Awesome Reception Venue!
My mom worked at Rock Garden and I used to help out at the restaurant on holidays when I was younger so we knew we wanted to have the reception there. We had the Windsor ballroom and it looked AMAZING. My husband and I could not believe how beautiful it looked once everything was put together. And our food was out of this world!!! I think we got more compliments on our food than anything else. We did a buffet of salmon, chicken, beef tips, and various sides plus a prime rib carving station. Special thanks to Lacey, Jack, and cooks (Juan and Ben) you made our night perfect!-

I would not recommend staying overnight at the hotel. After a long evening at my wedding, myself and several of my guests on different floors, were awoken at 6am by screaming kids in the hallway by and adults encouraging them. The beds were terribly uncomfortable! -

Aaron, Sarah, and Clint were awesome to work with at Rock Gardens! We had worked with each of them on different aspects of our reception and everything was perfect thanks to RG and their crew! The 3 of them put up with our crazy ideas and met with us numerous times to ensure all details were covered. We had 550 people for dinner and the room looked fantastic along with great food and beverages. Comfort Suites was extremely accommodating as well. We had 60 guest welcome bags that the front desk handed out for us while guests checked in. Everything was fantastic! -

The Rock Garden was excellent for our wedding. The room was beautiful and the whole team was great to work with. They helped us with the planning process along the way and it was great having the hotel attached so we didn't have to drive anywhere after. The hotel rooms were really nice. Our guests all had a fantastic time and I would highly recommend the Rock Garden!Comfort Suites Green Bay's reply:

We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We worked with Sarah and everything that we wanted she was able to work out. The staff was very responsive to all our needs and kept things on track all evening. The food was fabulous, we got lots of compliments on that. We had a smaller wedding, only about 60 guests, but they treated us just the same as if we had had 400. -

They did an excellent job to help us plan our wedding reception in 2 weeks time. It turned out better than we ever thought it would. The atmosphere was prefect for our 100 guest and everyone complemented about the excellent food. Many thanks for a great day.Comfort Suites Green Bay's reply:

I could not have asked for a better recpetion venue! The people there are amazing and easy to work with. Every little question I had was promptly answered and the price was perfect! We had a big wedding and I wanted to make sure we could afford it, we got married on a Friday because of the major discount in food prices, and I loved it! The place is gorgeous, and they did a wonderful job! Also, the food was awesome as always! Still getting comments from people weeks later! -

We were planning a wedding long distance. Their "package" deals made it easy to know that everything was taken care of. The prices were an excellent deal. We also got to use one of the meeting rooms in the hotel for the gift opening the morning after with at least 10 bookings. The staff was responsive when an emergency happened during the reception. I'd recommend the Rock Garden over any other venues in the Green Bay area. -

Overall, it went really well! Initially I was told they didn't have a soda package, but eventually they worked with me to come up with a package that worked for me. Lacey was good at following up with what I had to do next and was very accommodating to show me the room when I had time. Very positive experience!! -

I had the opportunity to deal with Debi at the Rock Garden. She was awesome and always willing to help in any way that she could. She allowed us to see the room before and try a few things out. She gave suggestions and recommendations to make the wedding day extra special. The staff and everyone did an outstanding job and made my wedding night EXTRA special. -

The planning process was very easy with the people we worked with at Rock Garden. They were responsive and pricing was comprehensive. There are no hidden fees like with some places we had toured and they were always available for questions during the planning stages up to the day of the wedding. We did hear that one of the bartenders left during the night so drinks were served slowly due to only having one bartender. -

We had our reception at rock garden. I feel liks overall everything went pretty well. We worked with Kim and she was very professional and answered emails quickly and helped with all of my questions. Adding 23.5% (18% mandatory gratuity and 5.5% tax).to our bill was a huge chunk of change to consider but I am thinking ita probably like that at all of the places. We had a different girl with us on the wedding night as the "hostess" and I didnt know that was happening until it happened. They also couldn't set up our slide show because my computer was too old even though I think its only.about 5 years old. My brother in law luckily converted it but it definitely was a pain to figure out. No other horror stories to tell though, so I think it went well! -

Kim was very helpful with helping us make sure things ran smoothly during the planning process. The family style dinner was delicious, and the wait staff and bartenders were excellent and friendly. The only inconvenience was that we had to pay a $250 fee to have the room reserved for the entire day, and we couldn't get in until 11:00. Because of this, I was unable to set anything up myself, and had to recruit family members to do it for me. Other than that, we were very satisfied! -

