Mother’s wedding dress made to be modern!

My daughter’s heart was set on wearing my wedding dress which was nearly 30 years old. We went to Sylvia and showed her the dress and she magically transformed it into a vintage treasure with a modern edge. It was breathtaking. She also made my MOB dress and it was exquisite as well. I can’t say enough about Sylvia!

True “fairy godmother” of weddings!!

We LOVE Sylvia!!! She designed my mother and my (bride) gowns and we were so happy with the final product. She also altered my wife’s gown and all FIVE of my bridesmaid’s dresses. Fiery, honest, reliable, talented but also kind and understanding - Sylvia was amazing. She made each one of us feel special and beautiful despite body types, prices, etc... she is one of a kind!! And we would recommend her without a hint of reservation!!

Last minute wedding dress alteration

One week before my wedding I asked Danese to squeeze me in and add sleeves to my spaghetti strap wedding dress. She was responsive and flexible, her alteration made my dress perfect for the big day.

I brought in a photo of the vintage wedding dress I wanted and Scylvia was able to recreate it perfectly. I can still hear the collective gasps when I stepped into the church, the dress was absolutely stunning amd tailored to my body without being constrictive. She's the best in the business!

Scylvia recently did the alternations to my wedding dress. I knew about her business because I drove by it every day when I went to high school years ago. After going to another place to get an estimate, I came to Danese Creations for a second estimate and I am SO thankful I did. While Danese was not cheaper than the first place, she was extremely thorough and I realized the other place as going to cut a lot of corners. I wanted my wedding dress to be perfect for my day, and Scylvia did just that. The fitting appointments were quick and the work product was excellent. I picked up my dress the day before my wedding and I was almost in tears seeing it hanging there waiting for me. She currently has my dress now and is cleaning it and preserving it for me. I would recommend Scylvia again and again.

I’ve worked with Danese on a number of occasions and have always been delighted. Scylvia has created gowns from scratch for me as well as performed amazing reconstruction of off the rack items. From simple alterations, to reconstruction to gowns designed just for me, The attention to detail is fabulous. The shop is responsive and timely. They can turn things around quickly, but it’s always best to allow enough time for perfection! I will be back!

Sylvia came highly recommend to me by one of my bridesmaids that has been using her for years when I was trying to find someone to alter my off the rack, clearance wedding dress and also a traditional Chinese cheong sam. Both dresses were altered and cared for very well! Sylvia was fun to chat with and also had good advice for pre-wedding prep, like don't eat too much carne asada the night before or you'll retain water haha.

I was so glad I went with Sylvia and my dresses fit wonderfully.

I added a corset back to my dress and had the sleeves removed. The dress looked completely AMAZING! Everyone assumed I bought it that way. Came here in with a short timeframe for work to be completed and everything was done in time. Would highly recommend this place!

I had my dress hemmed and the bustle done for my wedding. Sylvia was great to work with. She got me in right away and was able to move my later appointments when I had a conflict. I also found my veil at her shop. I would highly recommend her for any alterations. I'm planning to take another of my dresses to her to be altered.

Scylvia was amazing to work with. She saw the vision I had with my wedding dress and she helped me achieve it. She even gave me tips on things to do the week of the wedding. She is very thorough and made sure everything was absolutely perfect. I will go back to see her for any other alternation needs I may have.

I was very shocked to hear the turn around time Danese Creations had for alterations. They only needed a week for alterations. I was very pleased to hear that, you normally get a 3-4 week turnaround time with other stores. They were very professional and did an amazing job on my bridesmaid dress. It's because of that first impression and being able to delivery what was said, is why I went back the second time for my second bridesmaid dress and will be back a third for my third dress.

Danese Creations altered my wedding gown into a party dress removing some tulle and adding some black fabric to tone down the white. I'm happy with the quality and look of the dress which was fun to wear out on New Year's Eve 2015. Why store a dress - make it something new and exciting ;)

She was extremely helpful & created the dress exactly how I had imagined for my senior prom. She did so in a timely and professional manner and the results were perfect. Everyone has been asking me where I found my dress and if they could borrow or rent it from me. NO WAY! But I think that goes to show what an amazing job Danese Creations did on my prom dress. 10/10 would recommend.

