Couldn't have picked a better venue out of a fairytale!

My husband and I were married at Claxton in July 2021, and the experience was beyond amazing. Claxton’s whole team worked closely with us and our planner right up to the day of the event making sure everything was perfect. Emily made the planning process easy and enjoyable. She was responsive and flexible, and went out of her way to accommodate any and all requests. The staff onsite the day of was anticipatory and responsive (shoutout to Jackie on being there throughout the night to make sure we ate and always had full drinks)! The food is catered through the company that owns the venue, M7 Events, and it was excellent! We went with a BBQ theme for dinner with the smoked chicken and chopped beef brisket with corn pudding and green beans and it was SO good! For apps we did the bacon wrapped shrimp (DELISH), caprese bites and fried tomato biscuits - our guests are still commenting on how delicious it all was. Finally, the venue was beautiful with its lush green grass, gorgeous willow tree and stunning mountainous backdrop. Chocolate Chip (the llama) and the other animals on the farm were an absolute hit with guests too! The fire pit and smores situation was an amazing add-on to desserts along with our wedding cake! It was absolutely beyond anything we had envisioned and we cannot recommend Claxton Farm enough!

Our perfect venue

We had the most incredible experience hosting our wedding at Claxton Farm in May 2026! We are from out of town and came down in June 2025 to explore venues; Claxton was the first of five venues we visited and we immediately fell in love. The view as you turn the corner from the barn to the wide open field on a sunny day is breathtaking -- we couldn't imagine getting married anywhere else.

Molly and Emily were our venue coordinators through the year-long planning process and made the entire process easy and enjoyable. They suggested vendors for us and gave recommendations on rentals, food, dress steamers, etc. We came down in December 2025 for our tasting and rentals selections and they helped us craft a menu that accommodated our guests' dietary restrictions. They also did a lovely job guiding us on the rental items / smaller pieces where we didn't have opinions but still wanted to look nice. They were quick to answer all questions and were a huge asset to the planning process. We could not have done it without them! It was a huge relief to have M7 centrally helping with catering, rentals, staff, and entertainment -- it really took the stress off planning an out of town wedding.

Our day-of wedding coordinators Leslie and Allie Marie were incredible. They organized a great rehearsal the day before and were on top of everything the day of -- they helped set up before the ceremony, made sure we were fed, and kept us hydrated all evening. They were truly a delight and made sure we didn't have to worry about anything.

Finally, I cannot stress enough the beauty of the venue itself. We looked at many venues before deciding on Claxton, and Claxton was the only venue that had close proximity to Asheville with mountain views. Even though you are only a 15-minute drive from downtown Asheville, the venue is nestled in the mountains and gives you a full 360-degree view of nature (this was important to us and why we chose Asheville in the first place!). The sunset on the hills overlooking the field was incredible and we kept saying how we never wanted to leave even when the day was ending.

Some general things we discovered along the way that could help helpful to future brides:
- There is an area for brides to get ready on the property; I was able to drop off my dress during our rehearsal the day before so I didn't need to worry about the dress getting wrinkled -- took it straight from the steamers to the venue and it worked out perfectly! The bridal area is air-conditioned. We also dropped off most of our things the day before which again really helped keep the day itself calm and centered
- M7 had great vendor recommendations across the area -- they booked our DJ and bluegrass band for entertainment and it was so nice being able to trust their opinion / have one less decision to make
- Lots of delighters for the guests -- the venue has an old tractor that was very popular for guest photos and we even did a s'mores bonfire
- We had a larger guest list (150) and had a tent for the dinner portion of the day; I ended up really appreciating the tent as it added a touch of modernity and elegance to the pastoral space
- We made a last-minute call two days before to order parasols for the ceremony as it was going to be a hot day, and our guests really appreciated it
- We did sunset photos in a little wheat field behind the venue and it ended up being some of my favorite photos from the day!

The combination of the amazing staff at M7 and the mountain / nature views made Claxton the perfect place for our perfect day. We wish we could come back again and get married all over again!

Wedding of our dreams at Claxton Farm

Our wedding day at Claxton Farm was everything we dreamed of and more. I had it on my radar since before getting engaged as it was recommended to me, and it ended up being the only venue we toured — that’s how sure we were! The moment we stepped onto the property, we felt an overwhelming sense of peace and just knew it was where we were meant to say “I do.”

The setting instantly captured our hearts. Surrounded by mountains and nature, Claxton Farm is truly the idyllic Asheville venue. From ducks gliding on the pond, to sweeping willow trees, to goats who completely stole the show! We feel so incredibly lucky to have been married here.

Claxton Farm delivered not just a stunning setting, but a full experience that felt effortless, joyful, and completely us.

Emily and Molly made the planning process seamless with their professional and thorough communication. They helped keep me calm throughout all of the decisions and planning, always reassuring me that it was all going to work out. On the day itself, our coordinator Jackie ran everything like an absolute boss — calm, efficient, and on top of every detail. From a drink in our hands to food on our plates (and making sure our vendors were fed!), we didn’t have to worry about a thing. That allowed us to be fully present and soak in every moment.

We chose a variety of passed hors d'oeuvres for cocktail hour and barbecue for dinner and all of it was incredible! Our guests are still raving about it and I'm still thinking about the mac and cheese!

Claxton Farm exceeded every expectation and we'll cherish our wedding day for the rest of our lives.

Without a doubt, we'd choose Claxton Farm a thousand times over!

I cannot recommend Claxton Farm enough!!

We knew this was the venue of our dreams without even touring the facility! We could not have asked for more beautiful scenery or a more professional and accommodating staff. Miss Jackie literally made our wedding day a seamless, stress free experience. We would chose Claxton over and over again!

The best location and venue for your special day!

Having our wedding at Claxton Farms was perfect and beautiful! Everything from the planning and organizing, to the actual day of our ceremony and reception there was perfect and so easy going. Emily, the sales representative, was AMAZING! She was great about quickly communicating and answering every question that we had during the planning process. She was very helpful and very sweet. She really made the planning and timeline easily understandable and clear. I cannot thank her enough for her awesome communication and transparency.

