We are so incredibly grateful for David and the stunning photos he captured on our wedding day. He made everyone feel comfortable, and truly went above and beyond to make sure every moment was documented beautifully.
What stood out most about David was how personable he was with everyone. He made us feel relaxed and at ease throughout the entire day, and it was clear they were loved by our family and friends as well. Whether it was getting the perfect shot with our dog or capturing intimate moments with elderly relatives, David was patient, thoughtful, and made sure no one felt rushed or uncomfortable.
He was also incredibly open to trying different and creative shots, which allowed us to capture so many unique and beautiful moments. He brought our vision to life and helped us focus on just enjoying our wedding day, knowing we were in great hands.

The most thoughtful and brilliant wedding photographer
HIGHLY RECOMMEND David Perlman if you’re looking for a wedding photographer and videographer. Could not recommend him more. Wish we were getting married again to work with David again. David made my husband and I feel very comfortable from our first call, to our engagement shoot, to our wedding day and through designing our wedding albums. He also made my family feel comfortable and our bridal parties. He was always ready with a joke to make us laugh. He also asked us questions throughout the process to make sure we were getting what we wanted on our wedding day. The photographs and video are also so stunningly beautiful. We get compliments all of the time on the photos that David took. He really captured how magical that day was for us.

Wow. Wow. Wow. David is THE ONE! David and I met years ago and our paths crossed again when he photographed one of my bridesmen’s weddings in the fall of 2021. When my fiance and I got engaged in December of 2021, we didn’t know much, but we knew one thing for sure - we HAD to work with David. Not only is he an amazingly skilled photographer but he is THE person you want to spend one of the most special days of your life with. His attention to detail, ability to capture the energy of the moment, flexibility, creativity, and eye for shots are unmatched. Every moment of the process with David exceeded expectations. David provided so much detail but also the flexibility and openness to work with what we were envisioning. David is also extremely communicative. All of our conversations leading up to the wedding were so helpful and also not overwhelming! Planning a wedding is A LOT and David made us feel so comfortable and prepared for the day of. Something that was really important to us was ensuring that there was a balance between the real-life moments and the portrait element. He NAILED it and made posing for pictures easy during our engagement shoot and on the day of the wedding. If you aren’t used to posing in front of the camera, it can feel awkward. David has such a skill for making everyone feel comfortable AND making a day full of photos feel fun and exciting. David also brings so much joy and laughter to every space he is in. We wanted to spend the day with people who are not only amazing at what they do, but are just all-around awesome humans and that is David. I also want to share how amazing David’s assistant Brian is! Brian was so fantastic and another AWESOME human to spend our wedding day with. And then there's the photos! WOW! Epic. Amazing. Fun. Perfect. Everything we dreamed of and more. David is a joy to work with. Not only is he immensely talented, but he is also professional and a whole lotta fun :). My husband and I had a two year engagement, so we had our engagement shoot with David well before the wedding. He made us feel at ease and the photos were even better than we imagined they would be. We picked a single location, but David basically created three photo shoots in one by finding other fun sites around the location. He is able to masterfully manipulate lighting for the dramatic shots you want, while also capturing the more intimate and emotional close-up moments.
Sadly, after all of the waiting, there was another COVID surge right before our wedding in 12/2021. David ended up getting COVID the day before and was not able to shoot our wedding. He called us right away and already had the name of his alternate (Bryan) and set up a meeting. Bryan did an amazing job and really captured the style we were looking for when we found David. We didn't have to sacrifice the breathtaking silhouettes, drama, and candid moments we chose David for. Bryan was also calm and collected when we were going through a pretty hectic pre-wedding period. The editing and albums we selected with David came out wonderfully, and ultimately everything worked out. Everyone continues to rave about both our engagement and wedding photos and I am beyond grateful we found David and put our trust in a true professional, especially considering the circumstances of our wedding. We would highly recommend him to anyone looking to have stunning photos that capture the emotion and beauty of your special day! -

