected presence during our wedding. She helped to set up our wedding venue, made sure the candles were lit at the right time, and worked seamlessly with our MC. She made sure all the decor and food was packed up and delivered to the designated persons at the end of the night. Essentially, she took care of things so that my husband and I could just dance the night away with our friends and family. As a bride that planned her own Nigerian Engagement Ceremony and Wedding, it was wonderful to know that everything was taken care of and that I did not need to worry about anything! My then-fiance was skeptical of the need to have a day-of-coordinator but was completely convinced after witnessing the services that were provided and the peace of mind it provided to me. I am so happy we hired Dear Summer Events and highly recommend their services! -
