We could not be happier with our choice to get married at Danfords! The grounds and views are stunning, event spaces gorgeous, and staff second to none. Our guests could not stop raving about the quality of the food, and even more so, the service. From the very beginning Annmarie L. treated us like family and made sure we had everything we needed and wanted. Daisy the maître d’ was unbelievable and Tara the bridal attendant was beyond anything we could have asked for. We could not imagine a better place to have a gathering of any kind than Danfords!!! You absolutely made our wedding and we are forever grateful!

We choose Danford's/Pearl Catering because we loved it's waterfront location and the hotel's history. We couldn't have made a better choice! Our wedding coordinators Annemarie and Elyse went over and beyond assisting us with every detail from when we booked in January up to our wedding day on 10/11/25. We were able to do everything we wanted to and stay within budget. We were so impressed with the food and the professionalism of the entire staff from our bridal attendant, to the servers and bartenders. Our waterfront ceremony was like a dream with the ferry and boats in the backdrop. Our guests had a wonderful experience. Everyone loved the food and we had a lot of options to choose from. We had only 45 guests and the Coastal ballroom was the perfect size, even though it holds more than twice the amount of people, it didn't look half empty. The atmosphere was beautiful. Everyone was on the dancefloor all through the wedding. We spent the night in one of their beautiful rooms and woke up to a view of the water the next day. We couldn't have made a better choice!

We had the best time having our wedding block at Danfords! First off, the location is beautiful! We also worked with Alexa who was amazing! She was extremely sweet and so responsive. One time I was being a crazy bride and asked how many plugs were in the suite we were planning on getting ready in and she went and counted them all to confirm (lol). We also had our next day brunch in one of the rooms and Alexa made it go off without a hitch! We were extremely happy with our time and experience with Danfords. If I could give any advice it would be to try to reserve as many rooms as you will need for your hotel block since it is a small hotel and books up fast. You will not be disappointed!

My husband and I have never been one to care much for drowning in debt to pay for a wedding, so it was incredibly difficult to find a venue/wedding coordinator on Long Island that didn't patronize/judge us for seeking a small, intimate wedding. The wedding is primarily about our marriage, not the guests--and we were honored enough to find that loving support from Danford's incredible team. A very special shout out to Christine, Alexa, Vicky, Gabby, and Tia for helping us celebrate a daytime wedding of 77 guests that cost a total of less than $7,000. You heard that right, a wedding does NOT have to break your bank, and CAN be something you two look forward to saving up towards. Christine, the wedding planner, is so attentive. She provided months of open communication via phone/email as well as flexibility with our requests that strayed away from traditional wedding practices. For instance we didn't have a DJ--we played music through a Spotify playlist, we didn't bring additional decorations as the venue was beautifully decorated for the holidays, and we had the option to opt out of a cocktail hour and replace it with simply a few appetizers prior to the main courses. Christine showed initiative when she noticed something we missed, and it was a privilege to work with her. Vicky, the banquet manager/Maître d', provided the most delicious menu that everybody just RAVED about. Seriously. The food at Danford's is unlike any other wedding food--they provide the most flavorful, filling, and diverse selection of food that also accommodates to all dietary restrictions. Vicky also coordinated directly with my maid of honor and pastor regarding every detail the day of so that we didn't have to experience an ounce of stress. Alexa and her kind-hearted personality helped us coordinate room blocks and hotel reservations for our guests and wedding party. We can't thank her enough for taking care of our guests while simultaneously making us feel so special at Danford's. Gabby is an incredible member of the team who was like an angel that popped out of nowhere. She bustled my dress without asking, packed the extra plates for guests who did not make it to the wedding + had them sent to our hotel room afterwards, and graciously coordinated the catering team around our busy photography schedule. Last but not least, thank you so much Tia for always picking up our phone calls and passing our message along to the rest of the team without fail. Because of Tia, there wasn't any miscommunication during the wedding planning when I wasn't able to reach the others. I never write reviews for anything, but I just have to for Danford's because I'm so honored to have experienced a perfect wedding. And by perfect I mean that my husband and I got to hang out with all of our friends and family, shed so many tears of joy and laughter, and didn't worry about a thing because we had the professionalism and support from the Danford's team. If you're a couple reading this and you guys just don't have the energy to spend $50,000 on a wedding, I can personally guarantee you two a beautiful, elegant, and unforgettable wedding at Danford's.

Great food, great service. A week before our wedding, our main contact had left Danfords. But the new wedding sales coordinator is much more eager and responsive than the previous woman we worked with. Vicky the Maitre’D is amazing.