When looking for a photographer, we were immediately attracted to David’s style of photography. He’s able to really capture the emotion of the events he photographs, and that’s what we wanted. David was the first photographer that we met with and it was clear from the first few minutes of our discussion that he would be the only photographer we would choose. He is a consummate professional, but also is fun and puts everyone at ease—something that allows him to capture the most beautiful moments. We couldn’t have been happier with our engagement, wedding photos, and wedding videos! One thing that is extra special about David is that he is extremely giving with his time—he’s always available for Zoom check in, he stayed longer than planned for both our engagement and wedding shoots (because he was excited to capture the best possible moments for us), and he walks you through all the photos after the event to pick your engagement favors and set up your album. He makes the process so easy for the bride and groom and that’s the hallmark of an exceptional vendor. -

Wedding Photographer
Let me begin by telling you why we hired David. I had been searching online for a while and found a ton of photographers that did beautiful work. Their pictures were lovely yet were not quite what I was looking for. I couldn’t put my finger on exactly what that was until I luckily found David. As soon as I saw his pictures, I knew I needed him at our wedding. Obviously, his work is impeccable, but it goes so far beyond that. He is truly able to capture love and emotion through his photographs. He captures the moments you want to remember and relive. He is literally the only wedding planning decision I never second guessed. Why should you hire David? Obviously, his talent is clear. Moreover, he is just an incredible person all around. He is one of the kindest, caring humans I know. As a Covid couple, we faced a lot of challenges and David supported us every step of the way. He never hesitated to jump on a call and walk me through whatever I was trying to figure out. We postponed three times, so we talked A LOT. Fast forward to the day of, and things could not have gone smoother. David is exactly the energy everyone needs at their wedding. He is just as excited as you are but is able to keep everyone calm, while staying on schedule. He was able to capture every important moment but was never intrusive or in the way at all. I honestly cannot say enough good things about him. My family and bridal party all adore him as well. And, of course, our wedding pictures turned out absolutely incredible. -

David was phenomenal!!! My then fiancé and I decided to get married two months after our engagement so as you can imagine we had a ton to do in a limited amount of time. One of the first things on our to do list was to get a photographer. We immediately started googling around for photographers that would accommodate the short notice, during covid, as well as bring some creative ideas to our wedding. We were hoping for a small wedding with just our immediate family in a new apartment that we had yet to move into yet. Unfortunately one of the photographers we reached out to was unavailable, but FORTUNATELY for us, she recommended David.
David was a joy to work with from the moment we hopped on a zoom call for introductions to him walking us through the beautiful photo book that he put together. Both my wife and I did not want extremely staged photos and David did an amazing job of capturing beautiful and natural pictures.
All in all, David was just a joy. He was warm and funny, which is quite a task on a cold December day at the park, which is where we decided to take photos before the wedding. I would highly recommend him. -

David was the best wedding planning decision my husband and I made. Like everyone else, there were so many decisions to make when planning our wedding (venue, dress, cake, etc. etc.) but when it came to picking the photographer, David was an easy choice. My husband and I are a little more reserved so we wanted someone we felt comfortable with and who would capture those really special moments in an authentic way. David was even better than we could have imagined. He loves what he does and it comes through in the quality of his work. Also, personality matters and having someone like David (sweet, happy, patient, just a wonderful human) will make your special day that much better. Actually, a lot of our favorite moments from that day were with/because of David! He's simply wonderful from the first meeting, to building our album and beyond. You have a lot of choices to make when planning a wedding, save yourself the time/stress of debating photographers and go with David. You will not regret it. -

David was referred to me by someone in my alumni network. I reached out to him for a consultation and told him what we were looking for. Ultimately we hired him and he took engagement photos of my fiancé and me the summer of 2021 in Central Park. He was so imaginative and has an incredible eye. He took beautiful silhouette photos and an absolutely stunning photo of us featuring my engagement ring. He’s a true pro, incredibly warm and communicative. I would highly recommend him for any couple looking to capture a special moment in your life. -