I went to Danese Creations looking for a seamstress to create my wedding dress. I met with the owner, Sylvia and showed her a picture of the dress I wanted. She interviewed me, took measurements and she drew out what I wanted. The dress was everything I wanted and I loved it. It was an exact match to the dress I had originally showed her a picture of. The dress fit my body type perfectly. She also made me a custom veil and I purchased a rhinestone barrette from Danese Creations to place in the back part of my hair. I was custom fit with a bra (which is the most comfortable bra I have ever owned). I would highly recommend Danese Creations if you are looking for a custom made wedding dress (or any custom made dress apparel). Danese Creations produces the highest quality work imaginable. Sylvia works with you every step of the way to create exactly what you are looking for. Please take a look at her webpage and you will see very beautiful creations. I have posted pictures of the wedding dress she created for me. I was highly, highly satisfied with Danese Creations and I highly recommend the shop.

Danese made a miracle happen. She took one really large dress and recreated a whole new dress from it. I'm a little on the tall side and she was able to add so much length that my dress hit the floor... that never happens. I am grateful that I found her and she was very timely to make the changes she had to. I would recommend her for any and every alteration you ever have. I'll be here again for the overwhelming weddings I'll be attending this year.

Scylvia is literally the best. Trust no one else with your wedding dress -- she is worth every penny and so much more. Completely flawless skill and total dedication. She bent way over backwards to make sure my dress for perfectly, even working for 12 hours on a Saturday right before the wedding to accommodate this out of town bride. She was a dream I can't stress enough - go with her! Even its double the price of elsewhere, you won't regret it.

We first found out about Danese Creations from our Orthodontics doctor. When she found out that my daughter needed some alterations on her wedding dress, she told us that her friend who is a very accomplished seamstress herself, takes her hardest projects to Danese Creations.

Danese creations did an amazing job on my daughter's dress. My daughter is in medical school and lives in Minnesota but the wedding was taking place in Phoenix. The owner of Danese creations was very understanding and flexible with my daughter's needs. Since my daughter's size kept changing in between her visits to Phoenix, the owner of Danese Creations told her not to worry and come in at 8 AM on the day before her wedding and she worked on my daughter's dress until 8:30 PM at night until it was perfect. We couldn't be happier with her work and are so thankful to her for her kindness and the flexibility she has shown us. She is a true artist at her craft and a very kind person on top of it.

I had a wonderful experience at Danese Creations! I was on a diet when I originally got measured and had lost some weight before the wedding and she made sure my dress looked great! I definitely recommend! She also added a blusher to my veil and it was so beautiful.

Scylvia was wonderful, she had to re-bead and cut the corset on my dress and the final product was amazing!! I went from a corset-gown about two sizes to big to a perfect fit, I was beyond happy with the service and quality of work! Definitely recommend Scylvia to all brides!

I bought a simple dress with plans to totally reconstruct / redesign it to create a similar look tp the higher end designer dresses I liked. Sylvia spent time with me and listened to all my requests for the redesign - the answer was always yes! She has the skills to make you anything you want - she was amazing to work with and my dress turned out beautifully!

I have been going to Sylvia for years. Back in 2001 I was introduced to her through a wedding I was in. The bride chose Sylvia to make all of the bridesmaid dresses. In 2006 I graduated from XCP and with the help of Sylvia designed my "dream" dress. After prom I was asked to be featured on a Channel 3 news special to show off the beautiful work of DANESE CREATIONS. My sister was presented at the 2009 Board of Visitors debutant ball. I had so much fun designing with Sylvia that I decided this would be a perfect opportunity to collaborate with her again. My mother also had a dress designed for the event. Then, in 2013 we gave the BOV dress a "facelift" and I have worn it to several events (dress is featured in post).

