Mark made my floral dreams come true for our April wedding! I cannot recommend him enough - not only did our wedding day surpass our wildest dreams, but he made the entire planning and engagement period feel like a breeze! I was so blown away by the quality of our flowers and all of the plans that I had been dreaming about for so long! I can honestly say that I think he made our flower budget go very far. If I could hire mark and his team a million times, I would. He was lovely and timely in all of his responses, thorough in his work, and the final product on wedding day blew me away!

Awesome Experience!

Florist extraodindare!!
We used Mark and his team as our florist for our wedding on October 1st at Natural Bridge, Virginia. Since we live in North Carolina, we had to coordinate everything remotely. We met with Mark only once and ironed out all the details. We spoke by phone and emailed back and forth several times just to be sure all the details were tied up. Mark was incredibly accommodating with last minute changes and even offered to pick up a vegan dessert for my son and his wife to bring to the reception venue since the bakery was right across the street from his shop. That saved me a trip into Roanoke and the stress of having to worry about it! His work far exceeded my expectations! My bouquet was absolutely stunning and the table arrangements were just as beautiful. Not only is he an artist, but he's a wonderful human being and I'm so thankful he was available. I would highly recommend him for any of your floral needs.

The most amazing service and product!
The moment I spoke with Mark on the phone, I knew I wanted to work with him. He is the sweetest person with the most positive attitude! I changed my quote so many times and he was so easy going about it the entire process. Our florals turned out BEAUTIFUL. One of my absolute favorites parts of the wedding were how amazing everything turned out. Mark was so easy to work with and so unbelievably humble. I don't live in the area but if I did I'd probably start a monthly subscription of getting florals from Mark! Definitely recommend him for any floral needs!

We absolutely loved working with Mark. From our first video call we knew right away we wanted him to do our florals. He was personable and upbeat with every interaction. Hire creative occasions now!
I was a COVID bride. My original date was 5/30/20 and I had to make a last minute decision is March to postpone. Mark at Creative Occasions was nothing short of amazing and was so helpful through everything. I didn’t even have a vision when I met with him but he built the most beautiful floral pieces for me with all my scattered ideas. He was even able to accommodate last minute things that I decided to add with the new date. The weather was terrible for my outdoor wedding so it had to be moved indoors and he brought an arbor to hang all my altar florals on and it was BEAUTIFUL. He also made my Sheppard hooks work inside as well! He is a wonderful person and such a sweet soul. I can not imagine choosing any one else to help me fulfill my dream wedding.

I can’t say enough good things about working with Mark.
So that this review is helpful for others, I’ll frame our wedding. First off, it was in October of 2020, so it goes without saying that my husband and I were working with a LOT of uncertainty. My husband and I are Hokies located in Chicago, IL, so we were planning the whole wedding remotely and did not get to see anything until the day of. Mark went out of his way to understand our wedding vision, communicate with me, answer all my questions, and even hopped on Zoom appointments to walk through the details of each part of the wedding.
Many vendors we worked with shared their anxieties with us and drew attention away from the actual joy of the wedding to “how could you possibly be doing this right now?” Instead, Mark only shared enthusiasm and was empathetic to all the uncertainty. My matron of honor had to cancel 10 days before the wedding (covid complications), and we were changing the seating arrangements for the reception 48 hours before the wedding. Mark was able to take my matron of honor’s bouquet and turn it into additional boutonnieres and a table arrangement with very little notice. I was impressed with and so thankful for his flexibility when it felt like everything was spinning around me.
Additionally, Mark was able to take a Brooch that has been passed down to the women in my family for generations and incorporate it into my floral arrangement.
Luckily, my husband and I were blessed with a flexible budget for our wedding. When I first talked to Mark, I knew that we wanted to go with him. He was knowledgeable, friendly, and was willing to work with my requests. Therefore, I didn’t spend a lot of time comparing to other florists. So, I’m not sure how his pricing compared to others in the area. However, I believe he and his floral arrangements were worth every penny. If you are working with a budget, he is knowledgeable enough to recommend particular flowers that are in season or easier to come by to save some money. If your ceremony and reception are in different locations, he is also able to figure out the logistics to repurpose flowers from the ceremony at the reception location to save some money and resources there, too.
After the reception, he told us that he could leave behind arrangements for family members and guests. Something I did not do as effectively as I would have liked was communicated with family members that they could take these arrangements home. (Make sure you remember to do this! 😊) Some folks took them home, but others were repurposed at the reception location (Mountain Lake Lodge).
I highly recommend Mark as a wedding florist!!