The best wedding photographer possible
HIRE DAVID!!! David was hands down my favorite part of the entire wedding experience (aside from my husband of course). Not only is David an immensely talented photographer, but he's also a joy to be around. It's rare when you find someone who is truly living their dharma- doing what they love and are very very good at. You can tell he truly loves wedding photography and made me, my husband, and our guests feel comfortable in front of the camera. He understands the wedding circus and was a guiding light as we navigated a weird covid wedding. Having David with us on our special day made all the difference. I can't recommend him enough. I'm still going through the pictures months later and finding new beautiful things I didn't notice before! I could go on and on about how fabulous he is, but you should stop reading this and just call him! He's literally THE BEST. -

My husband and I were initially introduced to David and his work by our wedding planner who had worked with David several times before. Now, before I talk about the experience working with David (wonderful, magical, he is an absolute gem), the first thing that drew us to David was his incredible work. His photos are gorgeous and really showcase the couples. We decided right away that we wanted to talk more with him.
Our first phone call was great! David was warm and funny and asked a lot of questions to really get to know my husband and I and figure out how best to work with us. We spent most of the conversation just laughing and it became clear that this was definitely someone who we would enjoy working with. We booked him and scheduled our engagement shoot soon thereafter.
The engagement shoot was a great opportunity to really get to know each other and see how the photo part of the big day was going to work. David was great at getting us to loosen up, he was EXCELLENT at giving us direction that got us out of our heads and into the moment. He was also incredible at finding shots and details in the environment around us to help make the shots more interesting and alive. His attention to detail really helps make the shots extra special.
That rapport we had built over that first engagement shoot made our actual wedding day shoot go so smoothly. David knew us and what we wanted and we were able to get some truly beautiful shots. All that time that David spends to get to know you as a couple shines through in the photos and he makes it almost effortless. Working with him was a dream and we loved it so much that we hired him again for our larger wedding celebration next year (as we had to downsize the wedding due to Covid).
In addition to a wonderful working experience doing the shoots, getting your wedding album made by David is SO EASY! A month after our wedding we sat down and David showed us a mock up of our album that he put together entirely. We then went through and added or subtracted photos and pages, but doing it this way was so much better than having to put something together entirely by ourselves. I mean, David does all the work for you and it is GOOD WORK! I have friends who have been married for years who haven’t done their albums yet and here are my husband and I, two months after our wedding with our albums done and on our shelf. THANK YOU DAVID! -

David captured the pure joy and emotion that was shared by all during the Labor Day wedding of our son, Matt and our son in law, Chris. Not only did he take stunning photos of the happy couple, he also made certain to photograph each and every family member and guest. When we first received the email with the digital photo album, we just could not stop looking at the pictures. They allowed us to relive the day – we felt the same warmth we had experienced while listening to the boys pledge their lives to each other, we heard the music and the laughter of our nearest and dearest partying the night away, and we saw the most exquisite expressions on the faces of the people we love. Only a truly talented photographer is able to convey emotion so deep and so vital – David Perlman is that photographer! A few weeks later, we had a lovely Zoom meeting with him and we worked together to choose the pictures for a book of the wedding day. When our physical album arrived we were thrilled. It is simply amazing and we love everything about it! To see the photos printed on such gorgeous, high quality paper makes them even more vibrant and full of life! As David told us, the pictures should tell the story of the day - and he so lovingly and skillfully created a book that does just that. We have poured over it again and again, and have shared it with anyone who has walked through the front door! There are not enough words to express our delight! David’s expertise and abilities are truly gifts! Plus, he is one great guy - kind, personable, and a consummate professional! David Perlman was the absolute BEST. Getting incredible quality photos was a big priority for us. We really someone who would be able to capture the day as it felt to experience it. My husband and I are one of the many couples whose wedding planning was impacted by the covid pandemic. Our original photographer was meant to fly in from Florida but given the rise in cases we had to cancel just 6 weeks before our wedding. Enter DAVID PERLMAN. Our hair and make up vendor, Amy Klewitz from AK Beauty, recommended David and we could not have been more pleased. He was especially patient with us and our questions and was incredibly personable, reaching out to each of our families before the wedding (which they LOVED). He made the entire planning process easy and carefree. On the day of the wedding he was AMAZING. It was an all day outside event on an 85 degree August day, we had a wedding party of ~20 people, and we were dealing with social distancing and family requests. His work was flawless and he captured all of the moments we requested perfectly. We loved him so much, we can't wait to work with him again (and neither can our friends). Could not recommend him more! -

