    Amazing Job on Cake

    Laura and her staff were wonderful to work with. Even though the venue we booked for our wedding said they take care of ordering the cake, Laura did not mind at all that I stopped in to ask questions directly with her.

    We originally chose two flavors four our four tier (carrot/cream cheese and snicker doodle/cream cheese), but with Laura's help we decided change one of the four layers to what she said was her most popular (fresh strawberry filling with vanilla frosting).

    She also gave me ideas for creating our own cake topper. I think we nailed it! :) (See photo) The cake was exactly how we pictured it would be and turned out perfect! It was rustic-chic.

    At then end of the night, we realized we only had one bite of the cake at the cutting. That one bite was delicious! Guests raved about the cake and many commented on how yummy the strawberry was!

    Thank you for the wonderful experience! We will recommend Creations By Laura to others.

    Laura was absolutely amazing and so very talented. We could talk with her like she was a friend, not just a business person. Her cakes are so unbelievable tasty and she does cake fillings which are mind-blowing. I will always use Laura's bakery for many occasions now. Definitely go have a tasting with her and you can see everything she has to offer and taste the yummy fillings.

    Laura did the dessert table for our wedding. Our guests raved about everything! She was so pleasant and easy to work with. Her cupcakes were described by many of our guests as the best they've had.

    Laura did an amazing job with our cake. We met with her first to decide if we were going to get a cake from her, and she made cupcakes with different flavors and fillings for us to try. She had several large books with lots of pictures to help us get ideas and the cakes she keeps on display are flawless. She really knows her business and can give lots of input on flavors, size, style, and even how to display the cake. She is very flexible with design and her talent could match just about any request. Her prices are fair, and you definitely get what you pay for and more! We ended up with 5 different flavors of cake with the different cake layers and kitchen cakes (back-up cakes not displayed) and the guests loved them all. She's definitely worth at least talking to if you're looking for your baker.

    I found Creations By Laura through a google search for cake makers near our wedding venue. The first time I called and spoke with her over the phone I loved how personable she is and I knew very early on that she would make the cake for my wedding. She is very professional and always wants to make the client happy because she truly understands how important a wedding cake is. After sending her pictures of what we wanted our cake to look like she gave us an estimate which was very close to what we ended up paying because we chose to add a few extra things during our in person consultation. My wife and I loved that we were able to combine different flavors into the same cake. Laura was amazing the day of the wedding because she came and set up the cake and put real flowers on it for us. My wife and I were very happy with her service and highly recommend her. 5 Stars all the way.

    Planning a wedding in Union, MO from our home in Orlando, FL, was nerve-racking to say the least. Thank goodness for Creations By Laura. From our first conversation, I KNEW this was going to be a success! My daughter wanted a simple cake, and Laura's dots and pearls design, with a ribbon of scrolling between each layer was perfect! And the flavors? Oh my! Each layer was different: Carrot Cake with cream cheese filling, Snickerdoodle with cinnamon filling, Chocolate with turtle filling and White with fresh strawberry filling. Everyone, and I do mean EVERYONE, raved about the cake. Over and over again people said how moist it was, that it was without a doubt the best wedding cake they had ever had! Oh, Laura, you were a blessing to the bride and to her mother, I assure you!!! If you are planning a wedding in the Union area, do not hesitate to call Creations By Laura. You will not be disappointed!!!!

    They made my dream cake with only being able to communicate via email. Thank you to Laura and her team for making such a moist delicious tasting cake that was elegant!

    We loved our cake! It was exactly what we wanted. Laura did a great job and the cake looked, and tasted, great. She was very reasonable on price. Everyone at the wedding thought the cake was beautiful. I will definitely use Creations by Laura again!

    She took a picture of a cake I found on the Internet and made it to perfection! It was even better than the picture! Everyone loved my cake!

    I had the grooms cake done through Laura after seeing them at a wedding extravaganza here in Washington, MO. It was a Coors beer bucket with replica sugar 'glass' beer bottles in it. It looked real! The groom didn't believe it when I surprised him with it and told him that everything was edible! The cake was amazing!!!

    Laura was so easy to work with and really did a great job creating the cake we asked for. She was super easy to get a hold of, even when I called at 9:45 one evening!! I knew my wedding cake was one thing I didn't have to worry about, because she had it under control. Laura's family works in the bakery with her, and they do an amazing job also. Her cakes are delicious, I recommend french vanilla with strawberry filling, SO GOOD!

    Personally, I'm not a cake-lover. So when I was looking for a wedding cake, the decoration was a higher priority for me than the taste. We found a cake at Creations by Laura that was simple and classy. I customized a picture of what I had in mind as colors, ribbon, and topping. When I saw the cake, it was exactly as I imagined it! It was moist and perfect when the groom and I cut into it. We received many compliments on how beautiful it was and several guests commented on how delicious it was!

    We had so many compliments about our cake. It was very moist and the flavor was wonderful! If you like the look of fondant but hate the way it tastes (like me) Laura can provide you with the same look with buttercream. We had only positive comments from our guests. Her pricing is reasonable and she was on time for delivery in downtown St. Louis. Our one complaint is that after the wedding, she had negative comments about our flowers that were placed on the cake. (After we received our photos we were reassured that the flowers were as they should have looked thank goodness.) Everyone says "Something won't go the way you planned it." for a reason. It's true! But the last thing a bride and groom want to hear AFTER their wedding is that something else wasn't perfect. It was really a downer and unprofessional.

    You get what you pay for. Finished product matched my vision perfectly. We were able to change flavoring/filling for each layer and that was a good value. Would definitely use for wedding and feel comfortable about recommending. Very professional and good for country and city events!