He really pays attention to detail and just does a fabulous job with everything he does! He provided floral arrangements for a staircase, flowers for the cake, flowers for my bridesmaids & I, an aisle full of rose petals (amazingggg), flowers and greenery for decorations, votives, linens, and vases. Everything was perfect! We HIGHLY recommend Mark and his staff for your special day! He's a must have!

I cannot say enough about Mark and Creative Occasions. The work was beyond my expectations. The arrangements and bouquets were exquisite. Every guest at the wedding commented on how beautiful they were. We had a vision in mind and explained what we wanted and Mark and his staff executed and delivered and we were not disappointed. I would definitely recommend him to others. The only regret I have is that his shop is not close to my hometown. If so, he would definitely be the only one I would do business with in the future. I was that impressed.

Mark did my flowers for my wedding this past June, and we seriously couldn’t have asked for a better florist! He was recommended to us by our venue, and he was just as amazing as they said. He is incredibly personable, accommodating, and reassuring. I don’t know much about flowers, so I just gave him a vague idea of what I liked and let him run with it, and I couldn’t have been more pleased! Every single detail was perfect, and it was so nice to know that he had every detail handled. As I’ve told a few other couples – yes, he’s a bit more expensive than some other options, but he is SO worth it! You are paying for his incredible expertise and his years of experience. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone and everyone! In fact, my family members have already ordered various other arrangements from him!

Mark and his team were a dream to work with. I was an out of town bride, and Mark was able to make time to meet with my fiance and me when we walked into his shop, about five months before the wedding. He listened to our vision, provided suggestions on how to keep costs down, and was responsive to every email and phone call I left. Mark is such a wonderful person, every time we spoke he was excited and happy and genuinely engaged.
We decorated our wedding with floral arrangements on the wedding arbor, flowers down the aisle, and used collections of beer/wine/whiskey bottles as vases for our centerpieces. We used mostly white roses and greenery, which complimented the scenery of the blue ridge mountains outside of the venue. The bouquets were gorgeous, and Mark was able to tuck in some rosemary and hops into my bridal bouquet and my now husband's boutonniere at our request :) Mark was easy to work with, flexible, and turned our crazy ideas into a reality. Thank you Creative Occasions!

Mark Frye transformed the Taubman Museum into a Winter Wonderland for my daughter's wedding...first in the Atrium for the ceremony....then in the theater for cocktails...and finally back in the atrium for the dinner/reception. Oh my gosh! I don't think I could possibly put into words how absolutely wonderful the flowers provided by Mark and his team were. From the very beginning we got a very comfortable feeling working with Mark as we began to plan out colors, themes, and decorations. During our initial meeting with Mark we expressed the colors we wanted and some of our favorite flower types, and he took it from there. He spent a lot of time getting to know us and determining exactly what kind of wedding we wanted. Mark took the time to find out what atmosphere and overall feeling we wanted for ourselves and our guests.
Mark was able to take the descriptions we gave him and put that into some of the most beautiful floral arrangements, linens, and decorations. If you are looking for a florist who will provide you a full range of services and give you and experience instead of just flowers the crew at Creative Occasions is who you need to call!

If I could give Mark Frye 10 stars on here I would!! He was so easy to work with and saw my vision and what I wanted for the wedding day. The flower arrangements, the aisle decor, arbor decor, pedals down the aisle, boutonnieres, and bouquets MADE MY WEDDING DAY at Sundara. Not to mention Mark completely surprised me with having my favorite type of flower (peonies) incorporated in my flower bouquet. I was in COMPLETE shock with that!!! The table arrangements with the votives were breathtaking. I keep looking back on pictures of all the beautiful flowers and the flowers created my "antique" vision I wanted. MARK FRYE is the BEST in ROANOKE by far!!! He made my wedding day. Everything was so SO beautiful, I could go on, and on about the incredible work he did!!!!

He was also responsible for the fresh flowers on the cake. He worked well with the other vendors to get everything set up and beautiful ahead of time. And to be honest, when we had gone a little over on our budget, he made adjustments that worked wonderfully. He also provided the linens for the reception. There are honestly no words to describe how PERFECT Mark Frye and his staff are! Mark worked with me to adjust my florist costs from his first proposal so that I could stay within my budget. He was also supportive when a few months prior to the wedding we had to shift the location of the ceremony. He worked closely with the other vendors to create a ceremony space that was beyond anything I could have ever imagined. He cut down "real" trees and incorporated them into the ceremony space! He said he would do "as much or as little as we needed him to do." Mark is so easy to work with and accommodating. He has exceptional ideas and executes them flawlessly....and makes the experience fun! The flowers were absolutely beautiful; he provides linens and a variety of unique decor. His team's set-up and take down went seamlessly. Mark and everyone at Creative Occasions was so helpful throughout the process. I went to our first meeting with very little ideas of my own, and he was able to walk me through the process. Our flowers turned out absolutely beautifully, and they were delivered right to the venue, each flower in the right place at the right time.

