She went above and beyond for our tasting, giving us so many options to choose from (all of which were delicious, it was hard to choose!), and carried that over to our wedding day. Our 3 tier naked cake was simply stunning and guests could not stop talking about how good it was. Would absolutely recommend Custom Confections! -

Carrie Castano baked the most delicious cake we've ever had for our wedding 5/31/25! It was light, flavorful, and perfectly balanced—not overly sweet. The final design was absolutely gorgeous too. I'll update this review with photos once I have them!
Carrie was also a dream to work with—friendly, responsive, and quick to communicate. On top of that, her pricing was more than reasonable. Highly recommend! -

Loved working with Carrie!
Carrie was absolutely amazing to work with! She was professional, easy to communicate with, and incredibly flexible. She helped me come with the initial design that so perfect described the Groom. I had a last-minute request to add my dog to the design of the cake, and she not only accommodated it but did so beautifully. The attention to detail was incredible, and the cake was as delicious as it was stunning. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Highly recommend her for any special occasion! -

I found Carrie when searching up local cake bakers/bake shops in the Hilton Head area for my 20 year wedding vow renewal celebration we had in October. Carrie was SO wonderful and easy to work with, helping us to select the perfect cake. She was so accommodating with every request and even delivered our cake to the venue. From the start, Carrie was organized, professional, prompt, and fun! We met for a cake tasting with Carrie and even brought our parents along. Carrie showed us all the cake design options, shared tips on low country weddings, and gave us the opportunity to try the delicious cake flavors! We all had a great time and loved getting to know Carrie.
I shared inspiration photos of my dream wedding cake and mini cupcakes and Carrie brought it to life. The guests raved it was literally the best wedding cake they have ever had. Thank you so much, Carrie! -

Carrie is the best!
Carrie created our wedding cake and grooms cake, and we were thrilled with the results. She worked with us to do multiple different flavors in our wedding cake, all of which were a hit. She also worked with us to make my grooms cake dreams come to life, and my husband was so happy. Our cakes were complimented the entire night, with many people having multiple slices because they liked it so much. Thank you Carrie! -

Carrie made the most beautiful and delicious wedding cake and mini desserts for our wedding in Bluffton. We found Carrie through our wedding planner who highly suggested her and has worked with her many times. We wanted mini desserts for our wedding for guests and Carrie kindly provided them as a complimentary tasting for us before hand as well. Her mini banana puddings, mini key lime pies, mini tres leches, mini chocolate mousse cake and mini strawberry shortcake were SO delicious honestly probably the best we have ever had and it was so perfect to have such a great variety Our guests raved about the desserts and the presentation by Carrie was beautiful. She also made a small cake for us so we could have an intimate cake cutting of just us and our families. I cannot recommend Carrie enough for a wedding or any special event. We already decided we will be ordering the mini desserts for holidays bc we cannot stop thinking about them! -

Cake was way better than expected
I just wanted to say that the cake was beautiful! Exactly what I wanted, and the starfish were way beyond what I could imagine. They looked like porcelain. Delivered on time to the restaurant and the staff kept complimenting the cake. Highly recommended! -

Carrie was so lovely to work with. We went into our tasting with her with a vague (and somewhat different) idea of what we wanted for our cake but no idea on flavors. She took us through all of the different options and helped us to settle on 3 different combos of cake / icing / fillings so we could have all of the different parts we loved. She gave us confidence our design idea would be possible and look great, and in the end it turned out exactly how we'd imagined it. She was great to work with and made the process easy and fun. Working with Carrie at Custom Confections was surely one of the sweetest things about our wedding! We went all out on desserts and every single item was a delicacy. Our spread consisted of cupcakes, cookies, oreo balls, brownies and even a custom cake for my husband at the rehearsal dinner! My husband and I are still talking about her snickerdoodle cookies and the guests loved the customized cookies we created for wedding favors. Carrie is a dream to work with and she has mastered the art of baking! -

