Cake went beyond our expectations!

Craig’s Cakes did an amazing job creating our wedding cake and went above and beyond our expectations! We wanted to include figurines of two animals. We sent photos of what we were looking for and Craig’s Cakes hit it out of the park! Our jaws dropped when we saw how accurate the figurines were and how every little detail was accounted for. Our guests commented on how great the cake tasted and we didn’t have any left at the end of the night. The cake was extremely fresh and moist and the frosting was to die for. The cake was one of our most favorite details of the day and we definitely plan to purchase more cakes from Craig’s Cakes in the future!

Delicious and Beautiful

I hired Craig's Cake shop to make the cakes for my daughter's wedding. We had three different flavors and they were all delicious.
The staff at Craig's communicated well with me, with my daughter and with the florist who provided the flowers for the cake decoration.
Excellent servuce and yummy cakes!!!

Delicious and Beautiful

Our desserts were truly incredible. The cupcakes we had were all delicious and looked beautiful! Our wedding cake was even more beautiful than we could have imagined. Craig’s was so helpful throughout the tasting/flavor choice process, and was great through the design decision making. Our cake was the perfect touch to our day! Thank you, Craig’s!!

Let Craig’s design your cake!

Elisa and Craig’s cake shop is the best!! I sent pictures of our invites and color scheme, and she along with simply glamorous designs made our dream cake! It was such a fun surprise not knowing what the cake would look like and seeing how beautifully it turned out. What wonderful designers! They even took the wax seal from our invites and put it on the cake! Not to mention how tasty all the cake and cupcakes were, especially the carrot! Beyond happy with Craig’s cake shop!

Crain/Fedenia Wedding Cake review

We hired Craigs Cake Shop for our 4-tier wedding cake on August 28, 2021. Our cake was simple but so elegant and beautiful and came out just as I imagined. Our guests raved about how delicious the cake was, and so moist/not dry AT ALL. The we did 4 flavors in our cake, lemon-poppyseed with lemon mousse and blueberry curd (my personal favorite), pumpkin with cheesecake mousse, and the bottom tier was a split tier with chocolate and chocolate mousse and vanilla with cheesecake mousse with a layer of raspberry jam in the center (so so good). Craig's was very responsive and professional throughout the wedding planning process, and the price was very reasonable. You also get an included anniversary cake on 1 year anniversary! I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for their wedding cake vendor! Thank you so much again!

Looks and tastes great!

Craig's Cake Shop made the cake for our wedding in August 2021. I heard from many guests how great the cake was. We had a chocolate cake with peanut butter mousse and the guests loved it. There was a mix up with our florist and the cake flowers, but Craig's improvised, clipped some extra greens from our head table, added a few flowers and it looked exactly how we wanted. They truly went above and beyond and I would highly recommend them!

Delicious cake

Our wedding cakes were delicious!! Everyone loved them, and we were able to have multiple flavor combinations from all of the sheet cakes. We found a design we loved on Pinterest, and they were able to make our cake look even better than the pictures. We are so excited to have another fresh cake for our first anniversary!!

Best of the Best

Craig’s Cake Shop is near and dear to our hearts! When we got engaged I immediately knew where we wanted our cake from! We were elated when we found out that Elisa decided to purchase the shop! With the help of Rhonda (previous owner and family) the two of them and the staff at Craig’s knocked it out of the park! So amazing to work with and the cake was phenomenal (as usual)! You won’t be disappointed if you book Craig’s for your big day!! Wish we had pictures back from our photographer but will definitely post when we do! It was so beautiful!

I recently was married, and chose to have cake made by Craig's Cake Shop at my wedding. It was a phenomenal hit with everyone there! We went with a chocolate cake with cheesecake filling, and a white fondant coating with blue flowers swirling in an ombre heart-shaped design to the center. I really did not know fondant could taste so good! I definitely will need to try their signature frosting sometime too though (it is a buttercream that has white chocolate shavings in it).