Not married yet, but David is so deserving of an incredible review that I am here giving my rundown of everything up to this point (contracting, engagement shoot, rescheduling my wedding because of COVID, etc), and I will absolutely be back to do it again after the wedding, but thought that this is helpful for people who are continuing to plan weddings, and who may or may not be nervous about taking the plunge in the current climate.
I have actually followed David's work on insta for two years. I was helping a friend with her wedding photog search, and another friend had recommended me to him as "the best wedding photographer in New York". I said "Yeah, right, okay," and followed him. Over the course of the next two years, I would see incredible photo after photo, all with heart, character, personalization, and true, pure love. Because David is so incredibly invested in every couple he works with, his photos have a really special and intimate type of charm that I truly believe only someone who takes the time to really know his couples - really, like a friend! - can capture.
As soon as I got engaged, David was the first vendor I messaged. I had nothing else yet, but I knew David was our guy. I even thought to myself, "Come on, be smart! Look around!" So, I did. I found, again, that it was very easy to find photographers who take a glamorous picture. Very few can take a picture that captures a moment, an essence, and most importantly, the real and raw self on an incredible day in their lives, through the lens of someone who is genuinely beside himself happy for the people he's shooting.
From day one, David was thoughtful, insightful, honest, respectful, and honestly was having so much fun, you'd never know it wasn't his first wedding. He got all the deets on our story. He graciously worked with our budget. He made personal touches to our contract that I never knew I'd appreciate so much (as someone who usually doesn't care about personalization). He listened to what we wanted, advised on what would work, and we got it done, with all smiles. He invited us to his holiday happy hour with all his other couples. Who DOES that? XD We all got to trade ideas and just be excited about weddings, and I STILL am getting recs from his other couples!
Our engagement shoot, again, felt like hanging out with a buddy who knew us really, really well. After our shoot, my fiancé said, "I want David to photograph our kids one day". Our pictures were stunning. I have never seen a picture of me that is so exactly me, even me at not my lightest weight, without the spanx that didn't arrive in time, just pictures taken in our apartment building (which you would never, ever guess). I STILL have people texting me to be like, "These are gorgeous. It makes me wish I got a better photographer."
When quarantine started, David emailed all of us to say, "1. how are you?, 2. here's what's going on and here's what I am available to do for you, 3. but really, how are you?" None of my other vendors even emailed, let alone was so willing to be part of the conversation about moving the date, what that would mean, what other couples were doing and going through, and what advice they could offer - because in the end, we're all in this together!
I cannot gush about David's talent, professionalism, thoughtfulness, consideration, and sincerity enough. If you are looking for someone who will truly capture your wedding, and work with you and for you to do it, you're in luck! -

Best photographer ever!
We are so fortunate that we selected David Perlman to be our wedding photographer. First, David is insanely talented, and we knew we were getting someone with great skill just based on his portfolio. What we quickly learned, however, was that not only is David an epic photographer, but he is the best person in the world. David is incredibly warm, kind, and funny, and really tried to get to know us as a couple, our family (with all its crazy dynamics), and our wedding party before the wedding, so much so that he quickly felt like part of our family. We think that really made the difference in how our wedding photos came out. Our photos were nothing short of spectacular - we are beyond thrilled with how they turned out. David captured all the little moments, not only of us, but of our guests too. He has a way of capturing candid moments of joy and laughter that shines through in all of his photos, something that is rare for wedding photographs. David is also extremely responsive over email and by telephone, and answered all of our questions with expertise and honesty. By the end of the night, all of our family and friends were complimenting David, saying how he truly immersed himself in the wedding to get the best photographs. David is easygoing, trustworthy, and transparent - he is the only one we would trust with the task of capturing our wedding photos. Truly, we cannot say enough good things about him. David was the best thing we spent money on for our wedding and we cannot recommend him highly enough. Book him now!!

