Cocoa and Fig was hands-down the best bakery we could have chose for our wedding day!!
We are so thrilled we ended up with Cocoa and Fig for our wedding day. After a few last minute changes and a wedding postponement, Cocoa and Fig made all of our wedding cake dreams come true! They accommodated a special flavor request and it was the most delicious wedding cake that we have ever had. The flavor, serving sizes, and elegance of the cake was so amazing!! Working with Joe, the owner, was also so wonderful! He is so kind and made the whole experience special. We would recommend Cocoa and Fig to anyone and everyone that is looking for a top notch bakery and wedding vendor!! Thank you thank you Cocoa and Fig!! -

Cocoa and Fig absolutely NAILED our wedding cake and exceeded all our expectations! At the last minute, our wedding cake vendor dropped out on us and I scrambled to find a replacement. I called countless bakeries and finally found Cocoa, thank God! I worked with one of the owners, Joe, from the beginning and he was super responsive and easy to work with. Being able to pick up a "Tasting Box" of cupcakes to find which flavors we liked best was convenient and fun! Once we decided on the sinfully chocolate cake, Joe took our inspiration picture and made it into a reality. The price was reasonable and the onsite delivery was convenient. Not only was it gorgeous, but also delicious, our guests loved it and we're still savoring some slices at home!! We would HIGHLY recommend using Cocoa and Fig for any of your bakery needs!!! K+B -

I can't imagine a better dessert caterer than Cocoa and Fig! I'm a relatively experienced baker and my family are all (self-described) dessert snobs, and we were all so impressed with the quality of the desserts both at our tasting and at my wedding. Guests also raved. They were able to do exactly what we wanted, with a bunch of layer cakes in several flavors as well as lots of different mini tarts. With these different kinds of dessert I wasn't sure how it'd all look together on display, but Cocoa and Fig set it all up and provided the serving stands, and the presentation was perfect and beautiful. Communication with Joe was easy and prompt, and his recommendation for the number of cakes for our guests was also spot-on. I only wish I had more of an appetite on my wedding day to eat more of the desserts! We can't recommend Cocoa and Fig enough. -

I strongly recommend Cocoa & Fig to anyone having a wedding or event where they need catered desserts! Our entire experience with them was excellent and our Dessert Coordinator Lauren was very friendly and helpful from the initial consultation / tasting through execution on the big day. For the quality of the desserts and service the prices were very competitive.
During the tasting, she did a wonderful job asking questions to understand our overall vision and needs and had a lot of books and visual examples of what other people have done. In addition, we got to try a large variety of their desserts which was great because we ultimately decided to do a miniature dessert assortment and small cake for us to cut during the reception.
On wedding day, everything was delivered and setup on time and the dessert table looked amazing with all the bright colors, stands and signs. We received nothing but compliments from our guests about how the display looked and ultimately how delicious the desserts were. -

My husband and I hired Cocoa & Fig for our wedding at Camrose Hill Flower Farm this September. We had a variety of mini cupcakes for our guests and they were fantastic. We received many, many compliments and it was a great alternative to a large cake, allowing for a variety of flavors. They accommodated our gluten free guest too and were one of our most accommodating and responsive vendors. The tasting was a wonderful treat in itself! Would recommend them highly and use them again for another event! -

We were so happy with Cocoa and Fig! We had 6 mini desserts, and nearly all were eaten. Lauren and her crew were responsive and answered all our questions (and we were planning the wedding from NYC). We had a wonderful tasting. And the wedding day was beautiful! Everyone raved about the desserts. They were unique and the display was beautiful! We also had escort card apples pies on a stick - and they looked amazing! Everyone loved this touch and they were so delicious. One of our guests recently said she's trying to make desserts for her son's reception and she "hopes they look as beautiful as our desserts did." (Too bad she lives out of state, otherwise she could hire Cocoa and Fig too!) We highly recommend them! -

I cannot rave more about Cocoa & Fig!! Their desserts are not only delicious, but oh so beautiful!
Right from the start, Lauren was so easy to work with, responding to emails in a timely manner, meeting with us for a tasting, and answering all of our questions. When I needed to make changes to our dessert menu and add another layer to our cake, it was no problem at all.
On the wedding day, they come and decorate your dessert table to match the style and look of your wedding, one less thing for brides to stress about! Our naked cake was gorgeous (and delicious!) and we received compliment after compliment from our guests about the mini desserts, both on the wedding day and the weeks following.
I would recommend that you consider getting more desserts than you think you'll need; we had 705 dessert pieces (plus a three-tiered cake) for 235 guests and they were all gone, except for a few that my parents took home for us to enjoy the next morning. The great news is, they have retail shops in Minneapolis and Edina, so even after the wedding you can get your Cocoa & Fig craving satisfied.
If you're looking for stunning desserts to wow your guest (and yourself!), I HIGHLY recommend Cocoa & Fig!! -

