Dana was the best vendor decision I made. I cared the most about the pictures for my wedding and Dana exceeded my expectations. Wonderful experience and great photos!

Dana was wonderful! She was great to work with and was very calm and relaxed throughout the day. Dana does a great job of capturing the emotion and the lighting in her photos is stunning. Dana was also really organized beforehand making sure she had the exact list of all the formal family photos we wanted so the process would run smoothly and quickly. My husband and I would definitely recommend her!

Wonderful experience

We are so Thankful we chose Dana for our photographer.
My son and his fiancée decided on a beach wedding but did not know anyone in the Jacksonville area.
We started our search by calling wedding boutiques and wedding planners in that area. The same name kept coming up
" Dana Goodson" after visiting her website and speaking with her over the phone , I knew she was the one!!
I am a retired photographer myself so I'm pretty picky and knew what I wanted. Her understanding of light and the ability to capture those special moments were what I was looking for.
Her professionalism was outstanding and made their special day a beautiful success.
We are all thrilled with the images she captured!!!!

Wonderful photographer!

Dana was extremely professional, fun to work with, creative and we got the most beautiful pictures we could have ever asked for. I would highly recommend her for any venue! We had outdoor, nighttime wedding which can be challenging. The lighting and everything was perfect!!

Excellent experience! Highly recommend Dana!

Dana photographed our May 2019 wedding on Amelia Island and we could not be happier with our experience working with her as well as our photos. We booked Dana as our photographer more than a year in advance and for the entire time leading up to our wedding she was organized, communicative, kind, and walked us through the process step-by-step. She was extremely quick to respond to any questions or concerns that we had. On our wedding day, she guided us and our family through every shot with firmness, yet kindness. It was clear she knew what shots she wanted and was able to effectively communicate with us so we could position ourselves appropriately. She was also able to work quickly, particularly with our formal shots, so we could spend more time with our guests. She was calm and sure for the entire day which allowed us to let go about worrying about the photos and just enjoy the day. I wholeheartedly recommend Dana to any couple looking for a wedding photographer.

Absolutely lovely!

Dana did an INCREDIBLE job on our photos! I was so pleased with how they turned out. Not only that, but Dana was so helpful throughout the entire experience (as we know weddings can be stressful!). This was one less thing I had to worry about. She did a great job of getting lots of different sceneries which made for plenty of unique photos. It’s impossible to choose a favorite! I had multiple people tell me our photos looked like they should be in a magazine! She was so pleasant and friendly and I would absolutely refer anyone to her!

Best investment from our wedding!

We worked with Dana for our wedding at Club Continental over 8 years ago and I love our pictures just as much today as when we first got them back. Dana was so easy to work with during our engagement pictures and during the actual wedding day. We ended up losing power after a storm came through and you cannot tell a thing from the pictures -- they are perfect! (Club Continental was great during the power loss if you are considering them as well!) The style of her photography is so timeless and beautiful. Two of my good friends that attended my wedding ended up working with Dana for their weddings after they saw how great our pictures were. I HIGHLY recommend working with Dana -- you will be so glad you have her pictures to remember the day after the wedding is complete.

I just finished reliving my daughters beautiful New Years Eve wedding at Epping Forest Yacht Club. I do so at least once a week by going through the absolutely gorgeous photos that her photographer, Dana Goodson, took. The pictures are seriously stunning. Dana captured Meg and Jay's wedding perfectly from start to finish, doing it with a smile on her face! She arrived to the bride's room right on time and like clockwork took charge, creating a vision of fairytale pictures. So many of our guest complimented us on how they loved the fact that everything was so organized, and they weren't having to wait hours after the ceremony to wait on the bride and groom while they had their pictures made. Dana knew exactly what to do in a timely manner, and the wedding couple actually got to enjoy the cocktail hour rather than to pose for a million pictures, due to the fact that Dana choreographed the whole thing so well. We also didn't have to wait long to get the photos back, and she even sent us a sneak peak while my daughter was on her honeymoon! If you are looking for a quality photographer for your wedding, who knows how to capture the most beautiful moments, look no further than Dana Goodson. Truly one of the best decisions we made.

Dana was the perfect choice as our wedding photographer. She was highly recommended by our friends and family, and she did not disappoint. Dana will capture those memories that you will share for a lifetime. She did a great job photographing the emotion of our wedding, if I had to do it all over again, I would pick her every time.
After a short call to Dana we knew that she was passionate about photography and not only recording our event through photos but really capturing the memories for us.

