Dana Lawson, Amazing Celebrant on 5/28/22!

Dana Lawson helped to make our wedding day the most touching and beautiful day we could have ever dreamed. She worked closely with us, making sure that everything we were hoping for would happen with our wedding and thanks to Dana it did, and then some. She is kind and open to any ideas. She is responsive and does her research. One of the most moving parts of our ceremony came from the beautiful verses about nature and trees that Dana spoke of, which were a large part of the theme of our wedding. Beyond giving us the most magical of ceremonies, she checked back in with us sometime after our wedding, to see how we were and gave a personal touch that endeared her to us even more. She is the real deal and the care, time and energy she gave to our ceremony brought us the most special of all days. I highly recommend Dana Lawson to all who wish for their wedding day to be the most memorable of all days. Thank you so very much Dana!!!

Highly Recommend!

I highly recommend Dana as an officiant for your wedding! She came recommended from the wedding venue and after reading reviews online and speaking with her, I knew I wanted to have her officiate my wedding. It was important to us to have an officiant who could combine elements of a nontraditional wedding and traditional wedding, along with religious and spiritual elements, and Dana did just that. She listened to us and provided support and guidance along the way. She tailored the wedding to capture both our personalities and the mood that we were going for on the day of. I felt good knowing that I didn't have to worry about the flow of the wedding, as she had great recommendations on how things should go the day of. Working with Dana was such a breeze and made for a great wedding day! I couldn't have asked for a better officiant! Thank you Dana!

Outstanding!

Dana did a fabulous job crafting our perfect wedding ceremony! Our whole ceremony was extremely personal, touching, and unique to us! I did not want to include some of the traditional elements of a wedding ceremony and Dana did a great job of making sure the ceremony was still an appropriate length and not too short - it was actually perfect! My favorite part of our ceremony was our tree planting union which we decided to add on becasue we omitted readings and writing our own vows. Dana did such a beautiful job creating a very unique and meaningful ceremony that told our story. I recieved many, many compliments about how professional and beautiful our ceremony was. I would highly recommend Dana for any life celebration! Thank you Dana!

The Best Ever

Dana is great! She made my day special! I had tons of questions before and she patiently answered one by one. It is easy to see that Dana loves what she does, and that love and happiness she brought in to the ceremony was contagious.
She did above and beyond my expectations

Loved our ceremony

We're so happy we chose Dana as our officiant. Every step of the way we felt guided and supported by her to create a beautiful ceremony that fit us perfectly. I loved that she had us fill out a questionnaire and then show each other. She wrote a draft which we then could review and make small edits too. She suggested readings too. All of it felt very smooth and made me feel confident going into the wedding. And on the actual day it was perfect, just the right amount of touching, emotional and joyful. Everyone loved it, especially us!

Our Wedding 3/30/19

From our first phone call with Dana, my husband and I knew she would be the one to marry us. She was so upbeat and personable on the phone, genuinely interested in our love story. We spent about an hour on the phone talking with her, just going over how we met, how long we’ve been dating, what type of ceremony we wanted, how our lives are structured, our relationship with our families, etc. The truth is, the time just flew by because she genuinely cared, and it was like talking to an old friend. Prior to meeting Dana, we met with a few other officiants who were very nice and we easily could have went with one of them and been done with it, but I’m glad we kept looking and met Dana. Once we hung up the phone after our first conversation, we knew we were done. We emailed her the next day and met with Dana soon after at Panera to talk again and put a face to the voice. It was a great meeting and we quickly booked her that day. What set Dana apart was that we knew she would make sure that everything was taken care of the way that we envisioned it. She wrote a beautiful ceremony for us, which we worked on together the month of the wedding. On the day of, Dana came and found us the moment she arrived at our venue, which was nice and early. My husband and I both took a deep breath, we knew she had everything under control. She was so calm and reassuring, in that moment, I can’t tell you how glad I was that we chose her.

Dana nailed it! Dana speaks so beautifully, it’s no surprise our ceremony was perfect. All of our guests came up to us afterwards to tell us how beautiful it was and how much they enjoyed Dana.

Here’s my advice to anyone planning a wedding: Choose the vendors that give you peace of mind, the ones that you know will deliver for you on your big day. For my husband and I, that was Dana Lawson. Dana was a such a delight to work with before our big day and so incredibly warm and loving at our wedding. She was a true professional, a master of her craft. I would recommend Dana to anyone looking for an officiant.

