Review of Peter James
My wife and I worked with Peter James of Couture Events for the flowers and decor at our recent wedding. We originally met Peter James early on in our wedding planning at our caterer’s tasting where he was gracious enough to invite us to sit with him (as well as recommend several different wedding services to us which we ended up using and loving). From our first meeting with him, he put our minds at ease and made the whole process as easy as possible for us. As someone who knows nothing about flowers, I was able to point to one picture and from that he was able to create the most beautiful bouquets and flower arrangements that were absolutely perfect for us and everything I never knew I wanted. When we finally saw our venue the day of our wedding everything looked stunning. He was even able to incorporate a few odds and ends of our own flawlessly into his design of the venue. Overall, I would encourage anyone to use Peter James while planning an event; he is a true professional, a delight to work with, and has become a good friend. -

Best Wedding Coordinator/ Planner - Period
We HIGHLY recommend Peter and his creative team at Couture Events of New Jersey in making your vision a reality. Not only did Peter respond almost immediately to texts, calls and emails during the 7 month planning process, but Jim and Peter also met us multiple times at our 2 venues - hours away from their home base. They also recommended the most amazing make-up artist and helped find a hair stylist at the last minute when ours backed out. On the day of the wedding, we trusted Peter's ability to ensure everything was perfect, so we left our cell phones in our room to enjoy the day without a concern. From our eyes, everything was flawless - no easy task as we booked 2 venues, including a yacht with prompt boarding / debarking times. In the end, our guests described our wedding as: "epic" and "out of a magazine" - to which we agree!!! THANK YOU PETER, JIM and COUTURE EVENTS OF NEW JERSEY!!! -

Peter James went above and beyond for our wedding! I had an abstract idea of what I wanted and he was basically able to extract it from my brain (even when it was difficult for me to articulate at times) and transform it into reality! Needless to say, we absolutely loved our floral arrangements for both our wedding and for my bridal shower. Not only was his artistry fantastic, but Peter was also a true pleasure to work with. He’s personable and funny and it shows that he’s genuinely passionate about what he does. He was responsive with our communications and mobilized fast for last minute edits. He makes you feel like he’s got it all under control (which is comforting for any bride to be). I would recommend Peter James and Couture Events of NJ without reservation and can personally say that I plan to seek his services for future events! -

Summer wedding
Peter James did a wonderful job with our wedding! The flowers were perfect and exactly what we needed and just in our budget! I had no idea what to select and Peter put my mind at ease and created beautiful arrangements! Thank you adding a special touch to our wedding and also to my bridal shower. Fantastic planning services!
Peter and Jim were both absolutely amazing leading up to and on the day of our wedding. Peter was very good about keeping me on track with my planning and always helpful and quick when responding to my questions and concerns. On the day of, both were in constant communication with each other and our vendors while making sure that our day was exactly what we dreamed of. They truly were a huge reason why our day turned out to be exactly what we had hoped for. Thank you both! -

Peter from Couture Events was amazing! One phrase comes to mind when I think of Couture Events and that’s “peace of mind.” My husband and I first met Peter at a wedding expo, he was very nice and knowledgeable, and we immediately liked him. We made an appointment with him that very week to discuss everything in a little more detail. At first I had no clue what kind of flowers I wanted for my wedding, so when we sat down with him I told him what my wedding colors were and from that point forward, he blew us away. He planned everything from start to finish and while he always sought our approval, the man knows what he’s doing, we rarely went against his advice, and I’m thankful for that. The flowers and center pieces were absolutely stunning! My favorite color is blue and he found me these incredible blue orchids that matched my bridesmaid’s dresses perfectly. I have never seen such beautiful flowers and while I did check out a few other florists prior to meeting with Peter, nobody showed us anything close to these. He themed those orchids into everything at our wedding: our centerpieces, all the bouquets, boutonnieres, alter pieces, and flowers for my hair. All my guests commented on how beautiful everything was. Based solely on the quality of his product, I’d recommend him to anyone. On top of that, Peter is just a GREAT guy to work with. He’s extremely flexible and he was a ray of sunshine the day of our wedding. He came to the hotel that my husband and I were staying at to drop off the flowers. He gave us words of encouragement, a much needed hug, and instructed the bridal party how to hold our flowers throughout the ceremony.
When we were at our venue taking pictures before the ceremony started, he was there helping set up the center pieces. Every once in a while I would catch him giving me a thumbs up or mouthing gorgeous or reminding me to bring my flowers lower, in a very funny way that you will only get to know if you work with him. We met with Peter the week before our wedding to ensure everything was in place and when we walked into his office, he had our centerpieces all set up, exactly as they will look on the day of our wedding. I can’t tell you how nice that was, it just put our minds at ease, “This guy is ready for our wedding, no need to worry here.” Here’s my advice to anyone planning a wedding: Choose the vendors that gives you peace of mind, the ones that you know will deliver on their promises on your big day. With that in mind, we highly recommend Couture Events! If we do any major events in the future, we will definitely be going to Peter again.