David and I have been close friends for many, many years. I was a guest at his wedding, and we knew he and his husband would play an important role in our special day. At first, we didn't even want to consider David as our photographer, not because his photos aren't incredible, because they truly are, but because we wanted him to be an honored guest, be a part of the ceremony, and enjoy himself at the reception. But it became clear as we started doing research, and realizing that I only look normal photos when I am holding a baked good in my hands, that having one of my dearest friends there with me all day was just what we needed. David was incredible! Not only as a photographer, but as a human. His spirit and positivity is infectious and the exact right vibe you want on your wedding day. He smiles, he compliments, he encourages, he ignores (when necessary), and he delivers in more ways than you can possibly imagine. David, and his incredible team, kept me and my husband smiling all day. They got all of the photos we asked for, and them some, but more importantly he captured our joy and the incredible love throughout the day and the magic and whimsy of my hometown. Moreover, my fear of not letting David enjoy the day because he was working was a problem of my own design. He was thrilled to be there from the start. We got to spend more time together than if he was a guest and we shared so many special and intimate moments together. I honestly don't think I would have felt more loved, more beautiful, and more supported in those moments. When Peter and I saw our photos we gasped. They were beyond anything we could imagine and made the day seem even more like a fairytale than it did that day. He is talented, creative, kind, warm, and supportive. You will love every photo and have a new bestie by the end of your special day. -

From the moment we first spoke to David we just had a sense he would be the perfect fit. Our conversations and email exchanges were so full of joy and it helped us to feel excited during the crazy planning process. I have no words to talk about how wonderful David is. Not only is he an unbelievable photographer, but he is someone you truly want around you on the day of your wedding (and every day actually).
David put me at ease the second we talked on the phone. He understood me and what I wanted and more importantly needed on the day of my wedding. He worked within my budget, made me feel calm, and for that, I am so thankful.

When my husband and I began looking for a wedding photographer, as the bride I took it on as my job to research and find the perfect fit! I knew this was one of the most important elements of our wedding day so it was a big decision. I was given SO many referrals of different photographers including 2 friends referring David to us. There was something that stood out to me about David's photos and his vibe. It was a combination of the warmth of his personality and his ability to capture the true essence of the couple which he was shooting. After speaking with David on the phone and viewing all of his amazing work, those feelings were validated. I really felt like we found our perfect match in a photographer.
David helped set me at ease by going over every detail of how the day would run from beginning to end. As a bride planning a wedding, there are so many parts in motion that can feel overwhelming so it was very reassuring and comforting to have someone take the wheel for a big part of the day. I had complete confidence in David!
On our wedding day, David showed up on time with a big smile and started taking the "getting ready" photos of myself and my bridal party in our hotel room. He was unassuming yet gave the perfect amount of warmth to ease some nerves. He was never distracting. The getting ready photos came out absolutely beautiful. David was able to capture my bridesmaids and I walking to the ceremony in the coolest way. Those pictures came out so fun and I continue to receive so many compliments on the realness of those pictures. I can't say enough about how David took the pictures during our ceremony. First of all, he would make a good spy because I never knew he was there, and I don't think anyone did!! Haha. He captured each moment so beautifully. The posed bridal party and family photos post-ceremony were so much fun and came out so perfectly! Shot in front of a brick wall by Brooklyn Bridge Park, the combination of the Brooklyn city feel with class and elegance was on point!
David went out of his way to hire a photographer for our cocktail hour so we would not miss a detail. This meant so much to me when I found out he did that!! We were able to get pictures of our beautiful setup, food, decorations, etc to see every detail of our reception. David captured the dancing in such a fun way! He has the innate ability of truly capturing the essence and personality of everyone, and he definitely did this for all of our guests.
I also have to add - the way David took control of the party was amazing! My husband has a larger than life family and sometimes they all want to chime in with their ideas at the same time. David was able to take the reins and reel everyone in which can be a challenging thing to do. He did it in the perfect way!
Our photos were delivered to us in a very timely manner and we couldn't be happier with the results.
In close, we couldn't be happier with our decision to have David Perlman as the photographer for our wedding day. He exceeded every expectation with personalized care, a timeless yet modern style, and a fun and caring demeanor. -