Once it came down to our wedding weekend, I do not have one bad thing to say. We did our rehearsal at Claxton Farms the night before and it went great! Jackie was assigned to us as our bridal attendant and we cannot say enough good things about her. Claxton really is doing it right with assigning bridal attendants the day of the wedding to help out with everything. At first I wasn’t sure what her role was, but I soon found out that her role was to make us feel comfortable and make everything transition with ease. She helped get our guests where they needed to be, from getting them to their seats for the ceremony to taking pictures to the reception to the first dance, cake cutting and so on. She helped get our family and friends out for pictures after the ceremony and always made sure we had a drink or appetizer or whatever we needed as we made our rounds to get pictures and talk with everyone. She was SOO AMAZING and so sweet! Our wedding would not have been so perfect without her! And I can’t forget to mention how GORGEOUS the venue was! It was everything I dreamed about and more! Being surrounded by the blue ridge mountains and their farm land provided endless breath-taking views. Our family and friends can not stop talking about the venue and how perfect and beautiful everything was. It was hands down, the best decision having our wedding at Claxton Farms. Thank you, Claxton and all your wonderful staff! :-)

Claxton Farm is an idyllic wedding setting

Our daughter's wedding at Claxton Farm was absolutely gorgeous. The scenery, the barn, everything together made for a fairytale setting for a perfect evening. We loved working with Emily on planning the event, and the team did a fantastic job.

Amazing Venue and Staff

My husband and I fell in love with Claxton the moment we first saw it and knew that we found the spot we wanted to get married. We were planning our day ourselves and Emily, Kayleigh, and all the Claxton staff was amazing. Emily was super responsive and answered any questions we had (and we had a lot!). The process of making decision was easy and streamlined and we loved that Claxton could help us streamline the planning. They require the use of in-house catering, which can be a turn off for some while looking at venues, but the food was amazing. Our guests raved about our cocktail hour charcuterie table and all of the buffet options. As outdoorsy people, we loved that we could have both a beautiful indoor space for our reception, and also the spectacular outdoor area for our ceremony. It was a cool October evening, so the fire and s'mores for our guests were a big hit. Claxton could not have made the planning process any easier and the staff on the day of was spectacular - they took care of everything and then some. We would hands-down, and without hesitation recommend Claxton Farm to anyone! In fact, one of my co-workers son's went to visit after hearing how much we loved it and are now planning a wedding there for next Spring!

Beautiful Venue

I can’t even put into words how great Claxton was. I had never been to Asheville before, let alone visit the venue, so to say I was nervous would be an understatement. However, Emily was the most responsive and helpful person I think I’ve ever talked to. I changed my mind 100 times and she was so sweet every time. When I finally got to the venue, I was blown away. The pictures really don’t do it justice. It’s absolutely beautiful. And my bridal attendant Jackie was on top of everything. Fixing my hair and dress for every photo, making sure I had a drink in hand, taking care of everything that I wouldn’t have even thought of. My day was seriously perfect and I would choose Claxton over and over again!!

Claxton farms was nothing short of perfect, from their quick responsiveness, ability to figure anything out for me and just making me feel special in general.
Me and my now husband had a BLAST celebrating our love at their venue. I would 100% recommend them anyone in the area or even out of state like us looking for an outstanding venue.

Fairy tale

Fairy tale. That is the word my daughter used to describe her wedding at Claxton Farm. The venue is breathtaking, even in the rain, and the staff worked tirelessly to make sure everything ran smoothly. The office staff, who organized the wedding details ahead of time was stellar. I just couldn't believe the responsiveness, care and patience Emily gave no matter how many questions or requests I had. She worked with me to ensure we took every precaution we could to keep guests safe during this pandemic. I would recommend Claxton Farm to anyone looking for a perfect wedding venue!

Claxton Farm helped make our wedding day magical!

Claxton Farm was incredible throughout the entire planning process. They told us everything we needed to know, they gave incredible suggestions and worked with us on every detail to make our wedding a dream come true. Come the day of the wedding, everything clicked together perfectly, in big part because of Claxton's staff, who were extremely professional. Our bridal attendant, Candace, was so sweet and kind, she took responsibility for nearly everything on the day so that we could enjoy ourselves and celebrate in the love of our marriage. Weeks later and we're both still stunned at how amazing and magical the wedding was.

Our wedding here was absolutely beautiful and our night was perfect. The event staff were professional and nice. I am so glad they required a day-of coordinator; there is no way we would have had the perfect wedding we did without Jackie! The dinner could have been a little better, but other than that we wouldn’t change a thing - it was perfect!

Fantastic venue!

We are so happy we got married at Claxton Farm and couldn’t recommend them more highly! Claxton’s proximity to downtown, stunning mountain views, and of course Chocolate Chip the llama originally drew us to this venue. The team at Claxton is truly incredible and made such an effort to ensure we had exactly the wedding we wanted. We couldn’t have been in better hands!
Brenda and Emily were fantastic to work with – I can’t speak more highly of how easy and helpful they were to work with throughout the wedding planning process. They were incredibly responsive and consistently followed up with summaries of decisions, outstanding questions, and any other details or variables. As a detail-oriented bride planning my wedding from out-of-state, this made such a big difference in making the whole process stress-free.
My then-fiancé and I went in person for the details meeting and for a food tasting. Both were incredibly helpful to visualizing our wedding and making decisions. Claxton’s recommended vendors were also super helpful – that’s how we found both our hotel and hair and makeup which worked out super well.
Our actual wedding day was a dream thanks to the Claxton team! The food was great, and the chef even created a seasonal chilled soup as an app at my request – it was delicious!! Our DJ, DJ Tech Support, was provided via Claxton’s affiliated M7 Events and he was fantastic – he did a great job incorporating the type of music we wanted played and the dance floor was absolutely packed the entire night. Claxton provides a bridal attendant day-of which was fantastic to have– Jackie did a great job keeping us on schedule, making sure we ate dinner, and helping with anything that was needed. Her help to coordinate with the vendors week-of and go through the ceremony with us in advance were also so helpful. The bartending team and event staff were also an absolute joy and we really enjoyed interacting with the whole team day-of, each person there was so helpful and friendly. Claxton Farm is such a fantastic venue!

Perfect Setting for the Perfect Day

We are so happy we chose Claxton Farm for our wedding ceremony and reception. The views from the barn and the field are gorgeous- mountains in every direction and peaceful pastures provided the perfect backdrop to our day. Emily and Brenda were incredibly helpful, organized, and fun to work with as we planned and coordinated the day and the rest of the staff was equally professional, working hard to make the day perfect.

Couldn’t have imagined a better setting for our wedding!

100% Recommend!!

I had the best experience working with Claxton Farm. Every member of the team was prompt in responding to my inquiries and always was up front with the information that I needed to plan the wedding accordingly (many other venues, I found, were not upfront about costs and such). Our wedding day was absolutely amazing. Unfortunately, it did rain during the ceremony time slot, but everyone worked with us and even waited about 20 minutes to see if the rain would stop. The team ran out and grabbed all the chairs and arbor when it started to rain and brought them in, and worked quickly to move things around and dry things off. Although we would’ve loved to have the ceremony on the lawn, I cannot think of another place where the back-up space was just as beautiful. We had many people comment on how intimate that setting was and romantic it was with the rain in the background. I wouldn’t have changed anything. The venue was absolutely gorgeous and everybody had the best time on the lawn, playing games, making s’mores, and hanging out with Chocolate Chip, the celebrity llama! I so appreciate all of Claxton Farm’s efforts to make this day wonderful. My husband and I were engaged for four years before our wedding and it was worth waiting for - I can’t imagine having the wedding with anybody else.