I met Peter at a bridal show as a newly engaged 26 year old, with no idea as to how much work and planning a wedding was going to be. After my first meeting with him I knew instantly he was a necessity to planning and was going to take so much work off my fiancé and I. Peter made the process simple by trying to simplify each vendor. He would tell us a little about each, choose his top two or three and set up all our meetings. This helped by not having too many options and getting overwhelmed. Early on in the process it was apparent Peter was more than just a planner, he truly was a friend to us. If we were out for many hours we would grab lunch and it always was a fun day when we were together.
Photography, DJ, and venue were all quickly picked. Whenever we were at a meeting Peter seemed to read my mind when I was unsure about something and asked all the questions we did not know to ask. This made choosing details and pricing easier. Peter also was my florist which he KILLED it with. My bouquet was beautiful and he also decorated the ceremony with beautiful lanterns, and a beautiful arch. Peter’s background was working in the floral industry before Couture Events so he is a pro there and has been dealing with events for years.
The week of the wedding the stress really kicked in and he made sure to call me and check if everything was going well for us. He even came to our rehearsal and made a surprise visit with a beautiful arrangement! When the wedding day finally came he was there bright and early with his team of assistants. They took care of every detail from bringing my homemade decorations, making sure groomsmen left on time, escorting grandmas in, and just being there for Tom, I and both our families. There is no price you can put on having someone like Peter for your wedding. Planning and getting ready for one of the biggest days of your life can be so overwhelming and when you have a set team of people to help you along the way, it really does help every detail come together. I can’t recommend Couture Events enough and am so thankful to you all for making my wedding everything I ever imagined. I love you guys! -

Absolutely Amazing
We found Couture Events at a Bridal show at the Berkeley Ocean Front in Asbury Park. I almost didn't go and we are so glad that I did. My husband and I had this vision for our December 1 st wedding of " Wintery sticks", I can only tell you the odd responses we received and obscure pricing when explaining our vision to other florists. We made our appointment to meet with Peter. We explained what we wanted and without blinking an eye our " wintery sticks" were imagined . The detail and time at that meeting helping us see our vision was amazing. My husband was having more fun picking out candles and led lights. In one meeting they created our centerpiece design, sweetheart table decor and table numbers and groomsmen flowers. The attention to detail, the patience with myself ( I am a pain in the ass) and honestly for all that they did the cost was well worth it and honestly surprisingly inexpensive for all they do. The greatest feeling is walking into our reception before all the guests and seeing the room they helped create with the center pieces. I can not say enough about how wonderful and amazing and talented they are at Couture Events. -

Rose Sent on 10/05/2018Peter from Couture Events was absolutely amazing! He was so accommodating to my needs. I had a very specific vision as far as colors and flowers and he was on point the whole time. He would challenge my ideas if he did not think it would look visually pleasing with the rest of the design for the wedding. I wanted peonies, however peonies were not available that time of year, but he found a very similar looking flower that would give me the look I was going for! Everything turned out absolutely amazing! I could not recommend Couture Events higher!

He brought our vision of a romantic fairytale wedding to life. He exceeded all our expectations with his floral art throughout the ceremony and reception site. Our guests and the venue are still talking about how amazing everything looked! Peter was a pleasure to work with. I would not hesitate to recommend him!

During our consultation Peter was very friendly and very helpful with making various suggestions regarding the types and colors of flowers, that he thought would work well with our theme. Peter was also very accommodating with a couple of last-minute add-ons that we had requested.
My bridal bouquet was more beautiful than anything I ever could have imagined, and I couldn’t have been happier with the way that it turned out. The colors that Peter had suggested for the bridesmaid’s bouqets looked absolutely stunning and popped against the color of their dresses. All of the additional floral arrangements that they provided, including boutineers, a birch arch with orchids, and table arrangements, along with the paper lanterns were just as stunning. Peter and his team are truly talented and passionate about the work that they do and it really shows. Everything truly looked amazing and we can’t thank them enough for all of the wonderful work that they did to make our wedding day so much more special! -

They were totally professional and a genuine pleasure to work with!!! They not only anticipated our needs, but offered excellent advise and service every step of the way!!! I highly recommend this team of professionals to anyone that wants their wedding to be the ultimate experience!!! Their gorgeous flowers, table settings and sweetheart table decoration/arrangements were the talk of the wedding!!!! We were 100% satisfied!!!

Dana Sent on 11/11/2017At the time we spoke to Peter James, we weren’t even sure where we would be doing our ceremony. We were still looking for a space in Asbury Park that could work. A knowledgeable local, he was actually the one to recommend a local park on a lake that we didn’t even know existed - and even went out that same day to snap photos for us.
Likely the first to get married in that park, Peter effortlessly helped us design the floral and decor that would make it unforgettable. He quickly understood our aesthetic and knew exactly what to do. He’s also well connected locally and got us great pricing on tent and other rentals. He made something that could have been complicated incredibly simple and his confidence and calm in the process is reassuring.
I couldn’t have been happier with how our flowers turned out, I was gazing at my bouquet for days after my ceremony. It was exactly what I had described to Peter. Look no further than Peter’s service for your own wedding. -

Peter & his staff were available to me via email the entire time I was planning my event! They answered me promptly & wisely. Peter helped me figure out what was worth my money & what wasn't. Do not hesitate to hire this fantastic team! The are professional, knowledgeable & hysterically funny to boot.
Peter also did my floral arrangements, which were gorgeous. -

Kristen Sent on 05/31/2016My husband and I met Peter at a bridal show and it was the best thing that could have ever happened to us. Our wedding was on mothers day weekend and most florists wouldn't even talk to us after they heard what weekend our wedding fell on. Peter was beyond helpful and took our worries away after speaking with him. He told us that we had nothing to worry about if we decided to go with him, that he would be able to do our flowers for our wedding and they would look absolutely amazing. Well, he was right. I cannot say enough about my bouquet alone and we had flower rings made to go around a lantern for our centerpieces that were just stunning. The flowers never wilted all night even until the next day, they still looked beautiful. Delivery of the flowers was quick, on time and everything was spot on with not one piece missing. I would highly recommend this florist for anyone's wedding. They were the best.