September 2018 wedding

We are so glad that we used Dana Lawson as our celebrant wedding officiant! The ceremony was absolutely beautiful, and she captured every part of our story and relationship so perfectly. Dana really took the time to get to know us as a couple, and all of our guests were touched by the warmth and genuine feel of our wedding ceremony. There were people who came to our wedding who swore to me they would not cry. Dana proved them wrong. Dana worked with us extensively to create a wedding ceremony that captured what we were looking for: personal, intimate, and meaningful. We went back and forth with numerous drafts where Dana offered lots of suggestions and ideas to get us where we wanted to be. We saw Dana at someone else's wedding and knew we wanted her to marry us because of the feeling and environment she created, and she did exactly the same for us.

Dana handled everything with top professionalism and care. Was very responsive on email, wrote a beautiful ceremony that really captured us as a couple, and took my request to start and finish the ceremony at a specific time for my astronomy chart very seriously ;) and she hit the timing perfectly! Most importantly, she embued the ceremony with such warmth and love, I felt she actually married us with her spirit, not her words. That was unexpected, and special beyond words. I would recommend any couple that wants to married by the higher spirit should choose Dana. As a Catholic, I've never met a priest who could do better ;)

As soon as I met Dana, I knew I wanted her to officiate my wedding. When my now wife met her, she knew why - her beaming smile and glowing personality make Dana so pleasant to work with. My now husband and I were really struggling trying to decide who we wanted to marry us. We are both Jewish but did not necessarily want to get married by a rabbi. When we finally found Dana we were so relieved. She is so warm and friendly and by the end of our initial phone call we felt like we had known her forever and knew she was right for us. Dana truly understood what we wanted and made our ceremony completely about us. While Dana offered wonderful suggestions for vows, readings, etc., she gave us the final say which meant so much to us. When our wedding day came everything was perfect and our ceremony was absolutely beautiful (and one of our favorite parts of the day). Our guests, who had never heard of a celebrant, were stunned at how wonderful the ceremony was. Friends who were already married said they wished they had used her and friends who are planning weddings asked for her number. We would recommend that EVERYONE use Dana.

Dana officiated our wedding June 4, 2016 at the Oakeside Mansion in Bloomfield, NJ. From the first moment we met Dana we knew she was the right choice to officiate on our big day. Her process for writing the ceremony was great: we had an initial discussion where she got to know us and then we filled out a questionnaire discussing our relationship. Dana then took that and turned it into a beautiful ceremony. She gave us options for flow and what we could and could not include. After a couple of drafts we had a very personal and emotional ceremony. Our wedding guests had great things to say about the day (food, music, etc) but EVERY single person we spoke to commented on how amazing the ceremony was. Most people thought that we had known Dana for years because the ceremony was so “us”. Dana was the perfect choice for us and we would recommend her to any couple looking for an officiant.

Dana was the best wedding decision we made! As an interfaith couple, we struggled on deciding who would marry us. My husband has known Dana since high school, so what better way to have a truly personal ceremony. From the day I met Dana, I knew she was perfect for our wedding! She is so incredibly kind, sweet, and genuine. She crafted our ceremony just for us, based on responses we had given her. She presented us with a few different options on how the ceremony could go. She also helped us pick some readings that we loved in our ceremony. She gave us the ideas and had us sculpt the final product, which made it truly memorable and personal. We wrote back and forth until we came up with a final copy. Our guests raved on how wonderful and beautiful our ceremony was! We truly thank Dana for everything she did for us! We could not of asked for a better ceremony, it was absolutely perfect! <3

I feel so lucky to have met Dana through this crazy wedding planning process. She is incredibly kind, genuine, and sweet. She met with us and crafted the most personalized, perfect ceremony for us. I've been to many weddings where the ceremony doesn't necessarily feel like the star of the evening in comparison to the other elements (cocktail hour, reception, etc). Dana was hands down the best officiant I've ever seen at a wedding! I know, I'm a little biased because it was MY wedding, but I've been to many weddings, and nothing has compared to what Dana did. I've gotten so many compliments from some of our 200 guests saying how wonderful our wedding ceremony was because of Dana. People enjoyed her enthusiasm as well as how she personalized the ceremony for us. We obviously loved it too. From the moment she came to our apartment to meet my husband and I, to the moment she said goodbye to us on our wedding day, she was nothing but exceptionally kind and professional. I feel so lucky that I came across Dana because I couldn't have imagined my wedding ceremony going any better. If you're getting married- you need to call her right now. You won't regret it!!!