Craig’s Cakes provided the cake for our wedding on October 28, 2017, and we were very happy with the cake and the excellent service! Even though we contacted them a little late in the planning process, we are so appreciative that they made room for us in their busy schedule! From the cake tasting (awesome), to the day-of execution, Rhonda and her team were great to work with. During the initial selection process, Rhonda was very helpful in explaining the various options and making sure we got exactly what we wanted. They even went a step beyond by working with us to carry out a “ribbon pull” tradition. The cakes were all delicious, and the coordination with the reception venue, florist, etc. all came off smoothly. Would definitely recommend!

Craig’s cake shop is a bit outside of madison, but for us the drive was worth it! The cake tasting appointment was delicious with incredible variety, and they worked with us to find an option that fit our budget perfectly! We ended up with a beautiful cake for cutting, plus multiple flavors of sheet cake for guests, way under our expected budget. Highly recommended!

We used Craig's for our September 2017 wedding. We found Craig's to be much higher quality and more reasonably priced than many of the other bakeries in the greater Madison area. Rhonda and her team were great to work with and everything from the tasting, to the ordering to the delivery went smoothly. Cake and cupcakes were both delicious and looked amazing! We are looking forward to getting our anniversary cake in another year.

I was planning from halfway across the country and couldn't come in to do a tasting, so Craig's worked with us to prepare some home tasting plates and we had a family member pick them up for us.

Then the actual cake was even better, and beautiful! My husband couldn't believe how quickly I scarfed it down. A+, will definitely come to Craig's for other occasion cakes and can't wait for our anniversary cake!

When I first called to book an appointment they were all booked up for the days I wanted. I set a date to go and taste test without my fiancé. They called me when a spot opened for a day I originally wanted to go. I was so grateful. Everything we tasted was amazing and made it very hard to decide what we wanted. Their signature frosting with the shaved white chocolate was amazing. We ended up doing 5 different flavors of cake. We had so many compliments at our wedding on all the flavors of cake. A majority of our guests got seconds and even thirds. Craig's also gives you a cake on your first anniversary so you don't have to worry about freezing the top of the cake. Rhonda was great to work with and very helpful when it came to deciding things.

Craig's Cake Shop has amazing staff that greet you right when you walk in! My husband and I worked with Rhonda and she was awesome! She walked us through the whole process of wedding cakes and was very informative! She provided information that I wouldn't have even thought to ask. Not to mention when we were designing our wedding cake, they provided honest feedback. Rhonda let me know what would or wouldn't work for my venue. She genuinely cares about the satisfaction of the people she works with. Not only did my cake look gorgeous, but it tasted DIVINE. I had so many compliments from guests about how great the cake was! Craigs Cake was awesome to work with. They were very professional and responsive. Our wedding was outside on an extremely hot day and they were very helpful with their knowledge of how the temperature would affect the quality of the cake and frosting. We had to carefully plan for when it should be set up and how long it could remain outside before being served. They did a nice job of setting it up and putting on the flowers that I had purchased from the florist. The most important was how moist and delicious the cake was. Each layer had a different flavor cake. Be sure to contact them several months before the big day because they can only accommodate so many set ups on a particular day. The cake tasting was also a lot of fun.

Outstanding customer service. The owner and all the people who I worked with at the shop were very courteous and professional. They cared deeply about what I wanted and advised me accordingly. They guided me through the whole process and assisted to make any changes I wanted.

Firstly, the cake testing was organized, efficient, helpful, and fun. The advice on flavor combinations was exactly what we needed to make the best choices for our cake. Second, the time between the cake testing and wedding day was also organized and professional. Craig's Cakes kept in touch by email, which helped to keep our stress levels low. Thirdly, on the day of the wedding, we had no contact with Craig's Cakes. They took care of all of the coordinating with our reception vendor so that we didn't have to worry about that part to our wedding day--we trusted that Craig's Cakes would do their part, and they did it perfectly. When we arrived at the reception, our cake looked beautiful! Even more importantly, our cake tasted heavenly. It was moist and flavorful. Some of our guests had two pieces of cake! For about a week after the wedding, we enjoyed a piece of cake everyday (our cake maintained itself really well). Overall, Craig's Cakes can be fully relied on to provide a delicious cake to your exact specifications on your wedding day.