Cocoa & Fig was very responsive and communicated well throughout the entire process, from the tasting, through the design process, and right up to delivery of our fabulous cake. They did an incredible job of making my wedding cake dreams a reality, and it was delicious! Cocoa & Fig is definitely on the high end of what you will pay for a cake, but rest assured they provide the highest quality of service and product. -

Working with Cocoa & Fig was so easy and fun and our desserts were amazing! We opted to do a mini dessert bar, with 9 different desserts, rather than a wedding cake. My husband and loved everything about Cocoa & Fig! Lauren was very helpful in making sure we stayed within our budget.

We had cupcakes from Cocoa & Fig for my daughter's wedding reception, and they were fabulous! We had a variety of flavors, including a Tiramisu cupcake that was created just for us as it is the groom's favorite dessert! The cupcakes were beautifully arranged on a cupcake tower and included cards that matched the color scheme identifying the flavors. The coordinator we worked with was wonderful- so friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Cocoa & Fig for all of your cupcake needs! -

Cocoa and Fig is a great vendor for your wedding! They did an amazing job from start to finish! The tasting was fabulous, they really listened to our theme and incorporated great ideas to go with our color scheme, they consistently emailed you with any questions and verified everything before performing any work. We did a small 2 tier cake - which was the centerpiece of our dessert table. We had cupcakes, dessert shooters, cake lollipops, and mini carrot cake cookies. They even took the time to make an incredible display of it all, it was definitely one of the highlights of our wedding day that family and friends are still talking about! -

Joe and Laura did a wonderful job with our cake and late night treats. We had a strawberry cake with cream cheese filling and a butter cream frosting it was a hit a the wedding. The late night treats were brownies and their version of a Special K bar! So delicious! -

Cocoa & Fig are fantastic! As soon as we walked into their office (that felt more like a home) and met Joe, we were won over. Everything Cocoa & Fig stands for fit our personalities and our vision for the wedding to a "t." Their baked goods are seriously too die for, the most flavorful, moist, decadent desserts I have ever tasted. And not just one of them was good, they all were. They were so good we ended up going with a dessert bar/table which included pudding shooters, macarons, mini cupcakes and cupcake pops. They also paid attention to all the little details, incorporating our colors wherever they could and the dessert labels were also in the same pattern we used for our table place cards! Everyone, including our photographer was impressed with the table! One of my good friends was disappointed when he saw that we didn't have a cake (he's a big pie and cake person), but once he took a bite out of one of the cake pops he ecstatic to have the dessert table! He too was won over! Thank you Cocoa & Fig team for providing such excellent service and a fabulous dessert table for our special day that everyone will remember! -

No one compares. I am seriously speechless! The desserts are delicious. The flavors are outstanding. Every guest was complimenting the caramel salted macaroons. A week later people are still messaging me on facebook saying "i want more macaroons!" GO TO COCOA&FIG! We cant wait to have children, because i want to have cocoa&fig at every birthday party.

Cocoa & Fig provided the cupcakes for our wedding and they were delicious! We had set up a number of cupcake tastings in hopes of finding the most delicious cupcake for our reception. We had gone to a few places and had not been overly impressed. They were dry or had too much frosting on them. We were a little surprised when we set up the tasting with Cocoa & Fig that we had to pay $35 for the tasting (as the other tastings had been free) and had to drive out to Shakopee. Our thought was, these cupcakes better be good! And they were! They were so, so, so good, above and beyond any of the other cupcakes we had tasted and we got to taste like 6 different flavors and a few other types of desserts as well. $35 well spent to find the best cupcakes in the city.
Joe and Laurie were also so easy to work with, flexible, kind and helpful. When we met with Joe, he took the time to get to know us and ask about our event. People loved our cupcakes and we would definitely work with them again and recommend them to family and friends. -

We decided we wanted cake pops at our wedding but our cake vendor did not make them, so we started looking elsewhere. We got the recommendation from our venue, who had worked with them before, and we loved them! We drove down to Shakopee for a tasting and everything was delicious. We agreed on different flavors and amounts and they delivered them to our venue in Uptown with no problem. They were the first things gone that night, I barely got one! -

We used Cocoa & Fig for a dessert table at our wedding. They made a small cake for us to cut and supplied a dessert table for 150 guests. They make outstanding mini cupcakes, cakepops, shooters, macaroons etc. To this day we are still getting comments about how great the dessert table was. -