We Love Claxton

It's hard for me to write this review without crying happy tears because it was the best choice we could have made. Where do I even begin!? We live in Charlotte and took a weekend trip to Asheville to check out 3 venues. Claxton was the first venue we looked at and we knew it was the one the moment we saw it. We ended up going to the 2nd venue just because it was too late to cancel and ending up cancelling the 3rd venue we were supposed to visit... because we knew it was Claxton!! We booked the next day with Brenda and then I met (through email) Emily. Emily was a blessing! My mom and dad both passed away and planning was very hard at times, but Emily was always there for me and became a friend and someone I will never forget! She made everything so easy for me. I am blessed beyond measure to have met Emily and Brenda! The venue was absolutely stunning and so is the staff! Rachel was our day of coordinator and she was perfect and we clicked right away! She made sure everything went according to plan the day of and we appreciate her so much! I could seriously go on and on, but I think you all get the picture! We LOVE Claxton!! We received so many compliments and everyone had an amazing time! Thank you Emily. Brenda, Rachel, and all the staff at Claxton!! We will never forget you all!!

Our Wedding at Claxton Farms

The entire team at Claxton was amazing! Living in Florida and planning a wedding in North Carolina was a bit scary at first, but the entire Claxton team really made me feel comfortable that everything would be taken care of and walked us through every step. We worked with the Chef to create an amazing meal that was not on the menu and vegetarian friendly. Gave us great suggestions for us and our guests on places to stay in Asheville. The Bluegrass Band and DJ were so good and our guests loved all the music! Jackie who was there on the wedding day helped my husband and I with anything we needed and made sure we were where we needed to be for pictures and the ceremony, as well as feeding us. Claxton is truly the best and we're so happy we decided to get married there!

Beautiful, Warm, and Welcoming

Claxton Farm and M7 were absolutely fantastic to work with from the very start to the day-of. We mostly spoke/worked with Brenda initially who was so lovely and accommodating. She walked us through all the aspects of the venue from preparing for different weather scenarios, picking out a menu that suited everyone, recommending wonderful vendors, helping decide on the rentals, the layouts, and timeline for the day of.

Later we also had the pleasure of meeting Emily and Allen (the chef) for the day of our menu tasting. Everyone was so wonderful, taking their time to make us feel comfortable and explain all the options that were available to us. We were very happy with the menu we chose for the day of. Allen was very open and accommodating to help us meet dietary restrictions of some of our guests.

Both Brenda and Emily were always responsive and followed up with updates and notes after each of our meetings. Since we planned all our own wedding this was really fantastic and much appreciated! They were also very sweet in helping us implement last minute changes such as updating meals for our vendors, not to mention we forgot our cake topper the day-of and they were absolutely wonderful in letting us know and getting it back to us.

Our day-of coordinator, Candace, reached out prior to our wedding to make sure we had everything we needed and to answer any questions we might have had. She was such a blessing to have the day of the wedding as well, having her there let us know everything would be taken care of.

We can't thank the Claxton/M7 team enough for all their wonderful work and help in making our wedding day perfect!

Claxton Farm is an absolute dream wedding venue. We couldn't imagine celebrating the start of our marriage in a more perfect place. The setting is amazingly gorgeous: 360 private mountain views, just 20 minutes from downtown Asheville. Throughout the entire planning process, Emily and Brenda made everything really fun and stress-free. These ladies are not only lovely people, but they were extremely accommodating and responsive every step of the way. They helped us find many of our vendors and took care of much of the coordination. On wedding weekend, our bridal attendant Candace and the rest of the M7 staff were equally as awesome in making sure everything ran smoothly and everyone had a blast. Seeing all of our plans come to life on the big day was even better than what we'd envisioned. Our guests raved about the food, local beverages, lawn games, farm animals, and DJ. Feeling so much love and joy and seeing that reflected in our guests' experience was truly magical. Thank you to the Claxton Farm and M7 team for helping us make memories that will last a lifetime.

Our wedding experience at Claxton Farm was absolutely incredible! From signing the contract to wedding day everything was smooth, organized, and detailed. As soon as we walked in on Saturday and saw our idea and plan come to fruition, it was truly a beautiful sight! The first thing our guests mentioned was how perfect the venue was and it couldn't be more spot on for us. It was the most fun our family and friends had in years was a common remark. Our daughter and now son in law were married at Claxton Farm on September 15, 2018 at 5pm. The wedding was magical and in spite of hurricane Florence bearing down on Asheville, every detail was beyond our wildest expectations. We cannot say enough good things about the staff at M7 Events and Claxton Farm. Throughout the planning process, Brenda and Emily were professional, responsive, competent, and positive. From recommending vendors to guiding us throughout the entire process, we felt 100% supported. The few days leading up to the wedding required some last minute changes due to the weather, but Brenda and Emily’s attention to detail made what could have been a stressful weekend run smoothly! The Claxton property was breathtakingly beautiful with magnificent views of rolling hills and mountains. The food was delicious from the appetizers to the main course and the M7 staff worked together like a well-oiled machine.
The bridal attendant, Jackie, was nothing short of phenomenal. She worked hard from the moment we arrived to make sure every little detail was perfect and that everything ran smoothly. It was like watching a symphony conductor bring the wedding to life effortlessly. She anticipated our every need so that we could relax and enjoy the day without worrying about a thing! I still don't know how it's possible for one person to be in more than one place at a time, but somehow Jackie was always there, taking care of the bride and groom, the bridal party, the parents, the guests, as well as working with the vendors. I would highly recommend this venue as a perfect place for a wedding!

My experience with Claxton Farms from initial contact through after our wedding was phenomenal. Planning it was a breeze! Brenda and Emily made the process so easy and stress free. They were quick to respond with any questions I had and fun to work with! The day of the wedding our bridal attendant Jackie exceeded our expectations. We didn't have to worry about a thing and were able to thoroughly enjoy our special day! And to top it off, the venue is so beautiful and fun! It truly was the most perfect day.