Hands down the best cake shop around. All of the flavors and combinations are amazing. We had the buttercream icing for our wedding cake which is delicious- exactly how buttercream should be! Their signature frosting is also great - light and airy. The staff is so nice and accommodating. I had a picture for the design inspiration and described how I wanted it to look. They completely understood and it was absolutely perfect.

We ordered our wedding cake from Craig's Cake Shop and it was beyond beautiful. It made such a statement in the room, we continue to receive so many compliments. I worked with Rhonda Matts and such a pleasure to work with. Rhonda is extremely professional and knowledgeable throughout the whole process and any questions we had she always responded promptly. We provided a photo example and a fabric swatch for the color, and it was exactly what we were looking for. Delicious cake, outstanding design and excellent service - we HIGHLY recommend Craig's Cake Shop for Wedding Cakes!

Craig's Cakes was easy to work with. You get to try all their cake flavors at your free tasting. The cake was gorgeous and really tasty. Everyone loved the flavors and fought over the extra slices (that we put out on a late night snack table).

My husband and I went to a couple cake tastings. Unfortunately for the other cake vendor, we went to Craig's Cakes first. And with every bite of the cake tasting, we knew how talented Craig's Cake was going to be. We wanted almond cake and they were so nice and willing to make that for our wedding cake. We had a custom design and it turned out to be gorgeous. We received a lot of compliments on our cake and all the variety of flavors we had.

Craig's Cake was the best! Rhonda was super helpful and responsive. I 100% trusted Craig's in what my cake would look and taste like. We had such a positive wedding experience with Craig's! From our initial phone call, cake testing, ordering a variety of specific flavors, our wedding day, and now our one year anniversary! Nothing but professional, friendly, organized, honest, helpful staff, and of course amazing cake! We drove from Appleton to pick up our miniature one year anniversary cake today! They definitely make the most delicious wedding cake in Madison, by far! And I love that they give you a cake on your 1st anniversary, so you don't have to save the top layer from your wedding cake. We needed a gluten-free option for some of our guests and a birthday cake for my sister who's birthday was on the day of, and they handled everything with ease.

My husband and I were so happy with our selection of Craig's Cakes for our wedding! We loved all of the cakes we tried at the tasting (even some of those that are a little bit more unconventional) and enjoyed being able to provide a variety of cakes for our guests. We loved their signature frosting (whipped with chocolate shavings) - though we weren't able to use it for our display cake as it doesn't allow as much in terms of coloring and designs, we used it on our sheet cakes in the back. The cake looked and tasted great at the wedding as well - we heard numerous positive reviews from our guests. He and I will both be looking forward to our anniversary cake next year :)

We have used Craig's Cakes at various events in the past - first communions, graduations, birthdays, and decided to use them for the wedding. They did not disappoint! We had three types of cake - chocolate with peanut butter mousse, orange with cream cheese mousse, and lemon with a strawberry mousse. All were delicious and moist! The wedding cake itself was 3 tiered and then we had additional sheet cakes to serve 220 people. Craig's doesn't bake gluten free cake but works with a bakery that provides gluten free cake. For a small fee, we ordered 6 gluten free cupcakes from the Sillyak Bakery and Craig's took care of picking those up and delivering them as well to the venue. I have two more daughters that will be married in the future and would return to Craig's to service their weddings again.

Craig's cakes made me a beautiful wedding cake exactly to my specification. They also made me the most amazing grooms cake in the likeness of my husband's beloved dog. With just a photo they were able to create a piece of art. My husband was very touched and our guests were very impressed. Craig's cakes are not just works of art, they also taste great. Craig's Cake Shop was fantastic! Our wedding was in Madison but my husband and I lived in Georgia while we were planning the wedding. Rhonda worked with us, was always pleasant and quick to respond to phone calls and emails. She even met with us and did a cake tasting over the holiday season, one of the few times we were back in the area. The cake was beautiful, arrived on time and certainly the taste exceeded all of our expectations! They coordinated the red details on the cake to dress swatches, and in our multi-layer cake, we had a flavor for everyone. Rhonda worked closely with our florist, and together they took care of so many details with delivery without having to ask. They truly went above and beyond, and I would highly recommend Craig's Cake Shop to any bride out there, or anyone looking for a delicious cake for a party.