You are very easy going and laid back, just like us and we loved it. Everyone at our wedding requested your information, and we happily gave it to them. Joe and Laurie and Cocoa & Fig were a joy to work with! The cake was probably the most fun and easy part of our wedding planning. They took in lots of ideas that were all over the place and came back to us with exactly what we were looking for but couldn't quite picture beforehand. It was unique, fresh, fun, and exactly us. Our wedding cake was perfect. Our guests couldn't stop commenting on how fun it was and how delicious it tasted. We also loved the yummy and adorable shooters and assorted desserts!
In addition to making our wedding day extra sweet, Cocoa & Fig catered breakfast for our gift opening the next morning. Aside from bending over backwards to meet our needs on the 4th of July, Joe & Laurie made us a delicious spread of foods.
I know it seems unlikely that they could be so perfect--but there is honestly nothing more I could have asked them for! A must for any MN wedding! -

I loved working with Joe & Laurie!
We did a dessert bar for our wedding reception and it was AMAZING. Two different types of cupcakes, cake pops, banana shooters and a banana cake for us! Everything was beautifully set up, and gobbled up by our guests.
They were also willing to adjust our numbers in the weeks before the event, and do a special birthday cheesecake for a niece who was turning 15 that day. (needless to say, she was thrilled!)
Can't wait to use them again for other events in our future. -

Laurie and Joe were great! Right away at the initial tasting they were very responsive and made us both feel very comfortable. They were very willing to work with us on flavors and design (even after we changed our minds). I bake a lot of wedding style cakes, so quality ingredients were really important to me; Cocoa and Fig cakes are superb. Many of our wedding guests commented on how delicious our cake was. They were prompt for delivery and billing, and the cake looked stunning. I would use them again in a heartbeat. -

After meeting Laurie I was done cake tasting- her baking/desserts are DELICIOUS. She is the best of the best in the Twin Cities. The dessert table and wedding cake she designed for my wedding were everyone's favorite. My friends and family members have already ordered custom cakes, visited her store downtown for goodies, as well as the farmer's market. Cocoa & Fig is amazing! We had a wonderful time at the tasting, and got a great feeling for all they had to offer. We went with a combination of mini cupcakes and fruit tarts for each table, and the designs were beautiful. Laurie is so talented! We received many compliments on how flavorful the desserts were, and I only wish my husband and I would have been able to indulge in a few more of the desserts! I would highly recommend Cocoa & Fig to anyone who is looking for beautifully decorated, delicious, and reasonably-price desserts. -

I can't recommend Cocoa & Fig highly enough! If I could give them more than 5 stars, I definitely would. Our entire experience with them was phenomenal.
We were having a tough time finding a baker who could make a high-quality vegan cake. Laurie was so open and accommodating. When we went in for our consultation, she had made a variety of different flavors of vegan cake and vegan frosting for us to try. She led us to the tasting area, where she had laid out separate tasting plates for each person, with pretty little placemats and pre-labeled note-taking sheets. I was extremely impressed by her organization and preparedness. She also invited us to tour her kitchen, which was absolutely immaculate.
Laurie allowed us to custom-design our cake, and was totally flexible with our requests. The end result was exactly what I had imagined--she really brought our ideas to life. Of course, the cake was also delicious! We served two different flavors, and the guests raved about both of them. No one had any idea that the cakes were vegan. I wouldn't hesistate to use Cocoa & Fig for all my future cake-baking needs. -

Laurie & Joe of Cocoa & Fig do a WONDERFUL job. We had so much fun at the tasting, and we loved that there were so many combinations of icings and cakes to choose from. We ended up having a cupcake tower (a great way to cut out cake-cutting fees!) and so we were able to offer our guests 3! different flavors to choose from. They created the tower to match our theme, and they even included a top layer angel food cake (the bride's favorite) that was decorated to match our invitations. We even were able to freeze the leftovers and have enjoyed the cupcakes since! We found out after the big day that they had two other weddings in other parts of the metro area and we were impressed that they made all of the deliveries and set-ups themselves. Another great thing is that on your one year anniversary, they will make your a complimentary fresh cake to have to celebrate! We also asked them to include breakfast pastries in our order for us to have at our gift opening the next morning. Cocoa & Fig does not disappoint! -

I would recommend Cocoa & Fig to anyone hosting an event of any kind. They use only the best ingredients, everything is super fresh and amazingly delicious. For my wedding, Cocoa & Fig created an incredible dessert display of cupcakes, French macaron cookies and flowers that my guests were seriously oooing and aaaahhhing over the entire evening! I love working with Laurie and Joe -- they approach each event with a unique vision, and with the simplest ingredients they are able to create a totally customized experience. -

