Gorgeous Cinematic Wedding Photos
Before finding Renae, I felt unsure about "who" to hire. I have worked with other photogs for professional purposes, but hiring one for my wedding, I wanted it to be "just perfect."
We decided to work with Renae because she was thorough, helped us think through the logistics and timelines for the day (a good photog will do this, and you should listen), she did research about the things she thought would add to the photos, and she was just as enthusiastic about our day as we were. She is real, honest, fun to hang with, her portfolio is amazing and she is an actual fine art photographer, not just a hobby photog - yes, these things are important to us.
What stood out to us was how seamless and easy her process was pre-wedding, and the day of the wedding was perfect. Like, honestly, our wedding would've been 100% different had we gone with anyone else. She's natural, relaxed, fun, and there were NO forced poses or awkward cues, which was very important to us.
The results of us working together was a gallery of hit after hit. we had the best time revisiting our day when it arrived, and were amazed at how many awesome photos there were. The photos were rich with color and story, cinematic and felt so romantic. Great portraits and some candid gold.
We were married in Nola so we needed someone who would be fun to travel with (check), easy to get along with (check), quick on their feet/be able to find great spots for photos in places she's never been to (check), indoor, outdoor, day AND night (check), able to incorporate architecture and nature pieces in the composition (check), has an eye for color, narrative, energy, angles, etc (check), total pro (check).
If you are considering Renae, we would say: if she's got your date, SNATCH IT! She's WORTH IT. Do it before she's a million dollars and booked three years out. We joke that we'd get married again to have more of these photos. -

Renae was a dream photographer for our wedding in every way-- from her calm, down to earth & professional demeanor on our wedding day with our family and friends, to the quality of her work in general. She captured so many more beautiful, emotive moments than we ever thought possible; the day we received our wedding gallery we were stunned by what she captured---she has a sophisticated & tasteful eye but understands exactly how to make emotion jump out of the picture. We wanted to purchase every single photo! We really appreciated how flexible Renae was as we had specific requests for backdrops, poses etc and she treated every shot with the utmost importance. Finally, Renae also conducted our Engagement session---a completely different style and feel from our wedding but we loved every single shot---demonstrating her incredible range. Would highly recommend working with Renae. -

Extremely professional

Renae is simply amazing at what she does. We initially booked her for our engagement photos and were so impressed with her work and her ability to make us feel so comfortable in front of the camera. Taking pictures can often times feel awkward, but with Renae my husband and I always felt totally natural and relaxed. We were so incredibly happy with those pictures that we booked her for our wedding. I don't know how she did it, but our wedding pictures are even more incredible then what we could have imagined. There *literally* is not 1 bad picture in the 1,000+ pictures in our gallery. Renae is able to capture those very special moments in a way that will make you and your loved one feel like magazine models! We can't thank her enough for really capturing our day and leaving us with such special memories. -

Personality + Remarkable Work+ Dependablity = Pricesless Value
Had me at hello. Renee's bubbly personality resonated with our need for a positive person in our wedding planning search. My wife and I were very overwhelmed and we decided to take on the toll of looking for a photographer. Renee's photos differed from album to album and I felt that I could see personality from each album. That couldn't of been more true. Renee captured my wife and I's personality through engagement photos and wedding photos. She even was good with my crazy ideas of dressing up in dinosaur outfits on one of the hottest days in Chicago and taking photos. Then when we decided that we wanted to pull the plug on a big wedding and just do a destination wedding in Malibu she didn't even stutter to say she'd come out there. She even went a couple days in advance to find us a place to get married at. Her eye and just type A personality meshed well with us. If you're looking for a person to be dependable and someone you look forward to seeing on one of the most stressful times then you shouldn't look further. I do not regret spending the money to get City Savvy Imaging. Oh! And her work is TOP NOTCH. We have tons of the photographs hanging in our house and one is the center piece of our whole living room. She as a person is enough to make her part of your wedding day. Her work will make you save the memories and if you explain what you're looking for... you'll have zero issues getting exactly what you're looking for. I am rambling but not enough characters or words can explain how pleased I was with her. Thank you so much for being a positive part of spending money on our wedding day. Lets do Malibu again, Renee!!! Thinking 5 year anni!!! -

Renae and City Savvy Imaging is the best wedding photographer in Chicago! She captured our day so perfectly and was so fun to work with. Renae had the perfect spot scoped out on the Riverwalk for our first look and stayed longer to make sure we got all the shots we needed. She is absolutely the best and we cannot recommend City Savvy Imaging enough! -
Brittany Sent on 02/03/2018SO HAPPY we chose Renae to photograph our wedding! We do not get our pictures taken often and are generally uncomfortable in front of a camera. It was important to me that we have someone we felt comfortable with - I liked Renae immediately! She came to our meeting with a lot of helpful questions and quickly put together a general timeline for our wedding day, which she emailed to me the next day. We got lucky and were able to take pictures in Lincoln Park before it rained. I am so glad she was there to keep us on time and get the shots we wanted, because my attention was in a million different places. Quality of the pictures are great! Her pose suggestions and micro-adjustments were spot on and most welcome. She never felt intrusive, was professional and focused, but also relaxed and go with the flow. She posted preview pictures on her social media leading up to getting our online gallery, a little over 2 months after the wedding. We got our USB drive + prints a month after that (did not order an album). Very satisfied with the turnaround time. She was in our budget and we are so happy with the entire experience and results. For any of our future photography needs, she will be my first stop!

Kelly Sent on 12/21/2017City Savvy was really great to work with. Renae was very well prepared and came to every meeting with documentation for us with things we didn't even think about. We told her the style we were looking for and then pretty much let her take it from there. She (and her second photographer) had great formal pictures but also captured our fun moments with the wedding party that weren't planned. Not only did we like her, but our wedding party and family who also were a part of pictures did. Everyone the next day complimented her and how hard she worked for pretty much 12 hours straight.

Omar Sent on 12/18/2017Even though we live in Houston, TX, I wanted to plan a surprise proposal in Chicago, which was not an easy task. I had a specific vision of how I wanted everything to unfold, but it wouldn't have been possible without Renae! She was extremely familiar with the location and was happy to help with every single detail along the way. The day of the proposal, she captured the moment perfectly while making it fun for us. I would highly recommend Renae!!