I loved the look and atmosphere of the Rock Garden. It gave you the sophistication that I was looking for. Most of the staff were very accomidating, and easy to work with. The things I didn't care for were: * You had to pay with cash or check. They don't allow weddings to be paid with credit card. * They weren't always very prompt on returning calls. * If you wanted to get into the space for the reception more than 2 hours before your event you had to wait to see if there was going to be another event in there on the day before, or pay a $250 lock out to garentee you can decorate the space starting at 11am the morning of. I wish there was some way to decorate the night before or at least have them set minor things out for you. But nothing you bring to the space they will put out for you. Thats all on you. * If you are having assigned seating you give them a guarenteed count, but if people (on their own free will) decide they want to sit in other seats and the "extra / just in case seats" have anyone in them, even if you're not over count they still charge you extra. They don't count how many unused place settings there were.
Even though there were some negatives, the space is beautiful, it's nicely located and the hotel rooms are wonderful and nicely priced. -

Our ceremony and reception were at Pamperin Park, less than 2 miles away, so we stayed at Comfort Suites with most of our wedding party. The service was awesome. We arrived close to 11pm, starving. The bar and grill happily made us the rest of the pizzas they had, served us wonderful drinks, and didn't complain at all how late we were up.
Thanks to them for making our after-party so much fun! -

Great location for low key reception
Nice low key place. Staff was great. Gorgeous bar in the hall. Very easy to work with regarding bringing in our own tables & large decor. Food was phenomenal (traditional broasted chicken & tips). Coordinator was a bit difficult to work with, and sometimes not quick to respond. If you are looking to get in the night before to decorate, be careful. They are a busy place & cannot guarantee the room will be empty the night before until the Wednesday before! Stressed me out not knowing when we could get in! But we did, and they were easy to coordinate with. Overall, great experience.-

December Wedding
We had our wedding in the Windsor Ballroom 12/2/21. We were supposed to have our ceremony in the breakfast/lobby area and the day of they told us we couldn’t and we had to move to a smaller room they had for the ceremony. It was a bit of a stress to deal with day of, but Lacey got everything switched for us to quickly. Overall it was a great experience, Lacey answered every question I had through the process no matter how small. -

I really like the reception site. There were a few negatives to the Rock Garden. The first being the poor service from the bartenders, they were rude to many of my guests and especially my family as they were trying to clean up after the reception. The second down fall to the Rock Garden is they will take you money anywhere and everywhere they can think of. My dinner was at 6 with food starting at 4:30 and unless I paid an extra $250 dollars so I could have access to the room at 11. It is not possible for vendors and people to get in and have the room set up in a half hour, this was very disappointing to me! Dinner servers were great. -

Beautiful venue
Very beautiful venue with friendly staff. The only issue we had was when asking for final bill estimates they were not clear on actual final costs and after telling us we owed $1300 more on top of what we had already given for 200 guests come 2 days before the wedding they tried to say we owed $3000 for 180 guests as final count. We did not pay $3000 after showing email correspondence on the estimate we were given. Make sure to ask for ALL of the costs to be added up. When asking for final bills we were never given the final # after being told $1300 it was then $1300 plus service fee and after that is was you still owe for ceremony space too. When I asked for a final bill I meant FINAL bill. I appreciate all they did in regards to COVID and very difficult times we are going through now. But Otherwise amazing venue and our wedding was beautiful!-

The venue itself is beautiful! But I heard from guest that the tap beer tasted spoiled (dirty taps) also heard from my father that when he went up to get a glass of Miller Lite Vs Bud Light that the bartender said "Yeah Right" and laughed. Excuse me we paid how much for your service and for you to treat the Father of the Bride out of all people. I was very disappointed. Also they only had two of each different meals up on the head table, we had 20 people sitting up at the head table and every food item was on the end not even by the Bride and Groom. When we asked for another plate they just went to the other side Groom Vs Bride side and took their plate for us. -

The Rock Garden was easy to work with. My only complaint was having to pay extra to get into our reception room at 11am. -

