Exceptional and Beautiful

To start, our cake was sooo beautiful. Aesthetically we were beyond pleased. Truly, she is an artist. Penny was such a pleasure to work with and easily worked with our requests. The cake was delicious, as many as our guests made clear. Absolutely recommend to anyone in and around the Worcester/Boston area.

Wonderful!

Penny was totally profesional and super nice and gave us everything we wanted and gave great suggestions. On top of her cake tasting AMAZING, she was awesome with us! Could’ve have gone better. Highly recommend her!

Cakes By Penny was fabulous. She was recommended by our friends who were married in July and we loved their cake and ours was absolutely wonderful. The cake itself was delicious we had lemon raspberry and pumpkin spice for our top and the decoration was perfect. She was very professional and we loved that we were able to try samples not just see the pictures. Would recommend her to anyone!

Penny is absolutely wonderful and her cakes are delicious! She is easy to work with. My cake is one thing I did not have to stress out about from the moment we met with her til the day she delivered it. Not only did we have her do our wedding cake but it was so good a month later we had her make my father in-laws birthday cake!! I highly recommend Penny!!!

Custom Wedding Cakes by Penny has made my wedding day so special! Penny created a cupcake/cake wedding tier for my reception and I loved everything about it! The cupcakes were soft and fresh and I ate all the leftovers! I highly recommend Penny!

Penny made my daughter's quincenera cake. We gave her a picture of what we wanted. It came out beautiful, and it looked exactly the same as the photo. We were pleased to discover that it was also delicious. In all honesty, it was so beautiful, I figured we could take a hit on the flavor. I was surprised that it could be both beautiful and tasty. I also had some gluten free cupcakes made for my gluten-free guests, and those were awesome too. They were very moist and had great flavor.
I have 2 other daughters, and will be using Penny again.

Penny does such amazing work! Everything we asked for and then some. The flavor of the cake is some of the best we've ever had, the presentation was on point, and the cake was at the venue and set up not just on time, but a touch early. We will definitely use her again for other cake needs!

Penny was a joy to work with! We wanted a simple, elegant cake and it turned out beautifully. We had several guests who told us they wished they could have more and that it was so delicious. Penny was flexible throughout the whole process. Highly recommended!

I cannot say enough about how wonderful it was to work with Penny. When I met with her I had copies of designs I knew I wanted and when she showed me the many books of all the creations Penny has done over the years I was in awe. I ended up picking a custom design that was just beyond what I could dream up of on my own and if that wasn't enough to make me smile she asked what my wedding colors were to incorporate that into my cake, I didn't even know that was an option! After we decided on design we went to the best part, cake testing! I will just leave it as words cannot describe the amazing tastes and flavors that were offered, I was just so thrilled with everything from top to bottom. I spent so much time choosing the perfect dress and the perfect location and now months after when people talk about my wedding the only thing they mention is how great that cake was. Wedding planning is stressful enough and I can guarantee this is one vendor that will get the job done and leave you completely satisfied.

Penny is the sweetest woman and makes THE MOST DELICIOUS CAKES! She was kind, personal and totally reasonable. She really seems to love her work. We got a BEAUTIFUL cake and she (unlike other vendors) doesn't charge for a beautiful cake stand! We met with another vendor whose cake was dry and personality didn't come close to Penny's- and yet, that vendor wanted to charge use nearly $100 more!

Go with Penny- you won't regret it! With so many choices to make and vendors to juggle- this one is an easy YES!

The cake was so good that we didn't even bother freezing the top- we ate it the night before we left for the honeymoon! Also, I saw a good friend after the wedding and she told me that when someone at her table had to leave suddenly- she and her guest grabbed the rest of their cake and ate it...it was that good...

I first had one of Penny's cakes 25 years ago. Penny has built her reputation on the most amazing tasting cakes, now she has exquisite designs to go along with flavors. I could swear that her pricing has not changed either! I don't know how she does it, except that Penny has a passion for what she does. I was beyond thrilled that she wanted to do my small cake request with a rather short notice.
I selected a flavor without tasting, because with Penny you know you are going to get AWESOME!
Penny went above and beyond and gave me 2 samples of the Kaluha Cookie, making sure I had one to bring back to Mike. She also surprised me with making some extra accents to put on the cake!
I am so thankful and appreciative of her artistry.