Mark was very easy to work with. He gave us wonderful and unique ideas but was very understanding and worked well within the confines of our budget. We have used him for several different events and he has met and exceeded our expectations every time.

Mark was great to work with for my daughters recent wedding! He helped us narrow down our color choices which we used not only in the flowers, but also the linens. I had seen his flowers at several events & parties & was always impressed. He is very talented & creative. Our guests said they were the "loveliest flowers they had ever seen at a wedding"! That pretty much sums it up.

We used Mark Frye for our wedding and reception flowers. I gave him a few ideas of what I wanted and he made the most beautiful bouquets and arrangements that I could have ever imagined. I was blown away by what he chose for me. He was very flexible and great to work with. People are still talking about our wedding flowers. We would definitely recommend him for flowers for a wedding or other event.

We first met with Mark in July for my daughters May wedding. His enthusiasm and creativity was evident during that first meeting. He asked my daughter what she envisioned for her wedding and he captured it perfectly! Every little detail was included from the boutonnières and bouquets to the reception . Guests audibly gasped when they entered the reception area and saw the magic that Mark created. He is so talented and such fun to work with! I look forward to working with him again for any floral need. If you are looking for a florist, Mark is the man!

We chose to have a small ceremony at the Vinton War Memorial. We met with Mark/Creative Occassions to discuss what we wanted. I never had to worry about a single thing from that meeting. It was the easy, stress free, BEAUTIFUL wedding I wanted. Mark did a fantastic job duplicating the ideas we shared. I am forever grateful that we found him.

Mark and his team took small ideas that I had in my head and on a Pintrest board and turned them into a beautiful wedding that I could have never imagined. Two months after our wedding I am still getting compliments on the flowers at the wedding and the reception! He put his own special touch on things while still letting our personalities shine through! He was amazing to work with!

Our experience in working with Mark Frye was wonderful from start to finish. His first question to us, the bride and the mother of the bride, was, "What is your vision?" With my daughter's ideas in mind, he made helpful suggestions that we loved. Throughout the process, he was considerate, patient, timely with his responses, totally professional and an absolute pleasure to work with. The flowers for the wedding were amazing! Our guests are still complimenting the gorgeous, classic, and elegant church arrangements, the bride's bouquet, and the bridesmaids' bouquets. The flowers at the reception were stunning!
We have seen his work at other events and his creativity really sets him apart from any other florist I have ever worked with. I highly recommend him without reservation!

Mark owner of Creative Occasions has been a family friend for years. Our family has used his services for every occasion throughout the years. He is so easy to talk to and has the most creative ideas! Saturday, September 9th, he put together the flowers for my daughter’s wedding at Bernard’s Landing and they were beautiful! Despite 2 storms that ran through before the outdoor ceremony and reception, everything looked wonderful. We just loved what he did with the table decorations and each of the bouquets. My daughter wanted simply but elegant and that is exactly what Mark gave her. I highly recommend Creative Occasions for any occasion you may need flowers.

Mark is by far the best florist in the Roanoke area! He took my "mental" pictures and made them into reality. I had so many compliments on the flowers and decor. He is willing to work with any budget, and will take that budget and create the most beautiful arrangements! I would recommend Mark to anyone in the need of flowers for any occasion!

My husband and I were having a Convalidation Ceremony (Renewal of Vows in Catholic Church). When I first met Mark, I know my vision would be executed beautifully. Wow! it was everything and more. The quality and selection of flowers was exquisite. I provided the containers because I was going with a Vintage feel. By letting Mark and his team take my idea and "go with it" was the best decision. I won't go anywhere else for flowers. The professionalism and courteousness exceeded my standards. Mark the owner was so great to work with! He has the best personality and it so easy to talk with about ideas. I felt confident talking with him about flower options because his experience and knowledge definitely shows when he discusses things with you! He was able to work with us on everything from getting the specific flowers we wanted and knocking some things down in price to make them for our price!

Highly recommend Creative Occasions for any event or situation that you may need a flower or two....