I got married on June 16,2018 at 5pm and my wedding was everything I could have ever dreamed of thanks to the amazing ladies of M7 Events and their staff! Clayton Farms is the most gorgeous venue with 360 degree views of the beautiful Asheville rolling hills. ALL of our guests raved about the space and how the mountains looked like a fake back drop. Ever since our first meeting with Brenda and Emily they have made the wedding planning process so simple and easy. My husband and I live in Charlotte so we were doing kind of long distance planning but every question and email I had was answered within a few hours. You have to use the M7 catering company but the food was delicious, my personal favorite was the baked Brie, BBQ bacon wrapped shrimp, and the porkbelly skewers. The ladies will provide you a recommended vendor list for florists, photographers, bakers. Our Day Of Bridal Attendant was so on top of things throughout the entire wedding day. She made sure my husband and I were taken care of and made sure all vendors were on time. I seriously did not worry about a thing once I got to the venue. Everything had been set up perfectly! I would recommend this event space and M7 events to anyone for the rest of our lives. It was the absolute most perfect and stress free day thanks to them!

Treva and Brenda were AMAZING. We were planning a destination wedding, so effective communication and understanding was key for our wedding. Claxton Farm was actually our last venue we were scheduled to visit to select our dream wedding venue, and once we walked in through the beautiful double wood doors we knew this place would not disappoint. They never once let us feel stressed, overwhelmed or bossy; always reminding us that this is OUR wedding and were not only able to accommodate all our requests, but were more than happy to. Their southern hospitality carried throughout all their actions. We probably switched the arrangement of the tables and chairs 12 times, including the day of the wedding, but their patience and customer service was always top notch. They worked with out budget, our crazy family and were able to produce a beautiful evening for everyone to enjoy. The only thing I could pass on was the bridal attendant. Although in the contract it stated that she is mandatory, to me it felt like she wasn't as necessary or as much help as I would have liked. I met her for the first time on the day of my wedding, and she left before our event was even over.
Other than that, the staff and food were incredible. We had table service and served steak, so having it prepared the right temperature was super important for us, and it did not disappoint!
The animals, especially Chocolate Chip and the goats, were the icing on the cake at this location. Having small children run around and enjoy the animals, while the bonfire is going and music is flowing from indoors really made it feel cozy and homey for our wedding. We truly had the time of our life!

Could not have had a better experience planning my wedding with the staff at M7 Events and Claxton Farm. Everyone was prompt, professional, and wanted nothing more than for our day to go perfectly - which it absolutely did. In fact, everything exceeded my expectations! We had some very last minute changes because of the weather, but you would have never known. Inside, outside, rain or shine, this place is heaven. People kept asking me if I was stressed with my up coming wedding, and I could honestly say no because Claxton staff took care of it all! I got so many compliments on my wedding venue and scenery! It is truly stunning and it's exactly what I had pictured in my mind for our wedding. Treva and Brenda made planning a breeze and I couldn't have done it without them. Many of my guests commented that our food was the best wedding food they have ever had, and I don't think they were just being nice because we agreed. They went out of their way to make special meals for my vegetarian and gluten/dairy free friends! If I had to do it over, I would have my wedding there again in a heartbeat.

Being a long distance bride made communication and flexibility particularly important- Claxton did wonderful helping us through the whole process. Treva was a great contact and organized everything perfectly. The venue is absolutely beautiful and worth every penny to have a wedding here. Our guests loved the barn and the absolutely breathtaking scenery around the actual venue. Not being able to taste-test the food before our wedding we were a wee bit nervous, but thankfully, we were very happy with the results! The food was great! The day of coordinator was wonderful and had everything set up just as we discussed. We used the DJ that Claxton often uses, Sound Extreme entertainment, and our DJ was a blast. Our guests have raved about the venue, and all the details involved, and we could not have been happier to have had our special day at Claxton!

First and foremost, Claxton Farm is an absolutely breathtaking venue, surrounded by a 360 degree view of the mountains. It was the first and only venue we checked out. Don't get me wrong now, there were plenty of others on the list, and oh boy, did I have a list! But once we were there, there was no turning back... It was the perfect match, just what we had pictured for our wedding! Not to mention, Brenda & Treva have a way about them that is just reassuring when it comes to anything and everything! I couldn't have asked for a better team when it came to planning our wedding. From start to finish, and even with last minute changes, they were there to help with a smile in their voice every time we spoke on the phone (which was quite a bit lol). Claxton makes planning your wedding carefree and enjoyable. With lists of recommended vendors, and in house catering with unlimited menu options, everything came together easier than I could have ever imagined it. The day of the wedding, I was in complete awe! When we showed up to the venue everyone was working diligently and putting the finishing touches together, to create our Best Day Ever...and it was EXACTLY that! Our bridal attendant, Jackie, was on point. If I was taking a picture, she was holding my drink, and the second I was done, my drink was back in my hand. She's like a magician, really! So coordinated, and on top of things the whole night. I would highly recommend Claxton farm to any couples looking for that perfect outdoor rustic wedding in the countryside. Claxton was absolutely the most beautiful wedding venue ever! Treva and Brenda were both so amazing during the planning stage, and they kept me on track and stress free all the way up to the wedding day! Our bridal attendant, Jackie, was incredible. She made sure that my husband and I were fed and taken care of during our photo session. She was instrumental in making sure that everything ran smoothly and that I was able to enjoy my wedding day without a care in the world! Additionally, I received a ton of compliments on M7's waitstaff. They were friendly, efficient, and did an incredible job setting up all our decorations. M7's catering was also delicious and I got even more compliments on the food!

Long story short, the farm is absolutely beautiful, the staff is friendly and courteous, and the food was wonderful. I can't wait to go there for someone else's wedding so I can experience it all over again!

I went to a cow auction at Claxton Farm when I was in the 4th grade. I knew from that visit that I wanted to get married there! It was absolutely perfect in every single way!
Treva and Brenda were a dream to work with! They answered all of my questions in a very timely manner. Our food tasting and detail meeting was so easy! It was such a relief that they set up all rentals, the DJ, and the bluegrass trio. I was a bit overwhelmed during our detail meeting, but they were so helpful.
The staff the night of the wedding was phenomenal. They were all very professional and courteous. Jackie, the bridal attendant, kept everything on track and on time. She was constantly making sure we were okay; bringing me m lipstick, bustling my dress, fixing our drinks, and making us to-go boxes. She was professional and top notch. Scott was also amazing. He stays in the background, but he also keeps things on time and running smoothly. We were so impressed with how the staff help set up decorations and take them down at the end of the night. The food was wonderful! We received so many compliments on how delicious everything was. Everyone was beyond impressed with how smoothly and perfectly everything went! I would definitely high recommend this amazing venue and M7 Events! They made our wedding more than we could have ever imagined!

