There are not enough superlatives to say how pleased my husband and I were with Steve Munday and his staff at Creative Cuisines. Previous experience for a smaller party, made it a no brainer to choose them as our wedding vendor. From menu planning, to tasting, to reception and all the meetings in between, every detail was taken care of and handled professionally. As we expected, the quality and flavor of the food was outstanding. We received many compliments from our guests. As an added bonus Creative Cuisines recommended other highly qualified vendors (tents, tables, DJs) and worked seamlessly with them. We consider them the best of the best and would not hestitate to call on them for our next event or recommend them to others.

I cannot sing the praises of Creative Cuisines enough! Steve and his team are the utmost of professionals from our first meeting to the end of our reception. Steve has been there for me and my fiancé any time we need his help, no matter how big or how small. His caring demeanor makes all the difference in the world. He is very detail oriented and goes to every length to ensure that you are getting the best possible service. Steve even assisted in coordinating the rentals for the reception for us. My family and I were so excited at our tasting with them because the food was so delicious! It was a no-brainer for us to book them. Our reception was absolute perfection. The food was excellent, the service was superb and it all culminated to create the BEST reception, I have ever attended and it was everything I hoped for. I only stumbled upon Creative Cuisines here on Wedding Wire website and I am SO glad I did. I could not have envisioned my wedding day without them. A million thanks to Steve and his staff!

Hi, Chef Steve! We were very happy to have Creative Cuisines as our caterer! The food was delicious!

My only complaint is one of the bartenders at the wedding (an older African American woman). I've heard from MANY guests that they were cut off despite not being intoxicated. She was rather heavy-handed at first and then started cutting everyone off. Not something I was happy to hear about from my guests.
I'm fully aware bartenders use their own judgment when serving alcohol but there were several guests who had a drink or two (including my uncle who does not have more than one glass of wine ever and yet he was denied a glass of wine). She seemed to be dictating who was allowed alcohol based on no actual reasoning. I just wanted you to know.

Don't make any assumptions about your menu ahead of time. Chef Steve can accommodate any special requests and even offer ideas for menus that will add a unique spin to your meal. We're based in DC and had to communicate with Chef Steve long distance, but throughout the process of tastings and selecting decor, his insight, professionalism and culinary skill put us at ease. Our only wish is that we had another event in Williamsburg that would necessitate us consulting with him again.

We hired Creative Cuisines to cater our June 3rd, 2017 wedding at the William and Mary Alumni House and we couldn't be happier with our choice. Not only did Chef Steve and his team create a delicious, personalized menu that guests rave about to this day (six months after the event), but Chef Steve handled so many of the logistics necessary for planning such a large event. He created a map of how the tables should be set up, coordinated the rentals for the event, and was willing to work with us to have local beers available for the event. Chef Steve and his team went above and beyond--you will not regret booking him for your day!

This vendor was great with which to work. We collaborated on the menu after suggestions were made. Our guest were amazed at the appetizers, dinner entrees, and dessert bar. We looked for caterers in the Williamsburg area and met with a few that were approved for use at the Williamsburg Winery. When we met with Chef Steve we felt that he had a passion to help us plan the dinner for our wedding. The planning and the tasting led to some minor changes, but the day of the ceremony went well. The food was great and the guests loved it. I have no reservations with recommending Creative Cuisines as a caterer for any wedding or reception.

I first met Chef Steve when he catered a friend's wedding, and knew then that he would be the person for my next catered event - both the food and presentation were awesome! Chef Steve has perfected the planning process by first meeting with the clients to understand their needs and desires for the event, helping develop the menu, and finishing it off with a food tasting and wine pairing - which is quite an event unto itself. Of course there were several meetings and conversations, and Chef Steve was patient with the various questions and changes and continued to provide excellent options for both the appetizers and the dinner. He has a wealth of experience and knowledge, and is more than willing to find new dishes to meet special needs. From the quality of ingredients, to the preparation, to the presentation, Chef Steve's cuisine was the best! Chef Steve and his staff are professional and friendly, and focus on helping to make a truly memorable event. So many of our wedding guests still rave about the incredible food and the signature drink he suggested - an awesome bourbon slush! Before making any other decisions on a caterer, I would highly recommend meeting with Chef Steve - he's the best!

Our guests are still raving about how wonderful the food was at our wedding! We asked Chef Steve to do a 'Virginia' theme, and it all came together wonderfully. He was even able to seamlessly accommodate our Vegan best man and his fiance. Chef Steve was also very flexible and accommodating when it came to scheduling considering our wedding was during the holiday season. We hired Creative Cuisines to cater our wedding at the Williamsburg Winery on 10/1/2016 and were so happy with our choice. Planning the menu with Chef Steve was so easy. He wanted to know about our tastes and likes and helped to design a menu that not only reflected us but was a big crowd pleaser.

We only received great reviews from our guests and were happy to hear that our food was the best food people have had at a wedding. We had a few guests with special dietary needs (celiac and vegetarian) and Chef Steve was completely flexible to help provide them with the same high quality meals that our other guests received.

The entire Creative Cuisines staff have clearly been doing this for a long time and were the definition of professional on the day of our wedding. We would recommend them to anyone!

We are so happy that we chose Creative Cuisines to cater our wedding. They did an absolutely amazing job. Chef Steve is incredible and the food was wonderful! We had several guests say it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding. And some are still telling us how much they enjoyed it. We went with a buffet and the food remained hot and delicious throughout. The staff was very friendly and attentive as well!

We started our planning early so figuring out everything from the menu to renting the linens and place setting was a breeze.

When I was choosing a wedding date, the availability of Chef Steve was a deciding factor for the exact date. No other caterer can match his talents. Communication was imperative, and he promptly answered emails, and phone calls. We met several times to create the menu, design the table arrangement at the venue, and enjoy a sample tasting of the menu. The entire process went smoothly, and I would eagerly recommend him.