OMG I could not be happier with my ceremony. Dana absolutely nailed it! The perfect amount of cute and fun mixed with the perfect amount of happy and tears. After only talking to us for about an hour, she managed to tailor a something that represented us perfectly. The wine box suggestion was GOLD and everyone couldn't stop talking about it. I couldn't tell you how many people approached to tell me how great Dana was. 10/10 would highly recommend =)

I don't even know where to begin to start about the quality of service Dana provided for my husband and I. I put off a lot of crucial wedding details, one of them was not the officiant, I had booked the church first... 3-5 months before the wedding the church canceled because it was during Lent, I freaked out, Dana was so good about my stress and my last minute request!

My husband and I met with Dana about three weeks before the wedding, we chatted for over an hour and after we left we knew she was perfect, she understood us as a couple with all our quirks and we felt like old friends. When we read the ceremony for the first time it was like she had been there for all seven years of our relationship, our ups and downs, she wrote it with elegance, finesse and just the right amount of humor (which is what we wanted).

Dana is the example of professionalism without sacrificing the warmth and compassion that we were really looking for. She was willing to work around my husband and my strange schedule, meeting us in the middle of the week late at night to accommodate us. She is one of the sweetest and most caring people I've ever met. Though she has been doing this for years she treated us like her very first couple lending so much attention to detail and eloquent wisdom.

At the wedding our friends and family couldn't stop talking about how amazing the ceremony was, how US it was, how she knew us so well. Dana set the tone for the wedding day, her ceremony is something we will never forget! I would recommend her to absolutely anyone, she is well worth her fee.

Dana first spent time with both of us, getting to know us and noting our interactions together. We then a provided additional detail about our relationship, and what makes us as a couple great, and what we admire about the other.
She created the most romantic, personal and wonderful ceremony for us, of which our guests and even the wedding location vendor noted was one of the best they've ever seen. There was not a dry eye in house. :)
It's clear that Dana truly loves what she does and gains a great deal of joy and satisfaction from her job as a celebrant.
Both my husband and I wholeheartedly recommend her to any couple that understands that beyond the dress, the cake and the DJ... the wedding is REALLY about the ceremony!

I cannot say enough good things about Dana Lawson. I attended a Dana Lawson ceremony 8 years ago and knew then that I wanted her to someday perform my ceremony. My husband and I did not want a ceremony like every other one we had been to and yet I did want to include some traditional aspects. Dana met with us in person to get to know us and then crafted a ceremony that captured us completely and was everything we wanted and more. We wanted a very different unity ritual - chocolate and peanut butter - and without batting an eye (or giving us a funny look) she said "I can write that" and gave us a ritual that had the perfect balance of lightness and reverence. Almost everyone attending commented on how beautiful the ceremony was and how Dana's delivery and tone set just the right "mood". The venue did not have the ceremony space set up quite right and Dana took charge and made sure everything was perfect. Dana was a very calming presence on a hectic day and with her in charge of the ceremony I had one less thing to worry about. A celebrant costs a little more than a religious officiant but you get so much more for your money. Our ceremony was uniquely ours and was the perfect start to a beautiful event. Go with Dana - you won't regret it.

My husband Steve and I could not have been happier with Dana Lawson as our wedding officiant. From our first meeting, she was professional, friendly, open to our suggestions and eager to make our ceremony exactly how we wanted it. She provided timely drafts of our ceremony and kept us on schedule to finalize in time for the wedding. And her delivery of the ceremony itself was great - no mixing up pronouns (which happened at a wedding I recently attended), no cracking jokes that are not funny and her voice was loud and clear so everyone could hear and enjoy. Many people at our wedding commented on how great she was and I would highly recommend Dana Lawson as an officiant to anyone looking for one (which I did to my sister whose wedding she also officiated this past spring!).