There are not enough good things to say about Claxton. Everything about our wedding day was perfect and that was largely because of them. Treva and Brenda are AMAZING to work with in planning; they make everything so easy to figure out, are so accommodating, nice, and responsive. They treated all our requests like it was a breeze, and were always so easy to ask a million questions. They are so seamless in their work and their communication.
On the day of, Scott and Jackie were also amazing! The day went off largely without a hitch, and they were always in the background making sure everything was perfect without being overbearing or making their presence too obvious. I can't thank them enough for all of their incredible help.
The venue - my goodness, the venue. We heard so many married couples saying they wished they had gotten married at Claxton. We had a little bit of rain before the ceremony, but that just meant rainbows during the reception! You look around and you just get a 360* view of the mountains, secluded just you and your loved ones (and some awesome animals), and it's like a dream come true. Honestly, it was beyond perfect. It was everything we hoped for. The food was great, too - the trout cakes were SO GOOD, and the apps were awesome. I'd recommend this place to everyone out there.

Claxton Farm...I honestly don't know where to begin. Every experience I had was wonderful! They have a great list of preferred vendors, the food was delicious and deciding on rentals was made so easy for me. Every person I spoke with or e-mailed was very knowledgeable, professional and caring. I can honestly say I was completely stress free during my entire planning process. When my wedding day came, every detail came together without a hitch. We actually ran ahead of schedule and we're able to have more time to be with our friends and family after dessert!
The venue itself is absolutely spectacular! I'm not exaggerating when I say pictures do NOT do it justice. Multiple guests told me it was the most beautiful venue they have ever seen.

Claxton Farm is a working farm that has been accumulating land for years now and has 500 beautiful acres in the Blue Ridge Mountains. We went to the first meeting to discuss floor plan arrangements and have a walk-through of a couple things. They provide catering, the DJ, event tents if you need them, etc. They are very easy to work with! I cannot wait to have a laid-back but still gorgeously rustic wedding. This venue is classy and rustic at the same time.

This is such a special place. I loved this venue so much I wish it were practical for me to go back and visit regularly. If you are looking for a venue that showcases the beautiful natural features of western NC Claxton Farm is it! Aside from the indisputable gorgeous scenery, the staff Micah and Tanya were soo easy to work with. I planned my wedding from several states away which led to the majority of wedding planning to be conducted via telephone. They made everything extremely painless. Every detail was considered ahead of time and I thought it was especially sweet that the wedding coordinator thought to pack the groom and I a box of dinner and dessert for after the wedding in case were unable to eat during the reception. If you're looking for a venue that takes the stress out of wedding planning Claxton is easily a winner! The venue will even arrange food, ceremony music, and a dj. I could not have been more pleased.

Micah and Tanya we wonderful to work with and made sure we had every detail set so that we didn't have to worry about anything the day of the event. Micah, Tanya and the event staff at M7 Events / Claxton Farm are an absolute dream to work with. They were instrumental in making our wedding a perfect day at a beautiful location. Micah ad Tanya especially made what is a stressful process (planning a large wedding) into a fun experience. Food and service were A+ and each vendor they recommended was great. (PS I highly recommend the ropa vieja! Our guests were thrilled with the food). The farm is stunning (even when it is about to storm) and it made a 130 person wedding feel like a smaller gathering (what I wanted) because of the wide open field and big sky. HIGHLY Recommended. Claxton Farms was an AMAZING wedding venue! Everyone was so helpful (especially our bridal attendant, Summer) and made the entire experience the best night of our lives. The planning process was easy and stress free, thanks to Tanya and Micah and everyone else working with M7.

Our guests went on and on about how great the food was and how nice and responsive the staff was, more than at any other wedding they had ever been to. The venue itself was breath taking and every thing was set up and ran beautifully on schedule by all the event staff. The transportation (we chose the bus) was a great gift that we could give our guests so they did not have to worrying about driving home after the wedding.

The entire day was even better than anything I could have dreamed.

We would HIGHLY recommend this venue and all of the wonderful people who work there to anyone.

I had a large wedding (300 people). Claxton Farm was beautiful (even in November when the leaves had fallen off the trees). Everyone I worked with from Claxton was friendly, flexible, and did everything they could to make my wedding run smoothly which it did! It was the perfect day! Although we had great weather, I was confident that if it was an ugly day, they had everything covered as far as a tent and any set up to make an equally beautiful wedding. I would recommend this venue to any bride and groom who want a mountain wedding with a barn. I brought my own doors, and they let me set them up. They go above and beyond to help make your wedding exactly what you want whether that means renting things through them or referring you to someone who can help or even to allowing you to bring your own stuff.

Could not be any happier! We had our daughter's wedding at Claxton Farm and had to plan everything from a distance as we live 4 hours away. From the first site visit with Micah to the drive away at the end of the wedding Claxton Farm could not have been more of a dream to work with. They were excited, flexible, and helpful. All of the guests attending were mesmerized with the place upon arrival. It was important to the bride that the venue be child-friendly and it definitely was. All of the children had a ball! There was a children's menu, Smores, and Llamas and miniature horses and cows on site, and most importantly lots of running room! Would highly recommend this place to everyone! It was a picture perfect wedding for a our daughter.

My wedding at Claxton Farm was BEYOND perfect! My husband and I were on a low budget, and Claxton did everything they could to help us make it work. The staff were incredibly helpful, caring, quick to respond to any questions or ideas, and just so delightful! Claxton Farm itself is such a beautiful location and venue, and has everything you could imagine. There are adorable restrooms, a soda fountain, cute bar (even though we did not have alcohol), and all sorts of little extras that they let you use and decorate with. The fact that they provide catering, table, linens, etc. is incredibly helpful as well. They also set up our music for us! The food was sooo delicious, we received so many compliments on the food itself! I don't think I could run out of good things to say about these people and this venue. And for all of this, the price is just right. I couldn't find another place this nice anywhere near the price offered. I would highly recommend Claxton Farm to anyone!

Claxton was amazing. Micah and Tanya both helped us from beginning to end, incredibly responsive, very flexible and friendly. By the end of the all the planning Tanya felt like one of my close friends. Definitely use this venue. No other place more beautiful in WNC!

EVERYTHING about Claxton Farm is amazing. I wouldn't have changed a thing! We were lucky enough to work with Micah and Tanya and they were so incredible. We had high expectations for our wedding and Claxton delivered our vision and more. The food was wonderful and they worked with our vendors so seamlessly. They really helped with our planning and execution of the event, down to all the logistical details I never would have considered. Our day of attendant and event captain were wonderful also. I didn't have to worry about anything leading up to the event or the day of. Every single one of our guests complimented on the venue and just how gorgeous it is.

If you're considering Claxton, you shouldn't hesitate at all!