    Creations By Laura provided the wedding cake for my wedding back in May, and it was beyond delicious. Laura really works with you and makes sure you get exactly what you want for your big day. We had a topsy turvy style cake, and we got so many compliments on it.

    We had 4 tiers to our cake, and each tier was a different flavor. I had a little bit of each on the wedding night, and seriously EVERY single flavor was perfect. I can't tell you how many people told us they wished we had doubled the size of our cake, just so they could all have a second piece!

    I only gave Laura 4 stars for professionalism, just because of one or two hiccups. When we went in for our cake tasting, she made cupcakes in the flavors we wanted to try. But she mixed up which cupcakes to take out of the freezing for our meeting, so when we got there, the cupcakes were still frozen. We had to take them home with us and try them a few hours later. It's not the worst thing in the world and was an honest mistake, and the cupcakes were still amazing a few hours later.

    If you're still looking for a cake vendor, I really suggest checking out Creations By Laura. You won't be sorry!

    My husband and I feel so lucky to have found Creations by Laura. The family-run business is located in Union, MO -- about 40 miles from where we were having our wedding, at a pretty rural rustic 1860's style log cabin b&b -- and also in the town where my husband's mom lives. Not only does Creations by Laura make incredibly skilled, ornate and simply gorgeous cakes in a huge variety of flavors (we got almond and german chocolate in our cake), the owner (and cake baker) Laura was so friendly and willing to work with us to stay within our budget on cake designs we'd love but could afford, as well as on ways to incorporate special elements that were important to us -- like bittersweet vine to add to our autumn-themed cake.

    Laura was also perfectly happy and willing to meet us on a Saturday -- since we live in Iowa and were just in the area for a weekend. The whole process was both fun -- but also very professional and organized. Since we had no idea going into the meeting what sort of cake we'd want, the kinds of decorations, or anything else, it was very helpful that there were several photo albums showcasing the range of cakes and designs possible. Laura was also very easy-going and easy to talk to, and made sure we understood the process and timeline for payment, but in such a friendly way.

    The business offers free delivery within 20 miles -- which was great, as we only had to pay for the other 20 miles -- and Laura delivered the cake fresh on the morning of the wedding to set it up. We got so many compliments on the design, and the cake itself was really delicious. We are so happy with our choice, and would happily recommend Creations by Laura to anyone for their birthday, office event, holiday, wedding or anything else.

    The cake was beautiful and everyone enjoyed it. I never did receive samples prior to my wedding as promised but everyone really seemed to enjoy the cake and it was beautiful.

    Creations by Laura has wonderful cakes. Her designs and the quality of her cakes and decorations are wonderful. She however lack a little class. I really hate to put it that way, don't get me wrong...she was fine to work with, she just could have been a little nicer. When we scheduled our meeting with her she was working with another girl and took about 20 minutes into our time, which isn't a big deal but her "bakery" is like two little rooms, a showroom and an office, and there was no where to sit and wait. Then she had us come in and acted like it wasn't a big deal that we had been waiting...she gave us samples which weren't bad, but she didn't ask us what type we would like to try when i booked the meeting and gave us mostly favors we did not like. She then explained what cake items needed to come back in a box to her after the event...but i didn't remember anything about the cardboard that each tier sat on. I guess she has these pieces of cardboard covered in tin foil and sit between each tier...unfortunatly we threw those away. When the grooms sister went to return the other items she was quite short and rude with her. Saying that she was missing pieces, in which his sister explained that we were in Jamaica and she would have to talk to us in a week, which she was not happy with. After a few rude phone calls and both of our moms searching everywhere, they asked how much it was to replace them....and it was $15.....seriously $15....are you kidding, we spent $497 on a cake, like I care about $15. I'm glad we made such a big deal out of it!
    Other than that the cake was good, and it was very beautiful! I doubt anyone else will have any problems with her, she really is nice, I just think we caught her on a bad day.

    I have to admit at first I was disheartened when I first read this review. After looking at the wedding date I came to the realization that we moved our entire store within two weeks of this wedding. I probably wasn’t as rude as I was very stressed (and bride probably was too). Good news is we have more than doubled our space at our new and much larger location. So come on by and have a seat, we have plenty of room.
    Never had any one complain about receiving free samples before, most are quite excited. For the record every tier of our cakes are on covered wooden boards not cardboard, that is why we ask that they are to be returned. We also use a stainless steel structure on the inside to keep them from collapsing. Good quality food safe cake equipment is a investment We want every cake to be strong and structurally sound.

    Laura was easy to work with and accommodating to our wants and needs. Everyone raved about the cupcakes, and they were displayed beautifully in the venue.

    There was, however, a mix-up on a fairly important aspect. We had 2 guests with severe food allergies. We had worked with Laura to determine which of the four flavors of cupcakes these guests could eat, and I purchased different color liners to "color code" the cupcakes. However, one of our venue servers mentioned to me as we were cutting our cake that the liners didn't match to the sign I had made to sit on the cake table. Fortunately, we were able to let those guests know that the sign was wrong, but unfortunately they didn't get to enjoy any dessert because we couldn't be sure which cupcake was in which liner.

    Overall, I would recommend Creations by Laura.

    So sorry to hear about the mix up on color coding of your cupcakes. No one said any thing when they brought back the returns. I never knew till I read your review. I went back and looked at the pictures and we did in fact have the polka dot flavored ones reversed. You were so organized and made such a nice sign too. I thought maybe I wrote it down wrong on my paper work but it was correct there too. I obviously had a big fail when it came time to execute. Sorry for the inconvenience and confusion it may have caused.
