Amazing day with the best coordinator!
Lydia was the best at helping for the day of and even letting me connect with her leading up to the day of my wedding. She took care of everything and I had little to no stress thanks to her. She made sure everyone and everything was in the right place at the right time and we couldn’t have had a more perfect day without her. 100/10 recommend using Dawn til Dusk! -

No brainer- go with them.
Lydia is the freaking best! We felt we were in great hands with her and she didn't miss a beat. So on top of it and made sure the wedding went as planned, which allowed us to enjoy our guests and wedding overall.
She was in communication with us on the big stuff and handled the small things on her own, so we could have a good time the day of our wedding. You cannot go wrong with Dawn til Dusk and we are so happy we chose them! Thank you Lydia- you made our day! -

Don't wait - hire Dawn 'til Dusk!
I hired Dawn till Dusk for day-of coordination, and it was probably some of the best money I spent for my wedding. Our wedding coordinator, Lydia, was with us a few months prior to the event; advising us on vendor relations, timelines, and generally keeping us on track - so it was much more than day-of coordination. The timelines they deliver are amazing - had so many details we’d never even thought of.
Lydia ensured my day as a bride was as stress-free as possible. I know we ran into a couple of issues with the room flip, but honestly, I wouldn’t have known, they made everything as seamless as possible for my husband and I. I would definitely recommend Dawn till Dusk for wedding coordination!

Amazing wedding day coordinator!
Dawn til Dusk was amazing! They helped so much with our day of wedding coordinating. I loved that they had price and time options that fit within our budget.
Lydia helped with our day of coordinating and came for an hour of our rehearsal as well. She was so nice, timely, professional and helped with anything and everything we needed. She had suggestions for us when we weren't sure of anything and she was well prepared.
We had a meeting before the wedding to nail down our timeline and that was so helpful! She was always quick to respond if I had questions. I would 100% recommend Dawn til Dusk for help with your wedding. You won't be disappointed! -

Dawn ‘til Dusk was amazing!!!
Sam & Sherry were incredible to work with!! After deciding to move states prior to my wedding, I knew I needed help with vendor coordination and final checklists for our wedding day, so no small detail would be forgotten. The Dawn ‘til Dusk team is everything we needed and more for our day of coordination! They helped with everything from finalizing all timelines to executing on the day of to make our dream wedding day come to life. Words can not express how thankful I am for their hard work behind the scenes, no small detail went unnoticed. My family continues to rave about how sweet and helpful Sherry was the entire day! Dawn to Dusk - June 2022 Wedding
We hired Dawn to Dusk for our wedding earlier this June. When we first started wedding planning I did not think that we had enough money in the budget to accommodate a wedding coordinator. As I got into planning I quickly realized how many pieces have to come together the day of the wedding to make the day happen....and it was stressing me out! Not only was Dawn to Dusk very affordable but signing their contract was one of the most stress reducing things I did in the planning process. We hired them for the rehearsal dinner and for about 6 hours of wedding day coverage.
The Dawn to Dusk team helped us with the timeline and brought up good things to consider (like views from assigned seats). Their communication amongst staff was also great as our initial Dawn to Dusk team member that was going to help us with rehearsal and the wedding fell sick a day before. They quickly shifted and adjusted with few questions to us and I never once felt like it wasn't going to run smoothly with the switch.
The day before the wedding we hired them for the rehearsal dinner which was SUPER helpful as they helped keep everyone in check so we could get the "not fun" part of the rehearsal out of the way. The day of the wedding I don't know everything they did for us because everything ran so smoothly, but know they helped set up centerpieces, light candles, direct vendors, refreshed the cake table, helped move guests through the guestbook/polaroid line, and helped keep the timeline in check. The only thing we wish we would have done differently was listen to their recommendation to keep them through all of the activities (speeches, first dances, etc.) because after they left there wasn't as much of a true leader of the timeline. Even my now-husband said hiring the Dawn to Dusk teams was one of the best decisions of the wedding planning process because he saw the value in having a true leader throughout the day witnessing their skills! -

My Dream Wedding Planner!!!
I could not have imagined a better person to help my dream wedding come to fruition than Sam! She was so kind and wonderful to work with, and so flexible with our budget. I had a horrible cold the weekend of my wedding, and could not have pulled off my wedding day without Sam. Not only did she help everything come together, but she made me feel so sane/calm so I could truly just enjoy the day. I couldn't recommend her more highly! P.S. I live in Eastern Iowa and her travel fees are WELL worth it and very affordable to have her come over from DSM!!!! Thank you, Sam, for the most magical wedding day! We couldn't have done it without you! -

Samantha, Lydia, and Claire were amazing in helping us plan our wedding! The timeline they make is so helpful and they ask so many questions I would have never thought of. The day of, they handle all the little details and help keep you on schedule, track down missing family members, deal with your vendors, and so much more. I didn't have to worry about a thing!
My husband from the beginning when I first hired the team, thought that having a day of coordinator was unnecessary. But even he admitted at the wedding that they were very helpful and did an amazing job keeping everything running smoothly, he did say he was even glad we hired them! -

