I got married in May. Mara and Angelo at studio PH4.5 are awesome. My hair and makeup were on point! they are the best at doing hair and makeup! I don't know what I would do without them!! -

Words can't express how great Mara was. She exceeded my expectations in every way. I've been a client of Angelo's for many years now and he is truly amazing. I have never been disappointed if anything I'm always amazed at how great my hair feels and looks after I visit. Anytime I have an opportunity to refer him to friends I take it. I hadn't worked with XioMara until last year and she is awesome. I mean I'm very indecisive and she was very patient with me and also very flexible. She really listens to what you want for your wedding day and she delivers! My hair stayed in tack throughout my entire wedding and felt so light and comfortable. I will be referring this duo to friends for many years to come! They were a very special part of my big day! -

Xiomara and Angelo are fantastic. For my wedding they asked the right questions to gather the information on what I was looking for and wanted for hair and makeup. They made the time for both the trial and the day of. Not once did I feel rushed or that they would rather be doing something else. They helped make my wedding day beautiful and memorable. -

Mara was great to work with. My bridesmaids and I were all very happy with our hair and makeup. Mara went out of her way to accommodate my group's changing schedule and last minute requests! it was one less thing that I had to worry about on my wedding day. -

I've been a client of Angelo's for 15 years! He's fantastic. I would travel to the ends of the Earth just to have him cut and color my hair. I could go on and on about how Angelo has helped me into and out of a red phase, got me back to my blonde "roots" or kept me from knowing if any greys have shown up, but this review is specific to the work that he and Mara (aka City Girl) did for me leading up to my wedding.
I asked Angelo if he and Mara could do several hair and make-up trials with me. I had two hair trials (one up-do and one down) and one make-up trial with them. Mara was wonderful to work with - we walked through several hair style ideas and discussed what would work best for photos. During our make-up session she tried a couple of different looks but we settled on one that was just perfect for my vintage styled dress. I decided to go with the airbrush - turned out great in all the photographs.
She ordered some of the make-up in advance of the wedding so I could play with it and see how I liked it. I appreciated this so much! I'm in love the lipstick she got me!
On the day of our wedding, Mara and Angelo also did hair and make-up for my mom and Matron of Honor. I'm amazed at how fast Mara can pull off an up do that is so original and perfectly styled!
We were a bit rushed to get out the door but both Angelo and Mara made sure every detail was taken care of and that we looked our absolute best!
Mara's pricing was very good/fair and it was obvious she genuinely cared about you as a client - she had your best interests at heart.
They were a very special part of my wedding day and will continue to be my go to for hair and make-up for years to come. -

She interpreted my vision exactly. Very professional, yet extremely friendly and comfortable to be around. She made me not only look beautiful, but feel beautiful as well. Both hair and make-up were flawless and lasted throughout the entire event to include reception, dinner and lots of dancing! Very happy with the pictures as well, we received these in a timely manner and were very happy with the results. I intend to hire her for other events in the future. -

What a wonderful wedding for my daughter. Thank you Mara and Angelo for the fabulous make-up and hair styles. Your professionalism and talent really shined through from the beautiful bride, to the MOH and brides maids, down to her mother! You both came with a sense of calm and structure and worked through all the ladies so seamlessly. Everything went so smoothly. Jennifer's make-up was exactly as she wanted and her hair style was stunning. Though the wedding venue was 2 hrs away and we had to travel in some wintery weather mix, you two were there early and ready to go! Thank you both so much for being part of our wedding and adding that special personal touch! -

I got several compliments on my wedding day on how I looked like a fairytale princess. I felt like a princess thanks to Xiomara! She says she enhances your natural beauty, and she definitely did that and more!
I had both my hair and makeup done for my wedding day. I had my trial - I showed her a picture of the hairstyle I liked and she nailed it! I am so excited to see the pictures from my wedding day, I know they will be amazing thanks to Xiomara :-)
With everybody running around all around me, Xiomara helped me feel calm as she worked on my hair and makeup. She was a very positive and energetic person to have around on one of the most special days of my life!