Carrie is amazing! My daughter Emily was married on October 23rd and Carrie was our baker of choice. When we met with Carrie for our tasting, we were so impressed with everything she made for us that it was incredibly hard to narrow down our choices. In addition, she is as sweet as the confections she creates. She is easy going and friendly – delightful to work with. Not only did everything taste delicious, but her displays are amazing. Planning our wedding from out of town, we booked Custom Confections for our wedding cake based only on online reviews. When we visited Hilton Head a few months before our wedding for a cake tasting we were absolutely blown away!! It is hands down the best cake I've ever had. Carrie did a beautiful wedding cake for us and helped me surprise my husband with an R2D2 cake that turned out absolutely amazing! We are SO happy we found Custom Confections for our wedding and would use them over and over again if we could! -

Highly recommend Custom Confections. My husband and I got married in May and hired Customer Confections for our wedding. We met with Carrie back in January to taste test and go over the cake design. She was amazing from start to finish! Carrie listened to our ideas and was very accommodating. She designed a beautiful and delicious two-tier square cake with a purple ombre icing design for us. It was the perfect size for our small intimate wedding. We also ordered a few dozen mini cupcakes for additional flavor options. It was all so perfect! Our guests raved about Carrie’s work. We are so glad we found Custom Confections and seriously recommend for others to hire for their big day. -

Carrie’s mini cupcakes were a hit with everyone! My only regret was not ordering more!! My guests raved about her cake for weeks :) Her cake holds the perfect amount of sweetness and they don’t leave a sugar aftertaste or film that some cakes do! She was such a pleasure to work with and her cake was so good that we couldn’t decide on just one. I recommend doing mini cupcakes of varying flavors because it was THE BOMB! -

Best Cakes Ever!
Carrie at Custom Confections did a marvelous job on our wedding cake and groom's cake. We asked for a 3-tiered watercolor design that turned out even more beautiful than we could've imagined. She also made a surprise groom's cake that was an Ibanez electric guitar. A few people thought it was an actual guitar! The detail was incredible!! I loved these cakes so much and just stare at photos of them because they were so pretty. Also, they were delicious! We had four different flavors with scrumptious fillings. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Plus, we got lots of compliments on how good they looked and tasted! Carrie is also a true professional. She's super responsive, kind, and thoughtful with her craft. We loved working with her and would ask her to do another cake in a heartbeat. She also let us use her gorgeous cake stand to add even more beauty to the presentation. Thank you so much, Carrie!! You made our day truly special--and sweet! -

Our Officiant, Betsy Peterson provided us with a list of recommendations and Carrie Castano's name was first on the list. Initially, before the pandemic she was booked, but we had to push our wedding back by a year and we were able to hire her. The cake was everything Betsy said it would be. It was money well spent and turned out beautiful. -

Carrie was absolutely amazing! We planned our wedding on HHI 11.5 hours away and were coming in for a short trip for a menu tasting. We hadn't booked our cake yet and our wedding planner contacted Carrie to see if we could do a cake tasting on short notice. Even though she was heading out of town, she allowed us to pick up samples at her house afterhours. She went above and beyond to accommodate us. In addition to our wedding cake, Carrie made truffles and buckeyes. Being from Ohio, we know our buckeyes. These were the most AMAZING buckeyes we've ever had. Onto the cake, guests will not stop raving about it. We chose red velvet with cream cheese frosting. It was so moist and the cream cheese frosting was to die for. Lastly, it was the most beautiful cake we've ever seen. We didn't want to cut into it because it was such a showstopper. All in all we would recommend Carrie to EVERYONE and our so happy she was part of our special day. -

Carrie is wonderful to work with from the cake tasting to the final art that is your dessert!! We ended up going with a three tier cake that she recreated the lace from my dress on the top and bottom pieces (so stunning). We also had three different kinds of cupcakes, then Christmas themed wedding cookies. She made everything gluten free for me, which is so meaningful and special I can't begin to thank her enough. We highly recommend her if you want the best tasting desserts at your wedding!! -