My wedding day was so wonderful, I wish I could do it every day. Lynn helped to make the process easy and the maitre'd was outstanding as well. They catered to our every need. The food was delicious, everyone talked about it. The ambience was perfect. I am so grateful that they helped to make my wedding perfect!

Wow! We had our reception at Danford's this past June and we could not have asked for a more beautiful and memorable day! Lynn Fisk and Vicky Castillo could not have been more organized and helpful leading up to the event. They had thought of every single detail and were accommodating on anything we had requested, making the event feel so special for us. They made the entire celebration as low stress as it possibly could be! During the day of the wedding, everything went seamlessly. We had plenty of food, no lines at the bars for drinks at any point in the night, and the venue was beautiful! A special thank you to Gabby and Jamie, who took care of us all night, making sure that the bride and groom, parents of the bride and groom, and bridal party had everything they needed the whole evening. We truly could not feel more fortunate to have had our wedding reception at Danford's, as the service was outstanding, the food was delicious, and the venue and environment were stunning! We have received so many compliments on it being a beautiful wedding and such a fun reception, and we cannot thank them enough for making our wedding day an unforgettable one!

Chao did such amazing job photographing our wedding this past July! From the moment we had our introductory phone call to the day of the wedding Chao went above and beyond what we ever even expected. The photos are beautiful and captured both the formal and more silly parts of the wedding (and my husband and I both LOVE the dance floor photos). He even helped the groomsmen with their boutonnieres! I would recommend Chao to anyone looking for a professional, relaxed, and hardworking photographer who is amazing at their craft!

We loved Danfords - so glad we had our reception there. Lynn was so helpful from day one - really thorough and answered all of our questions throughout the process. We had an amazing time the night of our wedding - Vicki had everything handled. Great reception space, great service- we were really so happy with how everything turned out!!

Perfection! That is how I would describe our experience at Danfords for our wedding on 06/03/17. Everything from the planning, food, our suite and of course the service. We had a small ceremony and reception, which both were held at Danfords. We never felt like our party was too small (28 total guests) for their attention. So cozy, so intimate. Lynn, the overall event coordinator and Daisy, our onsite coordinator that evening were so easy to work with and very attentive. The food was great and our guests were so well taken care of. I literally have no complaints. Wish I could do it all over again!!

Everything about this venue was absolutely perfect for us! We booked in July and got married in October. Lynn was so helpful and accommodating. The staff was friendly, professional and genuinely happy for us. The entire evening was magical!

Danfords was fantastic! Lynn was amazing - without her this wedding would not have been what it was. The entire team at Danfords was so accommodating. Anything we needed, every question we had, was handled with the utmost professionalism and incredibly quickly! Stephanie and the team were amazing the night of the wedding - making sure we ate and handling the arrival of an unexpected guest so that my husband and I could have an amazing time. The room provided to us for our overnight stay was fantastic, with a breathtaking view of the harbor. There really aren't words to express how happy we were with their service. The team helped us with everything, from making sure my food allergies were dealt with so I could enjoy my meal to making sure that more than a third of our guests had rooms at the hotel.

Our wedding was everything we could've wished for and more! The staff at Danfords were attentive, professional, and went over and above to make sure that everything ran smoothly. My guests have been nothing but complimentary about every aspect of the wedding. They have all asked if we could go back every year on our anniversary to celebrate there again. We definitely made the right choice in Danfords and would strongly recommend this venue to anyone getting married.

Danford's was lovely. It was such a nice venue for our wedding without feeling like a wedding factory. Terrific staff, wonderful room. The ceremony outside on the brick path was so nice. Cocktail hour was also out there and I loved it. The staff was great. Food was delicious.

Danford's did an amazing Sunday Brunch second wedding for us. Very intimate and special. The food and service was amazing.

Danford's was exactly what we wanted for our reception and guests (Our ceremony was held elsewhere.) It is a hotel and reception site on the water. Being in cute Port Jefferson was just a bonus. Everything was perfect from the wedding coordination (Amy is amazing!!) to the hotel accomodations to the wait staff. We also had a morning-after breakfast. Everything was executed exactly as I requested. The food was great. The only thing bad is that the A/C does not work well in all the hotel rooms- so caution.

Danfords is professional, courteous and most of all understanding. They know the stress that is on a bride and they make a concerted effort to alleviate that stress. In addition to their understanding and support they are also flexible. They allow you the opportunity to customize your event so that it is exactly what you dreamed of. My husband and I love Danfords so much we have decided to make an effort to return every year for our anniversary.

