Fantastic! Really 'got' us!

Scott was an amazing DJ for our wedding. He was great at reading the crowd and getting our not-dancy friends and family up on the floor during the reception and was an awesome MC, making sure he got everyone's name down perfectly. Prior to the wedding, we met with Scott a few times and he was willing to drive out to meet us in person; something that we really appreciated. We hired him for the photo-booth as well and our guests absolutely loved it!

10/10 would hire/recommend.

Absolutely perfect! We used Cuttin the Rug DJ for both music and Photo Booth. Everything was hands down the best. The music and mic for ceremony was also done by them. Scott played the best music. Our dance floor was perfectly packed the whole night! The photo booth had the best props and was used all night. Scott met with us a couple times and was very professional. He knew exactly what he was doing and we trusted him. Definitely the best!

Seriously the best! Scott was amazing! From our very first meeting I knew he was a good fit for us. He handled everything at our reception from the moment we walked in the door until the very last song was played. He played everything we asked him to and nothing we didn't want. The dance floor was hoping from the very first song until the last. We also got the photo booth, and our guests loved it! The attendant did an amazing job, and also was very friendly and professional. I have to say that Scott is amazing and he did an outstanding job of making sure that our reception was one to remember!

Scott was great to work with. He made our wedding day run smoothly, and took care of all the announcements and events perfectly. We told him a few weeks before the wedding that we had to make a time change and he was very flexible. The music was awesome and we would definitely recommend him!

Scott did an amazing job on our wedding. The dance floor was full the entire reception and our guests loved the music selection. I would highly recommend Cutting the rug to anyone looking for a great DJ at reasonable price.

Cuttin the Rug DJ Scott Newlin did a fabulous job as the DJ for our wedding. He was a complete professional, and I felt very comfortable with him handling the event as the DJ and the MC. We met with Scott two times before the wedding for pre-planning, and he helped to provide us with a schedule for the reception as far as grand entrance, cake cutting, and toasts were concerned. After dinner, and dancing started, he played a great variety of current and past songs to match the moment during the reception. A number of people complemented me on his services for just playing great music that kept the night going. Scott Newlin was recommended to us by someone who hired him before, and I was very thankful for the recommendation!

When I was looking to book a DJ for my wedding, I trusted the online reviews to help make my decision. I read so many wonderful reviews about Cuttin The Rug Dj, and DJ Scott Newlin. I want to say from personal experience, all the reviews are true! Scott did an absolutely amazing job at our wedding. From the time we first met with him (he does not pressure you to book at all), up to the day of our reception, he was willing and ready to assist us. He kept telling us to just show up to the event, and have fun. He insisted he would take it from there. He was so great by not just playing awesome music, but moving everything along in a timely fashion. We never felt rushed, or that we had to remind him of the next thing. He was perfect!!! We also used the Uplighting and Photo booth services. The room looked amazing from the lights, and the Photo Booth was a huge hit. All of guest commented how great the DJ was, and how much fun they had. I cant thank Scott enough for the amazing job he did. Great Company!!

Cutting the rug dj services made our wedding day even more special . Scott was very personable and enthusiastic about adding to our day. He was very professional and responsive with emails . He wanted to help make our day as easy as possible. He followed through with every request we had and made our wedding so fun and energetic . He was a real person not just someone who had a set playlist and a rehearsed personality . From the start of the ceremony all the way to last call Scott was awesome to work with . We also used Cuttin the Rug photo booth services and couldn't of been happier . The person running it, James, was responsible , trustworthy and energetic . They had great and new photobooth props and a very good set up. We received so many compliments after the wedding at how professional and fun our staff was at the wedding . I would highly recommend Cuttin the Rug dj to anyone. They are affordable and worth it. They make your wedding day the best it can be. They are also just very good people to have that day due to there fun personalities.

Wonderful service, great guys, had a blast with them. They kept the crowd happy and helped keep track of times and when it was time for dinner and games. Couldn't have had a better DJ, glad we had them at our Wedding.

Scott and Andrea went above and beyond for our wedding. From the first time we connected, to the end of our wedding night, they were professional, energetic, exciting, and most importantly followed all of our requests. I would recommend them to anyone. The photo booth book Andrea put together for us was amazing as well.

I used Scott for both DJ and photobooth, and I was not disappointed!

Scott is super friendly and makes you feel comfortable working with him from the very beginning. He is responsive so you don't have to sit for long waiting for him to respond to an email or call, which is so important when planning a wedding!

The thing I like most about using Scott is that he keeps people on the dancefloor! He feels out the crowd and if he starts playing a song and people start to leave the dance floor he fades out to a new song in a matter of seconds to get them dancing again!