Cocoa and Fig held a "tasting" for us of menu items we were interested in. We paid for the tasting, but the cost came off our catering bill. It was a wonderful dinner for four (my parents came along). And we gained more ideas at the tasting for our wedding (like Peanut Butter Pops, yum!).
The food was flavorful, interesting, delicious, pleasing to the eye and seasonal, all things we appreciate. Laurie created a menu of several small appetizers for our fall wedding outdoor buffet. We also had a signature beverage - hot apple cider (perfect for the slightly chilly day). The staff was outstanding - professional, knowledgeable, flexible and appreciative of the beautiful environment my mom had created at her home. My aunt enjoyed them so much she hired them to cater her 25th wedding anniversary.
I would definitely recommend Cocoa & Fig and hire them again if I need catering. -

My advice is to book with Cocoa & Fig. We knew that we wanted a dessert bar. Lauren did a great job of giving us options and advice. From the tasting to the the day of our wedding, we were so happy to choose Cocoa & Fig. All the desserts were delicious and our guests loved the variety of options. -

I wish I lived closer to the bakery so we could get cupcakes and deserts all the time, I have dreams of their amazing cupcakes and cake! They were very flexible with us and easy to work with which was great because we live 5 hours from where we had our wedding. My guests loved the deserts so much and so did we! I was happy to have left overs to take home because they were just so delicious. We had a mix up on the delivery (we had them deliver to our hotel instead of reception site) but that was because the hotel stored the deserts for us instead of notifying us. Because of this we had a bit of a panic when we had to leave and hadn't heard about them being delivered but it got sorted out quick. They packed the cake and cupcakes well and they made the half hour drive from ceremony to reception perfectly. We are incredibly happy that we decided to go with Cocoa & Fig. -

Even though the owners got married the weekend before our wedding, they worked to accommodate us and get our cupcakes and sweetheart cake ready for our wedding. The cupcakes were a hit and they looked gorgeous as well. The black velvet was by far the favorite! -

Amazing eye for detail and delicious desserts. We had Laura and Joe create our dessert table with tiramisu and banana pudding shooters, fruit tarts, cake pops, peanut butter pops, and babycake cupcakes. Our table looked so impressive and the desserts tasted like perfection. We had them make a small cake for us and they even made a replica of our monogram to put on it. The cakes were so unique in a hexagonal shape! The satisfied my biggest request which was to have amazing desserts at my wedding! Everyone loved them! And not to mention that they are just fantastic people to work with! -

Although expensive, the desserts provided by Cocoa & Fig were raved about all night. My husband and I knew their stuff was great, that's why we went straight to them for our wedding dessert. They were more than willing to create the kind of cake we wanted, as well as hundreds of French Macaron cookies that everyone kept going back for. They were delicious. Because we spent so many date-lunches ending at the Cocoa & Fig location downtown, the cookies were sort of a sentimental thing for us, so I'm not sure if we would have spent the money if it didn't hold that kind of value to us, but I'm glad we did! -

Cocoa & Fig was very easy and professional to work with throughout the whole process. Our tasting was very informative and delicious! We ended up ordering a traditional cake and having a small dessert table with some of their mini desserts, which are amazing (both beautiful and very tasty)! They were quick to respond to emails and were very thorough and detailed with their contract and information which really helps keep the stress level down - you don't have to worry about checking in on them. On the day, they arrived when they said they would and everything looked and tasted perfect. We highly recommend! -

We booked at the last minute (one month before our date) and Cocoa & Fig did an amazing job all the way through delivery. Laurie was very helpful working with what we hoped to provide for our guests at a sweet table, with presentation and advice. We watched several of our guests walk up many times to our cupcake tower. The cupcakes were a huge hit and so easy! -

We used Cocoa and Fig for our wedding this past summer with mixed luck. We very much enjoyed our tasting and consultation with Joe and Laurie, and their cakes are gorgeous and the ingredients are top-notch. However, we had a bit of trouble with their organization (at one point it was clear that the counts for our cupcakes had been misplaced, as I was personally called and asked for these numbers again as if they hadn't already been decided on) and management of details. I requested that my cake be made without fondant, as I personally prefer just a buttercream frosting, and my 3-tiered cake showed up at my reception hall covered in fondant! It was stunning and made for beautiful photos, but I was disappointed that it wasn't quite right. Lastly, and probably most importantly, they did not bill us until days before the new year! I received an e-mail stating that they had overlooked our billing around the time of our wedding, and would now be charging the balance to the card they had on file (6 months late!). When I inquired about a discount of any sort to remedy the situation, they simply stated they were unable to do so. I know they are a new business, and are probably still working out some of the kinks, but it would have been nice to be compensated in some way for the inconvenience.