Dana Silverberg Lawson officiated our Wedding on September 22nd 2013. Right from the first time we met we felt a true connection with her. She was interested in who we were as a couple and learning about what we wanted to make our ceremony unique to who we were as a couple. Dana was always available to answer any questions we had. She gave us lots of time and attention and encouraged us to find our true voice. She wrote a beautiful ceremony and was amazing the day of our wedding. Dana is simply amazing!! My husband and I needed to find someone to marry us 3 weeks before our wedding. The original person that was going to marry us didn't work out and I was freaking out thinking we wouldn't find anyone. I came across Dana's profile on wedding wire and read great reviews about her. I emailed her that night and she got back to me within a few hours! She was the sweetest person I have ever met! She really loves what she does and you can tell by the work she did for us. She made a huge effort in getting to know us with only 3 weeks before our big day. She asked us lots of questions to get to know us and she really cared and truly loves what she does. We met her for coffee to discuss what we wanted in our wedding ceremony and we hired her on the spot! She was such a pleasure to work with and she really went above and beyond, especially with only 3 weeks till our big day. She actually sent us a draft a few days later of our ceremony. She was great with giving advise as to what to put in the ceremony also. She arrived early the day of our wedding and we got so many compliments on her ceremony. I am SOOO thankful that we found her. I couldn't have asked for anyone better than Dana! I highly recommend her. You will not be disappointed. I can't express how appreciative we are for everything she has done for us. My husband and I were married in June of this year(2013) Dana was our lovely Celebrant. Dana first met with us a few months before our wedding. We liked her pleasant personality and commitment to her craft. We were guided through the process and provided the personal information about ourselves,our family and hopes for the future which Dana used to create our personalized Wedding Ceremony . Our vows were beautiful! We also incorporated a water blending into the Ceremony which we both loved. Our guests really enjoyed the Ceremony and sharing our wonderful day! We were looking for a wedding that was different than any other we had ever been to. We thought the venue we picked would be what people thought was the most special part, us included. We knew Dana was gonna be great but turns out she was what made our ceremony so special!! People cant stop talking about the ceremony and how connected she made everyone feel. Her attention to detail, willingness to do just about anything we needed and her personality were all amazing. I knew from the moment we decided to use Dana that we made the best choice of our wedding process.

I am Jewish and my husband is Catholic and we wanted to have some religious traditions in our ceremony, but most of all we wanted to have a ceremony that reflected our love for one another. We found Dana online and read her reviews and decided we would meet with her. She was absolutely perfect. She was very responsive to all our needs and gave us lots of suggestions for our ceremony. We then created our own ceremony based on the choices Dana gave us and then Dana personalized the wording with specific quotes that my husband and I spoke with her about. The Ceremony was everything we dreamed of. After our wedding, we had numerous people tell us that the Ceremony was just like us and it was the nicest one they had ever been to. We can't thank Dana enough!

Dana is wonderful. We saw her perform a friend's wedding years ago and liked it so much, we wanted her to do ours. She met with us in person, so we felt like we got to know her before the ceremony. Then she had us each fill out a questionnaire, which she used along with her notes from our meeting to create a totally personalized ceremony. She sent us the script ahead of time and let us choose which parts of the ceremony we wanted to include (vows, ring exchange, etc.), so we weren't surprised or disappointed on our big day. The ceremony went smoothly, and was exactly what we wanted. Dana tailored everything to us, so even though we'd seen her do a ceremony before, ours was completely different. During the reception, at least a dozen guests told us it was the best ceremony they'd ever seen, and I have to agree.

Dana was just perfect! She was very professional from the beginning and worked with us to make sure we are happy with every aspect of our ceremony.
The ceremony was beautiful, Dana helped us organize our processional and we did not have to worry about a thing! We got married on the beach in December and even though it was very cold and windy Dana did a wonderful job!! We would definitely recommend her!!!