City Girl did over eight heads of hair and 5 or more faces of makeup for my wedding. The results were spectacular. She made every bridesmaids breathtaking, and worked nonstop until the job was done. It made my day wonderful, and was one less thing I had to worry about, because I knew it would be amazing. I would recommend here 100 percent to any bride or person needing a job done for hair and makeup. You will not be disappointed. -

Mara was my stylist for my wedding (and for the rest of the wedding party as well), and she was spectacular! When I first met her at my trial appointment, I wasn't really sure what I wanted. When she was done and I looked in the mirror, I was speechless -- what she had done was so gorgeous, so perfect, that I grabbed a camera and made her promise to replicate it exactly on my wedding day! She was extremely professional in every way, yet also very friendly and stress relieving. I enjoyed working with her so much that she's been my regular stylist ever since. -

I got married on 8/25 and had hair and make up trial in february by Xiomara. I showed her a picture of my ideal hair and make up and hired her for my wedding. Mara is wonderful to work with!!!!! I was so nervous getting ready for my wedding but Mara's fun, happy attitude helped sooooo much. ALL of my bridesmaids were VERY happy with their hair and makeup!!!!!!!!! They had so much fun with the makeup artist Jennifer, and they all LOVED their false eyelashes :) Both myself and the bridal party received tons compliments during the whole event!!!!!!! I loved my hair and it stayed in place all day and night!!!! My makeup was lovely....I looked like me only better!!!!!!! I would encourage anyone to let Mara get them ready for their big day!!!!!!!!!!! She even got out a stain on my dress that we noticed at the last minute!!!!! -

Mara was absolutely fantastic!! My wedding day was a little chaotic as the number and identify of those wanting their hair and makeup done changed as Mara was working. (In fact, the last person asked to have her hair done only 45 minutes before the ceremony.) In addition, the day before the wedding, I decided that I wanted my hair up, rather than down, which is what we had done in the preliminary session. Mara and Jennifer were able to graciously and calmly handle the changes, as well as the unexpected additional number of people. I cannot recommend Mara highly enough!! She is an absolute professional. She clearly loves what she is doing and does it with great skill, confidence, and grace. Mara's calmness was an anchor in an otherwise crazy and chaotic period just before the ceremony! Thank you, Mara!!!!! -

Mara is AMAZING with cut/color in general and wedding hair. I drive all the way from Maryland to see her, that's how good she is! During our trial, I showed Mara some pics, and she went to work. The first one wasn't perfect, but I couldn't really put my finger on it. Mara was like, "got it!" and in about 15 minutes the second one was PERFECT! Absolutely perfect. She took pics so she could remind herself on the actual day, and on the wedding day it was exactly like the trial. Everyone loved it, and best of all, everyone said that it was "me", which is one of the best compliments you can get on your wedding day--to look like the most beautiful version of yourself. Mara is wonderful, and I'd recommend her to anyone. She's also flexible--when I got stuck in traffic on the wedding morning and totally panicked, she had me send my maid of honor ahead (my MOH was not in the car with me), and she started on her so that we remained on schedule. -

Mara was super great she came with her makeup artist on time to the hotel early to accomidate all 6 of us. she did my hair last and makeup artist did makeup last and lasted all night long! the girls were all beautyful just like i wanted them to look i could not ask for anything more. she also had connections to taste-e cakes where i got my cake ,which was beautyful and tasteful, she also did the grooms hair and powder my husband little flaws. he looked perfect and she made him feel comfortable. she also did my hair and makeup for our enagement pictures she put extensions for volume and lenght and for my husband she lowlighted his hair making him look 5 years younger! we looked marvelous! i will continue to do my hair with Mara and use her for any other events. she was reasonable and on time. thank you mara! -

Mara was great to work with. She did hair for myself, my mother, 6 bridesmaids, and 1 flower girl. Totally professional, but also a laid-back and totally positive person to be around on your wedding day. She helped to make my wedding-day completely stress-free. I ended up going to her for a haircut and highlights as well, and I was completely satisfied. I 100% recommend Mara for wedding/special occasion services! -

I highly recommend Mara w/ CityGirl Salon De Belleza. She did my hair and my bridesmaids hair for my wedding and we all were EXTREMELY HAPPY with the way our hair turned out. She listened to what each of us wanted and knew exactly what we asked for! She did such a fabulous job on all of us! She was very easy to work with and understood that we knew how we looked best and reflected that in beautiful hairstyles. Mara worked with my schedule and was very professional and efficient while still producing fabulous hair styles on each girl! The pictures turned out great. I highly recommend having Mara do you and your bridesmaids hair - it was such a relief knowing each of our hair looked great and we didn't have to stress about our hair on the day of the wedding, amazingly our hair looked great throughout the entire day/night! -

Mara was incredible! From the time we first met her we knew we had found the perfect hairdresser!!!I had several other trials and was not happy with them. Mara not only did a great job with style but she colored my hair perfectly!!! My mom, my sister and I are going to continue having Mara style our hair. I received so many complements the day of my wedding---she arrived on time, brought help and stayed till the end---even redoing one bridesmaid's hair who decided she did not like the original style she picked. Again, if you want to look beautiful on your wedding and stay calm I cannot recommend anyone better than Mara! -