We had our wedding cake designed and made by Craigs Cake Shop out of Verona and it was fantastic. The cake tasting was so much fun and I enjoyed every bite! They have a gigantic book of past cakes with tons of ideas, from simple elegant cakes to elaborate themed cakes. We went with a simple style with a touch of bling and it was perfect. I highly recommend their carrot cake with cream cheese filling! We also had their chocolate cake with chocolate mousse and raspberry filling and the vanilla cake with cheesecake mouse and raspberry filling. All the flavors and combinations are delightful!

We chose to go with Craig's Cake Shop after trying a few other vendors in the Madison area and we were not disappointed! I went in to Craig's with drawings and photos of different cakes, wanting a little bit of everything and the team at Craig's made it happen. Our cake turned out beautifully and just as I had imagined. It was delicious, as all Craig's cakes are and there wasn't a single slice left! (Which is just fine because for your one year anniversary, they give you a free small cake of your choosing, so no saving the top in the freezer!) We would recommend Craig's for any occasion!

We had our reception in Mineral Point and no one felt comfortable picking it up for us and delivering it safely. Craig's dropped it off and made sure that it was going to stay perfect all day until we could cut it. They let us build our dream cake and make it just how we imagined it. It's hard to find a cake place that respects you're wishes as well, but Craig's did! I was so impressed by the price, the quality, and if we had a question they got back to us right away. We are definitely counting down the months to our free one year anniversary cake! I highly recommend the peach cake with a raspberry mousse it's DELICIOUS!!!!

Delicious cake!! It's really the most delicious wedding cake I've ever had. It's moist and decadent. They are also very flexible on styles that you want. Also, they use buttercream frosting (not fondant) so it tastes better but they make it look soooo smooth it looks as pretty as fondant.

We met with several vendors in the Madison area for our wedding cake and Craig's Cake Shop blew the rest of them out of the water. When we did the taste testing, there were so many delicious flavors of cake and fillings to choose from and the buttercream frosting was absolutely outstanding. They were so easy to work with, which we especially appreciated because we live in another state and had to do most of the planning via email. They even made a practice cake with the design concept a month or two in advance, so we were easily able to see the actual design ahead of time and make any changes before the big day.

On the wedding day, our cake arrived on time and in perfect condition and it was so delicious! All of our guests commented on how fantastic it looked and tasted.

Throughout our honeymoon, my husband kept talking about how much he loved the cake and when we walked in the door when we arrived back home after our honeymoon, he barely set his bags down before immediately grabbing the rest of the leftover cake. That's how delicious it was! I would absolutely recommend Craig's Cake Shop and look forward to working with them again in the future.

Craig's Cakes' work was phenomenal. At the free tasting, my husband and I were able to sample every single type of cake, mousse, and filling they had, and so we mixed and matched the best possible combo for a three tiered cake we were really excited about. In addition to being incredibly delicious, the cake also looked stunning, with decorative detail that perfectly matched our wedding colors. Many guests told me it was the best wedding cake they'd ever had, and I wholeheartedly agree.

Craig's Cake Shop made the process of picking a wedding cake so easy and fun! Craig's was easy to work with (even when our numbers changed), prompt with responses, and makes such delicious cakes. Ultimately, we went with Craig's because of their frosting - it isn't super sweet, which means I enjoyed eating it! This means that decorations aren't as flexible, but with some ribbon and some fresh flowers from our florist, the cake was beautiful and delicious. I would recommend Craig's to anyone having a wedding in the Madison area.

