Flawless and Outstanding Results!

I worked as Professional Wedding DJ for many years in the Charlotte area and FINALLY got to plan my own wedding at 40 years old. Being in the industry made it "somewhat" easier as far as planning goes, but when it comes to weddings there are 3 main aspects that you can not take short cuts with... the food, the music, and the photographer!

Cliff Nichols is by far one of the best in the buisness! From the very beginning, he was upfront about all pricing and packages. We hired him months before our "date" and his communication remained very involved in the entire planning process. Two weeks before our wedding, he met us at the venue for a site visit, and brought his camera to get some fun "test shots" so that we could get an idea of what the scenery and lighting would look like for the real deal. As time approached, he created an amazing timeline that could easily be merged with our venue timeline. My wife and I were most surprised that he came to our rehearsal the day before and made very helpful recommendations. Now most everyone will say that their wedding was "perfect", but ours absolutely was! His pictures were phenomenal, and he caught every moment that we hoped to be captured. As a bonus, he even stayed a little later than contracted to get those outstanding late night DANCE pics!

The best photographer I have ever worked with!

Cliff Nichols is the most talented photographer I have ever worked with. He is extremely professional - Shows up early and was at our rehearsal to ensure good lighting for the ceremony. Very creative with poses and encouraged us to come up with poses we loved and wanted to create. Cliff’s experience in wedding photography was evident in the way he organized the group photos. Several conversations prior to the wedding resulted in everything we wanted to have photographed.
Pre-ceremony photos were absolutely perfect. Cliff captured the small details of the wedding (cake table, memorial to those we lost, etc.) including family, friends and all the special and intimate moments leading up to the ceremony.
The ceremony and reception photos were above and beyond our expectations. Cliff was able to capture the formal group photos, the fun bride/groom photos, and the candid photos of the entire wedding celebration. Our ceremony photos were stunning! Cliff captured the expressions and emotions of us and our wedding party (our 4 children) as well as the guests. Every moment of the ceremony was documented with incredible thought and detail going into every picture taken.
From the ceremony and into the reception, Cliff took the time to take incredible photos of me and my husband. He made me feel like a bride from a bridal magazine! He has an impeccable eye for the details and gifted vision for the perfect bride/groom photos.
We love the candid photos of us as well as our guests during the reception. The pure love, joy, and happiness is displayed in every shot. He captured the incredible band, the dancing, the intimate moment when my daughter cried while presenting a song she wrote to my husband, and so much more.
I really cannot say enough about how amazing Cliff Nichols is as a photographer. Honestly, he is the most professional, personable, talented, creative photographer who will give you quality AND quantity. They say your wedding is just “one day.” Cliff makes your wedding day the BEST day and his photos will make your wedding much more than just one day.

Family photos

I appreciate Cliff so much. We had planned on taking our family pictures outside by a local lake. When the scheduled day for our family pictures arrived it was raining out. We would not be able to reschedule because some of our family we’re in from out of town. Cliff quickly readjusted and offered to come to our home to capture our family pictures. He staged an area to take the pictures. I’m so grateful we were able to get them when everyone was home. We had so much fun doing them and they came out wonderful. Great memories.

Awesome Experience!

Cliff and his partner were so friendly and helpful with our guests! The quality of the photo booth photos were incredible! They have a wide variety of props which made it extra fun! We also had some regular photography which was great too! The wonderful memories we made were captured in the incredible photos taken! We can cherish them for years to come!

Awesome Photographer! Fun personality!

Just wanted to give a big shout out to Cliff for capturing amazing photos of our wedding. From the first day we met Cliff he was very easy to get up with and any question we had he answered them in a timely fashion while throwing in a few suggestions to make our wedding day run smoother. Cliff was great to work with!!!!!

First, let me say our wedding day flew by so fast. We really didn’t remember half of it until we got our photos from Cliff. He didn’t miss a thing; in fact, he took detailed photos of our venue neither one of us remembered. Cliff really pushed us to create an itinerary and a list of must have photos. He basically did everything and gave a lot of expert advice of things to consider we never thought about. Once we approved everything, he created a list that was sent to our wedding party so they would know what to expect. With our rowdy group of friends this really helped to keep things moving. Cliff has a great personality and our guest loved him. All our photos looked awesome and we have great memories of our wedding day! We highly recommend Cliff!!!

Wedding Photo Booth

We rented a photo booth from Cliff for my daughters wedding a few weeks ago. The guests had an absolute blast with the booth during the reception. Some of her guests are still talking about how much fun they had with photo booth. The newlyweds got a copy of every photo strip that was taken and they cherish them so much. There was a lot more prop choices for the people to use than other booths I've seen. Cliff was awesome to work with, he and Drew did a fantastic job helping our guests. The quality of the photos was definitely a higher quality than other photo booth strips I've experienced. I highly recommend Cliff Nichols for any of your photography needs.