When we started working with Steve Munday of Creative Cuisines last winter, he seemed too good to be true. He responded to emails with thorough, thoughtful answers. He worked with our schedule (we live in Seattle and he's in VA), often talking with me in the evenings or on the weekends. When we traveled to Williamsburg in June for wedding planning purposes, he met us at our venue, walked us through the various rooms and explained options for how each could be used, and coordinated a visit to Williamsburg Events Rentals where he stayed with us as we looked at plates, linens, and flatware.

With respect to menu planning, Steve was collaborative and incorporated our ideas, like featuring Washington wines. He designed a tremendous menu that was within our budget, and when we looked to be off budget because we wanted a pricier beverage service, he provided options for how to cut costs.

As the wedding neared, Steve helped with the logistics, allowing us to drop off flowers and other items at his site the day before the wedding. (There was a wedding at the Alumni House the day before our wedding, so we couldn't store things there.)

The day of our wedding, Steve and his staff exceeded our expectations. All guests talked about the food, with most talking about selections that my husband and I had chosen months ago but didn't get to eat the day of. We knew the food would be exquisite, but the service was even better. Steve personally attended to a family member with limited mobility, bringing him food throughout the night. Patty helped us cut the cake, and other servers were so great that guests tipped them throughout the night.

Creative Cuisines was not the cheapest option we explored, but it is the best value. We more or less got catering, event rentals facilitated by Steve, and day-of-coordination services with Creative Cuisines. Truly, we could not have asked for a better caterer for our October 11, 2015 wedding!

Steve and his team at Creative Cuisines were EXCELLENT. Prior to the wedding Steve customized a menu based around food that my wife and I told him we'd like to have at our ideal wedding. He created a very impressive menu incorporating what we requested and all the dishes were so delicious! Steve went above and beyond to not only coordinate the food, but also help to design the floor plan for the day of and coordinated the set up of the chairs etc. He has a very laid back attitude which helped keep us at ease while designing the menu and day of logistics.

We asked for there to be Chicago style hot dogs as the late night snack for our wedding and Steve did all the research to even find out the specific manufacturer of hot dogs that are used in Chicago so he could have an authentic late night snack! We were very impressed.

Often, food doesn't translate well when brought to large scale catering, but they did an outstanding job of blowing our expectations out of the water. EVERYONE was raving about the food. On top of that, their staff was so friendly, attentive and generally fun to have around at the wedding. Couldn't have asked for better caterer to make our wedding that much more specials. If you need a vendor for your wedding catering - you've just found them.

Steve Munday was one of the best choices we made for our wedding. The menu was incredible and my family is still raving about it weeks later. I booked Creative Cuisines in the Fall for a Summer wedding. I'm not sure how quickly their schedule fills, but if you're thinking about using them, I wouldn't hesitate to get in touch and at least get penciled in. Steve gets really busy during wedding season, and for good reason!

About two months before the wedding, my (now) husband and I took about 90 minutes and talked through the chef stations and cocktail hour with Steve. He has great sample menus to draw ideas from and he's open to trying things like family recipes or other special dishes. He was also really mindful of our budget and transparent about pricing. I thought the pricing was more than fair for the quality of food, the variety, and the phenomenal service.

I planned this wedding from 1000 miles away. In fact, it had been decades since either my husband or I had attended a wedding, so we really felt clueless. Steve made planning so much easier. He's very responsive to emails and calls. Steve got the rental company to send me photos of the tablecloths so I could approve them from afar, and they ended up looking perfect. He made a seating layout for us and was really flexible when I wanted to change it. I also need to give a shoutout to Patty, who makes everything run smoothly and on time.

Creative Cuisines is a great company, and I can't thank them enough for just the amount of care and detail they put into the wedding.

Chef Steve at Creative Cuisine in Williamsburg did an outstanding job on our wedding! He took care of every detail. The display of hors devours was phenomenal. And the lamb chops were to die for! They were all the rave of the cocktail hour. A friend who attended our wedding, has since become a lamb lover after never having it before! Chef Steve is personable and talented. The dinner service for 120 plated dinners ran smoothly and the food was served hot. My husband and I had a wonderful experience working with Chef Steve Munday, owner of Creative Cuisines, when planning our son's rehearsal dinner in Williamsburg, VA. He came highly recommended by our wedding planner and in the reviews we read. We secured Chef Steve's services early in the planning process as we were aware that he would book quickly. Due to our schedule and the fact that we live in Northern Virginia we didn't actually meet Chef Steve in person until the evening of the rehearsal dinner. This said he did an amazing job walking us through all the steps necessary to plan the evening through phone conversations and email. In our early conversations he did a excellent job getting an idea of what we wanted for the evening and gave us suggestions as how to best get our desired outcome. Chef Steve helped us to plan a traditional rehearsal dinner for approximately 80 guests to include a full bar, passed Hors d'oeuvres, salad, plated dinner, a custom made dessert and boxed truffles for each guests. On June 5, 2015 we arrived at the William and Mary Alumni House venue and met Chef Steve and his great staff. As with all previous contacts he was gracious, professional, and left us at ease to simply enjoy the evening as nothing other than guests. Every aspect of the evening to include the food and service was perfect. We couldn't have asked for a better overall experience and we continue to receive compliments from the guests in attendance. We would definitely use Chef Steve again.

Unparalleled food! Chef Steve prepared a wedding buffet for our 100 guests which was delicious, beautifully presented, and locally sourced. Not to be missed are the Buttermilk Biscuits with Edwards' Surry Ham, the Crispy Sweet Potato Pancakes topped with Chutney, the Stuffed Chicken Breast, the Carolina Shrimp & Grits, and the Corn Pudding! The food was prepared on-site so was the perfect temperature for the dish. His staff was attentive with one staff member dedicated to the Bride & Groom. Definitely go for the tasting he offers. You will see how knowledgeable he is about Virginia cuisine and how much he cares about the food he prepares.