Penny was wonderful! We have attended weddings that Penny provided the cake for in the past, so we knew of her work. She was very accomodating and prompt, and was flexible enough to work around our busy schedules to find a time to meet.
When we met with Penny, we had an idea of what we wanted our cake to look like, but we weren't certain about all of the details. Penny was extremely helpful in taking our ideas and also providing us with the right advice to make our cake work.
We were able to taste several cake flavors, and all of them were delicious! We decided on Penny's Kahlua cookie cake, which was amazing -- we highly recommend it if you are chocolate or coffee lovers!
We cannot thank Penny enough for providing our beautiful wedding cake!

She went above and beyond for my wedding cake. She is a true artist. I gave her a non traditional request on how we wanted our cake and she made it happen. She takes pride in her work and you can see that in the final product. My cake was the talk of my wedding. On top of the design being beautiful, it tasted great too. I could not be happier!

Very attentive to detail, professional, and the wedding cake tasted as beautiful as it looked. I've been to many weddings where the cake only look pretty but was too dry or tasted awful. Penny has a wonderful gift of being able to create the perfect cake that tastes perfect too! I can't wait to eat me cake for our 1 year anniversary!

Penny paid close attention to detail and created exactly what I had envisioned for my wedding cake. It was a spice cake, cream cheese frosting on the inside with butter cream frosting on the outside, it was delicious!!! I cannot wait to enjoy it again come our 1 year anniversary. A couple weeks prior to our wedding, our original baker had a family emergency and told us he could not make our wedding cake. He referred us to Penny. I called her and we discussed the cake over the phone and the urgency of our need to have a cake made for our wedding. Penny said she would make it for us on such a short notice. We provided her with a picture of the cake and she made it exactly as we asked. The cake was delicious and everyone enjoyed it. Thank you Penny for making us such a wonderful cake.

My husband and I were so pleased with having Penny make our wedding cake. We ended up picking a pumpkin cake that had a butter cream frosting on the outside and then a cream cheese frosting inside. It was the perfect cake for our fall wedding. The wedding was a wonderful event and the delicious cake just helped to top off the evening. We actually had so many of our guests come up to us and say that the cake was the best wedding cake that they had ever tasted! I totally recommend Custom Wedding Cakes by Penny. She makes beautiful delicious cakes and her prices are also very good.

I was a very indecisive bride and she was so helpful with putting my ideas together to create the most beautiful wedding cake we could have asked for. Penny Eagleton was extremely pleasant and easy to work with every at step of the process. She helped my husband and I come up with a design that really suited us by combining several ideas that we had. Beyond just looking at inspiration pictures, she really listened to us and took the time to understand the vibe of our wedding and matched it perfectly. And her cakes are delicious! There isn't a single flavor we tested that we did not like. You should definitely pick Custom Wedding Cakes if you are looking for a beautiful cake and a stress-free and fun experience.

Penny's cakes are outstanding! When my husband & I look back at our wedding day, one of our most favorite parts of the entire day was the cake! Our guests were talking about it long after. Not only was it gorgeous- but it was incredibly delicious!! We loved it so much that we asked Penny to make us a small cake for our anniversary in which she did gladly for us. Penny was absolutely amazing. We strived to use only gay friendly vendors for our wedding, and she didn't hesitate at all when we said we were a same sex couple. She treated us with respect and sincere friendliness.

She took our ideas - and they were different than most traditional/modern wedding cakes, and made them into a reality. We wanted a hexagon shaped cake and other bakers gave us grief over wanting such an unpopular shape, and Penny didn't even bat an eye and just said, "oh yes I can do that". She matched our wedding colors fabulously, put elements that we both really wanted with tiny hand-design work over the frosting, and it looked absolutely beautiful. Not only did it look pretty, but oh did it taste DIVINE! The cake layers were so moist and so fresh, and the frosting had just the right amount of sweetness, each bite left you wanting more!

Couples would be lucky to have Penny make their wedding cake!