Great Service!

Cliff did our engagement photos and he was awesome! He was super flexible and could show up last minute. The photos also came back super quick even though he went on vacation right after our engagement. The photos are adorable and he was really easy to work with even though we had a huge group of rambunctious guests there! We would recommend him to anyone.

Fantastic experience with Cliff Nichols, our photographer for our Wedding Celebration!

Cliff is fantastic...He is professional, friendly, and fun. Cliff did a great job in capturing our Wedding Celebration, taking candid shots (eg., all of the teenagers chatting in a circle), and posed pictures of each family unit and (somehow) all of us together, looking in the same direction...and no one complaining! Cliff is not intrusive, but fits in as one of the group. His resulting photographs, and a surprise video, are of he highest quality, and will always be a wonderful part of our memories of this special time in our lives!

My name is Joey Blethen and I work for the City of Tega Cay. We have used Cliff for many years to shoot our July 4th festivities along with other community events like Memorial and Veterans Day Ceremonies, Fall Festival, TCPD's Camp Cadet Program and TCFD Events. Cliff is a patient, detail orientated and provided us with so many high quality photos. He even surprised us with a video taken during the reception. Amazing photography!

Professional Wedding Photography

Cliff did an excellent job of photographing our wedding. He started by prescreening our venue and scouting out different locations on the property. Cliff took so many great shots with us it is so hard to decide which were our favorite. He met us at our site prior to the wedding to walk through shots we wanted, and on the day of our wedding he was like the energizer bunny capturing all the moments we will relive through his pictures. Cliff Nichols was our photographer November 2019 for a double baptism which was also a welcome home for a long deployed soldier and a family reunion all in one. Cliff worked with us for weeks beforehand to make this day as memorable as possible. Cliff was the perfect choice for us!

Cliff was so personable and easy to work with. He encouraged us to find examples of the types of shots we were interested in, and when he joined us on a site visit at the wedding location we practiced those shots to be sure they would work on the big day. Cliff has an intuitive sense of what works best for the couple. He listened well and made great suggestions. On the day of the wedding, he got there early to scope the setup and when we started the photo shoot everything went off without a hitch. He got every shot we wanted, and the photos were perfect! He gave us a quick turn-around on the final photos and made sure we were completely satisfied with the work. The price he charged was extremely fair for his level of high-touch service. Cliff really went above and beyond our expectations. I can't recommend him strongly enough!

Awesome photographer and photo booth company!

Bob & I got married on November 2, 2019. Cliff was highly recommended by one of our bridesmaids that had used him two years earlier. We both remember Cliff from their wedding and knew then we wanted to use his services for our event. We were also looking for a photo booth and Cliff was able to help us with that too. Cliff had the perfect back drop and props for our event. We couldn't have been more pleased with Cliff's professionalism and attention to detail. Fabulous Wedding Photographer

My husband and I selected Cliff Nichols as our photographer for our wedding on June 8th after much discussion on what we valued most in a photographer. Cliff proved to have all the assets we deemed important and ultimately exceeded our expectations!

Prior to the wedding, Cliff spent several hours with me in various phone conversations to discuss the wedding timeline, types of photos and picture poses we envisioned, and what family members/ friends we wanted in our pre- and post-ceremony photos. He was extremely thorough and detail-oriented in creating the photography timeline and list of key participants to include in the formal pictures and ensured we identified someone to help him round up the key people for pictures after the ceremony. Cliff has a knack for identifying some perfect scenes and poses to capture and notices amazing details that make his photography unique. Not to mention he has many years of experience in wedding photography (as well as videography) which shines through in his work and guidance throughout the process.

In addition to his amazing technical photography skills and experience, Cliff is extremely kind and warm and has a great sense of humor that our wedding party and guests enjoyed so much! He was incredibly friendly and fun-loving from our rehearsal until the last moment of our reception departure. I was completely comfortable and at ease with him since our initial phone conversation. We all felt as though he was part of our family by the end of the wedding and we were genuinely sad to see him leave!

Aside from his multitude of photography responsibilities, and based on his many years of wedding exposure, Cliff also provided us additional unsolicited wedding advice regarding our venue, makeup that photographs best, info on other talented wedding vendors he’s worked with (coordinators, videographers, etc.), rain plan (Plan B), and possibly the finest advice I’ve ever received.....to pause for a few moments prior to walking down the aisle and soak in all that is happening around me before taking those next big steps!