Mediocre Experience
Overall we had a great wedding day. We choose to have both our wedding reception and ceremony at the Rock Garden. Since there are not that many reviews on this venue I wanted to give my detailed experience with the Rock Garden.
The long story short. Make sure you go over every single detail with this venue and I'd recommend hire a professional to work with them.
The venue itself was great, we loved our Reception hall. It was said to fit around 300 guests and we had 150, and that was perfect. Our guests were not packed in and there was plenty of space for the dancefloor and to walk around the tables. There was confusion on the table layout, even though we had talked about it at our final meeting. They wanted to put tables on the dance-floor. Our (hired externally) day-of wedding coordinator fixed that up for me but it would have been a headache without her. All of the event staff was great and accommodating according to our coordinator. Not once did I see the event manager that we worked with leading up to the wedding. She said she’d be available but we never saw her and my coordinator had a hard time getting her the one time she did need her. My biggest take away was thank god we hired a day-of coordinator because there was a ton that needed to be dealt with with the venue day-of.
The food was great! Everyone had compliments on the food and the bar service. However, it did take them a long time to serve (we had plated meals) and there was a mix up with our dinner time. The desserts and things were sort of hidden and set up awkward so many of our guests didn’t even know they were there.
Leading up to the wedding, the event manager was mostly easy to get a hold of. I prefer to communicate through email so I can look back at what was said, and she was pretty responsive with email. She answered all of my questions, but she didn’t really provide much information upfront. I asked a lot of questions that I felt should have just been told to us. This is where a planner that knew what to ask would have been nice as there was no guidance from the venue.
There were a few of booking problems that had to be addressed day-of. We were told we’d have access to the ceremony space to set up 2 hours in advance and it wasn’t available. We were told we would have access to the ceremony space to rehearse the night before and it wasn’t available. We were pushed around to even find a place to rehearse. Thank god we bought the extra “lock out” fee for the reception space, which the event manager told us we wouldn't need several time but its clear we did.
The ceremony was rained out, so we used our back-up space. That room is small, hot, and overall bland looking, but we did know that going in. Make sure you look at the rain plan room and know what you’re getting into if you choose the ceremony space.
The hotel room we were given was not one I would expect for a bride and groom. We found out that some of our guests were "upgraded" and received larger rooms with more bells and whistles than ours. We were not once told there were even any other options for our wedding night. When we met with the event manager, she described we would get a large suite near our reception hall and this was not at all what we got.
We were provided with the whirlpool "suite" which was poolside. So we had screaming kids at our window first thing in the morning and all day while getting ready. We had to keep the curtains completely closed for privacy. The room was so small. And we paid a lot for what was an average room called a "suite". It also seemed like our wedding “block” was all over the place. Our guests seemed to be scattered all over the hotel. It was extremely disappointing.
The front desk and the staff were all great and super nice and helpful when we needed them. And the pool is amazing, the kids had a blast there.
Like I said, overall we had a great night and none of these small things hindered us. The venue took care of a lot of things, like food and drinks and service, because of their package. But I felt that for the price we paid for the top package our guest experience could have been better. I hope that this honest and detailed review will help future brides make an informed decision. -

This is a hard one...Debi was difficult she would tell my ILs one thing and me another (which caused tension between us and some fights) - ALWAYS make sure you have everything in writing (she also did not like replying with history so save your emails ladies). We booked the hall over a year in advance - Debi was our contact we didn't meet her until the Thurs before the wedding in which she seemed bothered to go over the details. Lack of confidence for me on how the day was going to go since several visits prior she never sat down with me despite me travelling to Green Bay and letting her know in advance. I had many emails of her saying "Great see you then." Each visit the staff looked dumbfounded when I walked in to see her on her "day off." Of course the ILs had nothing bad to say - they always went with a check book (go figure).
The day of the hall manager was amazing, the staff was professional, and service was smooth - no hiccups that I know about. Everyone enjoyed the food and it was same quality that we had at the taste tests. Aaron was another contact that was amazing to work with - most of the time when Debi ditched out Aaron was right there and helpful as ever, honestly I wish I just had to deal with him and a good portion of the stress would have been avoided.
Setting up the hotel block was another nightmare. It took Paul over a month to do this for me. It is not that hard I used to work at a hotel - some guests also had a hard time booking they were told there were no rooms in the block (we were told that rooms would just be added if the block filled - my husband is one they told there were no rooms left) and I was also told they would not do out of town bags for guests. Yet when I went to meet at the hotel the Thursday before the wedding there were three sets of out of town bags behind the desk...hmmmm -

The positives - food was great - lots of compliments. Kim was very easy to work with and had helpful suggestions. The negatives - the room wasn't set up correctly, some of the food was not brought out or at the correct time and the drink prices seemed to change through out the night for our guests. -

Unsatisfactory
We had our reception here and originally was booked for in season ($6000min paid full min) we had to reschedule due to Covid and ended up with off season new min $3250. Would not reimburse any amount paid. Was supposed to be family style dinners came out pre plated plates with chicken and beef tips on same plate. Plates looked "messy" when served. -

Double Booked My Hall
I was excited about Rock Garden/Comfort Suites right after I booked. We looked at the facility, which has two ballrooms and chose one. I absolutely hated the second ballroom, which Lacey knew. We booked the first ballroom for our date well over a year and a half in advance to ensure we had the room we wanted. Our contract had the correct ballroom on it. But after booking, I started getting frustrated. I felt Lacey was unresponsive to my emails and most of the time I would have to send follow up emails to get a response. 6 months prior to our wedding date, we brought in a required payment and got a receipt for it and everything. They never pulled the money out of our account. We followed up multiple times and eventually were told to just pay the full amount the week of wedding. Whatever, that's fine. Then two days before the wedding, we are supposed to meet with Lacey. She comes out with her manager and the tell us they gave our ballroom to someone else!!!! Even after multiple emails to confirm the correct ballroom, I was told there was a "computer mistake" and our ballroom was given to another couple. Even though we had it booked well in advance of the other couple, since they had more people (don't think it was by much) the venue opted to give it to them. The solution was to give us the ballroom I absolutely hated. Yes, they did give us perks to try to make up for our mistake (add-ons to the package) which was generous. However, it didn't make up for the mistake and I hugely regret choosing Comfort Suites. -