We recently held my son’s rehearsal dinner at this restaurant, and it could not have been a more wonderful experience. The staff was attentive, warm, and incredibly professional from start to finish. The manager went above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect, and their coordination helped the evening run smoothly.

The private room was absolutely beautiful. It elegant and the ideal setting for such a special occasion. Our guests were truly impressed, and we received so many compliments on the atmosphere.

Thank you to the entire team for helping make this celebration memorable. I highly recommend this restaurant for any important event or gathering!

We just had our 10/01 wedding there and it was amazing! The location right on the sound was fantastic for anyone wanting a wedding with a nautical vibe. The decor is fantastic as was the food! Cocktail hour included so many choices and was on the balcony overlooking the marina. Dinner was amazing, definitely go for the filet mignon, it was so tender you didn't even need a steak knife. Vicky, the maitre d', was great to work with and was so on top of everything. Dominique, our bridal attendant, was also great and so attentive. Because of them we felt we could truly enjoy the day and not have to lift a finger! Danfords has recently gone through an ownership change, but you'd never know it because everything ran so smoothly. Having a wedding venue that is also a hotel was fantastic for getting ready before the ceremony, some decompression before cocktail hour, and was so easy for guests after the reception was over. I would love to attend another event at Danfords in the future and would recommend it to anyone looking for a wedding venue!

I could not dream of getting married anywhere else. Danfords and all their staff were polite, responsible and accommodating. It is a beautiful location in the heart of Port Jefferson village and right at the harbor. Danfords made sure I was worry free from when we first viewed the location to leaving the morning after the wedding. The wedding coordinator was confident, professional and very welcoming with questions and concerns. The wait and bar staff were on top of everything. The selection of food was delicious from cocktail hour through dessert. The maître D and bridal attendant were at my side prepared for the overwhelming events throughout the day. Being that Danfords also has a hotel and in the town of Port Jefferson, made it easy and entertaining for our out of town guest. I personally loved the wholesome nautical décor that I did not see as charming anywhere else while viewing other reception halls. And lastly, the complimentary honeymoon suite, which my husband and I hope to book again for our anniversary.

I am so happy I chose to have my wedding here. I have nothing at all to say bad. Everyone was so helpful in making this day wonderful. Now the valet people that's a different story but Danfords and the people there made my wedding day all I have ever hoped it would be!!!

Wonderful, beautiful outdoor site for a ceremony. Danfords was very accommodating for both the ceremony and our reception. Their bridal attendant was specatular and their service and ability to set the room met all of my expectations. As the bride my stress level was minimul because of the staff at Danfords.

Danford's was truly a beautiful venue. It is much distinguished from other Long Island venues, in that it is more intimate, has a laid-back but elegant atmosphere, and is right on the water. Danford's is an iconic celebration location and we we're so happy we chose it.

Beautiful day! There is only one wedding at a time, ball room overlooks the water and the grounds are adjacent to a beach and park, great for photographs!

Even though the planning process had some bumps the actual day of the event exceeded my expectations. The staff that worked the event was amazing. Stephanie, the banquet manager, and her team kept everything running smoothly with a smile on her face at all times. She is even in the background of some pictures literally always smiling. She and her team were professional yet warm and friendly. There is nothing they missed..

Food was terrific, service was great, and location was very nice - right in the heart of Port Jefferson. Everyone had a great time. The only thing that bothered us was the price of the hotel room for our wedding night. They did not comp the room, and they offered no discount like many other places, but the room was very nice and had a working fireplace that we enjoyed using. Overall, we were very happy we selected this venue for our wedding reception.

If you can get past the lack of consistency and terrible communication, you'll have a beautiful wedding with amazing food. Stephanie, the bridal attendant is excellent but Vicki, the maitre d is awful beyond belief.

BE VERY CAREFUL IF YOU HAVE YOUR EVENT HERE. The location is beautiful, the venue itself is beautiful and the food is very good. However they dropped the ball on several things...several important things, such as double-booking my ceremony area, causing much unnecessary, uncalled for stress on the most important and expensive day of my life. So in hindsight, would i do it again? Maybe but i would have EVERY SINGLE DETAIL outlined in WRITING and thoroughly discussed beforehand. you cannot be too clear with these people and you cannot assume anything.

So far, not impressed at all! We’re still in the planning stage, venue is reserved, deposit paid and all. But they (Lynn Fisk) keeps trying to screw us over: constantly trying to overprice or add charges to things that are supposed to be included!
What they call premium alcohol open bar, is what’s considered the minimum, non premium EVERYWHERE ELSE!
She works 9 to 5, and we’re the one Paying for the service but she seems to think we HAVE to accommodate HER, leave work early, for appointments for all the planning!
Really??
I can’t wait for the wedding day to see what else she’s gonna screw up!

