Vc Sent on 07/22/2015I have nothing but good things to say about our DJ and his company, Crystal Sound. His music selection was perfect! He had every single song my guests requested, and he was pretty good at reading the guests. He kept us dancing nonstop all night long (which is not easy to achieve with our family!). They were also very accommodating with our requested grand entrance and 1st dance songs, as well as the reception music. We would gladly recommend Crystal Sound to anyone in Winnipeg!! -

A & Sent on 09/21/2010Love Crystal Sound! I have nothing but great things to say about them. Fantastic communication, service and music. There were unavoidable delays during our reception and the dj was so accommodating and made sure the party was still going for the rest of the guests. They may be on the higher priced ends but they are well worth it, they actually show up unlike other dj companies in Winnipeg. BOOK THEM! -

Krista Sent on 08/14/2012I thought they did great, the dance floor was hopping all night. My only issue was that the DJ didn't ask for proper pronunciation of names before he announced the bridal party and several names were mispronounced. He was very good with requests as well, and I think all my guests had a great time. -

Jane Sent on 11/05/2015The music was great and the DJ did a fantastic job of playing the type of music we requested as well as reading the crowd. Our guests were all happy with the music and were up dancing most of the night. The only negative was there seemed to be a lack of communication between the event coordinator at Crystal Sound and the DJ. My husband had spoken on the phone with the them to see if the DJ would be comfortable introducing us and our wedding party for our grand entrance and was assured that this wouldn't be a problem. We also indicated on our music sheet that if they were unable to find a copy of our first dance song, we could provide the CD if need be. We didn't hear anything else from them and assumed all was well. Fortunately when the DJ arrived, my husband went to check in with him. Apparently no one from the company informed him that we would need to be announced, and furthermore, they told him that we would be providing a CD for our first dance. He was able to download the song (fortunately) and had no issue with doing our introductions. We were just a little annoyed at the lack of communication. -
User1198705 Sent on 06/13/2013This DJ service was horrible. My husband and I had spent a lot of time and money on dance lessons for our first dance. We made sure the DJ had our song. But when he played it, the song cut out half way through our first dance. We stood on the dance floor completely confused. Our guests were all shocked and confused as well. Obviously the DJ did not check the song first to make sure that it was complete to the end. I was devastated.

Janine Sent on 09/25/2012The service I received from the DJ at the wedding reception from Crystal Sound was AWFUL!!!!
He messed up playing my father+daughter dance song and kept trying to cut off the music when they were sounds clips mixed together for a faster- fun dance. He lied and told me he listened to the special disc we had given him for the father daughter dance song and later came up to me afterwards and told me " Sorry - when I said I listened to it, I really only listened to the first minute or so of the 13 (THIRTEEN !!!) minute song" How can you say you listened to a song when you only listened to 7% of a song. ?!?!? LIAR SO upset especially since I had to pay a videographer an extra $250 to stay 30 minutes longer just so he could capture our father/daughter dance just to have us filmed and the music to be cut off on us and me start flailing my arms to get the DJ to continue on with the song.
He called me JOLENE, my name is Janine- when I specifically phenetecally wrote it on his paper as JAW-NEEN so he'd pronounce it properly.
He denied people's music requests even when the Bride and Groom requested he play that specific song. He only showed up 10 minutes before the actual reception was going to happen- said the banquet hall manager. Thank goodness I had a "Please Play List" for him.
He mumbled into the mic. all night, you couldn't understand what he was announcing at all.
He asked me what the garter+bouquet toss songs were when they were written directly onto the sheet in front of him that he was holding when he asked me- so I just pointed to his sheet (this is while he approached me in the presentation line- while greeting all our guests)
It's a shame because I have had other friends use this service before and they said it was great- however based on this performance I would NEVER recommend Crystal Sound to anyone -

My wedding was an 'argentinean style', where we eat, but have breaks between courses and we dance.
A few months before the wedding, I sent a detailed email with everything the DJ needs to know. I even met with him Friday before the wedding to explain everything.
I gave the DJ a few songs in three different languages and asked him to mix them with the Top 40's he will play for people to dance.
I said that I would leave it to his judgment how or which songs to mix.
The experience was sooo bad. He will play one of these songs and wait until it ended and the CD alone will play the next in line.
Not only that, but when the speeches were done, he was so deep into the book he was reading that he didnt put any background music and the moment was VERY ackward.
I asked him to play Top 40's music, but the first song to dance he played was a 80's song.
There are three important things in a wedding: food, drinks and music. But music it's what makes everything flow.
The frustration I have inside is so big that sometimes it makes me cry.
He wasn't professional at all, he didn't prepare himself (as it is a kind of wedding he never did, he should at least listen to the music I gave him), he wasn't professional at all.
The worst thing is that he has a radio show in Winnipeg. So he should have a grasp as to how improvise...
It felt like he was doing another radio show instead of a wedding.
