From a responsive and adaptive planning process, fair and accessibly priced fees (we're talking only $5 corkage fees!) and delicious food, a GORGEOUS and updated event space with décor included, and sweet touches like a complimentary room on Friday and Saturday night--the staff make the reception effortless and a party that you can actually participate in.
We looked everywhere and compared every price. Nothing had the convenience, style, and price point that Courtyard offers. I don't know how they do it, but you they do it so incredibly well. I cannot recommend them enough!

Perfect vendor and location!

I grew up in Ankeny so I was looking for a venue in town. The Marriott was great to work with and very open to our wedding desires! Pricing was very reasonable too to rent out the Grand Ballroom. Definitely recommend!

December Wedding

Our wedding at the Courtyard by Marriott was a dream. Ann and Kelly and their staff were incredible to work with. The food was amazing, staff was excellent, and everyone was so accommodating. I would highly recommend this hotel for a venue!

Ann from the Courtyard by Marriott was so easy to work with! Anytime I had a question or a crazy idea, she went along and always got back to me right away about how we could make it work. The entire staff was great! All of our guests left saying how wonderful everything was and how hot and delicious the food was. Everything about the day was perfect and I'd HIGHLY recommend the Marriott to anybody in the Des Moines area when looking for a reception venue!

Wedding reception

We had a wedding reception for our daughter & son-in-law this past weekend at the Ankeny Courtyard by Marriott. We worked with Ann Bockenstedt and she was amazing. Ann helped with every part and the whole team did an outstanding job. Would recommend them for any event there.

Best Venue for a Wedding!

We instantly fell in love with Courtyard Marriott in Ankeny because of how modern the decor was.
That was just one of the few reasons why we picked CY.
Ann was our catering manager was very accommodating to our needs. She helped us through the process from timeline to sending us updates on rooms.
The weekend of our wedding went smoothly because of the wonderful staff. Everyone is so friendly and helpful whenever and wherever possible. I highly recommend having your wedding here!

LOVED IT! Would definitely recommend.

We were extremely pleased with our experience with the Courtyard. Ann was very responsive and helpful throughout the planning process and the entire staff were completely committed to making our reception run perfectly. The environment looks very nice and has recently been remodeled. The food was high quality and our guests had nothing but great things to say about it. Having the set up and clean up taken care of was awesome, and made the wedding day much less stressful. The centerpieces they provided were perfect, and the servers were great. The Courtyard was also very flexible with working with what we wanted, allowing us to bring in our own wine, and snack mix to put on the tables. We also were able to plug in our laptop to the sound system to play music for dinner and the dance via Spotify which sounded great and saved us a lot of money on a professional DJ. They seem to have a lot of experience doing what they do, and we couldn't have had a better venue to celebrate our special day. Nothing bad to say about these guys!

Very organized, easy to work with

The Courtyard by Marriott was so easy to work with! Ann was our wedding coordinator and she did a wonderful job of catering to our ideas and found ways to make them work! Everything from the planning process to packing up after the wedding was seamless because of the hotel and staff's organization

Ann made the reception portion of wedding planning very enjoyable and stress free. Everything we planned with you was accomplished without any issues.

We had many compliments on the ballroom setup, the fabulous food and the great service by the Courtyard staff. Everything was beautiful and well organized. Our guests were raving especially about the mashed potatoes and the food overall. Several of our friends said it was the best reception buffet they had ever seen.

My daughters wedding reception was held at the courtyard by Marriott on 7/14/18. We met
Anne in Nov/2017 and booked the reception. Anne was fabulous in communicating with us and creating a weekend for us that the family is still talking about. Food and staff were wonderful to work with. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone in the Ankeny area for their wedding reception.

We were so thrilled with our venue choice. The food, hotel rooms, staff, ballroom, lobby, everything was so wonderful! They were incredibly accommodating, and they offer perks to the bride and groom. They recently renovated their ballroom, and it was the perfect fit for my colors. I definitely recommend choosing them for your wedding or event!

Our experience for our son’s rehearsal dinner, wedding ceremony and reception could not have gone any better. Working with Ann and her team was a dream. The reception was one thing I never worried about during the wedding planning process. The event staff that evening, especially Kelly and Lana, made sure every guest was taken care of. At the end of the night we were able to just head to our rooms as they took care of all of the clean up as well. It was a wonderful evening and we could not have asked for a better place to hold our wedding reception!

Words cannot express how amazing the evening was. Everything went as planned and looked absolutely beautiful!
Ann at the Courtyard by Marriott has been excellent to work with. She understood what we wanted and her suggestions and expertise helped bring it all together.
The evening was outstanding. We had compliments all evening long from family and friends about the excellent food and the beauty of the reception.
Everyone’s food was cooked to perfection, served in a short period of time by excellent waiters and waitresses.
Thank you for making our daughter’s wedding a dream come true. She truly felt like Cinderella that evening.

The Courtyard By Marriott was not the first place we looked, but I'm so glad we did. They were impressive from the beginning. Ann and her staff were helpful and responsive to all of our needs. When I asked for feedback, Ann was always willing to let me know what has worked best for other couples, that made planning much easier.
The food at our reception was amazing!! We had people come up to us after dinner to comment on how wonderful it tasted! We had close to 300 guests and everyone was served in a timely manner and all the food was hot and fresh!
While there are always going to be a few small catches here or there, anytime we had an issue, it was immediately resolved in a professional manner.
I highly recommend Ann and her staff at the Courtyard by Marriott for wedding receptions!!