We had so much fun dancing the night away! I received so many compliments on the DJ and photobooth and my engaged friends were asking for his number!

You can't go wrong booking your wedding with Cuttin the Rug DJ!

Scott was so easy to work with and made everything run smoothly! He had people on the dance floor all night long. I don't think I could have asked for a better DJ. We also used the photobooth, which was very fun and our guests loved it!

We had the pleasure of having DJ Scott for our wedding. He was absolutely amazing!!!! The most down to earth vendor we had! He was very professional and friendly to work with. He truly cared about the success of our reception. The dance floor was packed all night long, and our friends and family are still raving about him. He was Awesome and I highly recommend him!

Scott from Cutting the Rug DJ offered a complete disc jockey experience for our wedding this August in the southeast Michigan area. While we were looking for a very low key event, and preferred a simpler musical and activity based event, Scott not only ran with this for us, but basically managed to stay completely in the background the entire wedding outside of the few announcements, etc we did desire. He was also very easy to discuss all the details with prior to the event, which helped eliminate one possible planning concern for us, and make the entire wedding go smoother as a result. Lastly he played a perfect variety of music for all guests, which helped ensure all guests from the young to young at heart had a great time on the dance floor.

We would definitely recommend Scott from Cutting the Rug DJ to anyone looking for a flexible DJ with a variety of event offerings, while keeping a professional environment that everyone at our event had a great time at.

Thank you again for helping to make our special day extra special.

I thoroughly enjoyed working with Scott. He was very receptive to my husband's and my requests for what we wanted played at our wedding. We had many compliments from our guests about our DJ at our wedding. One of the big hits was the dinner music; many people enjoyed identifying the songs. Cuttin The Rug DJ was incredible!!! DJ/Owner Scott was the friendliest vendor we worked with. He is professional, fun, and did a great job running the reception. His music choices were spot on, and we never had an empty dance floor. They also provided uplighting for our reception and it was beautiful.

Scott was a delight to work with. He was incredibly flexible and personable. We gave him a list of songs that were requested by our guests on their RSVPs with the instruction "to play them if he can."

Scott played many of the requested songs when appropriate and peppered in music that we, our group of friends, and our family heartily enjoyed. At no point was the dance floor empty thanks to Scott's expert reading of our guest's tastes.

He showed up on time, was ready to go when agreed upon, and was very friendly. I would recommend him to anyone hosting an event in the Detroit area!

Scott was fantastic to work with. He was the DJ at my best friend's wedding, & our first choice for our wedding. He was down to earth & easy to work with. We also felt that his prices were very reasonable. He was flexible with the unique setup of my venue, as well. He played good music that had everyone at our wedding dancing- young & old. Scott was such a fantastic DJ! He kept people dancing all night long, and really tailored our DJ and Photo booth package to our specific needs. He was responsive throughout the entire process, and kept the evening on track. We were able to dance the entire evening and not worry about a thing. Cuttin The Rug was great! DJ Scott DJ'd my wedding and was awesome. He was the friendliest vendor we worked with. He played great music and was an excellent MC.
We booked the Platinum package which included a DJ,Photo Booth, uplighting, and personal monogram light. They had the best prices around and all services were great. The uplighting was awesome, the Photo Booth was a blast, and the personal monogram was great!

Thanks for everything. I will highly recommend Cuttin The Rug to anyone!

We booked Cuttin The Rug for our wedding and had the owner DJ Scott for our wedding. From the very beginning, Scott worked with my fiancé and I and helped coordinate our reception. He was very insightful and had great recommendations to keep the flow of our reception going. His announcements were great and professional, and he kept the dance floor going all night long. We booked the Gold Package and chose up lighting (had a choice between Photo Booth or uplighting). The uplighting was amazing, and they even had the lights go to the music during dancing. All of guest loved it! I highly recommend Cuttin The Rug DJ and will use them for any future event that I or my family has.

Scott was wonderful to work with and was a hit amongst our guests! He kept the crowd entertained and played music that everyone enjoyed! The up lights were exactly what we needed to set the tone for the night and the photobooth was an extra touch to ensure our guests had fun! The equipment was top notch and he had an infinite number of songs to choose from! Scott was able to make a personalized monogram that made our night so special! Cuttin The Rug DJ is an asset to anyone's wedding or event and I highly recommend them!

I consider the entertainment part of a reception, the most important, and Cuttin The Rug DJ hit a home run! I had the pleasure of working with the owner, DJ Scott. He is so friendly and easy to work with. He also knows exactly how to keep the flow of the reception going good. He was an amazing M.C!!!! Scott had all kinds of music and kpt the dance floor packed. We hired Scott from Cuttin The Rug after hearing/seeing him at a friend's wedding last year and a fundraiser before that. He was a pleasure to work with, and easy going. As a bride i wanted to spend most of my night on the dance floor, which I did, and many of my guests too!! He did a great job introducing our wedding party, great music selection (he went with what the crowd was feeling and keep them on the dance floor), and awesome uplighting. We would hire him/them again (if we did it again).