On our wedding day she captured my husband and his groomsmen quickly and stayed out of their space enough to see those emotions that were still trying to stay hidden. She arrived early to my getting ready location, before I knew it we were supposed to be on the way to our first look. Looking back, one of the best parts of the day was Dana seeing the amazing lighting that just happened to occur at our location, she delayed the timeline and made sure to capture me getting ready in that light. She gave us as much time during the first look as we needed until she set us up for other shots. This time alone with my husband was great, it was as though she wasn’t there.

If I can give any future words of advice to a bride or groom to be – make slow movements, look at each other, be you and enjoy the day. Let the photographer capture you all – those are the photos that will bring back memories of a lifetime. Your friends will take enough photos to “record” the events on their phones, but let the photographer capture the moment and the emotions. Dana will do exactly that.

Choosing a photographer for our wedding was a HUGE deal. We didn't have a videographer, so capturing our day and the feeling it gave us through photos was of utmost importance. Dana was extremely easy to work with and very professional. We had an initial call with her to talk through our options and what we can expect from her services. She was also very willing to listen to what we wanted and was open to any additions/changes we requested. On the day of the wedding she showed up on time and her and her assistant were extremely professional and did a great job of capturing the moments without you even knowing they were there. Dana did an amazing job with the photos & editing, and we are in love with how they turned out. Another thing we really appreciated about Dana was her quick turnaround time in getting the photos back to us - this was a HUGE plus as a bride dying to see photos!!! Choosing a photographer was our biggest priority after booking our venue so we put a lot of time and effort into finding the right person. After doing tons of research we finally decided on Dana, and it was one of the best decisions we made. We loved working with her! Not only is her work absolutely stunning, Dana is the nicest person you could ever hope to work with. She always responded to questions quickly, and she was very helpful, offering great advice when we were trying to choose locations to shoot our photos. My husband and I were nervous the day of the wedding because we don’t like being the center of attention, and we thought we’d feel uncomfortable posing for pictures, but Dana and her assistant were so comfortable to be around and so good at what they do that they put us completely at ease. We actually had fun hanging out with them while we were taking pictures!

And let’s not forget about the quality of Dana’s photos: they’re gorgeous. Unfortunately, the weather was not very cooperative the day of our wedding (there were reports of snow flurries and the skies were overcast and gray), but Dana is so good at what she does that the undesirable weather didn’t stop her from capturing beautiful photos of our day. We got our pictures back quickly after the wedding, and everyone that’s seen them has commented on how talented she is. They’re that good.

We really can't say enough about Dana and the quality of her work. Her photos are amazing, and she's such a pleasure to work with. I would highly recommend her to anyone planning a wedding!

I once had a friend who said to me: "You're when you go for your wedding photography, you are really only hoping to get just that one photo that you will display in your home for the rest of your life"; well with Dana I can firmly say that we have more than just 1 or 2 photos hanging in our home, instead you find a variety of different and compelling photos placed throughout. Dana was absolutely superb and did an amazing job of capturing both the set piece moments as well as those candid shots during the ceremony and reception. Her knowledge of photography, color, and lighting really made our photos spectacular. We could not have been more pleased with the way everything turned out!!!

