We’re disappointed in the low rating as we strive to provide quality customer service and professionalism. Yes, we do rent additional props and are very reasonably priced as we provide a 50% to 60% discount to our clients compared to outside vendors. Our Saturday brides rental begins on Friday at noon and take down is midnight on Saturday, which is stated in our contract. However, we are flexible and allowed this bride to arrive on Thursday to begin setting up for her event. We provided over 48 hours of rental time. As mentioned in our contract, “take down” is by midnight on Saturday, we often recommend brides to hire a planner/day of coordinator to alleviate issues such as clients not being able to meet the “take down” deadline. As offered by Cousiac Manor, we provided “take down” and clean up service for this event. The client was requested to remove personal items by midnight by Saturday.

We are so disappointed to see such a low rating for our venue. We pride ourselves on meeting the needs of each special bride that shares their day with us. We corresponded by email with this bride over 65 times and those responses were made within 24 hours. There are times when clients lack respect for the property and do not follow rules. When we arrived the day after this wedding some of the obligations that are required to rent the venue were not met by this bride; i.e. sticky spills left on the floor, trash left over night,
cake/food left overnight, cigarettes butts in barn where smoking is prohibited. I contacted the bride the next day and no response. The wedding planner did contact us and mention that the "take down" help did not carry out their responsibilities. Cousiac has been in our family for over 65 years, it's legacy and heritage is dear to our hearts and we have been blessed by its beauty. Our goal is to preserve it's beauty with integrity, respect and share with others.

If no pictures have posted of any particular wedding party, it is because we have not been provided photographs from the client or photographer. We are proud to post all of our celebrations. Our contract provides rental through Saturday evening until midnight and Sunday pick up if no Sunday wedding is planned. Unfortunately, some brides have many “take down” people and their items may not be accounted for when packaged/stored. Cousiac Manor is not responsible for personal items, which is stated in the contract. We do not provide a climate controlled reception hall, other than our bridal suite, kitchen, and bathroom. During cool months, Cousiac Manor provides heaters for the client. All of these concerns are addressed at the time of the client’s tour. We do offer props for events that are heavily discounted for an additional price. However, it is optional. There are no additional costs other than the rental for the venue, which includes tables, chairs, facility, ceremony site, parking, etc. As owners, we pride ourselves on being flexible, reasonable, and provide quality customer service. Unfortunately, there are clients who lack respect and disregard guidelines in our contract. Those guidelines are provided to ensure the beauty and integrity of our property. There are occasions when Cousiac’s cleaning crew arrives and the facility has been abused. Cousiac Manor has been in our family for over 65 years and we cherish and respect it. Cousiac Manor has proudly hosted thousands of beautiful wedding/events over the years. All of Mrs. Leach’s emails were answered with a sensible 24-36 hour response.
Cousiac Manor offers an affordable package and an optional, affordable cleaning fee of $400. Or, our contract allows clients the option to take down/clean themselves to appeal to the budget friendly client. It is unfortunate that you opted not to use the affordable cleaning service that Cousiac Manor offers. The optional cleaning is shared with clients upon signing the contract and can be decided up until the event. In this case, Mrs. Leach had over a year to determine logistics of take down/cleaning of the space. The rentals are completely optional and not required to be used. Clients are able to bring in their own decorations and rentals if they choose.
The CM manager arrived at noon (which is the check-out time) to inspect the premises to find the space not within the contractual obligations (not cleaned) by the licensee. The CM manager then followed up at 2:45 pm to find Mrs. Leach’s 76-year-old grandmother left with the responsibilities of cleaning the venue. She was overwhelmed, frustrated and completely irrational. The CM managers requested that the chairs be properly stacked according to the closing checklist that was signed by the client. The client’s grandmother became hostile when asked to fix the chairs. Her unreceptive attitude further escalated when questioned about being on the premises after the contractual check out time of 12pm. She proceeded to flap her hands in the managers’ faces telling them to leave. She demanded her damage deposit be refunded immediately and if we didn’t give it to her, she was writing a bad review. The damage deposit was returned to the bride within the allotted time. Cousiac Manor encourages clients to be cognoscente of the required planning/logistics including the “take down” for a smooth departure.

Cousiac Manor is disappointed when false information is left as a review. First, the owners have owned and operated businesses for 35 years and pride themselves on being fair, going above and beyond, and being reasonable when situations arise.

According to our communication records, this bride was responded too within 2 minutes to 24 hours of any correspondence from her, which is very reasonable.

All of our brides that were affected by the mandatory COVID restrictions were allowed to move their dates at no additional costs. At two different occasions, the client was provided with more that 20 new dates to choose from. We also allowed this bride to keep her original date if circumstances changed at no additional charge. So she was allowed to hold two dates if she chose.

According to the Cousiac Manor contract, brides were not allowed to move date that were not in the COVID mandate. The CM contract as with many venues require all fees due and no cancellations. However, we did not require this bride to pay her remaining balance on May 28th.. Also per our contract, the client was to pay her 2nd payment of the balance on March 8th, which was not received.

This bride was concerned about out of state guest attending which is beyond Cousiac Manor control of where guests are arriving from to attend, no matter the circumstances. Cousiac Manor has been more than helpful and spent many hours helping our brides move dates to make their day work even when their other vendors were not so accommodating.

The pandemic has caused hardship on many people. Cousaic Manor would appreciate if the truth is posted in reviews. This is a false review.