Owner and Head Chef Steve Munday did an amazing job on my wedding. He worked really hard to make a wonderful and diverse menu at a reasonable price. My family is not the easiest to please, and both my mother and father were beyond pleased with the kindness and helpfulness that Creative Cuisines provided. Hosted an outdoor rehearsal dinner for our son and his fiancé. Initially we weren’t sure what we wanted but knew: a) we were dealing with vegetarians in addition to carnivores, and b) it needed to offer an alternative to the simultaneously planned wedding reception the next night. Calm, encouraging without the constant “up-sell’ pressure, Steve spent a LOT of time before the event talking things through and offering attainable make-it-better suggestions. Unlike some in our wedding adventure, this guy returns calls! Knowing we had polarized meat/non-meat eaters, he provided a cross selection of appetizers (incredible avocado salsa in there with lots of other choices) with the cocktail hour. He paced everything perfectly and transitioned to dinner stations with (on the right side) varied vegetarian dishes including a moussaka and rice/squash dish, fingerling potatoes and salad options and (on the left) a full up Southern Pulled Pork BBQ with delicious slaw, corn pudding, and medallioned chicken breasts stuffed with spinach/sundried tomato/ cheese that people pretty much fought over. We heard nothing but complements about the food: the variety, the way and temperature presented. I used the precious few remaining left-overs to bribe a few guys into helping me deconstruct the tents and tables later that weekend (a smart move). He KNEW how to size that crowd and have just the right amounts of everything. Most important to me, his support staff is OUTSTANDING. The crew showed up just at the time they said they would and set up the outside venue. Showtime: Patty was always where you needed her, discreetly checking with us to make sure things were just as we wanted them and moving along at our pace. Also a wonderful bar tender (thanks Janet!). Staff ensured our tables, linens, dishes, etc., were perfect. Best of all, we were able to forget about all the logistics and just enjoy the night. No surprises. No disappointments. Could not have gone better. Amazing.

A Letter Written to Chef Steve Munday – October, 2014

Dear Chef Steve,
My husband often makes fun of me because when I am excited or overjoyed I will use words in triplicate. Well, the New Orleans style menu you prepared for my son’s reception at the W&M Alumni House deserves more then one set of three.
The wedding guests ran the gamut in food preferences and experiences i.e. foodies and food novices, vegetarians, vegans, meat and potato lovers, those with food allergies and so on. My initial concern was how was the bride and groom’s vision of bringing a taste of New Orleans to Williamsburg going to accommodate the range of guest tastes. Well, Chef Steve, you did it!
There were food selections that each guest could find familiarity and comfort with and food to take a leap and be adventurous with. (Mamaw, for example, was among several guests who had never tasted catfish before and quite enjoyed it.) Everyone’s plate was filled – some more then once. What variety, how delicious, try this it is incredible are among the numerous praises you received, Chef Steve. Several comments were also given on how in some wedding menus vegetable dishes are often an after thought but not so at your table. It was voiced that they were made with care and the results were very tasty.
So, thank you, thank you, thank you Chef Steve for assisting in making our children’s reception a success.

Chef Steve did it again!! This is the second wedding that he did for my family and it was just as tasty and beautiful as the first wedding. Chef Steve and his staff are warm hearted good people with quality service. Chef Steve designed the menu to fit me and my husband. I had my wedding at a venue that needed a great deal of work and Chef Steve was with me and my family the night before the wedding helping to assure that things were in place for our big day. Me and my husband enjoyed his food after the wedding in the honeymoon suit as he had packed a container which had many of the food that we had not got a chance to eat during the reception. I highly recommend Creative Cuisines to any bride and groom. Our experience was amazing and our guest are still talking about many of the foods that he had cooked.

When I first started reading the reviews of Steve's work before hiring him, I thought it sounded too good to be true, but these reviews are not hyperbole. He and his team really are that good! I'll echo another reviewer and say that hiring creative cuisines was probably the best decision I made in wedding planning. If food matters to you, really matters, Steve is the best person you could have on your side. And he really will be on your side -- hiring him means that you have a perfectionist working behind the scenes, and if he has anything to do with it, it will be spectacular.
I and my husband are both total foodies. We cook a lot, eat out a lot, have worked in the business, and have very high standards. I was impressed at every turn. The menu Steve developed based on our favorite foods SOUNDED awesome from the get-go. After the tasting I knew we were onto something special, but still wondered if they would be able to duplicate that level of excellence for 75+ people. The answer is YES. People are still talking about the food, 2+ months later. Steve also accommodated both of my (minor) pieces of feedback from the tasting with aplomb, and it's clear that he loves to be creative in the kitchen, and to try new things. He also has some amazing standards under his belt.
Planning the wedding from a distance, Steve really listened to what I had to say, and was great at giving advice about what would work for our space. From the first conversation to the end of the wedding day, we got nothing but professionalism, kindness, and over the top service from Steve and his team.
You are not just getting an amazing chef, but essentially a wedding coordinator as well. Steve welcomed having control over lots of details: from flowers to rentals to the musician, all we had to do was connect the vendors with Steve, and we knew that things would be just right.
If you are lucky enough to be able to hire Steve, DO IT!!

I could not have been more pleased with the delightful and delectable choices Steve Chef offered at my daughter's wedding. His recommendations were superb. Both adults and children raved about the special attention he gave to the smallest of details (down to recommending Capri-Sun for the youngest children who were thrilled). From excellent hors d'oeuvres to exquisite desserts, the personal touch and care in preparation was evident. Thank you Steve for making this a most memorable event for everyone.