My husband and I were already so pleased with Cliff after our experiences with him before and during our wedding, but once we received all of our photos that he had individually reviewed and retouched as needed, we were incredibly pleased and happy with the final products. He delivered everything he promised and more by ensuring each photo was high quality and ready to share and display proudly for years to come! He even adjusted a small hair “flip” issue I had once I identified it in some pre-wedding photos and offered to edit that as much as possible in any of those pictures that I wanted to print/ share! :-)

Overall, my husband and I are truly grateful that we hired Cliff as our wedding photographer based on a recommendation, and we feel that we received an amazing value for our wedding photos. Cliff offered an extremely fair price for his photography and delivered his service with the utmost professionalism, friendliness, and fun! We would highly recommend him to other brides and grooms-to-be who are seeking a highly skilled, experienced, thorough, kind, light-hearted, and positive photographer! I plan to contact Cliff for other significant life events and celebrations for which we need professional photography in the future!

Won’t find a better photographer

Cliff did an amazing job at my wedding. I have a big family and he did well working with many different directions. He shot some of my favorite pictures of myself and truly captured the beauty of my wedding. I’m grateful to have had him!

Awesome Photography and Photo Booth!

We hired Cliff for our Wedding and couldn't have been more happy. From day one he was there to answer any of my questions and had a ton of great ideas that helped made our day a huge success. Planning a wedding from out of town wasn't supposed to be easy but Cliff literally took control and we had an amazing wedding on Lake Norman. Great Photographer

Cliff did a wonderful family portrait for us. My grandmother was in town from California over Thanksgiving, and Cliff worked us in on Thanksgiving Day to take the portrait. Cliff is The Man and an Amazing Photographer

Cliff was a fabulous and meticulous wedding photographer. From the moment we met, we could tell he had a passion for photography that carried through his work. He put us ease right from the beginning by walking us through what to expect, answering our endless number of questions with sincerity and even taking a sample photograph to show us the first time we met him.

Cliff didn't just disappear until the wedding day after we signed our contract. Rather, he took the time to call my (now) wife and both of our parents to ensure he had a list of all the "must have" photos. He helped us organize the first look shots during the rehearsal, so nothing was left to question on our big day.

After our wedding, Cliff immediately (literally that night) sent us a sample of the pictures he took and edited. They turned out beautifully and we felt like we really got more than the value we bargained. I would hire him again for another event if the opportunity presented itself.

10/10 across the board for work ethic, kindness, engagement and fun!

Some great photos beginning with our arrival through the end of the evening. Pics were a good mix of bride and groom, the venue, family, friends, candid and posed, close-ups of important moments. Dave and I want to give Cliff Nichols a well deserved shout out for capturing our wedding exactly the way we had hoped. Cliff spent a lot of time with us going over details we didn't even think about. When our wedding day finally arrived we knew Cliff would have us covered. And boy did he, right from the beginning of the day until our final exit. Our photos are stunning. So many guest wanted to know who our photographer was stating how hard he worked yet was so fun to talk to. Cliff has a great personality and really knows how to communicate with children and adults to get their best smile. Thank you Cliff for everything you did to make our wedding the best it could be! Cliff was fantastic. I wasn't sure as a groom what to expect during the wedding photography process. He kept things very relaxed while also clearly directing us towards the shots we had requested. Everything requested specifically by our wedding party was accomplished as well as any improv moments we felt like throwing in there. Results were fantastic as well as the price.

Cliff was amazing to work with before and during my wedding in May!!! So accommodating and easy to work with. My son and his wife hired Cliff Nichols as their photographer for their December 2017 wedding at the Dairy Barn in Fort Mill. From start to finish Cliff was wonderful to work with. The couple lives in Fairfax VA and working with a local vendor could have been challenging but Cliff made it easy. From introductory phone calls, to meeting them in April for an engagement session to their wedding day communication lines were always open. Cliff took time with the couple to understand exactly what types of photos they wanted. Casual or formal. The photos below are are just a small sample of the fabulous moments Cliff captured that evening. We highly recommend Cliff Nichols Photography!

I am so very glad that we had the benefit of hiring Cliff Nichols for our daughter's wedding photography this last Saturday, 10/14/17.
He had been referred to us by several important sources mainly the Caterer - La Tea Da's in Charlotte, and our Reception Venue - The Magnolia Room. Both said he was creative, easy to work with, and very professional. We found him to be all of the above and more. He had so many great ideas to capture the essence of the whole day coming early to the church through the sparkler exit at the end of the night. He has the ability to connect with the groomsmen, the bridesmaids, different family members and everyone enjoyed themselves as he perfectly coaxed laughter, real smiles and perfect poses. He caught a lot of great candid shots of important family members and friends too.Cliff showed me several pictures as he took them and I was very pleased with what he was recording. He did a walk through at the church early on and scouted out spots for interesting pictures for both before and after the wedding ceremony. He knew how to work with the different and changing lighting conditions with the massive stained glass windows at the church.
He has several different packages to choose from, and I thought they were all excellent values for the money. My daughter had a beautiful wedding, and now we all will have the pictures to remember it by. I will be adding some to this review as we get the pictures, but the wadding was just 2 days ago.