Claxton was the perfect venue! It is breathtakingly beautiful (pictures don't do it justice). The place where the ceremony takes place is in an enormous field surrounded by 360 degress of mountains and fields without a road or house in sight. There are great places for pictures, and the wedding reception hall is roomy, clean, and has a lot of potential for different types of decoration.
Also, the staff was incredible: Micah and Hailey mainly helped us plan everything. They are punctual and kind and professional. From the first time I contacted them to the moment they were helping organize people to walk down the aisle, they were so pleasant to work with. The bride and groom, our parents, and immediate family members couldn't stop talking about how great the staff was.
We could not have picked a better venue for our wedding!! I have no negative comments I could come up with for Claxton Farm and their staff!!!

Had our Rehearsal dinner at Claxton Farm and it exceeded our expectations. From the booking to planning Micah and Hailey were SO easy to work with. They were clearly knowledgeable too. Our Guests LOVED the Rehearsal Dinner. From the Smores, to the Carolina BBQ Menu, to the ambience (my family is from FL & NY so seeing Mini Horses, Llamas and a Tractor was so outside the box and fun for them). IMicah & Hailey are excellent at their jobs and I will absolutely recommend Claxton Farm for any event. Thank you!!

Working with the sales rep, Micah Hartley, I knew Claxton Farm would be the perfect venue for our wedding before I even saw it. She made the process enjoyable, made me feel valued, and provided a laid back, yet creative, organized, and efficient planning process... as a planner - those elements were more valuable than I can explain.
In addition - the venue was breathtaking. Set in the beautiful mountains in a rustic but classy, upscale barn - it was by far the most memorable and breathtaking wedding venue I have ever been to, and I have heard the same from my guests. I would recommend going to Claxton Farms to everyone. It was simply perfect.

BEST WEDDING VENUE EVER! This place truly made our special day perfect! I would recommend Claxton Farm to anyone and everyone looking for a unique outdoor wedding venue. I cannot say enough about how wonderful our experience was. The staff were all so very helpful and made the planning so much easier. After the planning process, I feel as though we all became friends! Thanks to you all, our day was exactly as we imagined it. The only thing I can suggest to improve the experience would be to have a private place for the men to get ready before the wedding. Austin was quite nervous before the wedding, and said he would have liked a bit more privacy. (But, that doesn't even begin to counter all the wonderful things, just a minor suggestion.) THANK YOU for everything! We constantly look at the beautiful pictures to relive our day at Claxton!

My daughter and her fiance wished to have a mountain-rustic wedding, and Claxton Farm was a perfect fit. M-7 Events made planning for the wedding so easy because they are so experienced regarding the venue and needs of bridal parties.Their chef, who is on-site all through the wedding, did a fantastic job and we received lots of compliments about the buffet meal, as well as our appetizers. Despite the fact that we ran into hot weather, Micah and Hailey quickly arranged for us to get a shade tent for our guests for the ceremony. I cannot emphasize enough how beautiful the setting was, how happy our bride and groom were (this was exactly what they had envisioned), and all our guests are still talking about our wedding at Claxton Farm!

From the very beginning when I was researching venues, Claxton Farm was at the top of my list. Once we visited in person we both knew that this is where we wanted to be married. Micah was fun to talk with about the wedding planning process and had wonderful suggestions as to what tended to work well at Claxton. Micah, Lindsey and Becky were each absolutely invaluable in making sure that every detail was taken care of as well as going above and beyond for our wedding day. We had several guests comment that ours was the best wedding they had ever attended, the food was great, the setting was just magical and the folks out at Claxton Farm kept the day running smoothly. Best part was that our 2 dogs were able to be part of the ceremony, it wouldn\'t have been the same without them. If we ever have to plan another event in the Asheville area, we are having it at Claxton.

Everything about Claxton Farm is AMAZING. Maria Atkins and Micah Hartley were instrumental in making sure the our ceremony and reception were exactly what we wanted. They really can cater to any type of bride, but I think a wedding like ours (casual, soccer games, barbeque) fit especially well at the farm. You don't have to do much decorating at all since the mountains are always beautiful. We got married on May 30, 2009. The weather was perfect and there weren't many (or any that I am aware of) complaints about temperature or insects. The only requirement is that you use M7 Events Catering for your reception. We had numerous comments about the chicken and pork being the "best wedding food" ever! The entire process was fairly painless and we planned most of the event from Atlanta. Maria and Micah are excellent and responding via email and phone and the day of assistance was perfect and essential! The venue is great -- natural beauty, relaxing atmosphere and highly competent and personable staff!! If you want a "destination" wedding close to Asheville, NC, Claxton Farm is the place to go!! We loved it!

We had our wedding at Claxton in August and absolutely loved it. We were planning from several states away and didn't see the venue until the week of. I have to say it was everything I hoped it would be. The setting is gorgeous and we received so many compliments on such a beautiful venue. The staff is great and helped with planning, answering questions quickly and helping guide me with what needed to be done. Having a bridal attendant the day of really alleviated any stress and ensured everything was going as it was supposed to. The venue is a bit expensive. It does include DJ/rentals/food/shuttle but still a bit more than other places we looked. You do get what you pay for as there is no place we saw that compared. We thought it was worth it to have such a stunning venue and don't regret splurging as our day was absolutely perfect.

Claxton Farms and their staff were extremely organized and knowledgeable!! They were all so friendly and helpful at all times. Every vendor they suggested (bakery, florist and hair salon) were top notch!! I truly cannot say enough good things about our experience - highly recommend!!!

From the moment we visited Claxton Farm, we knew it was the perfect place for our wedding. The views are absolutely breathtaking and the venue is perfect. Throughout the planning process, both Micah and Tanya were such a joy to work with and very accommodating as we worked with them to plan every last detail. We were able to drop off our decorations a few days prior to our wedding date and explain where we wanted things set up. To our amazement, when we arrived shortly before the wedding everything was set up exactly as we wished. I cannot say enough great things about the venue, service, and staff that Claxton Farm provides!

I can't imagine having my daughter's wedding any other place than Claxton Farm. Micah and Hailey were professional and caring and held my hand through the entire planning process. They were both there daily to reassure me and answer all of my questions. The end product, I'm told, was a fairy tale wedding.

Breathtaking Forest Valley

About a year ago, my SO and I both said “I do” at Claxton Farms. As a part of our anniversary, we thought it fitting to leave a review of Claxton. First of all, the views are spectacular. We were married on a foggy day during the fall golden season, and I can’t express the absolute beauty that exists on this farm. The tree leaves were vibrant as small clouds drifted across the misty mountains.

The farm is settled in a little valley, where nothing could be seen except nature, family, friends, and your loved one. We didn’t hear cars, jets… anything except the wonderful 3 string bluegrass band entertaining our guests. With farm animals in the background, Claxton has a gentle and pure feel that one might get while at camp as a child.

