For something as important as my wedding I knew that I wanted custom invitations to set the mood. I worked with Megan to build my invitation suite and wedding day papers and she did an incredible job!! I was amazed at how she was able to figure out what I wanted when I didn't even really know myself. During our consultation she helped my and my husband explore different options and samples from their extensive portfolio, and when she showed us the final proof it was exactly what we had hoped for. And when we picked up the final product, I was blown away!!! The quality of the letterpress printing was outstanding! And they have a calligrapher in house the provided beautiful custom work for the design. Copper Willow does it all! I highly recommend their studio for gorgeous custom wedding papers. You won't be disappointed.

I can't describe in words how glad we are that we found Copper Willow to do our wedding invitations and all of our wedding paper goods. From the moment I walked in, Leora was friendly and very patient while I was brainstorming ideas. Then working with Jill and Megan throughout the design process was excellent too. They have such great ideas and the quality of their work is incredible. I know I can be a very particular person and they were patient with me the whole time. I loved my invitations so much and I was so happy that they were able to bring my ideas to life. It was so easy to communicate with everyone at CW over email. We could do pretty much all of the proofing and finalizing over email after just the first meeting. My invitations and paper goods were one of my favorite parts of my wedding, and I really owe it to Copper Willow. They are truly passionate about what they do, and I can't wait to order more paper goods from them in the future!

Finding Jill at Copper Willow was one of the best discoveries I've made in my three years of living in LA. As a small business owner, I wanted to support a small stationery store vs. going to a big name brand like Papyrus or William Arthur for our wedding paper needs. From our initial meeting to the final completion of our invitations, Jill was nothing but awesome to work with. She's super professional but also warm, friendly and enthusiastic about every element of the design creation. I keep getting compliments via email and text of people saying our wedding invitations are the most beautiful they've ever seen (and we are in our 30s so our friends have been to their fair share of weddings)! I hope our wedding day will be remembered for years, as these invites will be :) If you're looking for anything to be personalized --whether it's coasters or invites for a bday party -- don't look any further than Copper Willow.

It was a joy working with Jill at Copper Willow. She never said "no" - she figured out a way to make all of our visions a reality. She truly understood our style and tone and created collateral that fit our day perfectly and set the tone for our wedding.

Copper Willow made my wedding invitations and "day of" paper products, including programs, escort cards, and table numbers. All of the products were custom-made (using ideas from their extensive database) and I was thrilled with the results. It was much more afforable than I expected custom work to be. I worked with Jill and she was creative, knowledgeable, honest, and responsive. I was very pleased and would highly recommend Copper Willow for invitations and other paper products!

Thank you for taking care of my Wife and making her the happiest Bride. The invitations were only surpassed by the day of paper. Every detail was sheer excellence. Your professionalism and quality was evident throughout the process. Honestly I was skeptical in a day and age of online paper suppliers being so much cheaper. You are not the cheapest but you are the best. This is a situation on your wedding day where the saying "you get what you pay for" is not only true but worth the extra investment. Look no further if you want the highest quality paper supplier in the LA area.

I was satisfied with my invitations; however, if I could go back and do it again I would have chosen a different vendor. The communication with this vendor was very unpleasant. It came across that my business was a burden to her. If you have a huge budget to spend on invitations, you might get better service. Thankfully I was able to interact with her assistants at the end; both of whom were extremely pleasant.

Promising Aesthetic, Poor Execution and Accountability

Before beginning, I’d like to note that the prior positive reviews for this business appear to have been posted in 2018 or earlier. I believe this review reflects the experience of working with Copper Willow today.

We were referred to Copper Willow / Jill Velez by a friend whose invitations we loved and were excited to work with her. Throughout most of the engagement, we acted in good faith. However, repeated delays, communication gaps, and later interactions ultimately soured the experience and made it unnecessarily stressful and draining. I would not recommend Copper Willow to anyone who needs reliable timelines, proactive communication, or a low-stress planning experience.

Below is a timeline for context:

On April 18, we had an introductory call while Jill was driving. We agreed the project would be completed before July. During that call, I stated two non-negotiables — no tropical elements and no green-and-white palette — which were reiterated in a follow-up email and requisite mood board on May 6. On May 8, Jill stated we were “on her schedule this week.” Despite this, the first design did not arrive until May 26 and featured green-and-white palm imagery, directly contradicting what had been stated.

That same day, I provided detailed feedback and Jill requested a call. She did not respond until June 1, when she apologized and cited personal matters.

Version 2 arrived on June 6, but Jill required me to make all key design decisions rather than exercising design leadership. At her request, I created detailed mockups, purchased fonts, developed color palettes (including specific HEX codes), sourced flower imagery, shared explicit feedback in a google doc, and provided visual references to move the project forward; these were not implemented.

Version 3 arrived on June 17, followed by another delay and apology citing other weddings. Communication then stopped. After four unanswered follow-ups, Jill replied on June 29 saying she was on vacation and would respond upon returning, but no further response was received.

There was no further communication from Jill until July 24—over five weeks later—after my fiancé requested either progress or a refund. Jill approved a refund within three hours, which we appreciated, though we understood we were not contractually entitled to one. However, between October and December, four follow-ups requesting the agreed refund went unanswered. On December 3, Jill retracted the refund, stating the project was “left in limbo” because she was waiting on me to call, despite extensive written documentation showing continued outreach on our end.

Overall, this experience demonstrated a consistent pattern of missed commitments, delayed communication, and lack of professional accountability.