Cliff was great to work with and our photos were everything we had hoped for. Cliff helped us plan our day and gave us tips and ideas we had never thought about. Cliff put together an itinerary that we emailed to our bridal party so they would know what to expect and when photos were going to be taken. Cliff worked hard but and kept a smile all day. Our guest loved him.

It has been a great experience working with Cliff to plan our upcoming wedding. He was excited and positive when we met at our venue to take engagement photos. My fiancé and I had never had professional pictures taken before, but he was patient and encouraging and worked hard to help us get great shots. The turnaround on the pictures was quick (maybe about a week), and we love them. Cliff's services are a great value. He has excellent communication with clients and is dedicated to taking pictures that couples will cherish.

Cliff is photographing our December wedding but has already taken engagement photos for us. He was very eager to meet with us and get to know us, and from the moment we met him we could tell we were in good hands. He obviously knows his craft and is happy to work with couples to plan the timing of their big day to make sure he can capture all the special moments. We love our engagement photos, and even though we had never done anything like that before, we felt at ease taking them with Cliff. We are planning our wedding long distance, but communication with Cliff has been open and easy, and he was more than willing to work within the small window of time we had to do the engagement photos.

Cliff was amazing!! I would highly recommend him without reservation!
His website explains all of the packages he offers which was super helpful when we were looking for a photographer, and very reasonably priced for the pictures you get! During the planning process Cliff was very organized and responsive, he truly cared about getting the shots we wanted from our wedding and making that happen. He followed up before the wedding with the venue to make sure he had a good timeline for us.

My husband and I just finished up going through the pictures and we couldn't be happier, Cliff was able to capture all of the important moments as well as some great candid pictures from the reception!! We had a blast with Cliff and will be recommending him to anyone we know having a wedding in the area! :D

Cliff Nichols photography is highly recommended. Cliff is extremely accommodating and will stop at nothing to make you happy! I wanted to plan far in advance, but Cliff put my mind at ease that everything would go according to plan. He is very organized and stuck to the agenda. He came up with suggestions when I got stuck, and was open to my ideas to make everything as perfect as I wanted it to be. I would like to start this review off by saying this experience was amazing and couldn’t have asked for more. As like most men I went into this planning of a wedding clueless and excited to be involved in our big day. We started off like most just writing down possible locations, invitations, florist, and etc.… When we started searching for a photographer and I have to be honest here I really didn’t see where one or the other made a big deal. I was looking at the price and not the quality. Guys, listen to me right now and do not go cheap on this part because this is a big day for the love of your life and for you. A moment to capture a moment in time that you both can relive. I’m so glad we decided with Cliff because not only do you get AMAZING photos but you get an absolute great person. I do not know how this day would of went if we didn’t have Cliff. He was professional, caring, and completely in tuned with what we wanted. He went out of his way several times just too either accommodate us or just to make sure he got the shot. The pictures came out amazing and just breath taking. Cliff, Thank you for all you did for us and I will never forget it.

Cliff was amazing to work with. He was extremely thorough before, during and after the wedding. We spent a lot of time preparing for the day on the phone because we were long distance. Cliff made sure we had everything in place and that a timeline was created to help be more efficient. In order to make sure Cliff knew the best locations for pictures at our venue, Cliff came to our rehearsal to walk the grounds and practice certain poses. The day went so smooth and there were zero stresses. Within two weeks, were given over 1,000 amazing photos that we will cherish forever. We highly recommend Cliff!

Cliff was simply top notch. From the introductory call until delivery of the photos, he was an extremely valuable resource to navigate the wedding and photography process while allowing us to still "own it." He's someone that runs his business with a client-first attitude, unlike 99% of the photographers to whom we spoke. Even though he knew our venue, he was there the day of the rehearsal fine tuning his strategy on wedding day shots to ensure he had the perfect game plan. Importantly, he was able to do this independently and only catch us up at the end of the rehearsal for a brief review (the bride and groom are running around enough as is, so this was extremely helpful!).

Day of the wedding, Cliff was fantastic. He is able to effectively balance his fun and energetic personality with a "get it done" attitude to work in tight timelines effectively. What did that mean for us? We got all of our shots in, and still had a blast doing it! He only added to the energy during the reception, and you can see such energy through his pictures.

Post-Wedding: I've heard too many horror stories of friends not receiving their pictures and/or video months or years after their wedding. Cliff started cranking on our photos seemingly right after the wedding. He never sacrificed quality for speed, and he kept us updated as he progressed through the photos. We received the photos very quickly. More importantly, they were impeccable.

In summary, we would put our reputation on Cliff for any event. He is someone who will bend over backwards to help you, and he will get it done at a best in class level - not too many vendors will offer this level of commitment and skill together.