Penny did an amazing job on my wedding cake and my grooms cake (New England Patriots themed football). She was so helpful in our consultation, and everyone at the wedding said our cake was the most delicious they had ever tasted. Loved!

I am a very picky person, if i have a vision in my head I want that exact image, i am also terrible at explaining what i want. Penny was able to execute my dream cake for my wedding it was exactly what i imagined in my head and it was beautiful so much so that i didn't want to eat , but i did and it was delicious! needless to say the cake was one of my favorite part of the wedding ! Penny was outstanding! She had waiting for us a selection of YUMMY cakes to test out, and a ton of pictures to choose from. She was very open if we didn't see what we wanted and OH SO PATIENT while we figured out what we did want. And then when we changed our mind on flavor mere hours after leaving her house, she let us change our flavor again. (REALLY recommend the kahula cake!) It was a big success. Highly recommend her!

I loved working with Penny. She did our wedding cake as well as a rehearsal dinner cake which was a birthday cake for our maid of honor and best man. I got lots of compliments on how yummy all the cakes were. She has wonderful flavor options to choose from. I am still hearing rave reviews about one of the flavors we picked -- raspberry cake with dark chocolate truffle filling. I can't wait for our anniversary so that we can take the cake out of the freezer and eat it! (We had 2 flavors for our wedding cake, but I made sure the top was raspberry/chocolate.) Each cake was so beautiful too!
Penny was responsive and professional. I think her pricing was excellent for a wonderful product.

We asked only weeks before the wedding for a cake to be made for Christmas Eve. Penny didnt hesitate, and was so easy to do business with. Her work is impeccable and her cake was delicious! I would recommend her in a heart beat. She went the extra mile when we needed it.

Our cake was beautiful and so so yummy!! My husband and I ended up eating the top layer that we were saving only 2 days after the wedding because it was so good and we couldn't wait a whole year! Penny made our beach themed cake for our wedding July 2nd, 2011. She was so easy and fun to work with and the cake was everything we wanted and more! Instead of traditional cake toppers, we had lobsters made of fondant and they came out so adorable. We also had seashells, starfish, and sandollars on the cake as well. Everyone loved the cake and people are still talking about how beautiful and delicious it was!

Penny was wonderful to work with. She welcomed us to her home for a tasting and a review of different styles. She was accommodating and made us feel at ease. The cake was delicious! She did both the shower cake - beautiful white cake with a giant lavender bow and the wedding cake - 3 tiered round white with strawberry filling! It was a pleasure to work with Penny. She was extremely professional and assisted us in choosing a cake that met our specifications. She was able to make our custom wedding cake with only a two week notice. The cake not only looked beautiful, it tasted delicious!

Penny's cake was unbelievable! We ordered the pumpkin spice with cream cheese frosting and we still have guests talking about how good the cake was. She also did a great job decorating the cake as we had discussed. She was very prompt and reliable - we would recommend Penny and her fabulous cakes to anyone getting married!

Penny made us an absolutely beautiful and delicious cake!! I had no worries at all, and I totally trusted her expertise, and she did just such a wonderful job! Our cake had SO MANY compliments. I am so glad I chose Wedding Cakes by Penny for my wedding cake service! It was AMAZING! Penny is so creative and flexible, she made planning my cake a blast. She never told me something I wanted wasn't possible. She kept in touch with me in the upcoming weeks to the wedding so we were always on the same page. And on my wedding day our glorious wedding cake was delivered in plenty of time to my venue. It was beautiful, artistic, and JUST what we wanted! Of all of the flavors she had to choose from, my husband and I picked Pumpkin Spice for our October wedding, and it was a huge hit! It tasted like donuts, it was incredible. I got more compliments on the cake than on my wedding dress!! :) An excellent cake-maker! Thank you Penny!!!!

The flavor options for Penny's cake's were all absolutely delicious - it was hard to choose! The cake was entirely customized to what we asked for and it was done beautifully and exactly what we pictured for a really great price. The cake was not only gorgeous but also tasty - we received so many compliments from our guests. Penny's work was seemless, we arrived at the reception to find the perfect cake waiting for us.