Let me begin with the fact that she is by FAR the most amazing photographer-ever! When I married my husband, neither he nor I had ever been professionally photographed until our wedding day..... we did not do engagement pictures, had never had any family photos done...nothing! Dana worked with us so wonderfully and allowed us to completely reflect on our day- and oh my goodness did she produce our beginning! Our pictures were seriously amazing. Dana is fabulous. I can't recommend her enough as a photographer for someone's special day. Everything was very laid back and fun but also organized and to the point which was important to me. I didn't want to spend the entire day trying to round up everyone for pictures. She was so easy to work with and everything fell into place. My husband didn't even complain too much (and he hates pictures). She returned our pictures in a timely manner and I had so many compliments. She captured the entire day perfectly from getting ready with my best friends to dancing the night way on the dance floor. I couldn't have asked for someone better to capture our love together. Everything looked so natural! Using Dana Goodson as my wedding photographer has been my dream for years. The natural way she captures moments during a wedding day is incredible, I have always enjoyed browsing her blog and looking at the emotion filled photos she posts. Booking Dana for my wedding was the most important part of the planning process. She was kind, professional and easy to work with. The online payment and contract system was an absolute breeze and really put my mind at ease during a time that I was hearing price quotes from vendors and signing contracts every few days. Working with Dana at the wedding was incredible, she interacted so smoothly with my family and bridal party I forgot she was not an actual member of the family. She got incredible shots of our day without us feeling like we were part of an ongoing photo-shoot. Choosing a photographer is perhaps one of the most important decisions of the wedding planning process. Once I reviewed Dana's portfolio and spoke with her, I knew she was the photographer for me. Her photos are absolutely gorgeous and timeless. I did not want trendy photos, but photos I would love in 50 years, and Dana blew my expectations out of the water. She has a talent for lighting- each photo captures the light beautifully and she seemed to get every moment of the wedding day. We got married during the Nights of Lights in St. Augustine so we wanted some nighttime photos- and WOW! Not many people can create a beautiful photo shoot at night, but Dana certainly did. Aside from her talent, Dana is so sweet and personable- a true pleasure to work with (and that's very important when you are spending 10+hours with a person). Thank you for everything, Dana! I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dana and her team. Being from Chicago and having a wedding down in Florida it was a risk hiring vendors and not knowing much about them, but Dana not only met our expectations, she exceed and so much more! Prior to the wedding and in the planning phases, was responsive and super communicative over email, phone and even made the time to meet with us in person on one of our trips to Florida. As for the day of the wedding everything ran so smoothly, she assisted in making the timeline in advance which was a vital piece to the day. She was such a calm and laid back presence the day of the wedding. She was a pleasure to work with, she was quick, efficient and did a great job of not letting the pictures take over the wedding or taking up all the time. We are so appreciative of her sweet personality and wonderful photography skills. We recently received the final photos and they are FANTASTIC, she captured every vital moment along with the small mundane ones which made it all so much more special. She did a great job candidly telling the story of our day through her amazing work. We are so so so happy that we found Dana and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a fabulous photographer!

Perfect.

I could have written this review the day after the wedding, just knowing how great our interactions were with Dana leading up to our wedding and throughout the whole day; however, I was patient enough to wait and receive the final collection of our wedding photos. All I have to say is... they are perfect!

Dana managed to capture our day perfectly from each posed photo to the candid snaps of friends and family! We so appreciated her calming presence the day-of the event and her constant communication leading up to the wedding. I remember in one of our last conversations prior to the wedding, Dana had asked if there was anything she could bring, any errands she could run, or anything additional she could help with... I was floored! We hired a photographer, but Dana also prioritized keeping both my husband and I comfortable knowing that we had another set of hands available for any last minute items. Her willingness to contribute to our event was phenomenal!

Her eye for capturing a great image is wonderful, and we appreciate each and every picture! Additionally, we were amazed at all the different images and angles she captured throughout the ceremony and reception-- Dana only came with a single assistant; however, you would have thought a whole team was present with all the moments captured and not missing a single item.

We highly recommend Dana for any photography needs!

Dana was great to work with before, during and after the wedding. Her candid shots were amazing and she was able to capture the excitement from our day. We had a large bridal party and Dana was very patience with us. We also opted for engagement pictures which I highly recommend as it gets you comfortable being in front of the camera and gives more time for more relaxed couples photos. Both sets of photos were amazing and I would recommend Dana to any brides out there!

Dana is amazing. From our first time meeting her at our engagement shoot last May, we knew she would be great to work with. Our engagement photos came out perfect and definitely made us even more excited for our big day in November. Our wedding pictures came out AMAZING. She really has an eye for candid and emotional shots. We loved every single picture. Her blog post of our wedding day even got us recognized for an article in The Florida Times Union.

I would give Dana 100 stars if I could. She is absolutely THE BEST. She is a professional in every sense of the word. We received our engagement shoot photos and wedding photos back in less than two weeks of each event. Every picture was perfect. It is impossible to chose a favorite.

She isn't cheap, but it is worth every single penny. I don't think photography is something that a bride should try and get a deal on. People won't remember what the cake looked like or what types of flowers were on the tables. But you will ALWAYS have your wedding photos to look back on and if you go with Dana you'll be happy forever.