I can't begin to tell you how many times I have been stopped/complimented in Sylvia dresses. The quality of her creations are exceptional and I can promise you that you will never be disappointed whether it be designing or alterations. Her staff is always friendly and very diligent. Sylvia is loyal to her costumers and always makes you feel so comfortable. No matter how busy she is, Sylvia is always willing to go the extra mile to make you feel beautiful.

I came here to have my wedding dress altered. My mother is a long-time customer, and we wouldn't trust anyone else with it! Scylvia provided professional, on-point, expert advice and delivered!

We had purchased the sample dress from a dress shop, and Scylvia got right on it to take it in, shorten it, add straps, extend the zipper, add a belt, add a bra, make a bow and provide bustles. Plus she cleaned and pressed it. We went through three dress fittings, and on the last one just before the wedding, there were a couple of touch ups we requested that she took care of within a couple of hours so we could pick it up later that day. This included her touching up the dress length that day, once she saw the flats I was going to wear after the ceremony, so she made sure I wouldn't trip on my dress.

Her services are expensive, but when you have an important alteration to make (like a wedding dress), she is the right person to do the job. I had almost no problem with my dress come wedding day, and it was so easy to wear and put on!

She is not afraid to express her opinions and stick to them--she does know what she is doing. We came in with questions and some ideas of what alterations we wanted, and she told us what and how she could do it to make the dress look amazing and also wearable. So you should be prepared if you have ideas of how alterations should go that she may disagree and will instead have a better idea of how to make your vision happen. I am so, so happy we came to Scylvia and we were all thrilled with the end results.

I brought a bride's maid dress here over 4 years ago. I'm really petite (I'm 4'11'' and a size 00), so bride's maid dresses are always a pain. For this one, I had to order the smallest size (2), which was HUGE! Danese completely redid my dress and it is now my best-fitting dress. It feels like it was made just for me (which it kind of was)! Danese is a little expensive, but TOTALLY worth the money. They are professional and do amazing work. I just dropped off another bride's maid dress and I'm confident it will turn out great. :)

Scylvia was amazing.
I only showed her a couple of pictures from my cell phone and made some comments about what I thought would look good, I was so unsure about my choices. Scylvia listened to my ideas, and helped me get a full view of my dress. About 1 month from my wedding, I decided to add a cape to my dress. I only brought in a magazine photo. Wow, was I amazed. My gown and cape were beyond my expectations.
Not only did they fit perfectly, the design and layout was perfect. She is an amazing designer/seamstress!

Scylvia hemmed, bustled, let out and pressed my wedding gown. She met with me 2 weeks before my wedding and made me feel extremely calm and confident that my wedding dress would be perfect. It was. Danese Creations is Fantastic!! Friendly, very hardworking people with real talent for their craft. I found out 6 months before my event that I was moving across the country to plan my wedding. They totally worked with me and made my first and final fittings within a week of the event when I was finally back in town. The also custom made a jeweled sash for my Maid of Honor so if you have a specific idea in mind, THIS IS THE PLACE TO GO!!

She was amazing! I had a lot of alterations and when I asked around, her name was the only one that came up. She gave me exactly what I wanted and even helped give suggestions to things I hadn't thought of. Besides my wedding dress, she also did the entire wedding party.

My daughter had a custom made cheer outfit made by Silvia for her Bat Mitzvah. It could not have been more perfect!! The fit, material and quality were fabulous! She felt like a million dollars in this custom made top and skirt with her initials and special stone work sewn into the top. All her guests loved the outfit and requested Silvia's contact information. Danese Creations is one of a kind. We are lucky to have such quality in our area.

Scylvia was amazing! I don't live in Arizona, but was having all my alterations done in Phoenix ahead of my wedding there. Danese Creations was very accommodating of my schedule. We did an initial fitting in December, but all alterations were actually done the week of the wedding (Monday, Thursday and Friday the wedding week). I flew back from the east coast on Saturday, a week before the wedding, and Scylvia saw me for my first real fitting that Monday afternoon (she didn't want to see my Saturday because you are typically swollen after flying, and she wanted to see me in the afternoon because that was the time of my wedding - i.e. not right after breakfast, etc.). Needless to say, she is very thoughful in her process and takes steps to make sure that your gown fits perfectly. She had to make significant alterations and was able to complete all of them before the wedding. I also decided to add straps last minute and she was able to put them on without problem (and I loved them!). All in all Danese Creations did a fabulous job on my wedding gown and I would absolutely recommend them.