We were very happy with the cake Penny made for us; it came out exactly how we wanted. We only needed to send her a few example pictures of what we were looking for and our colors, and she ran with it and it was perfect. Looked like something out of a wedding magazine (look at her website and you'll see some examples of her work and level of detail she is capable of). Penny really is talented and experienced and it shows when you see your cake on your wedding day.

As far as taste, it was probably one of the best wedding cakes I've ever had. We went with a 3 layer cake with traditional white on the top and bottom and chocolate rasberry in the middle. We also got to try 3 other flavors during a tasting, all great.

All in all the process was easy, the results were great, and we would highly recommend Penny to anyone we know for their wedding.

Penny did an EXCELLENT job on both our wedding cake and groom's cake. She was very professional, efficient and provided great creativity/brainstorming when helping us to create our cakes! Both cakes were a big hit at our wedding! We would highly recommend her to anyone!

Our spice cake was super moist and super delicious! The frosting was superb and there was not a single piece of cake left -- I would say our guests LOVED the cake, and that doesn't happen all the time! I LOVED the calla lillies Penny created out of frosting.

Penny exceeded our expectations with making our wedding cake. We provided a picture to her and she added special touches to it. The cake was amazing!! We received many compliments on how beautiful her crafted hydrangea and rose flowers looked and the taste was delicious too!! We worked together with Penny from Maryland and it was made easy through her good communication and flexibility. My husband and I liked it so much we ate the top up too and didn't think twice about saving it for our 1st Anniversary:) We thank Penny very much for contributing to the success of our reception and would highly recommend her!!

Penny allowed us to go into her beautiful home where she provided a taste testing with several different flavors of cake, just so we could get an idea of what to expect from her work. She was very accommodating and allowed us to take as much time as we needed to go through her cake photos and make our decision, while she provided her opinions and input as to which route to go to meet our needs, style and desired taste. She delivered our cake in a timely fashion, and took pictures that she shared with us, which came out beautiful. Penny has many different styles and flavors to choose from and I would highly recommend her work to friends and family. We might eat the top of our cake for our one month anniversary rather than our one year because we just can't wait to taste it! It's a different flavor than our wedding cake was so we're looking forward to enjoying it. She is in a convenient location near 146 and off of route 20. Kudos to a job well done and another satisfied customer.

Custom Wedding Cakes by Penny was one of the best choices I made. My husband and I are pretty oppisite people but Penny had so many wonderful picture and ideas that we found exactly what we both wanted. I had meet with a few other vendors and they did not have any photos of their work and did not give much input. The taste of our cakes was amazing and I will suggest to anybody to go with the butter cream frosting since Penny makes it look so perfect. I am so excited to have this cake again on my one year anniversary.

This is the second time I have worked with Penny. Her cakes are beautiful, delicious, and very moist too. She was very flexible and accommodated all my needs. I called a week before my BF wedding (originally they were going to Vegas, so they did not have a cake!) and Penny was able to provide everything I had asked for. Over a few phone calls we discussed the flavors and design of the cake and I sent her a photo. The cake she delivered was absolutely perfect, better than the photo, and EVERYONE raved about it. If you are looking for a cake and have not tasted her cakes, I strongly recommend it!

We HIGHLY recommend Cakes By PENNY. My husband an I met Penny to pick a cake out for our wedding reception which was Hawaiian theme. Penny made us feel so at home it was if we had known her for years. Penny sat with us for hours and showed us pictures of all her previous designs and then the best part we had been able to sample 4 great sample's of her most scrumptious cakes, it was so hard to decide which flavor to pick from. I took one look at my husband and we both agreed it would be the banana cream cake...it was AMAZING! It was a perfect flavor for our s Hawaiian Theme. We discussed what we wanted on the top of the cake & Penney suggested she could make orchards to go on the top and on the other tiers. I was so excited...we had been counting the days to have this banana cream cake. On the day of our reception Penny delivered the Cake to the Spencer Country Inn with her husband. I have to say I was so impressed with her great concern and excitement of setting up the cake just right for us. I was so excited to be there to see Penny for she is the most friendliest, most caring women and Penny has an amazing talent. We must say this cake not only looked fabulous but it was everything and more it was so delicious. I also have to add that Penny made the cake a little bit larger than we discussed because she thought it looked better...WOW ..to have someone who actually was caring and thoughtful and added no extra charge. I just can not tell you how pleased and thankful that we selected Cakes by Penny. Penny's cake was a big hit of our reception and we are still talking about it and can not wait to have it on our 1 year anniversary. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication. I will recommend you to anyone who is looking for a cake.