We had the most beautiful and meaningful ceremony I have ever witnessed. Dana met with us in person and truly listened to our love story as if it was the first she'd ever heard. She took time getting to know us which was the most meaningful part about the experience. Dana sent us a detailed questionnaire that asked questions that were enjoyable to answer and that also painted a picture of who we are as individuals and as a couple. She gave us many great suggestions about readings and rituals and let us determine our ceremony. It was a pressure-free experience from planning to execution. Dana accompanied us to our rehearsal, she was prompt and looked absolutely professional. She also did a great job of keeping the nerves away and the somewhat rowdy bridal party focused. After the ceremony, many of my guests asked me about Dana and different elements of our ceremony because it was simply that beautiful. The ceremony turned out to be the most beautiful and meaningful part of the day, not the party afterwards or the gifts or the dress. I cannot say how highly I recommend Dana. She is a beautiful person inside and out. Dana will devote time getting to know you, always answer questions right away and give you an absolutely beautiful wedding ceremony. Thank you, Dana for making the most important day of my life that much greater.

We cannot say enough about Dana- she is wonderful! She was able to craft a beautiful ceremony for our wedding that captured who we are as a couple. It was personal, heartfelt, and truly memorable. Dana was an incredibly caring and attentive celebrant, from the first meeting it was clear that she truly loves what she does. She really took the time to work with us on what we wanted out of our ceremony and was able to take all of our disparate ideas and craft a beautiful ceremony that was totally "us".

We used Dana for our wedding May 29, 2011. From the very beginning she was wonderful! She took the time to get to know us, learn about how we met, what we like about each other, and what are background are to create a customized ceremony. We wanted a ceremony that incorporated a few jewish traditions while staying fairly neutral in terms of religion. We didnt know too much about Jewish tradition but Dana brought a ton of knowledge to help us. She met with us multiple times, was always willing and available to talk and gave suggestions. She also handled our rehersal as well to make sure everyone knew what to do. We spoke to many officiants before we decided on Dana and we are so glad we chose her. She really does go above and beyond. If you are looking for an officiant and are able to book her, I would highly recommend it!

Dana was absolutely amazing. She lived a couple hours away from us, so she met us halfway at our first meeting...and I hired her on the spot! She's extremely friendly and it's obvious she loves what she does. She makes sure to personalize your ceremony as much as you want and makes it a point to get to know as much as possible about the couple. I got so many compliments on the ceremony after the wedding and I already had one friend ask for her information, so they can use her at their wedding! A+++++

Dana Lawson was a wonderful wedding celebrant. My husband and I were extremely pleased with her services. She is extremely warm and caring. I am Jewish and my husband is Catholic and Dana really worked with us to create a ceremony that matched our values and beliefs perfectly. She was always available to answer any questions we had and guide us through the ceremonial rituals. Since the wedding, we have received many calls from family and friends complimenting Dana, saying it was the most beautiful ceremony they had ever attended. I would highly recommend Dana to any couple getting married.

Choosing Dana to officiate our wedding ceremony was the best choice we could have made! She personalized our ceremony and gave us complete creative control so that we were 110% happy with it! She gave us options so it was easy to understand and make decisions. It was open-ended, but not too open-ended that it was difficult or confusing. The process was easy and fun, Dana made it a joyful experience from day one.

Friends and family told us that it was the best wedding ceremony they ever saw. During our Receiving Line, everyone was raving about the ceremony and how personal it was. People kept saying, "it was so you!" Guests were impressed with how clear and loud Dana was able to speak, and how nice she was. But most importantly, that it reflected us and our relationship - and that it was different.

It was spiritual, fun and an overall joyful ceremony. The last thing it was, was "stuffy" - like many ceremonies are. We had a great, fun time during our ceremony, which many couples aren't able to say.

We can't recommend Dana enough, she is absolutely fantastic!!!! If you want a ceremony that will reflect you through and through, then choose Dana!

Dana did an AMAZING job crafting our wedding. From the very first moment I spoke to her on the phone, she made me very comfortable and it was as if I had known her for years. When we first met her for coffee, it was like catching up with an old friend we hadn't seen in a while. The wedding was a second wedding for both of us, and she took the time to personalize the ceremony, including all of the things we wanted. She took the time to get to know us and put specific details about our relationship and our family into the ceremony. My father, who is a pretty traditional guy, has commented many times on how awesome our ceremony was, and how perfectly personalized it was. In many cases, an officiant will put together a cookie cutter ceremony for a couple, and the couple doesn't have much choice in what gets included. Dana is NOT one of those people! If you want a ceremony that is created specifically for you, and one that you and your guests will remember forever, Dana is the wedding weaver for you!