Steve Munday and his staff did an excellent job with our wedding. Throughout the planning process, Steve was very helpful, even with our non catering related questions. The food was excellent, full of flavor, and tailored towards our requests and family heritage. During the event, his staff executed everything perfectly and everyone was very friendly. Steve Munday and his team at Creative Cuisines made my wedding unforgettable. Not only was the food and service provided on the day of our wedding out of this world, but Steve went above and beyond to support us throughout the process, essentially taking on the role of wedding coordinator when we needed him to. Steve was incredibly helpful and flexible with us throughout our long engagement. He met with us repeatedly, answered all of our questions to the fullest, and provided help well above and beyond my expectations. His staff set up our guestbook, place cards, and favors for us. He coordinated all of the rentals for us and worked with our other vendors to make sure everything went smoothly. Everyone at the wedding commented on how good the food was - it was truly better than I dreamed it could be.

We planned our entire small Williamsburg wedding in about 10 weeks. Needless to say, we needed to quickly find exactly the right complement of vendors for things to work perfectly for our wedding day. We read the reviews on this website and saw that Steve Munday and Creative Cuisines had all 5-star reviews, so we started reading what others said about his services. It seemed that people would have given more than 5 stars in their ratings if that was available. After working with Steve, we understand why. His approach to catering our reception was very interactive and personal. He saw where we needed guidance and provided it and saw where we had clear ideas about what we wanted and smoothly incorporated those things into his overall plan. The week before our wedding, we had daily interaction as we pulled together the final plan. It put us at ease to see how confident, organized, and attentive he was. The end result was delicious, creative food presented beautifully and served by an attentive, friendly team. We highly recommend Creative Cuisines for any event!

I absolutely cannot say enough good things about Chef Steve and Creative Cuisines. I never imagined that I could have such sumptuous, beautiful, gourmet food within my budget for my wedding. After our initial consultation, during which we explained that we wanted an upscale southern buffet, Chef Steve responded with a spot-on proposal, both in terms of the palate and the price. He managed all the necessary rentals as part of his service, from cups and plates to the dance floor, which made life much easier for me. His staff provided professional-level service at the event, and took extra special care of myself and my husband. My friends and family raved about the food, and I was able to feed my visiting relatives for several nights with the carefully packed leftovers his staff prepared for me. From the first meeting to the end of the wedding Chef Steve was wonderful to work with! He helped us come up with an amazing menu for our wedding and also our rehearsal dinner - you can have whatever you could dream of! Also very quick to respond to any questions you may have. The rehearsal dinner was outstanding, the food was excellent and wonderfully displayed! The catering for the wedding was absolutely wonderful, from the apple cider served during the ceremony to the cocktails and the reception! The food was delicious, displayed wonderfully, and my guests are still talking about it almost a month later!!! Steve also did the cupcakes for my dessert and they turned out beautiful and everyone loved them! His staff is outstanding, truly great people that I had the pleasure to meet, they did a great job during both nights!! By the end of the weekend they felt like family. My girlfriend once quoted to me "planning a wedding is like a loco-motive train, it starts out slow and gradually moves faster and then there's no turning back. Then it comes to a screeching STOP at the ceremony". I respected her words more and more in the planning of my daughters wedding. After all the hard work on every ones end, Bride, Groom, all of the parents, the very BEST part of the planning goes to STEVE MUNDAY from Creative Cuisines!! He is the perfect balance of Professionalism with a Personal touch. He is sincerely interested in the bride and grooms wishes and mirroring those wishes with his creative capabilities. On my end (mother of the bride), he comforted me during my "Stressful Bliss". He offered ideas and suggestions along the way, not even pertaining to the food and I used every recommendation! Thanking God for him. Getting to the main event as far as the reception and the catering. We were ULTIMATELY pleased with everything! Our guest summed up our experience. To name a few "THE BEST FOOD I EVER HAD AT A WEDDING", THE FOOD WAS UNBELIEVABLE AND PLENTY OF IT", THE VARIETY OF FOOD WAS AMAZING", WOW, YOU CAN THROW A PARTY" !! Steve Munday and his staff are incredible! Steve was such a help to us during the entire planning period leading up to the wedding. He helped us with so many issues that we were not sure how to handle and often had a variety of options to offer in order to "individualize" our wedding experience. His staff was impeccable and curteous and patient. They took much attention to serve the Bride and Groom in order that they could circulate among the guests and not have to return to the bar or buffet table for their needs. The food was spectacular and the wines and beers paired so expertly with the entrees. Out of 125 guests, I would estimate that more than 100 of them have e-mailed or told us in person at the wedding that it was the best wedding they have ever attended and that the food and service were outstanding. Hands down, if you are looking for an excellent caterer in the Wiliamsburg area for any even large or small, Steve Munday's Creative Quisines should be your first choice!

It is a little more than a month since my daughter's wedding, and today I received a card from one of our guests describing the event as "beautiful" with "amazing" food. I first met Chef Steve while picking out linens, dishes, tables etc., and I immediately noticed his helpfulness and knowledge of the venue. He assured me I would have nothing to worry about on the day of the event, and he would take care of everything. He did not disappoint!! The food was delicious and displayed beautifully, and he and his staff could not have done more to make the evening spectacular. I can truly say that looking back I wouldn't change a thing!

Creative Cuisines is who you want catering your wedding.

Chef Steve created a fabulous and delicious menu, incorporating all of our food choices and using lots of locally-sourced foods. Going above and beyond, he even went to a craft brewery on his vacation to pick up cider he thought my husband and I would like (which we loved!) Because our wedding was also small, they were able to do our cake for us. Like the menu, the cake incorporated the flavors we wanted and Chef Steve also emailed us several pictures of cake designs we could choose from. It was perfect.