Penny made our daughter her high school graduation cake 6 years ago and we new we would return to her when she got married some day. Well that some day has come and gone and once again Penny blew it out of the park! The cake was exceptional. We had three flavors and all were amazing. I have had the pleasure of tasting and experiencing countless Cakes by Penny as I worked as a Banquet Manager at Leicester Country Club. Every bride that writes a review can give their individual rating regarding their experience working with and purchasing a cake from Penny. I have had the pleasure of many great experiences and while I'm not the bride, I can tell you that there is none better! Penny takes such pride in her beautiful and delicious cakes! She is the most professional and easy to work with vendor that ever walked into a banquet facility. She will do anything to please anyone and her cakes.. in a word.. YUMMY!! She was during my employment at LCC the most widely used cake vendor and for so many reasons. I have seen many cakes at LCC as well as the facility that I am currently working as a Banquet Manager and I have never been as impressed, nor has my staff, as I have been with Cakes by Penny. My cake was absolutely gorgeous and it tasted just as great! Penny worked with my husband and me to design the cake that was perfect for us. She was friendly and patient. To top it all off, the day of the wedding, Penny delivered the cake and was looking for the flowers my florist left for the cake topper. Upon finding them at the restaurant she found all of my centerpieces that the restaurant staff never bothered to set up. Penny herself set up centerpieces for a wedding of 225 people. She is an incredible person and I highly recommend her to all future brides!

Penny has been designing cakes for years and has many options for you to choose from. However, unlike many vendors, you don't have to pick from a pre-approved list. After you decide what type of style you like, Penny will work with you to customize your order.

After you have decided on your favorite design, the best part is really choosing the filling. We chose one of Penny's classic flavors. It was simple but decadent - it was exactly what we wanted.

On the wedding day, Penny takes care of everything. She set up our the cake and carefully placed all the flowers on the top. Everything was perfect when our guests walked into the reception hall.

Penny was very professional and took the time to consult with us in person to make sure our cake was exactly what we wanted it to be. She showed us lots of pictures of cakes she had made in the past, and then used our ideas to create a custom cake that was exactly what we had envisioned. She had many samples for us to try ... all of them delicious! Penny was great in helping make one step of planning a wedding less stressful!
All the guests at our wedding loved our cake! We can't wait to get a taste again on our first anniversary!

My wedding cake was one of the star attractions of my wedding. I love the cape and Penny helped me pick out a beautiful cake with shells, starfish and sand...as well as, adding an adorable green pale and pink gerber daisy's which perfectly matched my bridesmaids dresses. We added a grooms cake with a picture of my actually husband in his high school football uniform. The picture on the cake was an exact replica of my husband. The cake tasted amazing and was loved by everyone at the wedding. There was not even a bit of the frosting leftover. The table the cake was on was also beautifully decorated by Penny. Penny was wonderful to work with and to be honest the price of her cakes shocked me. I expected to pay so much more....It definetly looked like I did! Thanks Penny

Penny created a beautiful and elegant tiered wedding cake with a clear water fountain and fresh flower design that was truly stunning! Penny worked closely with us and was extremely flexible. We changed our minds a few times, which didn't bother her at all. She was very patient and understanding to the fact that we wanted her to re-create a cake from a picture that we found and that she did-the cake was beautiful. It also tasted wonderful. Sometimes you see a wedding cake that looks terrific, but doesn't taste as good. Penny's cakes are both appealing to the eye as well as the stomach.

Penny's prices were very reasonable, also. I would highly recommend her.