As parents of the bride, we would highly recommend Cliff to everyone for his quality and professionalism. He had never shot pictures at our venue so he came to the rehearsal to learn the area, at his cost, and was with us for over 6 hours for the wedding and reception. He took over 1100 pictures and the quality was excellent.
Within 15 days after the wedding, the pictures were ready and he delivered the pictures on 2 high quality discs with waivers that allow us to have pictures printed. Cliff sent discs to the bride and groom, parents of the bride and the parents of the groom. The discs were categorized by event (pre-wedding, wedding, reception, etc.). Overall, a great experience!
In addition and most importantly, his price was extremely competitive. Dollars well spent.

From the day I got engaged people would ask me what was one of the most important things about planning my wedding and I immediately would respond with MY PICTURES! Cliff just recently photographed my bridal portraits in May at the Vanlandingham Estate in Charlotte, NC and I am at a lost for words on how well everything went and especially how my bridal portraits turned out. Each picture he took, he took his time. We were there for over 3 hours, not to mention it was 90 degrees, and Cliff was nothing but excited and happy and most importantly helping me to get the perfect shot! He is very flexible and is on time! He actually got to the vanlandingham 30 minutes earlier than me to walk to grounds to find the best picture spot! He truly has been great and I cannot wait to see how our actual wedding day photos turn out in September! I would recommend Cliff to anyone!

Cliff took our photos and was willing to work with us just 2 days before Christmas. He was on time (actually he came early to scope out the site and find good photo op locations). Cliff took special care to take all of the formals we asked for, candid/action shots, and special detail shots that we had not even thought of. He took one picture of our rings, laid out over our vows, that was absolutely amazing. The shadows of our rings actually was in the shape of a heart! Cliff was somehow able to take shots during the ceremony from all angles, within a small space, without even being noticed. Cliff also spent extra time during the editing process to photo shop out a small scar over my eye that I accidentally acquired 2 weeks before the wedding! His rates are reasonable and he is willing to work with you and your needs/budget. I would definitely recommend using him for your wedding photos.

After a great deal of researching Charlotte area photographers, I selected Cliff to photograph my daughter's wedding. I was looking for someone whose work was top notch and included both traditional shots, without being old, boring, and stodgy, AND also included creative, unique shots. Cliff's work encompassed all of this. In addition, one of the MOST important factors was receiving a fully edited, high resolution DVD with personal printing rights of all our photos so the wedding party and guests could select and print their own photos or create their own albums without me collecting names, sizes of prints etc., overseeing the orders and then distributing them. This was included in our package and I was thrilled with the quality of the photos. Another factor was price. Cliff was very reasonable and I wasn't paying for extras that I really didn't want.

Cliff was very easy to work with and extremely knowledgeable of wedding logistics. He worked closely with me before the wedding to assure that he captured all the photos that were important to us. Sometimes I felt like he was being too detailed, but he absolutely knew what he was doing because the wedding day flowed smoothly. Besides the pre-arranged photos he caught innumerable shots of the event, location, people, ceremony, etc.

I also hired Cliff to take shots of the rehearsal and rehearsal dinner. While a bit of a luxury decision, I wanted to remember these events too and it enabled Cliff with an opportunity to acquaint himself with the wedding party, the ceremony flow, and the layout of the location. Because we were staying at the event location, he was also able to take some of the set up shots (such as photos of the dress, shoes, etc.) the evening before, leaving more time the next day for personal photos.

I would highly recommend Cliff as a wedding photographer and would not hesitate to use his services again.

I don't review things online but Cliff is the exception after the fantastic job he did at our wedding. I would highly suggest him if you are looking for a professional, cost effective and talented photographer for your wedding day.

He was great to work with, punctual, easy going and I don't think I ever saw him take a break during our wedding day. My family even mentioned to me what a hard worker he was.

A few additional things of note:
- Cliff helped direct my wife and I with moments like cutting the cake, first entrance and the best man toast. We did not have a wedding director for the day so having Cliff step up and take on this additional role was such a huge help to us and gave us one less thing to worry about that day.
- He came to our rehearsal ceremony and helped position us exactly where the best photos could be taken
- He created a pre and post ceremony shot list so that everyone is aware of what photos will be taken, where they will be taken and when. This helps out with scheduling the entire day and is a tremendous help if you don't have a wedding coordinator.

Cliff was great to work with. He was well organized. Prior to our wedding he put together an itinerary that gave us structure for the day. Cliff's personality was a plus and all of our guest commented how personable he was. We knew the quality of our photos were going to be great but they exceeded our expectations. He captured everything he said he would and surprised us with photos we didn't expect.

Mark and I looked at several photographers before choosing Cliff. To be honest we knew in 3 minutes Cliff was our guy. He was the only photographer that "listened" to our needs and immediately offered suggestions on how to achieve them.