I am so thankful for the expert services of Danese Creations. I first starting going their for basic alterations ten years ago & since then their supreme work has customized everything from a sentimental camel hair winter coat of my grandmothers to everyday sweaters, jeans, business attire and fancy beaded evening gowns. It is important to leave your ego at the door and trust the decades of experience that the owner Scylvia brings to your garment and body type. She understands the fabrics, construction methods, cuts and fits better than anyone. More than 100 jobs later each one feels like a work of art done to perfection. If you want to invest in quality craftsmanship this is the place for you! I can't wait to do all of my bridal here... I've already known several brides who have gone to Danese Creations and their dresses were perfection......this place is a hidden gem of the A List in town :)

I had my wedding gown and all my 5 of my bridesmaids dresses made here. I got exactly what i wanted, and i felt like a princess. I gave Scylvia, the owner a VERY short timeline and she still made my dreams come true! I brought her several pictures of dresses i loved. She was able to take all my ideas and weave them into the dress of my dreams! All my bridesmaids wore a different style and color dress that they designed themselves, what a treat!I loved the honesty here , don't expect to be lied to, if something isn't going to look right they will be the first to tell you. I have to admit i got a little nervous about being fit the week of my wedding, but she was soooo right to wait! The stress of the wedding made me lose 7 pounds the week before. Anyways long story short i had i very good experience and i have used her for tailoring of my everyday garments since. They also preformed a miracle and altered my moms dress the day before the event. Cost was less than the couture dress i wanted and i thought her creation was prettier

I would HIGHLY recommend Danese Creations for alterations of your wedding and/or bridesmaids dresses. SHE IS AMAZING!! I took my dress to get altered at a cheap place trying to save money and I ended up paying to get it altered by two different people so really I doubled the cost. I do not recommend getting alterations done for cheap. It is not worth it.

My dress was almost ruined and I no longer wanted to wear it. It was horrible! I took it to Danese and she fixed it and made it the most beautiful dress ever! I didn't even need to tell her all the things that were wrong with the dress. She recognized it right away, which speaks to her experience. She knows exactly what she is doing and does a wonderful job. If she could fix the mess my dress was in, then she can do anything. And she did it on short notice. Since I got it altered by someone else already I had to fix it two weeks before the wedding and she did. She said it can be done over night if necessary. She may be a little pricey for some, but it is definitely worth it (maybe it was just pricey for all the things that were wrong with my dress). You only wear this dress once! I got so many compliments on my dress I can't even tell you and it wouldn't have been so beautiful had she not made it perfect for my body and fixed all the problems created by the other alterations people. She is the number one place to go to for alterations for a reason.

She was awesome! She made dresses for my girls at $200 a piece which is close to what you pay to get dresses off the rack. Granted that was in 2003, but I bet she still offers great value for her custom work. This allowed my bridesmaids to have the same fabrics, but pick out shapes that best flattered their figures. I really appreciated that. She also did a great job on tailoring my off the rack wedding dress.

Years ago I had my Prom dress made by Sylvia just from a drawing and we chose the fabric from her huge selection. When I was ready for my wedding dress I knew I had to go back to her. This time I just described what I wanted with parts of 4 pictures and she put everything together perfectly. I got a one of a kind royal looking gown for a fraction of the price of I would've paid ordering online and then altering. I recommended all my girlfriends to only get what they want here and they are after they saw my beautiful creation. I LOVE THE QUALITY IF YHEIR CREATIVITY HERE!

Yes, Danese Creations is expensive. No, I probably wouldn't have gone to them initially if I had only looked at prices. But NOW I wish I would have gone to them in the first place, instead of wasting my money on cheap, poorly done alterations, and basically paying for my dress twice. For me, it was priceless to know I could relax and feel beautiful with a dress that fit perfectly, rather than stress all day and pull at one that I was falling out of...

