  Attentive to the Vibe

  We found David because he was a preferred vendor for our venue and he proved why he’s preferred. He’s charismatic, friendly, helpful, and works with you every step of the way. He provides easy to put together forms to set up your music for the night. The vibe on the dance floor is a top priority. David made sure to have proper pronunciation of every person he introduced, ran fantastic ceremony sound (even putting together special mixes we asked for) and even better party for the reception. We will hire David again is we ever need a DJ again.

  Professional, Consultative, Dynamic

  David was incredible. We threw several curveballs at him and he adjusted very well and helped make the time special! Our venue layout was a challenge when officiating the ceremony and we also gave him our first dance song five minutes before, and he put the entire show on with zero stress.   David Newton Will Make Your Event One to Remember

  My wife and I had the pleasure of working with David for our wedding back in August. Like many, we had to postpone our celebration due to Covid, so we had high expectations for our day, and David helped us immensely in seeing those expectations through.
  
  One of the main things we wanted when we began to plan was a DJ who wouldn’t simply play music and maybe say a thing here or there, but someone who would create an atmosphere of fun and entertainment that would keep the party going until the very last song. David was amazing to work with and made us feel so supported in making our day exactly how we envisioned it.
  The song choice was spot-on and kept everyone on the dance floor, and his natural charisma made him the perfect emcee to keep the party going the entire night.
  
  We cannot recommend David enough! He will do everything in his power to make your day the best it can be, and he will make your event one that you and your guests will never forget.

  Best Wedding DJ Ever!

  We booked David for our wedding in June 2021 and it was one of the best decision we made. He was excellent in communicating, always responded very quickly to email and calls, and was a HUGE help in helping us figure out missing details while planning the wedding! On the actual wedding day, he was incredibly professional but also super energetic and brought a lot fun to the entire day by making jokes and interacting with our guests to make everyone feel welcomed and included! He added in all of our favorite songs on the dancefloor and did an amazing job keeping the dance floor packed full of people all night so that we could have an amazing party with our family and friends. Multiple friends and family members have told us how fantastic of a job he did and how we had the best DJ they had ever seen at a wedding - hands down. David, is absolutely amazing and we would highly recommend him for any event you have!

  David Newton one of the best wedding DJs in LA

  David was one of our best choices of vendors for our wedding. We originally booked him before the pandemic, but of course had to postpone for quite some time and David was willing to work with us every step of the way. David has excellent planning materials that really helped us figure out what music to use for each and every step of our wedding. Not only that, but with his materials we were able to focus in more what our actual timeline would be.
  
  David was also more than willing to help move things along during the wedding, transitioning us from each part to the next. Of course, most importantly he was an excellent DJ and master of ceremonies. He played all of the songs we specifically requested and played a great mix of other music that fit right in. He was able to get everyone on the dance floor at one point or another and really helped to make our day so incredibly special. He has great communication skills and was very timely with everything we needed. We would highly recommend him for any kind of event.

  David was an 11 out of 10. And this rating is coming from someone that has former DJ experience. David DJ'd my brother's wedding a week ago at Bel-Air Country Club. It was big stakes and he killed it. He kept the dance floor packed the entire time. ENTIRE time. Furthermore, his choice of songs walked the perfect line between dance pop that people really do want to hear and some deeper cuts that people love to hear but DJ's rarely play. Not to mention, he was an AWESOME MC for the night (he has standup comedy experience I believe). I will be recommending David to everyone.   Best dj ever!

  In my experience with wedding receptions, the DJs either make or break the party. That being said, I was nervous to select and hire a DJ for our wedding. My wedding coordinator recommended David Newton to me, and I am so thankful that I went with her suggestion! David was professional and organized but also fun and energetic, and he did everything I could have asked him to do to make both our ceremony and reception go off without a hitch. For example, I was very particular about when I wanted certain verses of my processional song played, and he nailed it! He also had the vast majority of our guests joyously dancing the night away (and he even joined in on the dancing). David Newton was kind and relatable, his song choices were perfectly reflective of my now husband’s and my personalities and shared faith, and overall, he is an awesome DJ! You won’t be disappointed if you hire David Newton as your wedding DJ!