She was always on time. She was easy to communicate with. I would suggest following her lead come the day of. Tell her if there are specific photos you want, but know that she is the best in town and trust in what she is doing.

The photographer was the one vendor that was absolutely our top priority once the venue was chosen. At the end of the day and in the years to come, the pictures will be our lasting evidence of the most important night of our lives. Dana is professional to work with and her images are stunning. We loved working with her and she was truly able to capture all the emotions and wonder of the day. Dana is hands down outstanding and amazing! She is professional and fun to work with on top of being a true artist. She has a way of making anyone comfortable in front of the camera. My husband and I both get nervous being the center of attention and worried that it would come across in our engagement and wedding photos. During our engagement session, Dana was so sweet and gave such clear and easy to follow suggestions for poses that we quickly became comfortable and relaxed. After experiencing this during our engagement session, it put our minds at ease and allowed us to feel so much more relaxed on our wedding day. Even when it unexpectedly began raining just before our ceremony and wedding party group shots, Dana remained positive and calm. She transitioned to backup shots without missing a beat that came out just as beautiful as what we originally planned. Her calm, positive demeanor are such an asset when you are spending such an important, emotion-filled day with her. During our wedding she seamlessly captured every moment without ever being invasive or taking away from the moment. After our wedding day, our families couldn't stop talking about how great our photographer was. Needless to say, her photographs are breathtaking! We recently received our album and couldn't be happier. Dana is worth every penny! I completely agree with the advise that a wedding photographer is a worthwhile investment. After all, every aspect of your wedding will only look as good as the way your photographer captures it.

Dana's abitlity to capture special moments is remarkable!! Looking back at the pictures brings us such great memories that we didn't even realize were being recorded! She does amazing candids as well as formals. To top it all off, she is a dream to work with. Dana was AMAZING! I can not begin to say enough about Dana, her professionalism, timeliness, and most importantly, her photography.

My wife and I researched photographers throughout all of NE Florida and after looking at other reviews and individuals work, came to the conclusion that Dana Goodson was by far the best choice for a quality wedding photographer. Your wedding photos will be the one thing you truly hold on to and remember from your special night. I can barely remember what our dinner tasted like, or what the flowers looked like, or which songs the band played, but we still look at our photographs almost every day and they will still be here to show our children and grand-children in the future. So my advice...spend that extra money on the photographer. You will be thankful you did if you use Dana for your wedding, even if you take a hit somewhere else on your budget.

Dana was extremely easy to communicate with from the first day I contacted though receiving our final photo collection. She was more than accommodating to our schedule and plans, even meeting us in person at a coffee shop to get a feel for us as a couple and discussing our preferences for special photos. Dana's photos are the work of a true professional. Just go to her website and see the amazing images she captures at every wedding.

When shopping for a photographer for my wedding, once we came across Dana Goodson's website, we knew we had found the best. She has a unique way of using light that makes the photos appear sharp and vibrant. The pictures from our wedding were absolutely beautiful and we could not have been happier. Can I give Dana 10 stars?? 5 stars do not begin to describe how amazing she is! Dana was the first and ONLY photographer that my husband and I met with for our wedding and engagement photos. We immediately fell in love with her personality and her elegant style of photography. Not only is she personble and down to earth, but she is professional and captured each special moment of our wedding day and created pictures that belong in a magazine (not to be biased:). She also included a free engagement session and traveled an hour to our venue during a hurricane-like storm. You would never be able to tell in our pictures that it had been raining and lightning for hours. She is wonderful and I will be recommending her to everyone.

Dana sent us 3 sneak peek photos on the night of our wedding. They looked amazing!!! They truly look like pictures out of a magazine. Since my husband and I did an elopement wedding we never met with Dana prior to wedding. Dana was real down to earth and patient. She really knew where to have us go for our wedding portraits after our nuptials. (She seemed to really know the St. Augustine area), She took the time looking for adequate lighting and brought 2 cameras and a backup camera just in case. She truly captured our love for each other. I was a bridesmaid in a wedding where Dana was the photographer and fell in love with her photos! I knew that Dana was the photographer I wanted whenever my big day came. From engagement photos to wedding, Dana was fantastic. She was always prompt, knew exactly what she was looking for in her photos, and made everyone at the shoot at ease. My husband was nervous at first (during the engagement photos), but working with Dana then made him much more comfortable during our wedding photos. If you are planning your wedding, everyone will always give you the same advice- get a good photographer and don't sweat the small stuff. I can't say I was very good at the latter, but I was dead set on getting a good photographer. I booked Dana before I had even settled on a venue, and I couldn't be happier that I did. She is so talented, responsive, friendly, and willing to work with you to get unique shots. I am definitely not a natural when it comes to being comfortable in front of the camera, but Dana's photography skills made it look like modeling was my side-job. Our engagement and wedding photos are breathtakingly beautiful. So, get a good photographer- go with Dana!!!