I cannot say enough good things about Cliff Nichlos! I found him using this very site and something told me "I have got to call this guy", I was so happy I did. Cliff made it easy, from the beginning I felt like I had known him forever. Together we planned how I wanted the photography to go, which pictures I thought were must-haves, and how I liked the "in the moment shots". As the wedding got closer, we were emailing and calling back and forth so everyone was on the same page and there was NO stress wedding day with pictures. He was great with my husband who HATES taking pictures and even managed to capture many smiles from him! People at the wedding commented to me how he was working so hard and getting lots of great shots. When I saw the shots he took, I was floored and that we able to relive the entire day. I even got a "Good morning Mrs.Elliott, here is one of my favorite shots" email the next morning. I would HIGHLY reccomended him, after the wedding, many years later, you can look at these pictures and be brought back to your wedding day.

Cliff is an excellent photographer! His professionalism and dedication to providing his clients with the best service demonstrates his excellence. Cliff is a perfectionist when it comes to photos, your photos will always exceed your expectations! He is time efficient and that is one thing I really enjoyed as a bride! He does an amazing job in a timely manner! My family would have claimed him as he is very cordial and caring! When I looked through my photos for the first time with my husband we just felt like we were right there again. We felt an overwhelming love! Cliff captured our love and now we can open up our photo album when we are older to show our great grandchildren our love story. Thank you for providing us with memories that will never be forgotten! Also, everyone laughed over the fun shots...another great quality Cliff has. I could go on and on !!!

Cliff Nichols is a very talented photographer who pays close attention to detail. He captured every memorable moment. Many individual, group, cake, and flower photos are magazine quality. Cliff is easy to work with and took some great photos of the groom's camera shy mother. Priceless. Cliff's work is a permanent collection of beautiful photos of a true southern wedding. Well done!

The way Cliff captured the events of our big day is just amazing. We had so much fun watching the pictures, because they took us right back to some very special memories. David & I both absolutely love our pictures we both feel like he captured the emotion of the day, we could not be happier. We will remember our wedding day for years to come. Of course we would work with Cliff again and he is highly recommended to our family, friends and everybody else.

I hired Cliff Nichols Photography to take pictures at my wedding in 2012. My wife and I are both from out of town but decided to have our wedding in Charlotte NC. Dealing with planning a wedding in the city you live in is difficult but planning one in another city is extremely stressful. Cliff helped us through all the pitfalls of photographing the wedding and proceeded to assist us with all the other aspects that make a wedding possible. He suggested a DJ, Cleric, Flower shops, etc. He went above and beyond what any other vendor would have and all for a very reasonable price. He coordinated all the various vendors, started taking photos early and did not leave the event until my wife and I did. That never happens with a photographer. If you are looking for a class act with lots of experience at a competitive price call Cliff Nichols Photography.

I hired Cliff Nichols Photography to commemorate my daughters wedding. I was introduced to Cliff through a friend who had hred Cliff to do a wedding and was familiar with his work. He raved about his great attitude, attention to detail, his professionalism, his knowledge of his craft and locations and his reasonable prices. I usually don't believe half of the things I hear from friends or family but in this case he was right. I met with Cliff in October and explained to him everything I wanted and expected of him. From that point on Cliff took over and I did not have to worry about a thing regarding photography. He coordinated his services with the Event Planner, Caterer Limo Driver and DJ/MC. On the day of the wedding everything went as planned and better than expected. His work was A+ and I would not hesitate to use his services again.

I LOVE my pictures and video! They're perfect! Cliff worked so hard to make sure I had every shot we wanted and was great to work with. Even wore a suit jacket and tie to work in. Lots of photographers wear jeans and lounge wear and I think it's so tacky. Great personality and everyone loved him. I made the perfect choice for my wedding. Everyone went crazy on Facebook when I started posting my pictures. Thanks Cliff!

I don't usually write reviews but I just need to do my part to help a sister out - during this "crazy" wedding planning time.

Simply stated - Cliff gets it. From the moment we met Cliff, it just felt right. Cliff is a dream to work with, he has a special ability to connect with people and understand what they want. From the first meeting with Cliff, we felt like we were having a glass of wine with a lifelong friend on our living room sofa. We were looking for a "simple and elegant" way to capture the emotion and energy of our wedding day. He totally he blew us away -WOW!

Cliff paid special attention to detail in the pre-planning process and made it a breeze for us. He took time to understand our wishes and desires and oriented us to the process of how he would capture these on film. He is incredibly intuitive, and anticipated our needs as well as the needs of others in our wedding party and family. He has a great sense of humor, we had a great time with him and he made it really fun for everybody.

Cliff's ability to capture the essence of our wedding and present it in an almost surreal story, is mind blowing. Best money we spent on our wedding - was Cliff Nichols. Do yourself a favor and check this off your list - hire Cliff and relax.