Ann, Alyssa, and the rest of the Courtyard staff are an amazing team! They are all so down to earth and approachable, yet extremely professional. Having worked in the hospitality industry ourselves, my husband and I had high standards and expectations for our wedding reception. The staff at Courtyard went above and beyond to work with us to make sure our day was everything we wanted and more! Ann was very quick to respond to my e-mails and was more than willing to accommodate changes as they came up including numerous floor plan changes and bringing in Exile beer. Alyssa was fantastic the night of the event and made sure everything ran smoothly. When we came up a few chair covers short, the Courtyard team was on it - going so far as to contact our rental vendor to get a few extras! They made the room available to us as early as they could. The food was amazing and we got a number of compliments about how great the staff was throughout the night. The staff impressed us even more when they took the chair covers off for us - something we anticipating having to do ourselves early Sunday morning. The whole experience was well beyond what we possibly could have hope for thanks to this amazing team! You can be sure that any event at the Courtyard will be everything you could want!

Everything at this venue was top notch. I received so many compliments from my guests and they were all blown away by the staff at the Courtyard! We didn't want for anything and working with everyone to get everything planned was such a joy! From the managers to the food service staff to the kitchen and front desk staff everyone was extremely professional and incredibly helpful and responsive! This venue really was full service and helped to make the wedding of my dreams a reality! We will surely be recommending this venue to all our friends looking for a venue in the area! The Reception couldn't have gone any better! The food was amazing and the staff was very polite and helpful. They work with you and your ideas and help make it a pleasant and beautiful experience you'll never forget. They answer your questions on a timely manner and check with you throughout the evening to make sure everything is going well. The Courtyard Marriott was a wonderful place to have my wedding reception at. Amanda was awesome at working with our needs/wants for the reception and making it perfect. The night of our reception everything flowed perfectly, all the decorations, seating, favors, food, bars, ect were all set up and looked amazing! The service from the Marriott employees working my wedding was great! I had an upset stomach and requested to have some cheese/crackers and fruit brought to me and left out during the dances and the waitress helping me didn't think twice about that and ran off to get me the food! Overall the Marriott did an amazing job at making my Husbands and my wedding reception one that we will never forget!!

We recently held our wedding reception at the Courtyard in Ankeny and could not have had a better experience. The planning process with their banquet and wedding coordinator was a breeze, and the attentive staff made the entire evening a worry-free night for us. We highly recommend this venue for other banquet-type events. The lobby is always spotless, the rooms are very nice, and the staff is extremely friendly

The Courtyard by Marriott in Ankeny did simply a fabulous job with the reception of our daughter's wedding a couple of weeks ago. Their wedding coordinator was fun to work with and responsive to my questions, the banquet room was decorated beautifully and the food was excellent. My daughter and guests were stunned when they walked into the banquet room for the first time. It was simply gorgeous. I would not hesitate to recommend this vendor!!

HOME RUN! They took care of everything. My guests were treated like royalty and I as the bride, a queen. They brought my vision to life and the best day of my life went of without a hitch. The food was phenomenal and the party was a blast! 5 star treament, deserves a 5 star review!

We could not be more pleased with Courtyard by Marriott for our outstanding wedding reception. The employees are very helpful and so pleasant to work with, they made sure everything was perfect! Amazing deal for a quality space

I would absolutely recommend Courtyard Ankeny to anyone looking for an indoor wedding venue! Our wedding reception event was set up before I even arrived for the weekend and the entire staff were welcoming and responsive. Space was more than adequate for our needs, plated meals were served to all guests in a timely manner, and all of our decorations/gifts/belongings/etc. were organized nicely for us to gather the next morning. For a quality and classic looking wedding reception, I do not believe you could get a better deal for your money than using this space/venue.

Even with a crazy Covid planning experience, Ann (and the rest of the team at the Courtyard) was incredibly flexible, friendly, understanding, and easy to work with. The venue is beautiful and so helpful! Definitely would recommend.

We only had one small minor hiccup with the food that nobody even knew about (except the bride/groom). The staff was very pleasant to work with and it was such a relief knowing they were handling things so, as the bride, I didn't have to worry about anything!!

We had a very good experience working with Ann and Kelly at the Courtyard by Marriott in Ankney, IA for our daughters wedding on Oct. 8, 2016. Ann was prompt in returning calls and emails and accommodated our wishes even if it was something they had not done before or provided at their venue. On the day of the wedding their staff was prepared to help in any way that was needed. It took such a weight off of our shoulders knowing that we could sit back and enjoy the day. And that is what we did! They had it all under control and everything went off without any glitches.
Since our group was so large they offered to provide us a private ballroom and breakfast buffet the following morning to accommodate our large group. That was such a nice gesture and also a way for us to say goodbye to all that had come. In review, I am so glad that we chose the Courtyard by Marriott for our wedding venue. Give them a call you will not be disappointed. Katy, Texas

The only change I would make is not prepaying for your meals so when you have a lot of people who do not show up, you do not waste your money on that food. I understand there really isn't any other way to do it besides to be charged for each plate actually served. The price was discounted in July and the service was amazing! Everyone said it was the best reception they had been to in a long time. Everything flowed smoothly through our timeline and no one was sitting for long waiting for the next event!

Ann assisted us in the preparations for our wedding. Her approach was helpful, but meeting her was very quick and cold. Would have appreciated her being more people oriented than just project oriented. The centerpieces for my wedding were incorrect even though I provided her with a diagram and pictures of how I wanted them set up.