Smooth sailing
I am so glad we hired Sam as our day-of- coordinator for our wedding 10/9/2021. Leading up to the wedding she helped us create a timeline and was available to ask any questions. She was so helpful at rehearsal, making sure we knew how the ceremony should proceed (we had a friend as an officiant so having someone there with experience was great). The day of the wedding it was such a relief to know that Sam was handling deliveries and vendors at the venue while the wedding party/family was off taking photos. Sam made sure everyone was where they needed to be for the ceremony and helped release tables for dinner at the reception. Overall she put my mind at ease for the wedding and I was able to relax (as much as a bride can relax) and enjoy our special day. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a wedding coordinator. -

Wedding Day Peace of Mind
Hiring Sam to to assist us with day of coordination was one of the best investments we made for our special day. I was at ease knowing that I my vendors, wedding party, and guests had a point person if they had questions or needed direction. Sam adapted to the continuous changes in weather and was always thinking ahead as to how this may affect the location and set up of our ceremony/reception. Sam is hands down amazing
I am so glad we booked with Dawn til Dusk! She is the easiest person to talk to! When I first met her it felt like we had been friends for years! She was always there when I had a question about anything! She was on top of everything and made sure we had everything in line to have the perfect wedding day! Sam. Was. Awesome!!! So personable yet so professional! She went with my husband and me to pick out the venue and thought of so many questions that never occurred to me! My overall experience with Samantha has been wonderful. She has gone above and beyond throughout the entire planning process and I couldn’t be more thankful for her insight and support. She has extensive knowledge in event planning and the wedding industry overall, which has proved essential especially during a pandemic. Disappointed
Initially when my fiancé (now husband) and I met with Lydia/Dawn til Dusk she seemed very promising, but our experience on the actual wedding day was very different than what we expected.
I will say she made a timeline and did well contacting vendors as well as she transported 6 flower arrangements from the church to the wedding reception. As the bride, I think I only had about 3-4 short interactions with her the entire day. She was often no where to be found and a few times I had to walk around the venue looking for her to help with issues that arose, but couldn’t find her. The only time she was available was the last few hours as she was seen leaning against the wall with her assistant. While she insisted she was 'doing her job,’ her attitude and lack of professionalism made it clear she was not invested in ensuring the day went smoothly. I left the day feeling very stressed and overwhelmed because numerous people came up to me and asked me questions the whole day, which I thought paying for day of coordination would ensure didn’t happen. After we were done doing sunset pictures Lydia came and got us and we were trying to start speeches, but guests were still outside so I asked Lydia to help usher guests inside. I, as the bride, had to usher all guests back inside myself because Lydia and assistant were nowhere to be found and completely left the area. ADDITIONALLY my mother in law wrote a negative but honest review and shortly after that she blocked me, my husband, and multiple other family members on all social media. That being said, we would not recommend Dawn til Dusk. -

Unfortunately, do not recommend.
We hired Lydia for day-of coordination for our outdoor wedding and also purchased extra hourly planning sessions to make sure she was familiar with all the details in advance. While a few things went smoothly, overall our experience did not meet expectations.
During our calls, we emphasized that our biggest need was help with set up and tear down. We even brought 15–20 friends and family to support, hoping Lydia would take a leadership role in coordinating those resources. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. I personally ended up staying longer than planned, cleaning up trash instead of getting ready for my big day, while Lydia and her team were seen taking a break.
Positives:
- Lydia created a timeline (based on the details we provided)
- She decorated the tables
- She ensured our family photo frames were packed safely, which was important to us
Challenges We Experienced:
- Lack of clear leadership in organizing the volunteers we brought to help with set up
- Vendor coordination challenges did not feel actively managed
- Ceremony participants (ushers, flower girls, ring bearers) didn’t receive direction on where or when to be in place.
- Selective willingness to help when issues arose
- Tear down was incomplete, was coordinated and led by a guest, and trash was left behind despite hiring additional assistants to help specifically with trash and packing up.
- Did not experience the calm, friendly partnership and easy relationship between coordinator and wedding party one would hope for; if anything interactions made things more stressful.
Feedback Shared by Guests and Family:
- Friends helping set up shared the coordination team ate their breakfast food without asking and while everyone was actively working to set up.
- Multiple people shared that when they approached her with questions or problems, she often replied “not my job” or “I don’t know”.
-Trash was still visible on tables as guests were arriving for the ceremony and was cleaned up by a guest
- Guests noticed Lydia making multiple trips through the appetizers during cocktail hour and without having discussed food as a part of the contract.
- A guest shared that members of the coordination team cut ahead in the buffet line, which felt inappropriate since all guests had not yet been served; Though we intended to extend the invitation, it was not discussed.
- When buses were delayed, a guest said they asked Lydia for support in which she didn't seem willing to engage directly with drivers onsite and instead suggested calling the bus owner; therefore this guest spoke with drivers and easily resolved the situation on her own.
While Lydia’s assistants were friendly and had a positive attitude, we did not feel that Lydia herself demonstrated the level of professionalism, problem-solving, or communication we anticipated. Outdoor weddings do have unique challenges, but we still believe the basics of coordination , professionalism, and leadership should be present. Unfortunately, based on our experience, we cannot recommend this service. -