  Look no further!!!

  David was the DJ at our wedding and he far exceeded all of our expectations. We didn’t give him much guidance at all about what we wanted, yet he still blew it away. He had everyone on the dance floor, even those who were never dancers before. He played the best mix of music. To top that off he was such a phenomenal emcee. He was funny and kept everything running smoothly. I have had people nonstop complimenting the music at our wedding and him. So many people asking for his information so they can book him too. Don’t hesitate. Just book him. He will make your wedding incredible.

  Beyond best dj!

  We hired David after putting out a more non-conformed music preference call, we certainly did not want the "basic" wedding party, compared to the run of the mill DJ's. He came highly recommended for music elitist like us and our guests. And David exceeded all our expectations. From before the wedding during the planning, to our most amazing day. Any request by us pre-wedding, he was on top of it! We barely were sitting down for dinner without 2-3 guests telling us they LOVED the music and it was SO us! And we had not even got the party started! He gets your vibe ten fold. I truly believe a DJ makes or breaks your wedding, so this one area we were not going to compromise on. David is a blast, quite charming, affable and quite gregarious so he is able to get the party started, and keep it going! Our crowd is hard group to impressed due to many talented musicians in our creative guest count, including my husband, and he impressed the best of them! We can not recommend David enough for your wedding or next social event. His talent and professionalism mixed with a blast of an fun attitude help make our day the party of the year! Indelible music sentiments left on our lives beginning together as husband and wife. Thank you David!!

  David is such an amazing DJ. All of our guests were asking us information about him and got his card for their future weddings. David really customizes the packages for you and helps with any timeline needs you may have. We had a blast and so did our guests. Highly recommend. (The DJ really makes the party so hire David!)

  From the moment we met David, my bride and I could tell that we were in the best imaginable hands heading into the most important day of our lives. How can one be both confident enough to convey the excitement of your evening and incredibly humble/classy at the same time? David Newton is how. David has a doctorate in understanding exactly the song the dance floor wants to hear at exactly the right time. With that said, he exhibited a posture of openness to letting us steer the musical choices. My wife and I happened to not take him up on this (and were rewarded handsomely for it -- it was almost embarrassing how many people approached us in the weeks after our wedding raving about the dance floor) but we could tell his offer was 100% sincere. Finally, in addition to the class and charm that are intrinsic to him as a person, David is blessed to hail from South Africa, meaning that the handful of organic and un-intrusive "announcements" that are made throughout the evening (cake-cutting, etc.) are delivered in his velvety smooth accent. My wife and I really felt like this elevated the evening with a flourish of international sophistication. David was a 10 out of 10.

  David was a wedding lifesaver! Our previous DJ went MIA a couple of months before the big day (another story for another day!) and we began scrambling for a replacement! Luckily, we found David who was super helpful, reassuring, and accommodating! Our wedding was a lot to juggle in terms of varying music tastes and David handled it seamlessly without even breaking a sweat! He gave us total confidence in his abilities leading up to the wedding and the day of he delivered! He kept the event moving along while also keeping everyone entertained and on the dance floor! All our guests loved him because he was so fun and we would absolutely recommend him and will be using him for any future events. Thanks for saving the day David!   David played a huge part in making our wedding amazing! We booked him about 10 months out and did a quick phone call to just introduce ourselves and discuss some very general ideas. He immediately sent us some planning sheets, which helped us a great deal in keeping track of music we still needed to decide on (for both the ceremony and the reception).
  
  About three months out, the contact with David intensified. We met in person once to go over the planning sheets, which we had partially filled out and decided on what still needed to be done. During this process David had some real good suggestions on how to incorporate some ideas we had and make our day extra special. We had another quick phone call about one week before our wedding to make sure everything was set and discussed some last minute changes we wanted to make. David was super flexible with all of this and reassured us that everything was going to be just the way we wanted.
  
  Everything went super great on the day of our wedding. David worked with our other vendors to make the day go smooth. He played the music we wanted during our ceremony, right on queue and at a perfect volume. He did all the introductions during our reception, with respect and a great sense of humor, and kept the whole night flowing. He played all the songs we wanted to hear and had a great feel for what music people liked and because of that, he managed to keep everyone on the dance floor until we had to leave our venue. All of our guests keep on telling us how great the music was and how much they liked David.