My wife and I conducted a fairly exhaustive search of wedding photographers in the Charlotte area for our wedding and after a few other interviews we picked Cliff to do our wedding right after we met with him. In picking a photographer we were most concerned about finding someone who was going to be in the right places at the right times to capture the event, with Cliff we got that at more. We ran across several photographers who were equally qualified in portrait photography, but felt others portfolios missed the feeling of the event as a whole. This was one of the many expectations that Cliff not only met but exceeded. One of our other wishes was to find a photographer willing to release the digital images to us right away for a reasonable price. Many photographers will not even consider this and most that do want unrealistic prices for the option. Cliff provided a packaged for us that included the digital negatives for a very reasonable price. For the competitive prices Cliff offers for his work, his professionalism and quality of work surpass those charging a lot more. You cannot go wrong working with Cliff.

Wow, what a great photographer Cliff Nichols proved to be for our daughter's wedding! Cliff planned every picture in advance with me (the bride's mom) on the phone and through email exchanges and had wonderful advice and suggestions to help along the way. His experience, comfort with the whole wedding process and strong customer service ethics was evident from the start. Weddings can often be stressful times but Cliff kept everything running smoothly and efficiently, all while keeping a calm facade and humor throughout. Once we received the picture disc we were blown away by the gorgeous pictures, unique and artistic quality in each and every photo!!! One of my favorites was of my daughter, looking at a handheld mirror into a bigger mirror to see herself from all views right before walking down the ailse with her Dad....breathtaking. One special day preserved for a lifetime. I am so grateful to Cliff Nichols for a memorable experience.

I would most definitely recommend Cliff Nichols as your photographer for your special day, hands down! My husband and I had Cliff take our engagement photos and our wedding day photos and we couldn't be more pleased! Cliff was wonderful to work with. Even during our engagement shoot, I was surprised at how many photos we had to choose from! His professionalism is unmatched and Cliff goes that extra mile that most would not. He stayed to make sure we got all of the pictures we wanted & our guests even commented on how impressed they were that he stayed when most photographers would have left. He was upfront and honest and we appreciated all of his professional recommendations. His creativity and photography skills will no doubt give you pictures that will capture all the special moments of your wedding day. It was so fun and exciting to look through our wedding album and see all of the moments of that day captured so beautifully, both formals and candids. We enjoyed working with Cliff. He did our engagement photos and the wedding ceremony/reception photos. In both cases he was very good to work with. He is very detail oriented and wants to make sure a picture is just right (lighting, background, etc.). He will surprise you and take photos you did not expect and they will still be good. He has a good eye for photos to take. Prior to the wedding we talked about the different types of photos to take before, during, and after the ceremony, and during the reception. He really tried to make sure we got the photos we wanted, and we did. When we had questions he responded quickly via phone or email. During our big day he blended in well with the guests. With the many shots to take he stayed busy. We also had a very tight timeline to work with, but we still got close to 800 photos. I would highly recommend Cliff to anyone who needs a photographer for their wedding!

Cliff Nichols is an amazing photographer! He is wonderful at what he does and it truly reflects in his work. Cliff's work ethic is outstanding! Our wedding was September 10, 2011 and I could not have asked for anything better. Cliff showed up at our rehearsal to get shots of the church which we originally hadn't planned. He showed up the day of the wedding hours before the service began to ensure that he captured all the shots we had originally talked about (and a few cute surprises too). Pictures during the ceremony were from all angles and he was never in the way. My guests said they never even saw him. We were on a time crunch for all the formal shots but Cliff was on his game with moving everyone around and getting all the formal shots. We had a blast on the Tega Cay golf course and the pictures turned out beautifully. Cliff's prices are very affordable to other people in the area and his quality of work, in my opinion, is beyond what you are paying for. Cliff edited all the pictures he took and in a few weeks we had over 800 pictures on a customized CD. Cliff Nichols is wonderful at what he does and can take the burden of finding that perfect photographer off your shoulders.

My son, Jason, and daughter in-law, Erin were married on March 20-2010 at the Charlotte City Club. Cliff Nichols was our photographer of choice for the following reasons. He started his assignment approx. (1) year prior to the wedding. He helped me out with his wealth of knowledge, experience and contacts within the wedding industry. Cliff answered any and all questions that my family had and explained the process so effectively and in detail that all worries were put to rest. On the day of the wedding Cliff showed up several hours early and met with the Managers and staff members at the venue and assured us that everyone was on the same page. He later met with the MC/DJ and the Minister to coordinate the seemless transition from Religous Ceremony to Celebration so that he could memorialize the moments on film. He worked all day photographing the Bridal Party both inside the Venue and outside on the beautiful streets and sidewalks of Charlotte, N.C. Many photographers depend on staged photographs to make up a majority of their portfolio. Cliff uses a blend which also includes the natural and real responses of people enjoying themselves at one of the most important events of your lifetime. Jason and Erins wedding went into overtime and it was no surprise to me that Cliff Nichols hung in there until the very last minute. This was literally a twelve (12) hour day for Cliff. The post wedding communication between Jason and Cliff were minimal due to Cliffs professional work ethics. He advised us of the progress and set an approximate date for the completion and delivery of the finished product. His date of completion was earlier than predicted. I have recently contracted "Cliff Nichols Photography" for my second sons wedding in May 2012. This will give me and my children, piece of mind, and allow us to concentrate on other aspects of the wedding planning.