We also needed to rent tables, chairs and linens and have them set-up and taken down at our venue. Chef Steve worked with the rental company, and accompanied my mother and I to the meeting where we picked out what we wanted. His friendly and professional staff took care of all of the work on the day, even setting out some decorations my mom had made, and our dinner and reception ran smoothly and looked absolutely beautiful.

Throughout the planning process, Chef Steve responded to all emails and phone calls promptly. He made it very clear that our wedding was important and special, and he would do everything he could to make it so. He made what could have been a very stressful process very manageable and we were incredibly pleased with the result--and reasonably priced on top! Our wedding was indeed very special and we owe a lot of that to Chef Steve and Creative Cuisines.

I can only say that dealing with Creative Cuisines was the best decision I made in planning my daughter's wedding. Chef Steve is the best vendor that I ever worked with. I had complete confidence after meeting with him that he would make sure my daughter's wedding was the best. The quality and varied choices in food was wonderful. He is more than just a great chef. He helped with a lot of the planning and rental choices. He is a true professional and anyone would be lucky to have him plan their wedding. The night of the wedding went very smoothly and the food choices we made were delicious. It was a great night and I give Chef Steve a great deal of the credit.

We used Creative Cuisines for our April wedding at the Mariner's Museum and couldn't have been more satisfied. From start to finish, Steve was actively involved in every step of the planning process. We started by talking about what we envisioned for our reception, and followed that up with a preliminary menu. Steve was so flexible and was able to accommodate everything we could think of. He didn't limit our menu to "what he offered" as many places do. We offered suggestions, and he improved upon them and personalized them to our requests which was great. After setting the menu, we did a dinner tasting, where we got to sample most of the things on our menu. Steve reminded us that this was a good time to change anything if we wanted to, but everything was so amazing, we didn't dare change a thing!! Steve also coordinated our rentals, from tablecloths, to dinnerware, to the dance floor. It took a ton of extra stuff off our to-do list, and I knew it would get done correctly. He was great with paying attention to detail and making sure our specifications were met. We couldn't have been happier, and I would use him again in a heartbeat!

Creative Cuisines of Williamsburg provided the catering services for my daughter's September, 2012, wedding. Chef Steve was absolutely exceptional! He is very professional and his knowledge of how to plan and coordinate the event makes you able to relax and enjoy the day. He works with you to implement the special touches that ensure the wedding reception follows the unique preferences and theme of the bride and groom. All of the food was delicious especially Chef Steve's signature dishes!
I even had one guest say the food was so good that she "dreamed about it!". If you want the perfect wedding reception, I would highly recommend Chef Steve of Creative Cuisines.

Mark and Julie wedding, Part 1:
My husband and I worked with Chef Steve from Creative Cuisines for our wedding on September 1, 2012. Chef Steve was exceptional from throughout the entire process from planning the event through execution of the event. During the planning process, Chef Steve not only helped plan the meal, he also helped with advise on the entire event from set up of the venue (which he was familiar with) to excellent advice on the other services (photography, DJ, etc). In our first meeting with Chef Steve, he listened to our goals and from then on out created a vision for the evening that represented our priorities for the reception.
In addition to during the planning process, Chef Steve provided exceptional service during the wedding. Chef Steve went out of his way to make the wedding reception perfect. He met with us the day before the wedding at the venue and was able to take care of many things in addition to food such as set up and coordination with the florist and coordination with the DJ. Chef Steve is there the entire event from the set up before the ceremony to cutting the cake (or in our case cutting the pies and serving a birthday cake to the best man) to clean up of the venue after the event. Chef Steve was amazing when even at the last minute (the day before the wedding) we decided that we wanted to serve ice cream with our pies. This was not a problem at all for chef Steve.

Part 2: Mark & Julie Wedding, 9/1/12
In addition to the service, the food is amazing. Not only did we love the food, but we had many compliments from the guests. We enjoyed Chef Steve’s signature dishes such as crab cakes and beef tenderloin but he also made sure all of our favorites such as bacon wrapped scallops, caprese salad, and brandied lobster dip served warm with French bread (a creative way to make it affordable to have lobster in the menu) were on the menu. Finally, I fell in love with some of the other dishes that Chef Steve made such as the Brie, Peach, and Peanut tarts and the butternut squash ravioli with caramelized red onion, sage and amoretti crumbs. (My mother and husband can usually taste any recipe at a restaurant and duplicate it at home but thus far we have not been able to figure out Chef Steve’s secret to this one).
Unlike most brides and grooms, we actually ensured that we enjoy the food at our wedding. However, Chef Steve prepared a basket of goodies for us to enjoy later in our honeymoon suite and he packaged the left overs for my family to enjoy for a day or 2 after the wedding.
Not only would we certainly use Creative Cuisines again for any other special event, party, birthday, but we highly recommend Chef Steve and Creative Cuisines to anyone. Chef Steve is worth every penny and more of what we paid him. Selecting Chef Steve for our wedding was the first wedding choice we made during the planning process and by far the best since Chef Steve went above and beyond all expectations.

My husband and I hosted a sit-down dinner buffet wedding reception for about 120 people and used the services of Steve Munday of Creative Cuisines. We were thoroughly delighted with the presentation and the taste of the dinner Steve prepared. He was willing to work within our budget, yet he still managed to provide food that was well above your standard chicken breast dinner. The food was gourmet and was elegantly presented; but, most of all the meal tasted fantastic! His staff of waiters were professional and efficient. I highly recommend Creative Cuisines!

Chef Steve made our wedding a beautiful success. He made the whole process so easy and painless. His staff was amazing and we could tell he really handpicked quality, professional people. He even had a special surprise for us at the reception related to our engagement story. He really helped create an event that reflected who we are and he incorporated all the different food that we love! The worst part about the wedding being over is that we no longer have an excuse to interact with him. We wish that he had a restaurant so that we could just pop in and say hi and taste his delicious food again.