I realized three days before my wedding that the bust of my dress was way too big, and if I raised my arms at all, you would be able to see everything! After frantically trying to stuff padding in, trying different bras, making it worse, I realized I just needed to get it fixed, by a professional. I called Danese Creations at 9 am the next morning. I told them my situation, that even though my wedding was in two days, it was in Sedona, so I had to leave the next day. I needed same-day alterations, or at the very latest, done by early the next morning. They had a "can-do" attitude, said they'd work on the dress all day if necessary. I was so relieved.

I went in for a fitting at 10:30am, and like a previous reviewer said, Sylvia can look at the dress and tell exactly what is wrong, without you even saying it. She pointed out things I didn't even realize, that my hem was crooked and I might trip, and that my bustle was poorly done and hung awkwardly, and would look much better (and be less of a tripping hazard) if re-done in a French style.

Whether she pointed these things out to do additional work and make more money or not, she was right. I value a professional who knows her craft and will speak up. I wish the first bridal shop had done this with my bustline. I had them sew in bra cups, but they didn't do a thorough fitting in that part of the dress (?) so here I was!

They worked on the dress all day, called me at 4:00pm, and I came in for a second fitting. It fit perfect! I was so much more comfortable, a huge stress was gone and I could smile again! I left so they could do the final adjustments, and I came back to pick up the dress about 7:00pm. We left at 11 am the next day to go to Sedona where my wedding was being held, crisis averted! Thank you, Danese Creations!

I ordered a beautiful wedding dress online, but unfortunately it was too big. Sylvia did all the necessary fixes in less than 2 weeks before my wedding! She was extremely helpful and flexible with the times I could come get fitted, which I truly appreciated because I lived out of town. I was 2 weeks out from the wedding and the original alterations left my dress was not fitting right. I originally went to see if Danese had a solution to the bra that had been sold to me that was too tall for the back of my strapless - low backed dress. Immediately she noticed that the dress was altered to be too large. She quickly pinned up the extra inches, and found me a bra that supported me correctly and fit under the dress. She had the dress ready for my family pick up 2 days prior to the wedding.
The dress was perfect!!!! i danced all night long with no worries and without having to tug on my strapless dress even once.
Once the pictures were posted on Facebook, friends I had not seen in ages wished my husband and me a Big Congratulations and mentioned how perfect my dress fit me.

I fell in love with an Audrey Hepburn style dress that was only available in LA and New York through a custom design vintage style dress studio. We went to LA, tried on a "test" dress, and paid extra to have the dress made to fit my measurements instead of just a specific size. When the dress arrived, there were several problems - the most serious being that the bodice was made too short. I took it to Silvia, and she had to completely remake the bodice, shorten the skirt, and fit me for the correct bra. The wedding was last Saturday, October 18, and I have to say that and the dress is amazing. It fit's like a dream. I am in love with this dress! THANK YOU Silvia - you certainly worked your magic. If I ever need a special dress again, I will come to you first!

Sylvia is a miracle worker. I needed extensive modifications and alterations for my gown and she was able to make it look perfect. Her services aren't cheap but she truly is the most talented seamstress I have ever seen and I wouldn't trust anyone else with such an important garment.

As the Mother of the Bride, not just any gown would do. I hoped for both a luxurious fabric selection and expert tailoring on my personal design. Danese Creations provided both. Scylvia has exquisite fabrics and trims and was able to measure, make and perfectly fit my special occasion gown. It was prepared on time, perfectly pressed and ready to wear. I bought my wedding dress online from Jcrew right after getting engaged. I took it immediately to Sylvia at Danese Creations to have it slightly altered and a beautiful taupe sash added. Since it took us two years to get married, my dress stayed at Danese Creations (no charge!) the whole time! I loved my dress--it still fit after two years! Sylvia did excellent work as the sash was exactly what I had imagined. I would agree with other reviewers that it was a little expensive but I do know that Sylvia has earned several local media awards for best alterations and couldn't risk going anywhere else. Overall, its worth the extra!

