It was such a joy to work with Courtney - for people who don't love having their pictures taken, Courtney made us comfortable and made the process easy!! We are so pleased with our wedding photos and will cherish them always. Courtney caught all the moments - big and small. On top of amazing photos of ourselves and the wedding party, Courtney also got great photos of our guests that we can't wait to share! We absolutely recommend Courtney Hanson Photography to anyone getting married in DFW (or elsewhere, really!) -

My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Courtney Hanson Photography on the most important day of our lives - our wedding!
Prior to contracting with Courtney, I had a few conversations with other photographers. I was feeling overwhelmed by the pressure of needing to lock in a photographer early but also wanting to ensure that we identified the team that would make us feel comfortable in front of the camera. In speaking with other photographers the conversations felt really transactional - but when I first met Courtney I immediately felt like I was talking with someone that I have known for many years.
Courtney’s portfolio demonstrates her outstanding ability at capturing the beauty in each moment. Her team was very professional and each and every person we had the opportunity to work with were very personable and attentive.
My husband and I are both generally camera shy - but Courtney and her team were able to help us overcome that and coached us through our portraits in a way that allowed for our personalities to shine through to the photos.
We could not have asked for a better Photographer for our wedding and would highly recommend this team to anyone looking for a wedding or special events photographer! -

Courtney and her team are absolutely amazing! I had the pleasure of watching her capture the memories of one of my friends before hiring her for my own wedding. She is incredibly detailed, helpful at every turn and a sense of calm on a not so calm day. She handles anything that is thrown at her; demanding family members, toddlers throwing tantrums, last minute changes to schedules. Absolutely no disappointments with Courtney, you can’t go wrong! -

I can not say enough amazing things about Courtney Hanson and her team. I was drawn to Courtney's photos as she is extremely talented and is remarkable in candid moments and classic black and whites which I love! We had a consultation with her and she was personable, knowledgable and helpful as we shared our vision for the big day. When we met her for the first time for our engagement pictures she put us at ease immediately. She made the experience so fun by taking a genuine interest in us and our relationship which lead to engagement pictures I couldn't be happier with. As we approached the big day, she was quick to respond to questions when I had them and assisted in timelines for the day and random questions that I had. While I knew at this point I had made the right decision hiring her, it was something that happened a month before my wedding that truly blew me away. I had issues with my venue just 4 weeks before the big day where circumstances lead to us not being able to use the space we had planned. Courtney saw in a local wedding industry facebook group that the venue was no longer available for weddings and she texted me right away (on a Friday at 10pm no less) to make sure I was ok, ask how she could help and assure me that she and her Dallas wedding industry friends would make this day the day I dreamed regardless of the hurdle. She put me at ease at a time where I was very stressed, going well beyond her photographer duties. The day of the wedding she showed up early with her team, worked quickly and almost invisibly, (I don't even recall noticing her and her team the entire night). When we got the pictures back (2 weeks before the deadline!!) I was again floored by her natural photographer eye, soft classic images and her ability to capture the emotions of the evening during every wedding tradition. She was far and away the most thoughtful, talented, reliable and professional vendor we hired for our wedding, I recommend booking her right away! -

In rain or sunshine!
We were so pleased with both our engagement session and our wedding day photography. For someone who hates taking pictures, I was surprised to have so many pictures that I liked. We did our engagement shoot at the Dallas Arboretum and at Arlington Hall and Courtney made us feel so relaxed and natural. Even when we started giggling from nerves, she kept snapping and those were some of the best pictures! We got married at the White Sparrow Barn and we were so lucky that the rain held off all day… until right in the middle of our vows. I would guess most brides would get upset about this, I for sure did. She caught the moment of me almost losing it- on the verge of hysterically crying because all of our wedding guests were getting SOAKED- and the moment immediately following when I looked up to my husband and realized that the only thing in that moment that mattered was me and him. I swear all of these emotions translated through her film! It is truly amazing. And again, she kept snapping, risking her equipment in the rain, and got some of the most magical rain snapshots. However, due to the rain, we didn’t get the normal 30 minute post ceremony photo shoot, but Courtney made the most of it- moving us around to parts of the barn that would be the most optimal for our bride and groom pictures. Courtney is professional, talented, sweet, and patient. I can’t wait to use her again for another life event! -