Cliff was everything I could have asked for in a photographer. He met with my husband and I a year before we were married to go over our ideas. He followed up with us many times through out the year to let us know that he was excited to photogragh our wedding. He also gave me great referrals for a minister and music. My husband and I got married at the Charlotte City Club and Cliff knew the venue very well. He knew where to get really good photographs inside and outside. He has a very strong work ethic. He made a point to not miss any moments of our ceremony or reception. He even got up on chairs to get some really great shots of our family dancing. I honestly couldn't have asked for a better photographer. Not only is he extremely professional and punctual, he is an all around great person. He gets along with any type of personality. I would highly recommend Cliff for any bride who is about to have one of the most special days of her life..he will truly capture the moment for you!

Cliff was an excellent choice. My wife and I put together our wedding in a little over 3 months on a very tight budget. Cliff was able to give us a package we could afford and was more than willing to work with us on our timeline to make sure that our wedding ran smoothly. He was an incredible source of knowledge not just about photography but event planning. He worked with our wedding coordinator to ensure that on the wedding day everyone was on the same page and everything ran smoothly. He met with us several times beforehand to showcase his work, discuss special shots, and to scout out the venue and select the best locations for pictures. On the day of the wedding he was practically invisible. When our pictures arrived, my wife and I were pleased to see that he had captured so many quality shots and the feelings of the day. I couldn't have found a better, easier to work with photographer.

Cliff was an incredible wedding photographer! My husband I were married at The Morehead Inn in Charlotte, NC on September 25, 2010. I was impressed by Cliff's professionalism and also his attention to detail. We were on a very tight timeline with our photographs between the ceremony and the reception, and Cliff made sure that we got all the formal and informal shots we wanted and then some. He worked with my husband and I before the big day to discuss the types of shots we wanted, and he always responded quickly to emails, phone calls, etc. Prior to the wedding, Cliff helped me make a list of special photos I wanted during the reception (with childhood friends, sorority sisters, etc.) and he made sure that they happened. The quality of his photographs was exceptional as well. I was really amazed by his ability to get amazing pictures while being unobtrusive, he was never ever in the way. Cliff also took pictures from multiple angles and perspectives which I appreciated. In addition, we were planning our wedding on a budget and Cliff offered us the best photography package at the best rate. He even worked a bit overtime for us on that day to capture everything and didn't charge us for the extra time. Following the wedding, he took the time to edit all of our photos individually, and sent us the best pictures over email right away. Shortly thereafter, we received a CD of 600 plus edited images that we have been able to turn into professional wedding albums for our family members on our own. Cliff's photos really captured the joy and energy of our wedding day and I will always treasure them.

Cliff was great to work with. He took all of the pictures that I asked him to and then had great creative ideas for additional pictures. He was very helpful with direction as well and definitely made things run more smoothly. I would recommend him to anyone!

Cliff was an amazing photographer! He got wonderful shots of our rehearsal, wedding and ceremony as well as formal family shots. He was a joy to have around even though I barely remember seeing him, however the moments I remember were comfortable, fun and professional. He was respectful of myself and especially my mother and made sure that we got everything we wanted. He did a GREAT JOB!

50th Anniversary Party

Since I was very pleased with Cliff when he did my wedding in 1995, I hired him again in 2019 to photograph my parents’ 50th Wedding Anniversary Party. Over the years, he’s just gotten better, and I couldn’t have been happier! Before the event, he communicated well. He answered all of my questions and asked me for details about the party so that he would be prepared. He told me that he would get to the venue early so that he could get pictures of it and the decorations. I appreciated that he arrived when he said he would. He got a variety of candids and group photos. Some were taken inside, and others were taken outside. He was very knowledgeable about lightening and where to get the best pictures. I liked that he brought his own ladder so that he could get at an angle to get all of the faces in the group shots. It was very hot and humid outside, so I was grateful that he was efficient in getting the people posed and the pictures taken. He was very patient with the older family members who took a while to get positioned and with the children who wouldn’t stay in position. He never complained or seemed frustrated. I gave him a list of pictures that we wanted, and he got them all. He was very accommodating. The guests stayed longer than planned, and Cliff stayed too. I was impressed that he didn’t just leave when our agreed upon time was done. I received the edited photos on a thumb drive about 3 weeks after the party, and we were all very happy with them. I’m so glad that I hired Cliff to capture this once in a lifetime event!