Out of the whole wedding planning process, the cake tasting was the most pleasant experience to date. I went with flavor combinations I already had written off before tasting them. My 2 different cake flavors were peach cake with a cheesecake mousse and strawberry cake with a key lime mousse. My guest raved about the cake too! The freshness was everything I hoped it to be. We were so happy with Craig's Cakes! Very glad that we chose them. Delicious! If you don't book them after their sampler plate of cakes-you must not be a cake fan! They were great and designed a cake that fit right in with our polka dot themed wedding. Taste testing went great - a lot of options and were helpful in recommending combinations. Made an AWESOME grooms cake, I sent them a picture of my husband's pulling tractor and they made a 3D replica of it - right down to the smoke stack, roll cage and fuel tanks on the front! He was so surprised and was super happy with it too!

We absolutely loved our wedding cake from Craig’s Cake Shop! We went to several different cake tastings and met with many different vendors, and without a doubt Craig’s was the most delicious and had the best value. They are amazingly flexible (in the last few weeks before our wedding, our guest count changed drastically and they reduced our original order without any issues and also made additional suggestions – it was perfect!) and very professional. I had worked with Craig's before for a baby shower so I knew the value we were going to get with our wedding cake, but Craig's exceeded my expectations. Rhonda was great to work with when trying to bring my vision to life - she was readily available to bounce ideas off of and let me know what would work or what I should change to make it reasonable. In terms of value, we didn't taste anywhere other than Craig's because of their reviews and our previous experience but the price was very very reasonable, especially for the quality of service you receive. They went above and beyond to make sure our cake was perfect- even adjusting delivery time the day of due to the heat wave!

Hands down the best cake in the Madison area. We tried a lot of places but none could meet the quality and flavor of Craig's. My groom and I have a difference of opinion on frosting... he likes butter cream and I like whipped. Craig's was able to do alternating tiers of each and make it look classic and beautiful. The cake was so moist and flavorful and there were so many different flavors and fillings to choose from. The whipped frosting with white chocolate shavings was our favorite! I had several guests ask who made our cake and some of our friends were so impressed with the cake that they decided to go with a Craig's Cake for their wedding as well! The only problem? My husband and I had absolutely no doubts when choosing Craig's Cake Shop to make our wedding cake. The flavors are amazing, their work is absolutely stunning and Rhonda is a joy to work with. Our cake was perfect, and everyone loved it! In fact, our family and friends are still raving about the cake!

When it came time to plan a surprise Groom's cake, there was no question that would be through Craig's as well. Rhonda was very flexible and accommodating, not to mention patient as I tried to narrow down the hundreds of ideas to a final vision. My husband was thrilled with the cake and it will be a memorable addition to our special day.

We can't wait to get another cake from them, and now they offer Red Velvet too! We've found our cake place, and will never go elsewhere.

They had the knobs, strings, name, I mean everything. Best value and the cake tasted great. Great service I always walked away laughing and smiling after meeting with everyone in the shop. I now get all my cakes for all events from them and my family does as well. Oh and the Anni. cake is going to be a great treat on our one year!

Craig's cakes are the absolute BEST. They are yummy and a great variety of flavors. Craig even did a flourless chocolate cake for me, because I have gluten sensitivity. While our venue kindof messed up serving the cake and didnt serve the topper cake (which doesnt get frozen, because Craig will just make you a new one at your 1 year anniversary), none of that was Craig's fault! the cake was amazing and Id highly recommend his super delicious cakes to anyone lucky enough to get in on his very tight schedule!

Our wedding cake rocked!! We loved working with Craig's! They were so flexible with us during the planning, especially since we are from out of state. Having come highly recommended, I am so happy that we chose them. The cake was exactly what we wanted and it looked great! More importantly, our guests LOVED all the flavors we chose (and they were still eating it the next day)! I would highly recommend Craig's Cake Shop for your wedding or any other occasion!!

