We just got married end of May and we absolutely LOVED our DJ, Jared. I was diagnosed with a serious medical condition 3 weeks before our wedding, and we set up time with Jared to go over a bunch of changes surrounding that. He was eager to help, made suggestions and gave us a lot of assurance for our event.
The day of our wedding, Jared was communicative, SO nice, and easy to work with making decisions on the fly. He played every song we requested and read the room perfectly. When it was time to relax during dinner, to dancing on the dancefloor he did an awesome job. Every person in that venue got on the floor at least twice - even some I didn't expect lol!
Later that evening and all through this week we've gotten compliments on how wonderful our wedding was, and everyone mentioned the DJ. Bryan and I would HIGHLY recommend Collins Entertainment, especially Jared to handle their wedding. You won't be disappointed!Collins Entertainment's reply:

We are so happy we found the Collins Entertainment team for our wedding day! DJ Charlie was an awesome teammate in our planning process and made us feel at ease from start to finish on the big day. From the initial coordination with Mitch, to emailing back and forth with Mitch, the owner Jim, and Charlie to address our questions, to the respect for our song requests and capturing our overall theme, we were really pleased throughout.
We appreciated the event planning platform, which forced us to think through all of the questions that a DJ, the Master of Ceremonies, really needs to know to make an event successful. The Collins team also sends periodic wedding countdown reminder e-mails that are extremely helpful and ensured that we were doing the right things at the right time.
We only had two minor complaints. First, we were unhappy that one profane rap song made it into the dancing portion of the night - which in fairness may have been requested by one of our family members - but it really threw off the vibe for us for a couple of minutes (especially because we had a lot of family and older guests in attendance). Not sure if others noticed it as much, as the dancing continued regardless. Second, the website platform is a little unintuitive, and could probably use an update in the next few years: the site is also not integrated with any music platform (like Spotify or YouTube), which made it a little cumbersome to toggle between browser windows.
Our ceremony was extremely important to us, and we were nervous about it because it was outdoors and we weren’t entirely sure how the acoustics and electrical setup would work at the venue. Charlie made sure that the prelude and processional music and ceremony audio were perfectly timed, at the right volume, and that the microphone and other equipment were functional without interruption. While it’s probably an industry standard, we still truly appreciated that Charlie matched our dress code for the wedding, and looked super sharp in his suit despite the August weather and the air conditioning failing in the reception area just before the wedding!
Charlie captured our requested music themes for the cocktail hour and throughout the reception, made the right introductions and announcements throughout. He did a fantastic job of reading the room and keeping things moving, and provided the exact level of interaction and number of announcements that we were hoping for. It all felt very natural. People danced throughout, despite it being hot in the building, and Charlie kept everybody moving and built off our requested playlist very well. We were also so glad we chose the uplighting option - it made the reception area look so much better as the evening progressed, and we couldn’t imagine the space without that detail.
We were really going for a classy, timeless wedding day, and Charlie and the Collins Entertainment team did a phenomenal job of making that a reality. They paid attention to the details, were extremely professional yet relatable, and demonstrated skill in their craft. We’ve been to so many weddings and the choice of a DJ can really make or break the day. If we had to do it all over again, we would choose Collins Entertainment for our wedding every time, and we strongly recommend their services to anyone planning a wedding or event!Collins Entertainment's reply:

We had an incredible experience at our NYE wedding with Collins Entertainment and DJ Charlie. Charlie was very communicative in the lead up to our wedding and was very thorough in helping us throughout the wedding planning process. Their online platform is great for adding information. Our guests all said they had an incredibly fun time - our dance floor was packed all night and Charlie led us in the countdown to ring in the new year! We also HIGHLY recommend the saxophonist - he was absolutely incredible, all our guests loved him, he did a phenomenal job and was such a nice surprise for our guests! Very happy with Collins Entertainment! They were professional the entire process and Maurice was very interactive on the wedding day. The dance floor was always filled and guests commented on how good the music was. Our requests and special songs were played and our specific requests were listened too. Maurice made sure to check in on us throughout the night as well, not just about the music but how we were doing in general which I thought was a nice touch! DJ Jared provided much more than the soundtrack to our wedding. He arrived early to ensure the sound for our ceremony - including mics for our officiant and readers. For cocktail hour, he played the perfect mix of classic and contemporary music and was a great emcee for speeches throughout dinner. Once the dance floor opened, he incorporated our must-play songs with some of his own selections, as well as requests from our guests. We are SO happy we partnered with Collins Entertainment for our big day!! DJ Elio was easy to work with, had such a positive and energetic attitude, and really took the time to get to know us, the details of the day, and what we wanted from a dance floor. Their online planning tool was so helpful to keep everything organized, and they periodically send emails with planning to-do's to keep you on track as well which was very helpful, and I felt above and beyond! Our dance floor never had a dull moment, and it's one of the top comments we've been getting after the big day. Specifically, that the playlist was "so you!" which we absolutely loved. We were drawn to a DJ over a band because you can play such a wide variety of music, and DJ Elio did just that for us - blending songs from my husband and my childhoods, college experience, wedding classics, and current top hits. DJ Elio also kept us on track all evening (despite speeches going long as they always do!), and flawlessly transitioned from ceremony, to cocktail hour, to reception (entrances, speeches, dance floor). He nailed it, and we are so grateful. We could not recommend more!! -