From the start Carrie was professional and easy to work with. My husband and myself really loved that she could incorporate hidden dogs into the cake and that was a must for us dog parents of 2. We also both have drastically different tastes in dessert so it was awesome that our guests could both have the almond raspberry cake I wanted and chocolate oreo cake my husband loved. All of our guests loved how cute and delicious the cakes turned out. We were especially grateful Carrie was able to accommodate changes in our cake size due to downsizing due to COVID. Looking for the best Wedding Cake Ever? Carrie at Custom Confections is the first and only place you need to go. Our wedding was a destination wedding on Hilton Head Island with no prior travel arrangements to meet and finalize details with our vendors. That meant no taste tasting for us unfortunately.. Carrie from day one was easy to work with and catered to all our needs. She was always available for answering any questions we might have had while finalize our cake ideas.. We told Carrie that we were going to be on Hilton Head the week prior and she said stop by the Bakery and was actually able to accommodate our Wedding Cake Taste Testing Samples. Kudos Carrie!
Our wedding Cake was a Beach themed 3 Tiered Chocolate and Oreo Buttercream & Vanilla with Raspberry Compote Cake. It WAS DELICIOUS! Everyone at our Wedding said it was one of the best cakes they have every had! It looked stunning! It was exactly everything that we had in mind!
I would highly recommend Custom Confections and moving forward I think every year we will just have to stop in and grab a small cake.. Thank you so much Carrie! -

I hired Carrie for my wedding cake and cupcakes. I was told to go with others who were better, but I went with Carrie, first and foremost for the most delicious Cake I’d ever had. She was also (and equally as important as a stressed out bride) extremely accommodating, responsive, and empathetic. Covid-19 proved this - being a truly heart wrenching time for both small businesses dependent on this revenue and couples facing the most insane times of our lives. And while most vendors threatened lost deposits - Carrie was utterly empathetic. I deeply understand small businesses who rely heavily on this income, and we should all work together through these unprecedented times. But it takes extra work to be Empathetic. I’d recommend Carrie to anyone, not just for her humanity, but for her cakes because they are the best you’ll find in Bluffton and Hilton Head. -

Wow! That's all I can say about Carrie and her cakes. She created the wedding cake of my dreams and a groom's cake of my husband's favorite foods that everybody couldn't stop talking about and taking pictures of - not to mention that all three flavors of cake she baked were DELICIOUS! She also made my vision of edible favors a complete success by making black and white cookies with our initials on them for each guest to take home. Overall, she was incredibly responsive to all my questions and requests, like allowing me to supply personalized bags for the favors, which she put the cookies in herself. I could not be happier with her work and choosing her as a vendor. I already cannot wait to eat our top tier of the wedding cake on our first anniversary and will have to contact her for future orders if I'm ever back in town! -

What an amazing experience working with Carrie! Her cupcakes and cake are stunning! For our rehearsal dinner we had her make mini cupcakes (4 flavors) enough for the 84 guests plus 50 extra. There were none left, our guests devoured them. I had to tell those looking for seconds (and thirds...) they would have her cake at the wedding the next night. Everyone loved them to say the least. She created a custom flavor for us Sangria cake with wine butter cream as we were having a sangria bar. It was delicious!
For the wedding she helped bring all my thoughts together and make them into a cohesive and unique look for our cake. It not only looked incredible but tasted fantastic. She even did a Blue Velvet cake for us to go with our wedding colors. The "Custom" in Carrie's company name is for real! It was a joy to work with Carrie and her cake / cupcakes were divine! Highly recommend! -

We absolutely loved the small pineapple upside down cake Carrie put together for our oceanfront vows renewal in Hilton Head Island last September. We had to coordinate everything long distance and her willingness to help and accommodate our request was impressive. And deliciousness doesn’t even begin to describe how good our cake was! On top of being just drop dead gorgeously decorated. I’d highly recommend Carrie’s gifted hand for baking for any type of event! Carrie was wonderful to work with from the start. She is so sweet and bubbly. She was patient while we made decisions and gave great ideas when we needed help! Carrie was always quick to respond and follow through.
Now, to the dessert. We had a welcome party the night before our wedding in which Carrie made a mix of desserts: mini cake cups, truffles, and mini pies, all of which were delicious! Our favors were a mix of mini cupcakes flavors, again, all fantastic. And the cake...oh my!!! Not only was it stunning and more than I could have dreamt of, it was one of the highlights of the night. Our guests raved about how delicious the cake was. Many stated they never eat the cake at weddings and the icing is always too sweet, but not this one. The icing was to die for! We ended up eating our top tier because everyone said it was so good and they were right! We plan to have Carrie recreate a mini cake for our anniversary. :)