Working with Chef Steve and Creative Creations was a wonderful experience! Creative Cuisines was the perfect caterer for my wedding. I could not have been more pleased with the experience and working with Steve Munday directly to plan the perfect menu and event for us. It was not only easy but a pleasure. Steve is not only your caterer, but he also helps plan out the event, keep you on track (and calm), and is able to advise you to ensure that you are having the event that you dreamed.

Beyond the service you receive, the food is amazing! I had so many compliments during the wedding and after, that this was the best food that anyone has experienced at a wedding, hands down. My family and friends can be a bit of "food snobs" and found that everything was perfecting prepared and presented. We also had a few special requests - vegan diets and gluten allergies which Steve and his staff were able to handle with ease. The staff was wonderful as well, I knew they were taking care of everyone and they were friendly and accomodating at all times. Like most bride and grooms, we were not able to enjoy as much of the food at our reception as we expected, but Steve took care of us by preparing a basket with "goodies" from our reception along with several slices of our cake to enjoy later.

Not only is the food and service you'll recieve from Creative Cuisines amazing, but the fact that they work so well with your other vendors (and practically know everyone in the area) gave me a feeling of ease and that my reception was going to be flawless.

I would certainly use Creative Cuisines again for any other special event, party, birthday, and know that I could depend on them to not only deliver some of the most delicious food I've had, but to also provide an overall great experience for me and my guests.

Working with Steve was a breeze and I am absolutely 100% satisfied with the catering he did for my wedding reception. I originally chose Creative Cuisines because, compared to other caterers I looked at, Creative Cuisines seemed to give you a lot more for your money. The entire menu was custom and Steve did an excellent job of both giving us the food we asked for as well as staying within our budget. We also got to take home all the leftovers, which was a big plus when you are spending that much money on food! Creative Cuisines didn't change cork fees for serving the wine we provided and Steve even helped us calculate how much beer and wine to serve. As me and my fiance did not want a traditional wedding cake, we spoke with Steve about our alternatives. In the end, Steve made us a two tier cheesecake, which we used as a wedding cake, and then made a dessert bar with other options.
All the guests raved about how incredible the food was and I agree with them! The food was absolutely amazing!! I can guarantee that we will eat all of the leftovers!! If you are getting married and need a caterer, call Creative Cuisines!

I loved working with Steve. He was responsive and flexible to all of our requests. He made sure to tell us if anything wouldn't work. He helped us to create a beautiful and delicious menu within our budget. Leading up to our wedding we coordinated most of the details over email which was very helpful to me and my work schedule while planning the wedding out of town. During the actual reception, everything was seamless despite a quick summer storm that blew in and out (the reception was outside). After the reception was over Steve packed up a basket for us of leftovers and one item I had requested but that ultimately was deleted from our menu. This was such a thoughtful touch! If I had to do it all over again, I do it all the same. All the guests said the food was EXCELLENT and not the typical wedding fare. If you value good food, then pick Creative Cuisines and you won't be disappointed.

I don't even know where to begin with my praises of Steve and his crew at Creative Cuisines. From the first contact we made by phone I was impressed by his responsiveness, friendliness, professionalism, and desire to help us have the wedding reception that we dreamed of. Ours was an out-of-town wedding - neither the bride and groom, nor parents of the couple live in Williamsburg. Steve assured us that he could provide all the service we needed and alleviated any anxiety we had about planning a reception from a distance. He was familiar with our hall and made wise recommendations about table arrangement and crowd "flow" to maximize everyone's ability to mingle and enjoy the music, food, and each other. The food was beyond delicious and its presentation was superlative. I could go on and on about what a positive experience we had with Creative Cuisines catering our wedding reception. I loved working with Stave Munday. His food is delicious and he worked very hard to put together a menu both to our tastes and within our budget. He also took care of all the rentals not provided by the reception venue. I am one of the only brides I know who actually got to eat dinner at her reception and I am so glad I did. For those brides who don't get that chance, Steve provides a basket full of his delicious food.

If I could give Creative Cuisines infinity stars, I would! Not only is Steve a talented chef, he is friendly, organized,responsive, helpful and made me feel 100% at ease. All of my guests complimented the food and the attentiveness of the staff.

Anyone planning a wedding should definitely choose Creative Cuisines! Ask for the crab cakes, they are AMAZING. Thank you, Steve, and the Creative Cuisine staff for making my wedding day awesome!

Steve Munday made our daughter's wedding reception both easy to plan and a big success. He helped with menu suggestions to suit both taste and budget, went with the bride to pick out linens, coordinated with all vendors - the site, florist, linens and tableware and dj - and provided fantastic food. He and his staff are very accommodating and friendly which helped to make the event so enjoyable for everyone. We couldn't have asked for more. We took leftovers home that fed visiting family members and I didn't have to cook! We are still getting comments from friends about "the best wedding reception food ever".

Working with Steve Munday and Creative Cuisines was an incredible experience and the best decision that we made for our wedding! His service was immaculate in every way. He was willing to meet with me as often as I needed and met me at my venue months before the wedding reception. He took the time to listen to what we wanted in our menu and could not have been more spot on. His knowledge of wedding reception logistics, timing and service presentation ensured that everything moved smoothly. Steve also linked me with a great rental agency that took care of items ranging from chairs to tablecloths.

His staff at the wedding was incredibly friendly and professional and a delight to have around. The food was not only delicious but beautifully and artistically presented. People went back for third and fourth plates and are still raving!

Creative Cuisines was a pleasure and worth every penny. I highly, highly recommend them!!