I was so happy with my cake and in my conversations with Penny! I had been to 3 other bakeries and I knew that I was going to choose Penny the minute I met her. She was very easy and nice to deal with and she made choosing my cake very easy. My cake was beautiful and just how I wanted it to look and it was also delicious. I couldn't have better words to say about Custom Wedding Cakes by Penny. Not only did she create my dream wedding cake, but it tasted fabulous. We had a "suitcase" wedding cake that a lot of vendors could not create for us. Penny was willing to attempt an untraditional wedding cake, and she did a fantastic job. The cake looked exactly how we wanted it. We chose 3 flavors for the 3 tiers, and everyone was raving about how it was the best tasting cake they'd ever had. It truly was, the cake was super moist, the frosting fantastic. I am so happy that we chose Penny to do our wedding cake!

Wedding Cake Success

My mother, husband and I met with Penny at her home to discuss what we wanted for the wedding cake and for a tasting. Penny was easy to work with and the cake tasted great! We did notice on the day of the wedding the cake was a bit tilted but someone could have bumped it by mistake, things happen. Overall I would work with Penny again, for sure!

Penny does an amazing job with her wedding cakes. We had a sugar paste flower cascade down our wedding cake, and at a price half that of competitors. The cakes are also delicious to the tongue, not just beautiful to the eye. Penny's talent by far exceeds her price tag, and I recommend you book quick;y before other people come to this realization.

Penny's cake was gorgeous that she made for my wedding and very reasonably priced compared to those we shopped before. The cake arrived on time and it was just beautiful. We did a non-traditional filling with a banana cream and it was superb. We got many comments from the guests on the banana and how it was really different but extremely light and had exceptional flavor. I would recommend Penny to anyone getting married, had a great experience.

Penny did a wonderful job with our wedding cake! She was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in the planning process, and offered several samples of the different cake flavors available.

The cake was gorgeous on our big day! We were so happy with the finished product! It looked even better than we could have imagined. Not only were we thrilled with the appearance of the cake, but it tasted great too! We can't wait to eat the top layer on our first year anniversary! We highly recommend Custom Wedding Cakes by Penny!

Penny was wonderful to work! Our cake was amazing and tasted great. We asked her for different flavor combination and what she thought would taste best so she gave her professional opinion and was extremely helpful throughout the entire process. We even had a change in venue and she was very flexible and worked with us to help make sure our cake was still there in time! Penny also purchased cake stands for her brides who had square cakes that she thought would be perfect! It was wonderful to have someone think that way and think about her brides! I will be using my cake stand in the future and always think of my special day! What a wonderful experience it was to work with Penny!

Penny did an amazing job on the yellow rose sugar flowers! They were absolutely beautiful. The cake tasted delicious and Custom Wedding Cakes offers a wide variety of flavors. She even alternated flavors (chocolate peanut butter fudge and classic trio) for every other layer. Penny was professional, creative, flexible and always responded in a timely manner. It truly was a pleasure working with her!!

She made our cake for our wedding in Newport, RI and it was perfect. I planned the wedding long distance and she made it so easy to work with her via emails and phone calls. She captured what we were looking for perfectly and everyone loved it!

BUYER BEWARE!! Before the wedding Penny was wonderful. She returned my calls promptly and was very receptive to my ideas for decorating my wedding cake. It all began when my husband, my parents and I went to a food tasting at the Leicester Country Club (where we had our wedding). Penny had some cake samples available in a few different flavors. They were delicious! We especially fell in love with the raspberry cake with dark chocolate truffle filling. We canceled our already booked cake vendor and decided to go with Penny. A BIG MISTAKE!! The day of our wedding we cut into the cake and it was brown. It tasted like cake and that's about as much as I can say for it. It was completely tasteless! It looked and tasted nothing like the cake we had sampled. We understand that mistakes can happen and said we would deal with it after the wedding! My husband spoke to Penny and said that another cake must have gotten mixed up with ours (before it was frosted) because we did not get what we ordered. She was rude enough to say to him that she is not going to "sit and argue with him on the phone, that it was exactly what we ordered and we are absolutely not going to get any money back for this perceived mix-up". She was bold enough to insult our intelligence as well as all 155 guests that also could not tell the flavor of the cake, except that "it had crunchy things in it." The bottom line is this... Although you may sample an excellent cake, it does not mean that you will get anything even close to what you sample. Unfortunately the Leicester Country Club continues to recommend this cake vendor... It is quite a shame.