When we first looked into hiring a DJ, we thought it was as simple as picking someone to play music and get the dance floor going. But we were impressed with how much more there was to it, and Collins Entertainment had it all covered from start to finish! There were so many details that we had not considered, like doing a "farewell dance" towards the end of the night. They also offered perspectives that we had not considered, like the benefits of doing wedding party introductions since we had not done programs. Because there is a team of DJs and they take incredible notes, it also means that there is a seamless transition in case of any emergencies. Our original DJ had a family medical emergency, but his colleague was able to step in without missing a beat (pun intended). We highly recommend!Collins Entertainment's reply:

I got married on September 18, 2021. My fiance and I did research for DJ's in the Enfield, CT area. I came across Collins Entertainment. Jim was so helpful and communicated extremely fast. Jim answered all of my questions and set us up with DJ Elio. DJ Elio was such a pleasure to work with. My fiance and I met via zoom with Elio and went over what we wanted our wedding to look and sound like. DJ Elio was extremely helpful and offered professional advice on certain music. On the day of the wedding, DJ Elio helped make our wedding day as perfect as could be. He made sure to play all of our "must-play songs" and to pump up the entire crowd. So many people got up and danced at our wedding. DJ Elio was very personable and it was evident he truly cared about us having a great day. Collins Entertainment was very reasonably priced and I highly recommend this business for anyone looking to have an amazing DJ experience! -

We had our wedding in September 2020 with DJ Elio - we just had the best day and so did our guests! DJ Elio was game for whatever we asked, and he NAILED the timing for my processional, which was really important to us. My husband and I hired Kevin Barnett through Collins Entertainment to DJ our wedding. Kevin met with me prior to the wedding and took detailed notes on my bridal party, what songs I wanted played, requests from my guests, and what songs I definitely didn't want played . Who knew there was a specific song for cake cutting? I didn't. We remained in contact in the weeks leading up to my wedding about finalizing things so I wouldn't have to worry about anything the day of. Kevin took the time to go over every little detail of our reception and what would be played during cocktail hour, dinner, and songs we wanted played for dancing. Kevin went above and beyond our expectations. He cultivated such a fun and exciting night, while keeping it very professional as he MCed through the events of our reception. He even helped us organize a group picture of everyone at our reception by calling them onto the dance floor. We got an awesome picture and it was a great way to get everyone dancing. Kevin even came up to me at the reception to ask if there were any other songs that i wanted to hear. Whatever I told him I wanted to hear he would play it next. Loved hearing all my favorite songs surrounded by all the people I love. My guests have told me that our wedding was one of the best weddings they've attended, and I believe Kevin's professional DJ skills created such a fun atmosphere. Would definitely recommend him for all my friends and family members who are currently engaged. We loved having Kevin be apart of our special day. -

We had a bit of a rough start with the company as we got close to our wedding. Jim Collins stepped up and made our event wonderful. We had his mid-level package with uplighting and the room was gorgeous. We received multiple comments on how good our emcee was and how high the energy was on the dance floor. Jim and his crew are professional, attentive, and just down right awesome with an astute attention for detail! We had such an amazing wedding and these guys had such a hand in making it the best day ever. Kept us at ease throughout the whole process. Made it so easy for us. The portal they run through makes the whole process easy and anxiety free. I would recommend them to anyone for any event. Collins Entertainment was amazing. Jim was professional, detail oriented, friendly and amazing the night of our wedding. He sent monthly emails as reminders, provided us with additional information for any last minute items we may have forgot, and just overall super organized. We had our wedding at Bill Miller's Castle with Jim as the Master of Ceremonies. Our guests danced all night long. They really enjoyed the photo booth as well. Jim was so wonderful to work with, very responsive throughout the entire process. Provided great suggestions and practical options when we were unsure of what we wanted. We really enjoyed the day of with DJ Mike, he provided coverage during the ceremony as well as throughout the entire night. Mike was able to really read the crowd and tailor song selections. The Mirror booth was well worth it and we all enjoyed this addition to our big day! Would highly recommend working this this team, as they took care of us. -