Steve Munday and his staff were incredible. Steve e-mailed me a proposed menu which had something for everyone. He took it from there and handled the whole event with only 1 meeting with me. The food was the talk of the evening -- all of the guests were completely wowed. Their signature wedges were a hit. Steve also did cupcakes for our wedding, and they were spectacular. The service was great; they even sent a box out for a child and babysitter. And they boxed up all of the leftover food for us and the guests to take with us.

We never imagined we would get so many compliments on the food at our wedding. Creative Cuisines provides a level of food and service beyond the typical "wedding food." Steve is a phenomenal chef that truly pays attention to detail, will customize the entire menu to match your tastes perfectly, and is always willing to go the extra mile to make your day that much easier and more special. We also used Creative Cuisines for the rehearsal dinner; it allowed us to have an intimate atmosphere while maintaining quality equal to or above the best restaurants in town. In short, you can't get any better than Creative Cuisines.

. When our son announced his plan to marryin Williamsburg, we felt Steve was the only realistic choice for a caterer. The bridal couple met with Steve and came away with the same conclusion. My husband and I, of course, also engaged Creative Cuisines for the rehearsal dinner in our home. I must confess, arriving after a cold and rainy wedding rehearsal, to find tables gleaming with silver and candlelight, and professional attendants offering delightful little morsels for our guests, was bliss! The combination carving station and buffet was a sensible way to combine elegance and utlity. The food was divine, the service exceptional (they cleaned and swept as they went) and the entire event went as smooth as silk.
We relied on Steve's expertise to create a special evening, and he and Creative Cuisines exceeded our expectations. My husband and I loved the experience so much, we're already planning our next event-a birthday, an anniversary, anything we can think of to justify another call to Creative Cuisines! Thank you, Steve, for the memories ( and the leftovers!)

Steve is such a nice guy and an amazing chef. We met with him on several occasions and he provided us with such an outstanding menu. All of our guests raved about the food and still tell us it was the best food they have had at a wedding. We also provided Steve with a budget and he worked with us to stay within it. Steve Mundy was one of two caterers we interviewed (both highly recommended), but chose Steve for his obvious love of food and his friendly manner. From the initial conversation to the elegant "tasting" at his establishment to the wedding reception, it was a pleasure to work with Steve and his staff. He was always responsive to our requests and questions, even adding some Polish-inspired items to honor my son-in-law's family. The menu he prepared was creative and delicious, earning raves from the guests, many of whom are local. I wouldn't think of trying anyone else for another catered event.

Definitely the best caterer for your Williamsburg wedding!! Steve Munday is a pleasure to work with and an excellent chef. Our wedding was last month, and our guests are still talking about how amazing the food was. Mmmmm....I can still taste those delicious butternut squash ravioli and crabcakes...

Steve truly lived up to his company's name and was very creative and flexible in customizing our menu to fit our specific tastes and budget. Our crowd had very diverse tastes, and Steve managed to please everyone from discerning foodies to picky allergy-prone eaters to vegetarians to the meat-and-potatoes crowd.

Steve also put a lot of effort into the presentation of the food and worked with our florist (My Favorite Things), cake baker (Charlie Little), and reception venue (Alumni House) to capture the exact aesthetic look we wanted, and our reception pictures turned out beautiful as a result! I was so happy to arrive at our reception venue and find everything exactly as I wanted and all our guests happy.

Steve also provided our bar services, and our guests commented on the quality of the mixed drinks. I also personally loved the wines Steve picked out, they were an excellent value for the cost. I mentioned the wine he picked to a friend who owns a wine shop, and he was very impressed with the quality of wine being served at our wedding as often wedding wines are pretty poor in quality.

Steve's staff was also extremely professional, and the service was very timely.

Steve really went out of his way to make our day wonderful -- he exceeded all of our expectations and endeared himself to both me and my husband.

From our very first meeting, this vendor took the time to explain options and ideas for our daughter's reception. He was open to suggestions and came up with a menu within our budget. We had a scheduled tasting session which was excellent and that excellence carried through to the reception of 100 guests. He was very clear on what he would provide and his organization of the reception - there were no 'bad' surprises as he did all that was promised. He and his staff were a pleasure to work with and I would certainly recommend them. Our guests continue to rave about the food and set-up at the reception!

The level of service was beyond our expectations. Chef Munday recommended other vendors and then called ahead for us to see if their services would be available. During our first meeting, chef told us he used only fresh ingredients in his menu and that there would be no pre-packaged dishes. He then asked for a list of favorite foods from which he designed a personalized menu within our budget. All email inquiries were answered same day with generous explanations and cheerful enthusiasm. The reception was so incredibly well managed that it didn't even require the services of a wedding coordinator. The family and wedding party simply relaxed and enjoyed stunning food! Many guests commented that the food was the best they had ever eaten at a wedding. And there was plenty of it! Afterwards, the families went home with generous leftovers, as promised by Chef Munday.

Creative Cuisines did an absolutely tremendous job with our wedding. Steve needed very little guidance -- he took our cues and ran with the menu, and he did an absolutely fantastic job given that he had only met with us a few times in person. He provides a service in Williamburg that is far and away as good as the food and service I get in my home town of New York City. He is a delight to work with, as is his staff. I would trust him with any event, any time.

If you want great food, hire Chef Steve. He caters exactly to what you want, while making sure all of your guests enjoy it as well. We had a vegetarian wedding, an absolute nightmare for most caterers! But Chef Steve took it like a champ, coming up with great options. Half of the guests didn't even realize it was vegetarian until my mom spilled the beans!! (Not literally, there were no actual beans that were spilled.) But between the pizza, quesidillas, and other fun food turned fancy, and the presentation, this was some of the BEST food I've ever had.