Scott was absolutely amazing!! He did such a wonderful job not only with the music, but also as an Emcee. He was spot on with all the announcements that included the Grande entrance, Toasts, Blessing, dances, ect... He was such a nice person to work with and I HIGHLY recommend him!
The lightshow for the dance floor was awesome as well!! Thank You Scott for doing such a great Job!

Scotty has done many events for me and he is always fantastic! I always get so many compliments on how awesome the DJ is! He is fun, accommodating and he mixes great music!! I will never use another DJ!

Scott Newlin and Cuttin' The Rug DJ service performed for my daughters wedding January 7, 2012...Scott was fantastic! Kept the floor rockin' all night long, played requests, handled all the annoucements, cutting of the cake, toasts, bridal party dances, everything conducted perfectly! Our families & friends had a great time, a night to remember...Thank you, Scott!

Cuttin The Rug DJ is awesome. DJ Nick did our wedding in August, 2012, and was simply the best. He had on Professional attire,all anouncements were spot on, and played great music. Thanks Nick for making our night Magical!

My wife and I hired Scott recently for our wedding. We could not have been happier with his performance. From the point we booked with him to the end of the wedding night, we were continually impressed with his work. Scott kept us informed the whole way during the planning process and really was able to cater to exactly what we wanted. Scott showed up to the wedding in professional attire, excellent equipment, and superior emcee/DJ experience. Not only was I truly impressed with Scott's ability to keep the dance floor filled, but also his amazing personability over the microphone. Scott had my family and friends dancing from the time the floor opened till the last song - I could not imagine a better DJ than Scott. I highly recommend using Scott for any occasion needing an emcee or DJ. Thanks so much to Cuttin the Rug! You guys rock!

We loved our DJ he was great I know that a reception is made by the DJ, and we picked a great one! He did such a good job, the dance floor was packed and we could have danced all night long! Thank You! The lights are amazing too they made the hall look great!

If I ever do anything in the future where I need a DJ, I will hire Scott. He's incredible. He's friendly, he's easy to get along with, he works for you, and he's patient. He had all kinds of great music selections, he had just what I asked for. He even did my ceremony music and it was spot on. He was on time, he looked great, he was nice. When a song was requested that I put on my do not play list, he made sure that I was ok with that song being played before he agreed to it. He takes professionalism to the next level and I will recommend him to anyone!

Scott, from Cuttin The Rug, was great to work with. We had a short time to plan the music for our wedding and Scott was extremely flexible and easy to work with. I would recommend him for any event you are planning.
He had a clear plan to help setup the event and used his experience to help us figure out the details.
We had specific music we wanted for the cocktail hour and dinner, I provided him a list of the music and he either had all of it or actually found it, he has a very large selection. We had Blues and Jazz for the reception, then Classic Rock, 80's, 90's and well known classics for dinner and for the dance part of the wedding we provided him general guidelines and he made the night fantastic.
In Summary easy to work with, professional, lots of experience, good planning, all you have to do is tell him what you want and it will happen. If you can get Cuttin the Rug to DJ your event I would not look any further. Book with confidence.

Scott was extremely flexible both leading up to the wedding and that night. He communicated well and made great suggestions. There was miscommunication with the venue about the start time of the reception and Scott handled everything smoothly regarding timing so i didn't freak out. He also made some great suggestions regarding musical choices, but 100% left the control up to me. He wasn't pushy but assured us that we had ultimate control over the musical selections. He has an upbeat personality and many guests commented on how likeable he was. I would hire him again in a heartbeat

DJ Mike was great! Everyone danced and had a great time :). There were a few songs on my play list I'm not sure if they got played, but he did a fantastic job and we all had an amazing time. He even let my grandpa sing near the end of the night and when I forgot my garder one of the DJs offered me his tie :). I would definitely recommend them!

I had a great experience with Scott. He really listened to what I wanted and made it happen. We were on the dance floor all night long! Everything went smoothly and I could not have wished for a better DJ.

Cuttin the Rug DJ helped to make our event fun and memorable. Their staff was very friendly and professinal. They had a wonderful selection of music that fit our taste as well as our guests. We were impressed with their level of service and I hope to call on them again for our next big event.

We had Scott as our dj. In the beginning we started with a rough patch with communicating. We had a hard time getting a hold of him because he was very busy that month with weddings. But once we finally got to talk over everything we were very very pleased with the service he delivered to us! He had our guest dancing on the dance floor all night long!