Beware, she was the nicest BEFORE you sign the contract and make deposit, then it’s all downhill!
Very disappointed so far!

Very disappointed with this vendor. Although my wedding was beautiful and the food was delicious I had to deal with many things that I shouldn't have had to deal with. Danfords has a very high turn over rate for wedding sales employees I had three different people before I booked my wedding and they all tried to tell me different things at least I had everything in my contract and emails from the previous person. No one ever told me until I was ready to walk down the aisle that I was the one that needed to order the chair covers. Also on every single piece of paper/email and any other communication I had with Danfords I stressed that one if the girls in my wedding party had a severe nut allergy and they told me that wasn't a problem. Apparently it was because they used nuts on 3 different occasions throughout the day and the following day during my after wedding brunch. That is absolutely unacceptable. If they couldn't accommodate it fine but let clients know. I would have chose a different venue. It was a beautiful place and we had a great time, my other vendors really pulled together to help me out but in the end I was very disappointed with Danfords everyone that was employed by them is very unprofessional and their customer service is terrible.

I heard good things about Danford’s, so I was hopeful in choosing them for my wedding venue. Glad we didn’t! Maybe my fiancé and I just had an “off” day with the staff, but I wanted to give you a fair warning.

Scheduling a venue tour was easy. The manager called me back immediately. The conversation went well except she did say something borderline rude, which was along the lines of “if you’re going to be late, just do me a favor and let me know.”

The tour... well, there was no tour. My fiancé and I were literally stood up.

To start, we tried to park at Danford’s but the valet driver quite rudely told us the parking was only for the wedding going on. We explained we were potential customers. He didn’t care, just told us to look for parking elsewhere. I was worried this would make us late, so my fiancé dropped me off while he looked for public parking.

I went inside and the front desk told me the manager was running late. I understood, sat in the lobby. My fiancé came in 20 minutes later. He said he needed to find parking, to which the front desk attendant said “you could’ve parked in our lot” despite what the valet driver told us! Then I asked the attendant for an estimated time we’d be meeting with the manager, and he called her and told me she would be done very soon. We then waited over 45 minutes. I am not exaggerating. And all during that wait, we were never offered glasses of water, a magazine, anything. We literally just sat there, bored. The staff didn’t even seem apologetic.

By that point, frustrated, we walked out. About a half hour later, the manager called and left me a voicemail asking for us to reschedule. This from the person who told us not to be late! We were on time!

If a venue staff acts this inappropriate during the “buttering up” phase, I cannot imagine how they are once they have your money! Stay away!

We were using Danford's as a day before/day of/wedding night hotel. It was basically our mini getaway since we had not yet planned a honeymoon. The hotel is close to our parents' homes so the location was perfect.
We checked into our room sometime in the afternoon on Saturday and everything more or less looked fine. The "hotel" basically has a motel set up with access only from outside. It was raining really badly and all the stairs and walkways to the rooms were carpeted....I thought that was strange, especially for a place on the water. (Mold?)
We went back to the room to settle in for the night at about 9:30pm……it was like Niagara falls! There was water pouring from the ceiling all along one of the walls…it was pouring straight into the tv, on all of the electric hooked up on that wall, on the heater. I have pictures of all of it. It was sooo bad. So we see this and we start panicking because the water is going directly into all the electrical, I called the front desk… They didn’t really help me. They wanted to give us a new room without a view of the water (literally) and they would adjust the price based on the view only. At this point, its getting late, its pouring rain and its freezing outside! I didn’t want to run from room to room with all of our WEDDING things. They said they would send someone over with new rooms keys and that person would personally check the new room before sending us to it. I get off the phone with the front desk, made 1 more call and in that span of maybe 10 minutes I noticed the patch job in the middle of the ceiling is actually peeling before my eyes and water is starting to drip from there. We decided to check the other rooms for leaks and we found black mold on the ceiling in the bedroom. My husband has very bad asthma so we decided not to risk it and we left. The guy did come with the room keys....didn't want to step foot in our room, didn't check the new room and when we did insist he look at the leaks, he said "I have no idea what to do with this. This isn't my job". Nice. What bothers me is.... they sent over strawberries and champagne (which my MIL paid for) and they brought a day early. The person who dropped them off most DEFINITELY saw this mess and didn't do a thing about it! They also promised my MIL upon booking that they do something special for newlyweds....we didn't get anything.
No other hotels are in the immediate area and my wedding night was ruined because of this mess. Thanks Danford's! I will be following up with the Board of Health because of the mold.