I cannot expressed how thrilled I am with my choice to use Dana as our photographer. As soon as I saw her pictures, I was in love. Dana is such a kindhearted person and talented photographer, and she truly takes the time to get to know each of her clients. My husband and I just received our wedding pictures from Dana and there are no words that can express the amount of gratitude and happiness that we have for Dana and her work. We had a big wedding party, with a few rowdy guys and to top that off, it not only rained, it poured moving our outside ceremony inside and limiting places to take pictures. Dana did such a great job of working with what she had to work with given the circumstances. Dana is truly an amazing and talented photographer! I simply fell in love with her portrayal of many wedding stories and couples and it was clear that she had a gift. Dana Goodson is truly amazing! My husband was very helpful in the wedding planning process, and his one wish was to have the best photographer we could find. Photography was most important to him, so we took a lot of time making our decision. We browsed countless websites, blogs, and friends' photo albums. We came across Dana's blog and fell in love. Once our wedding planner recommended her without our prompting we knew we had chose the right one! Dana is so easy to work with, always responds in a timely manner, and truly gets to know you as a couple as much as possible before your big day. She even came to us for our engagement shoot and spent hours with us in several locations. By the time our wedding came around, I felt like Dana was my friend AND photographer which really helped put me at ease. Everytime someone asked who our photographer was and we responded happily "Dana Goodson"! , undoubtedly the response was a few "oooh's and aaah's" with an "I LOVE her work". Dana was great to work with! We had a wedding on VERY short notice and she was very accommodating in waiting until the last minute to find out details; not that I recommend doing that to her again :) I would recommend her to any one!

Dana Goodson was a pleasure to work with. She did a beautiful job capturing our big day. I'm from Texas but I hope one day in the future we will go back to Florida to have her do family photos for us! Lover her!

Dana is a very polished and professional photographer. She seemed to be everywhere on the day and captured a lot of fantastic detail. In particular we liked that she didn't "coach" us too much to pose or look a certain way - we felt very natural and relaxed. As a result we have beautiful, candid photos that capture the feeling of our wedding, not just the Pinterest-perfect angles (though we have a few of those too!)

My wife and I shopped portfolios for about a dozen photographers. We interviewed each one in detail. We picked Dana, because we found her attention to detail and her innovative style impressed us. I am a professional photographer, and I know quality when I see it.
I am even more impressed with the finished product. Her work is fabulous.
On the day of the wedding she was totally unobtrusive, totally responsive, and extremely professional. She understood and anticipated the heightened emotions of the day and produced a portfolio that my daughter and our family will cherish forever.
If you want the best photographer possible, then call Dana.

Dana was perfect! She captured every special moment of our wedding day. When I look at her pictures now they take me right back to those moments. She was quick to respond to all of my questions and concerns which was very important since I was an out of state bride. We had several conversations before our big day and I knew just what to expect from her- which was very important because we couldnt meet in person. We have received nothing but positive feedback when we show our pictures to others and most people are just in awe of how beautiful every photo is. Just wish we lived closer so she could capture more of our special moments in life. Thanks for everything Dana!

We were so happy to have Dana as the photographer for our wedding, especially on New Year's Eve. Our wedding was at night and we wanted a photographer who really knew what they were doing because not everyone can capture a nighttime event. Dana was very professional and people remarked that it seemed like she was everywhere all night. The photos turned out so magical and capture every bit of wonder and happiness we experienced on the most important of days. I will say one thing, Dana does not do any photoshopping at all, which is why this is not a straight five star review. Fortunately, my husband has some photoshop skills and was able to remove her assistant and lights/cords, etc. out of some of the photos. I just felt the service should have included the thoughtful removal of those obvious obstructions at the price paid. That is the only complaint, however, on an otherwise overwhelmingly positive experience with a very talented photographer.