The best!!!
David is the best! He was truly excited about our wedding from the first time I spoke to him. He had such a positive energy throughout the whole process, and so many of our guests commented on how wonderful he was at our wedding. He was also so organized- I always knew what to expect from him and when. I didn’t know how incredibly valuable that was until I was in the middle of planning, but David was always on top of everything! Last but not least, the pictures- They are a dream come true! We’ve gotten so many compliments on the quality of the photos and David’s amazing work. We are so lucky to have them to remember our wedding by. Hiring David was hands down the best vendor decision we made for our June 2019 wedding! He is a DREAM to work with - super friendly and kind, and an absolute professional. The engagement photos he took were stunning (we even used a few for our invitations), and the teasers we've seen from the wedding are insanely beautiful! It's so clear he loves what he does, and he's so skilled at capturing both the big and little moments so perfectly. One of the things I was drawn to about his work is how at ease and genuine everyone seems in his photos, and now I understand why - it's impossible not to feel comfortable and happy in his presence! He's also super organized and very on top of the details. I majored in photography in undergrad, so I knew that finding the right photographer would be one of the most important things for my big day. We found David’s portfolio by chance when we were planning our City Hall ceremony, and we were immediately drawn to his style. His photos were not just beautiful, but also intimate, playful and full of joy. We contacted him about photographing our trip to City Hall, and after a brief conversation we realized we wanted him to shoot our destination wedding in Italy as well. Throughout the planning, David was warm and enthusiastic, so genuinely interested in our story and plans, and so deeply caring about our experience of working with him. He was also incredibly professional and prepared. He took the time to learn everyone in our family’s names and discuss all of the details well ahead of time to ensure that we didn’t have to make family tree intros or think through any key shots at the events themselves, while at City Hall or during our Tuscan wedding six weeks later.
At the events, he immediately put everyone at ease with his bubbly yet calming demeanor. Everyone raved about how friendly and kind he was. He was able to really capture the spirit and emotion of the day, and the joy on everyone’s faces, with an authentic intimate feeling, while somehow never getting in the way of the festivities themselves. We were reluctant to spend too much time posing for formal pictures, and so he managed to catch us for just a few minutes here and there and still create amazing portraits that burst of color and light. In Tuscany, he and his assistant (his husband Trey) worked tirelessly to document all of the details of the day, and even stayed later than planned so they could photograph us cutting the cake. At the end of the night, just after he’d packed up, David graciously agreed to pull out his camera again for one last photo of a family member who didn’t get to pose with the bride, making her feel special at the end of the evening.
It seems as though David really loves weddings, and has the perfect job translating that love into art. He made the photography at our wedding fun, and his photos are just gorgeous. I’m so happy we found him and I super highly recommend him! -