My husband and I did not want a traditional church wedding and opted for a intimate outdoor ceremony followed by our reception.

We received so many wonderful compliments on how unique and personal our ceremony was.

We loved that it was specifically customized to us. Dana was there every step of the way, providing us with the materials and guidance to craft our ceremony into something truly special. She has many different options to make your ceremony exactly what you envision.

My now husband and I were caught off guard about 3 weeks before our wedding when our planned officiant canceled. Panic! We searched online for local officiant's, found 3 that we considered, and emailed each. Instantly upon hearing back from Dana (and even before we heard back from her - lol) we knew she was meant to marry us. Luckily, within HOURS, we received a response and set up a date to meet.

Dana wanted to and enjoyed getting to know us, know about our relationship, and know why we wanted to be married. She asked us wonderful, fun questions and from there, crafted the most amazing, personal, heartfelt ceremony we had ever heard...and how lucky that it was OUR OWN ceremony we were witnessing this at!! Dana expressed every single thought and wish we had for each other, and our guests, through our ceremony. Dana sent us rough drafts and asked for our input, which we loved.

We loved with Dana that she provided us a truly unique ceremony that could not have embodied us more. She gave us a gift that we will be forever grateful for. Not only is she a beautiful person, but she is a beautiful soul. She loves what she does, and the person in the back row of our ceremony could feel the love that radiates from her.

Our guests are STILL talking about what a beautiful and special ceremony we had ~ which to us, seems like what a wedding should be. She made it about US. And, Dana made our ceremony so special, that it was a gift in itself.

I also have never met a more professional woman in my life. If you are blessed enough to have come across Dana Silverberg Lawson, CELEBRANT ;) ~ you are certainly blessed, indeed!! No need to hesitate :)

Dana was not only a joy and absolute "light" for us, but she was more than we could have asked for. After our original pastor had to be removed as our officiant, we found ourselves without any to perform our ceremony. Somehow we can across a site for officiants, and Dana was the one who responded to our request. After one or two meetings, we felt so comfortable with her that we hired her. She made our ceremony more amazing than we hoped it would be. She planned every detail the way we asked for it, and she used every bit of information she asked from us or she learned from us. We could not have been happier with her services. We are very glad to say that we continue to stay in touch with her, and consider her a great friend now as well.

Dana wove an amazing wedding for us. It was personalized for us, including some of the traditions we felt strongly about. Even now, almost 5 years after we were married, people still comment on how perfect the ceremony was for us, how much it reflected us as a couple, and how awesome Dana was. The ceremony didn't drag on, and was a great mix of humor and solemnity. I will be forever grateful to Dana for crafting the absolute perfect ceremony for us. She's also wonderful to work with, and from the very first moment we met her, we were comfortable with her, as if we'd known her for years. She has that way about her, and it's a very calming influence for a crazed bride.

Dana was the perfect celebrant at our wedding ceremony in Princeton, NJ. We were looking for a celebrant to help us pull off a non-religious, personal, touching, but fun and enjoyable short ceremony (about 20-25 minutes). She did just that.

My favorite part of the ceremony she crafted for us was that we were able to really share our reasons for loving one another without having to read our own vows - we sort of spoke through Dana, as much of her script included selections of writing my husband and I wrote in response to her survey. This took a lot of the pressure off of us on the day-of, but still allowed for our guests to "hear" from us.

Dana is warm, friendly, and professional. She'll meet you for a coffee before you book her - and from that initial meeting, we knew she was the right celebrant for us.

I strongly recommend her!

We planned our whole wedding in 3 months and Dana was extremely helpful in pulling the ceremony together. She was always quick to respond to questions and had great ideas to help us incorporate pieces of ourselves into the ceremony.

Dana was AWESOME to work with! We recieved so many complements on our ceremony. Most people said it was the best ceremony they have been to. Dana really takes the time to personalize your ceremony and more than includes you in the crafting of the ceremony. Dana was wonderful! When a friend asked me what I was most looking forward to regarding the wedding, I responded "the ceremony!" Dana was extremely helpful and was able to work with us on a tight schedule. She listened to what we wanted and created a beautiful service for our wedding. She got to know us so that it felt natural during the cermony and she was able to incorporate our story into our vows. We enjoyed working with her and would recommend her to anyone!