  Working with David was the absolute best!!! Everyone walked away from our wedding not only talking about how amazing they thought the overall experience was, but specifically how great David was. We have been to a lot of weddings and surprisingly most people don't have an MC, which really helped with our flow. We were all about having good flow! He directed everyone with light hearted humor and just kept the night going perfectly. He played the perfect music as we discussed, not to mention was just such an easy vendor to work with. We couldn't have asked for anyone better to keep our guests pumped, dancing and having an overall great time.

  Working with David was the absolute best!!! Everyone walked away from our wedding not only talking about how amazing they thought the overall experience was, but specifically how great David was.   My wedding planner suggested David and we're so happy we listened to her! He DJed and also MCed our wedding. Our guests looooved David, he played upbeat, current and age-appropriate music for the cocktail hour, dinner reception and dancing segment.
  
  About 9 or 10 weeks away from the wedding day he will ask you to fill out a questionnaire of your wedding party and family for introductions, reception program, and music for all parts of the program.
  
  David was very entertaining and professional, seriously, our guests were amazed by our DJ/MC choice! He was professional as in taking our delicate family introductions seriously--divorced parents and memorial acknowledgments, and even the centerpiece giveaway game was hilarious and appropriate.
  
  David is very good at reading the wedding guests "vibe" and his song selection was so on point. Some songs I was surprised (and happy!) he played because we had such a diverse group: a mix of current and 2000's pop, dance, disco/funk and 90's hip-hop. My husband and I loved it so much we asked David for the song history so we could create our wedding day Spotify playlist!
  
  My husband and I are very relieved that we went with David's suggestions on music choices because if we had it our way, we would have only played the type of music we liked. David convinced us to play a variety of party music so the majority of our guests will recognize the songs and dance/sing along (and for the hip-hop, David played the radio-edit versions, hah!).
  
  Also, David is South African so his accent was another entertaining bonus for our guests! Definitely made our female guests swoon!

  I'm a wedding coordinator and have had the pleasure of working with David on several occasions. Let me just say that he is ALWAYS a big hit at the weddings. I don't know if you guys know but not only is he a DJ but he's also a stand up comedian.... which makes him even better at what he does because he is an entertainer in every sense of the word. David interacts with wedding guests and keeps them dancing and laughing the whole night. His music selections are incredible and the way he transitions from one song to the next is so seamless you can't tell where one song ends and the other begins. That's a big one to me! As a coordinator I get to see A LOT of different type of DJs and I can honestly say that David Newton is the best of the best!!
  
  With that said, when it came time for a charity fundraiser I was helping to plan I instantly considered asking David to be the Master of Ceremonies. I honestly didn't know if he would be available, especially since it was a charity event on a Saturday night. Boy was I wrong!! When I reached out to David he was very excited about the opportunity and made himself available despite having to fly back and forth between LA and SF for work!! The night of the event, he was a HUGE hit and had the audience laughing any time he was on the mic. All of the attendees, committee and board members absolutely LOVED him!! It's been three months and everyone still talks about how great he was. We've already decided that we're inviting him back for next year!! ;-)

  A wedding must - have

  David is an absolute joy to work with. My husband and I are both musicians so we were very particular when it came to picking a DJ for our wedding. We first experience David at a friend's wedding and were immediately blown away by his skill in not only mixing and choosing songs, but gracefully leading guests through the program. He had such an air of professionalism, suave, and joy that made everyone in the crowd gravitate toward whatever he was doing. After this experience, we were HOOKED!
  Through the entire process, David was extremely friendly, accommodating, and professional. He explained his take on DJ/Emceeing and was open to our ideas of how the day would go. I felt 110% confident and comfortable to tell him what we wanted and discuss options. As the big day got closer, we ran over things and he took it from there. My husband and I were THRILLED with how David did and received compliment after compliment on how great he did and how smooth everything felt.
  Overall, David is an absolute STAR. He is brilliantly talented at what he does and it is highly evident that he constantly works to heighten his craft. Don't make the mistake of going to someone else. Hire David, you won't be sorry you did!