There are no words to describe how phenomenal David is! I have never met someone who is so passionate about what they do or so caring about the people they work with. He brings so much energy, encouragement, and positivity and it makes working with him such a wonderful experience. My husband and I were shy and nervous about doing our engagement photos and about the wedding, but with David by our side we couldn't help but feel comfortable and easygoing about it all. His passion is contagious and he makes everyone around him better. He's even mother-in-law approved! He went out of his way to remember people's names and made it a point to get to know us as people. My friends and family still can't stop telling me about how much they loved working with him! On the day of, he had a way about him that made me feel so happy and beautiful. He was everywhere all at once and he captured every moment and all of the emotions of the day. He is so attentive to detail, which makes all the difference! He even remembered to tell my bridesmaids to take off a hair tie on her wrist so it wouldn't show up in pictures. Also, maybe my most memorable moment was when he was all packed up to leave and saw that my husband and I were having a timeless moment that we would want to remember and took the initiative to unpack his gear to capture a few more pictures. Going above and beyond doesn't even do him justice! He's super accommodating with other vendors and made it feel like everyone was on the same team. When you meet him, you immediately want him to be your best friend because he's that awesome and charismatic. We are so super grateful for you, David! Thank you so much for everything! David shot our Key West wedding just over 2 weeks ago and was a total super star. Not only is he extremely talented (I would never hire another Photographer for the rest of my life), but he was so kind and organized and really made the day feel seamless. He genuinely cares about capturing all the emotions and telling your personal love story through photography. Always responsive, super knowledgeable, and he truly cares so much about his clients. Sarah Sent on 01/17/2019I knew from the first ten minutes of speaking, that he would be our photographer, and it was the best decision I made.
Our guests won’t stop raving about David! David is not only the most talented and creative photographer I know, but what sets him aside from others is his true sincerity, commitment, and support throughout the whole planning process and wedding day. Planning a wedding can be very stressful at times. I remember I would always go to David for advice, or to simply talk if I was having a moment. My husband and I would make jokes that David is better at calming my nerves than he is! My first impression of David was “wow, this guy is really on top of his game!”. I received the nicest voicemail, full of excitement wanting to meet me over the phone. What also sets David aside from others is his genuine interest in getting to know you and your spouse. Asking how we met, where we live, what we do, etc…. before you know it, we were chatting up a storm! Majority of vendors I inquired with were instantly pushy and jumped right into pricing details, but your special day means more to David than just that. I knew from the first ten minutes of speaking, that he would be our photographer.
We first met the morning of our (complimentary) engagement photoshoot. His big smile and energy was so refreshing to see at 4:30AM in the morning. Yes, our engagement shoot was at 4:30AM!! We instantly connected, and we jumped right into the sunrise photos on the Brooklyn Bridge. My husband and I felt so natural in front of the camera because David made us feel so comfortable, like no one else in the world existed. People to this day comment on his brilliant work. Somehow (although not surprising), he was able to get shots of us on the bridge without a single person, animal, strange object in site. People thought we rented the entire bridge!
Now fast forward to the wedding day. David arrived at the bridal party room (ON TIME), full of energy and ready to get to work! From the detail shots to the candids, DAVID DIDN’T MISS A THING!!! He naturally fit in with our group, and really hit it off with our guests. Everyone comments on how impressive David is at work (so impressed a family member hired David to take all her company headshots!) Literally running around the room to capture the most perfect moments, it was as if he had a magical gift of being in multiple places at once. David made a huge effort to get pictures of our guests, and it really made them feel special too. I look back at our gallery multiple times a day, and love to see all the cute couple and group shots. The action photos on the dance floor are incredible! I was able to re-live the party and certain moments I couldn’t physically be at the time.
Choosing David was the best decision I made. We became friends and keep in touch to this day. I really miss working together and always think of future occasions he will photograph us again. David, if you are reading this (of course you are!), prepare yourself for future photoshoots of our anniversary, pregnancy, baby Dubin’s, Pickles birthday, and plenty more!