The staff was highly knowledgeable, caring, and performed well at all their tasks. The food was amazing too and we enjoyed the tasting to get the exact dishes that we wanted. They accommodated dietary restrictions for my father, who has severe gluten allergy, and the bartenders were generous if you know what I mean 😉

My wife and I are so glad that we chose claxton farms. It was a wonderful night surrounded by those we love in an environment that celebrates nature and gentleness. Such an amazing venue!

Beautiful venue + great staff

I'll just start by saying that Claxton Farm is BEAUTIFUL and we wouldn't have had our wedding anywhere else. Emily is amazing and super helpful/responsive. Our bridal attendant, Jackie, was amazing as well. Always kept a drink in our hands and kept everything running on track. The waiters, waitresses and bartenders were great as well. Everyone complemented us on our venue! My only real complaint was that it wasn't made clear to us how much it would cost for all of the rental items. The initial quotes were definitely for the bare minimum wedding so we would recommend that you put together a realistic quote before moving forward. Oh, and the AC is definitely not sufficient to keep the venue cold in the summer (we got married in July). Our guests were reasonably rowdy and danced a lot but I was expecting it to be much much cooler inside. The food was good, I wouldn't say it was AMAZING but it was definitely better than all the wedding food I have had before and people had great things to say about it. Overall, we were super happy with the venue!

Rainy day wedding in the mountains

Clayton Farms was the perfect venue for our fall wedding in Asheville.
Emily and Brenda were essential and so incredibly helpful during our planning process. They were very quick to help answer questions and provide suggestions that we hadn't even considered. Their attention to detail and knowledge of the venue/M7 Events helped to create the exact event we were looking for.
The food through M7 Events was amazing. Our tasting was probably one of our favorite parts of the planning experience and we still dream about the bacon wrapped shrimp. Our guests loved the buffet we offered! You really could not go wrong with any of their offerings.
Our day of attendant, Jackie, was also amazing. She made us feel like royalty at our wedding, catering to our every need so we didn't have to worry about anything and could just be in the moment. It really helped to make us feel special and be able to focus on our friends and family.
Claxton is a great value for the gorgeous 360 degree views. Being nestled in among the hills you feel like you're in your own private retreat. Our day started out with pouring rain but lifted just before the ceremony was to start, and the crew at Claxton was amazing and moved all the chairs so we were able to have the outdoor ceremony we so wanted. The mist coming off the mountains only added to the beauty of the location.

Claxton Farms is a gorgeous wedding venue that provides a 360 degrees of an unadulterated view of the North Carolina Mountains. There is a large grassy field and a pond with weeping willows. The barn is air-conditioned and the staff is very professional. They are accustomed to having events and weddings despite the unpredictable NC Mountain weather. It rained intermittently during the evening of our wedding, but held off during the ceremony. The venue is versatile and can handle whatever weather may happen, which made the rain on our wedding day absolutely magical. It was wonderful not to have to worry about the rain when we had chosen an outdoor venue. While we had 4 different wedding coordinators during the year that we spent wedding planning due to turnover at Claxton, for the most part, they were organized.

Claxton Farm was an amazing venue with beautiful views and an extremely helpful staff. We were blown away by how smoothly they made the night run - we truly did not have to worry about a thing! We were originally disappointed by our first food tasting, but the night of everyone seemed to be pleased! The options aren't very exciting, but mac and cheese is a good standby :) Emily, Jackie, and Brenda were incredibly easy to work with and I would choose Claxton again a hundred times over.

We selected this vendor from online since we were having a destination wedding. We went into this process never having seen the venue in person and were a little hesitant because of that. As it turns out the venue was even better than we could have imagined and the website did not do it enough justice! Working with M7 Event Solutions has been great! They helped with all of the details and supplied references for outside vendors for us to use, which was great considering we were not from the area. The coordination on the wedding day was superb, and the catering and staff that they supplied was amazing! They were very personal and friendly and attended to our every need as well as our guests. After the wedding our guests even commented on how wonderful the venue, staff, and catering were and how smooth the event went. We appreciate how wonderful M7 Event Solutions has been through this whole process and how exceptionally beautiful Claxton Farm is in person. Thanks again! :)

We had a great experience at Claxton Farm. It is a beautiful venue, and all of our guests had such a great time. The staff was overall very professional. I had to give them a 4 out of 5 stars only because the bridal attendant that I was provided seemed a little inexperienced and we often had to track her down to ask questions. The kitchen staff was fabulous and the food was delicious. Several people told us it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding! It actually rained directly before and after our ceremony but the Claxton is perfect, because there is plenty of room to hold the ceremony inside if the weather does not cooperate. No one even realized the ceremony was supposed to be outside. I would highly recommend using the house bluegrass band for music. They were awesome, and everyone kept asking where we found them! Overall, I would highly recommend Claxton Farm. Our wedding was wonderful and we wouldn't change a thing!

Beautiful Venue

A beautiful venue with great flexibility to meet our vision and budget. We appreciated the planning assistance leading up to our event. The day-of staff were very professional. Though you feel secluded from the world, I had no problems with cell service and the venue was easily accessible from major roadways, which was convenient.

Attention to detail & ability to customize

The team at Claxton Farm were always very responsive, open to all ideas to customize/tailor the wedding we wanted, and were helpful in selecting outside vendors. They have options for all price ranges for food, beverage, furniture rental, and tableware. On the day of, their team was on the ground and getting everything set-up just as we wanted. At the end of the evening, they made sure everything was packed up and sent home with a designated person which made our exit seamless. On top of all their good work, the venue location speaks for itself, it's just beautiful - some of the best scenery in all of Western North Carolina. We'd give them a 4.5 out of 5.0 and truly appreciated the attention to detail, care, and expertise they provided over the course of the eleven months we worked with them.

Claxton Farm was the perfect venue for our wedding. We loved the expansive, open space. Guests enjoyed the space, playing games on the lawn, visiting with Chocolate Chip, and taking photos all over the property. They also thought the food was superb. The scenery was absolutely amazing!!The location is great- close enough to Asheville for guests to enjoy what the city has to offer, and far enough away that you can enjoy the beauty of the NC mountains! The staff with M7 and Claxton Farm were amazing! They thought of every detail, and didn't miss a thing! They let us plan the wedding and decor the way we wanted it, and offered suggestions when we needed it. The food and menu selections were great- the best wedding food we and most of our guests had ever had. It rained at the time our ceremony was suppose to start, and they were so good and patient- letting us wait out the rain, and we were still able to have the ceremony outside. The pictures are stunning! Early on, the communication regarding wedding details took a few days- but given how many events they coordinate, that is to be expected. As our date got closer, the communication was outstanding. The cost of everything (rentals, space, etc) is a bit of a sticker shock at first- but totally worth every penny! Without a doubt, the best day of our lives! We loved the blue grass band, and had them play for our ceremony. The DJ was just ok- but he was good enough for what we needed. The vendor recommendations (photographer, florist, etc) are definitely at the high end- so my suggestion is shop around. Overall, Claxton Farm helped make our day incredibly special, and I would recommend it to anyone!

