Anna Sent on 10/08/2018We chose Makayla because of her beautiful website and her aesthetic. She was extremely charming, fun and talented. She was flexible and took advantage of every opportunity to capture a special moment, even sharing with us that she took a photo of a bird that flew into view just as I started talking about my recently deceased father in my vows. I will cherish that photo for the rest of my life. How on point she must have been to have caught that moment. I would recommend Makayla for any special event. She is wonderful. -

There are no words to describe the level of service we received once we partnered with Makayla for our wedding. From the beginning, we knew we made the right choice after bonding over our pups. I am not one to enjoy having my picture taken – but now after seeing our final images, I can’t believe how many pictures I want to show off! Our wedding was everything we dreamed of – and Makayla captured exactly what we wanted – beautiful, candid and real moments of everyone we loved! I want to provide in great detail all of the awesomeness that Makayla brought to our experience, but I would hate to deprive another couple of enjoying each of their own moments! Each of our photos tells our beautiful story, and we were so lucky Makayla was there to help document our day! -

Makayla is Warmth Personified
We are extremely happy and grateful that we chose Makayla with The Autumn Dog Studio for our wedding photographer. She brought a very calm and helpful presence to our day that was so appreciated. Many of our guests commented on her ability to be in multiple places at once, which definitely shows in the MANY shots and angles she was able to get as our sole photographer. Makayla was very easy to communicate with, she was responsive and flexible in laying out different options for us when planning our day. The photos we received back in our album are stunning and exactly capture the memories and feelings of the day. We highly recommend The Autumn Dog Studio for price, professionalism, results, and her personal touch. -

Choosing to work with Makayla and the Autumn Dog Studios was by far the best decision we made during the wedding planning process. From day one, her dedication and commitment to her people and her work was apparent. She got to know us and what we were looking for in our video, and she was intentional about capturing the moments that were most important to us. The video she was able to capture and the films she created were a beautiful, authentic representation of our day. She always seemed to be in the right place at the right time, even when we hardly realized she was there. While wedding planning came with its unique set of stressors, Makayla never added to that stress. She checked in with us at all the right moments and made the whole process easier than we could have imagined. Her e-mails always put a smile on our faces. We would recommend her over and over again! -

The BOMB.com!
Makayla is THE BOMB! Talk about natural talent!! I will definitely be using her for my second, third, fourth marriage as my wedding photographer.. (joking! But she’s that good!) She has all the tricks to break the ice and make all your photos feel and look so natural. I love every photo she took. She captured the whole day in the most beautiful way, making it feel like you’re right back to that special day when looking through our photos. I will use her for every special event in my life because we loved her that much!! -

I am sure to tear up for years to come....
So I believe the conversation about the wedding photographer started with, "I'm sorry, you want to pay how much?" This was two years and some change before the day we actually got married (thanks COVID). I have to say that this is one of the few times I will admit I was wrong and say that Makayla was very much worth it. Our experience started out with a skype meeting, as we lived five hours away, that got the gist of what she does best and if that fit what we wanted in wedding pictures. Spoiler alert, it was. Flash forward two years to the wedding (Makayla worked with us rescheduling due to COVID). She was able to capture moments that I did not even know happened due to the craziness of the day and being pulled in five different directions at once. Moments like my wife looking at her dress, the brides maids playing CAH while getting ready and her family seeing her for the first time in her dress. There are many other moments during the night that she noticed but those were my favs. We did very few posed pictures and the ones we did do went quickly and turned out amazing. I can honestly say that she does care about you on your wedding day and it shows through the photos. I am not an overly emotional guy but I end up tearing up looking back at these and most likely will for years to come. Thank you Autumn Dog Studio and Makayla for capturing not just our wedding but who we are as people. -

Makayla embodies what it means to capture the magic that already exists. Our wedding photos reflected the love, joy, tears, funny moments, and realness of our day with such beautiful perspective and care.
She has a calm, assured, and supportive aura that made my spouse and I feel so comfortable. We had a two day event and Makayla was incredibly accommodating to photograph both days seamlessly. Her professionalism before, during, and after the event impressed us throughout.

I was debating whether or not to hire a videographer for our wedding as I usually find wedding videos over the top and totally obnoxious. But after a recommendation from my photographer to check out Makayla, I was swooning over her work and immediately reached out. Makayla is a warm hug from an old friend with charm and grace. Every conversation was a breath of fresh air and a boost of confidence. Her customer service touch puts her over the edge and makes you feel like you are the most important client she's ever had. I told her my vision for the feel of our video was the opening credits from The Wonder Years - and not only did she absolutely nail it, she uncovered all the heartfelt emotions a human soul can feel. She was everywhere throughout our wedding day but never felt intrusive, overbearing, or pushy. Rather she fit right in with our wedding party and guests - like she's been a part of our lives forever. Makayla truly has a special gift and we are forever grateful she shared it with us on our favorite day. -