Creative Cuisines and Chef Steve were an absolute pleasure to work with. Not only was the food amazing but so was the level of service. Chef Steve went to great lengths leading up to the wedding to help make our visions come true. We are still hearing good things about the food to this day. Chef Steve, Patti, and the rest of the team were amazing. It's been almost two months since our wedding and our guests are still talking about the quality of service and the delicious food we had. Supposedly most brides "don't get a chance to eat their own food." I made sure I got to try it all, and I'm so glad I did. (And when I thought I might get too side tracked to eat, he assured me he would have someone personally bring me the dishes so I would not miss out).
I was pretty sporadic in the food items we told him we wanted (mac n cheese, sushi, deviled eggs), yet he somehow tied it all together via passed appetizers, stationaries, and grill stations so it all felt naturally cohesive. (PS he works really well with vegetarians too!)
He just had a calming presence that put me at ease, and he made it very clear to me when certain times would be busy for him in case I tried to contact him. He took care of so many things that I never thought a caterer would (map of set up, setting things up, linens, etc).
We met multiple times for various reasons that always kept us on the same page. Steve was the only vendor I went beyond my budget for and I would do it again all over for the food quality and his service.
My family loved all the left over food we got sent home with too :)

My husband and I were extremely pleased with the quality of food, pricing, and services provided by Chef Steve Munday with Creative Cuisines.

We found that Steve Munday’s prices were fair and reasonable when comparing them to the other top competitors in the region. We paid for most of the wedding ourselves and were extremely budget conscious, however, we felt that every dime we spent with Creative Cuisines was straight forward and accounted for. This made working with Steve very painless and put us at ease as alterations and tweaking took place to the menu, guest number count, and service requests. Services by Chef Steve is something else I could go on and on about. Steve will not book any other event during the time of your wedding and he personally is present throughout the entire event. We felt that we could count on him to deal with anything that came up during the wedding while always keeping us in his best interest. Not only did Steve act a wedding coordinator during our wedding day, he acted as our wedding planner by collaborating and sharing his advice throughout our planning process for table layouts, linens, glassware options, etc. We found so much value in his services that we ended up arranging for him to also cater our rehearsal dinner. The Staff he hires to work the wedding is also exceptional. In college I worked as a server for many wedding functions so I know firsthand, that Steve’s staff was more experienced and professional in comparison to the industry standard. Finally there is the FOOD. Steve provided us with a menu that was unique, delicious and unforgettable. Many of our gests still talk about the food to this day. My husband is Colombian and Steve was able to incorporate Colombian regional foods as well as Polish foods for my background. Collaborating with Steve to work out every detail was truly a pleasure. We hope to find an excuse to work with him again one day!

Creative Cuisine provided the catering services for our niece's wedding in Williamsburg. Steve Munday is an exceptional chef and provided not only for the wedding reception and dinner meal that featured American, Indian & Italian cuisine, but assisted in many of the rental service requirements. There are three things that friends and family always told my wife and I were critical to the success of a wedding: good drinks, good music, and, most of all, good food. We were introduced to Chef Steve by my mother-in-law based on good reviews that she read. When we first met with Chef Steve, we detailed our passions for international travel and our respective heritages (my wife is from Virginia and I am from Cajun Louisiana). We explained how we would have guests who are vegetarians, pescetarians, gluten-free, no beef, Muslim, Kosher, lactose intolerant, and one vegan. And we suggested that we would be greatly pleased if he could encapsulate the culinary traditions of LA, VA, England, France, South Africa, China, and Turkey. Chef Steve seemed to think on the challenge laid out for a few moments and then agreed to take on our wedding reception. For hors d'ouvres during cocktail hour, there were Turkish crepes with lamb and feta, Chinese egg rolls with plum sauce (with VA BBQ pulled pork), cheese beignets, quiche loraine, vegetable terrines, VA peanuts, English cheddar, French brie, and VA Appalachian. And that was just cocktail hour! Dinner was English beef tenderloin (with horseradish sauce or wine sauce), Turkish chicken and mushroom skewers, South African bunny chow (curry in bread), Parisian ratatouille, Cajun duck and rabbit gumbo, fried catfish, peanut-crusted pork tenderloin with bourbon sauce, and a number of delightful side dishes. What an amazing array of food! And in lieu of cake and in honour of Christmas, we served a variety of cookies from a vendor in Williamsburg and Steve prepared a sampling of roasted pear chausson, mincemeat tarts, spiced pecan tarts, and banana fritters a la Foster. The cascade of compliments we received from friends and family about the delicious food and amazing event was staggering! While he can be hard to get in touch with, he absolutely delivers! Let him be part of the creative process and prepare to be amazed!

There is a single, undeniable fact about the cuisine Chef Steve Munday serves: it is exceptional. He will work with you to develop a menu that fits your tastes and desires and will keep your guests coming back for seconds and thirds (or more). As a twenty-something in the full throes of the “wedding circuit,” I can say that Creative Cuisines serves the best menu that your guests will ever eat at a wedding. Comments on the food keep rolling in, even several months later. Steve Munday has a particular level of service that places him in the five-star category. Pay attention to the details of your contract and be frank with Chef Steve, but please don’t let it ruin the delicious food he puts on your plate – he knows what he’s doing.

Our guests were amazed at the quality of food at the reception. Nice variety and beautiful presentation. Staff was extremely courteous and personal. Especially loved the personal touch when staff came to each table and explained the food stations and answered questions about the meal and invited them to get their dinner. Made it so much nicer than the DJ announcing the tables. Many of our guests inquired as to what caterer we used and took time to jot down the name for future reference. Planning was made easier for both of us once we understood the schedule for the caterer (i.e., e-mails and meetings completed after the normal working hours). WONDERFUL touch to have the caterer handle all the rental items as well, one less thing for the bride to coordinate. Highly recommend!!!

Creative Cuisines was fantastic for our wedding. Many of our guests commented that it was the best food they had ever had at a reception. It was delicious and plentiful.