I bought my dress in a difference state a needed a local tailor. Super friendly and helpful, however, they cut the timeline a little close. I had a dress which needed a significant hem. It had a a beautiful trim detail at the bottom which I was never told would change. She wasn't finished with the hem 4 days before my wedding (which I dropped of 60 days in advance) so I didn't even know this was happening until I picked up the dress. I was disappointed in that communication, but the dress did turn out beautiful and no one noticed but me.

Sylvia is lovely and I quite enjoyed getting to work with her and her staff. I purchased my dress elsewhere and the alterations done there were dreadful. She took on my dress at the last minute and did a lovely job. The cost was high but I felt confident that she would fix what absolutely needed to be done in a short frame and do it well. My only problem was with the veil. The comb was sewed improperly requiring a bit of panic at the Church. I would recommend checking everything at pickup to make sure all is in order.

I purchased my dress elsewhere, but had Sylvia Danese alter it. Sylvia is very nice and is extremely talented.
The dress alterations were beautifully done, but quite expensive considering the simplicity of what I had done to it.
I also got a quote from her to make the bridesmaids dresses, which was expensive compared to other quotes I
received so I went elsewhere.

Don't be alarmed by the outdated dress in the building. Sylvia knows her stuff! She was able to hem my dress just as I imagined it. However, when you say done by a certain time. Please have the garment finished.

The good: my dress was absolutely perfectly tailored and she made me a gorgeous ribbon sash. She transformed a BHLDN dress into a dress that looked haute couture.

The BAD: because they pressed the dress, they scheduled my pick-up for the day before my wedding, Saturday of Labor Day weekend. I called Danese five days before pick-up to check the pick-up time. The front desk clerk told me, "Oh, we're closed on Saturday for the holiday weekend."
My response: "Wait. YOU scheduled my pick-up for Saturday."
Her: "We're not open because of the holiday."
Me: "Wait, are you telling me that if I hadn't called YOU, I wouldn't have a wedding dress for my wedding on Sunday?!"
Her: "Yes."

After 2 fittings the dress was uncomfortable. I could not wait to take it off. At the last fitting it was noted the emblesionment on the front of the dress folded over. So a day before the wedding steeps were added that cut into my shoulders

My dress would have been great but when I called to ask about my dress being able to be adjusted if I lost 5 pounds since my first and only original fitting months prior, they automatically brought in my dress and then it was too small when I came in! It was extremely stressful and was made to feel as though this was my fault. I also thought it was odd that I came in for an original fitting around December and was told I did not need to be back in until May for the final product. They were able to fix my dress but when it was sent off it was not finished upon arrival to my destination wedding and I had to pay to get that finished. The details fail me as to what was left to be done, I believe there were loose threads and the inside lining was not finished and fully attached. I was never refunded for these alterations I had to have done last minute to fix this even though I was told I would be refunded the 50$ in which I gave them the receipt.

All in all she did a good job, but for what I was charged (which is quite expensive) I felt a little short changed by those things.

If they righted these things for me, I may recommend them but as of now, no.

They did a great job with my dress, however, the attitude of the people who work there is terrible. They don't make you feel like your questions are valued, and should you have a question, you get a nasty response from them. Sadly, their attitude distracted me from the overall service.

I was referred to Sylvia Danese by a good friend. Little did I know that Danese Creations does NOT post prices and seems to charge fees based on their mood - and they seem like a very moody group! I was charged $350 to have my dress brought in and cap sleeves added. I then had to wait 2 months to get my dress. When I went to pick it up, Sylvia FORGOT what she was suppose to do to it, so I had to wait another 2 weeks. She may have a reputation for good work, but I found her place lacking in professionalism and communication. Be prepared to have several interruptions while you are trying on your wedding dress by staff and her husband coming in and out of the dressing room area. This experience is not what I want to remember years from now. Suggestion: When you are asked when your wedding date is, lie! Tell them it's a month before the actual date. They will push to finish your wedding dress as far back as they can.