I can't praise Craig's Cake Shop enough! I love this place! The cake is heavenly and the best I've EVER had, and the selection is incredible... We had so much fun designing the flavor layout of our wedding cake... there are just so many possibilities and they are all sooooo good! Craig himself is so fun, funny, and charismatic... We enjoyed working with him so much (and love the cake so much) that we have gone back several times to purchase cakes for other celebrations. The prices are really good for that quality of product and service, and the deposit that we paid for the cake parts was completely refunded when we returned them after the wedding. Also, because Craig believes that wedding cake is best fresh, we didn't have to worry about freezing the anniversary topper cake (although we could have). Instead, Craig says that the groom has to call the week before the one year anniversary, and he'll make a fresh replication of the topper cake you had at the wedding! We've already hit the one year mark, and I'm happy to say, we enjoyed our free one year anniversary cake from Craig. Hands down the best in the business!

Craig is amazing - his cakes are amazing - This is the first time I have used him - but his cakes have long been a tradition for my inlaws - he was not only the least expensive cakes we found in Dane County (Madison Area) his were also THE BEST tasting - my husband actually refused to go anywhere else. I cannot tell you how wonderful he and his business is. The cake was beautiful and we fed over 300.00 for less than 500.00 - I will never go anywhere else - and its great because wedding cakes are just the start - he does everything!

Beautiful, delicious cakes. The hardest part was choosing what flavors (I recommend lemon poppy seed and raspberry!) Craig is very friendly and helpful when choosing flavors and getting to know his customers. I work at wedding receptions and have tasted many wedding cakes. Nothing ever compares to Craig's!

Their cakes are soooo good. Craig's offers some of the best variety, and will go out of their way to give you exactly the kind of cake you want. They even sent me their supplier's website so I could pick out exactly which icing flowers I wanted on the top.

They made the cake one of the easiest parts of the wedding - we sampled the cake one day, emailed them with the flavors we picked, and spent about 15 minutes figuring out what we wanted the cake to look like. They handled the rest of it, right up until the time we showed up at the reception site and there was a beautiful cake there waiting for us.

Craig was amazing! He let my now husband and I, as well as both of our moms come in for a taste test of all the variations of cakes that he could prepare for our wedding cake. He gave us his full attention when we described how we wanted our cake display arranged. He took notes and was very responsive. My husband and I had an outdoor wedding in August. It was kind of buggy at the place we held the reception. Craig came prepared! He came early to the reception location, set up the cakes just like we described and took the liberty of setting up a net around the cakes so no one or no bug could get close to that delicious cake. I would definitely suggest going to Craig's Cake Shop for your wedding cake. Not only is the cake delicious, but the service Craig provides is fantastic!

Craig's Cake Shop was one of the only places that would deliver the cake to our Sunday wedding. Not only that, but Craig was so pleasant and easy to work with. We got exactly what we wanted on the cake, and it was delicious! Craig's Cake Shop also gives you a free cake on your first anniversary, so you don't need to store the top layer of your cake for a whole year to have wedding cake on your first anniversary!

We ordered cakes for our wedding and they were amazing! The signature frosting is like nothing I've ever had. We stopped in to the cake shop for a sample plate because we were from out of town and couldn't make an official appointment. They have sample plates already made up and frozen which was a relief, because I really wanted to try the cake before ordering. The carrot and red velvet cakes with cream cheese filling and signature frosting were our favorites, but they have lots of other good flavors. We did business over the phone and mail without any problems. I printed a picture from the internet as an example of the setup I wanted for the cake, and they did an amazing job replicating it. I loved everything about Craig's Cakes. I can't wait for our 1-year anniversary to stop in and get another cake!

We had Craig´s Cake for our wedding and we loved it. It looked and tasted amazing! My husband doesn t like fondant at all. I was worried how a wedding cake could look good with butter cream frosting. But it was amazing. So smooth and perfect, it looked like fondant. The service was great. Rhonda was always super friendly and helpful when we called and the email response was quick. Rhonda sent us a swatch for the ribbons we wanted to use and made sure we got exactly what we wanted. We changed some of the design details last minute and it was no problem. Everything was exactly how we wanted it. We loved everything about our cake and would choose Craig´s again!