I highly recommend Mara at CityGirl Salon De Belleza. My brother's wedding was on a Sunday - and they are closed on Sundays, but Mara accepted the date along with doing the hairstyles for my mom and friend, even though she had a wedding to attend later that day!
My french twist was so elegant, and Mara's skills were highly evident when she utilized several different methods to do the twist; finally deciding on the best technique for my hair type. It was comfortable and beautiful, and stayed in place all day and night. My friend asked for a half up/half down style with curls which fall over one shoulder. It was so elegant and again, it stayed all day. For my mom, mara even squeezed in a haircut (!) prior to doing the style. Excellent cut and style. All of this was done in one morning - I was amazed at how efficiently and quickly the styles were performed.
The best quality about Mara as a hairstylist is her concentration on what the client requests. I am able to say my likes, dislikes, past experiences with how my hair reacts to certain cuts, my comfort level with cutting around the face; length; etc - Mara focuses on what you say and explains back to you her proposed approach. Before doing anything, Mara verifies that her proposal meets your needs - and once you both agree on the cut/style, she promptly does her magic! Mara listens and cares about her clients, and is a highly skilled stylist.
Again, I highly recommend Mara for any wedding or formal event. Before any event, there is usually the 'time-crunch' element and nerves are worked up. Mara is so upbeat and fun to be around - it makes the experience completely enjoyable. She does everything so quickly - it releaves you of any stress regarding the time-crunch. I will certainly use her for all of my future events. -

Xiomara was an absolute dream to work with! She did a fantastic job on my hair and I got a million comments on it throughout the night. My own photographer who has done countless weddings was amazed at how intricate and beautiful it looked. My favorite part was that my hair lasted throughout the entire night! Mara dia a fantastic job styling my hair and makeup for my wedding ceremony! She had great ideas, but was also open to creating whatever I wanted, and never made me feel pressured or rushed. She's got great talent, and her prices are very reasonable. I am not usually a "salon" person, but the time I spent with Mara flew by because it was so enjoyable! I've recommended her for cuts and color for years, and now I'd recommend her to any bride in the area as well! -

I have thick and curly hair and had absolutely no idea what I wanted to do with it for my wedding. Mara took the time to get to know me, learn my style and understand my expectations for the big day. The look she created for me during the trial was absolutely perfect, and even better on the wedding day. I look back at my photos (the pink bridesmaids and seersucker suits shown here in her portfolio), and am so thrilled with the way my hair looked. This is especially significant, because ussually it is the first thing to ruin a picture for me.
Mara was not only a hairstylest, but a cheerleader, and was so personal even though she works with tons of clients. Whenever I called, she answered the phone "Hi Jen" which let me know that I was not just one of many.
I wish that more of my friends were getting married locally so that I could insist that they use her!

Mara was the bridal hair stylist at my best friend's wedding. Words cannot express how grateful the whole bridal party is to her for the excellent service she provided. She showed up at the hotel we were getting ready at ahead of time, and waited patiently until I arrived with the bride. She made sure to call me instead of disturbing the bride at this hectic time. She told me not to worry and to relax and take our time. It helped to make the start of our day much less stressful.
The entire bridal party loved their hair, and beyond that, Mara's presence served as a calming force during a stressful time. She is sweet and entertaining. She will make you feel so good about yourself. The bridesmaids continued to sing Mara's praises through the night. She really knows how to work with hair. And she will adjust to whatever you want as long as you are vocal. When the bride had her initial consult and started to have second thoughts, Mara was more than willing to try a second time to adjust to what the bride envisioned. Mara went above and beyond her job to share in the joy with us, do whatever she could to save time, even get the bride ready when makeup was running late!

Mara was absolutely wonderful. She came to my house to do a trial several weeks before the wedding, and had some great ideas. When I looked in the mirror when she was done, I was completely blown away -- she came up with a hairstyle that I would never have thought of and was absolutely perfect. It was exactly the same on my wedding day and it just takes my breath away every time I look at the pictures. She also did the hairstyles for the other women in my wedding party and they were all just as happy as I was. She's really terrific and helped make my wedding day so very special. -

I booked Mara to do my hair for my wedding, along with my bridesmaids, and also had her practice the updo for my bridal portrait. She is cool, calm and collected...and really focuses on the style that you want. I was really impressed that she pays so much attention to detail and even went back to touch up my mother's hair to make sure that she loved it. Mara and team was there for me from the beginning. Jennifer was able to attend to over 6 women in one sitting. I was very impressed although I do not think I got the hair style that I wanted.