Courtney is an AMAZING photographer. Not only does she take the most beautiful photos, but she made our wedding day stress free and fabulous. We first met her for our engagement shoot, and she made us so comfortable, and really captured the love we have for each other in the photos. She is prompt, available, and so sweet! You will not regret having her photograph life’s memorable moments! -

Perfectly Captured Our Big Day
No review will do justice on just how wonderful Courtney is! From the very first consultation, I felt like her only bride and felt like I had her full attention. She always made me and my husband feel comfortable and even went out of the way to help my husband overcome being camera shy. Courtney’s professionalism helps your wedding day seem like a breeze. The photos we received back make me so happy. Courtney captured our day so perfectly, every time I look at the photos I’m taken back to the magic of that day. I will forever be grateful to have Courtney as our photographer. -

She was absolutely wonderful to work with and hands down the best vendor of all to communicate with during our wedding planning. From my first inquiry to our finished wedding photos, Courtney was very prompt, thorough and responsive in her communications with me. She also delivered the most stunning engagement, bridal, and wedding photos for my husband and I. Courtney was great at giving us enough direction in posing so that we still looked natural, but kept us from looking too cheesy or staged. During my bridal session, Courtney would spend time before every shot arranging my dress, veil, and posture in a way that would come across best on camera, which I greatly appreciated. She is truly detail oriented and focused on capturing every special moment. Our wedding photos are beautiful and I love how much she was able to capture not only my husband and I, but of all our friends and family enjoying the day. Photography was my #1 investment during wedding planning, and the return on this investment was truly priceless. Compared to other photographers during my long and extensive search, Courtney is reasonably priced for the packages that she offers and is willing to be only a email, call, or text away during the entire planning process. We feel like we hit the jackpot when we booked Courtney and wouldn't hesitate to recommend her to any engaged couple!

Elisha Sent on 04/30/2018This lady is beyond amazing! To be honest, I was not thrilled about planning a wedding nor was I the cliche bride of imagining my wedding since I was a young girl. When the hunt had to begin for a wedding photographer, I was not looking forward to it. My husband and I had a destination wedding in Riviera Maya, Mexico so there were also those stresses of planning a wedding from a different country. Courtney was very responsive and went above and beyond throughout the entire process. My husband and I both have divorced families, which was the BIGGEST stressor in itself. Courtney was able to relate and helped to ease our stress of that and give us her past experiences with shooting weddings with divorced families. Many of our guests stated they didn't even know she was there taking photos because she was so professional. Her work speaks for itself. We even had a groomsmen already book her for his Fall wedding. She was more than a wedding photographer--she was a saint for putting up with our "antics" in Mexico--and I wouldn't have changed a thing about our wedding photographer.

Courtney is so easy to work with, she made the whole process very easy. She is personable, lighthearted, and delivers. Timelines were well-defined and easily met. Angel Sent on 01/23/2018Courtney recently photographed my daughters wedding. Being a professional photographer myself the idea of letting go and letting someone else handle capturing our day was very hard to say the least. But I put my camera down and trusted that she would get it all... and she DID NOT DISAPPOINT! In fact she did such a great job I cannot even pick a top 20 favorite images! It's been a few months since the wedding and I still go back through and find moments that she captured that make me catch my breath. She's easy to work with, half the time I did not even know she was there in the moment. Definitely a fan of her and her work!

Morgan Sent on 02/12/2018Courtney was AMAZING! First off she was very organize, which is exactly what a bride needs when planning a wedding. She was flexible from the get-go when we were just talking to her about services and the different packages. She had great documentation on all of her services which helped me to understand what I would be getting. We would have scheduled calls at certain milestones leading up to the wedding which always made me feel like she cared about us and nothing was falling through the cracks.
During our engagement shoot I was pretty flustered for unrelated reasons and she was very patient and calm which helped me to relax and get some good shots. She is open to traveling which is a plus and opened up a lot of possibilities to working with her.
On the day of our wedding, we had an established schedule and her and her secondary shooter were on-time, patient, and offered direction when taking pictures. Over all we had a great experience with her, and the pictures came out amazing (like magazine amazing). I would highly recommend her services for anyone who wants an organized yet casual photographer to capture their special moments. -