David is truly one of the best wedding photographers you will find. Not only is he incredibly gifted, he is extremely passionate about his work. My fiancé and I had our engagement photos taken on a very chilly afternoon in busy Central Park. Despite the fact that my fiancé can, at times, be a little awkward -- especially when it comes to taking pictures together -- David managed to put our minds at ease and helped us ease up. It was such a beautiful and emotional shoot and we are eternally grateful for his artistic vision. The photos speak for themselves and our love shines through.
In terms of professionalism, David is exceptional. After we viewed the photos we quickly (too quickly!) made our save the dates and had them sent out. Unbeknownst to us, we had made a few errors on them and were completely devastated at the prospect that we may have to just stick it out and use the ones we messed up.
I decided to take a shot in the dark and ask David if there was anything to be done. He went ABOVE AND BEYOND to fix the issue and edit our save the dates with every single request of ours in mind. They are truly beautiful and we are so thankful for his gracious consideration regarding this issue.
Lastly, David is extremely communicative and timely. If you send an email/text, he will be back to you within the day always there to help or provide feedback. His photos speak for themselves. He is so talented and really just a very special and genuine human being. We love him so so so much and sing his praises to everyone who asks about our photos.

There aren’t enough adjectives to properly describe how much we loved working with David Perlman Photography for our September wedding! From our initial emails exchanged with David to our brief but incredible get-to-know-each-other phone call, I knew that we were making the right choice for us. He answered all of our questions quickly and thoroughly, giving us lots of options and outlining the costs very clearly. In the brief amount of time in which we were vetting photographers, David stuck out as attentive and personal, not just invested in our day but in helping us continue our love story.
For our engagement shoot, we chose the High Line and David got there right on time to meet us on a drizzly evening. David was helpful in finding the right location, always willing to try something creative, including some light trespassing and lying on rail tracks! Despite the weather and the agreed upon 2 hour photo shoot, we spent about 4 hours with David, always laughing. Greg and I felt closer after that evening, sharing the awkwardness of posing in front of a camera became a really cute bonding experience. David will disarm you with his smile and his "awwww" as you turn towards the camera. He is truly meant to be a wedding photographer.
Between the engagement shoot and the wedding day, David checked in for shot lists and day of timeline. I felt like he listened to my needs and was prepared to look for the type of shots we were asking for. On the wedding day, he constantly appeared to capture the cutest moments and the tenderest embraces. When the time came for family photos, he balanced my needs with those of my family. He was sweet and funny, coaxing smiles from even the most serious of our wedding guests. Never have I worked with someone who makes everyone smile so effortlessly. Our guests were even impressed.
In the moments when David pulled Greg and I aside to take couple photos throughout the night, we were thankful to have the precious time to ourselves. It was an effort to remove ourselves from the party but so worth it. These are the moments we remember the most vividly; slinking into the neighbors yard to take backlit photos or climbing onto the retainer wall for sunset photos. It is in these moments, whispering our favorite Chinese food orders to each other, that we learned what a wedding day should be.
We are so happy with our choice to include David in our wedding day plans. We would do it all again in a heartbeat. Plus, we gained a friend who we can't wait to see again.
David- we'll be brainstorming reasons to set up our next meeting. Our 1 year anniversary is right around the corner :) -

He is charming and flexible, and easy to work with. He takes the time to get to know you and what you are hoping to capture in your photos, and he delivers! Photo shoots can sometimes be awkward, but our engagement shoot with David was so much fun, and the pictures were just gorgeous. David was a friend and colleague prior to hiring him as our wedding photographer. He shot our engagement and wedding photos. His attention to detail is impeccable and he always made me feel safe and like a star. We appreciated how much of a ninja he and his staff were on our wedding day (my husband and I don't like when you're at a wedding and the photographer is in everyone's face or pulling focus from what's going on, especially during a ceremony, and David is really good at getting the important shots while blending into his surroundings). Our albums, prints, and parent albums came out gorgeous and I also plan to purchase some more prints to gift to friends and family. My only critique of David is that he gets so inspired sometimes (think kid in a candy store) and you might have to reel him in a bit lol. I would recommend David to any couple. He'll really take care of you! -

Best Photos Ever
I could not be happier with our wedding photos. Working with David was a joy--it always felt like talking to an old friend. Our on-site photographers were Bryan and Blaze, and wow!! I truly cannot imagine better wedding photos. They captured all the little moments and emotion. My family was truly amazed by the photos.