Breathtaking Wedding Day!

My husband and I are so happy with the way everything went with Claxton Farm. We felt so supported and also felt in control of our own wedding. The food from M7 catering was out of this world! And the staff and coordinators went above and beyond. I will only say that I would have liked to have my Bridal Attendant through the entire event as my Day of Coordinator was spread a little too thin finishing the event my her lonesome! But Wendy rocked it anyway : ) I am so grateful for everyone's hard work. THANK YOU CLAXTON. High and Honorable recommendation for THE BURLEIGH'S!!!

We loved our wedding, but here are a few critiques:1)We were VERY disappointed in the quality of our event planner-and this is a mandatory expense to use Claxton! We thought with the years of experience that Claxton has using certain vendors, everyone would be used to working together & it would click along seamlessly.The planner acted at times like I was supposed to conduct the rehearsal, & the very detailed lists and notes I had given her for ceremony details were disregarded. Day of, she was NOT in sync with the DJ. 2) The DJ. My ceremony music was a disaster. Nobody heard ANY music! The wedding party processional was done to no music. None. I didn't even get to walk down the aisle to the song that I had spent weeks trying to decide - so disappointing! Again, I gave a set of lists and notes that were specifically for the DJ so they could know what song goes where, yet somehow this got screwed up. Besides those things, the other small critique I had was Claxton should consider changing their house linens & chairs. We had to pay extra just to get plain white table cloths because the house linens are black & white checkerboard. Also, the house chairs are black. White chairs and linens would be better for all events! I would certainly recommend Claxton for anyone considering them - they handle a lot of the work for you and were awesome about responding to e-mails. I would just heed caution with the DJ and planner.Our DJ didn't even announce the cake cutting and literally nobody saw us cut our cake because our planner just randomly rushed us over to the corner and said time to cut the cake. Claxton, make sure your planner is experienced & that he or she is COMMUNICATING WITH THE DJ ALL NIGHT LONG. Besides those things not going the way we wanted, the DJ played good music that kept people on the dance floor all night long, and the planner definitely made sure the groom and I were taken care of by getting us drinks and food all night and anything else I needed.

Overall, our experience at Claxton Farm was awesome! The only thing is that we wished we could have had a much longer party...and this is really not possible at this venue.

Both Claxton Farm and M7 events have some of the most fun and wonderful employees! Claxton Farm is by far the most beautiful place to get married. The vendors they recommend are amazing! The dinner was not exactly the quality we expected, but the appetizers were beyond delicious! Little to no flexibility from their contract, so read it very carefully!

Most gorgeous place I found to have a true mountain view outdoor wedding! It fit perfectly with my vintage, bohemian vibe and had plenty of funky extras like the lamas and miniature ponies along with horseshoes and a fire pit! Note you are locked into their caterer so make sure you like their food. We were initially disappointed, but after they agreed to do all grilling on site (for which we had to pay extra) it worked out. Keep an eye on their proposals to ensure accuracy! They upcharge a lot. The event planner was usually prompt, helpful and responsive, but I also had a wedding planner to back me up. The service on the day of was top notch and all in all if I had it to do over again I wouldn't change a thing; we couldn't be happier with the end result!

We picked Claxton Farm for our November destination wedding in Asheville without actually visiting it in person, but after we had our first site visit, we knew that it was the perfect venue for our rustic elegant wedding. Brenda was a pleasure to work with throughout the process, and she and Treva responded to emails in less than 1 day usually. The event staff were on top of everything the night of our wedding and reception, and everything went off perfectly; however, I did have a few issues:
Costs became higher and higher, and it felt like every little thing was double the price. Lemon slices for each guest were going to cost 50 cents per person, when honestly, you could buy 20 lemons for $10 for 100 guests instead of paying $50. Also, we were shocked to find out that the cost of having a ceremony rehearsal is an additional $200! And next year, it will go up to $250. We saved our money and had a rehearsal at another outdoor venue, and it turned out fine. Lastly, at the reception, the food was not hot, but cold or lukewarm, though it was passable. Claxton won't let you bring in outside catering, which we knew about, but for a foodie town like Asheville, you would hope for better quality food.

Even though this is a bit of a critical review, all in all, we wouldn't have had our wedding elsewhere and couldn't have asked for a more gorgeous setting.

I have only minor criticisms. Primarily, the scheduling for decorating. I think there is room for improvement, especially when the venue staff is onsite; it should allow for decorators, etc to have more access and time to accomplish their tasks. There was so much to be done and overlapping times constraints for photos, guest arriving (some were even lost), I think this could be modified somewhat without being subject to more fees.

The little house is a nice idea, but too small and needs a bathroom or at least running water. We only had 5 attendants, but seems most brides have more and I can't imagine where they would stand, certainly couldn't sit. What do the guys do? All that nervous energy and no place to go.

The last thing is somewhat minor, but food for thought. I felt the staff (more importantly, the musicians) could have dressed better. The musicians had on Tshirts and shorts! One guy had on a head scarf...really! Definitely not attired for any kind of wedding. The Claxton staff had been working all afternoon, but for the dinner it would have been nice it they had on clean (and dry) shirts. It was so hot while they were working, but would have made a better presentation to guests. Rachel, The bridal attendant, was a doll and we needed her, but she also should have dressed the part a little more professional, in my opinion.

In closing, let me say, I heard nothing but glowing remarks from our guests. They loved that there was something for all ages. The kids were happy and we even had a few babies playing on quilts outside. The site was Mother Nature at her best, venue was clean and manicured. It made for a beautiful wedding and I think my daughter and new son-in-law were very pleased.

One Year Wedding Celebration Due to COVID

Due to covid we had to postpone our wedding celebration a year later. They wouldn't refund us our money from the year before. We chose the venue for its natural beauty. Once we moved forward with one year wedding celebration they were easy to work with and the night was fun. However, we reached out to M7 Events afterwards a few times to let them know of some hiccups and they never responded. We emailed Very, called and mailed a letter. Very disappointed w/ post service lack of response. The entertainment would have shown up the following day had we not emailed them. Thank goodness we did! The main area where we wanted pictures w/ our photographer; by the pond, was off limits the day of our party. We learned that the day of and we're beyond upset. Very disappointed since that area sold us on the venue! It seemed like so many problems we encountered or avoided due to our attentiveness. Drinks half full were thrown out by staff frequently. This was frustrating since people set their drinks down to play games etc I will say Good value especially because it's turn key in a sense. DJ was highlight of the night for everyone.