Out of all my vendors (20+ people/companies) Jim Collins was by far my favorite to work with. He was professional, punctual, detail oriented, friendly, and had great communication. From the time I signed the agreement Jim sent monthly emails checking in giving tips and details to keep in mind. He has an organizer online that helps you pick out music. He planned skype meetings two separate times with us as it got closer to go over the minute by minute night. He made sure everyones names were correctly pronounced and assured that he knew everything he needed. We also used Collins Entertainment for our ceremony audio and photo booth services. I think what I hate most is going to a wedding and you can't hear anything, I stressed to Jim how important it was that everyone could hear us clearly. Every person front to back of our ceremony that I've spoken to said could hear us perfectly. We were wirelessly mic'd with high tech equipment and it went so smooth. For the photo booth, he had tons of accessories and props, people had a blast! We picked the mirror booth, it was a little more money but totally worth it. Very unique experience. Overall Jim is such a great guy, he couldn't have been more of a professional. Anyone I know who is need of DJ services I would recommend him to! -

They did our wedding a little over a week ago and we absolutely loved them. We got comment after comment from our guests telling us how much they loved the music and entertainment we had. Jim Collins and his assistant Kevin did a great job and we can’t thank them enough for helping us create our vision! About a year in a half before our wedding date we were in search for a DJ for our wedding and then I came across “Collins Entertainment” and I just knew we had to book them! We still had a whole year and a half before the big day but I’m really good at reading people and my instincts sure were right! I am so happy that we booked them so early because not only did it secure our date, but also put us at ease. Just talking with Jim gave me confidence that our night would be awesome!
He’s not only a DJ but a master of ceremonies as well. He helped with the timeline of the wedding and gives you an internet data base to organize your vision, save songs you want played etc. It’s a great and easy to use computer system that really helped us out with all the planning! After talking first with him on the phone we set up a time to Skype so he could get to know us a little more and talk about a plan.
We then set up a time to meet at a Panara to chat in person. I loved meeting with him because while planning a wedding you have so many thoughts and ideas running through your mind, it’s good to get them all out in the open to the guy who is creating your wedding! We Skyped one more time before the day to finalize everything and go through the timeline and order of events. Jim kept in contact our entire engagement and answered any questions or concerns we had. Even though we were a year and a half out, he kept in contact and was so excited to help! His professionalism and personality was definitely something to remember.
We had so many ideas for songs and he made all those ideas that I thought were impossible, happen! Literally can’t thank them enough for the time they put into our vision.
Throughout the whole wedding he is announcing things and keeping the guests up and enjoying the night with your music selections that you picked along with his expertise. He’s very good at reading the crowd and knowing which songs to play at what time. He even came up to our sweetheart table during the night to check on us to see if he could do anything for us which was so nice! All of our other vendors loved them too and said he was great to work with.
He definitely knows his stuff since he’s done so many different weddings, I trusted him when he gave me advice on things I was questioning. He did an anniversary dance and called up couples who were married 1 year, 5 year, 10 years etc and kept calling them up and to put an even better twist on it, he used my parents wedding song and my now husband’s parents wedding song for this special idea. My mom and mother in-law definitely had a good happy cry and loved that we did that!
After telling him as a kid that I used to make up silly raps just joking around for fun he game me the bride, the confidence to rap at our wedding lol! -
He is just full of ideas and it really shows in his work that he truly loves what he does!!
Collins Entertainment is the absolute BEST, and that’s a fact.

Jim was so warm and personable and really helped us figure out what we wanted and followed through with absolute perfection. I was very picky and wanted specific versions of songs and even wanted my intro timed to a specific part of a song and he pulled it off perfectly. He totally understood the vibe we wanted and carried that through the entire night. Everyone told me it was the most fun wedding they've ever been to. With all the stress of wedding planning it was so great not having to worry about the music because from the first conversation we had with Jim we were 100% confident in him. Hiring Collins Entertainment was one of the absolute best decisions we made for the entire wedding. Our guests were happy and dancing all night long, the process could not have been easier, and Jim was very patient with us as a couple during the planning, especially when we needed to make changes to what we already planned on!