She was perfect! She knew all the right things to do and say to capture great pictures. Even with a group that was as loud and inattentive as ours, she was able to get everyone back in line and somewhat organized to have pictures done. She's knowledgeable on where to go to get the best lighting, best angles, and she knows how capture the right moments when we truly express ourselves. She's definitely confident in the work she does and you can tell she knows what she's doing by the way she leads. She's funny and easy to get along with, and always does her job with a full-fledged smile! When you think about having pictures done, sometimes it can be a drag, but she actually made it the opposite of that and we had fun with every minute of it. Excellent photography with passion and professionalism. -

Makayla was the perfect photographer for our less traditional & DIY wedding - she captured our story beautifully and dove right into our blissful wedding chaos. Both bride & groom got ready at the same house & Makayla did a fabulous job running up & down the three flights of stairs capturing so many lovely moments with our favorite people. We drove together to our venue and snapped the necessary family photos prior to our ceremony, which all turned out great! Makayla took stunning photos during our intimate ceremony, tears of joy from loved ones, loads of hugs, cocktail hour fun, and speeches.
Not only is Makayla incredibly kind, genuine, calm, and professional, but also the most organized person we've ever worked with - her questionnaires, communication, and prompt editing was incredible. She truly listened to us and all our quirky requests! We cannot thank Makayla enough and feel so lucky to have worked with her on our wedding day! Beautiful candid pictures we'll cherish forever
Makayla's photos are amazing and we are so glad we hired her to cover our wedding ceremony and reception. The day was such a whirlwind, it's a real pleasure to look back at the many many great pictures she's taken. She has captured so many moments, looks, smiles, laughs, hugs, dance moves, tears, it feels like she was everywhere at once. We did just a handful of posed pictures, but her style and talent really is in the candid shots. She knew how to make people comfortable, and provide us with a little direction when needed, but mostly it felt like she just knew how to make herself invisible. The pictures are so precious, and they've helped a lot of family who weren't there to feel like they can share in our wedding too. You can hire Makayla without hesitation. -

Best decision ever!
Working with Makayla from The Autumn Dog Studio is one of THE BEST decisions we made for our wedding! Makayla's warmth and humanity was felt from the moment we visited her website all the way through to our wedding day and beyond. We had met with another photographer and were left feeling as if something were missing. It wasn't until The Autumn Dog Studio was recommended to us and we had the chance to meet with Makayla that we were truly excited and energized for this aspect of our wedding. We bragged about what a talented and cool photographer we were going to have at our wedding and she did not disappoint! Our guests all raved about how kind, fun, and flexible our photographer was and how beautiful and perfect the photos turned out. Makayla took time to ask us thoughtful questions about ourselves and loved ones so she would be able to capture our day in the perfect and genuine way for us. I am so thankful I chose Makayla at Autumn Dog Studios to capture my wedding. She truly captured every moment ! Absolutely perfect
It's truly impossible to put our experience with Makayla into words but I'll do my best. She was hands down the best decision we made during our wedding-planning process. Just from viewing her website you can tell she has an amazing gift at capturing candid moments. And then you meet her! To know her is to love her. She's a wonderful person with a very calming presence, I was so happy to have her around on our wedding day. She is kind, genuine, and whole-heartedly cares about her clients. She was incredibly helpful throughout the entire process while going above and beyond with thoughtful gifts, check-ins, questionaries, and more. She was everywhere on our wedding day and yet I never noticed where she was unless I was actively looking for her to chat and laugh with her. When looking at all of the photos, it feels like reliving the day all over again. Every single photo taken was a beautiful moment in time - exactly how it happened, exactly how it looked, and exactly how it felt. Michaela Sent on 11/03/2017Absolutely LOVE Makayla and her passion for photography. Makayla took our engagement pictures in October, and they are absolutely stunning! Less than one week after we took our photos, she emailed me the online link to our gallery.
Makayla has been beyond flexible with scheduling shoots and payments. She creates such a fun and relaxing atmosphere when taking pictures; she makes it feel natural and the silly games she has us play really bring us all closer together. We will definitely be scheduling another engagement session in the near future!

Obsessed with the experience and the photos!
Makayla is perfect at what she does. She rolls with the punches, somehow manages to be everywhere but never feels intrusive, makes you feel comfortable, and provides an experience that just exudes casual luxury and care; and she delivers top notch pictures. Her style is to capture your day as it happens - even when it gets messy or sad or downright hilarious. We did a quick set of photos with family and wedding party, but then let the rest of the day buck. We trusted her immediately upon our first video call (heck, probably as soon as we looked over her website) and that trust proved to be well founded. We are absolutely obsessed with all of the pictures and all of the personal touches Makayla included on the journey to our wedding day. Hiring The Autumn Dog Studio was the easiest decision we made while planning our wedding. The experience was also so incredibly personalized with a welcome package (full of thoughtful and high quality items), notes in the mail, and an in person photo reveal party. It was so unlike anything we could have expected. -
